I have been trying hard with Aviva Team to find answers to my cheat complain logged against Aviva's Policy Sales Team. I wanted to withdraw from my policy & need my hard-earned money in my tough times, but they have been not responding to my complains. It has been almost 3 months now (since August).

They had blocked my Online account & are not reverting on how can a policy lapse when only initial two yrs payment was committed. I have duly paid premium for 2+yrs initially. Also, to file a consumer complain, i asked them for scan copy of the documents I signed, but they are not giving those documents.

They have been deliberately delaying the process & harassing me by not providing true & latest information on my policy.

I have a policy with Aviva, wherein their Sales Person "Pradeep Chauhan" had sold a policy to me with great commitments. I was told to pay complete sum for the Year 2008 (i.e. INR 30,000 in Jan’2008). Also, I was communicated that in this policy, I can pay premium for two years & then can still continue policy without paying any premium by writing a simple mail. Also, any time I can re-continue with premium payments by duly informing Aviva Team after 2 initial years.

After I paid for 2.5 yrs, I requested them for stop premium payment & continue policy. Without notice Aviva team blocked my Online Login ID and I could not access my account.

Now, since August I have been following up with them for the same & they are not reverting back.

I received last mail on 21st September stating "concerns are being re evaluated by our Complaint Redressal Team and we are investigating the same with utmost priority". But then on nobody reverted from there team.

My hard earned money is stuck with them & they are harrassing me by not giving my money back when it is most needed.

        Please help resolve the issue

        Regards,

I have an Enhanced Save guard policy nsg1189733 with Aviva and i have paid 6 premiums of 54000 Rs each. Investing with this company has been the biggest mistake i have made. They are charging more than 10000 Rs as fund management charges per year for what?? To give me a loss?? I have invested 324000 Rs in all and today the fund value is 307000?? I am told by a Mr Prashant at the call centre that this is because the market is down. I understand that the market is down but I have invested over a period of 7 years.. My point is that the growth fund NAV has gone up from 18 in 2005 to 34 in 2011 and secure fund nav has gone up from 11 in 2005 to17.5 in 2011 but in spite of that, there is a LOSS in my statement?? Because each month they are eating up my money in your cunningly designed policy, which leads to lesser units. The policy documentation is also very cunningly designed and has extremly technical and misleading data. I have other unit linked policies which i purchased at the same time and the maximum yearly fund management charges taken by them are 3000 rs unlike 10000+ Rs which is being charged by Aviva, thus eating away the units..The other unit linked lic policies have even given me good profits. people need to stay as far away as possible from Aviva as it gives the most misleading data. Kindly help

Fund management charges are not acceptable, fund is making profit but that profit is taken by AVIVA as a charges.

            Hi Folks,

I am here with another case of cheating loyal customers for petty gains. This time the cheating is done by the premium company AVIVA LIFE INSURANCE (INDIA). Surprisingly, the complaint and customer care department is also not ready to heed despite giving all the proofs. Such cheaters should be chucked out of India. I took two policies of Aviva Dhan Vriddhi. The company claims that the returns are minimum 7% with interim bonus and the sales team claims that the actual benefits are minimum 9%.

THIS POLICY ACTUALLY GIVES LESS THAN 4% RETURNS. While I proved them wrong and requested for surrender, they took my original policy docs with other papers and told me that the acknowledgement would be couriered to me. Later on, they did not submit the docs and finally the POOR policy was imposed upon me. I have all the mail proofs. Noida sector 18 branch head Vijay Pratap Singh is a cheater and a liar as he told later on that no such surrender request was given.

I have wasted hell lot of money with Aviva earlier also. This time while I analyzed their actual returns and requested for surrender, they duped me and finally CUSTOMER CARE imposed the policy on me. Most of the insurance companies are making fool of common man and robbing them of their hard earned money.

BEWARE OF SUCH CHEATS WHO ARE SELLING WRONG POLICIES AND TAKING HIGH PERKS/ MAKING FOREIGN TRIPS ON PUBLIC MONEY. THEY SHOULD BE EXPOSED.

            Regards

I agree with Puneet . Be ware !! I have also taken DhanVriddhi . What they say and what is actually they pay is completely different.
This has to be legally action taken . When you surrender policy after a year u wont get anything . this is nevet told by sales executive and the sales person says u can pay for 3 years and then stop ror with draw. But if we withdraw then we will be getting 30% * ( total premium - first premium) which is totally loss for us .. These are never told to us

Sir, I am Widow and I want to tell about fraud made by the Agent of Aviva Life Insurance Company to me. An agent namely Kavita was living nearby my house at Chandigarh. She came to know that I was getting retired from job as I was working only as a Adhoc teacher at Shahbad in Haryana after the death of my husband in the year 1991. She pointed me time and again to take an Fixed Deposit scheme from Aviva Life Insurance Company and always disturbed me while I am on my way to Mandir or elsewhere. Sir, I am having a son who is living with me I discussed with him about the matter and he clear cut refused to take any scheme from Aviva but after disturbance of agent time and again I called her in the absence of my son. Then she assured me that I have to pay Rs. 50,000/- one time and I will get more than Rs. 80,000/- after 3 years. She send some people for my medical check up and then take Rs. 50,000/- from me. She also told me that I would get Insurance Cover free. When I got my policy my son said it is no a FD scheme and asked me to call the agent. I immediately called the agent and she took me to her branch of CBOP at Sec: 17, Chandigarh as my son is having touring job so he was not able to come with me at Bank. There branch manager assured me that this is not exact Policy and we will change the same and provide the FD Scheme at the earliest. Then I called them time and again initially they gave me assurance but after 3-4 months they never pick up my phone. Then I went to the CBOP Branch at Sec: 17, Chandigarh and initially I came to know that the agent is now not working with Aviva and Branch Manager is on tour and after some others visits I came to know that Branch Manager was also not in job. Sir, then I requested the CBOP, Branch time and again but they refused to help me then I went to Aviva Branch at Sec: 9, Chandigarh and wrote them letter but all in vain.

Sir I want to request your goodself that now I had retired from my job and not having any source of income. I am only requesting you please help me provide me justice or please tell me what to do.

IT IS A CLEAR CUT FRAUD OF AGENTS

              PLEASE HELP ME

                Sir,

My father, Mr Jagdish J Parmar had taken policy from your company. He was a having list of policies of your company.
Now suddenly due to heart failure he expried as on 20th May 2011. At that position no body at home was aware of his status of all policies he had activated. Than we had sorted out his policies and other policies of our family member and submited for claims.
Among his policies, one of the policy vide Policy No RPG1818601 shows the status as Lapsed as per your company norms.
I would like to explain you what actual picture was being created at the time of issuing policy. He was being convinced for the policy of Pension Plus Regular-Unit Linked Product Plan. The premium decided was for Rs.200000 annually. But after it was issued he realized for the huge amount of premium and he requested the agent to change the plan and make the premium quarterly for Rs 50000. But the agent himself didn’t came and he send another person and the new person had not made changes in the pervious policy rather he had issued a new policy. This was a fraud done by agent. He was told to change the existing policy RPG1818601 and he had issued a new policy vide policy no. APG2331730. For the premium worth Rs.50000/- quarterly. Now my father was in impression that the plan has been changed and he was unknown for the new policy. So he didn’t not made and query in this regard.

He was not in position to sustain both the policies and he didn’t paid the premium for Rs 200000 than onwards. This caused that the policy had lapsed.
I , Jignasha D Chauhan , daughter of Mr. Jagdish J Parmar would request you to have certain solution in this matter and advised me for the further proceedings.

Dear Existing Customers of Aviva and Potential Customers,

Please be aware that your data is not secured in Aviva. I am a customer of Aviva for the last 5 years having two ULIP based policies which I have purchased in Hyderabad and Bangalore through my Banks. In Feb 2011, I started receiving calls from one Mr. Deepak Kumar of Aviva Gurgaon Corporate Head Office stating that my two policies are not doing good and due to recent changes in IRDA rules, Aviva has appointed me to work with existing customers and help them restructure their policies so that they can recover their losses caused to them. He had all my details and sounded so confident that I called him to my home. He came along with me the complete details of my existing policies and mentioned the losses I have suffered. He then offered me Aviva Dhan Vridhi plan stating that if I invest Rs 40000/- (equivalent to the premium paid by me for my existing policies) for 10 years, I would receivearound 30 Lakh by the end of 15th year. he told that I do not have to pay premium for my existing policies. He showed me the computation. When I asked how can 4 lakh become 30 lakh, he said that this is a special program launched only for the existing policy holders who have suffered losses and Aviva is doing this to meet their regulatory requirements. He sounded so genuine and confident that I not only purchased the policy, I told him about my other policy details I had with Birla Sun Life and Max new York Life.

When I received my poplicy (Policy No: TDW3078104), I was suspicous as I did not see any specifics to what was discussed. I called him again and he again came to my home and reassured that this has been taken care in their systems. I was convinced and did not do any thing for the 14 days grace peiod where in I can return the policy. After almost 2 months or so, I was very proudly discussing Aviva's gesture to my Birla Sun Life agent and then he pointed out that this was not the case. I called up the Call centre and they also cnfirmed that there is no such scheme going on and my policy would be returning me Rs around 5.8 Lakh. I immediately went to their office, made an official complaint on 9th May 2011. they reverted back to me on 19th May stating that since I have signed on all the documents, they do not see any thing wrong and hence no action would be taken. I was out of the country till 31st May. I again went to their office and met Mr. Shekhar Bharthi (Mr. Deepak's Boss) and Mr. Harpreet Marwah (Head - Direct Sales Force North) on 18th July. So when I met Mr. Shekhar he mentioned to me about my policies which I have with Birla Sun Life. I was surprised and I asked him that how does he know about my policies. He did not give me any answer. Mr. Marwah was kind enough to listen to me patiently and on his advice I again gave a complaint to Aviva. They again rejected my compaint on 23rd Jul stating the same old reason without talking to me. Since then I am trying to reach out to Mr. Shekhar and Mr. Marwah.

While Mr. Marwah do respond to me at times stating that he is busy and will follow up, I am not confident that anything with happen, hence I have decided to create awareness amongst all people. I have few basic issues:

                      1. How is my demographics and financial data visible to anybody, is my data not protected at all?
                      2. Mr. Bharti's talk that I had policies with Birla Sun Life proves that he was very much aware of what Mr. Deepak was selling to me and how he was selling to me. There is a complete rot in Aviva and they are only interested in booking policies so that they can meet their targets.
                      3. I understand that there is a grace peiod of 14 days, but what if the customer has not seen or do not respond within 14 days. Shouldn't there complaint division understand the nature of the problem or thay are as insane as there Sales team is....

Guys sorry for such a long mail, but I think it is important to bring all facts in front of all of you guys.

Please be aware of AVIVA going forward.

                      Regards,
                      Manish

I HAD PURCHASED AN ONLINE TERM PLAN FROM AVIVA IN WHICH COMPANY ASKED FOR RS12000/- AS ANNUAL PREMIUM. I HAD TAKEN IT FOR RS 100 LACKS. I GOT MY TEST DONE AS DESIRED BY THE COMPANY BUT AFTER 15 DAYS I GOT ONE MAIL IN WHICH THEY MENTIONED THAT YOU HAVE TO PAY ADDITIONAL MORTALITY CHARGES OF RS 6000 ANNUALLY. I REFUSED TO PAY THAT AMOUNT AND TOLD THEM THAT KINDLY REFUND MY AMOUNT BACK NOW THE ARE DEDUCTING RS 3300/- FROM AMOUNT ALREADY DEPOSITED BY ME. THIS SHOULD BE COMMUNICATED TO ME EARLIER THAT WE WILL CHARGE RS 3200/- IN CASE OF CANCELLATION AND MAY CHARGE RS 6000/- EXTRA FOR A POLICY OF PREMIUM OF RS12000/- !!!! A GRATE JOKE ON PART OF COMPANY. I APPEAL TO ALL NOT TO PURCHASE ANY POLICY FROM THIS KIND OF COMPANY AS THEY ARE HABITUAL OF THIS THING AND YOU ARE BOUND TO COMPLIY TRHEM AS YOUR MONEY IS WITH THEM.
THEY ARE ACTUAL ONLINE CHEATERS!!!! AVOIDE THEM

                            Dear Team,

It is very surprising to see the response from Aviva Life insurance.People only follow you when u need to buy the policy or in actual words when they want to sell it to you.

Today its been 25 days when we are in actual need of our own money any their is no response from aviva also making us run from pillar to post.horrible experience with aviva life insurance.

My husband in pune has appliyed for payout of policy on 5th july and had submitted all the required documents duely checked by branch banager(Mohammad Shaikh). We have received copy also from that office. He had commited the amount posting to be done in 10 working days.

But to our surprise since monay ahd not come till 17th we called at callcenter and got to know it has got stuck in Head office and we were not been intimated abt it..We have been running pillar to post and now they say that they need the bank statements of all premimums paid or the premimum slips.

Surprisingly we have submitted the following documents at time of surrender then was it is required again..Not even branch manager had a answere.

                            Documents submitted
                            1. Copy of police fir
                            2.Self attested photo id proof.
                            3.Indeminity bond
                            4.cancelled cheque
5.New address proof.(change of address from ahmedabad to pune)
                            6.Permanent address proof aswell.

Moreover icing over the cake last week again we went to branch office pune and met Mr Mohammad Shaikh) told him the entire story ,he assured the monay shall be posted in 1week's time.

I am Chintan Siriya from Thane. My AVIVA Life Insurance policy no. is LBD2040656. I had surrendered my policy on 21 June and I was told that my refund amount will be credited directly in my account within 10 days. After more than 20 calls, I got my amount after 25 days, on 15th July. On each call they used to give me different lame excuses and kept delaying my refund. They then found that it was their mistake in entering a wrong IFSC code while transferring the amount in my account. Firstly they denied for the compensation for the delay but after when I said that I'll file a complaint in consumer court they transferred just 264/- Rs in my account on 25th July. They have just accounted the interest at 8% of the delay in making the payment, however, the mental harassment was much more than what they have compensated for. Can I file a complaint against them for all the harassment and how much can be the compensation for the same?

I have already mentioned about my complaint earlier on 20th July, 2011 and am resubmitting my complaint again as after my submission of the complaint i received a feedback that I need to register a complaint to the company's customerservices department. This is to bring in to everybody's notice that a complaint for the same has been made to the company and the complaint no. is PROB_07/20/2011_17130. I have not received any feedback on the same. I have also been continuously following up with the company's representatives and I had been assured by Mr. Bhavesh (senior personal at Aviva Company's branch office at Navrangpura, Ahmedabad where I had submitted my surrender request) on 20th July, 2011, that the process was delayed due to their technical problem and the money will be credited into my account by NEFT on 21st July or at the max. by 22nd July, 2011. I received a call from one Ms. Heena from Gurgaon office of Aviva and she also informed me that my money will be credited into my account by 22nd July, 2011. But the amount was not credited into my account by 22nd July, 2011 and when I called up on 23rd July, 2011, I was informed that since it is saturday they cannot give me any feedback until Monday i.e. 25th July, 2011. This is a planned way of postponing the payment as they knew it very well that since after 22nd July, 2011 even if I follow-up it wont be of any use as the office would be closed on saturdays and sundays and they than dont have to bother about it. I called up today i.e. Monday the 25th July, 2011 and now I am being told that they will investigate and will revert back with the updates by EOD. The revert today will be that of the feedback and not the amount being transferred into my account. I am going through a very tough and rough time now as the company is not paying me back MY OWN MONEY and I have to suffer due to them not paying back my money and I have commitments to be met with but since there is a delay from the company's side my reputation in the market is being tarnished and shattered. The company is not going to bear the consequences of my image being tarnished due to their negligence. I feel very low and lost at this moment as I have nowhere to go and see no one to help me out in this situation. Every time I call up the customer care representative of the company I hear a new comment regarding the timelines for the process of the payments. One representative says it takes four days to process the payment in the customers account after the file goes to the finance dept., other one says it takes two days to process after the file goes to the finance dept. and other one says it takes 3 days to process after the application goes to the finance dept. Even after my pursuance to speak to the finance dept. who are finally going to process and who are the one because of which the process is not completed (as explained by the representatives of the company), I am not connected to them. All I get to hear from the company's side is a fresh time-line of EOD's. I want this kind of a public platform to step up and take strenuous action against the company so that common individuals like me are not to suffer at their hands because of their negligency. I hereby request this forum to please look into this matter closely and am willing to come up with whatever information required by you to take actions against such company's. I now have nothing more left in my life as the entire image of mine in the market or with the one's I deal with is shattered. They may not be telling me on me not being able to fulfil my commitments but I as a responsible citizen of this society feel very low for not being able to live up to my commitments that I have made.

                                  Complaint marked as Resolved
                                  Dear Sir,

I had applied for surrendering my policy with Aviva Life Insurance Company bearing policy no.: LMG 1652114. I was not having my original policy documents and hence was informed by the representative of the company at Navrangpura branch that they would require an FIR for non-submission of the original policy documents. The form for processing the policy surrender mentions FIR as one of the documents required for policy surrender. However, it may be mentioned that the form also mentions that it is mandatory to provide the address proof if the address is changed whereas it is not mentioned against the block for FIR that it is mandatory in case the original policy document is not produced. I said that I am willing to give an application for the same that it has been misplaced somewhere but they did not listen and finally I had to make this tiring process of getting an FIR. Once the FIR and all other policy documents were submitted by me on 7th April, 2011, I was informed by the representative that it will take a week's time or at the maximum 10 days and the funds will be reflected in my account within 10 days. I called up the branch office on 15th July, 2011 to know the status of my surrender process. i was informed by the representative that the amount has already been creditedd into my account on 14th July, 2011 and I need to check up with my bank peoples. I inquired with my bank persons and was informed that nothing has been credited into my account from Aviva. Again I called up the branch and this time around I was not entertained and on the contrary I was directed to the customer care toll free number wherein the customer care executive of Aviva mentioned to me that they will revert back to me on the exact status within short time. I did not receive any call from the company and on 18th July, 2011, I again called up the customer care helpline number and was informed that the application has been forwarded to the finance department on 14th July, 2011 and once the application goes to the finance department, the amount will be reflected in the account within 4 days at the maximum and said that the amount should be reflected in your account by today End of Day or maximum by tomorrow noon. The amount was not transferred into my account and I again called up the customer care helpline number on 19th July, 2011 to which I was informed that since the maximum revert back time is 4 days and 19th July, 2011 was the 4th day so I need to be patient and assured me that 100% positively the amount will be transferred into my account by End of Day 19th July, 2011. I checked up my account and found that even on 19th July, 2011 my account was not credited with the amount. So I again called up on 20th July, 2011 i.e. today and the customer care executive said I need to check my account as the amount should have been credited in my account. I informed them that i have already checked the account and nothing has been transferred / credited into my account from Aviva's side to which they said they need 24-48 hours to revert back. I than called up the branch and inquired with the branch executive who mentioned that the aount has been credited into my account on 14th July, 2011 itself. I informed him that 20th July, 2011 is the 10th working day and the amount should even in the worst case scenario should have been credited into my account today. He said he will revert back to me on this within an hour. There was no call from the representative and again on calling up again there was no reply over the phone. I had to personally visit the branch again and was informed at the branch then that due to some technical reasons the process had been stopped. On asking the details of the technical reasons for stopping the process there was no reason provided to me and I was informed that they again need 2 days time to know the reason for the technical problems. I have made commitments based on the assurance provided to me by the company on repayment of my own money and now I am made to suffer by noot getting my own money. The company may give me the money back but time was the essence of this policy being surrendered by me as I needed money and this was my own money which I was informed that would be credited to me maximum within 10 days and accordingly I had made commitments which I am not able to fulfill now and my credit in the market is extremely tarnished / damaged and I really feel very low on not being able to fulfil the commitments. The amount was to be used for submitting a Demand Draft for some educational course and since my own money is not credited into my account in time I will now have to wait for one complete year. This one year means a lot as it will affect the earning potential of mine by that extent. I have been following up since 15th July, 2011 to various persons in the company and have been telling them that time is very very essential for me and so please guide me on the exact timelines for the same and I had been doubly assured by the company that maximum by 19th EOD the amount will be credited into my account and so I have not made any alternative arrangements aswell. I need justice in this regards as I have been passing through a rough, hard and turmoil time today seeing my planning's heading nowhere. I had even inquired initially itself that if in case there is some issue and the process is halted than by what time will I be intimated about the same and I was informed that it would be intimated within 4 working days or maximum within a week's time. Now since they are saying that the process was halted due to some technical reasons than why this was not intimated to me within a week's time or when it was halted. I had been informed that the process was terminated from the finance deptt. on 15th July, 2011 than why is it so that when I approached the company today personally it is intimated that the process is terminated on 15th July, 2011 and now they will seek the reasons for the same. Why this was not done immidiately once they received the information that the process was terminated on 15th July, 2011. Since 15th july, 2011 I had been following up on all the working days but I was never informed that the process is terminated or halted and was infact given the assurance that the process is on and I will get the amount deposited in my account maximum by 19th July, 2011 EOD and finally today its NIL progress.
Dear Sir, We would like to help address your issue. Please write in to us with your policy details on [protected]@avivaindia.com and we will investigate your concern and revert. Regards, Customer Services team
Dear Sir, Thanks for the concerns over the complaint. I would like to mention that I have already dropped a request for this issue over your customer care link that you have mentioned on 20th July, 2011 and the complaint no. is PROB_07/20/2011_17130. However, I may add up that I have not even received a courtesy mail from your end that my complaint has been received and actions will be taken in this matter. Now you advice me to write to you on the customerservices ID without even seeking the details whether the complaint has been made in this regards to you or not!!! This itself shows your helping attitude. Thanks once again for the concern. I am replying this at 11:30 AM today i.e., 22nd July, 2011 and still my account is not credited with my surrender amount which I presume to be my own money!!!

My policy RSG 1435677(save guard) was started in 22/01/2007 for 20 years,I was paying a premium of Rs30000/-(Rs Thirty thousand only) every year. this year when my premium was due and when I paid the premium to company, after about a month they returned my cheque saying my policy is not valid due to some medical reason. when I asked for details no one has even bothered for telling me the exact thing. Now when I am asking for my money which I have paid so far they are not even answering that as well. I am fed up with their no communication attitude. Kindly help me on this issue.

I have opted the policy No. LSG1261034 in May-2006 under the plan of Life Saver Unit Linked of Aviva Life Insurance Company Ltd., with a Premium of Rs. 25,000 per year. On payment of premium on year to year basis the no o[censored]nits based on the market value was credited on my account. The details about the premium paid / units allocated on year to year basis are tabulated as below

                                        DATE FUND UNITS
                                        24-May-06 Growth Fund 1081
                                        27-May-07 Growth Fund 879
                                        29-May-08 Growth Fund 803
                                        26-May-09 Growth Fund 819
                                        1-Jun-10 Growth Fund 714

                                        Total Units allocated 4295

Surprisingly, while visiting the www.avivaindia.com site, only 3395 units is being shown against the total allocated units of 4295 against the above policy.

I have intimated the Branch Manager of Avivaindia, but no satisfactory answer being given by them or units has been credited in my accounts. In lieu of my enquiry, they informed me that the units have been reduced on monthly basis on account of Policy Administration Charge, Initial Management Charge, Regular Management Charge; Mortality Charge apart from the commission is being paid to the agent on year to year basis.

The fact about the investment is that, after investing Rs. 1.25 lacs, the today’s value of policy showing mere Rs. 1.17 lacs.

Having no option left out but to go for full surrender the policy looking to the intelligible benefit, I have decided to go for full redemption of the said policy. While going through the Article 13.4 in case of full surrender of policy, a surrender penalty deduction in accordance with the Company’s Surrender Penalty chart as published from time to time will be applied.

In above case, neither I have received any chart from date of policy taken to till date nor even highlighted in the request form for payout of policy.

While, taking / holding this policy for a period of last 05 years, neither the Company Officials nor agent were explained / being contacted to me while taking such policy.

Under the above circumstances, in case of full surrender of policy, following scenario will be :

1)On surrender of policy, around 22% of total value is being deducted towards early closure of Policy against the terms of 20 yrs i.e net value will be offered to me is around 91,000 thousand against the today’s value of Rs. 1.17 lacs.

2)If I continue to pay the premium on year to year basis for next 20 yrs, every year around Rs. 6100/- (Equivalent Units) will be deducted towards Policy Administration Charge, Initial Management Charge, Regular Management Charge; Mortality Charges, hence marginal appreciation will be getting compared to investment or making deposit in a nationalized bank in a normal interest rate.

I feel that, instead of investing money into such policy, I would have made fixed deposits for 05 yrs, would have earned around Rs. 30,000/- as compounded interest over and above my investment of Rs. 1.5 lacs.

Since, your organization support the consumer interest, put forward to you for your consideration and necessary action from your side to protest the interest of an individual.

Hoping for a favourable reply and action from your side.
