[Resolved]  ICICI Bank Credit Cards — Wrongly levied Late fees and Interest Charges

Hello,

I have been using ICICI Bank Credit Card since last 8 years. This is the 1st time I have faced a problem from ICICI Bank Credit Card department and the issue remains unresolved.

I the month of Feb 2009 I have to visit out of station on a Business Tour for 23 days and I had missed by payment due date for which I had called the ICICI Bank Credit Card Customer Care deptt and expailed them my situation. They confirmed me that the interest and late payment charges shall be credit once they are levied and I just need to call back in March 2009 and get it credit.

I did as I was told and called up the customer care in March 2009 for reversal of charges. They confirmed about the reversal. I paid the amount deducting the interest, late fees and its taxes. When I received the new statement in April 2009 the charges were still showing and also new interest charges along with taxes.

I called up the customer care deptt again and after some discussion they said they will work it out. I again made all the payments to the ICICI Bank Credit Card for my usage of the current month.

Still the problem remained unresolved and the same issue continued in May and June statement. I gave them call every month but the problem remained unresolved. The amount of charges as interest and late fees had been piled upto Rs. 2,318.40 in 4 months. After lots of discussions I received reversal only to confirm for the month of June 2009 i.e. Rs. 491.17 (1 month). I was fed up with the follow-up and hence I switched my useage to another Credit Card after making all my purchase payments.

Currently, in the July 2010 statement the balance has piled upto Rs. 6,400 odd and ICICI Credit Card representative is giving me 8 to 10 calls daily for settlement and harressing me to settle for Rs. 4,000/-.

Please help me sort out the issue.

ICICI Bank Credit Card — interest charges levied by icici bank

I am holding icici credit card for last 2 years. Last year due to
icici bank my cheque got bounced Due to that I faced lot of problems
but after regular follow-ups my charges got reversed. First I was
told to make first payment of 10000 rs which I made. After that
regularly interest was charged on my card as I was making partial
payment on my card I regularly followed up Kanpur office and customer
care center that please give me some relief regarding my interest
charges but there was no response from their side they always said
that it’s under bank policy that not to reverse the charges. I have
sent mail to all grievance departments but no action was taken I have
pasted all the conversation. Till date I have been charged around
8000rs as interest charges. Mam in December again due to bank mistake
my card was misused on irtc site due to which I have to face lot
problem I have to close down my card also. They reversed my charges
but they forgot to reverse service charges which after regular
follow-ups got reversed. Sir I just want some relief in my interest
charges as its very difficult for me without any job to pay 8000rs as
interest charges.
MAM I JUST WANT TO KNOW THAT WHEN A CUSTOMER MAKES A MISTAKE BANK
CHARGES INTEREST OR LATE PAYMENT (FINANCIAL BURDEN ON CUSTOMER) ON
HIM/HER. BUT WHEN BANK MAKES A MISTAKE NO PENALTY (FINANCIAL BURDEN)
IS CHARGED THEY SIMPLY PASS THROUGH BY REVERSING THE MISTAKE or
CHARGES. AT LAST IT’S CUSTOMERS WHO HAS TO SUFFER IS THIS A VALID
JUSTIFICATION. Mam I want an easy solution regarding this problem.

ICICI Credit Card — levy late fees

Dear SHEETAL,
SOMEHOW i have a knack of getting you to help me solve my credit card problems with your bank yet again an outstanding payment of 512/rs and sure withold a slapped late fee penalty of 400/rs. IS there any reason for this I do not think your company has any value for customers like me whose track record is worth seeing all payments are always on time. I am convinced you all just want to make money.my card no is[protected].please resolve or cancel my card I am fed up with your services.incidentally Ipaid 550/rs but please do not miss the late fee of 400/rs. regards COL R N ISSAR.
