Hi,

I have applied for fixed deposit on friday 28.11.2008 in canara bank branch anishabad, patna. I had asked for FD interest rate for 2 years on 28.11.2008 and staff member told me that 10.5% for 2 years. But, when i received the FD paper it was mentioned the date of FD 03.12.2008 with change of interest rate 10% for 2 years from 01.12.2008. Can you please guide me to file complaint against this bank?

    Dear sir,
    I am amit wadbude, i have saving account in canera bank (prabhadevi branch, Mumbai),
    I had traansaction on 1st Dec. 2008 of amount 1500 Rs. from canera bank ATM, but didn't get Rs., but amount had deducted from my balance, I had complaint from ATM Branch but they are not accepting, they are saying that "You have to complaint in bank from where your accout is /".
    so i did complaint but till now i donot get anything.

    I transacted from ICICI branch atm SHOPPRIX MALL SECTOR 61 NOIDA-201301 dated 09/01/2009 around 1 pm rs. 6000/-.it showed
    transaction declined.My account with CANARA BANK, Munirka branch savings A/C NO.25473.when i checked my a/c on night it showed 6000/- had debited from my a/c.I talked to the respective CANARA BANK PEOPLE.THEY TOLD ME TO GO TO ICICI branch people .THENI talked to the respective ICICI PEOPLE.They said it happens.the money will return on your a/c in 2/3 days.And they also said that the max. limit for returning money is 15 days.i am convinced.but money haven't came.and after going to the bank 2nd customer care executive said we cant do anything you go to your bank.i really get frustated. I HAVE BEEN responsible customer o[censored]r bakn from last 6-7 years.And treated like this.I request you to take necessary action to get the money back .Thank you

    I am doing withdrawals by ATM Debit Card.and the withdrawals made on 28th june 2008 for Rs.1722/- (Rupees one thousand seven hundred and twenty two only) Transacion No.ATM[protected]withdrawal No. 10828761. Instead of debiting once it entered twice by no. 10829019.
    The same complaint was raised before the branch no necessary action has been taken till date.
    So I humbly request you to go through the matter and take the necessary action at the earliest.

        the canara bank at davangere, pj extension branch is deprived of work force. whenever i go to the bank they are hardly 4 to 5 employees in the bank. and if we question the employees along with the manager are giving some irresponsible answers. they r saying that the employees are on leave for 15 to 20 days. and ask the customers to come after 15 to 20 days. no service. leave about service no proper response atleast. i dont know if its the condition of such high profile nationalized banks, where the customers have to go.

        i request the concerned to take suitable actions if at all it matters in this country.

        Previously, I also had an experience of the same sort. Canara bank has expanded business in
        multitudes of crores but never expanded their workforce. They have no replacement for retirees and transfers. If you look at their service, it is deteriorating due to staff shortage - and the management never recruits young people( while qualified, energetic & capable young men are looking for jobs!).
        Branches with 60 people about 8 yrs ago are today with 20 people today- while Deposits and loans and custoomers have grown 10 times. All in the name of computerisation .


        Another starnge thing, they dont give customers the chance to interact in their own language. They put Telugu people in Tamilnadu, tamil people in Delhi, Biharis in Ahmedabad and Kerala people in Bihar- as if you dont have any choice. These staff suffers due to home sickness and related problems and customers find it difficult to intract effectively.

        I dont know why !!! May be They r experimenting with a new HR technique.

        Only way to shut up these is to switch to another Bank. Slowly, the foolish management will understand. I hope so.(Otherwise hold a Dharna in their Head office, but who has the time these days?).

          I HAVE MADE A CASH WITHDRAWAL OF RS6000.00 ON DATED 29.03.2006 AT 8.59 AM FROM ATM OF CANARA BANK, RAMGHAT ROAD, ALIGARH. MY CURRENT ACCOUNT NO 2242 IS IN LOHAMANDI BRANCH AT AGRA. DUE TO ELECTRIC FAILURE MACHINE STOPPED AND I COULD NOT GET MONEY FROM ATM. I HAVE REPORTED THIS MATTER TO MANAGER OF THAT BRANCH, HE REPLIED THAT YOU REPORT THIS MATTER TO YOUR AGRA BRANCH.             All canara bank siwan branch account holders I obsereved that the dealing of the canara bank siwan branch staff with client very poor and cheep i will be try to inform all siwan district that avoide to open the account in above said branch because this a worst branch of the bank.
            Sir,
            I have an NRI account with Canara Bank Ponkunnam Branch in kottayam Dist. My Account Number is 1634. The customer support which is provided by the branch is very poor, especially in the communication with customers. Several times i send a request to the manager through email regarding the statement of my account, but they didnt send the repley. From last week onwards i send three mail to the manager but still now i didnt recive a repley from the branch.
            If the tings are going like this, i planned to stop the transactions with the branch. Because the other banks are sending emails & sms for every transactions (deposits and withdrawal). But from your branch no repley for customers request.
            So kindly take any action to provide a better customer support from this branch

            I am working in Doha-Qatar and wanted to open an new NRE account with your bank at West veli street, Madurai branch. I sent application form along with all the required documents and requested for ATM Debit card and Internet banking facility. My account was opened and i received the pass book and cheque book. However i did not receive ATM Card and internet banking facility. I have been trying to call the branch for the last 15 days and no one is answering the call. Also i sent many mails to the branch manager, but no reply at all.

            These complaints are just routine practice for Canara bank. I have difficulties in dealing with CANARA BANK SIWAN. They never issue bank statements, customers stand like beggars in front of them. Bank clerks talk rudely to customers. Also their phone numbers are rusty, contacts, emails, interaction... ALL SUB-STANDARD.

            I hate going to that bank and I have started moving funds to other bankers. Despite plenty of requests, I never get my account statements.

            Look at their objective SERVING TO GROW...GROWING TO SERVE...wow... fairy tale !!

                My father Late Sudhir Sarkar, who expired on 20th July’ 2008 had his savings account no. 5008 with your Sarat Sarani, Ballymore Branch. After his death, my mother Smt Ila Sarkar had been to your bank on several times to get the money lying in her husband account. She was asked to fill from like ‘Hindu Male Dying Intstate form (NF150)’ in her first visit, Locker from in her second visit, and again on her third visit she was given another set of ‘Hindu Male Dying Intstate form (NF150)’.

                On all the occasions, none of your bank staffs were courteous and they misdirected her either due to their lack of knowledge or deliberately or they were casual in dealing with customers. I feel this was done by your employees due to her ignorance on the subject or inability to counter your staff.

                Considering her harassment, though I stay outside my hometown took leave and went to your branch on 20th September’2008. On visiting the branch, I understand that by mistake as acknowledged by your Branch Manager, a form of Locker opening was given to my mother with an instruction to bring it in dully filled in condition along with the certification of Panchyat.

                Ultimately, I had to meet your Branch Manager and he denied to hand over the balance (though it is very nominal) in cash and insisted me to open an account of my mother to transfer the money through DD or Cheque to avoid any future obligation though the other beneficiaries (me & my sister) had already given no objection to pay the money to my mother. After this whole episode your manager assured me that he will send a inspection team to my address for verification but it will take some time as there is staff shortage in your bank. Interestingly, my address had been verified by your bank official 5-6 months back at the time of my father’s sickness, which ultimately took his life. Unfortunately, after more than another on month no action had been taken by your manager.

                In the view of the above, I sincerely request you to inform me by what standards of service provider like you unnecessarily harassed my mother who is 68 years old. Even if your company rules allow this type of service, is it not bad to misbehave/harass an old lady? I think it is not a single case of my old mother, it happens with other customer in such a fashion.

                I sincerely appeal you to investigate the matter through your own channel and its findings corroborate my complaint. I expect your action will become the torch light for others.

                    i am an account holder of canara bank Arumanoor branch.a/c no 12230.On 15th oct 2008 i submitted a check of state bank of travancore, Neyyattikarabranch.This bank is just 8 km away from canara bank Arumanoor branch.Only on 22nd oct 2008 they posted my check for collecting the money from state bank of travancore, neyyattinkara branch.So on 28/10/2008 i complaint to the senior manager mr. Manoharan one who is sitting in head office of canara bank statue Trivandrum.Mr.Manoharan telephone to the branch and told me to collect the money on 28/10/2008. So i went to Arumanoor branch, but the manager was not willing to give my money.He says, only on 31/10/2008 he can give the money.How long you take to clear a local check?Eight days they kept my check in their branch, is it my mistake?Why i should suffer because of staff's laziness?

                      I am having an NRI A/C with the canara bank, town hall road branch, Madurai for the past two and half years.I had sent INR 75, 000/- to my account on 23 August 2008 and till today it is not credited to my a/c, when enquired I was told as below,
                      1. D.D not recieved even after one month
                      2.When reported thro the Al Fardan exchange I was told the a/c name and number is different and cannot be credit in the a/c without confirmation.
                      3.Al Fardan exchange provided with proof of delivery(which was sent thro professional courier), then accepted &told D.D was misplaced.
                      4.Canara bank asked for stop payment and told to issue Duplicate D.D for me from Al Faadan Exchange, Abu Dhabi .
                      5. Al Fardan confirmed for stop payment to the canara bank(F.D) madurai .
                      6.Canara bank (F.D) replied payment was collected on 29 August 2008 itself by canara bank, town hall road-madurai.
                      7.The proof of the above transaction & corresponding letters will be presented against necessary action.

                          This is about the employees at canara bank located at basaveshwaranagar (branch), bangalore. The employees working in this branch have to go for some attitude training or basics of how to speak with people.

                          When i went and asked about my cheque amount which was not been deposited in my account even after 8 days, there was no proper reply, when i asked this with the bank manager, he blocked my atm card since i had less then mininum balance, in my account, i even mentioned that i have deposited 2 cheques totalling 20, 000 Rs for that matter, 8 days before. He was not in mood of listening (typical for anyone in that bank!) and though he blocked my card from using it.

                          Anyway, i had cheques to withdraw money after waiting for 2 weeks, my amount was deposited in my account. I gave a cheque in the morning, they asked me to come at 2:30 pm in noon, not only for me, i have seen some old people waiting for long time, and employees here are taking their own time. This employees don't understand that people, don't have the patience to wait in bank for such long time to get the amount. I have seen other employees their talking harh, shouting at customers for no reason, i think for them, people look like some wild animals coming to bite them.

                          To get my atm card after a week it was blocked and taken back by an atm machine, i had to go and ask 100 people in that bank to get my card back, and they give a phone number to get the card from another branch. There they say some other reason, same thing when i called up the customer care.

                          WOW, canaran bank service to the customers are too damn slow. I would wish the employees there go and take a long nap in their home, instead of wasting peoples time in the bank

                          Is this way canara bank operates? Is this the way you treat your customers? What if me or someone wants money for emergency use, and wait whole day to get the amount? Sometimes the ATM machines won't work and same problem continues with the other atm in b'lore city.

                          I guess it is better some senior person from the canara bank have a regular check with banks in other branches or replace them. Manager of that particular branch is of no use. Or if this goes on, i would not recommend any one to open any type of account in canara bank.

                          Canara Bank — ATTITUDE PROBLEM

                          I am a student trying to apply for an education loan at our local Canara Bank, Nagercoil. The manager, a real gentleman by nature had directed me to an officer in the bank who is in charge of loans and the like.

                          The person starts off with a very unpolite, 'come after 15 days' ! I wanted my work done; I explained that i needed this to be done as early as possible. The officer takes his own sweet time and hands me the loan application form.

                          I am a graduate. And I am so well sure that a normal person like me would not necessarily be knowing all bank formalities in filling up the form. I asked the person if he would give me a small idea of it, for which he gives me a reply ' Is this the way you've done your college ?' . I stayed patient and apologised for being a simpleton.

                          Since I am pretty new to all these formalities and bank vocabulary, I did not feel embarassed to ask the person who my 'co-obligant' was. And the reply he gives me this in reply... ' So you don't know your father's name ?' ...

                          This is humiliation and hatred of a higher order. Why this ego? I am a tamilian. The only difference between me and the person is that he is a malayalee. Is this even a reason ? Aren't we all Indians ?

                          I did not want to argue... I left the place with him cursing me, ' With this attitude you'll never come up in life' .

                          What should I do now ? My blood boils ... I need my loan and i need justice and respect too.

                          I talked to the manager about this. But the gentleman is helpless. Why ? because not just this officer, a plenty of others too have sported this attitude .

                          These people need to learn how to deal with customers. And how to show some respect !

                          I am not stopping with this one complaint ...

                          Its same problem in all the braches in b'lore. I wish higher authorities can take some action regarding this matter.

                          Canara Bank — Irresposibility of the staffs..

                          I have an account in Canara bank, Salem Algapuram branch, for the past 16 years, (from 1993). I need my one year bank statement, I approch the Manager with a covering letter. He making initial in that letter and advcie me to contact their staff (name not known). I contact the staff (I think he is Accountant or officer, because he buy the cheques from customers for clearance). The Staff ask me to come after two days for the account statement, because of the lack of staffs. I told him that the Statement is very urgent to me, because I have to produce it to Passport office tatcal scheme. But the Canara bank staf[censored]sed very harsh words, totally he was not ready to help me. After two days I contact the staff again and ask my one year account statement.But he dont care me, he told me that come after three or four days, because all the staffs are in Leave.. Is it a responsible answer?.. I pleased him to do any thing, because it is very urgent to me. (from 02.04.2009 till now, daily I go to the bank, but still I can't get my account statement). The staff speaks very harsh words and he said if it is urgent goto the manager, he will arrange the statement. I was very disappointed in this matter.. And all canara bank ATM centres in SALEM, particularly the Alagapuram branch and Suramangalam branch were very very worst.. Always they are in repair, or no statement slips are there.. Kindly take action..

                          i had applied for the ATM in the month of november 2008 but no ATM CARD has been issued so far.
                          pass book entry is most of the time not possible because the entry clerk shows inability by saying the printer or the computer is out of order, come another day. or they keep on discussing personal matters with the person serving at the nearby counter and they do not take care, even ask to sit on the chair and wait we will call u later.
                          u r requested to go through the matter sympathatically and take necesary action so that the working of the bank can be improved .

                          When i went and asked about my internet banking account, they donot know the status. I given application for internet banking 4 times in a span of 5 months. Still not received username and password.
                          Both the managers Mr. D.V.P Rao(Cheif Manager) and Mr. P.V. Pai (Manager) talks non sence things. When I went on that time lot of people come with complaints. He is telling his system is working good. We shows him problems are happening then also he given same answer. One time he told that other banks are there go and open your account. Why canara bank keeps such people?

                          I have a Saving A/c in Canara Bank, Kalyani Devi Br. Allahabad. I was trying to withdraw a sum of 15000 from atm. The machine was unable to dispense the cash. and also not provide the slip. Even then the money was deducted from my a/c. i have already give a application for that to the bank. thought i not got it back , date of transaction was 3dec,2009 for which i have subimited application on 5 dec,2009.                           This is to inform you that I have applied home loan In canara bank 1st week of May 2010 there was a person name pritesh & srininvasan they update me these are the documents you required for home loan I have already submitted all the documents which was required for home loan my propert verification is done by mr pritesh I have no issue with Priytesh or Srinivasan but i have lot of issue with Mr Deepak for eg he send an email to srinvivasan stating that i have not submitted my 3 yrs form 16, coo-aplicant salary slip, approved building plan, commencement certificate from CIDCO but I have already submitted all the documents I dont think so he know how to check the documents & 2nd issue that mr srinivasn told I have after reciebving that email I have resubmit all the documents on 05/29/2010 @ 4:00 PM but when I call mr deepak on 06/02/2010 he told me I have not recieved your documents which he his absolutely lying and again he put one objection that power of attorney is not registered I just ask him question whatever queries or concern you have in my documents please update me once not like half of documents i have submit again you putting one queries It sounds unprofessional & lack o[censored]nexpirenced I would really appreciate if any senior manager look into this matter and send me email on my email add ( [protected]@gmail.com ) and also i need a clarification on this ASAP

                            I would like state that changing of emblem will never change the behavior of the person. uneducated people are thousand times better than educated people.

                            Canara Bank should educate their employees how to handle the customers in proper way. First ridiculous answering, no proper guidance, insufficient staff, not working of pass book data machine there so many difficulties facing with our Dilsukh Nagar branch, Hyderabad, India.

                            I was maintaining a savings bank with canara bank since last 20years. I observed most of the customers are not satisfying with the service providing by canara bank, Dilsukh nagar Branch.

                            Hence I request your higher officials please first change your minds not emblems.

                            central govt. has issued the notice to pay the sixth pay commission arrears to the pensioners
                            when i went to bank to ask about arrears they are not responding clearly
                            till now we have not received the arrerars so please look into this matter and tell them to clear the amount as soon as possible

                                Today I entered my ATM card into the machine in Indiranagar 2nd stage near RTO Bangalore and it didn't come out.. Today being sunday there is nobody to assist at the ATM..I am residing in Indiranagar and don't know what to do .

                                on 31.07.09 Saterday i have inserted my Union Bank ATM Card in ATm machine Lacated at Kalyan Station Dist. Thane, Maharashtra but didn't came back. please suggest from where & how should i collect my ATM Card.

                                  Dear Sir,

                                  I being an SB account holder of Canara bank and I drawn a cash from nearest Canara bank ATM counter in mysore, Karnataka on 2006 of Rs.2, 000 only. The same been reflected in Pass book also. Later during the year 2007 they debited by account of Rs.2, 000 twice for which I written an aplication addressing the wrong entry for reversing to the Bank Branch Manager. Since then till today 3 managers came and transferred. But nothing been done. Moreover they are charging interest & compound interest on that amount. As our Finance Minister Mr.P. Chidambaram is appreciating the said bank as good service providing organisation and this is what the service I got till today.

I insert my ATM card in machine and after completed process for money I received a slip from ATM with withdrawal Rs. 4, 000 but i did not receive money.After that i chacked my balance there was deduction of Rs 4, 000. But i did not receive single coin.plz help.

Ferozpur, (Punjab) on 26 Nov 2008 of Rs.1, 000 only. I insert my ATM card in machine and after completed process for money I received a slip from ATM with withdrawal Rs. 1, 020 but i did not receive money.After that i checked my balance there was deduction of Rs 1, 020. But i did not receive single coin.

                                  After this incident I have dopsit application in our bank for name of Senior Manager (as you see below )regarding this metter. but till date I see no action on this metter. Please help.

                                      Canara Bank has been promulgating a changed logo and changed working style in the competitive environment. However, when we approach the Bank we are facing the old depleted faces with no energy to serve their clients. I have an account in Canara Bank and the salary is credited there. Inspite of the fact that our salary is remitted through ECS, it takes further 4-5 days more to credit the amount in our accounts. When you approach for updation of pass book, either the printer is not working or the responsible person is not available. It is also felt that they are very upset to do such job for their client and always there is always a tussle for geting a pass book updated.
                                      This happens in Canara Bank, Parliament Street Branch where all the facilities are available but there is a lack of good persons.

                                      when i visit your Gurgaon branch, and ask to open the saving account with your bank and provided Election Id card, Driving Licence, issued from distt. Rewari (HR) athourity as pramanent address proof, and cradit Card statement, HDFC bank account statement, pan card, Rent aggrement for local address, Id card issued by Bar council of Delhi as a advocate, Certificate issued by LIC of India as a LIC agent are not accepted by your branch officer and refused to open my account. He told me that you should open your a/c at Rewari branch only. I also told your branch officer that iI am working in Gurgaon and how can i opprate my account at Rewari.But he ignored it.
                                      I wants to know that as a citizen of Indian why I should not open/opprate my account in Gurgaon.
                                      It is my Fundamental right.
                                      So you are requested please give instuction to your branch officer to open my account at your branch Ess Kay Tower Old Railway Road Gurgaon.
