Not receiving news paper from one month
I have subscribed for TOI newpaper as on 10th JAN 09, which is due for implementation from 16th Jan 09.
Till date (09-Feb-09) we have not received the news paper. We have called up the TOI Office / Agent and complained about the issue multiple times, but none responded to the issue. This is quiet disguisting and loosing faith in the TOI Management as this is the most common problem faced by every one who subscribe to this 6 month renewal policy. Request the concerned authorities to take stern action against the responsible and get the issue resolved.

Wrost Customer Service at Hdfc Bank Credit Cards Hyderabad - I am one of the extermely dispointed customer of HDFC Bank Credit Cards Hyderabad.

I had to pay rs:4600 for not doing a transcation at HDFC BANK... I had been calling bank since last 6 months asking for clarification on the dispute transcation.. they never give me clarifcaiton or explained the procedure to raise the dispute..

Now they came back stating that their records do not indicate receipt of any written communication from you seeking clarification on the above charges.

Classical example of Wrost Customer service and also very nice way to cheat customers.

The issue still not resolved after speaking with Swathi, debt management officer at[protected]



I have been calling to call center from 2008 asking for clarification on outstanding, nobody told us anything about dispute process. I have learnt from Swathi now that I will have to raise a dispute for the transaction in 2008 itself.



It is not my mistake if you guys don’t tell me the right information when I have called earlier.



a) She said that the disputed amount can’t be revised back and I will have to make the payment even if I have not done the transaction. This is ridiculous to expect payment on transaction not done by customer.



I have already stated that I have erroneously made the payment of rs: 4000 on this card.



If RBI says customers are liable for payment even though they don’t do transaction then I can only comprise to pay rs: 2000 (transaction debit) on this card and would want all the other charges to be revised and wants the credit of rs: 2000 immediately back from the rs: 4000 payment made by me on the card.



And please don’t give me any contacts numbers …… I am frustrated with your contact services.



If you want I can talk to someone in person because it seems in HDFC bank on Telephone nobody wants to take the ownership to resolve the customer issue rather just want to escape from it …….



If I talk to someone in personnel, I will know with whom I have spoken and I can catch him/her if things are not done.

specific resons why i am writing this email



1) I have not done any trascation on this card but i am been debited with full charges

2) Called up 50- 60 times to[protected] to know the information and they have give the below answers

a) System is down at this point, will call you back tomorrow

b) Don't have any information about you right know in our systems, will ask the manager to call you back tomorrow

c) we don't have access to your accout details, will ask the concerned department manager to call you back tomorrow

so on...

3) though we have not done any transaction, we have paid 4000rs errounously to hdfc bank(My mother made this payment)

4)Some Names i Remember are Seema, Deepti, Vikram, Sai rupendra, Latha subramaian and so on... it seems like none likes to take the ownership to resolve the issue... but standard reponse - will call you back..



couple of weeks back Sai Rupendra called me and told that some brand factory debit on my card but i have not done that transcation.. while i was communicating this to him.. call got disconnected .. i tried reaching him again but he was never available to speak.. on the same day i happen to speak with latha .. she said no information available will call you back.



couple of times i fainted becuase of this frustration.



i have never done any transaction and want the detailed explanation of the above and i will not pay anymore.



also, let me know the ombusman email id, i would like to escalate this issue to them as well.

Personal — Not receiving Newspaper in spite of subscription

I have subscribed to DNA in Bangalore and for the last 15 days not receiving the paper.Previously also, it was irregular.Not sure whom to contact.My customer booklet number is 99867.Their numbers are not contactable and their email address is of no use.

Only Blore, hyd apart from metros are visible. It was nice reading Pune paper...

I absolutely agree. Even my work for benchmarking has been affected due to the absence of the TOI epaper in Ahmedabad and Jaipur. I have tried calling them. Once they said that it was a technical problem which will be rectified in two three weeks, but now when i call them, they refuse to answer. I dont know under what circumstances their paper is called Number one honestly to tell you the truth

i used to go trtu the e-paper in my office . but now i m not able to, imy paper vendor comes after i leave for office so i depend on net only.

I agree to your complain. Every year more than 1000 students from Pune go to US alone for higher education and TOI is the only way they can reach to their cities.

I and my family residing in USA, used to read the epaper of Times of India Ahmedabad Edition daily, but to my surprise, i dont know why its not there anymore.

TOI Lucknow epaper was serving the people who are out of Lucknow for some reasons.But now we all are missing our metro Lucknow which was available in the face of TOI Lucknow.So I have a request to get it back for 50 lakhs people of Lucknow.

Why r u doing injustice to people of L:ucknow who r living abroad by not allowing them to read Lucknow Edition of The Times of India.

Hey i completely agree to the complaint. I study at IIT Kanpur and need to get the news from my Ahmedabad daily morning.
These days i rely on Ahmedabad Mirror e paper for the same. It is nice but still i surely need TOI back.

Three months from now ! The epaper is not available for the metro cities like Pune.Lucknow, Ahmedabad &some other cities.This is the condition of TOI media.On what basis they are calling it the no. 1 english daily.

We are getting The Times of India Ahmedabad edition at Kosamba town Taluka Mangrol near Surat. It is observed that we are not recieving complete pages as prescribed on the newspaper.

economic times and Times of india — supplements are not available

I am regular reader of Times of india and Economic times here in KOLHAPUR Maharastra.but from last two months i am not getting Monday suppliment of economic tmes. Eighteen pages are written and i get
fourteen pages. Similarlly for times of india i dont get sunday suppliments. I asked many of my friends from kolhapur they are facing same problem. My newspaper boy says it comes in this way from poona.
Whats the problem? I went to times of india office in kolhapur but of no use. Kindlly look in to the matter

This is a complaint related to the matrimonial advertisement in times of india, pune edition ... i am from aurangabad and had given an matrimonial advertisement for my daughter... the team of pune times working here in aurangabad is nor cooperative neither sensible for being here ... i went there and asked for the formalities for the advertisement to be pblished ... they handed me the form and informed me that 5 lines would cost Rs 2850 and we agreed to the fact ... next 2 days there was no one available on the site ... third day when we went we were told that the mentioned statement of five lines would be costlier (abt 4000) so we should decrease the content ... so it was done ... again after confirmation also, there was no add published ... again calling back to him, we could know that was a technical mistake ...ok ...before the add was published, there was a call from the head office and was conveyed that one more line can be adjusted without any extra charge ... i really thank them for that ... but today again when the add was finally published i found them in Brahmin section instead of bengali section ... for a middle class family like us Rs 2850 is lot ... so whom should we approach the same ... the local branch who is so ignorant or we should not trust TOI ?

I have been in Chennai for the past 2.5 years and have been able to access TOI Pune edition and enjoyed reading the news and folks at Pune were getting physical copies. In this way I was knowing happenings in Pune.However for the past 20 days I am not able to access it. If there is problem or the site has been discontinued TOI should inform or message should be flashed that it not available for free like in Hindu -epaper is available only with subscription. We then can take our decision.

persons who cause trouble should be punished by police, court, even compensation should be given to suffered person alas!it can"t happen in india because its gandhi ji desh evrybdy is habitual of bearing problems

I am staying in Shipra Suncity built flat. We have been facing severe water seepage problem for the last one and half years. One of our room's wall is totally damaged even our tiles come out from floor Now water is dropping to our AC fitting wall This problem is weakening the structure of the flat. We have already talked to the President of RWA.He came to our house and see all structure and went to Owner of the above flat from where the seepage is coming. The person is not ready to talk to us and when last week our RWA President visited his house he didn't came out and pretendthat nobody is in the house. When we met him he was shouting on me and used loose words.This bad stucture feeling is giving mental agony and depression to me and to my family.My child at home facing too much congestion due to dust particles from this seepage.And we have avoid to use that room.

I have subscribed the Times of India for 6 months. Recently I have changed my residence to nearby location lesser than a quarter kilometer. From then its trouble receiving paper. No complaint is properly received. Such a bad service. Times of India cant let their redears down like this. They should act on these complaints

One of your RRE’s Mr. Nishanth (RRE code R02009 Mob No: [protected]) had come to my door on 1st Apr 2011 with a special offer to subscribe Times Of India Dhamaka Offer. Order No: 21o517, Sunday Times Dhamaka Offer. Order No: 207936, I agree to the terms & paid him by cheque (chq no:074842 dt:04/01/11 DCBank). Mr. Nishanth promised me that my subscription would start on 8th Apr 2011.

On 8th Apr 2011, I did not receive my subscription. So, I advice people over here not to believe in such offers...

I am really very unhappy with the horrible customer service provided to me by The Times of India. I either want my issue to be resolved or I need to cancel my subscription. Such incompetence is unacceptable.

strict action should be taken by TOI against such blunders. As the reputation of such elegent esteemed daily is being hampered by probably the local distributers.

I have asked for subscription over phone but till date there was no response and the person who spoke told they will issue the paper from 1st december but nothing has hapened so far.Poor
customer service from the News paper.

I agree, same thing is happened to me three years back. When I changed the house they stopped the paper, and even the paper has never been regular, all sundays they dont give the paper.

Again, I subscribed for 6 months, the paper supposed to come from 1 Jan 2009, it started on 3 Jan, and today 4 th Jan, again no paper.

I have the same experience as well.I have shifted from Madhapur to Kothaguda and there is no response from TOI authorities.I must say service is too poor.

The TImes of India — NOT GETTING FULL PAGES OF PAPER

iT'S VERY PITY THAT THE LOCALES OF Faizabad near to Ayodhya has not been assured of full pages of the content of the newspapers from the hawkers.It was constantly argued with them but to no avail.We are informed that all such nuisance are the outcome of the of the by pass activity at the distribution centre of the press itself probably in Lucknow.

It is becoming a common practise now a days. In most cases, the TOI complaints office / Agent would never pick-up the phone. Out of fortune, if we get connected, there is no prompt response from the TOI office and no one to ensure that this issue is fixed. I subscribed for this offer on 18th Nov and the implementation is supposed to start from 1st Jan 09. I have lost one month and I haven't received paper till date (01 Feb). Its quiet disgusting.

I strongly agree, Times of India is out of times.
I am staying in the same address for the last 3 years.
I used to get newpaper regularly till I subscribe to the 6 months scheme.
After that, TOI local agent is not supplying properl. When we contact them, he says, he is not getting money from TOI.When we contacted TOI several times over phone, they say that I would receive from the next day. I doubt what definition TOI have in their dictionary for Next day.

I had the same experience with The Times of India Newspaper service. After i subscribed to 6mths scheme, i recieved the newspaper for only one month, after which the hawker told me that your subscription is over. When i asked their office, he said that no one will listen or pickup phone at agency.
I have the bills with me, which says i am entitled to get the newpapers every day till June 2009.
Now if someone is reading these complaints from complaints department, can i know how to proceed in this case? and who is going to provide justice to above all the consumers complaints? as early as possible.

2- Our field agent will take calls but cannot do anything.
3- Our office staff express helplessness saying that they can't do anything more than call the field staff.

I have been subscribing for this paper under the "Times of India - Dhamaka offer" for more two years and renewed it last November. I am not getting the paper since the first of this month (February 2009). After 19 days, 6 phone calls and 4 assurances I am still waiting for my paper. I have tried to use the feedback form on the indiatimes portal but none of the messages get delivered.

I subscribed for TOI on dated[protected] vide payment receipt no. 73659 and 73569 both dated[protected]. It was assured by the representative that paper deliveru will start on[protected]. Since than I am trying on every possible number which is given to me. But I am not having any concrete answer.
I contacted Satish on [protected] then He gave me the number of Srinivas-([protected]) then I got the number of Raju[protected]/82) from him. I continued to receive the phone numbers but not the news paper. Is this the kind of service which TOI is supposed to give. It's not the matter of Rs. 160/- but the matter of principle. Hope the authorities of TOI will take a serious note of It.

I too faced same isseu with TOI. I have taken yearly subscription of TOI, and then i moved to the new place, i informed about the same, in TOi office in hyderabad many times, but didnt receive the paper at new place. To get the paper at new palce i atleast logged the complaint atleast 10-12 times.

After that i used to receive the paper for 2-3 days, and again the same old story used to repeate, am frustated with TOI and their agents!!!

The service is really poor!! TOI should take care of this issue.

I agree with most of the comments stated above. I paid for times dhamaka offer on 28 march 09 fir six months. The implementation was to commence wef 16 apr 09. I received the paper for about 15 days in may 09 after persuing the matter with TOI office several times. The paper was discontinued once again in june 09. No response fromTOI office. The distributer says that he is not receiving the free paper for distribution as well as monthly record from the office. The result is the customer goes without paper. Finally I had to request the distributer to supply another paper on payment. There seems to be great misunderstanding between the office and distributer that the management is not able to resolve.

Customer code 200355, where the service was pathetic. The paper was never delivered before 10am... and at times not even delivered. I called the Times office several times and asked them to stop the newspaper delivery due to very bad service, and was told once the subscription amount is exhausted the delivery will be stopped. However, now the delivery boy is demanding money for the past few months of paper delivered. I was under the impression that the paper is delivered for the several complaints raised.. as a service gesture.. However, this is not the case as realised now. The boy never comes when we are at home, at times, had to ask the watchman to know if the boy had come as there is no trace of the paper.
No one at the Times office respond to the phone calls made.. 23355335, this is one of the worst of the kind of service one can expect for a newspaper of such stature.
Hope the people at Times would be sensible enough and act to atleast reduce the complaints..

I see that this is a common complaint that TOI stops subscription when someone moves into a new locality.

I subscribed for 6 month TOI in January this year. After moving to Ayappa Society from Secunderabad i asked the office to provide paper to the new address. After 15 days and plenty of reminders to their office as well local executive and local vendor no body has responded to my problem. I too was told that TOI has not made payment to vendor and as such i was not getting my papers. Inspite of repeated complaints i have not got my paper. The way i see it from the previus complaints written here that my money is gone and i wont get my papers.

Yeah, I strongly agree with the complaints.I have been a customer of TOI 6 months program 4 one and half years.I used to get paper regularly except on sundays.I dnt know, y the sales person doesnt drop paper on sunday.I made a complaint to TOI, but they r the real culprits, didint take any action.The same prevailed.
Last week, the sales person came up to me asking for service charge, which I have already paid before.I conveyed the same to him.

I think the Times of India areas sales executive is playing hand in glove game with the local distributer to cheat the customers of Times of India. We should take up the matter with their top management as a group. I am facing the following problem with TOI and their agents.

Times of India & Economic Times (group paper) print on the front page if these papers are bought together, the customer will get 30% discount. but the local distributer is denying this concession and demands full charges for both papers, saying TOI is not giving this discount.

I would like to take up these matters with TOI higher-ups, through email and phone campaigns. I feel group campaign yields better results for all o[censored]s.

I request those who are being cheated by TOI / their agents in Hyderabad, specifically in Madhapur area, to send me an email, contact number, and the issue they are facing. I would like to include their issues as well and take it up with TOI Hyderabad.

I opted for offer yesterday via executive after speaking to my current delivery man (As per him he dnt have offer) and hence I stoped my current paper and went with TOI offer for 6 month. I strongly agree that Times of India is out of times and now people should avoid such scrap newspaper and specially its service i mean it delivery.

I used to get newpaper regularly till I subscribe to the 6 months scheme. After that, TOI local agent is not supplying properly. Even he is receiving call. When I contact him finally, he says, he is not getting money from TOI.When i contacted TOI several times over phone, they say that I would receive from the next day. I doubt what definition TOI have in their dictionary for Next day.

Please dont subscribe for 6 month schemes of TOI.

We have been out for 10 days our newspaper vendor from Times of India is saying we have to pay for full month instead of jus 20 ds inspit of the fact that we have informed him before going that we will be out for these 10 days.

His plea is that since you have taken combo offer of Economic Times and Times of India so it is for complete one month when we talked to Times of India office they say it is totaaly wrong offer is valid even for a day he cannot force customer to give ful month payment.

They also assured us that paper will be start coming from other vendor to us in 2- 3 days then ater 3 days they told us same vendor will deliver you from tommorow but even after 10 days it is not coming inspite of the fact that we have been talking to TOI office every day and every day they assure it will come from tommorow.

Seems TOI has created monopoly of vendors in particula area instead of company controlling the vendors they are controlling the company and not even litsening to them which is creating problem for the cutomers. It was assured to us by Samita Kulkarni, Amar and Asik from TOI Subscription Office Bangalore

In this regard i have complained to TOI OFFICE more than 4 times but no response from the concerned authorites.This is highly condemnable. Their Local field staff karthik is very arrogant and discourteous to the subscribers.He is at selaiyur( camp road). The authorities should remove him forthwith because he is doing disservice to the TOI. After collecting pre-paid subscription for 12 months, TOI OFFICIALS are not bothered about delivery of news paper to subscribers. It is high time people should boycot TOI PAPER and switch over to some other paper. Definitely, people will teach them a befitting reply to the callous and indifferent attitude of the authorities of TOI .

I too face irregular delivery of this paper. May be due to the negligence of TOI or no tracking mechanism the delivery boy or the delivery agent make a quick buck in not delivering the copy to subscribers.

TOI should device a feedback mechanism to resolve such issues on daily basis through email and how many copies are not delivered to subscribers.

Sir i applied for times 1yr subscription pack & after gettin the booklet order No-NAA 113786 in 'Jan 09', i nad not received the Newspaper to my place even a single Day its been months, i hav been calling to Chennai marketing Dept(Mr.Srinivasan) but i hav not received my Refund / any response frm them, So now i hav decided to File a Suit immediatly, if this complaint does'nt affect them..

I too face problem reg the irregular delivery of this paper. This is purly due to the negligence of TOI.

The delivery boy or the delivery agent also switching off their mobiles.Unable to reach them.Even i have not received the bag which TOI have to as per the offer.

I also got a call from TOI regarding feedback, i also informed them about this.But still no actions seems to have been taken.

TOI definitely needs to look into these complaints.

From the first day of my subscription this year, I get my paper only round 8 AM. It is hardly of any use to me as I need to leave home to my office around 8 AM. Well, it is was good last time that atleast i was given 12 coupons and had a choice to move to a different dealer in between. This year, my dealer has not even shown my subscription form and all I have is the order form and I have been fighting with him over past few months to return my form so that I can move to a different dealer. Atleast, once in a month I don't get TOI at all. When I call my dealer, he gives some lame excuse. His RRE code is CR0130.

I also buy The Hindu paper and there is a another dealer incharge of it. I usually get the Hindu paper within 6.30 AM. He also supplies TOI. I wish to switch over my dealer.

Regarding this I have complained thrice to TOI call centre and of no use. My latest complaint reference is 185254. I was promissed that the problem would be sorted out by Monday (25th May) but still the complaint is in pending status. Even today morning I called up the call centre for checking the status.

Well, as far as TOI is concerned I have paid my cheque to Benett and Coleman and think TOI is responsible for this poor service.


Could anybody from TOI call up and solve my problem. Else, I might need to take this issue to Consumer court for poor service ( whether you care or not.)

This is to bring to your kind attention that I am a regular subscriber to TOI for the past 3 years. Prior to this I was a regular reader of "The Hindu" for more than 10 years. I have also recommended more than 15 persons to subscribe TOI.

Worst Service

I received my copy daily on time (Before 6:30 am) during the 1st year and I was happy on the service and quality, which also made me to subscribe for the next year (last year). But from last year this has become worse, I neither receive my copy on time(Min only after 7.30) nor receive the paper regularly. if it rains I am sure now that I will not get the paper for the day, even my kid knows that.

Especially even it drizzles I don't get the paper for the day and sometimes the paper is delivered to me the next day or day after. (2 or 3 papers at a time)

This I have complained to the call centre and also to the agent many times. Still there is no improvement.

This is clearly visible that there is no respect or response if we complain to any.

Subscription renewal

Still when your person called us for this year[protected] subscription renewal, we had a second thought and after lot of hesitance we renewed on the assurance given by your team that all the issues will be sorted out. Keeping some faith on your esteemed TOI we further renewed for this year also, well ahead of the date of expiry.

But till date I have not received my copy. I received my last copy on 19 th Aug 2010. After the rain on 20th i have not received my copy till now. As per my old order i hope I am supposed to get my copy till 30 th of august 2010 where the subs of last year started from 1st September 2009.

Apart from this I have renewed for this year on 17/08/2010, (RRE Code : CR 1973, Depot Code: D3165, Dealer Code :[protected] Still i have not received the subscribtion.

Call center

I would have contacted the call center many times ( around 20 times in the 2 months) but of no use.

Even for this subscribtion I am calling the call certer almost daily and every day i get an assurance from different person/agents that this will be solved today. But nothing has happened till now.

Finally after raising my voice with the agents yesterday a person named Karthik call up and told that this will be sorted out today and he was on the way to our house to meet us. But till now he has not turned up and if we try to call him up he is not picking up the call.

Past 1 month I am suffering to get my copy but no one is able to help me out. Finally TOI has proved that they dont care about subscribers/ customers. The pain is only for the customer and TOI doesnt care about this is very much evident.

I haven't received the paper for the past two weeks properly. The delivery boys usually throws the papers at my house. That is ok and understandable, if it falls at my place. sometimes the papers were thrown in lane and they were just leaving. If we tell them they are behaving harshly. Delivery is also very irregular. please pay attention on this serious issue and do the need full. It is completely spoils the reputation of the paper. You may tend to loose many customers.
