Airtel Trick to Charge Customer Unnecessarly

My name is Satinder Singh I was using airtel postpaid numbers from many years. i was very much disappointed with your company behaviour toward my numbers.

my number [protected] is deactivated by aitel on 22nd jan 2012 because my credit limit exceeds and your executive said to deposit Rs 5100 for that.

i told them about all the things that happens which create this heavy bill. The fault was on his side.
Now i am going to explain all the things to you.....

i got a message from airtel that Gprs has been activated on your mobile. on the same day i call your helpline number and request them to deactivate it as i have not activated it. he said you are given 200mb free, you can use it. on the next day i use 120 approx data on my mobile by downloading application for my mobile, which also shows the amount o[censored]sage on that day.

next day i got message from airtel that your unbilled is Rs 3000, iwas surprised. i call your helpline and deactivate the gprs. on next day i got message that your bill is Rs 6000(approx). and outgoing was barred.
i call your 121 and said about the problem they said you have to wait for bill generate. on 22nd Dec 2012 aitel deactivate my incoming also. Thats really Bad. My bill generates on 24th dec 2012 and aitel cant wait for 2 day. i am using your numbers from many years and you do this with me. i missed my important call because of airtel nonsense.

on the other side, i got same message of gprs activated on my other postpaid number [protected]. i call 121 and said to deactivate it. he said you are given 500 MB free. But beacuse of my early experience i deactivate it on the same time without using it.

Now My actual bill is generated which is Rs 4521, REALLY Unbelieveble for me. I am unbale to pay that because that's against my principles

      First complaint is regarding cheating in the name of special offer. I received msg about New Year Gift regarding 600+200 minutes of talktime on recharge of Rs. 197. I recharged for Rs 197 on Jan 24 (transID[protected]. The above msg continued to be received by me till 26th. Now the special/secondary balance was being deducted for a few days and then deduction is being made from primary balance. Where did the secondary go? The msg states validity 30 days.

      Second complaint is regarding tariff rate plans for Rs 23. They say the plan will be there for 180 days. I recharged with Rs 23 on October 19. Now I got a msg on Feb 1 that my 'per second' tariff is going to expire in 2 days. Can anybody calculate 180 days between Oct 19 and Feb 3?

      Is there any way to speak to customer care? The automated system is only a nuisance.

        i have been using my number for quite a few years and I had to travel outside of India during which my phone went on international roaming.I decided not to disconnect my connection so I can use it when I come to India for various things.Now after 2 years of paying rentals and charges every month the company disconnected my number.And that too without my intimation.They say they have a internal guideline that if not used for long they disconnect.But how long...its not clear?
        You can pay rentals for any amount of time to keep your connection alive and they will just disconnect any time.you cannot always use International Roaming as it is damn costly so you have to switch to other options like a calling card etc when calling to India or a Voip phone. When asked to appellate about the guidelines that after how much time they feel the number should be disconnected they say it is not clear as it is market and reputation based.What kind of an answer is that...you keep charging the customer for any duration and suddenly permanently disconnect him or her just because of non usage.WHY IT IS COMPULSORY IF I AM PAYING MY RENTALS...??
        And that too without any intimation you permanently disconnect???No email etc ...?

          Respected Sir,
          Myself Dinesh, I here by inform you that I am using an Airtel prepaid Sim from 5 Years, No: [protected]. In Mid December I opted for a Port out because of no good tariffs. And when I quoted an Request to 1900 for porting, I received a call from Airtel Customer Executive telling me a new Tariff which is, Airtel to Airtel 10 ps/min, Airtel to others 30 ps/min and tariff validity is for 180 Days. I opted for this tariff and i was happy with it, but all of sudden in Mid January Tariff was changed to 60 ps/min to all Mobiles without my concern and at least not even a single confirmation msg from them. When i asked about it to the customer executives they were telling me that My tariff validity has been expired. At first they owed me this Tariff for 180 days, but it was changed in 30 days.
          And again when I Lodged a Complaint on Mid January based on by change of tariff, They gave me my tariff which is Airtel to Airtel 10 ps/sec, Other Mobiles 30 ps/sec on 22nd of January. But again by January 24th my tariff was changed to 1.2ps/sec to all Mobiles, which is 80 ps/min. And since then I am requesting for my tariff but of no use. They hold my call and they will disconnect it again, when i question about it they that its a technical problem, but once or twice it can be technical problem but every time i call them my call will be Disconnected and I am not getting my Tariff.
          Opting out of Airtel now is not a Problem to me, But They Have Cheated Me on my Tariff Plan and I want to teach them a Lesson.

          Airtel Prepaid Service — improper tariff

          i am holding following complaints against airtel:-
          1) improper terrif is being charged
          2) value pack of rs 223 is not being activated
          3) some "friends offer" is activated by them regarding which no information was sent to me
          I have contacted their executives thrice and was asked to give a time of 24 hrs every time making it to 72 hrs still i have recieved no response from them
          i want to a tarrif scheme in prepais airtel scheme. i want a tarrif voucher which change the std calls rate. there are std calls rate 1.50 i want a tarrif to short the std calls rate.

            Since two months, I am in receipt of the following messages and deduction of daily charges:

            "Dear user you have been subscribed to Wallpaper Pack. You will be charged Rs.1/d. To unsub sms STOP TO 122." Followed by
            "Daily Wallpaper service renewed"

            I have not at any time subscribed to Wallpaper Pack. And I tried to reply STOP to 122 but it is always sending failed.
            I want this to be stopped immediately.

              " you have been renewed for ITW NEWS_1 subscription service from Airtel, you have been charged Rs.1."
              from AD-54321. And 1 Re. per day deducted, and receiving news messages. I didnt activate any service like this, i tried in many ways to deactivate this service, but in all tells 'no service activated for your number' . Please deactivate this service. my mobile number is [protected]

                My friend Purchased this Airtel Sim card from a month ago from local vendor but still does not have the connection! He gave all Id proofs but even after regular follow-ups with the vendor and Airtel our request is unheard. Don't know what to do. That's pretty pathetic!

                  Hi,

                  I Mahesh Kharpude resident of Bangalore, BTM II stage. I am holding Airtel 3G corporate plan of 3G internet with HUAWEI 3G modem. My Airtel SIm number [protected]. AirTel though it is advertising all over about 3G, it does not have 3G network at all. Their services is below average best word is pathetic. Except for first one week, there as no time I saw "H" (HPSA) on my mobile. It was always EDGE. The speed is so bad even streaming radio at 24kbps is buffered... I complaint to cc several times. I have registered complaint multiple times with Airtel customer service but till date I do not get resolution. Last I have registered complaint against airtel on 23rd & 26th Jan but still not resolved. I do have acknowledge copy of email from Nodal desk. But this nodal office never reverted on mail.I have escalated case to nodal office thrice as well as appellate desk thrice in last 6 days but no one shown interest to resolve my problem. They were only respond “This is to inform you that your concern has been noted and our team is working on a resolution. At the outset, we apologize for the inconvenience faced by you. We will get in touch with you for further details of your concern as the need arises”. But this is not yet contacted me. Even Appellate desk not escalating my case to next service level they were only mentioning this is the last level of escalation. They promised me that the Appellate desk Manager will call you in next 4 hour but that four has not over from last 48 hours. This is hectic irritating. Not able to work on the internet without the 3G. I have also registered my complaint with the customer care and waiting for the solution soon. Pl recover this problem soon

                  Apart from this I will register the complaint against Airtel in Consumer court & will not gonna pay bill for period 23rd to till date my complaint resolved. If you interested to solve my problem call me on [protected] this is my mobile number.

                    Hi,

                    Today I got a SMS from AX - 602789 saying:
                    "You have been activated with 1 month Free Hello Tune with 1 song download Free. To deactivate call[protected]."

                    Since I don't want the hello tune service, I called[protected] and it was a airtel hello tune service center, it asked me to choose an option - I pressed number 4 as my option to unsubscribe, but the reply was
                    "I didn't get that, no problem, let's try again"

                    This means it is a never ending loop, you keep on trying to unsubscribe, you will never get unsubscribe.

                    Kindly unsubscribe me from this service and also PLEASE KEEP ME IN DND (DO NOT DISTURB) for calls and SMS.

                      Dear Consumer Forum,

                      I had made a request to Airtel to disconnect my Delhi's mobile number [protected], in may 2011.
                      Post this request I was asked by an airtel customer care executive to pay off 2100 Rs only, and rest is waved off (since the utilized amt was 2100 rs only)
                      The same payment was made in favor of Airtel in may 2011 itself, along with the request to discontinue my phone.

                      However, till date my request has not been realized, and infact, my Bill has been accumulated, and I have been harassed let right center, with phone calls from AIRTEL Call Center/ Collection Dept.

                      They have gone to the extent of making calls to the frequent numbers from my calling list.

                      Everytime I got a call from Airtel collection department, I had to explain my case to a new executive. They also told me, that the executive who waved off my Bill has left, hence they have no record of the same. However, I was assured that my request will be processed, and no more calls will be made.

                      Despite this, i kept receiving calls, and to top it up, they have sent a LEGAL NOTICE at my residential address- Lajpat Nagar.

                      I seek justice and wish to file this complaint, against the unethical behavior of Airtel Call Centre/ Customer Care Dept as they have not only mentally harassed me, they have also gone one step ahead, and made calls to my aquaintances by breaching the privacy and looking into my call details..The call was made to Sarthak Shah- [protected].

                      Please help.

                          I get same messages for unwanted News subscription. Especially under this AZ Service, AD-54321 for ITW News -1 subscription service. These AIRTEL people are day light robbers. Presently, it is for news subcription they are deducting my amount. Earlier it was for some GHATI - or shall I call it GOO - HATI -Third class ka bhi third class song "Amba Pikato" which was so irritating and then for JOKES not requested.

                          With some or the other pretext they make us "Bakras". As such strong action should be taken against this company or its staff who is trying to steal commission to increase their salary.
                          I am facing exactly the same problem with Airtel. Now and then Airtel activates different services for my number without my request. Once it was cricket news, then it was JOKES and so on and now it is ITW News. Every time, only after some period do I realize Airtel has been deducting my balance for such unrequested services because they are clever at this and activate diffrent service each time so that we do not realize we are being charged.

                          When I give a complaint they deactivate the service. But what about the money already deducted without my request for the service.
                          Every time I talk to the Airtel customer care regarding such unrequested paid service, they say the usual bla... bla... ('... without you requesting the service it won't get activated...').

                          It is very cheap way for Airtel to make money. Very cheap. I find no relevant words to express my disgust. These people have to be PUNISHED for stealing the money of people.

                          If Airtel continues to do this, I will move from Airtel...

                            For the last 6/7 months I have observed, that I am receiving unwanted News headlines / material on my SMS messages which I am not interested in as I have my daily "Times of India" Newspaper at my door every morning.

                            I have not asked for any NEWS subscription from any Artel Mobile Services. Still Rs.10/= is deducted for every News from News Sources viz. ITW NEWS -1 and like wise others Rs.10/= is deducted in great style by these people.

                            In the past Rs.30/= used to be deducted for JOKES, without my permission or request to them.

                                I would like to share the most FRAUDULENT act by Airtel and wonder how such a large company runs "ethical" business.

                                I wanted to upgrade my broadband speed to 4mbps from 2mbps. I placed a request and the plan was changed to the 4mbps in "Airtel's System". Ok, now the funny part. I never got the speed and the data under the 4mbps plan after the migration. When I called them (first of many calls), they said that there is a feasibility issue in the area and the plan can not be changed. That is fine and I completely understand. So, what should an ethical and principle oriented business be doing?, they must change my plan to the old plan of 2mbps and refund the account or make adjustments in next billing cycle. However, these guys never did and they say, it can not be done. It can not be done, my foot!!.

                                I repeatedly followed up with them and finally got a person respond with the below email

                                Thank you for writing to airtel.

                                As per the telephonic conversation had with you at ******* your complaining unable to get 4Mbps speed due to feasibility in area hence your requesting for plan change and billing adjustment.

                                We request you to revert us conformation mail for plan change with the name of the plan.

                                Further we would like to inform you that we request you to revert us the next bill generation regarding adjustment due to feasibility in area.

                                It is our privilege to have you as our valued customer and would like to thank you for your continued patronage. We look forward to a very warm and fruitful association with you.

                                Even after the confirmation email from the person, I don't have the adjustment made yet. All I get is a phone call from dispute resolution person, who was very unprofessional and was not trying to understand what I was saying and my concern. Instead arguing that this can not happen etc.. etc..

                                  This is Madhusudhanan and my broadband Number is [protected]

                                  I have been using air tel broadband 3G for past six months. I am facing speed issue from the beginning of internet usage. I intimated this issue many times to airtel customer care technical support team but my problem is not yet solved. The broadband is working less than 100 KBPS. Due to this i can not able to use the internet and i am paying my monthly rental without using internet.
                                  Recently i contacted the customer support team many times. They committed call back to me from back end team but i did not got any calls.

                                  Finally i spoke with the team leaders of technical support team leaders (Mr.Hari, Mr.vinodh, Mr. Sakthivel). They intimated me that they sent a mail to back end team.
                                  They also intimated that my 3G service is not yet updated properly and this is the reason for my speed issue. I have raised number of complaints.

                                  Still my problem is not yet solved. Its really hurting to pay for a 3G service which works less than a 2G speed (less than 100kbps). I am also unable to utilizing my internet usage and forced to pay the monthly bill.

                                  airtel data card — Bandwidth issue

                                  Dear Sir/Madam,

                                  I, Mohammed Nadim, am using the Airtel Data Card (# [protected]) and am extremely dissatisfied with the service. I am using the UNLIMITED PLAN for Rs 999. I had subscribed for this service from the AIRTEL CENTRE, NEW MARKET. That time I was promised that I will get a committed bandwidth of 236 Kbps but all throughout the month, the bandwidth which I am getting ranges from 30 - 70 Kbps. I have tried complaining about this at the Customer Service Call Centre but to no avail as the calls keep getting bounced from one place to the other.

                                  I am so dissatisfied with the service that I feel like discontinuing with the service.

                                  Please advise accordingly.

                                    Since 2002, I'm using [protected]. It was a prepaid connection. In 2008 an offer came to get lifetime validity paying Rs. 1000, which I did. Somehow I wasn't using the same number for last 2 months, though SIM was with me. Now on 26th May when I checked, number has been allotted to someone else. Now can I get an explanation on this. I mean how can a number with lifetime validity been allotted to someone else without getting an prior approval from me.

                                      Complaint no 1. my std, isd out going calls has been deactivation without informing to me also without any reason. i just talk to Custmercare peoples and they said, STD, ISD facility not yet activated on my number, i am surprised: i have been using this number since last 2.7 years.

                                      complaint no 2. i am unable to surfe internet on my mobile (i used Iphone 4) already activated 98/- pack 1GB per 1 month, i am using this pack since last 1.5 years.

                                      Airtel — automatic deactivation of STD facility

                                      My STD facility has been disconnected since last 3 weeks and this has been happening for the last 3 consecutive months. Inspite of repeated complaints to customer care and to airtel gallery at bandra west, my problem has not yet been solved. I am utterly disappointed by the kind of service provided by airtel to a loyal customer like me. I require the STD facility urgently.

                                        sir, my airtel landline no. is [protected], i had comlaint for disconnection of this no. on 16/10/2011 with comlaint request no. 5773670 to the customer care, but they didnt disconnected it at that time.
                                        they disconnect my airtel landline no. on 20/01/2012 after my second complaint of disconnection with request no 10349296.
                                        now they send me connection bill of rupees 1800
                                        but why i pay the bill if i had complaint it before on 16/10/2011 for disconnection.
                                        its not my fault, i have complaint no 5773670. now what i do, and i cannot pay bill because i had nt use this airtel connection since 6months.kindly suggest me your suggestion on my phone no. [protected]
