I took a Pension Plan from Aviva India in Mar'08 and received the policy documents with the first premium(?) receipt on 30 Apr. On 5 May, I submitted an application for cancellation due to unsatisfactory terms. On 15 May, I received an acknowledgement from Aviva Customer Redressal Team stating that the "case was being investigated on an utmost priority and we would get back to you at the earliest". On 24 May, I called Customer Service and was told that the formalities were almost complete and that I would get intimation in 3-4 days. I got the same answer on 28 May, 30 May and 02 June. On 03 June, the Customer Service agent said that no one could have told me it would take just 3-4 days, that the matter was still under investigation and asked me for (now hold your breath!) - the names of the customer service agents who had made such a statement! I asked to speak to a supervisor and I was told that the supervisor was "out of office" (in the middle of a working day?). When further queried, the agent replied that there was another supervisor, but that "he/she" was not "my manager". I said that I was not receiving any satisfactory response from Customer Services and that I needed the name of a person to whom I could escalate the matter. After many more "please wait while I put you on hold", I was told that a manager would speak to me later today. (I am not holding my breath!).

I followed up this conversation with an email to Customer Service and intimated the Insurance Ombudsman for New Delhi (Shri R Beri) that I was having a problem getting my refund.

I have made request to Aviva on 5/11/07 for change of frequency from monthly to yearly
in AVIVA’s Janak Puri Branch. On enquiring for the same after one month they replied that your request have not been received in Headquarters as the executive you gave request has left the organization and will be decided after enquiry and they have also requested to deposited monthly premium. Accordingly I have deposited premium for Nov. and dec.2007. in 1st week of Jan 2008 .On regular follow ups we have received a phone call from the official of Aviva accepting their fault & stating THAT YOUR REQUEST have been accepted . Hence send balance amont Rs (24000-2x2000)=Rs.20000/- to be deposited. Accordingly I have submitted a cheque No 961962 of PNB for Rs.20000/- on 11/01/2008.The Aviva authority has enchased that cheque on 16/1/08 as per detail in my my pass book of PNB and also Aviva agreed that they have enchased the amount.. Inspite of all that they have withdraw the monthly premium from my account for Jan, Feb, March - 2008..
I have enquired the same from Aviva in Ist week of June 2008, they replied that your policy is in paid up state. When I asked them that I have deposited Rs 20000/-than why this situation arises. They have answered that they have returned the ch.which I have not received till date.
One thing I want to know that why they have enchased my cheque and why they want to return after expiry of five long month that only after expiry of policy. They want to take extra money on account of late fee when I have deposited more than full year premium.

I have written a letter to AVIVA on 17th July '2008 to cancel my pension policy as free look period in on and I have Right to Reconsider . When I went to their Ranchi office to submit the letter and the original policy as required, they refused to acknowledge receipt. When I met their Branch Manager, Jagdish Walia, he made me sit for 1 haour and saying all crap and finally refused to accept the documents. I felt very offended and am withdrawing all my policies from Aviva and of my family members too!!
Disgusting Co.
When their Branch Manager can misbehave with a customer imagine what would be the training and attitude of other operational staff!

Now they will make a big isue out of cancelling the policy and refunding the amount.

    Dear Sir,

    I have taken a policy from AVIVA in June 2005. My Policy No. is LLG1179591. I am paying my premiums on quarterly frequency and Rs 2500 is my quarterly premium (10, 000/- Annual). In April 2006 I have deposited Rs. 5000/- by cash as my renewal premium against my renewal due in 23 March 2006, and 23 June 2006. In January 2008 I have paid my last premium against 23 Dec 2007. According to me my next premium is 23 March 2008. But when i was going to deposit my next premium in April first week I come to know that one of my deposited premium in April 2006 is reversed and I have to pay Rs 5000 to make my policy inforced as it is in paid up mode due to non payment of my 23 Dec 2007's premium. I submited an application on 9th April 2008 to the Company regarding this I also submitted all the photocopies of RPR's that I have. The company's Operation Executive told me that the company's RPR is not the proof of the premium deposit. I depositd my renewals thaough CASH only and the receipt is the only proof that I have against my premiums deposit. Yesterday I received a letter from the company's complaints department that it was a technical error that why my policy was in inforced and I have to pay the primiums that are due from 23 Dec 2008. The total premium deposit by me till date is 27500/= according the company this amount is 25000/=. The paid value of my policy is around 5000/=. Please do the needful to make my policy inforce and if it is not possible than try to provide me all the paid premiums as I am not be able to continue my policy like this.

      Hi,

      I am having policy with Aviva India after taking I felt that I have chosen third class service provider in insurance industry. Still I am waiting for their replies on below matter.

      a) Monthly charges which company detects never being communicated to customer.

      b) Online Module for premium Payment is just showcase - not working at all. hence we can't pay them online why the hello facility given to customer which is use less

      c) Fund switch option never works - also if there is limit of maintain min Ratio in any fund then why bloody their system taking any amount while doing fund transfer/switch.

      d) Called executive to collect premium chq but no one responded till date

      e) Anyhow if we success to pay premium amount they never send confirmation receipt till such reminders.

      f) NAV summary Qtr / Half Yrly never send through email/ courier.

      World third class service from Aviva India

      Will never recommend buying from them...

      I am fully agree with this. Worst service. I regret my decision for choosing Aviva Insurance.
      I sent them two cheques, and they have lost one of them. Now they have put my life long policy in paid up mode. Customer care is absolutley painful- really a hope less organisation.

      They are no bettter then LIC.
      I completely agree with Aviva's poor customer service. I have lodged a complaint more than 15 days back and I just get assurances that the matter is under investigation. They mentioned a wrong address on the receipt & policy which was not as per the address proof. The policy was supposed to be of single premium. The policy never got delivered as the agent took the delivery to be delivered by hand and never gave it. Aviva did not bother to contact me when hey did not get the premium and converted the same to paid-up mode by adjustng premiums against the units. Finally the nits have almost gone down by 25% and now they do not agree their mistake.
      My case is worst than others. I sent my premium cheque of Rs.100, 000.00 of a LifeLong Policy No. LLG1172827. Their Gurgaon Office returned it after 50 days as unpresented. I have now sent it to MD at their New Delhi office and to my utter surprise even after 30 days, it has not even acknowledged. They have also put my policy as paidup. The worst service in Life Insurance Field. Customer care is also painful - really a worst organisation.

      You sent me two passwords to check my online policy status but none of them correct. Your site flashing wrong password.
      I am fully agree about the feed back. I am also one of the sufferer of world's worst customer service provider Insurance company Aviva. Aviva always remember customer at the time of collection of premium amount but never come back with the receipt of payment after paying the premium.

      I my case I get 100 of calls/SMS at the time of premium due but never get single communication after submitting the check. N no. of times I have reported to customer care but all are in vain.

      I simply fedup from it and planning to withdraw my policy.

      Anyone please suggest the procedures.

      I fully agree. AVIVA is a pain in the always. Their customer service portal never works. Forget about online payment, they don't even have a premium receipt generation module. No one please take their policies any more. The *best 3rd rate customer service* I have ever come across.
      I have make a request for chang of address and change of nominee, the aviva change the both but two months spend but i have not received original documents till date. I contacted with the no.2709046 ms.Deboshree, prachi and others say me that we have send the same to your address and till date we have not received the same. Its really painfull for me that we have received our cards and mobile bills in time but this customer service documents cant received till date even after i have received my payment sleep within 10 days on make of request for change of address and change of nominee

      I am 200% agree with this. I am also a consumer of AVIVA and now I have realized that AVIVA is very very Big CHORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR company in this world.
      I too fully agree, AVIVA makes me fool..AVIVA company executive & the broker Dr. Pramod Bansod gives me wrong presentation on the policy and I believe them and paid huge investment. Today I don;t have any option left other than to continue the stupid insurance policy and pay the huge premium. And if I go for the paid off option then they are deducting 75% of my total money that I paid to AVIVA.. does our government has any control on them.. I think I loose my all money and all has gone to Sachin Tendulkar.. This is suggestion to all new customer please please think 1000 times before selecting AVIVA or any similar companies..

      I am fully agree that AVIVA India is the most faltu company in the world. I just come from AVIVA office. I have a insurance with aviva and paying 3yrs premium. Just to know I asked them how much I'll get if I withdraw the amount as I have already paid 3yrs. He told me that they will deduct 60% of my total premium !!!
      After paying 3yrs, they will not give me the total amount, rather than they will deduct 60%. But as per the representative sent by them; that time they told that I'll never in loss !!! more over he told to get the full amount I have to continue 10yrs. If I kept my money in bank that is much good than all these 3rd classes MNCs.
      I suggest all the ppls think 1000 times before invest with these faltu company.
      Dear Sir,
      I have paid three installments in a lifelong policy, the fund value has dropped to 77% of the original amount paid in three years, there is no way I can even get this amount now as there would be further cuts if I want to opt out (as high as 60%). This is totally different to what I was made to understand by the agent, I feel toally cheated and can do nothing except see the hard earned money go down the drain. At the same time other companies are providing reasonable returns.
      The e-service of AVIVA is pathetic, switch over option does not work, transparency to the money invested and returns thereof is totally missing.
      Sachin Tendulkar should be sued for advertizing in such AVIVA ads, he is a mean professional with no loyalty to country/club/ or the Indians at large, surely his miseries will further add up in the IPL, as it is, he and Saurav Ganguly were a big burden to the Indian team therefore no win in world cup during their era.
      DO NOT VENTURE NEAR AVIVA FOR GODS' SAKE.

      Aviva India — Offices not functioning

      Last two weeks I am trying to pay my premium in the Cochin Offices but it seems like the offices are closed with police protection.. Any idea what to do in this situation and is my investment safe?

      I completely agree with the above comments, Most stupid and irritating interface for online payment, Which says that you can pay your premium one day before the due date or 30 day after it now what the hell is this :)...Customer care never responds no monthly payments...There need to be a legal action on such companies...

      choose aviva to loose money
      Here is my worst experience. I purchased life long policy in 2005 with Balanced Fund option and paid all the premiums regularly.All of a sudden, I got my fund details recently which is showing 90% units under Secure Fund(NAV - 18 Rs) and 10% under Balanced Fund(NAV - 41 Rs). With this much difference in NAV, my policy value is halved due to this blunder.
      I never requested to change the fund type or received any intimation from them. When called to their customer care, they are saying we have to call only from the registered number. Why the hell they have such help desk if they cannot make security check for customers and clarify the issues. What if the registered number is stolen or lost?

      This is in continuation of a policy complaint where INSURANCE OMBUDSMAN HAS CALLED FOR A HEARING ON 20 TH Nov 2014 at cochin.For a signed agreement of Rs fifty lakh as sum assured for an yearly escalated premium around fifty four thousand, the m/s AVIVA. company unilaterally brought down the sum assured by over 15 lakhs with the resultant sum assured being around 35 lakhs. without the consent of the consume/customer at the time of issuing the policy.Over all these four years and over period, request for reinstating the policy as per the original signed protocol, or to refund the premium was blatantly refused by m/s AVIVA.Bulk of communication requesting to solve the issue proved to be a sheer wastage of tlme and money apart from the mental strain all these four years.
      Following the call by a personnel from legal dept of aviva[protected] for a settlement before appearing in front of insurance Ombudsman I had made the suggestion to settle in the following way ie (1) pay the amount in full along with interest ON calculation it will reach Rs 21600 approx(2)Pay a compensation amount for loss of precious time, money, and the mental strain :though the request to the CRO was for a compensation amount of Rs 25, 000/-an amount of Rs ten thousand in addition to the interest at 10%pa can be considered if I am not put into further difficulties.POLICY No ALA3066387.
      If the company or the legal person who contacted me over phone is sincere in the action an urgrent positive response and action in the matter will be highly appreciated since the confirmation of attendance to the hearing has to be made shortly as per the direction of THE HON OMBUDSMAN.
      IF agreeable the settlement amount including interest and compensation may be credited to the following sb a[c via ECS FACILITY with a valid proof thus.On doing so the original documents of the policy shall be returned promptly, Dr Santhosh kumar mn

        I am paying a yearly premium of Rs.5000/- . When I reviewed my policy status last year, I was surprised that approx. 3300/- are being deducted under various head for operation of my policy. When I enquired about the same by visiting branches personally they always asked to give a written complaint. On submitting, the reply received are all subjective that the deductions are decided by the company. To sell the policy the representative visited 10 times but when I visited their office 4 times no one is even attending personally to listen and provide solution to the problem.
        My policy No. is LLG1019413
        Even I have given written request for withdrawl of my money two months before but unfortunately till date I have received no response from AVIVA.

          I have taken ULIP policy from Aviva and premimum is paid monthly Rs 1500/- by ECS on 25th of every month. But when I have checked my policy statement Aviva is allocating Units under my policy after 4-5 days of ECS debit date. That is Units are purchaused at higher NAV after 4- 5 days.

          When I have complain for the same intially they always told this is bank fault not avia's.
          But lastly after continous folow up for one month they agreed and replied they will correct the statement and post the NAV as per ECS Debit date and send new statement with in a week.
          In month of march 2008 again they have posted NAV after 3 days of ECS debit.

          But till yet they have not send any document after correction of NAV under my Policy.
          Already lots of mail I had written & many times visited to aviva's center at pune and doing Follow up with customer care but NO positive response I have got.

          They are not sending any letter that this will not happen in future and always NAV as per ECS debit date will be used for purchausing Units.

          I am not able to understand Now What to do? and How to handle the matter. as this gives us huge loss in long term in terms o[censored]nit accumulated.

          Can any one suggest me how to write complaints to IRDA against AVIVA . Or any one provide better solution for the same.

            This is bringing to your notice that I had applied for the Life Insurance Plan (Only Unit Linked, ELSS plan) through your company agent Mr. Karnik Sharma (Code No. Y0760555) in single premium mode, but when I received the bond, I found that the premium mode was yearly. (All the form were filled by your agent, Karnik) Please note that I am a retired person and I will not be able to pay such a big amount every year.

            Hence, you are requested to either change my payment mode from yearly to single premium or refund the whole premium, Otherwise I will be compelled to take legal action against you.

              I have submitted my premium by cheque to the branch office of Centurian Bank Jamnagar Gujarat India 0n 10th of March 2008. Till date the amount is not debited from my account. There is no one to give me the reason 'cause you have such a stupid and uncultured customer service. They do not even know how to talk and respect the customer. I have made a biggest mistake of taking a policy from such a stupid company. You are a big cheat. I will make sure non of my friends will have any business with you and you will regret 'cause I have a big friends circle.

                    I am really fed up with your customer care call numbers and with your service. No one on your customer care desk picks up the number and there is no other way to contact your company. I receive mail/communication from your company only when my premium is due but after that no once cares if any receipt of the same is to be given to the customer or not. With such a poor service, I am afraid I will continue my policy with you.
                    Kindly arrange to send me a copy of receipt asap after this complaint.

                      I have paid Rs.20000/- for a Retirement Policy of Aviva Life Insurance . The amount has been debited from my Account on 14.08.07. But inspite of repeated remainders no action has yet been taken. Since no action has been taken in 7 months I have requested the Co to refund the amount with Interest 15 days back. But all in vain. You are requested to look into the case and arrange to refund the amount immediately.

                        thank you for your prompt reply . i am giving my complaint in brief as under:-my birth date is 17/04/1958and iam not your existing customer but i had applied for the policy thrrough your mumbai agent mr. anil posteand payment is to be made by my husbands credit card with abn-amro bank whose emi is rs. 3,000/- (total amt.is rs.18,000/-it s as per your tie with the said bank as it is assured by yr. agent after confirming with yr.office but when my husband made first emi of rs. 3,000/- we come to know that my policy proposal was declined/rejected by your office (ref.policy/proposal no. aviva life ins.-[protected])and we are receiving daily harassment calls from abn-amro for balace payement towards the policy which we never received .till i sent you email complaint your mumbai agents were deceiving us that their h.o had already spoken to abn-amro bank for reversing the said amount of rs.18,000/- and aviva will pay us back our first5 emi of rs.3,000/- which was paid to abn-amro bank due to yr. mistake pl. check details with your mumbai office mr. anil postemob. no.[protected] and his sr. mr. mhendra mob.no.                         TAKEN A POLICY FROM AVIVA NO RPG1516476 IN 2007. SEC PREM DIPOSITED IN MAR 2008 RS 45000. I HAVE RECT AND BANK STATEMENT. ON 06/11/2008 .A LETER FROM AVIVA, THAT MY POLICY LAPCED DUE TO NONPAMEMENT .IS IT POSIBLE .ZAIDI LUCKNOW
