Dear Sir,

Re; Complaint No. Case ID 1905581 Dt. 5th May, 2009

This is to inform you as under:-

1. That a Laptop “Dell Inspiron 1545, Blue, 3GB, 320 GB, Vista Premium” was purchased by me on 23/04/2009 for Rs. 42500/- vide Invoice NO. LT/S/09-10/S1/147 Book No. 3 Dt. 23/04/2009 from your Exclusive Show Room at NOIDA
2. That since I was not satisfied with the laptop I requested your showroom people to return it and give me credit voucher as is permissible as per Dell’s Return Policy-India, 2002 as published on your website. They point blankly refused to listen to me and referred me to Your official Sh. Sandeep Narula.
3. I contacted Sh. Narula and explained him the facts, who assured me to reply shortly. However inspite of more than 100 calls at his cell No. [protected], and mails to his Dell, s ID( the log of which is available with me and will be produced at an appropriate time), he could not give me any reply. My email to Mr. Narula Dt. 1st May is enclosed for your ready reference.
4. Since Sh. Narula assumed no responsibility to satisfy the customer(which in itself is very very derogatory on part of a Company like Dell), I made a complaint on line to your [protected]@dell.com on 5/5/09 and got an automatic reply on 6/5/09 with RE care ID- 1905581. I had to remind again on 8/5/09 for a reply.
5. On 11/5/09, your people asked me provide Service Tag number, which after ascertaining I wrote to them on 12/5/09. the Service Tag no was J9G13BS.
6. You have such a battery of Intelligent people who after such a long exchange of emails, again asked me on 13/5/09 “ Please let us know the issue to take it forward.”
7. I again told them the issue on 13/5/09 as is evident from the enclosed papers.
8. Then on 15/5/09, your people told me that “Return Policy- India is not applicable for the retail purchase” meaning thereby that I am bound to suffer as I have purchased the laptop from your Exclusive show Room and not from you over net.
9. On 15/05/09 I asked them the name, email and phone no of your Incharge India to make a complaint to him. Your so sharp team could send me a reply on 22/5/09 at 13.17 under RE- case ID 1905581 directing me to write to

10 In view of the forgoing, I serve upon you this notice to provide para was reply to the following;-
a) Whether Dell Exclusive Show Rooms are not Yours? If yes, the purpose of showing their locations on your web site may please be explained?
b) Whether showing their locations on your website is with the sole intention of misconceiving and cheating the public at large like me?
c) Whether you maintain double policies/ standards viz. one for those who purchase it over net, and the other policy for those who purchase it from your Exclusive Show Rooms.
d) Whether your officials like the marketing men in the Showroom NOIDA, Mr. Sandeep Narula, Dell’s Delhi Officeincharge, The customer Care people working at your website are not guilty of gross misconduct for harassing your customer i.e. me or they have been doing so as per your instructions.
e) Whether the terms conditions shown on your website are applicable to your customers purchasing the machines from your “Dell’s Exclusive Showroom”

11 In addition to the reply to the above questions, I ask you to Pay the following amounts to me at the earliest

i) The refund of Rs. 42, 500/- which I had deposited with your “Dell’s Exclusive Showroom”
ii) Damages assessed to the tune of Rs. 50, 000/- towards hiding information, which a customer is lawfully entitled to know
iii) Damages to the tune of Rs. 50, 000/- towards mental agony and harassment committed by your officials since !st. May 2009 till 23/05/2009 and @ Rs. 1000/- per day till you settle the entire dues.


I further put you on notice that you must reply and pay me the aforesaid sums on or before 15th of June, 2009 failing which I shall be left with no option but to initiate legal action against your company under the appropriate provisions of Law at your entire risks as to costs & consequences thereof.

A copy of this notice has been retained in my office along with Annexure, which shall be used against you at an appropriate time.

Thanks for writing your complaint over this website and this is an eyeopener for me. As, I was planning to visit NOIDA DELL showroom for purchasing new laptop within 2-days.

But after going through your complaint, needless to say, that I have dropped this idea for purchasing DELL.

I request you, If DELL guy do not address your concern than definitely go for legal action against these people.

You Should escalate this complaint to various online complaint websites so that the people may not fool the consumers like you and me.

Dell India Pvt ltd — Online Order Commitment Not Fullfilled Due To Price Change

I booked Dell Laptop through their online booking system on 3rd Feb 2010. They acknowledged the order with message " One of our sales representative will be in contact you within next 24 business hours on telephone number you have provided below". They never called me. Today i.e. on 8th Feb I contacted through customer care number they said your order will be supplied Only against Upward revised price as per enclosed New Quotation. I think this is not a business. My Internet Ref No is IN[protected] dt 3.2.10.

DELL — Dell is not follow their own terms and conditions

I have just purchased a Dell Inspiron before 40 days. And started to getting hardware errors.
As per terms and conditions they replace the system within 30 days from date of purchase. Also they were aggree to replce the system.

But now they are saying they will only replace the HDD and also I need to pay for Windows 7 again. I got licence copy of Windows 7 with Core i3 Dell Inspiron. I don't understand what's the need to repay for licence version again.

Dell is not good at all.

I am still waiting for the battery to be delivered to me as committed by your team. It looks that Dell India has become a team of irresponsive bureaucrats who only promises but do not deliver.
Do you realize that i had ordered for the battery on 12th October and its 10th of January today and i am still not been updated about the delivery from your team.

I am trying desperately to get Naveen and Kishore on phone but its not being answered.
Please let me know if at all i am getting the battery or not. In case i am not getting it, please credit the amount back in my account with interest which i paid through my credit card.

I have been chasing to get you on phone but have not been successful. Want to know the status of my order which was done on 11th October and the product was to be delivered in 3-4 weeks. Now its 10th week and i still do not have any update.

I have confirmed for 9C battery instead of 6C battery where in you and your team in tele conference have confirmed me that 9C battery can be fitted in my Laptop as the size of both the battery is same.
Kindly rectify your order with 9C battery. In addition to that, you have told me the total value of 9C battery inclusive of all taxes as Rs6000/-. Moreover I am surprised as to why are you asking me the mode of payment when I've already paid the full amount by providing you my Visa credit card details over the telephone yesterday i.e.11-10-10

Please clarify.

IT SEEMS DELL IS FOLLOWING THE SAME PATH IN INDIA ALSO.

DELL IS EXTREMELY RUDE PEOPLE IN CUSTOMER SERVICE.

DELL INDIA — Non-refund of amount due

Through one of my friend, a Dell make Laptop was purchased from Dell Computers in USA and bought to Delhi. I have approached Dell India for extending warranty and ongoing service support. The Customer Service of Dell computers have agreed for the same and asked me to pay Rs.15,000/- for the same, which I agreed and the same was paid through by Axis Bank Credit Card. However, to my surprise the company informed me after a weeks time that the said product cannot be supported in India since it was a recent launch in USA. The company have agreed to refund the amount paid to them. The amount was paid to them on October 17, 2011 and it is more than a month now - still the company has not refunded the said amount to me. I seek your assistance in directing the company to refund the amount with interest and penalty for not honouring their commitment.

I purchase my dell laptop inspiron n5050 last year in september its still in warrnty period and on desktop its comming in written that your windows is not genuine i get back that dealer place comexel somdatt plaza the mall kanpur i show my issue to that dealer he asked me to left the laptop with him for a day so that he can re install my windows again but when i took my laptop from him after some days it again started showing that your window is not genuine...

Then i took the customer care number from dell website i contacted them about my issue so then they told me from where i purchased the laptop he has installed the pirated windows in my laptop and they asked me to purchase the original one which is costing near about rs.8000 i already paid such a huge amout to the dealer and again they were asking me to pay such a amount for the issue...

This particular fraud is done by the dealer twice with me y should i pay to buy such a big amount to get the genuine one this should be paid by the dealer and dell should take the action towards the dealer i mentioned his name and add above please check it out and resolve my issue...

Another cheat he has done he told me that his laptop has the warranty of 1 and haf year but now when i checked it on dell websie its showing my laptop has the warranty only for 1 year...how can the cheat like this please go through it and try to resolve my issue...

    I have a desktop PC Dell - Vostro - 200 bought with a genuine Win XP Home edition.

    After the immediate(1 year) expiration of the desktops 'Warranty', the DVD ROM has stopped detecting CDs(audio cds, writable cds, Video Cd's). But the DVDs are working fine. Mind you that these Cds are not pirated or bought from any black market.

    After calling Dell customer care 5 times in a row, every time i was compelled to hold the line for like 10 to 15 minutes and ultimately i cut the phone gettin fed up of waiting.
    At times i was lied to by the callers saying "there are no waiting calls in the line sir. your call will be the first one for them" !!!
    Is there no after sales provision of service for dell customers?

    Expecting some kind of positive response from the company.

      Subject - PF number KN/BN/24960/15790

      This is in reference to my above Provident Fund Account. I submitted my PF withdrawl through Dell ( badge number 841345 ) on 12th June 2008 which was submitted at the PF Office Banglore on 27th June 2008. I was informed that the PF amount would be credited to my account within 3 months, however, it is almost an year and I do not see any credit to my account. I have been in constant touch with the Dell PF Department at Banglore and I was informed that my PF papers are cleared. The PF amount settled are Rs.37608/- epf and eps is Rs.15204/- The cheques will be dispatched and credited to my account by end of December 08 or 1st week of january 09.

      I still have no information regarding the status of my PF credit. I tried to get in touch with the same person in Banglore but he asked me to contact the PF Commisioner Banglore for further information. I am extremely disappointed as I sent many letters to the following address but never got any response:

      Today is the second time i got into the bus at Shanthinagar which is at Lalapet and took ticket to Mettuguda and the lady conductor took 4/- from me at the same stop one lady got into the bus and getting down at mettuguda she took 2/- when i asked her why she took 2/- extra...She with an arrogance said today is the first day of my job so i dont know what to doa nd dont make it an issue and dont argue...This is the way she told me very rudely...If that lady is going by the dressin of a person how much amount to be charged then its wrong...As you know even we are earning money with dong lot of hard work not just getting freely as the RTC people are taking...Although few condutors are not giving change back they are keeping 1/- or 2/- and will go in the corner of the bus...as we see our stop would be near and the conductor will be somwhere...so we cannot call him...This is the one of the way they are earning money...i want an immediate action to be taken and Bus no is:14 or 16 AP9Z 7283.         I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 with 3 years next business day warranty. It has been giving me issues right from the day I bought it and makes me regret buying it. The stupid Dell machine started restarting intermittently.

        Since I have been in IT for last 9 years, I dont need Dell's call centre to tell me what needs to be done. I did all the troubleshooting and isolated the battery to be causing the issue. Finally I contacted Dell technical support to get the battery replaced and the the call centre agent gave me some basic stupid steps to perform which were not even close to what the issue was. They were not ready to help at all and wasted 1 week in troubleshooting some irrelevant redundant steps.

        Finally when they realised that the battery was faulty (which I had already reported a week ago), they rudely asked me to buy a new battery from outside, despite the fact that I paid extra for a 3years next business day warranty. I was promised an engineer the very next day I report any issue and was told that the warranty will cover everything till 3 yrs.

        Dell's after sales support is the most pathetic support I have ever come across. Dell's sales rep push customers to pay more for warranty and earn incentives. On the other hand, when you contact Dell's tech support, the technician's run away from their responsibilities and bring in new clauses of warranty to save warranty costs and earn incentives. I guess, this is the award winning Dell business model that Dell boasts off.

        I would not recommend anyone to buy Dell ever again.
        I received a Dell Inspiron 1525 as a gift. The hard drive began to have major trouble with freezing up at startup and Dell technical support were very unhelpful. I spoke to them over a MONTH and finally they told me to reinstall Vista OS. I lost all my files so I bought a backup. The Dell Inspiron has trouble copying CDs in the drive. The closer I got to the warranty running out the more technical support refused to help me, engaged me in such long problem solving trouble shooting that had nothing to do with the problem at hand. And finally stone walled me until the warranty ran out. My harddrive is now toast and I have to purchase a new one myself. I was told by my IT guy never to buy Toshiba harddrives which are very cheap and poorly made, tend to fail, and are sold by guess who, Dell, in all their laptops that year in Inspirons. As the complaints above testify, the customer service are only trained to run through their laborious drills that never really answer nor solve the problem. It was obvious to me after several calls, including one where in India it was getting late so he told me he didn't want to deal with me anymore, that they do not want to replace anything that breaks, they will just stone wall you until your warranty runs out with lame excuses about installing bad software
        or viruses when clearly the problem was hardware and I had an independent IT guy verify that for me after spending cash out of pocket for his hourly rate. Thanks a lot for nothing Dell.
        My inspiron laptop battery is low then without battery into direct current also working in my lap

          Have purchased Dell Inspiron 1525 by the month of February, for the past three months i'm experiencing the start-up hanging problem even after i formatted my system, don know what to do? Customer care is giving an useless options to troubleshoot the system...

            I had horrible/worst experience with Dell Customer service Center. I purchased DELL INSPIRON 1420 from one of the LAPTOP Showroom.I checked at that time also about Internationa Transfer.
            They said clearly and shown some Brochers also saying that you will get the Internation Warranty and all. I came to USA in Last DEC'08 and i Tried to Transfer my account from Jan'09 onward.
            But it was not happen still today. They are saying that My Original Name is matching as per their Records.I given all the details of INVOICE NUMBER, INVOICE DATE, SHOWROOM NAME/ADDRESS/SHOWROOM PHONE NUMBER/TIN NUMBER ALL...I told to them if you want i can send the INOVICE COPY (SCAN) also...How fun it is, I am the Owner and i paid the money from my pocket. They are saying that its not matching their Record..Its not my problem if they are not updated their records properly.
            Last couple months i am sending all these Above details but still TODAY i Got the Mail from them DELL as Below see

                - Got 7-10 delivery commitment (both verbal and written)
                - Was told XPS is premium machine with no chances of delay in delivery.
                - After waiting for 14 days I expressed my concerns again regarding delay in mail and told them they will have to compensate me for the delay.
                - - I call the customer care, am told to send mail to
                '[protected]@dell.com and not '[protected]@dell.com'.
                - 21 days since my order and I got neither the laptop nor any reply
                - finally after 22 days I got reply from salesman that he's looking into issue and assured that he'll get back to me with an update.
                - got laptop's delivery finally in 23 days
                - First reply from customer care for my five mails that there's no compensation policy.

                My issues:-

                1. First and the biggest, a courtesy reply is the least a customer can expect from a company like Dell.
                2. The customer care email id
                [protected]@dell.com was given to me by the Sales person in his order confirmation email. If they are providing customers wrong email address for contacting you, then
                its not customer's fault right??
                3. Since Sales person was in cc in all the mails, why he did not bother to tell me the correct email address?? He did not even bother to reply me either (not even once).
                4. If Dell really do not have any compensation policy then why the sales person or even his manager didn't let me know this??
                Why was I kept in dark for a full fortnight with nobody caring enough to even send me any reply ??
                Does Dell employees do not know their company policies or what??
                5. Analysis of Dell's Illogical policy on no compensation for delay in delivery.

                Such arbitrary and one sided conditions put by Dell on its website and not brought to the notice of customer at the time of placement of order are not tenable and are illegal. This brings bad name to Dell, which please note.

                6. When contacted over phone, the sales person told me to contact customer care for compensation while customer care executive told me that sales person is the nodal point for the resolution of this issue. What is the customer actually expected to do?
                7. Sales person is least bothered to reply to my 4 mails even after committing in his mail that he'll be getting back to me with an update. This is really very shameful.
                8. I was committed of 7-10 days delivery, while I got it in 23 days. That means even more than double the duration expected.

                I'll like to mention here that I chose Dell over Apple just because I believed in Dell's commitment to its customers but its Dell who has make me think otherwise. I deeply regret my decision to choose DELL.

                I've been waiting a month now for my laptop. Five e-mails and five phone calls have brought one lie after another from DELL. Each person has a different story and they all promise you will have it tomorrow - just wait one more day. That's mainly to get you off the phone. They lie about when they can deliver the laptop and then continue to make up lies about why it hasn't been shipped. When you call sales and say you've heard there is a delay, they lie to you and say, "no delays at all. There use to be but now you will get it in two weeks. The people that already ordered theirs agreed to a delay, so I will make sure your's is in line in front of those." How can they do false advertising when they know there is a delay and then lie about what they will do. DELL is a HORRIBLE company - they are treating their customers unfairly !!
                If you are not satisfied with the product or with anything from dell . You have a right to return the dell product back.
                Dell has a return/refund policy in which it refunds the whole amount i[censored] return the product in 30 days after receiving it in the same packing in which it came.
                You can even return the product after 30 days however dell might deduct some amount after 30days .

                    I purchased Studio 14 ( Tag- 5LNT2BS) on 9th Jan-09 and received it on 23rd of jan-09.

                    After a day or two, I found the speaker casing is open from one side, it can be fixed by pressing it tightly, But opens every other day.

                    The plastic chassis which holds the screen is very loose and opens up from the top (Near the camera)

                    Due to this there are Keyboard markings over screen and strong lines and markings all around keyboard, on Speakers and near touchpad. Situation exacerbated along with time, it started to intensify. They cannot be cleaned or wiped off.
                    If not taken care now will lead to screen damage and lines all around keyboard. I will also like to tell you that I never overstuff my bag and have separate bag for laptop.

                    This strongly indicates defective build of this laptop. I mailed customer service, I was asked to contact technical people, Then I mailed technical support( case no[protected], Didnt got any reply other then computer generated. Finally I called Tech support on 14th of april ( Case no 2058058), I was told to send pictures of all markings and if possible these parts will be replaced.

                    I know its an engineering fault and replacing parts will not be the solution. As these marks will appear again in a week.I was directed to customer service and I asked them to replace unit but he denied .I even asked him that i am ready to pay for any higher model or ready to accept lower model (Inspiron), but no luck.

                    Now I have suffered a lot and want to end all of this.

                    I agree with Mr. Atul . I purchased Studio 14 in Feb 2009 and found that speaker hinge and screen chasis open.Due to lose hinges screen touches my keyboard and had key caps over screen.. Its horrifying, I never expected this from dell. When i call them now, they tell me that they cant help and i must have informed in next day of purchase. but what to do if i found it after using few days. Now i have only one option...to dump this 50, 000 .

                    Dell is bogus. I hate Dell and swear never to let my friends buy any dell product

                    I have studio 14 and its giving me hard time. I don't know why it is so fragile. and i also have scratches over LCD. I now keep a sheet of plastic to save my LCD .

The laptop cabinet is too weak. freaking sounds comes when you fold the notebook. and there is no hardware replacement for this.                     Dell-Studio laptop 14 — no delivery of product

                    i ordered for Dell Studio 14 laptop through an agent of dell. They promised me to deliver it into 10 working days according to company's policy. it is almost 21 days i have made payment to Dell and they are not delivering me the product saying that they have some part to be delivered from malaysia. same thing happened with my friend also. it seems as if they are earning interest out of customer's money.

                    i am suffering a great loss mentally as well as for my profession i needed it urgently. they must compensate for my loss and along with my laptop as soon as possible.

                    hello shruthi i too ordered for dell on the same day on which u ordered.but still i havent recieved my laptop, Yesterday i contacted my dell representative he told me that dell 14 is having engineering problem.there are certain bios issues and hitting issues with intel motherboard.So the testing is still going on.my rep gave me a temporary date on 10th october and also advised me to cancel this order and go for Dell studio 15 which is performing good in the market.So i am asking compensation on studio 15 laptop.So what i advise u is the same cancell this order immediately.i don think studio 14 will work fine even after these tests, So cancell the order and place an order for dell 15 otherwise they will give u a complete refund of money, so take the money i[censored] are very particular abt 14 inch lapi.BUY sony vaio cs36g series or u can try for HP also.Never never buy dell 14.I[censored] want some more clarrification email me.All the best
                    Guys, I have just ordered last week for the new model of Dell Studio 14 and as per the order tracking website i should be getting it in two weeks. Observed few days back that Dell has removed the order option for this model from their india website. As Ritwik has said, probably its got to do with the issues related to BIOS installation for the 64bit OS being provided with this model. Dell studio 14 is being provided with Vista 64bit by default(no option for 32 bit OS). On other hand default OS in studio15 is still Vista 32bit, which has no such problems. Didnt see any such problems in any reviews from Malaysia, where this model was released at first and still being sold out.
                    Hello, yes Prashanth u r right dell 14 is shipped with vista 64bit os but jus now i confirmed that the problem lies with DDR3 ram that they are offering.so its better not to wait for this dell 14 lapi.I have also used dell 15 laptops from past 3 months, as per my knowledge this model is not having any problem expcept some like blue screen problem, driver incompatibility etc.But we can live with these.I am planning to ask my dell rep to give me dell 15 with same config which i had for dell 14 with no extra cost.i will post more updates on this issue after the talks.Below is my dell 14 configaration which i ordered.

                    I called up Dell customer care today to check the order status of my Dell Studio 14 laptop(as per website should be delivered tomorrow) that I ordered two weeks back. Thats when they told that Dell has stopped manufacturing of Studio14 due to some issues. The only option they can provide right now is either provide a free upgrade to a Dell studio 15 or else cancel the order.

                    The entire part in all this that irritates me is they didn't have the minimum decency to atleast keep the customer informed of this. I came to know about this problem after calling them up that too after a 45 min call waiting. I really pity those customers who have been waiting more than a month for the delivery.

                    All those who have ordered for the new model of Dell studio 14, probably you would not be receiving this laptop model(as Ritwik said). Don't blindly believe me, call up ur customer care and confirm it.

                    I have cancelled my order because I do not want to deal with a company which has no moral ethics. The refund would take another 15-20 days to get in hand. After that probably i may go for a Sony vaio VGN-CS35GN/B which is of same spec and price as the Dell studio 14 I ordered.

                    I had exactly the same problem. I waited for a month till my road permit expired and then I decided to cancel the order. I was give the same excuse of part shortage in their factory in malaysia. I had to suffer a great deal because of this. I asked for a refund with interest for the time my money was with them. They assured me of a refund but no interest and I am yet to receive the money. I think DELL should be sued for this. And they must compensate people who have had to wait so long to get a laptop when these people just can easily march into a retail shop and get one without having to go through the pain. So guy buying from DELL is not recommended at all.

There are lots of customers who have been through the same trauma. I have to wait another 2-3 weeks now to get my refund. I seriously do not recommend buying a laptop from Dell.

                    hello guys, i donno know frm where i should start telling my dell studio 14 story.my story may look like a twister ride for u guys.ok First i want to tell u guys i got my dell studio 14 delivered yesterday.Laptop is simply awesome.i tested it completely by installing all kinds of softwares and tools games etc its working absolutely fine no probs.
                    Actually few days ago i cancelled my dell 14 order and completely shut my door for dell.But i was calling again and again for dell cc and i was asking back my payment.on 5th oct i called them suddenly for my surprise they gave me one option, that is they told that my lapi is ready for shipment and if i want i can take it now.With great risk i took this lapi yesterday.
                    I tell u guys this Dell 14 is just awesome.its compact, powerfull and most advanced with DDR3 ram.so finally what i tell u guys is jus wait for another 2 days u will receive ur dream lapi.All the best.
                    Got my Studio 14 laptop 2 days back. I would say its really superb in terms of looks and performance. Worth the wait i would say.

                    I have suggested and my friend had given order for studio 14'. He had received within 6 days , Defective notebook, plugged in , not charging
                    Dell India has become like gray market
                    Once you buy , they are not responsible for anything
                    It seems wipro is doing service , blaming each other
                    As there is an option for refund within 30 days of purchase , opted for the same on the next day after received defect product , after confiming repair will not be there for a week
                    Already 23 days , not even picked up , not able to conatct the right person
                    Whenever make a call to Dell customer care , they keep on transferring call,each one will say , "I am not the right person for refund , I will transfer .....
                    Still going on.....

                    Once you buy Dell online , you should be prepare enough for going to consumer court too.

                    i had the same problem.. my laptop lid used to bend when openeing now it has actually broke out of normal everyday usage, im scared to open the laptop because thers too much of preasure on the cracked zone and its developing. this is completely a manufacturing defect as the construction of the lid is so flimsy you can just turn and bend the front panel that covers the lid, my speaker part has also come off. i have to press it now and then

                    my laptop is still under emi 9 months and i have to face this, i called dell and after a long conversation. they said my warranty dosent cover these defects and charged 350 to upgrade my warranty.

                    would have been better with acer, my friends acer construction is far more superior to dell would never buy dell again in my life and would never recommend this brand again in my life.

                    in dec 2009 i hav purchased a dell studio 1450 model at a cost of 50000 rupees it start troubling be with in first week ok my purchase .and after 15 day in jan 2010 my laptop was unable to work then an enginner from dell come to me and try to fix it and he fails after that dell gave approval for the replacement of my laptop .they said that replacement process is of only 21 days but it took 2 months for my laptop to be replaced .now when ihav my new laptop im the month of march 2010 its optical drive fails within first week .....now they have replaced my optical drive .but the optical disk of win 7 OS which was provided by dell didt work im completly dissatisfied whit the product and service of dell provided to me.i have to face lot of proffesional loss and im mentaly tensed by all this ........i have to call dell on every 2 or 3 day for any issue

                    I OWN A DELL STUDIO 15 (MODEL: STUDIO1558). ORDERED IT ON 19TH MAY AND GOT IT DELIVERED ON 26TH MAY IN NEW DELHI. EXTREMELY FAST DELIVERY AND ON TOP OF IT THE PACKAGE IS SO WELL WRAPPED THAT NOTHING CAN DAMAGE THE PACKING. THE LAPTOP IS WORKING EXCELLENT TILL DATE. I HAVE FACED NO ISSUES TILL NOW. EXCEPT THAT JUST OUT OF INQUISITIVENESS AND TO CHECK OUT THEIR AFTER SALES SERVICE. SO JUST LIKE THAT I COMPLAINED ABOUT THE CHARGING ADAPTER GETTING HEATED UP AND THE DELL BLUETOOTH HEADSET (BH200) WHICH WAS GIVEN TO ME FREE OF COST ISN'T WORKING PROPERLY. THOUGH IT WAS WORKING PERFECTLY FINE. AND TO MY SURPRISE THEY TOOK UP THE COMPLAINT AND YOU WON'T BELIEVE IN NEXT TWO HOURS I GOT A CALL FROM SOME DELL DEALER SAYING THAT SIR YOU HAD SOME PROBLEM WITH YOUR ADAPTER AND BLUETOOTH HEADSET IN SOME TIME I'M SENDING A PERSON WITH THE NEW HEADSET AND ADAPTER. AND YES, WELL WITHIN 2 HOURS I GOT THE NEW PARTS IN MY HAND. DELL SERVICE IS SO VERY GOOD!! I WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO EVRYBODY!!! I DON'T KNOW HOW COME OTHERS ARE FACING SERVICE RELATED ISSUES WITH DELL.

                      myself gaurav verma.i purchased a new laptop of Dell company model no Inspiron 1525 in the month of Feb'09 end. it came through courier at my address.it has got one year warranty.after receiving the laptop, i found that its inbuilt webcam has not that much clarity as it is in my friends laptop of same model.also i found that i could not place my camera MS Pro memory card in the slot provided in it. Moreover the TV connector slot provided is also not matching with the one i m having.All these things made me to call the Dell customer care so that they can send some representive to chk all these things. after contacting three times, my complaint went in vain. the latest one i called on 17/04/09. i spoke to Mr.Rohit Robert who i think sits at bangalore centre. after discussing the issue with him, he told tht i should have my laptop with me while talking to thm so tht they can tell me over phone to resolve the matter.he also told me tht their office remains open only from monday to friday from 9;00 am to 6:00 pm which clashes with my office timings. i told as these r the timings of my office also, so its not possible to bring tha laptop at my office, so he should send somebody to chk these things physically. But despite me requesting several times, he showed his inability to send any person to my home. i want the Dell company to send the representative at my home as it becomes their duty to resolve the customer issue, moreover its under warranty also and direct that customer care executive Mr. Rohit Robert to say sorry to me.

                      Hi,

                      I have Dell Inspiron 9400 E1705, Service Tag DMC71D1. I bought this laptop on my visit to US. The heat sink of the processor does not function anymore and am unable to use my laptop. I have made several calls to customer care but they don't have a centralized procedure to resolve the issue. Every department is separate and they keep transferring the call. The laptop is not covered under warranty and am ready to pay the service charges along with that of parts.

                      Is there a way I can get Dell to help me or should I seek a third party vendor who will be more than happy to resolve my issue in no time without any hassle? This is the fourth laptop I've bought from Dell; looking at the customer service, I am planning to switch brands now.

                        Hi,

                        This is Ravikiran. I am using Dell XPS 1330 Laptop. Recently I got a Problem with My Battery, It's not given proper backup. I contacted dell and they sent a new battery. That new battery was good and giving good battery backup, but Laptop getting overheating. I checked with Another Friend’s battery and Adapter that it's working fine, without battery also working fine. So I contacted to dell and logged a compliant for another battery on 30/3/2009. Compliant No: 2027720.The representative (ARUN) said that, we are ready to replace the battery, but we can’t give assurance on the battery backup. Sometimes there may be compatibility issues with mother board. Hence forth we will send you the mother board and cooling fan first. If still the problem was not solved we will give you the new battery. I have clearly told him that my warranty will expire on 31/03/2009. I have accepted for his words and he has sent the motherboard and cooling fan and it was replaced by your service personal. Still I am facing the same problem that the laptop is getting overheating. Service personal also find the problem with battery and he said, OK sir I will contact to Technical Support and we will replace the battery. But till date I have not received the battery or any update from dell. After One Week again I contacted to dell TS (Ahmad). They are saying that Your Warranty Expired. But the complaint was logged on[protected]. On the day when I logged the complaint my laptop was under warranty. And the call was not closed. How people could say that the warranty is expired. But they are not accepting and they are simply saying this problem is not coved under warranty because it’s not functional failure. I was surprised to hear that, why they are saying that word. I don’t know what is functional failure is. Do you mean to say only backup of the battery goes wrong called functional failure. When I complained about overheating, why TS person has suggest me to for changing of motherboard and cooling fan. He might have been sent the new battery on that day itself. If he sent the new battery it was covering under warranty. Hence forth you are requested to replace the battery and rectify my overheating problem at free of cost. I will not pay single rupee since because the complaint was logged on 30/03/09 and on that day when I logged the complaint my laptop was under warranty. It is not the fault of mine, Dell service people have misguided me to accept for replacement of mother board and cooling fan.

                        Please let me know further action from my end.

                        DELL NOTEBOOK/XPS M1330 — NOT REPLACING BATTERY

                        I had purchased note book from Dell India Pvt Ltd my bill no # BG133560 DATED O7/02/08 .Company had given me 3 years complete cover, accidental damage protection, & three years premier service with 3 years complete cover.In this cover it was told to me that battery is also protected for 3 years.call center persion was denying for replacement. Company's technician was telling me from last two months back company had changed the replacement policy now they are giving only one year gaurantee.When i purchased this note book sales persion assured me for full cover as bill is showing.My note book TAG NO is # FKS4T1S .
                        kindly do the need full & give me protection for my rights.

                        I have a Inspiron 1420 and dell people are denying to change the battery. Currently warranty period is going on. When I on my laptop it says battery is reaching the end of its usable life. But, Dell's response is that such they will not replace it.

                          You need to change "Sata Operation" settings from byos settings then you will be able to install XP.
                          yeah u can install XP on 1545, just chant the Sata operation to ATA in BIOS and you would be able to install Xp

                          Dear Friends thanks a lot for your suggestion as it really helped me in installing Windows XP operating system on my Dell Inspiron 1545. ( For my notebook : It only worked with the latest Windows XP Service Pack 3 version and not with the Windows XP Service Pack 2 Version.) Thank you once again for saving my time.
                          I tried to install Windows XP in Dell Inspiron 1545t. The two SATA modes it had are ATA and AHCI.
                          Initially in the agreement, when pressed F8 it din't go to next page. I tried 2 more discs of XP. Finally went for a slipstreamed version.
                          The agreement was skipped as it was a slip streamed. But no disk drive could be found error is shown. Lateron when tried again it went to format process and got installed.

                          But few errors exist. I want to install XP properly in it. I was unable to load the SATA driver using my USB drive. It asks only for a floppy disk. Help me out.

                          In order to INSTALL Windows XP it on 1545 do the following:
                          Delete all the partitions except the one used by DELL boot - I did this from Linux with fdisk /dev/sda; works also from Windows installer.

                          Integrate the Intel GM45 chipset drivers (ALL directory in the drivers package) AND SATA drivers (32 bits version) into the Windows XP SP3 distribution - I integrated the drivers using TXT option and not PNP for SATA drivers. This way your disc will be seen at boot time and will successfuly install the XP.

                          The links for the drivers are from the dell website, 1545 drivers download page, Chipset /Intel Driver and SATA drivers/Intel Driver links.

                          I kept the ACHI SATA option from the BIOS and didn't changed it to ATA.

                            This is absolutely pathetic on dell's part that they are supplying spurious or down-graded batteries with Inspiron 1525 series Laptops. I'm also facing the same problem.

                            With in a year of purchase, the battery is gone completely and doesnt charge any more. Dell is also not giving the replacement as they say battery is not covered in warranty.

                            My five year old HP laptop is still giving 45 mins backup and hardly a year old Dell Inspiron 1525 battery is exhausted. Mind you this only happens in the last month of warranty expiry. Its same in ur case as well as same in my case too. That is conclusive of that they are supplying down-graded batteries with laptops purposely, deliberately wh8ich is by no means a fair practice to treat customers

                            DELL — XPS m1530 battery malfunction

                            I had bought DELL XPS 1530 on 11/05/09 with a 1 yr. warranty from a Dell retail outlet. Now on the 26/04/09 the battery malfunctioned and now fails to charge beyond 33%.I called up DELL on 28th and their immediate reaction was that my warranty has already expired on 13/03/09. I tried to make them understand that a laptop bought in MAY cannot have its warranty expired in MARCH but to no heed.Then i emailed them a copy of my bill. Realizing the loophole in their argument now the Dell person told me that i had overused my battery and that they would not replace the battery, under any circumstances. I tried talking to a higher up technical person but he also went ahead with the same excuse. I do not understand how a battery with average life of 3yr. go down in 10 months, if its not faulty. How do Dell people know that i have overused the battery without even inspecting my laptop? They are not budging from their farce excuses and have already forwarded me a quotation to buy a new battery. This is a serious case of cheating and fraud that i have been subjected to from DELL

                            This same problem I am facing that my DELL Inspiron 1525 Battery is not charging and it is showing 7% not more than that. I purchased this laptop on 4 April 08'. Now it is not in warranty and I have to purchase new battery.

                            I am also facing same problem. When I contacted Dell they told me to installed updated battery software. Even then problem continued. Then there was message at the start up of the laptop that your battery bay now working properly. Then techinical support of Dell told me to replace the battery. So I have paid them in advane in the last month wherein they promised me to deliver the battery within four working days, contacted them number of times, morre than four working weeks elapsed & yesterdy they told me that battery is not available. So now they are refunding me.

It was absolutely fine until then. So suddenly it happened that I was shocked. I tried all the alternative to revive it, based on the findings on the internet, but failed.

                            I even neglected other's comments on dell and went on to purchase it and now the battery is gone just the month next to the warranty expiry date. I now understand that Dell is the worst company present that employs a worst business strategy to give laptops for a cheap price with cheap components. Why to cheat the innocent customers?

                            I am also facing the same problem with Dell Inspiron 1525. I purchased my Dell Inspiron 1525 in April 2008. It was 6 cell battery. It worked for one year when it was in warrenty and later exhausted. Dell has a very good business strategy to provide bad battery, which will exhaust completing warrenty and then you have no other option except purchase new one. And more pathetic part is that.. battery price is 1/4th of laptop. Next four year I would be purchasing a battery every year. Which would cost me price of a laptop. Seriously we should file a complaint against dell. Or We should use our laptop as desktop, always on AC power. :-)

                            I have the same problem with my 1525 Inspiron Laptop that is just out of warranty. But I have read on other forums that the problem can be due to another fault, not just a dead battery.

                            There is a circuit on the motherboard that controls the battery charging, The solder on the circuit can break apparently, so even if you go to the expense of buying a new battery you still might have the same problem.

                            So before spending lots of money on a new battery, see if you can borrow a battery, to see if it will charge.
                            Hi, am also facing the same problem, my inspiron 1525 battery is not charging properly. its charging for a 5 seconds then not for another 20 seconds and then starts charging for 5 sec, the interval is dynamic.i bought it in feb. 2008.

                            Respected Sir,
                            This is to inform you that i've bought an inspiron-1525 dell Laptop( service tag no.- HD1T2BS) 5 months back. Unfortunately my laptop was not working. Then i registered a complaint on dated 8th July, 2009.

                            The Dell representative assured me that the problem will be solved within 24 to 48 hours.
                            Technician reached my place on 13th July, 2009. But he was not able to solve the problem. Again he came on 22nd July but he couldn't repair it. He then promised me that he will certainly come on Monday, July 27, to finally repair it but it is very dissapointing that the responsible person has yet not come. Above all, in this period of time, i'as regularly in contact with representative of your company but they ensured me with fake promises.
                            Being a Computer Science Engineering student it becomes very important for me to work on my laptop and due to above reason i cannot complete my pending work. I really feel sorry to inform you that dell gives guarantee to solve problem in a day or two but it has been over 22 days and my problem has not been yet solved. Not only me, but everyone knows about the reputation of dell but this is certainly against the credibility of your company.
                            I request you to look in my matter soon.

                            Have you noticed in all above complaints that all most of the laptops were purchase during the month of march/april, 2008. Faulty battery complaints on other websites also indicated the same months of purchase. I think this lot of dell batteries was faulty. I have also purchased during last week of march 2008.                             I have a similar problem with the XPS 1530 that I bought in January of 2008. Within a year the battery life started going down. Now, 18 months later, I cannot use the computer without being near a plug. It really feels like this is a case where the battery is made to die right after the warranty runs out so they can collect another $200 from you. I am so frustrated with it!                             sir the warranty date of the laptop in the document send by company is 4.9.09 but on the company website it is 3.9.09. i made complain regarding webcam on 4.9.09 so company now not ready to replace the webcam or troubleshoot the same by saying your warranty date lapsed.

                            I purchased my Dell Inspiron 1525 in December 2008 and by April the battery wouldn't charge. It only lasted 4 months! I have been running it on mains ever since because apparently the battery isn't in the warranty which is stupid.
                            It used to say 0% charge but I just checked 5 minuted ago at it said 15% charge, but when I unpluged it afterwards it turned off straight away, as usual, because of no battery so it actually doesn't have any charge. It says: "Plugged in, not charging". Like many other people I think this is really pathetic of Dell as they make £millions anyway but still feel that they have to cheat their customers.
                            I also have XPS 1530 and same battery issue. The battery's charge dropped all of a sudden one day and now it refuses to charge beyond 15%. The battery has definitely malfunctioned as a day earlier it gave backup of 90 mins and then reduced to 10 mins a day after. And this came up after a month from warranty expiration. Now am totally helpless, as I have no choice but to buy a new one from dell. :( :(
                            I purchased the Del 1526 laptop and of course the warranty expired 4/09.                             Well...I dont have exactly same...with respect to battery...Whenever i connect my charger with lappy...it doesnt charge the battery and instead goes on AC mode...even when the charger seated properly and charging the laptop...If we just switch off the mains power supply and turn it back on...Still the lappy goes directly to the AC mode...so any chances of physical damage is ruled out...But the dell people they maintain it is a physical damage even without examining the laptop just over phone...Did we buy laptop to get such pathetic reply from a rude customer support executive?????Atleast all people from india must gather togather to file a combined suite against dell people in the consumer court...if any1 willing may contact me on shaikh.[protected]@gmail.com...
                            Well my problem aint exactly similar but den itz related to the battery...Whenever i connect my charger to the lappy...instead of charging the batter it goes to the AC mode even if the battery is empty...And after number of attempts it starts charging battery...Even when the laptop charger pin is properly connected and the laptop charging the battery properly...if we turn the mains power on and off...stilll laptop goes to AC mode...So this rules out the possibility of physical damage to the laptop pin or charger...But the dell people they maintain itz a physical damage even without examining the laptop just over phone...Dis is pure cheating...They must atleast examine the laptop for internal damage before concluding anything...Moreover they say...there's a charging port soldered on the motherboard which is damaged...And if i wanna get it corrected i need to replace entire motherboard...do they think people are fools???A charging port would cost me few hundred rupees...For which they want me 2 replace entire motherboard...i guess atleast people from respective countries should get togather and file a complaint in the consumer cout aginst dell...Anyone from India if interested may contact me at shaikh.[protected]@gmail.com

                            My laptop is Inspiron 6400 and i bought it in Feb-2007. I used to feel proud about my battery coz it used to give me around 4 hrs of back up. But, 2 months back, all of a sudden the battery drained out to zero power and now it's not charging at all now. When I plug in, initially it flashes for few seconds as if it's charging. But, then it stops and shows " 0% available, plugged in, charging". But, never charges. So, I can only work with AC power now. Warranty is over too.

                            We are four friends .We have purchased dell inspiron 1525 at the same time . and now it has been over 9 months and after 9 months we are facing so much problem in this dell laptop. After some time the laptop switch of automatically . Let me tell me one thing is it a heater or a laptop & also i want to mention the some other qualities in your system ---


                            1) Fabulous battery backup of only 30 to 40 min.
                            2) High sound quality (even a tone of base model nokia mobile can dump it )
                            3) last as Dell is ever known for the best and immediate service........so lets see what you gonna do.

                            I also purchased my Inspiron 1525 laptop in March 2008 and the warranty ran out in March 2009. Just recently I have been having the problem of the battery not charging. It seems the laptop is not recognizing the AC adapter, but the AC adapter's green light is on. Does anyone have a solution to this?
                            OMG, I thought I was one of few having this problem. And I don't think its coincidence that I got my Dell Inspiron 1525 in April '08 also. Dell should be ashamed. I am a college freshman and so far since before school even started I have always had to keep a charger nearby if I wanted to use my laptop. Now it doesn't even last 20 min before dying. It's so annoying, especially when trying to write a 10 page paper and the computer goes dead every 15-20 min. I've been having battery problems for about 7 months. I complained to Dell when it first started, they sent me a new charger. That fixed the problem for about 1-2 months. Now I can't use my computer unless I'm sitting next to a wall with an outlet, and in a class of at least 40 students, that's pretty hard to achieve.

                            Dell, people do not care customers after warranty vanishes, it just started giving problems after 1yr. 3 months of purchase.

                            I too have a Dell inspiron 1525 and have charging problems, even with a Brand New battery!. I have read multiple complaints on different web sites about this. It is obviously a huge issue and a costly one to the consumer. I really think Dell should recall all these laptops and fix them at no cost to the consumer. I have heard three things. 1) it is a charger issue (I have 2 chargers and don't think both are faulty) 2) It is the motherboard connection site and the fault of the consumer (hogwash as SOOOOO many consumers have this same issue. 3) people should update the BIOS, (I have done this to no avail) Dell own up and recall these or you won't have too many former Dell clients buying anything Dell in the future!
                            All of sudden the problem of battery not getting charging after 46% and the very next day the status of not charging more than 9%, now 5%. Why it is happening like that? DELL has to answer to the problem. What is the guarenty that new battery will not behave the same way?

                            I totally agree with u . I really think the april - 2008 stock of dell laptops are faulty. Even i have purchase dell inspiron 1525 in april - 2008. My motherboard was changed thrice, processor was changed twice, hard disk was changed once, ram was change, keyboard was changed.

                            Now iam facing the battery problem . its not getting charged . i would also like to mention that my laptop usage is very less, still i am facing the battery problem.

                            I really think dell is cheating on its customers. even the replacements are not new, its refurbished.

                            I have a dell latitude D630 and have the same problem with battery. It goes dead on you exactly after one year! Is dell programming/manufacturing the batteries to go dead after one year? It is so pathetic, one day it is giving you 3 hours of backup and the next day it suddenly comes down to 20 minutes of backup. I have changed the 6 cell battery with a nine cell, and it also went dead after 6 months. I have now again got a 6 cell battery from original dell supplier and they are willing to give only three months warranty. They delivered one two weeks ago and it died yesterday, so now they have given me a replacement (it was under three months warranty). But now they say that the replacement unit is not under any warranty. SO if this one goes dead, i'll have to pay for a new battery. I'll instead throw the laptop away :-(. YOu at dell, wake up!
                            The bad stock of April 2008 assumption does not seem right to me. I live in Pakistan and unlike you guys I have a latitude d630, not the inspiron model, but still have the same battery problem like you guys are facing. Infact there are 23 people in my office using the same model (Latitude D630). The office bought these laptops for us in November 2007. Disappointingly all the 23 laptop users have changed their batteries at least twice because of this battery going dead after a year problem:-(.

                            I have a dell inspiron 1525 too. I have a plugged in not charging messge when i hover over the battery symbol. I have lots of homework which needs to be printed and as I currently have 0% charge i cannot print that off. I have bought a new charger, that does not make a difference, i have bought a new battery (out of own money as not in warranty anymore) that does not work. I have had this laptop about 18 months and as my previous one was bad too I though this would last. I don't think I am going to ever buy a laptop from dell. I may aswell buy a PC that costs more and lasts longer. If you have any ideas what I could do that would be very helpfull :)

                            same problem faced by me. Dell 1555 battery was not charging. i complained within the warranty period and got one replaced but just after end of warranty period the replaced battery also stopped charging . . .

                            For replacing the second battery they asked to renew warranty which costs about 7000 bucks. Interestingly lenovo gives 3 years warranty period on start while dell gives only 1 year . on top of that Dell products are seemingly designed to fail after warranty period i.e.after 1 year from buying. so, you have no option but you have to extend the warranty or you will be screwed by continuously replacing the battery, charger and so on. So, overall you end up paying 15, 000 more than a Lenovo or any competing brand for that matter.

                            so only one conclusion comes out . . . Dell is a sick company with a sick, cheating mindset

                            i bought dell inspiron 1545, the battery is giving backup of only 30 min., the battery is facing this problem exactly after the warranty period, I even purchased their warranty extension for 1 year for 5K, and they are also not replacing the battery. this is pathetic . cheated by dell 2 times .

                            On dec I bought a Dell Inspiron Desktop 300(Zino) from a dealer and from april onwards it started showing trouble
                            and afer the 1st hard disk replacement i was asked take3 year warrenty and i did so . from april to july 4nos hard disk was replaced and fifth hard disk also failed and
                            dell agreed to replace system case no 4174534 and on 30th july i got a mail from [protected]@dellteam.com asking me send some documents required for replacement
                            and the very next day i sent soft copies to her and couried the hard copy also.
                            After repeated calls they sent warehouse man to collect the defective computer from me on aug 29.and after that there is no responce from dell and i keep calling every day and
                            i am not able get a reply or status of my complaint.i keep calling and waste my time 45mts to 1 hr daily.
                            from jan to june i have bought a dell server/ a dell all in one and one dell laptop but now with one zino issue i have lost confdence in dell support and never in my life i will buy or recomend dell.

                              I have had horrible experience with Dell. Within 40 days of purchase the machine stopped functioning. When I called the customer service guys they sent an engineer who could not figure out the problem and the technical team in banglore advised him a hit and trial method of changing one part at a time - they opened my new laptop and tried changing, RAM, mother board, etc. When i asked for a replaced after 15-20 calls one of the techincal guys said they will replace it as a special case and I would hear from them in 3-4 days. But then again I get a call from the engineer that he wants to replaced mother board and check - I told him that I have been promised a replacement which we was not aware of. I called back Dell and they said they had no details of the replacement promised recorded. They would not replace - after several emails and angry exchanges they replaced the base without the battery and hard disk etc.

                              7-8 months later the 9 cell battery which I had bought did not give me the backup I'd expect. I called them up and they did a check on the phone and again said they would dispatch a new battery in 2-3 days. I thought they had improved. But again no one gets back to me in 3-4 days when I call back they say replacement has been canceled - they cannot replace. Their customer service and techincal team is not at all consistent.

                              I WOULD NEVER BUY DELL AGAIN In INDIA, .

                              My experience of buying a DELL Machine has been as FRUSTRATING as it can get. The customer Service in India SUCKS !!! There is no consistency in information at all.

                              After all the initial trouble I had with my laptop within a month of purchase that you are aware of - the engineers changing one part at a time to check if the system works. It was down for over a month before the entire base was replaced leaving the battery, HD, etc.

                              Now, I have a 9 cell battery - the machine is about 8 months old - I especially paid for a 9 cell battery so that I can get a good back up at the time of sales I was promised it will give me about 6 hours back up and it did so in the first 1-2 months. Within 8 months the back up has reduced to 1 hour. I have done all checks that the Dell technical team asked me to. I have been using the system with utmost care, nor do i run any heavy softwares.

                              I called up the Dell technical team was went through the entire process of checks - the representative who logged my call told me that the battery would be replaced and gave me a complaint no too. After 2-4 days I did not get any update about the battery delivery - I called up Dell again and this time I was told that the replacement was canceled as batteries are not replaced. Further the guy was trying to say it was ok to get 1 hour back up with a 9 cell battery. I have seen multiple cases of batteries that have been faulty in my college in MICA and they have been replaced by Dell.

                              Why does Dell service not have consistency - first some one promises a battery change and then some one else says it did not get approved - why do you promise things before they are approved and then - you dont even call the customer and tell him that it was cancelled unless he calls you back.

                              I am tired of the way Dell has been treating me - Its one bad experience after another. Had the battery been replaced as it had been promised - I would have thought the earlier case was a one off - but it seems this is they way you guys deal with customers.

                              I am putting this entire letter on mouthshut.com plus blogs & will ensure that customers get to know about Dell's pathetic services.

                              My problem in dell insperion 1525 is, i had install linux in 40 g b hdd & then i had to remove linux i had install vista in 90gb hdd but i can't see my 60gb hdd in vista.. there is no linux present yet..

                              Dell Inspiron 1525 Laptop — No technical Support

                              On 7th July I sent a complaint to Dell India Pvt Ltd. about the operational failure of my LAN port of my Inspiron1525 Laptop.They sent me a case no. and assured me that a technician would visit my place to solve my problem via e-mail;but no one came till now.
                              Though my Laptop is in the warranty period but still the company is not taking any serious -quick steps.

                              WHAT TO DO NOW ?

                              DELL Inspiron Desktop — System died after 14 days of purchase

                              Hi,

                              I've bought a Dell Inspiron System on 19th June 2009 and got the delivery on 23rd June and their engineer has come to setup the system on next day i.e.24th June 2009.
                              The system was working absolutely fine till 9th July which is hardly 15days time. It went off at 7.30pm on 9th July, so we were not able to call the customer care as their working hours are 9am - 6pm IST.
                              However, we have logged the case on 10th July 2009 around 10.30am after a long hold time.
                              We got a promise from the call logger that the engineer will come on Monday i.e.13th July, 2009. However I didn't receive any calls or update from DELL stating about the service engineer. So when I called the support line they stated that the case is not been actioned / dispatched. The reason was not mentioned on the same, I spoke to the supervisor (Kamal Maggo) and he mentioned that the service will be provided on the next day i.e. 14th July, 2009 and he has mentioned in the email he has sent.
                              However I got a call from Kamal stating that the part is not available and the service will be delayed by another couple of days and then later on the same day evening he sent me an email mentioning the services will happen only on 30th July, 2009 which is Insane; not acceptable at all.
                              Then I've written email to many of DELL top guys and then the issue got escalated and now they are saying that the part is not available worldwide (which I dont accept). As soon as I said I need replacement or refund of the system DELL has accepted it without any hassel. Am surprised big time after looking at such behavior of DELL support; instead of giving solution you are ready to refund the money. And if I choose the option of system replacement then it will take 8-10 working days and so as the case if I choose Refund. So indirectly DELL is asking me to wait till 30th July; which I dont want to. I'm jobless and this system was my source of income as I was using this system for share trading to earn money.

                              I'm still waiting for the response from DELL representatives.
                              Please suggest what should be my next step.
                              Do I need to knock the doors of Consumer court? Should I ask for any compensation for this loss?

                              I am frustrated with their and support and helpless as the only option to contact Dell is their customer support number where a bunch o[censored]seless sit.
                              I bought Inspiron 1525 by paying Rs.42000/in Feb 08.From the day one I found that the battery was not retaining the charge and therefore I had to work on the AC connection insitu always. When I spoke to the customer service I was told that it will improve. Being new to Computers I accepted their advice.But the same problem continued.Unfortunately the Laptop sustained some damagea few months ago within the warranty period. But they refused to repair it till I paid Rs 16000/ and took an other warranty. Now after 6 months same battery problem contiued along the malfunctioning of the key board.The engineer who attended changed the battery adapter and the key board. To my and to his surprise the smae problem continued. So the Mother board was changed.It would not function and there was no LCd diplay!!.The Engineer contacted Dell Bangalore and hey said that they would be sending the processor this time. This also did not have any result. Today ie Oct 26th they have agreed to send LCD, corg and some other parts. I have suffering for the past 15 days without a laptop and this evening I get call from the Dell that it would take two more days to procure the parts and send. Such is the customer Care by DELL in India. I want to get the redressal from the Cosumer Forum.

                              My Inspiron 1525 has not been working properly since the last one and a half months and even after many calls and engineer's visit they system still is not working properly. Everytime the engineer comes the spoil one more part and go, it seems that they do not know anything about laptops and have come to repair them.

Hinges broke in 2 months, when I called Dell they said i have to pay approx 9000 for extending warranty for plastic parts. I had to pay.                               They they changed hard disk , mother board, CD Rom, I lost all data . their engineers will come as per their convenience and do not seems to have watch. Even once they came with screw driver and asked to supply one. Writing to Michael dell even does not help

                              DELL Inspiron 1525 — Not ready to repair in Warranty

                              I am having Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop in which i am facing network issues.
                              My wireless card is not working propoerly as there is some problem on singal receiptor which is weak.
                              I called customer care many times. Each time I call they tell to either format the OS or to check ur router and contact ur service provide. I consulted other technical people, they told its clear that there is some issues with wireless card and it need to be replaced as the same network is working fine in other laptops.

                              but there dell people simply say we cannot so anything......

                              I would recommend not going for a Dell. A HP or Lenovo is better value for money.

                              Day before yesterday I got an upgradation message (Service Pack 1) from microsoft for better functioning of window vista on my laptop. After I installed the service pack it asked me to restart my laptop. I gave command for it to restart but it never did ! Now, even in safe mode my laptop is not able to wake up ! When I ask for window to start normally it ask for some repair when you click OK it scan lots of files and in between get struck.

                              When I checked on google I found that lot many people are suffering from same problem. please look into the matter and do not send upgradation messages to customers unless they are user friendly and does not affect proper working of your computer.

                              I really don't know what to do ! There are some very important documents related to my work which I can not afford to loose at any cost.. Do let me know what to do ?

                              I too am very dis-satisfied with my Dell computer. It is a table top Inspiron & from the time I set it up I have had nothing but problems. I know I have called for support at least 20-30 times & I always get told they have to send me to Dell on call which is a paid support. I had an HP before this piece of junk & I wish I would have bought another one. They have nickel & dimed me to death & I still have a computer that doesn't work half the time & is forever getting viruses even with McAfee & mal-aware & spyware being ran every day. Recently the brand new Dell printer quit working, what a horrible experience with both software support as well as hardware support. I finally insisted on a new printer only to be sent a "refurbished" printer. I will tell everyone I come into contact with to never buy a Dell.                               Their database shows that my warranty has expired when I only recently purchased a warranty ! This leaves me with a non- functioning laptop and all because they havnt updated their database!
                              The managers are unsympathetic to my cause.

                              As per our experienced we don't recommend to purchase any DELL's product

                              As I am winding-up my Computer Relationship with DELL, I would like to point out some, painful experience I had with DELL.
                              The DELL Desktop, with OS Windows 7 home basic 64 bit, with 20" Flat Monitor, was delivered to me in January 2011 and problems started from the First day itself.
                              1. The Monitor Screen had a Flaw - A scratch and the Monitor was exchanged for a nother clean one, after the so called Agent at Pondicherry certfied that I am not a Lier.
                              2. On setting up the Computer, the most important programme, the Microsoft Office 2010 was found locked, with the alleged "Enclosed Key" missing in the package. Requested and begged for the Key in vain. Seeing my pitiable plight the agent at pondicherry, consoled me by providing a old time 'Starter Edition". From January 2011 to December 2012 I have not seen or used the installed Microsoft Word 2010. What was the necessity to Lock the Programme, when the Computer is being delivered by Courier in a sealed carton, direct to the buyer without a intermediary. It did not serve any purpose other than harassing the buyer
                              3. McAfee's security Centre - A sample alone given for 15 days and regularly pestering for buying it. What was the harm in giving full usage, when buyers have never bargained about the price of the computer before placing the order.
                              4. When some programmes failed to show up and when contacted the Customer care (The Dell agent in Pondicherry), he just dodged away saying something. To my luck I corrected the problem myself as it was a minor problem. Customer care became a Customer Don’t Care.
                              5. When a bigger problem cropped-up in early December 2012, the same Agent fixed up a date to fix my computer and never turned up for more than 10 days. As I am wasting money for the Internet at the rate of Rs. 25.00/day, I had no other choice except to engage a Non DELL Wizard to set right my computer. My saved items all gone before the computer was attended to by the Non DELL Wizard.
                              I was very sadly disappointed on seeing your mail dated 14th January 2013, about the De-activation of my account.
                              So, DELL is removing my account and all backed-up files. Instead of throwing away my Precious backed-up files into the Bin, why not as a Kind Gesture, send the backed-up files in a Disc, Of-course FOR A PRICE fixed by you. Iwll take the DELL relaton ship as a FREE TRAL FOR 2 YEARS
                              Finally, I want to inform you about few of my Friends’ advice before I ventured to buy a Dell desktop. Some said “DELL is DULL” and some said “DELL is HELL”.
                              I started living with the Computer from the year 2000. Never had any Problems

                                Dear Sir

                                I am writing this complaint with great regret. I bought the Inspiron 1525 laptop online. No engineer came to install it when it was supplied. The silver colour coating of the side panel of the key pad were worn out. It was so difficult to get through the customer care as most of the time it is coming busy. And even if one get them they starts transferring calls from one to other and put them on hold for infinite time. I have tried so many time but most of the time I failed. A technical service provider from dell told me that this particular problem is not coming under warranty. It is still under warranty period. It can be easily proved that the worn out of the colour is not due to the usage.

                                  I purchased a dell laptop 2 years ago. The model is XPS M1210. It has an NVIDIA GeForce 7400 graphics card inbuilt. From the day I purchased it, the graphics cards was a problem. It used to get heated up and the screen goes blank. After sometime it comes back with an message telling that, the graphics card crashed and windows has recovered it. As the windows recovered it, I assumed that it was a problem with windows and not the graphics card. But exactly after 2 years and 20 days, the graphics card completely crashed.

                                  I browsed the internet and found out that all the people who have purchased this particular model had a problem. It was a design issue. The heat from the processer affects the graphics cards, so it crashes. The only solution is to change the entire mother board. But that will cost Rs 20, 000.

                                  I had an warranty for 1 year and it expired on March 2008. Now I call them up and tell that, your design and spare parts are faulty. Its a fault on Dell's part so you much change me. They accept that its a design fault but still they will not change it unless I pay the full amount.

                                  A big company like Dell must sell quality products which are tested and passed via quality check. If by mistake, they have sold faulty parts, they must come forward and replace it with proper parts.

                                  I will not advice anybody to buy any Dell product. They are highly money minded and they dont care about the customers and the quality of the product.

                                  I purchase my laptop on dated 08/02/10... in my laptop there is some hardware problem... its dvd wrter not working properly ... it have opning problem.. its push buttn not working .... pl change my laptop as soon as possible...

CD&DVD writer, touch pad and adapter is not working properly from last 6 months...I have complained about these problems to company, by telephonic, But till i have not get any service.

                                    Dell has a pathetic way of handling their corporate clients. I had ordered and paid for 1 no Dell E 5400 laptop on 23rd of March with a commitment of assured billing by their sales manager that it will get billed by[protected].

                                    Sales manager all along had been confirming that the billing will take place and changed the order specifications saying that it is required to make sure that billing happens on or before 31-3.

                                    On 31-3, they inform that the billing cannot happen come what may.
                                    Office Home and Student 2010 was included with purchase of Dell on order #[protected], but we received a separate charge on Invoice #[protected] for $158.99. Why were we charged for this when it we understood it was included with purchase of $468.23?
