[Resolved]  Tata Sky — Channels Scrambled

Hello All,

I have got Tatasky as a compliment when I bought a Samsung LCD 32". The Tatasky was installed and was working fine for last 1 and half year. Offlate the first 15 channels are Scrambled hence I logged a complaint with Tatasky who called promptly after the SLA Time.

I was asked if I was at home and we have to perform troubleshooting steps, I was on the way to go for shopping I returned back home to perform troubleshooting hoping to resolve the issue.

The lady I spoke was not competant and was seeking assistance from the fellow collegue very often (thats not the major concern).

I was asked to do a master reset which I did and after doing that the Signal Strenght was 60% and Signal Quality was about 80% (a bit less than that) and the channels were still scrambled. I was told that an engineer will be sent to the site to check and fix the issue but I had to pay Rs 350 for the visit which is totally not acceptable. I was also told that the subscription charges I pay every month is only towards the chanels I view and not for service.

My point is that I should get the quality service for what I pay for and if I am not getting it Tatasky should ensure that I get the best value for money. This is happening for couple of months I am not getting quality service for the money I pay over and above that I have been asked to pay Rs 350 to get the issue fixed which is something that I want you to look into and help.

There have been new transponders added to Tata Sky as a result the recent trend to meet public demand at large Tata Sky have been adding channels. There have been 7 channels off lately that have been added so in case there are new channels they may be on test mode. It is always helpful in case of technical troubleshooting and assistance to be performed when present at home so that customer care can do their best in helping you out in solving the issue. The best in case of a hardware problem that can be solved on a call may be limited due to constraints of not determining the exact cause of the problem so the best they could help out was by enabling a master reset. Since that did not resolve the issue there was a need for technician visit for which there is a charge not only by Tata Sky or DTH but in the entire Industry of Dish satellities where a tech visit is required. If the issue was resolved on call there would not be any charge and hence catering to customer service but the aftersale service to is maintained by looking into queries and greviances of customers.
It appears you seem to have a genuine problem. First. make sure that the problem is not with your TV. There could be a problem with your TV as a result of which this is happening. One your are fully satisfied that the issue is not with the TV, contact Tata Sky CS again and schedule an engineer visit. You will have to be but it is better to have it looked by a professional. You must have spent on the LCD TV and Tata Sky DTH and hence it is imperative that you get professional help. God forbid! If an ametuer botches something up. Unfortunately, you will have to shell out the amount for the visit. This is not limited to Tata Sky alone but is an industry wide norm for all DTH providers. But I am sure that once you follow the two steps, your issues will be resolved.
