The delhi ground staff of indigo is completely unhelpful and up. Misspooja (Customer services executive) and mr neeraj just so unhelpful, non-co-operating and unprofessional. I was traveling leh-delhi on 22nd of april thru jet airways. My flight was to land delhi at 8.30 am but their flight was delyaed 5hrs due to technical reasons. I had to catch a delhi-pune indigo at 2.30 pm same day. My jet flight reached delhi at 1.40pm andby the time i checked back on the departures gate i just missed to check in on time by five minutes but both ur officers just refused to help. I explained to them the reasons and also got a delay certificate from jet airways. Being in the hospitality industry they should have understood that we were late because of a genuine problem relating to the airline industry itself. (Note: the flight to pune had not yet taken off nor the gates were closed. They had just closed the check in five minutes back.) but the two officers in charge refused to help and acted as if it was not their concern. I had to book another spicejet to pune at 9.40 pm. Although i had to shell out more money again and also spend 8 tiring hours at the delhi airport what remains the question is that - if indigo is not concerned about their customer relationships and satisfaction why do they have customer relationship officers at all??

Dear Sir,

I, Mrs Kanchan Malhotra travelled from New Delhi/Mumbai on 19 April 10 in Indigo Flt 6E187 Dep 05:45 pm Seat No. 5A. My samsonite checkin Bag on delivery was found totally drenched, lock was missing and and was ripped off. Immediately, I brought to notice of Ms Carol (who was on duty at the belt) and opened in front her and showed her the contents. All the clothes were fully drenched and my expensive sarees n suits were colour bleeted n totally damaged, due to no fault of mine. Carol was very rude n said it was not our fault n responsility. On my repeated request she spoke to Indigo Manager, Mr.Umesh, to come and attend to my grevience but he lied and made me go to the departure to meet him. Airport security helped me and saw the state of my bag and allowed me to go to departure. Mr Umesh kept me waiting for and hour but never showed up. I then met the duty officer Mr Mehorhosh who sarcastically and indifferently told me to go to the Police Stn. But the security officer in turn advised i should meet the Airport Manager. He heard me out very nicely and summoned Mr. Mehorhosh. They discussed my case, saw the state of damaged clothes n bag and requested him to compensate me but Mr Mehorhosh refused any resposibility. In conclusion, I earnestly expect that being a responsible Airline, and due to no fault of mine, I have been made to suffer mental agony and financial loss of expensive clothes. And had to bear the rudeness of your staff. Im sorry to say, that I have been travelling domestic/international but have never experienced such behavior and irresponsibility. Once the bag is checkedin its surely the Airlines responsibility ? I expect proper compensation and favorable response immediately.

Kindly forward this letter also to Mr. Rahul Bhatia (CEO/Indigo) for his knowledge.

Thanking you,
Mrs Kanchan Malhotra

Hello Sir,

I am seriously shocked and speachless by hearing an incident happened with one of my friend. One guy by the name of Ajay in Indigo Airline, Delhi is openly ask and provide a job of an airhostess in response of having bed with him for a day. After that only he provides an appointment letter.
There would be no rounds of an interview. Only a telephonic interview in which he ask all sorts of sexual related questions and at last ask to bed with him.
Such things are happening in Aviation Industry ( INDIGO AIRLINE ) what is administration dept. is doing? Is it like that they also aware of it and supporting it too?

The customer service provided by Indigo Airlines is pathetic. I travelled with my 2.5 year old son from Bangalore to Kolkata (on 2nd April) , 2010) in one Adult ticket (Indigo airline) and it was a smooth journey. While coming back from Kolkata to Bangalore (11th April, 2010), I was asked about the age of the child and was asked to purchase a ticket immediately. When I went to purchase the ticket, Ms Ratna at the counter asked us to pay Rs. 11, 070. I asked to talk to a senior person, and I was directed to Mr. Pratim Mukherjee, who actually knew nothing about Customer Service with the way he spoke to me and told me that it is clearly mentioned in the website that we need to carry a Birth of Certificate for the infant. When asked that then why did not they stop me for vigilance in Bangalore only, he said that he cannot repeat the same mistake committed by the bangalore staff and Kolkata is different from Bangalore (as if the Bangalore belonged to a different company).I told him that I would have cancelled my tickets in Bangalore itself, or could have purchased other airline's tickets, if I knew of the same in Bangalore. Also when asked that the ticket do not menbtion about carrying Birth of Certificate, he answered that the website clearly mentions this. When asked if a person does not how to browse a web since I booked it through a travel agent, a prompt and rude reply came from him saying, "THEN YOU SHOULD NOT BE FLYING". Since I was not carrying either credit card neither the Birth of Certificate, they told me I would be denied borading in the flight if I do not purchase the ticket. He also mentioned that I performed an illegal activity by taking a child without a proper proof. (He compared my child to a missile sayng that both are illegal). However, strangley, when I purchased the ticket for my child, no one asked us to show the proof of identity this time and I was allowed to board the flight. Also, the ticket that I purchased for my child considering him as an infant of Rs. 1, 080 was not refunded. Not to mention, throughout the conversation, Mr. Pratim had his hands inside the pockets which actually was quite bothreosme since we always knew that Customer is the king. I did purchase the ticket at the same price mentioned by them, however I feel the whole incident could have been handled much more nicely since it involved a child (who was sleeping throughout this). This incident gives an impression that all they were trying to do is have a full flight, they do not even bother about Customer Service.

Dear Sir / Madam

I am a registered travel agent with indigo airlines. I had asked the airline for a group quote and they returned a written quotation on my email. The group was agreed upon and i deposited the money towards the booking in ICICI bank account of the airline. However, by the time the group ticket could be issued, the airline executives(Mr Manikandan Nair & Mr Priyadarshan) confirmed that the fare had increased from the quoted price. I had refused to accept it and wanted the airline to return the money deposited to their account. it is since 6th march 2010 that i have been asking for the refund.

First the executives said they are processing the refund amount and will get back to me. After a week of waiting, i requested them to send written communication by email about the refund. But both of them seem to avoiding the calls and showed resistance to send the email. After a lot of calls and verbal conversations, i was able to get a mail from one of the executives stating that they are in the process of checking the refund process and will get back to me in 20 days. This mail was recieved by me on 15th march and i am still awaiting the refund as on date and have not further recieved any communication from the airline.

Please advice me the best way to recover the money locked with the airline.

Regards

This is the my experience i would like you to go thru the mail properly.

Dear Vishal,

Thanks for the reply.
After going thru your statement (Despite of clear FIDS display, you chose to stand in our queue which coincidentally was also for Mumbai departure.)

have 1 thing to ask you , I did not choosed it RATHER your staff ("Miss TANUJA")coz of whom i Lost my flight ASKED ME TO WAIT IN THE QUEUE.

FIDS are displayed for all the airline company at all possible locations making it very crowed look but it does not says other airline passenger shuld not enter that premices.

Its a job of the Human being ("Miss TANUJA") employed & the one who represents the respective company to guide if a passenger is in a wrong Queue. On the contrary your employee misguided us due to lack of her ablity to comminucate us instsntaneously which costed us our Flight.

It WAS NOT OUR CHOICE VISHAL TO WAIT THERE WE WAITED AS YOUR STAFF ASKED US TO.

ALSO (our airport staff also reported the case to GMR officials) it was not your staff it was we ourselfs who approached GMR female who was cooperative to us, which was to be expected by your MANAGER IN CHARGE ("Debpratam").
In fact except for speaking good and fluent english you Manager "Debpratam" has no humanity to come to a newly married couple and help them politely.

Perhaps I understand from there behavour theye were shying away from us as they ( "Debpratam", Madam who gives the bording passes) knew it was their mistake.

Expect you to to re go thru the case i am sure there will be many such examples of their irresponsible behavour which is going to cost your companys rappo in the service industry big time.

Thanks & Regards

C Dikshit

Dear Mr. Dixit,
Thank you for your mail.
With regards to your mail, I have personally investigated the case and established that since you were booked with GoAir, you were required to report at there check in counters. Despite of clear FIDS display, you chose to stand in our queue which coincidentally was also for Mumbai departure. When you reached our counters, our check in supervisor informed you about the error. Even to help you out in every possible manner, our airport staff also reported the case to GMR officials, they were also helpless to do anything.
Sir, IndiGo cannot be held liable for the error at your end.
Thus, while we must respectfully decline your request in this instance.

Dear Authority,

This complaint is with regards to an incident which costed me not only 10,000/rs. Also a loss of prestigeous time n Moment which is once in life time.

I am from mumbai & gor marrid in delhi on 27th Nov 2009, i had a flight on 29th 1.50 pm from GO AIR. from Delhi to Mumbai.

we landed in GO INDIGO bording pass counter n showed the Internet ticket print out to the representative "Miss TANUJA". @ 1.10pm

she asked us to wait ... as we waited for 20 min again when i went to confirm she asked me to go.. to downstairs to GO AIR counter n saild you have come to wrong counter.

By the time i coud reach the flight already took off..

we asked the authority (GO AIR)the extra ticket at 8.pm costed us a diff of 9600/Rs.

we went to complain abt the same to your authority ... the Manager "Debpratam" did not cooperated as he insisted us its our fault, asked us not to waste his nd our time without giving us correct reply.

The person in charge could only explain ang guide us to get fresh ticket.

I am asking you if We were guided wrongly to the Path of INDIGO, instead of GO AIR on first point why did the staff asked us to wait in Queue for 20 min...??

Here in mumbai we landed at night 11.30 @ home in borivali instead of 5 pm. It was the first time my wife came to her in laws place .. there were a set of 50 relatives wating for us but all went in vain due to Negelligence n Lack of Responsibility.

Your managment could have provided a free air ticket to us as it was their mistake to a newly wedded couple; this treatment was very harsh to digest.

If the compensation to same isnt provited to us we will go for a legal help.

Thanks & Regards

I have booked a flight through Makemytrip for Hyderabad to Imphal for today (2 March 2010) but I was refused to board the flight due to my pregnancy. It would be much appreciated if the refunds are credited
into my account at the earliest possible opportunity. The details of my flight (connecting flight) are

Hyderabad to Kolkata
Christina Lianlamching (PNR Number Z2NICD), Khumginsang Hanghal and
Noelle Lalmuanpuii (PNR Number Z2YZLD for both).

Kolkata to Imphal
Christina Lianlamching, Khumginsang Hanghal and Noelle Lalmuanpuii
(PNR Number H2MRAH for all)

With this letter I would like to point out my grievances:

1) I had called the customer care service and had informed the executive that I am a pregnant woman with two children but he has not informed me of any restrictions that Indigo has.
2) I had previously taken Indigo Airlines at the my latest stage of pregnancy for my second child (36 weeks) and I do not know for any reason why I had been refused this time.
3) I would bring to your attention that your ground personnel are such a careless big crew that they have not noticed me at the check in and gave me the boarding pass. Even at the boarding gate my boarding
passes were checked and everything was fine till then but as I was approaching the gate they stopped me. I request you to please keep professionals.

I have gone through the terms and conditions on your website and other related information sources. There is no disclaimer or condition that mentions that I cannot travel due to the lateness of my pregnancy. Other airlines permit travel even upto the 38th week with a medical certificate issued 7 days before the actual day of travel.

The fact that I was allowed to check in, given a boarding pass, and asked to proceed to the aircraft to board and then denied entry has put me and my children under extreme mental and physical stress. I need to be compensated adequately for my missed flight, the fact that I have to cancel all of my appointments, my bookings for hospital stay in Manipur etc at a considerable cost. Additionally, I dont think you can replace my parent's as well as my grandparents mental distress at my being denied the flight. I am ready to cooperate in anyway but I will absolutely not back out on two major things:

1. Full and complete refund of my ticket.
2. Adequate compensation for the mental and physical harassment meted out to me and my children, either financially or otherwise.
3. A formal written apology from Indigo on the mistake you have done to me.

I would appreciate that the appropriate and necessary action are taken
to avoid any more inconvenience.

Me and my 1 year old infant were scheduled to fly on indigo flight 6E-435 from indoor to new delhi departing at 10:05 on sunday 27 April 2014. When i reached the indigo counter for delhi flight the supervisor shifted me to next counter i waited more then 10 minutes for my turn in that cue and when it was my turn the supervisor informed that i was standing in the wrong cue. I was shocked. as it was 9:45 by that time. I said that the other supervisor guided me to this counter and when she was asked about it she straight away refused. Thanks to the passenger standing behind me who supported me and confirmed that the supervisor was lying. But despite of their staff member's mistake they denied boarding. I requested them so much, my daughter was crying a lot i was handling my baggage alone along with my daughter but nobody helped. I even missed my next flight to delhi as no one was there to help or guide me.I am sure that the flight was overbooked or i was not entertained because mine was a discounted flight. Do you think if a passenger is paying less he/she is not that important. Though i suffered a loss of Rs 3530 only i want full refund from the airline and compensation for the loss suffered.

Me and my wife boarded Indigo flight no. 6E 282 from Chennai to New Delhi on 24 Feb, 2010.Our PNR was Y245BG. We were sitting on seat no. 12A and 12B. There was a group of 3 co-passengers sitting on 11A, 11B and 11C. The guy sitting on 11B was continuously gazing shamelessly at my wife. To avoid any embarrassment on board, my wife didn’t report the matter to the cabin crew. But when we landed she refused to go in the bus coach till the Arrival point, since that irritating fellow was also there. We reported the matter to the Ground Force and requested them to drop us to the Arrivals by a private vehicle of airline.
Thereafter in hope of some action, the matter was reported to one of officer Mr.Amil/Mr.Amin (please pardon me for incorrect name spellings; I could not understand that properly; He is a short height guy for added ease in identification). He was informed of the situation by your Ground Force near the aircraft (through walky-talky) and by us too when we reached the Arrival Hall. He assured us that he will take the accused to task. But we were astonished when we saw that passenger moving out of the airport uninterrupted with all the smiles on his face. I fail to understand what stopped your Officer from taking action even after being in full authority and control.
Quite disillusioned by the improper handling of the matter by your Airport Staff, to report the entire matter we called up your Call Centre Number [protected] where executive told us that he could not entertain any complaints on phone. On being informed the gravity of concern, later he connected me to one of his supervisors, to whom the entire series of events was reported over the phone of which she made a note of and assured me that certainly an appropriate action would be taken in this entire episode.
This matter should make you aware of the ground realities of not only what happens within flights but also how your staff handles the matter even after being informed well in time.

Dear sir,
On 18th October, 2010 I was present at Agartala airport to see off my relative who is a passenger of your flight which is boarding for Kolkata bound Delhi. Hearing some noise at your boarding counter I attracted. After peeping I found a couple is reporting that time but the Lady ground staff not accepting them because they are late by fifteen minutes as per schedule time of reporting i.e 0930 Hrs, flight Departure time is around 1010 Hrs. The voice of the lady staff coming out loudly. The male member of the couple requesting the lady with due respect and seeking apology for delay allowing them to board. The lady was so arrogant that she is not hearing the request of passenger and using ugly words. Then the Male passenger requested her to input his actual time of reporting on the PNR copy that he reported before 0945 Hrs. She denied and started souting that "You may coplain, my name is Ms Deempi Sharma, nobody can touch me". That time the male passenger started shivering and his wife saying that he a is acute patient of Booldsugar, who takes Insulin three times per day and suffering from Liver disease, his age is near about 55 years and one Executive of NABARATNA GROUP(ONGC) posted at Kolkata, his name is Mr. R. Bhattacharjee. But Ms Sharma was deaf to the entire request.

Now my question is that is it the way to behave with a guest? Whereas your organization declares that Indigo is the prime organisation in hospitality. My request is please guied your staff members about proper behave

Hi,
i had booked a Bangalore-Jaipur flight (flight no. 6E 152, PNR no O2G5LA). Unfortunately, in Bangalore, airport is 50km away and i missed my scheduled airport bus, and i reached 15 mins before the departure time. i was not allowed to check-in, and was told that "taxes and user development fee" will be refunded, which sounded reasonable. To my dismay, when took a closer look at my ticket, it was mentioned that uder development fee + taxes = Rs. 481!!! I am absolutely sure that when i booked my ticket, the ticket cost was Rs. 999, and rest of it was taxes (i paid total Rs 4080), but on the ticket printout, it was mentioned that tax amount is zero!!!!

So, indigo refunded my only Rs. 481. The tax that they collected is in their pocket, and they will not refund it. this is cheating!!

unfortunatly with traffic jam I came 5 mins late to airport on 30/04/2104 at Indigo counter they didnt allowed me to enter into flight my flight ticket is Hyderabad to New Delhi they said only airport charges will be deducted and balance amount should be collect from MAKE MY TRIP.COM so I said ok than after 10 days I went MAKE MY TRIP.COM to collect money they said if your ticket will be NO SHOW no charges will be refunded and they said anything quirresgo and ask at indigo counter this is cheating my ticket PNR no y6375 dt 30/04/2014 hyd to delhi
Same incident happened with me too. I reached 35 mins before departure time at indigo counter . They didnt allow me to board my flight from hyd to delhi, inspite they wasted 15 mins in arguing. Afterwards they said i could take the next flight by paying 2400 rs but at the counter i was asked 9000 rs . The indigo people were not at all helpful they make fool of people and earn money. They said they cant refund the amount even. There were many other people with same case and they treated everyone same. Worst experience with INDIGO. No help from there side. I would not recommend people to take this airline. Instead people travelling with other airlines were allowed to board.
DEAR FRIEND SORRY TO HEAR DAT FRM U . ANY WAY AM ALSO THE VICTIM OF INDIGO . SAME AS U . MAY I KNOW THE PROCEDURE ATLEAST TO GET THE TAXES PLEASE.

I booked a ticket from hyd to bangalore today for my daughter. I had put her name etc etc but since the old data was stored on my website the ticket came on my name instead of hersas it asked whther to retain the old data. I called the indigo when i saw the ticket and requested to them .they said no name change the ticket has to be cancelled and i will loose 2250 Rs. It was an accidental error, brought to their notice within few hours . what was the neccesity to confuse the passengers asking irrelevant questions when the entry has been made. in the name of easing the customers it is a customer loot.. even railways have a facility to change name to blood relations. the the airline shows profit by looting the people by way of cancellation charges etc. as per rule the taxes and udf has to be refunded but they pocket it and they know we dont have the time to go to court. the tax cannot be collected if not travelled and has to be refunded. they call low cost but no 1 cheats.

I missed my flight 'Indigo' (domestic) from Pune to Delhi. I reported late at the Indigo counter so I was not allowed to check in. I have requested for the tax refund at the indigo site and it showed me the message that i will get it within 7 working days.

Dear Manager,

I am so disappointed using Indigo Airlines pathetic services. I tried booking a new ticket using the credit given by them against cancellation of a ticket but was not able to do so (there is no option in online booking to use the credit given by them) i called their customer care. Talked to them for half an hour. then they disconnected my phone twice. I am not able to use my own money (indigo credit). this is shameful. Also, refused to file my complaint.

Their representatives say i need to wait for their call. i need to book my ticket now. Who will take care of the price increase in the mean time. Please do he needful and ask them not to pester their customers like that.

Regards

I have a 19 year old daughter who is a student and her adhar card as well as voter card are yet to come.Since she had to produce a photo identity proof so she called up my city airport (kolkata) and they gave her a indigo helpline no to speak regarding it. When she called up the no [protected] and started telling her problem they replied her "madam this is the indigo dispatch number" and when she said in reply that fine can you give me a helpline number regarding my photo identity problem that man rudely kept on saying the same lines and kept her phone. As a consumer I feel I have full right to be entitled to every information I require and it was the airport authority who gave her this number so even if she had dialled a wrong number then being part of the same company they could have easily given her the correct one instead of misbehaving. The staff of indigo must know how to behave with their consumers or customers especially with a girl of my daughter`s age who never had any flight travel experience before so called up to enquire about it or any other women in my daughter`s place. I am so disappointed that I am expressing my complaint in this letter. I REQUEST YOU PLEASE IF NEXT TIME ANYONE MISTAKENLY DIALLS A WRONG NUMBER OF THIS COMPANY THEN CORRECT HIM OR HER INSTEAD OF BEHAVING OFFENSELY.

Hi,

I booked ticket from indigo for 23rd Jan 2010 ( PNR- L1N4EB)

However, due to an emergency we could not fly on agreed date.

I spoke to customer care and I was told that 750/- per passenger charges are applicable in order to cancel it which is very unfair. I am frequent flyer of Indigo and should take my case in to consideration and do not deduct the cancellation / Change the destination fee for all passengers.

I asked an agent who was available over to the phone to deduct one passenger cancellation fee i.e. 750/- but he was not agreed.

I would appreciate if you can look in to this case. i sent them an email but response was not okay.

I had booked a flight from Lucknow to Ahmedabad by Indigo Airways for 15.1.2010 for my wife Shashi Singh. On 14.1.2010 I was informed by representative of Indigo Airlines that the flight between Lucknow and Ahmedabad will depart late. Hence I could understand immediately that my wife will miss the Mumbai - Ahmedabad sector Indigo flight. I talked to representatives of Indigo maily with Madam Subhshree Shalini & floor representative Mr. Ajay kumar and they apprised me that my wife has no other alternative except to cancel the Mumbai - Ahmedabad Sector ticket and will be charged Rs 750 for cancellation, i.e. Pont No. 1. Secondly i will not be provided with any refund except a credit not valid for one year for the balance amount.
This tantamount to me buying a new ticket for my wife and getting no refund for earlier ticket though the flight was with the same airline and cancellation is also due to the problem at Airlines end and not the customer end.
I want to bring to the notice of all the people to take care of this in future as Airlines will not handle any complaint it is just like a train ticket and nothing else. All their advertisement for customer service is false and vague.

I had purchased indigo airline ticket from delhi to nagpur on flight 6E135. My date of journey was on15 may 2009.My PNR no is X1QUCM. due to some problems i had to come early from delhi to nagpur. When i had inquired on 7th may 2009 regarding cancellation of ticket i was informed that i can cancel the ticket and rs750per person would be deducted and rest of money would be with airlines which i can avail within one year. Hi,

I was supposed to travel on a Mumbai jaipur flight tomorrow morning at 6 AM. At about 6 PM today evening, Indigo called me and told that the flight has been cancelled and they have shifted me to a 9:25 AM flight tomorrow morning.

They did this without even asking me. I have a 9:00 AM meeting tomorrow morning which I will have to miss now.

They offered a refund of the ticket price which is not good enough because if I book a flight now on any other airline it will cost me almost double of what I had booked the flight on Indigo for.

I had to request my client in jaipur to reschedule the meeting at this last moment making me and my business look bad.

This is the most pathetic and irresponsible airline. I will probably never travel by Indigo again.

I took an Indigo airlines flight from Mumbai to Lucknow on January 3, 2010 via flight no. 342 which departed from Mumbai at 1:45 PM. I checked in my bag at the baggage counter and proceeded to take the flight. When I landed in Lucknow, I found my bag handle was broken and the bag was torn. I brought this to the notice of the Indigo Airlines baggage personnel. I was made to wait for an hour and then was directed to their supervisor who told me that they would repair my bag if I left it with them. I refused to leave my baggage with all my belongings in it with them and they rudely told me that they wouldn't do anything. On asking for a fair compensation, I was told that the damage was worth Rs. 50 when it was much more than that. I asked the supervisor to tell me the person concerned whom I could talk to regarding this. The supervisor was rude and shouted on me that I was making it all up. I was accused of fabricating a story and no compensation given. They refused to apologize for their mistake and shouted on me.

This speaks about the kind of customer treatment that passengers receive from Indigo Airlines. The airlines should take action against the erring personnel and compensate me adequately for my loss.

Recently I faced the same problem at Nagpur Airport while traveling from Kolkata by flight 6E404 (on 7th June2010). I have been carrying some fragile items in the bag and duly put a fragile sticker at the check-in counter. However, I was shocked to discover my bag in a disheveled state, with the trolley wheels broken at Nagpur Airport. I found a few bottled items broken inside, soiling all my clothes. I lodged a complaint with your staff at the airport. They collected the bag after 2 days and got the trolley repaired after 2 more days. However, I was advised to put a complaint on this site to claim for the damage of articles inside my bag, which I did, but the complaint bounced back every time, without any satisfactory reply or action from you. What is this? Is this mail id is a sham?

Thanking you,

Yours faithfully,

I also have an unfortunate experience with Indigo flight HYD-NDLS taking off with the airplane in an unfit condition at 6 am and having to make an emergency landing at Nagpur within 15 minutes of flight. The experience post that was harrowing - Lies and delays is all that the passengers got. Finally I walked out of the airport in disgust at 2 pm and took a train back, an Indigo kept promising an alternate flight and then disappearing. Some passengers waited till 3 pm to travel onwards, others simply bought tickets and returned.

I think Indigo is a good airline for able-bodied without luggage commuters, not for the young/infirm or those with baggage, and certainly not for those with faint hearts - when things are going well, it is fine. When they aren't, pray to god, because Indigo has no backup systems in place.

With the demise of the full-service airlines like Kingfisher, India is lacking options for travel, and customers are at the mercy of these cheap carriers.

Indigo Airlines — no refunds on no show

yesterday i missed my flight delhi-mumbai at 14:55 my booking id was - J8ILQJ there is refunds for no show..but when i canncelled my ticket i did not get any refund from it.
i took Indigo flight from Patna to Bangalore on dated 15/12/2020 . i found my Aristo trolley broken. it was new only, i was travelling with dat for the very first time and because of careless handling of luggage by Indigo, it get broken.

compensate my loss as soon as possible.
i am a frequent customer of Indigo and never expected such bad experience from Indigo.

Regards-

I am feeling completely helpless and dont know what to do so that I am able to save my financial loss

I travelled by this Airline along with my spouse & infant. At the time of booking I was told that I would be provided with a seat far away from the wings, since I was concerned about the noise level for my infant. To my surprise I was given the seat (no 17)exactly above the wings and a request for change was turned down.
I request the airline authorities to allocate seats far away from wings for people travelling with infants.

A ticket of Indigo airlines was purchased by me using my own Debit Card. The ticket was for my wife and my child, who is an infant, for travel from Ahmedabad to Kolkata. The date of travel in flight 6E-410 was 14th November, 2009, under the booking reference of A5LNLS.

Prior to booking of the ticket, a perusal of the terms and conditions as available on Indigo airline's website, revealed that a traveler was allowed upto 20 Kgs. of check-in luggage without any additional costs with respect to the particular type of booking which I was about to make.

However, every extra kilo over and above this free allowance, would entail a charge of Rs. 100.00 per kilo. Details available on the said airline's website also offered that should a traveler wish to book in advance such extra kilograms for luggage, the same could be had at a 20% discount through online payments at the time of making the booking.

This arrangement appeared reasonable and cost-effective, keeping in mind that many o[censored]s often have to cram their luggage at the last minute.

My wife and our daughter, duly checked in well in time at the Indigo counter at Ahmedabad airport on the scheduled date of departure of their flight 6E-410. Their luggage was weighed and was found to be 35 Kgs. in weight. It was at this point of time that confusion and our troubles began.

Indigo Airlines staff manning the check-in counter failed to notice that aside from the free 20 kilos of luggage, we had already paid Rs. 800.00 for another 10 kilos. Hence, it was only natural that a further charge for 5 kilos should have been levied at a rate of Rs. 100.00 per kilo.

Instead, they charged for the entire 15 kilos which formed the luggage weight over and above the free limit o[censored]pto 20 kilos.

My wife informed me of this over telephone straight from the airport as we had anticipated that there could be extra baggage charges involved, as without the benefit of a weighing scale at home, there was no way we could accurately determine the weight of our packed luggage.

Immediately, I asked her to rush to the airline's check-in counter and inform them of the mistake. This she did, and also put me on the phone with your authorized personnel manning the counter. Regrettably, by the time she had placed the call to me, she had already paid for the excess baggage using her Debit card.

After carefully going through the bookings and the details of payment made, online, towards extra baggage, Indigo's check-in staff admitted that a mistake indeed had been made. They promised that while charges for 5 kilos of excess baggage shall still apply, the charges levied for the extra 10 kilos will be reversed and that my card, which was used to make the online booking, shall reflect the credit within 3 working days.

Later on, I called up Indigo's customer care help desk to explain the entire sequence of events and seek reassurances that the amount which had been mistakenly billed and collected by your counter staff, shall be refunded. The customer care help desk, while confirming that the refund as promised by the Ahmedabad airport check-in counter shall be reversed, stated that the amount should reflect in my credit card account within the next 48 hours of the call.

Ever since then, I have called Indigo's customer care help desk at an interval of 5 days; every time to have the airline promise me that the amount shall be credited within the next 48 hours.
It is now over a fortnight since I had first taken up this issue with this airline. To my utter astonishment, even to this day no one from this airline has thought of communicating with me on this matter. Nor has the amount, as promised by Indigo, been refunded.

At this point of time, I feel that the airline has adopted a policy of not correcting its own mistakes even if that puts an emotional and mental strain on its patrons. What is more confounding is the fact that for a measly sum of a thousand Rupees, Indigo is willing to put its goodwill and reputation on the line.

Time, most will agree, is very precious for all concerned. This makes it all the more distressing for me to use up this resource in order to bare the circumstances of the case before all and sundry with the intention of seeking a swift and expeditious settlement of the matter.

I trust that Indigo Airlines shall not delay the matter any longer and immediately refund the amount with all speed.

We were travelling from Patna to Kolkata in an Indigo flight on 30th Oct,2009(6 E-342) and our seat nos. were 28A & 28B. We had our infant son with us who was carrying a small tennis ball with him. The security for handbaggage did not allow it. I asked them to scan it separately in case of any doubt. But they refused it stating it to be a prohibited item in handbaggage. When I asked them to put it in the baggage, they refused to either give me some time to put it in the baggage or to even put it themselves in the baggage. I was left with only two options- either leave the kid's ball for their personal use or miss the flight. I left the ball though my son was playing with it and there was no question of any doubt regarding it turning to be any kind of threat to security.None of the crew of the concerned flight proved of any help either.
I would like to request you to stop undue harrassment of passengers in name
of security. If the goods are not in the prohibited list, there is no point to force the passengers to leave the goods for the personal use of airport staff. In my case there was no confusion regarding any security threat and it was just due to malafied intentions. If public cooperates for security check, airport staff should be equally responsible.
I would like to ask two simple questions to the airport authority and the Indigo crew :

1. Did the security staff send my kid's ball to the bomb detection squad or just kept it for the personal use?

2.Why couldn't they load it as a separate baggage in the flight if they could not give me enough time to put it in my loaded baggage if they did not have any malafied intention? I may have had a chance of collecting it at the Kolkata airport.
It is not a question of the price of the tennis ball but the question arises of the mental agony suffered by us and especially my child.Kindly punish people who are using security check to fill their own pocket and prevent such future untoward incident. Kindly also inform me of the action taken against this complain and measures taken to compensate me for the uninvited mental stress..

IndiGo Flight — Regarding Money Refund due to Flight Cancellation

I had booked a ticket from Bangalore to Nagpur(via Pune) on 17th Oct.. But because of some technical problems in the plane ,the flight was cancelled at Pune where we were offered the money to be refunded. But for the time being we were asked to go by any means and they told us that we will refund your money shortly. I have sent them several mails . They once replied that they will send the cheque very soon. But after that there is no response from them.
