[Resolved]  Aviva Life Insurance — Denial of the actual amount

Hi,

The mentioned policy LFG1432673 from AVIVA LIFE INSURANCE was in force and i have never delayed in premium payments(Amt Rs 25000 yearly) for last 5 years (including the current year). I had ULIP plan of Aviva in which my 100% Amount was in Growth Fund and on 23/08/2011 i switched the fund to balanced fund by looking at the NAV they were offering me and the amount was approx. Rs.235,000. On 29/08/2011 i opted for surrender of the policy at Thane branch of Aviva but they told me that there is some technical issue at their end so they can't tell me the surrender value. I then contacted the customer care and got the surrender value as Rs.234,000. On 14/09/2011 i got an amount of Rs.118,854. I called the customer care and reported this as a complaint but they said there was a technical error at their part, i personally visited Ghatkopar branch and explained the scenario still i was not helped enough to atleast tell that we are checking the same will get back to you. I mailed the issue to the customer care and i got a reply that i need to read the PQIS(Premium Quotation and Illustration Statement) which is not feasible as the policy depends on market conditions. Kindly help me solve the issue. It is the companies duty to inform the customer about the pre-closure and drawbacks. The complaint was also raised to IRDA on 27th Sep 2011 but no revert till 6 months and now when i checked the status of the complaint there is no such complaint(Complaint No.[protected]. I assume the complaint will be registered and will get a help concerning the same ASAP. Below attached is the screenshot when i checked the policy details.

Dear Team/Aviva,
Only After the complaint was lodged in this site you have asked me for the re-initiation of the policy, till that time i have followed up a lot with aviva customer care executives and it took a year for you to determine the re-initiation of the policy. One more thing if you are asking me for re-initiation what is the guarantee that i would get the amount what i've invested in aviva.
I have already said that when the site gave the wrong information and when i started the procedure to surrender the policy aviva should have informed me regarding the issue with the site, you people surrendered the policy without prior notice that there is issue in your site and it costed me the principle amount as well as the interest which i would have got if the amount was invested in a fixed deposit at any bank.

I would rather ask the consumer forum to please intervene in the matter because i think aviva is making a fool out of me. I have attached the screenshots for your reference and if any proofs is required would be provided in demand.
Dear Consumer Forum Team/Aviva,
The re-initiation could be done when there was follow ups at my end. you people never took initiation to do the same at that time and you are asking me to re-initiate it now after one year. This is not acceptable. I need consumer forum team to intervene in this issue and provide a proper solution. I can't blindly re-initiate the policy again after having issues with aviva.
Till this time i would have got my principle and the interst if the same was invested in a FD with any bank. I didn't receive my interest and they even took my 7k rs from the principle amount. I want my money back and this is purely aviva's mistake that their site was having issue. As a consumer i have been denied of my rights.
