Reader's Digest — 3 free gifts direct mail offer

My current RD subscription # isRDA[protected]/9, good until Aug 11, 2010. I received a direct mail cardtoday saying "3 FREE GIFTS are waiting for you! Claim them today at www.readersdigest.com/3free. Went to the website, no offer. Called customer care. Got no help because they said they are "only customer care for subscriptions" and did not have access to the computer offer. I did find numerous complaints from other subscribers. What's the story on this offer?

I thought with Readers Digest reputation that they would be above false claims for bogus gifts. I can't find anything either that lists the gifts for me or anyone else. What is the scam here and why are you resorting to these tactics Readers Digest. I just lost a lot of respect for you and your magazine has always been a big favorite of mine. It is the only magazine I can read cover to cover and enjoy. I hope to hear some redeeming answer for this.
I must agree with the text above---I, too am VERY disappointed in Reader's Digest!! Afterall, where are these 3 free gifts that I was promised? Huh? Just tell me and I won't gripe anymore, okay?
This come-on by Reader's Digest is just another way the magazine has to get more subscriptions and keep those it already has. Every complaint listed has happened to me, especially sending books I did not order. At least they did take back a book I returned and took away the charge. This magazine is full of deceptive practices.
I received a notice about free gifts last year. I went to the site the card told me to and I could not find anything about free gifts. I received a card yesterday and went to the site, could not find out anything about the free gifts. I think that this is a scam and Readers Digest should make good on this claim of three free gifts.
Where is the 3 free gift?
It appears this offer is a scam to get interest in Readers Digest. I can find no access to the 3 free gifts.
3 free gifts are waiting for you, what a ripoff i have a subscription already false advertisement enjoy the reading and information so what is the deal
SHAME ON RD. IF YOU SEND OUT CARDS SAYING YOUR GOING TO DO SOMETHING THEN, WELL YOU SHOULD DO IT. WHAT'S WITH THE HOX. THIS IS NOT ANY WAY TO RUN A BUSINESS, ESPECIALLY ON THE ELDERY. SHAME ON YOU!!!
I hate the feeling I've just been made a sucker! I now
regret having used Readers/ Digest as an easy
Christmas gift solution for overseas friends. Never
again! One is only as good as one's reputation.
I just went to the site and found only advertisements topurchase more from readers digest - there are no links for 3 free gifts. they should be made to produce the 3 free gifts. I am turning this over to the Attorney Generals Office in my state as a scam to get more from indivuals.
I just might have to cancel my subscription. The card says 3 free gifts are waiting for you. Where's the gifts? What are the gifts? How am I supposed to redeem them? Sounds like the BBB needs to hear about this.
OK, NOW THAT YOU HAVE ALL THESE COMPLAINTS (COMENTS) WHAT ARE YOU DOING ABOUT THEM?????
I, TOO. AM TIRED OF CHASING DOWN THIS WE-SITE FOR 3 FREE GIFTS, AND FINDING NOTHING!!! WHAT GIVES???? I HAVE BETTER THINGS TO DO WITH MY TIME THAN TO BLOW IT AWAY LIKE THIS.
I too received a card for 3 free gifts and I am never going to renew my subscription to Readers Digest.
Recently signed up for a school promotion for RD. Received Feb & March issues today. Can't log on to receive 3 free gifts. Will not renew my subscription.

3 FREE GIFT READERS DIGEST RIPOFF — SEE ABOVE

TO ANSWER THE QUESTIONS "WHY IS THERE NO WAY TO COLLECT OUR THREE FREE GIFTS FROM READERS DIGEST" ???? BECAUSE "FOOLS" LIKE US LOG ONTO THE REQUESTED WEB SITE AND GUESS WHAT IS THERE? ALL KINDS OF PAID ADVERTISEMENTS FOR US TO CLICK ON AND ORDER JUNK!!
Why does the prestigious Readers Digest send card promising 3 free gifts waiting for their subscriber as Special subscriber gift rewards and asking them to claim those 3 gifts. I have had the same experience. Cannot log on to claim 3 free gifts. Is Readers Digest not aware of such thing. I promise not to renew my subscription ever again. SHAME ON YOU Readers Digest.
