[Resolved] Voltas 1.5 T Split AC Vertis Elite Silver — Lack of Quality | |||
Voltas 1.5 split a/c- Veritas Elite-Quality complaints I purchased a 1.5 T split a/c- Voltas Elite silver ,on 7.1.11 from Shahs, Adyar. The machine was to be installed on the next day but due to a mis match of one of the parts supplied. The installation was completed on 12.1.11 only. The base plate for fixing the a/c on the wall was not matching with the machine supplied. A new base plate was obtained by the technician but this also was not matching and the third and last attempt succeeded.. We had to make umpteen telephone calls to Voltas and their agents and wait patiently till this exercise was completed. The interesting aspect is that the base plate does not bear any part no. or identification mark, though for different models different plates are used. I don’t know how the ensure interchangeability. The old hit and miss method by trials still continues. This was definitely not expected from Voltas. The machine worked for a few days and cooling was poor. On a fresh complaint the technicians found out that there was gas leak from the compressor and this was rectified on 1.2.11. The unit tripped quite often and yet another complaint was lodged. The technician concluded that on 14.2.11 that this is due to low voltage, though I have a good stabilizer and have no case of such ‘low voltage’ for any other appliance including my Samsung a/c. On each occasion I asked them to show me the temperature readings by thermometer, but they refused, as it seems their hands can estimate the temperature better than a thermometer. A complaint was lodged on the Voltas website page but nothing has happened to this. The booklet issued with the A/C has no relevance to the product. The remote shown on the booklet is totally different from what is actually supplied. Is this the much touted quality of Voltas. Voltas A/c may be good but the total lack of quality consciousness by supplying mis-matching parts, wrong technical leaflets, gas leak from a brand new compressor and providing incompetent technical service reflect on the lack of commitment and pride in the organization and tarnishes the name of Tatas. Users should think twice before buying this a/c as the quality cannot be taken for granted in spite of the Brand name Was this information helpful? | |||

same problem I am facing. Gas leakage /repeated complaints, but I think voltas has shown their skill only to sell their products (which is going to be zero in near future) - but failed to provide good quality product - worst is their after sale service.
After sale service is so poor that even technician does not know basics of air conditioning

Voltas/V Elite Split A/C — Gas Leak/Notworking
Dear Sir,I have purchased Air condition from M/S Jeyam & co Anna nagar ChennaiVide their
bill no 1149/14/05/2009.During fitment A/C is not working he told to send the enginner.One person came on 21/05/2009 inspected he told the gas is not available inside. Again another person came and filled the gas on 23/05/2009.After one month the A/c is not working.Again i report the shop owner to replace the A/c.He told to fill the gas again to check the A/c.Again & again iam facing the same problem.Kindly to replace the Air condition immediately.
