[Resolved] Make My Trip — Non refund of booking charges and non presentment of receipts | |||
Hi, I booked a holiday package with makemytrip.com worth INR 1,44,000 on 23 March 2013. An initial booking amount of INR 20000 was made online and rest of the payment was to be made in 2 installments before the trip. The date of trip was May 26, 2013. However due to some mis-happening in my family, I required to cancel the trip. I called my booking operator but my call wasn't received neither anyone from the company called back (even after the date of second installment was passed and the payment wasn't made from my side). Finally, i wrote an email (on May 13, 2013) to makemytrip asking them to withhold the booking amount (INR 20000) with them but postpone the trip. After 2 days, i received a call from my booking operator (Poonam Sharma) and as expected, she was rude and harsh in her tone informing that all bookings have been reconfirmed and i will need to pay the cancellation charges (as per company policy) which appx would amount to 70% of my package cost. I questioned them for not getting back to me (while they were supposed to) when the date of second installment was passed to which she remained numb. Anyways, she held up the phone saying she will get back with the cancellation charges soon. In the meantime, I checked the hotel and airline websites to check what amount is deducted when a cancellation is made. Surprisingly, the hotels which were booked in this package didn't charged a single rupee when and if cancelled 1 day prior to check in. The airline ticket too was refundable post deduction of some charges which any how can not amount to 20000. After a day, i received email from makemytrip saying the booking amount of INR 20000 has been forfeited as cancellation charges.I replied asking to provide a detailed cost break up with receipts and bills to ensure the payment which they have made amounts to 20000. However, they refused to provide a cost break up instead claimed that the cancellation amount is more than 20000 BUT their claim is without any documentary proof. I am asking for refund of my booking amount post deduction of charges, as applicable but not getting a satisfactory response in this regard from MakeMyTrip. Request you to help. MakeMyTrip — Non refund of
I have tried to book my train reservation from New Delhi to Goa from May 5th to May 11th on the makemytrip through internet. When I was completed with the process, the message flashed on the screen that the reservation had failed due to technical snag at their end. When I checked my account a sum of Rs 11838 was already deducted from my account.I called up their helpline, for which I was informed that my funds would be returned within two business day and I was suggested to try again. As reservation was available, I did the mistake of reserving the tickets but then again it failed and another amount of RS 11838 deducted from my account.
I am worried about the refund of the money and at the same time my travel plans stands shattered as all reservations in most of the trains stand closed. I have sent emails at their service address but for the last three days there isn't any response.
this is bad service and i have also experienced similar stiff

I took a trip to Mount Abu-Udaipur in Sep 2010 through makemytrip.com. They had promised me 3 star hotels but on reaching there, we found that the hotels were not 3 star. Then we got those reservations cancelled and got our own hotels. I have asked maketrip to reimburse me for the payments that I made to those hotels. But inspite of several reminders, they have not refunded any money to me.39%

MakeMyTrip — Refund of hotel charges
We booked holiday plan through Makemytrip. We had to short close our tour to Ooty as Makemytrip booked Hotel in Coonnoor instead of Ooty and that too hotel was not good.Makemytrip is suppose to pay refund of one day hotel charges.
