[Resolved]  Dish TV India Limited — Pathetic Customer Care Cell

Dear Sirs,

My experience with customer care cell of Dish TV India has been pathetic.

I've been away from my home for past 3 weeks. Duing this period the services of Dish TV were not used. When I came back yesterday, I was not able to view even a single channel.

I tried reaching the local franchisee of Dish TV here in pune. I was told that the person would reach my house yesterday evening by 7 PM but in vain. Further when I called them at 7 PM yesterday, I was told that he should be able to make it by today early morning. But again no luck.

So we (self, my son Praveen & My son-in-law Guruprasad) opted to go through the customer care no of Dish TV[protected]. I have had a talk with the customer executives in the sequence below:
1. Do not remember the name: Told us to be on hold so that he can transfer the call to technical team. But technical team didnt pick up the phone for 10 minutes.
2. Puja: Told us that she feels its an issue with dish alignment. For this we need to get the service from their executives and should pay for it. When we asked her about the problems in alignment whether attributes to the bad installation from DIshTV, she forwarded the call to Mr. Sandeep who is her Team Leader.
3. Sandeep: Talked about the complaint for a while and forwarded the call to Mr. Ranjan who seems to be a technical expert.
4. Ranjan: Rajan felt to be a better expert so far and could help us in getting 14 channels on the channel serch option but still they were not visible. He was in midst of resolving the issue but the call got dropped.
5. Pushpa: We called again and got in touch with Ms. Pushpa, who we requeted to connect us to Mr. Ranjan. She confirmed that he is busy and she would book a call back which should be made within half an hour.
6. Prerana: As we didnt receive the call for around an hour, we called up again to customer care no. which was attended by Ms. Prerana and she too confirmed that Ranjan is busy. We asked her to put us with a senior in their team to escalate the matter. She confirmed that she will connect us with supervisor Mr. Varun. But don't know why, the call was abruptly cut.
7. Varun: We couldn't reach this person till end.
8. Tarannum: She looked to be more cooperative lady. But by this time we had lost our patience as it was 12.45 PM. The first call in the day was made at round 9 AM. We asked her to connect us to their manager and nobody else thinking he should be a better help. We were confirmed his name is Mr. Pawan Kumar. Meanwhile she connected us to Sandeep who again came into picture.
9. Sandeep: He now started telling us that it's an alignment issue and we should take chargeable service. This he somehow missed when he had first call with us. Surprising though, we told him to continue what he is doing about the issue. But we confirmed that we would like to speak to manager to convey the problems we faced. He confirmed that he is connecting us right away to Mr. Pawan and again the call was abruptly disconnected.
10. Pawan: We again couldn't reach him.

So conclusion is that spending around 4 hours with customer care team of Dish TV at this moment, we do not have even a complaint number for our original complaint. Further the complaint against the poor service by customer care is also not lodged by Dish TV support team.

When I purchased dishtv on 04/06/2006 with 1 yr package I was told that even if I do not renew I would be able to see fta channels. I did not renew thinking my daughter's study may be affected and however I was viewing some free to air channels.

But about a /two month ago they have discontinued all the channels showing a pop up to contact customer care. To answer to my email they advised me to subscribe for a package to see fta also.

I did it on 24/03/2008 online by paying but only Rs.100 as test basis for one month for Bangla package. I noticed in the net that they have received the money, valid upto 24/04/2008 and advised me that channels would be available by 12 hours vide a note. Again while channel search channels were coming 101 to 325 with heading Big TV which are not accessible.

Now 3 days passed and I contacted several times today 27th through 1860...later learnt that realignment is necessary to be done by technician costing Rs.160/-. But not as final one time. AS They also said that this realignment may be necessary again costing necessary charges. So there may be Rs.100 + 160/- every month even. And out of 30 days thus 3 days gone.

Luckily I have not given 1 yr subscription. So it is better to opt for DD DTH.

My Child Connection Not working from 3 days And alwayes DISH TV people giving us a new complaint number and doing nothing. DISH TV all people giving mental harrassment. See the complaint no. 13439658, 13463443. And now my mother connection also stopped DISH TV customer care agent told us that There is some problem in billing system and gives us a new complaint no 13493017. What can i do with all these complaint nos. If DISH TV all people cant do anything then please refund my total ammount and revert back your connection . Dont do my mental harrassment if DISH TV can solve then solve if not then refund back me . This is highly regret that your service is very worst service in comparision to all other dish services.

Hi… DishTV is the most pathetic customer care service one could ever come accross.
1.Toll free Call center numbers are always busy
2.Paid call center numbers put you through long waiting time before some one responds.
3.Once you could reach the call center executive he/she seeks so many information so you start regretting why you were so desparate to talk !
4.After explaining complete details, the call center executive puts you on hold and the call gets disconnected.
5.Keep on re-trying and same event will repeat for 10 times (believe me… it has happened with me)
6.11th time that call center guy told me that he is not able to fetch my account details on his computer so call back after 15 mins.
7.I also tried to login my complaint through their website which works fine when you renew your account and pay online, but once you fill in the complaint & press submit button … it just refuses to respond !!
8.Tried sending email to both the email ids mentioned above… no luck/response so far :-(
9.My local dealer is an absolute cheat and hence i resorted to make payment online. (no help expected from him any more)
10.Accounting system is utmost clumsy and ambigious… inspite of making annual renewal it still says 3.22 Dr.
11.Annual renewal date is short of 5 months… god only knows why !!! (renewal date was originally 24 may 2008, i renewed it on 21 may 2008 and the next renewal date it shows is 21 Jan 2009) … whoof !!

I don’t know whom should i contact in such situation and regret my decision of buying DishTV more than ever now.
Dear Mr.Shahrukh khan, May be you can help me a little with this? if not..Please stop endorsing such crap DTH service.
This is the most horrific experience I could ever have.
I installed Dishtv only 16 days back. But the kind of issues that I am facing are so much that I am bound to say that I did a mistake.
So many times it happens that I cant view any channels it says that check the installation.
When I call the customer service they simply tell me that a technical guy would come at your place
within 24 hours and do the re alignment of your system.
Infact when the guy came to install the Dish at first he was checking the signal strength by manually
aligning the dish in the appropriate direction by simply guessing. The moment he got some beep sound
he stopped the movement of the Dish and came down from my roof and said its now done.
I told him that the signal strength is too weak why dont you set it at a minimum of 80% ? He said
you will be able to see all the channels dont bother about the signal strength.
I was simply amazed and shocked at sucha reply.
But still I said its ok let it be as it is. One fine Day it rained and I couldnt get even 1% signal.
It was showing that the dish is not connected properly..
When I wrote an email I was told that its a global phenomena that when its heavy clouding around you would not be able to view any channels.
SO why do they cheat people by advertising false claims. I think my cable wallah was a much better option than Dish Tv. because whenever I used to call him he promptly used to send a person to rectify the problem.
I regret my decision of buying DishTV and would advise all people who are reading it that PLEASE
DO NOT BUY DISH TV IN INDIA. IT IS THE MOST PATHETIC SERVICE PROVIDER YOU CAN EVER COME ACROSS.

I have also very bad experince with Dish Tv .They are not bothered about coustomer service at all. I never recomend Dish TV Even to my worst enimies. Customer should unite and discontinue DISH TV connection.
I made a dishtv payment on 17th July through a dealer(Softex Office in Noida) and dealer credited the payment to some other user's account. Since that day I am trying to call dishtv office and dealer, no one is helping. I emailed at [protected]@dishtv.in with the issue and believe me 4 times ( from 4 different persons- Manoj Kumar, Mukesh Kumar, Ashutosh Singh)the customer services department sent me a standard response and did not even bother to go through my query-

DishTV — Dish just never works

I just bought over a new connection three days back through a dealer of Dish Tv. The dealers name is AARR services - Phone number is[protected]. The sales man's numbers are [protected] - Vishal and [protected] - Rakesh.

In fact even when connection was given on Saturday 2nd AUgust, 2008, it actually got registered on 4th August, 2008 dues to weekend.

In last three days, television has caught right signals only for 2-3 hours, the engineer has come twice still no signals.

We called to say, we are not satisfied with this kind of connection and refund our 3990 rupees, they are saying whether or not you get signals, once you have paid money we will not refund. Please help us in getting ridh of this dish tv that has become a nightmare for us as it never comes.

i was not getting doordarshan on dishtv.i lodged a complaint.they told that beacuse of wind dish would have changed direction.but i was getting all other channels.when i contacted service person in goa they asked me to change the dish.they reasoned that since dd & dishtv satellites are different we have to change our dish.for that they are charging Rs.350/- for dish and Rs.250/- as installation charge.if this is the kind of service they are providing what should i do.if there is a problem with the dish they should have changed it free of cost as promised by them.now should i goto consumer court.if so what is the procedure.pls comment

i am also geting new connection in 16/07/08 that time also given 6 month subcription free but still i am not getting 6 month subcription free

My brother bought a Big TV DISH and after installation it was not working so he called several times to toll free no, it was always assured that some technical crew will attended but it has been more than 3 weeks.

There no after sales service as it was promised at time of purchase. Can I lodge a complaint in this regard with consumer forum.

Dish TV India — pathetic customer service and inefficient

My VC no is [protected] and my subscription was cut on 30th november. When i contacted customer care they admitted that it was an error on their part to stop service as they had wrongly overcharged me.i had lodged a complaint no 18085947 on 1st december 2008, 8 am when the customer service promised that corrective action would be taken from 4 to 24 hrs. 58 hrs have lapsed since then and nothing has happened except for the frantic calls i make to the customer care in which they respond that they will call back in half an hour followed by resumption of the services but invain. What is the use of customer care if no action can be taken even in 24 hrs as promised?(which in itself is a long time to take).

dear sir, one more complaint of such type against dishtv india's customer service is that after so many efforts, online and through customer care contact, dishtv failed to solve the problem regarding renewal / recharge of package. on line renewal using dishtv prepaid Oxigen generated PINs does not work properly. ( the irritating thing is that purchased dishtv prepaid ITZ card PINs generated through oxigen outlet are of no use in such conditions!). may we expect dishtv to improve their customer services of all types including online internet services to reach in the maximum homes of customer availing DTH?
Hi Sir,

This is to bring to your attention that I still do not have access to the channel for my Dish TV Decoder inspite of the fact that payment has already been debited from my Credit Card through the internet banking payment that I made dated 05 February 2009.
Please inform me immediately as to when the channels will have access again as it is very incovenient on my part.
