[Resolved]  Reader's Digest — Renewal of Suscription + 3 gifts

Dear Sir,

I have applied for renewal of my subscription through the offer made by Reader's Digest in december, 2008, Through their offer at 42% discount by paying Rs.379/- only (THE CHEQUE WAS DRAWN FROM MY SON'S ACCOUNT -PRADEEP KUMAR JAIN).I have twice called at their office on 5th of this month (Feb, 2009)at NOIDA, they promised to reply within 72 hours but it is almost 14 days passed and since than i have received no reply at all. This is the example of their poor service. Is paying in advance results like this?.

I also have received two post cards saying that there are 3 free gifts waiting for me, and I cannot find anywhere on their web site that directs you to the gifts and how to claim them. Just another come on as far as I'm concerned.

Your "3 free gifts" is a scam and I will contact the BBB because there is no other recourse. Readers Digest sends this junk to my mother and she believes it will be a gift for her and asks me to email you. She has never been given a gift and this time I can't even reach anything but this comment column. Readers Digest used to be a respected magazine but it appears you have turned into a second rate rag that resorts to scams. Why?
Just received my card for this & checked it out online & got this information.Was very surprised.Have always had good mail service with magazine.
I do not have a recollection of receight of the three free gifts.

I would also like to know the outcome of the 3 free gifts problem.
3 free gifts this is my third try. can't understand why they can get away with, if your hurting business tell your subscribers and forget it I'll accept.
I tried to send for the free gifts for a friend who subscribed but doesn't have a computer, only to find more than eight pages of complaints at the unavailability of said gifts. What a disgraceful way to do business!
What in hell is this a joke? I don't find it humorous. Do not not publish my adress in comments.

I too, find just complaints on this web site of wwwreadersdigest.com, and nothing about any gifts of any kind. also you have sent me the magazine at times, and I havent even renewed my subscription...also the billing invoices...Tighten your boot straqps and get things right..it is ruining your business..!!!
Received 'Select Editions' book I did not want .. Later a bill dated Nov 10, 2009. I had sent a notice cancelling any books sent to me.. Please help tp resolve issue. Do not want book Cliff Boche

I renewed subscription several months ago. I received a card saying 3 Free Gifts are waiting for you!
I went to www.readersdigest.com/3free as I was told on the card. I was told there was no such
website. Several days ago I received the same card and I ended up on this website for complaints.
What is going on?
I have received two notices to renew my subscription . I renewed my subscription September 25, 2009 with check #574. It was for ten dollars, which is what the renewal called for with getting a free subscription to someone as a gift. If it was paid at that time, I was also supposed to receive a bonus gift subscription for someone. After the first notice after the first renewal notification I sent your office a copy to the renewal with your notice and copy of the check. This has also happened to my wife for several years when she had a subscription. Why do we keep getting numerous notices? Don't anyone there check on the renewals? If we keep getting harrassed with notices after paying, and paying before they are due, we will finally cancel our subscription. We enjoy your magazine, but your subscription office or employees are not very efficient.

I hope I will not get another notice until my subscription is up. Thank you.

Why is my confirmation code out of date? Don't you keep the site updated? Just another scam by readers digest i guess...
