[Resolved]  Samsung Galaxy Note Gt - N7000 — Heating and cannot turn ON

Address:Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala

TO WHOM EVER IT MAY CONCERN.

I brought the phone (Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000) on 15th May 2012. Within a week, there was a update from samsung Kies. After the update the phone started heating up even when its not in use. It made the flip cover rubber coat to melt and also couple of times I noticed the phone is turned off while charging. Yesterday morning (05/06/2012) I found the phone is turned OFF while it was kept in charging at night. I tried to turn ON the phone which did not respond. Today (06/06/2012) I gave to the service center (Mastro Fone, Trivandrum), they noticed the phone is still heating up even when it is turned OFF. And they confirmed there was a PBA (Board) which is bad and that need to be replaced. They said they cannot replace the Board and I had to go to Smart electronics, SreeKanteswaram. "Mastro Fone" advised not to keep the battery inside the phone (in Phone which cannot turn ON). "Smart Electronics" opened the phone and confirmed the board is heating up and the board need a replacement. The replacement need a week time.

All the excitement I had using Galaxy Note is gone now, by the way the phone reacted within a month from purchase. I did'nt wait to buy Galaxy S3 because I thought the Galaxy Note is one the good phone from samsung and it had what i expected.

I'm not able to tell my friends that the phone broke. Because I was telling them all good about the phone in past days. It is making me to think that I made a wrong decision.

The phone was brought well within 30 days. I feel Samsung to replace the Phone. Service center says that they can only replace to board not the phone. I should'nt be waiting till a week to get the phone repaired.

People who want to know about this problem contact me on the number below.

I happy that the Samsung responded today (7th June 2012).

But they cannot replace the phone rather they can only replace the board. Also told that they can see towards getting the repair done soon as possible.

I'm confused now as the Samsung person mentioned that doing an update through the Kies or Phone Software Update option may get Malware which might cause damage. I dont know how Samsung could allow such malwares inside their network and that could cause a serious Hardware Issue. He advised get software updates by going to the Samsung service center.

But while in conversation the call disconnected. And I was not able to reach him back.

I'm totally lost confidence now with Samsung. I'm looking now to get the money back and get a new phone from somewhere else.

I had this Major issue with the phone in 20 days from purchase. I should get a new phone or my Money back.
