I had taken a Life Insurance Policy from Aviva Insurance company in June 2007. This policy was sold to me through an Aviva agent (Aseem). As per the agreement, a sum of Rs. 2000 would be auto-deducted on 24th of every month from the salary account. Accordingly, I am paying the premium till date. I was planning to surrender the policy and I approached Aviva. According to Aviva, they will deduct 24,000/- as the surrender charge based on their calculations.

This is a big cheating by Aviva and no other insurance company in this world can do such big cheating. I have searched in the Internet and found that many people have been cheated by Aviva exactly in the similar with the same or different policies.

    I have taken an AVIVA LIFE LONG UNIT LINKED TEMPLATED policy from indusind bank on 2007 onwords. At the time of buying the policy i asked that guy about hidden charges and all,they said , dont worry there wont be anything like that and you will get an unexpectable growth as well.They have committed like, as per plan after 3 years you can withdraw the amount.After a long time (2010) i gone there and discussed about the withdrawal,they said u have to wait for 1 more year and its like notice period and that time u will get a #%$@^ growth also.(During these 3 years it never gone to profit level and it was around 6-7 k loss) FEB 2011 :- I called them regarding this,As they mentioned earlier , it was an unexpectable growth to the company(AVIVA). sshhhhh..Plz listen calculation and surrender value coz..total i paid[protected]/month) thats for Tax saving (Saved Tax - 12000%10 =1200*3(3 years) = 3600) .Withdrawing time (SurrenderAmount) = 14000,Paid Amount =36000
    Profit(To AVIVA (not for me)) = 22000 Rs.For the purpose of saving 3600 Rs tax, i lost 22000 Rs.Friends plz dont buy any policy from AVIVA .

      I have bought a policy Nl. ALI 2895499 in the name of SHASHI SAGAR in February 2010 through the policy agent Mrs. Neena Dutta. I have been informed that Insurance will be 100 time of the premium amount. Now . I feel that have been misguided by the Policy Agent Mrs. Neena Dutta and still not support me. As such I do not want to be continue of my agent in my Policy. So Please the name of my agent may be deleted from my Policy No. ALI 2895499 with immediate effect. Further I will run my policy without this agent.

          I have gone through with all the details as you have mentioned and come to the conclusion is as follows:



          1.) At the time of the policy your sales man cheated us by telling that we can cancel the policy whenever we need our money.



          2.) If we are that much educated in term of reading your terms and condition then I think I would have joined your company instead of fooling myself after taking the policy from your company. We are just here to sign and give our money if you come to our city you will find more fools like us.



          3.) Incase your company will not stop my policy from today onwards and return my money with growth then I have no chance but to go to Consumer Forum and IRDA and make a complaint against your company and mind it don't think that I will be leaving the policy amount but I will make you pay to our lawyer as well your lawyer more then what my policy is costing.



          Now making above facts I am here requesting with lots of humble that please cancel my policy and refund my amount with growth .In noway I am going to continue with this policy as if your company is not returning my money now then what will be the guarantee in the near future.



          I am really fed up with your commitments and don't want to conclude this policy and please guide your sales man not to make fool but tell the truth then I promise you will have more and more customers with you.

          We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your feedback and for taking out the time to highlight your concerns to us.

          Basis your complaint we understand that you have concerns regarding premium paying tenure associated with the policy.



          We would like to assure you that upon receipt of your complaint we have thoroughly investigated your case. Your policy was inforced basis the details mentioned in your proposal form.



          We would like to draw your attention to the “your policy details’ section in the proposal form where you have requested for PensionPlus-Unit Linked policy with the annual premium of Rs.1,00,000 and policy term of 20 years. The premium payment tenure is also mentioned in the policy schedule, the Premium Quotation and Illustration Statement, which is enclosed within the policy documents. You would agree that the proposal form clearly states that it is the proposal form for a “Pension Contract”.



          All policy features like the policy tenure, premium payment amount, etc have been extracted from the proposal form and have been effected in the policy as per the proposal form. Your signed consent on this document was understood as an agreement to the features of the policy.



          We would like to inform you that this is a Unit Linked Product designed to give maximum returns on completion of policy terms. Since your policy is a unit linked insurance policy the performance of the fund depends upon the fund option chosen and that the fund performance is directly related to the performance of the market and daily fluctuations of NAV.



          We request you to kindly refer to the Premium Quotation and Illustration Statement which provides you the estimated policy fund value and surrender value post deduction of charges, during the entire policy tenure at assumed rates of returns of 6% and 10% for each policy year with the charges applicable.



          We also would like to bring to your notice that product is very well suited for your requirements and can generate high returns in the long run, though, at no point are these returns guaranteed. We would like to draw your attention towards the PQIS enclosed within the policy documents for a better idea of the

          Returns the policy is deemed to accrue in the long run.

          We would like to confirm that all customers are provided with a “your right to reconsider” option (‘Free look Period’), wherein the customer if dissatisfied with the policy terms and conditions or the benefits available under it, is entitled, to bring it to the notice of the Company and request for cancellation of the Policy within 15 days of receipt of the Policy. However, we did not receive any intimation from your end highlighting concerns in the policy during this period.



          In light of the above facts, we regret that no change/cancellation would be possible with respect to your existing policy number APG2840519.



          Further, we would strongly recommend that you continue with the policy and enjoy the long term benefits of the contract. As is mentioned in the PQIS, it is anticipated that the policy shall generate high returns post the completion of a longer tenure.

But now as i have asked for my money he is saying me to again deposit Rs.100000. otherwise i won't get my lac of rupees which i paid earlier as he has done a policy with that money now i came to know this.

          Now i need my money back WITH GROWTH as promised by your sales representative. I am also enclosing the details of your certificate which i had received. Kindly refund my money or else i will go to consumer court against you.

            Dear sir,
            This is for kind information that I Ashish Seth was advisor in Aviva Life Insurance Company under Sales Manager Tanmay Rai. At that time as per training provided by company through its trainer Ms. Jayasree Karmakar I sold around 11cases of LIFE BOND – 5 with pitching as Single premium feature as per training norms & supported by Branch Manager Dhiraj Kumar and also sales Manager Tanmay Rai. According to training if client want then they can treat their policy as regular premium policy by paying their subsequent premium but if client pay only one premium than policy treated as Single policy premium.
            Sir I am so fade-up because now company telling to our client that this policy is only made for Regular premium policy which is not genuine at all. So I am requesting to you that plz provide me clarification in such issue as soon as possible.
            I am already submitted my complain at aviva varanasi's branch office on the date of 03-sep-2010 but company not give me any revert.So I'm not able to give any solution to my client

              My actual investment is:
              2007-08 : 18,000 for 3 years
              2008 - 09: 18,000 for 2 years
              20009-10: 18000 for 1 year

              The principal investment is 54,000,
              Considering min interest rate 8%, I would have been earned 10K towards interest, Total 64k, (Refund value)
              The agent who pushed me to take this policy assured me that this is a high growth bond and the return will be at least 20%,
              And min 3 years lock in period, post which you can break this and you will have good return and minimum you will get 10% return,

              However when I surrender it on 27th Jan 2011, the Customer care team has called me and informed that the refund will be only 34K,

              It means they are deducting 20k from the Principal amount ignoring the interest earned from it,

              Hence request to look into this and help me in recovering, and this type of action is not at all acceptable. And also people should be aware of how these type of companies cheat the public in day light without giving proper information while taking a new one,

                I would request all investors to be extremely careful while doing any business with Aviva. I lost 1,00,000/= Rupees. I was told by Aviva that my policy had lapsed and no surrender or renewal was possible. Their agents mislead you about the schemes, and never explain to you anything properly. There may be thousands of cases like this, where people's hard earned savings has been usurped by this company. How a company can take away 100% of your investment for any reason is not understandable. They must be making crores cheating people like this. Better, Stay away from AVIVA altogether.

                  This is regarding AVIVA POLICY NLG 1248265, which was done by ABN AMRO on my behalf.

                  I have paid 3 installments for it Rs. 87000, which amounts to 2,61,000. I have come to know form your customer services that the Policy has lapsed with paid up POLICY OF 1,31,000.

                  Which means that :

                  1) AVIVA is saying that policy can not be reinstated
                  2) AVIVA has taken early surrender charges more than 1,22000

                  At present AVIVA is telling me that you can take 1,31,000 now of the 2,61,000 or you can wait because the policy will fluctuate with Sensex fluctuations.

                      My policy is auto terminated as i couldn't pay but after 5 years they are supposed to pay back whatever the value is. It is terminated on 11th December and I requested the call center to help me expedite the refund but they have a standard answer "Please wait for 15 days from the date of termination". I was been promised different dates.
                      On 20th December - I raised a request to which some lady calls back says you will get the money on to your account on or before 24th Dec. On 24th December when I check with them they refute their words saying "We promised you that we will process before 24th December and it takes 24 to 48 hours" Then on 26th December - they say "please wait till 6 pm today. You will receive the fund and i got a message also that it is processed and when I call them to let them know it i not credited - Please wait for 24 hours'. On 27th Dec- They say "Due to technical issue it was delayed and we are working on it. No date or time is committed. I have been following up with them relentlessly because of personal emergencies" but no help. Worst thing is call center associated behave like as if they are favoring me by giving the information available in the system. I wrote a mail to complaint desk - This is very funny. Firstly, they say we will get back to you in 4 days and after 4 days another mail saying "We will process in 3 days". I myself work in customer service profile but if a promise is delayed - I go to the process owner and escalate and get it sorted but there is no urgency exhibited by agents. They are way too casual. They will happily say "Please wait for a week and call us if you dont get money

                      To say the least - Pathetic experience

                        The machine has been purchased before 5 months only and not working properly. Complaint has been done many times at local service centers and once at Delhi Customer care for replacement of the machine with new one but after many assurance to resolve the problem, no actions has been taken till date.

                          I submitted my policy documents and all other required documents on 8th Dec for surrendering my Policy no. NLG 1270490, and they assured me that they will pay me my surrendered amount within 15 days but after passing out 21 days when i contact them again on 29 Dec, they told me that my surrendering request of policy is not accepted by their company so they send back my policy documents through courier to my old address which I never received back and they told me to submit request again for surrendering policy,which I refuse as i all ready submitted all required documents earlier and on asking about reasons that why my policy not accepted as surrendered policy they told me that on 7 Dec when i talked to their customer care representative on phone that representative him or herself launch a complain after knowing that I am not satisfied with their company and wants to surrender the policy.
                          Now its their inter company matter and I got harassed in it .I was in very much need of money and i was counting on this refund amount but my all efforts goes to vain because of this irresponsible company people and even when I told them that I will go to consumer court with surrender receipt that i have with me ,its hardly make any difference and jalandhar branch operational manager said so irresponsibly that yes you can go to consumer court as he himself cant help me in settling this issue.
                          Now I already raised this issue with IRDA also and hereby also with this complain.If one sincerely launch a inquiry in this company deeds they will find out many victimized customer .

                              I have purchased from Aviva Life Insurance Company the said policy No TSA 1199470 on[protected] and today I have shocked to receive a Cheque of only Rs 5074/- (Axis Bank No 950161 Dt[protected] towards after Maturity settlement of above said policy. from Insurance company.
                              On going through it, it has observed that they have settled my said policy as “Surrendered Process” instead of “Payment on Maturity”. While I submitted all the related documents only after receiving their letter dt[protected] clearly asking the necessary documents, to start maturity process. Even after this letter, I was constantly getting SMS/Phone calls from their various offices to submit all the documents in order to get maturity payments timely. As the Maturity date was[protected], and I paid all the ten premiums installments timely. When on 6th December’2010, I visited their office at INDORE to submit all the documents, one of their office boy on reception counter given me a form to sign on it. And I signed in good faith without under standing the form was actually to surrender the policy and not was for maturity payment process. I was confident enough as I have paid all the ten premium installments timely and. I was assuming the maturity process takes some 8-10 days time and I will get a post dated Cheque of Rs 17,000/= + Guaranteed Addition Approximate Rs 8000/= Total of Value Not Less Then Rs 25000/-
                              It is indeed really harassing that even after payments of all the ten premium installments timely, and just a fortnight before the Maturity date dated[protected]. The Insurance Company adopted Surrender process instead of Payment on maturity, to settle the very small policy.
                              I therefore request your honor to please look into the matter and ask the Insurance company to rectify the mistake of their office and arrange recover me my balance sum Approximate Rs 20,000/- at your earliest on receipt of this letter and oblige. I also agree to sign any other documents, if necessary. I do hope you will treat the matter as URGENT.

                              I really feel your problem as I have been cheated similarly by AVIVA. Read my Post 'Stay away from AVIVA Life Insurance...Expect No help from IRDA '.

                              Also, nothing is going to happen that can get your money back. It has been swallowed by AVIVA. This is how they make money and the returns are better than their investment.

                              You will receive many letters that your case will be looked into but finally nothing will happen. You can read my incident. I have complained to IRDA, SEBI etc but nothing has happened.

                              So, it is better you accept the loss.The only way to have solace is to spread their misdeeds to everyone you know.If you can turn away few of their Customers, that will hurt where it pains.I am already doing this.
                              I always discourage my friends and colleagues to invest in any policies of AVIVA.

                              Also, never ever invest in any ULIPS, do not trust any insurance agent. Always go through the documents before investing.

                                I (Jayesh Koriya) was working in AVIVA LIFE INSURANCE CO. LTD. from
                                Aug-2007 to Feb-2008 as FPC (Financial Planning Consultant), My Employee Id being, 9189. I've resigned
                                from the duty on 29th Feb 2008. I am following up for my PF withdrawal amount from last three-four months. I have also submitted the required PF Withdrawal form to your office through local SM Mr. Karan Sukhadia @ surat aviva office, who had helped me getting it filled up. We both asked local staff for the completion of the form. But, somehow it has been rejected from your main office. So, i'm asking for your help now. What I suggest is that you please intervene in this matter So, that I don't have to wait & be furthermore harassed for my PF amount....


                                So, I request you to help me in this manner as soon as possible.

                                  i paid up the policy in feb 2009
                                  after hearing that the amount which was paid by us as a premium for insurance was actually subjected to market risk

I am husband of Deepika Chopra who had given a complaint against Aviva Life Insurance Company as how they befooled her and captures Rs. 70000/-. I just want to say few words that all the sites meant to provide justice on Internet are not is a position to provide any type of help to any body in INDIA and also the helpint agencies like IRDA is also not in a position to help the people. My wife had made uncountable requests to the Company Aviva, its represnetatives and even Board of Directors and Chairman & Managing Directors but I think all the people are of same kind.

                                      This was with ref to my Policy no ELP2184864, the policy was taken 2008 thru IndusInd Bank, Andheri (E). The premuim amount payable is Rs.40000/- per annum. When i paid the premium in Oct 2009 i was told i can be paying the next premium in instalments.

                                      In Nov 2010 when i contacted ur call centre on 11th or 12th nov 2010 (i dont remember the exact date ) i was told i can pay the premium in instalments and ur representative will be coming to collect the amount. Your collection representative did come on 15th Nov to 2010 to collect the cheque but he was not ready to take the Chq for Rs.10,000/- as was told by your customer service executive.

                                      THIS STORY HAS BEEN TOLD TO UR COLLECTION REPRESENTATIVE, TO HIS SENIOR AND I DON'T KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE. BUT STILL THERE IS NO OUTCOME FROM ALL THESE COMMUNICATION.

                                      NOW I FEEL I HAVE DONE A VE....RY BIG MISTAKE OF TAKING A POLICY FROM AVIVA LIFE INSURANCE


                                      On sending the above details to Aviva support desk,, the message i get from Kala Sankaran
                                      Customer Services Group " take a walk, pay up Rs40000 on annual schedule". Sincerely, my family has number of LIC policies and never had any issues and the biggest blunder we comitted was to go for Aviva.. Trust seems to be premium in insurance sector and Aviva surely lies at the bottom.

                                        The customer Care unit and the back office is not effective at all. They chase you every minute when they want to get a client, but once you surrender you are treated like a dumpster, The surrender money doesnot come up until and unless you chase them.

                                        they always have some or the other excuse ready and takes for ever to return your money, i am still waiting for mine.
