TATASKY has been ripping off subscribers of their money .Fifteen days ago I received a call from TATAsky representative about renewing a AMC contract which we have not done for last 3 yrs as it was not told before the TATA sky representative informed us if we dont renew the AMC we have to pay Rs 350 for all engineer visit, when we refuse to acknowledge the renewal , problems started with our set top box, and ultimately it konked off ,and when we calle dtheir call centre we been ask to pay rs.350 for engineer visit.We are unhappy with TATAsky services which have gone bad to worse now.Please let us know the future course of action .

I agree with above set of box issue.
I had same type of issue.
I called to customer care to verify the details on Tata sky packages.
I have taken the connection immediatly in the first call itself.
After one week its been delivered to wrong address that to seal open.
Customer care is pressurising to accept the package.They are not even taking responsibulity of open package delivery. Along with this Customer care suggested for feature issues just pay Rs 350/-

    Hi,
    I got the New Tata Sky Installed at my home on 15 the Oct 2009 for Rs 5999/- by using the Credit Card for payment.As i knew that by making a Rs 5999/- using Credit Card the first month subscription was free.

    Problem :
    1>The Installation Engineer didn't give us the any Recharge Coupen .
    2>After Installation every day i use to get the SMS asking me to recharge my account.
    3>On 18-Oct-2009 i received a SMS that my account has been recharged by Rs 1000/-.I have no information who had recharged that as myself or none of my family member had done that.
    4>On 19-Oct-09 the Tata sky started displaying that "You are not authorized" and was not able to view TataSky for 30 hrs.
    5>On 19-Oct-09 i talked toTataSky Customer Care asking why i am not able to view TataSky at least for the month with paying any amount and who had recharged my account.Tata Sky representative:Ravinder
    6>On 21-Oct-09 i came to know that my account is showing Rs -100 which means that Extra wire had been used while installation that is why they i need to pay Rs 100/- but at the time of installation no one not even Engineer told me that extra charges will be required to pay for wire.

    My problem is that "One month subscription will be FREE, If the payment is made by using Credit Cards"
    but still i a have asked to pay or recharge my account and wasn't able to view the TataSky and now they are asking me to pay for the wire.I am having pain using TataSky even before a week is over.

    Please help me and try to resolve my problem so that i can use TataSky at least for a month.

    Hi Mr.Mahendra,
    Good step there taken to avail one month free subscription. The installation engineer though its his duty must have forgotten to provide you with recharge coupon. There must have been discrepancy in the account number that you have been using, this information should have been immediately reported to the authority. You need to crosscheck with your account no. to see if it is mistaken. If there is a account query that could be the problem you are imposed with unsound charges as you did not avail facility of any of the cost imposed. The cost of wire too might be on the same basis. There may be secondary possible problems that needs to be informed get in contact with customer care and provide technician visit details they should be able to pull up your account information.

      THIS RELATES TO A PROBLEM WITH TATA SKY WHICH IS NOT WORKING FROM LAST MORE THAN ONE MONTH. THEY MAKE ME RECHARGE IT AGAIN AND AGAIN AND ARE NOT SIVING THE PROBLEM. I AM FOLLOWING UP THE PROBLEM FROM LAST ONE MONTH AND HAVE TALKED TO HUNDREDS OF CUSTOMER CARE TECHNICAL EXECUTIVES. STILL THEY DONT COME OR SEND ANYBODY TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM. I HAVE ALMOST WASTED MORE THAN 1000 RUPEES FOR RECHARGING AND 1000 RUPEES IN CALLING THEM AGAIN AND AGAIN. IT SEEMS THAT TATA TRAINS THEIR PEOPLE TO CHEAT CUSTOMERS.

      IN A COUNTRY OF MORE THAN 100 CRORE PEOPLE IF THEY ARE SUCCESSFULL IN GETTING FREE 1000 RUPEES FROM EVEN 1 CRORE PEOPLE THEY EARN Rs. 1000 CRORES. THIS FRAUD I THINK TATA IS DOING TO PAY HIMSELF FOR THE LOSSES OF TATA NANO.

      Your problem seems to be slightly ambiguous it is not mentioned as to why is your Tata Sky not working for which you have to recharge it again and again.Is it the display problem ? Are the channels not available? In case a technician visit is required they will send their personnel to look into the matter and at no cost they will refuse to do so. You need to store the case number provided by Tata Sky customercare this will help you to find details as to why you have been charged.Tata Sky conducts business in a ethical enviornment and values its customer seek help and they will provide it to you.
      I I think first you should clearly specify what the actual problem is. You have not mentioned any specific problem which you are facing. You have not mentioned what is not working. No one will make you pay without any reason. Also, they have good technical engineers to solve problems. Tata sky is considered top most brand in DTH. It is far better than Dish tv or others. I suspect that there is some misunderstanding somewhere. Hopefully it should get sorted.

        I purchased Tata sky one and half year back in bhilai chhatisgarh.Then I shifted to saifai , Etawah,UP . there I looked for tata sky dealer . I could not find any dealer near by. then I got tata sky hardware installed with the help of local people .It could not be installed propely and clear was not comming . I called tata sky custommer care. I was told that a tata service engineer will come to new address and check the problem and after that relocation charges of 350 will be deducted from account.But no tata sky engineer came and RS 350 was deducted from account.I have informed this problem to TATA SKY custommer care. but they are saying i[censored] do not pay 350 services will be discontinued

        HI Mr.Manoj,
        Since this is a relocation case there should have been a technician visit for which you would have to pay for but since you have shifted the hardware and tried setting it up yourself this will not involve any cost by you to Tata Sky However there was a need for a technician visit which is always charged by any Co. Address the non arrival of the technician to the customer care they will be in a better position to help you out.

          Sir,

          1. Last month I had purchased DTH connection of TATA SKY. As on today there are different players who offer DTH connection in market. Few of them being Airtel, Reliance, Videocon, Dish etc.
          2. It is obvious that it is not possible to study and start comparing each company on merits/ demerits of product or quality or packages being offered. Seeing the market trend and Ad by celebrity Aamir Khan, I decided to buy TATA SKY. Also due to the fact, that it is a reputed company.
          3. All said and done, the real issue which requires inquest is the various packages being offered by TAT SKY. The company is offering super value pack for Rs. 200 pm with 101 channels, out of which, there are 51 channels which nobody would like to watch. Company deception does not get over here, Company is offering super saver pack for Rs. 275 pm with 213 channels. As name specifies, this package should suffice all the requirements of consumers. But surprisingly, it is not so. In this package at the cost of Rs. 275 pm, there is no sports channel like Star Cricket, Ten Sports etc. and no lifestyle channels like Colors, Zoom etc.
          4. Above examples clearly shows that TATA SKY is deceiving the innocent consumers. TATA expects Rs.45/- + Rs. 45/- i.e. Rs. 90 extra, over and above the super saver pack ( Rs 275pm) for popular channels to be show to consumers. On the contrary other DTH providers are offering much more popular channels at very economical rates. If so, is the case then let them not name the packages as super saver/ super value pack etc. Because I feel instead that these are not super saver, but super looter packages.
          5. In view of above vide this letter, I request for the following:-
          (a) Redesigning of entire packages with minimum cost by TATA SKY.
          (b) Introduction of more number/ mixed channels in one package e.g. sports , lifestyle, movies, entertainment etc.
          (c) Introduction o[censored]nder mentioned new channels immediately in existing packages.
          (i) FOCUS TV - news and current affairs.
          (ii) PRAGYA - spiritual/ lifestyle channel.
          (iii) KATYIEN - spiritual channel.
          6. In this regard, issue has been registered with national Consumer helpline No. 199773 dated 05 Sep 09.

          Tata Sky is one of the top players in the dth market, in todays consumercentric world consumer has the right to choose from the availability in the market due attention is paid to a brand which has strong features in terms of quality, offerings etc. Tata Sky strives to fulfill customer satisfaction. Tata Sky has a well structured package segregated to satisfy customer needs for eg: A woman would not have much interest in sports whereas only few men would find interest in cooking. In case of group interest in a household then it would necessitate demand. In ascending order of importance the packs are named correctly. The annual pack aims at providing customer with most benefits, the number of channels are on the rise and they are increasing the number gradually. Hope you understand that Tata Sky are exploring best ways to fulifill demand and meet consumer needs.

            Dear sir,
            I relocated my premises in the same city,and carried the complete kit to relocate.
            1) Your SO CALLED SERVICE ENGINEERS couldn't even note the proper ADDRESS in the first place.
            2) Over that their brought some meter and couldn't even adjust the DISH to the proper angle 90 degrees.AND WE FAMILY MEMBERS TOGETHER SET THE DISH AND GOT THE SIGNAL, I THINK WE ARE BETTER ENGINEERS.
            3) Your call center so called AGENT, cant even speak ENGLISH AND OVER THAT said that you would provide us a new cable but your INEXPERIENCED so called ENGINEERS used the SA...ME OLD CABLE.perhaps, unfortunately there is a very very BIG communication gap between your so called CALL CENTER AGENTS.
            4) Your charges are only Rs350, but up to now i have paid Rs900, kindly provide me a receipt.
            5) Till now we have paid EXCESS CHARGES,please look into this COMPLAINT AND GET BACK TO US AS SOON AS POSSIBLE or we will have to SELECT SOME OTHER SKY NETWORK.

            Hi Neslynbs,
            Address is confirmed at the time technician visit is alloted. If the engineers could not set up the dish at that moment you shouldn't have beared charges. The callcentre of Tatasky is very helpful and seeks resolution of customer once again if there was no new cable you should not have paid any amount every company technician visit is charged and in case you have paid you should have demanded a receipt that instant. I have had a great experience with Tata Sky viewing quality and customer service although I didn't have to relocate the service provided has been good.

              I have purchased LG LCD TV from Saniya Distributors, Aurangabad under the scheme, where Spectramind Marckting Noida is suppose to deliver free DTH Tata sky connection.
              I have sent all required documents to them, my form number is 394657.
              It's now more then one month passed but still waiting for my DTH.
              Spectramind has 30 telephone lines but no one picks up the phone always you will hear the same tape “All our customers’ executives are busy”

              Since under the scheme of LG LCD TV you avail the offer of Free Tata Sky STB dth connection you should get in direct contact with the dealers visit their outlet and get information as per the delivery report of the STB, in this case Tata Sky cc will not be the right channel for assistance.

                WE HAVE TAKEN TATASKY CONNECTION ON 26/08/09. THE REMOTE SUPPLIED ALONG WITH SETOF BOX WAS FAULTY. WITHIN A WEEK WE HAVE BEEN PROVIDED WITH ANOTHER REMOTE WHICH ALSO TURNS OUT TO BE FAULTY. NOW AFTER REPEATED COMPLAINTS WE HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THERE IS NO NEW REMOTES FOR THEM TO REPLACE. ARE THEY GIVING ONLY FAULTY REMOTES WITH NEW CONNECTIONS ?

                AFTER 5 DAYS ALSO I AM STILL WAITING FOR TATASKY ENGINEER TO SUPPLY ME NEW REMOTE.

                I HAVE STARTED FEELING THAT I HAVE TAKEN A WRONG DECISION OF BUYING TATASKY, WITHIN A MONTH SOMUCH OF COMPLAINTS AND NOT AT ALL ATTENDED .

                my name is SACHIN AGARWAL i have used tata sky last two year my subscriber id [protected]. last day my digi cam not work and not show the channel and power off. i am go to AKASHVANI RADIOS R/O MANNI KA BAR ALWAR DISTRIBUTOR OF TATA SKY. and repair to my digi cam. i have pay 350 rupees. but not receipt give the dealer. so i am not satisfied your dealer and your service and your company. so pls. i request to you. pls. solve the my problem. otherwise i will take a action.

                  Tata Sky, Dish TV, Big TV and all the other platforms do not have a single Islamic channel. Just check out the number of channel these companies provide. Be it Hinduism or Christianity.

                  What a shame it is being in a country like India where there are more than 20% muslim population.

                  On a DTH platform there are wide variety of offerings in channel packages internationally and regionally the providers in UAE DUBAI might be providing such channels a majority resolution proposed might help in introducing such channels.

                    I am not sure whether you can refill sub id's since this is a payment related issue address this matter to CC accounts department.
                    Agar Apke Account se Amount kat gaya hai to customer k account me jaroor Trasfer ho gaya hoga
                    otherwise apne kisi dusre customer ke account mein Paisa dal diya hai.

                        I am having Tata sky connection with subscriber ID [protected], I added Sports platinum pack from registered mobile number. Now as I wan't to unsubscribe the pack I requested TATA sky customer care to drop the package. Customer care executive Mr Ankur, said straightaway that "TATA sky has not asked you to subscribe so we can't drop the package. Further as the package can't be dropped within one month of its subscription please pay for the month and wait." While I got a message on tata sky about subscription of this package I did not receive any such conditions along with it. I wasn't at all aware about such conditions.

                        Moreover there is no option to drop the channels or packages online which means we can add or change packages online but can't drop the packages. We have to call everytime we want to change something.

                        This is how Tata sky is abusing the customers.

                        I hope someone will come to the rescue and make necessary ammendments in the "conditions" of dropping channels on Tata sky.

                        I faced the same issues from those ! And moreove, the customer care reps are not at all humble and mannerful when they talk to you. They argue over unnecessary issues and do not listen to the customers.
                        I agree there is not online facility to unsubscribe which is very inconvenient. We have to call and wait for long times to talk to the customer care executives who have no power whatsoever to help the customers. They are just dumb assess who do not move with the gentle words and need a hunter of abuses, which too makes no differences to them. I think they have a ear drum as thick as the skin of a hippo.

                        I dont know how to get help and just can't feel like removing the tata sky connection and subscribing to some other provider because it was so dam expensive when I took it and I won't be getting my deposit back.

                        Tatasky sucks and is useless..Please never go for a tatasky connection.

                          This is not the fault of Tata Sky. Zee gujarati has be taken of air by zee entertainments in Feb of this year and to secure Tata Sky in the occurence of such events Tata Sky website mentions. Tata Sky Ltd. reserves the right to add or drop a channel/ package/ service from any package and/or change the package rates this is mentioned in channels and packages.So it is Zee who got zee gujarati off the air and not Tata Sky.

                            I've been registered in NDND directory (NDNC/1348 Dated[protected] & I have received a confirmation SMS also that my mobile number have been registered.                             TATA SKY+ — Unwanted SMS

                            I've been registered in NDND directory (NDNC/1348) & have received a confirmation also stating that my mobile number have been registered. But still getting telemarketing calls from TATA SKY+ on regular basis. I have also complaint it to my Service provider (MTS) but they can also not help me in this matter.

                            Suggest me what can i do
                            There is a function to barr unwanted calls or a setting in the phone that can help you avoid flash messages. What you could do is kindly request these callers not to call and furthur inquire about any queries from Tata Sky customer care:[protected].
                            The right department to look into your matter concerned is the callcentre Sales department. Since they call you on a daily basis as you have mentioned you should note down the name of the agent you have last spoken to. Regardless of Tata Sky no Co. gives repetitive calls on the same number by this way they are increasing overheads which any Co. will strongly focus at avoiding.
                            We are Tata Sky customers.on 27/06/2016somebody from yr call enter rang up, offering extra channels.since we aren't interested my husband turned it down.Today, (28/06), again a tele marketeer, Vaishali, called up at 1. 45pm. I turned it down& asked her not to bother us.Five mins later another one, Maheshwari, called up. I got annoyed&told her we are n't interested.But at 5.15pm, we got a call from [protected], this time, a man. He insisted on talking ONLY to the person in whose name Tata Sky is registered. I pointed out to him that since he was the one who was calling he can as well talk to me& that already twice today we had received calls&was senior citizens we are not for any new packages. He was quite rude& insistent. I do hope your people record every thing, so you will know what I am talking about.

                              My Tata Sky Subscriber ID is [protected] and i have no signal for a week. I have been calling Tata sky almost 4-5 times a day and yet my problem is not solved. First it took 4 days for the engineer to come home and check the problem. He fixes the problem and after some time - again the problem is back. When you call them again they say, "now we are out and we have other complains so i will come tomorrow" that means we are without Tata sky for a day. They have changed the box and even then we have a problem. This is so frustrating. Hope there is someone who will listen to consumers. This is a very bad and pathetic service for a huge company like Tata. Who is just interested in sales and no service

                              The problem of weak signal strength mostly occurs due to alignment shift in cable and antenna pointing. However your problem seemed to different due to which your hardware was replaced and better in case you stand in warranty. The technician number who visited your place is a necessity to get in contact and resolve your issue. The customer care will be able to help you better in case you have stored the technicians no.

                                I wanted to remove sports gold pack and add espn-star pack, but on the website there is no option for removal of packages. Apparently, they just want us to add packages and milk more money out o[censored]s.
                                Moreover, the search feature on tatasky website is utterly useless, and I finally had to 'google' my concern to find in other forums that a package can only be removed by calling up there call centre.

                                Tata Sky — Annual Package of Sport Gold

                                Since last one year i am using Tata Sky. After some time they introduced Sport Gold pack which consist Neo Sports with two channels. I have opted for annual pack costing of Rs. 149. After completion of 1 year, they have added this pack on monthly basis to my subscription without my permission. When i contact the CCE, they didn't have any satishfactory answer. They also told me that we do not have any more the annual pack for this channel. You have only option for monthly pack. In such case, i can see easily i am loosing Rs. 151 on annual basis.

                                I just want to ask why this is monopoly of such distributor is running in the market? Is there anybody who can sue this distributor and then can stop such behavior of Tata Sky?

                                when i call TATA sky help line No. his give me ans. i will not drop ur packages in 90 days. i told him before some month u will drop packed after next day. his told me our rules are changed.i told him by mistake i have open this channel package pls drop it. his told me his will drop next month(oct21) but his not drop. i will call again his give me same response his will drop package after 90 days. i told him his not give me any information about this drop pack in 90 days. i[censored] changed any rules u give the information our customer. but u dont give me any information about this condition. his told me i will give information only those person whose call tata sky help No. u open ur package using mobile MSG. i told him Pls drop may Pak. other wise i will take other action his told me take ur action i will not droop ur packed.

                                i am customer of tata sky since 1 year. i am a malayalee and i have choosen south jumbo package offered by tata sky.
                                when i subscribed to the package i had 6 channels. Now i observe that they have suddenly without any intimation to the customer have removed two popular channels namely DD malayalam and Amrita tv. I have spoken to the customer care and they have answered that these two channels have been removed for the inclusion of two hindi channels. i am truly dissappointed and feel cheated by tata sky. please suggest.

                                People this is an alarm for you.tata sky services are very bad.PLEASE DO NOT RECOMMEND TATA SKY TO ANYONE, they are just cheating us by telling that your package will only be removed after 90 days or 120 days or blah blah.. watever and whoever has taken tata sky please do not add channels or either you will be backstabbed.
                                Tata sky people are forcibly adding packages to customers packages. Without any information regarding charges, they talk over phone about pack and say that the pack is free for 91 days. But latter sms come to mobile that so much amount is added to your monthly subscription charges. This is completely unfair trade practice. When i contacted them over phone, they say, '' it cant be removed from package list before 91 days. this is a clear case of looting subscribers. i must say these people are astards.
                                Bad service in Ernakulam. Sent NS to tatasky, they never contact us. The message itself costs 3Rs to send and calling them costs too. I cant remove English movies pack. They only have option to add packages and addons.

                                I have been a customer of TataSky for more than 7 years. While the content quality is good, I hate their business tactics.                                   The above mentioned channels being Marathi channels, Tata Sky has a list of its exclusive existing channels 31 DD Sahyadri Marathi, 832 ETV Marathi Marathi, 833 Zee Marathi Marathi, 834 Mi Marathi Marathi, 835 Star Majha Marathi, 836 Star Pravah Marathi. Tata Sky also provides IBN 7 most of these channels share the same content of the above mentioned channels I am happy with the listings of Marathi channels. You should watch these channels too.

                                    get a message "Invalid format.Please send SMS again".

                                    Please advise me how to

                                    same procedure as advised to add Star Cricket.

                                      I got TataSky subscription on 22/8/2009. I have been very happy with their service so far. But the following evnts has left a bad taste in the mouth.

                                      1. On 21/8/2009 I called the Tatasky Call center and requested for new service.
                                      2. Call support personnel asked me which package I am interested in.
                                      3. As I had done extensive research before calling them, I told them that I would like to go for "Annual Mega Pack".
                                      4. I was told that there's a one month free subscription and I can take the annual package after one month. But for Sports Channels I have to pay extra(as that free package doesn't include any sports channel).
                                      5. I paid extra bucks for sports channel on 24/08/2009.
                                      6. Please note that no one mentioned that the price for the annual pack is inreasing and no one told me that I will have to pay the new price if the price changes in that one month.
                                      7. Just after one week(31/8/2009) I got a shock when in one of the forums it was mentioned that the price for the annual pack was increased by 500 Rs.
                                      8. I called up help desk again and told them that it's a clear case of misinformation from their side. Ans requested them to allow me to get into annual package at 5000 pa.(old price).
                                      9. it was outrigthly rejected saying it's my misunderstanding.(not sure how they can claim their customores are !! )
                                      10. I was asked to send a mail to [protected]@tatasky.com.
                                      11. I sent a mail on 3/9/2009. I got a automated response withing minutes saying the issue would be answered in 24 hours!!..(Service Request Reference Number: 1-[protected])
                                      12. It's been 5 days now and after 1 more follow up mail I have got no response from them.

                                      Could any on help me escalating this issue? Or are we getting cheated in the name of Tata which we trust blindly?

                                      would be CEO's (w.e.f. 01/01/2011, e-mail id active) ID is harit.[protected]@tatasky.com & SKY TV UK CEO's ID is [protected]@sky.com. Pls contact them as customer service people hardly resolves any problem.
                                      I have requested for reinstallation on 1st June 2014 and its been 15 days no one has come to resolve it even after complaining again and again in customer care. Never expected such kind of services from tatasky Really fed up by following complaining for it.
                                      We missed Animax 3 years ago and we want to watch Animax Tata sky please.Can you "Animax" come back in October 2014 soon!!!

                                      Since one month I have been calling and have been told that someone will visit us in 24 hours, I was also asked to deposit Rs.230/- in my A/C to activate the same, I did deposit the amount but nothing has happenned, I have spoken to Mr.Dharmdenra, , Sulthana Akhthar and Moorty to name a few
                                      Today after one month I was told that my call is still unscheduled and I have to just keep waiting as they cannot tell me a definete time when someone would visit us.
                                      I must say that even pathetic cannot describe your service as that too would be a very light term, for an organisation which is backed by Tata group this was never expected.
                                      I have tried all my best to continue with Tatasky but of no avail
                                      I have finally decided to switch over to Hathway services, please let me know how do I get my refund of my deposit Amount

                                        Dear Sir / Madam

                                        As a regular practice i had asked the dealer to recharge my account no [protected] with a topup of Rs. 300/- on the 20th of August 09.
                                        Inspite of waiting for a long time of 4 hrs my service was not started, I made enquires and was told that the status at the dealer end was activated successful, but at the Tatasky end it was showing unsuccessful.
                                        since the dealer had given the printout of the successful recharge , there is no way i can blame him for it.
                                        I had registered 2 complains on 21st august ag. no. 1-[protected] and again reregistered the complain on 26th of August ag. no. 1-[protected].
                                        Till date on many enquires made with the helpline nos, they are pushing the blame on the dealer when I am dead sure the money is pocketed by Tatasky. as i have proof enough for this.
                                        My request is to get the refund of the said amount alongwith penalty as applicable from day one of default.
