Airtel — Threatening legal department calls about incorrect billing

Address:Bangalore, Karnataka

I had availed Airtel DSL Broadband connection (Airtel Landline No: [protected], Account No: [protected] at my residence in the year 2011 in the JP Nagar area in Bangalore. I applied for a shift in residence to Bellandur area in Nov 2011. Airtel customer care replied saying they cannot offer the same broadband service in Bellandur area and following this, I asked the customer care to disconnect my broad band connection permanently. I clearly all my outstanding bills till Nov 2011 and did not utilize broadband service from Airtel starting Dec 2012 as I already had moved to my new residence in Nov last week.
However instead of taking action on my request for disconnection, the Airtel representative changed the bill plan to a lower speed one in Dec and continued to bill me for the following months and the customer care was harassing me over the phone every week to continue to pay for the service in anticipation of future connection availability at my new residence at the changed bill plan. I repeatedly informed them over phone and email that I have requested for disconnection and paid all my outstanding dues and that the matter is pending at their end and I am not liable to pay anymore for service that I have requested to be terminated. An Airtel executive came to my new residence and collected the modem/Wifi router, but did not even give me back my deposit for the device in Jan 2013. When I asked him for a receipt, he said there is no receipt for return of modem and that the money will be directly credited to my account. However, I didnt receive the money and Airtel continued to send me reminders to pay an outstanding amount of Rs 2937 for the following months. In March 2013, I received a letter from Collections.[protected]@in.airtel.com saying if I dont pay the outstanding amount, a legal letter from LokAdalat will be initiated.
I promptly replied to airtel.[protected]@gmail.com, explaining the context and stating that I was not liable to pay for service when I had asked for disconnection and I cannot be made to pay for Airtel's slack and erroneous billing. I received no response to any of my emails.

3 days ago, I received another email from Collections.[protected]@in.airtel.com threatening me to pay bills or face legal action. I replied in email once again to collections.[protected]@gmail.com explaining the same story. Today, I get a threatening call from a lady representing Airtel legal department asking me to pay my outstanding or face legal action. When I tried to explain to her the situation, she didn't seem capable o[censored]nderstanding and kept repeating 'pay your bill or face legal action' as if she was a call centre employee with a script.

I am tired and exhausted with Airtel, harrassing me for 5 months now about an issue which should have ended in Nov 2011 itself when I asked for disconnection. Please take this matter seriously and resolve it.

There are thousands of such cases across India from consumers and Airtel needs to act responsibly towards its consumers and stop harassing us for money that is undue. If all the consumers would unit, Airtel would be facing a hard time setting in court for consumer complaints.

Airtel — Asking me to pay bill for which i have given disconnection Request 5 months back

I was using Airtel 0ne year back in june07 i stopped using it. in august 07 they send me legel notice to pay my pending bill. i paid the bill and at same time gave request for disconnection.
but instead of disconnecting my phone they again send me bill for next month. now again they have sent me court notice and also torturing me over phone that you have to pay the bill. i have not used this number after june 07.
Earlier their advocate said if there is no usage charges Airtel will not ask you to pay. but when i showed them that there is no usage they said that you have to pay this bill and again give a fresh disconnection request.

AirTel — Threatening Call

Kindly trace number [protected]
I received threatening call on my landline [protected] on 4th October.
I need to know name of person and location.

Regards,
Ankit Baphna
I had purchased a datacard connection approx for Rs 4000/- around Sept 5-10'2009 or so in Mumbai (my form is all blurred and does not show the date) from AIR TEL OUTLET AT FOUNTAIN (RECEIPT GIVEN BY KAMDAR TELECOMMUNICATION
174/180, KUSUM VIJAY BUILDING, 3RD FLOOR, MODI ST, FORT, MUMBAI -1). The same was returned on Sept 20th (Kamdar Communications 20317 dated Sept 20 for Rs 3500/-) after a tiff with the Airtel staff (Kamdar Communicatons) since the datacard was not compatible with my laptop.

a. The Air Tel service man who delivered the datacard in Dahiser tried his best and could not connect the laptop on to the internet and asked me to take it back to Kamdar Communications since it was not compatible with the laptop.

b. I used the Air tel phone services and the assistance could not help me and asked me to take it back.

When I took it back to return and get my money refunded, the Kamdar rep. at Fort were quite rude and would not return the datacard but finally with enough coaxing and pleading, they took it back and deducted Rs 500/- since they said that I had used it for 15 days (although they know that it never worked on my laptop). I am complaining to have that Rs 500/- plus interest till date returned to me since I never used the datacard. The only time the datacard was used was in the outlet when they tested it to be working but whenever I tried to use it, it did not work.

2. I did not know how their systems work and confirmed with kamdar Communicat. that my account with Air Tel has not even started and has ended since I have returned it and have nothing to do with Air Tel. They confirmed that everything is ok and the account is closed. I did not know that they did not close the account on their computers on Sept 20th and now Air Tel has been sending me bills since Sept 82400030 Oct 98428908, Nov[protected]Rs 1507/-) and when I went to Kamdar Communications at Fort to ask them why my account was not closed on Sept 20, 2009, they were rude and refused to talk to me saying that I have to send a request to close account with Airtel.

Now since Sept till Nov, Airtel has been sending me notices and warning me that they will take legal action towards me if I do not pay Rs 1432/- and are lying that they have made telecalls and visits to my place. I travel out of the city for 25 days of the month. Now Airtel is threatening to send my case to their solicitor and take legal action if I do not pay the bill (for a connection that never took off).

Since I am back for 5 days and leaving on 6th Jan, I called up the Airtel customer service and as they instructed me to call, asked to talk to a Miss Priya and someone named Neha picked up the phone and without any greeting answered rudely. When I spoke that I have been asked by Air Tel to contact the no and asked why she was being rude, she put the phone down and did not answer my calls till 15 minutes even when the bell was going because I asked her if she was speaking from her home or office and why this kind of a tone. This is the worst service and behaviour I have received from Airtel. Please help to solve this issue. All their phones are busy and never picked up and the customer service No. keeps on asking the same question 10 times in English and then in Hindi and keeps taking info.

AirTel — erroneous billing and threatening calls

I went to China in the month of March 2010 where Airtel charged some GPRS charges of INR 30000 approx. I am pretty sure that this amount is not correct. Inspite of making multiple calls and writing numerous mails even to the level of appellate, my complain was not resolved to my satisfaction. I travel a lot abroad for my work and I make sure whenever I go out, I write an email to customer care and appellate and also make call to customer service department to update about my plan. However, inspite of my case pending with appellate and inspite of telling them that I would be out of india for certain number of days, the collection agency of Airtel made threatning calls to my family, freinds and colleagues and have tarnished all my image in the society. This has not happened just once. I have ben to around 3-4 countries in last 3 months and everytme I go out they make calls even after my reminder going to the appellate about me going out of India.

Untill now my problem has not been solved. There is no answers with appellate about my problem. I have not got any satisfactory response till now about my image being tarnished.

I have all records inclusing emails to prove my innocence. Pls help
