I am sorry to point out that a company like Reader's Digest is involved in cheating people through this type of lottery. If they want to promote their publication they may go through so many other methods. why this dirty game of cheating.
er R K Chhabra
Reader digest is cheating everyone with the prize letters.
Anyone replying to the prize mails will have to buy books which are useless. The prize letters will have one line mentioned in somewhere in the pile of pages received. Once you reply to any of the letters you will get a gift of some useless object and a book. You will continue to receive these kind of gifts for many months and there will be follow up letter which says you have to pay the due amount. The money will gradually raise and they will respond with harsh followup letters if you don't pay the amount. In the end you will end up paying a huge sum of money over months and you will know that you will never get the lakhs or cars

Never fall for readers digest and I suggest you go for better magazines with good standards.
In my experience Reader digest follows a third rate business tactics which is not even followed by telemarketers.
yes i agree
I have also feel cheated.I got the above expereance.

By far you have been the most true to your word who've dealt with my problem. I received the two copies of April and June issue yesterday by courier. And I have also received August and September issue.

          Dear Rdcare,

I today received the May and June 2010 issues of the Readers Digest. I had earlier complained to you about non receipt of the above issues.
I am satisfied with the email reply received from rdcare and my special thanks for the letter addressed to the postal authorities complaining about the non delivery of some of the issues of RD.
I am very happy that rdcare takes prompt steps to redress subscriber grievances and in my case also it has happened.
Now I have reversed my old decision not to renew my RD subscription. I will continue to subscribe to Readers Digest.

          Very truely yours

Readers Digest Sweepstakes draw for the year 2010 held on 22nd Jan, 2011. The organising commitee is not disclosing the names of the winners & manupulating the results to their benefit. Even invited participants are not shared with their status not with the winner list. A clear case of draw result manipulation.

I had received a VPP through Speedpost from Readers Digest. As i was expecting another parcel from Speedpost I paid upfront and collected the parcel. This happened to be a Parcel from Readers Digest with out and prior requests from them. I had to pay 472 Rupees for an unwanted packet from Readers Digest. Is it possible to get my money back by sending them back the packet?

                    Thanks

This refers to the complete breach of the faith of the blameless customer. I further swiftly asked them to deliver the articles at an early date without undue and excessive delay. Their approach towards providing the genuine services to the customers is absolutely dis satisfactory. They should show loyalty to the customer. At a time when the world is seeing M.K.Gandhi is an inspirational leader, these people seems to have completely ignored what he said about a CUSTOMER. It is good for them to recollect the definition of customer given by him.

                            Dear Sir,

To book the monthly delivery of Reder's Digest I tried to pay the Annual cost to Readers's Didest the Licencee of the Magazine publisher, the Living Media Inc,Actually I tried three times to pay Rs 449/ on 17.11.2010 and once on 21.11.2010 but I did not get the response that payment has been done so finally I ordered on 21.11.2010 to Reader's Digest to deliver the Reader's Digest by V.P.P and some surprise Gifts were also offered,But today while I was checking my unbilled transaction of my Credit Card I saw that thrice Rs 449/ on 17.11.2010 and once Rs 449/ has been shown to be debited , But the Merchant M/S Living media, Noida has not yet claimed the amount.
My request to cancell my order of 4 times by credit card and if finally Rs 449/ debited 4 times be refunded to me . And accept my V.P.P order as valid. Narendra Kumar,A/101.prashray Aptt, Bailey Road, Patna-800014,Mob;[protected]

In order to book 1 year subscription of Reader's Digest, I tried to pay through my credit card on 17.11.2010 but since the transaction did not confirmed that it has accepted my debit. So I again triad to pay Rs 449/ on 21.11.2010, This day also no acceptance was indicated to me. I request you to kindly treat 4 debits from my credit card as cancelled and request to send the book with whatever surprise Gifts by VPP. Reader's Digest Complaints - Duplication

                                    Duplication-

                                    Sir,
i am a member of reader's digest since a year and i renewed my subscription in june this year as my subscription was going to come to an end in july. i posted my mail and a cheque of Rs. 449 to the rquired address.

I didn't recieve any copy in July and August. So, after checking my account(bank-through which i sent the cheque)) I realised that no money was taken out till september.
I thought that may be i didn't send the right cheque, i ordered for a new subsription online.

I got my next copy in October( new subscription) and everything was okay when today i was handed two copies.
I rechecked the names and subscription number and realised that the other copy was of the old subsciption which i renewed in JUNE . the money has now been deducted from my bank account also.

So, now I want to merge both the orders together and get Rs.449 back as soon as possible.

Please email me as to what I should do with the same books and request you to take suitable measures quickly.

I want to hear from you as soon as possible.

You this is a scam! Don't you understand what they are trying to do? Why one would give so much money and gifts only for a years subscription of a magazine? Just forget about it and move on! Don't send any money or don't renew subscription for this readers digest. Better save that 400-500 rupees per year!

                                        For the due of :
