[Resolved]  Canara Bank — False and iresponsible Information Given by the manager

My Father has given a Canara Bank cheque that needs to be paid to the SBI. The cheque amount is around 5000. The SBI bank representative called my father and told the cheque was returned by the Canara bank due to insufficient amount; However my father was very confident that he has around 20, 000 in his account. He went to the canara bank located at Saidapet, chennai (where he maintains his account) he asked the manager about this, when the manager checked the account of my father he himself found that there was more than sufficient amount available in my father's account and he also gave an lethargic reply asking my father to go and collect the cheque so that he will clear that. Is this the way a leading and prestigious canara bank train their employees to speak to the customers?

Our boss has given an FD for renewal for 1 year. Bank has provided interest rate 8.75% per annum but on their website they are showing 10%.

What we can say about Canara Bank ?
I have sent several reminders to my complaint regarding my ATM card but I am yet to receive a reply.
May be I should send a Reg.A/D to their H.O. and if they still dont budge to higher authorities.

Most respectfully, I beg to state that when I was withdrawing 20, 000/- from the SBI ATM, located at chandni chowk, Sekhpura, Bihar on[protected], the transaction didn’t complete successfully. Because, there has become some technical problem in ATM machine. The transaction details are, Date[protected], Time 12:12, ATM ID-SIAN[protected], Card Number -[protected], TXN -9447.FYI, when I checked my A/C, then amount 20, 000/- was deducted from A/C.I have also complained about this problem in SBI branch Sheikhpura on[protected].

Therefore, I requested to you please check and do needful as soon as possible because I am facing economical problem.

I was also using your netbanking facility for a couple of months, my login was Account locked for user id VINOD1969 last month due to my wrongpassword entry. Since i went physically to my thousandlights branch and wrote a letter about this incident and submitted to the branch manager lastmonth 3rd week. The staff who is handling netbanking told me they have to inform H.O, Bangalore to release the lock in my netbanking Account.Since today it was not released and i couldnot access. I visited thrice to the branch and reported to the same staff on this concern and she told they have already sent a mail on this matter.Please reply me about the status on this issue since iam not able to do transaction because of nonavailibility of fundtransfer facility from your bank to my other bank Accounts. The staff are not able to give me proper explaination of netbanking facility and status of my netbanking account.Pls look into this matter and do the needful at the earliest.

I suggest that you immediately lodge a complaint in the consumer forum, Mylapore against the bank for the wrongful dishonour of cheque.
I have already lodged a case in the consumer forum Mylapore against Canara Bank, Arumbakkam for their wrongful dishonouring my cheque of Rs.730/- issued to Hathway Internet even though I had more than 20 thousand rupees in my account at that time.
The consumer forum has directed the bank to pay me a compensation of Rs.50, 000/- towards the mental agony they have caused to me as well as to pay my legal expenses.
So dont delay. File your complaint in the consumer court. For any guidance you may call me at [protected].

canara bank is slow everywhere they want money but not customers...they r a old bank and have their old customers so they dont respect new ones...they r least bothered abt the service they offer...they take more than 20days to clear a outstation cheque of their own bank...when both the banks are canara they shud release it soon ...but canara bank offers worst servvice...it doesnt have money in its atms...it cant give good service in any way...why ran a bank with old arrogant people...who have no patience for customers...put all old people in backoffice and give young enrgitic people the chance to work in ur bank so that we cant get good polite service...technology has improved a lot and so go with the technology why still use old methods and be slow...come canara bank wake up to ran with the race...or u will be behind everyone...

My complaints against Canara Bank Manager Mr.Vishwanath, Thekkatte Branch.

Last monday (i.e 11.05.09) i went Canara bank, thekkatte branch from Mangalore to Thekkatte (around 90 kms) regarding enquiry of housing loan i met Bank Manager Mr.Vishwanath, when i enter his cabin he is talking nonsense he is telling he dont have time for given information about housing loan, i told him when i have to come but his reply dont know... i convience him lot but he is not give.

Sir please tell me we cant take housing loan in your bank, for your kind information i am working in Larsen &Toubro Ltd company. And one more thing i have alredy taken One lakh loan in same bank if you want check up my repayment i will give my Account number SB A/C No. 3603. every month i am paying installment correctly.

Is this is way of talking customers, Bank manager will not giving loan in his pocket na why Managers are talking rudely with customers. Is this the way canara bank train their employees to speak to the customers?

I hope canara bank will take necessary action on this.

So many time I contact to Sr. Manager Mr. Ajay Kumar Singh he always said computer is not showed your name please come after some time or day. I also applied for E-Banking service but unfortunately that also not provided to me. In that case I want to close my account due to frustration.

My mother in law is having SB A/C in both Bangalore and Chennai.Both branches are core banking(CBS) If she wants to tranfer for example Rs. 60.000/- from Chennai to Bangalore is there any commsission for the same or any amount will deducted from her account. Please clarify.

I am having an account in canara bank . I am applying for a dmat account.
my consultant has asked me to get a address proof details from canara bank having account in your bank. when I approched the bank, I got the reply that verification letter cannot be given.
I want to know, as a customer, Canara Bank does not have the permession to give a letter.

Canara Bank — Rs 10000/ missing from account

On 1/7/2009. I have withdrawn Rs 2000/ from ATM Chennai. Rs 10000/. amount is missing in my balace amount.I have sent a letter to Branch manager oc 1/7/2009 through courier. as on now no reply.

I am account holder in St.Mary's Road, Chennai. I went to Perambur branch on 10.07.09. The teller lady was very rude. One illitrate person applied for DD (challan filled by me) she rejected the challan stating that he did not mention the exchange amount. After that I filled the exchage amount. After that also he rejected the challan and told the person to go to other counter. Secondly one more teller told to a customer stating that we cannot honour a cheque for Rs.5000/-. Teller told that to the customer to get the money from the ATM. The person told that she applied for ATM card three weeks before. Is this way Canara Bank is working.

In my (St.Mary's road) branch all are very polite. Why can't this be in other Branch also.

Canara Bank — i have not received cancellation amount till date:11/07/2009

I had booked a e-ticket (PNR No. [protected], Transaction ID-[protected] and Settlement ID: 593501) of Rs. 1070.00 through IRCTC on 14th Dec, 2008. and cancelled it on 14th Jan, 2009. But the cancellation amount of Rs. 930.00 have not credited in my account tll today
I also have bad experience with canara bank. Rs 10000/ is missing from my SB account on 1/7/2009. Compliant letter was given to Hosur Branch.As on now i have not got my money back. I am most worried.How can i meet the expences of one month?. Please credit on my account.
