[Resolved]  Airtel — Deducting(robbing) prepaid mobile balance

Address:Kannur, Kerala

Hi,

I am a customer of Airtel prepaid mobile for a long time. For 1 year, airtel has been forcing unwanted services on my mobile and deducting my balance. I have complained to their customer care several times, but this practice is repeated even nowadays. I am visiting foreign countries for the time being with international roaming activated and with enough balance to account for any emergency calls. But due to their mischievous activity I lost a huge balance. This is day robbing. I had posted about this incident in the same forum and got reply from somebody claiming as AIRTEL customer executive. But no action taken so far. This is fooling the customers.

Some timeline of AIRTEL's planned robbery on me
1) Previously, AIRTEL customer care/automated number used to call to my number and ask me to press xxx number for their yyy service. Then I had the option to not to opt for the service.
2) Later, they used to call to my mobile from some random number and if I accidentally pick the call, they used to activate some service. When I talked to their customer care executive, she was telling me that I had opted for the service. Poor me, what to do?I didn't have any idea.
3) Again later, when I went abroad, they used to call me. Even if I didn't attend the call, they used to activate some service. I came to know that by dialling *121# I will be able to see and cancel the service. I cancelled many such services which they had activated in my mobile to loot me.
4) They began activating unwanted serviced very frequently in my mobile in a competitive spirit. Don't know their customer executive gets some award for this. I used to view and cancel it whenever I notice it.
5) Again they changed the strategy. They activated some services. When I tried to view the service using *121#, they will show a status as something like "Kindly note that there are no services active on your mobile". But there will be some messages coming to my mobile in the name of some particular service and my money would have gone. I would be able to cancel this service only after quite a long time only, if I tried continuously.
At this point I sent an SMS to their customer care number 121, which is believed to be a toll free number. I did it from UK. I lost Rs.50 for the sms, which I sent to complain about their looting.

I would like to ask just one question. Do AIRTEL see me as an enemy instead of a customer?. Is it a war between team AIRTEL v/s people of the nation?

Best Regards

AirTel — Looting of balance

Hi
I am a consumer of airtel prepaid mobile service (mobile no. [protected] ). Airtel is deducting balance of my mobile without my knowledge . I complained about this on customer care services and refund of my money (complaint code CMOUC[protected] ) .they insisted me of action but still I do not got my money .And even still with out calling i'm deducted 30ps every 2min even now.
And i also recherged for Rs.34 on 27th Jan 2011 for Mobile office usage but the balance is not credited and also if i use the internet the amount is directly deducted from my main balance
Why is airtel looting customers without their knowledge? Hoping for action.

We need to stop this RObbery at any cost.Must sue them for this.
I am fed up complaining about the same Issue.
The number and generic nature of incidents indicates it is a well planned policy of AIRTEL. This is pure arrogance from AIRTEL and clear threat to the consumers.
What is the legal way to resolve these kind of law breaking? Any ideas are highly welcomed.
Dear sir

The following are also similar complaints about AIRTEL within a day. This indicates they are doing this robbery as a policy

Hi Rakesh,

Thanks for your reply. I have updated the details in the site www.airtel.in/needhelp. At present I am in UK and if I pick up the call, as you would know, it will cost me Rs 100 per min. Please contact me in the mail id '[protected]@yahoo.com'. This issue is not a single one I had faced. I faced it several times and even complained to customer care. They had agreed not to repeat, but still continued activating services without requesting. Later I used to check the subscription with *121# and stopping it as soon as I notice. But, in total I lost a lot of account balance. Since, I am in UK, I have been maintaining some good balance of around Rs 600 in my mobile for emergency needs. Then they started deducting that. Whenever I stop it, they started activating again in a competitive spirit. This is not at all appreciable by a customer. Recently I lost around Rs 200 all of a sudden and when I sent an sms to 121(customer care) from UK, Iost Rs. 50 again. Even after this, they continued activating service. Now the activated service won't be visible as soon as it is activated. By the time, I am able to see the activated service, my balance would have deducted again. Why do you make us suffer so much, just because we have subscribed for your service?

Best Regards

There is no action taken on my complaint other than a customer service executive named Rakesh(can be seen in this comment chain) responded by posting a comment. The comment is given its value. But my complaints remains unresolved and unattended. Rakesh, if you respond like this, in future people may not believe on your comments. Be responsible for what you commit.
I would like to offer a gentle reminder that this complaint remain unresolved after 11 days.
15 days after complaint registered, yet no action!!!

I RECEIVED A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER BUT THERE IS NO ONE SPEAK FROM OTHER SIDE.

I HAVE PREPAID CONNECTION AND MY MOBILE BALANCE IS AUTOMATICALLY DEDUCT
Same here..whenever i call airtel customer care they argue always that i activated the services and in spite of repeatedly stopping all the services they continue to deduct money and still argue that we activated the service. when we speak up then the customer care representatives disconnect the call...such horrible people...cant believe brand like airtel cant resort to such cheap gestures towards its customers...Ashok
It is observed that the AIRTEL customer care Guy Rakesh deleted his comments from my post. What a stinky looting and irresponsibility. God save you AIRTEL and Rakesh.
I observed the number of comments on this post as '-1' ? What is the concept of '-1' comments? Joke of the day. Is this the way the comments in this forum are handled. Feel pity.
Do they really think, they can go forward cheating all the people like this?
Even after 1 month no resolution to this complaint. Even AIRTEL has withdrawn their reply. What is the meaning of all these?

Best Regards
Sudeep
No use posting in this forum. This is all an arrangement. Can anybody prove otherwise?
