I'm using Dell studio XPS13 model note book pc. I'm having trouble in using the bluetooth adapter one touch switch on the keyboard. This touch sensor switch is not working properly. The second and major complaint is The system is getting too heated up sooner after turn on it. I couldn't hold it on my Lap for even 5 mins.
Absolutly agree on the heat.. Im pissed off. Paid very decent money for this and it has a HUGE design flaw... as i type this it is sitting on four small block.. perfect evntilation underneath as it is so hot resting my palms to type burns...


NOT HAPPY DELL!!!

i only hope that this kind of heat doesnt screw the motherboard or processor or ram or video card...

    I purchased laptop model No:- Dell Vostro 1510(service tag:- J6JV2BS & Model No:- [protected]) from Growel Infotech ,Rajkot, Gujrat(a dealer of dell) on appril 2009.1year warrenty was given on the said product as discussed & agreed upon between me and deler representative be atthe time of purchase. Now AC adaptor is not working and same was informed to the concerned person immediatly.They are telling now ,it is not cover under warantee. Kindly help me to solve the said problem.

      I tried purchasing Dell Laptop from their website and after all the Laptop configuration selection I submitted the purchase request but Now after 2 days Neither I have got any response from Dell nor I can place a new request for the purchase of any other laptops through their website (don't know how they track it, I have even deleted my cookies, history etc). I can't even track my previous request through account created on Dell website. Their sales service is junk. If they have such a pathetic service even before sales then I am afraid what will happen once I have given the money and purchased the product.

      A customer pays somewhere between 10-15K more money just to get better service from a well known company like Dell and if this is the response they give then I will advise people to go for other cheaper brands and invest this money in getting better configuration for their Systems.

        The above laptop was purchased under DGS & D rate contract with the Railway. The system has been delivered through local agent at Bilaspur, Chattisgarh.
        The agent does not know ABC of laptops. He has been made the contact person for after sales support.
        Even after contacting the supplies head office at Delhi , the things have not improved. The norton antivirus loaded does not get updated. The government should delist this item from DGS & D contract.
        HOPE THE DELL GUYS ARE WATCHING AND LISTENING.

          My laptop is inspiron 1545. i bought it at chennai spencer plaza.very often my pc is not shutdown properly.this information appearing on window when i am booting.initially i thought some os files were missing.now i formatted my os still that problem persists. though i had 4gb ram and 250gb HDD my system is hanging many times.i dont no what is the problem is,i am having warranty too.so please tell me what the problem is and give the solution for this problem.

            This is utmost unfortunate to write here about the Experience I had and still going through given by the DELL Service and support .

            I Booked “Dell(TM) Inspiron(TM) 535s Desktop” on 2nd of July through phone payment done by credit card , with Mr. “Jatin Ahuja” Inside Sales Account Manager Dell India Pvt. Ltd. Gurgaon, India.
            It was supposed to be delivered in “ 1-2 weeks “ as told by “ Mr. Jatin “ but got delayed , reason provided by “Mr. Jatin ” is some parts are out of stock , System got delivered after 22nd July ( “ More than Two weeks “) .

            After that by the procedure dell people follow ,their Engineer came for the installation and discovered that there is some fault in the system and cannot be installed ,
            He raised the issue by saying that lot of Items got defect and needs to be replaced (SMPS Box , Mother Board , Connection Issue ). : UNACCEPTABLE

            After this I raised the issue by dropping mail to “[protected]@cms.com “ providing all details , In response to my mail got a call from “ Mr. S.Nadeem Alam “ promising me that he will be calling me in few minutes with the status of the issue . but I received no calls from any one from DELL , May be he is too busy or Customer value is no more important if money is already received , Even no person from sales/service department is calling and telling the status

            Then again they raised another request for new system , new request received at dell on 17th sep 2009 , i mail from their customer site to ask for any compensation , but they refuse saying that they have no compensation policy irrespective of whtever they do or whtever customer is suffering .

            Some parts of System are there and still packed and dead bacause there is no CPU delivered yet , because of the delay and Unprofessional response from DELL services/Sales department the purpose of buying the system is already gone in trash. Being a person from IT background and working in service sector we always value our customer on prior basis , but this is the worst service management I have ever seen in my Entire professional and personal life. I need to know whom should be held responsible for the lose I suffered and still going through it .

            I had a bad experience with Sales rep mr. Jatin Ahuja Inside Sales Account Manager Dell India Pvt. Ltd. Gurgaon, India. He is very Rude and mannerless . He turned me fully down for buying Dell Laptop . His communication skills was not upto the mark . I never expected such a kind of service from Dell . If anybody from Dell is listening then i request you to take proper action against such sales people so that the reputation of dell should not come down .
            I agree completely. Jatin Ahuja is an incompetent fool who does not know how to talk to customers. I wonder why they have such people in customer service. I ordered a desktop from dell and it was delayed by more than 3 weeks. When I called up to enquire about the status, this person was extremely rude and unprofessional. If dell cannot deliver the computers on time, they should discontinue their online delvery and not cheat their customers.

              I bot a Dell laptop 1.5 yrs back though their usual shipping model. During the first yr itself the 'hinge' started coming out (it was a bit portruding) but unfortunately I did not take it seriously and therefore did not call them to fix this up. After 1.2 yrs of purchase the hinge gave up completely (the monitor in the bottom left started hanging)...the hinge was broken (in minimal normal home use...no accident/ fall of laptop). When I called them they said that I mandatorily "have to" take their AMC which cost me close to 9k/ annum.

              The problem is that I have come to know that Inspiron series (1525) has this problem and many laptops have reported this issue. If this is because of Dell's faulty laptop then why should the customer pay for their faluts?

              Why does DELL take back this series? What is their real value proposition?? I guess it is shameful for DELL.

              I will really advise ppl not to buy DELL (I did not listen to ppl myself when I was asked not to buy Dell by existing Dell customers-frnds).

              Dell inspiron 1525 is crap i boguht mine less then a year ago the hing is broken and the bottom of my laptop the screws keep coming out so every month i have to go in and get them fixed, i have called dell they told me to deal with the store i got it from the store has told me this is happaning with all of the dell inspiron laptops, IF THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM DELL SHOULD BE FIXING IT NO MATTER WHAT EVEN IF WARRENTY RUNS OUT.but they wont, there really should be a recall on this laptop first laptop i have ever bought in facted its the only computer i have ever owned so im still pretty mad never will i ever buy from dell or there products unless they do something about this problem, maybe we should take them to court and fight for our rights as customer.

              I do have the same problem with my 1525

              My laptop is out of warranty and I called Dell's technical support, so that I can purchase them.

              They gave me a solution to go for an extended warranty which costs around Rs 8000/- and more.

              One of the reps advised me to take the laptop to a local laptop service center, as Dell doesn't ship parts.

              Dell's customer service is pathetic and their customer support reps are horrible.
              Bought a Dell Inspiron 1525 in blue for my son for christmas 08 and the left hinge has completely snapped making the screen cover come loose its less than a year old shall i ring dell or is it a waste of time - seems to be a common complaint on these laptops.
              I Agree. I have a 1525 and have the same problem, left hinge broken and settings on cover are cracked off
              options...replace the lid and the hinges...or drive screws right through the G.D. lid

              ...If it's an ongoing consistent problem with their product, it should be on recall and fixed...all the car manufacturers are expected to do it, why isn't everyone else. it's consumer theft as far as I'm concerned, and the companies that do this obviously don't care.

              they still make their money from much larger contracts and don't care about the little guys trying to find a good balance between usability and value, not that these L.T.'s were cheap...

              Call it what you want, I'm sick of spending money on products and watching them fall apart...I wish the little guy could do more. >:-(

              This laptop had a remarkable review when I bought it and now it's a stationary P.O.S. leaning against the wall so the screen stays up. These reviewers generally look at things at face value and have no idea about durability issues that could arise.

              Dell has found a way to commit to customer value by using shoddy parts, it's not cheap to fix (I can think of a better use for $150-300) an they offer no remorse other than you have to spend more money

              Eventually Companies like this fall...Look what happened to the mighty GM, Lol

                i have purchased one dell laptop in last year may 2008.(service tag 64tp1bs)Just after crossing 1 year i am facing some starting problem in my laptop .As i have not used my laptop for more than 2 month as i have shifted my home in july.After that when i am starting the laptop it not start .To rectify the problem i contacted dell [protected] and given payment for engineer visit to mr mohit sharma but till 9th no person visited to check my laptop.For this i again contacted 3 times to above number but they telling that payment is not received but as per citibank they have given on 2nd.again i follow on 14th then they send engr on 15 th.when engr open my laptop i found rusted base in laptop . also at moment my laptop started but he told me that there is no prob. i told him that sometime it will start and some time not so i requested him to pl keep it in observation state .but he denied. no i am facing same problem. i think i rcv defe3ctive laptop.plreplace it otherwise i will gotocon.forum

                    I have purchased a DELL computer in April 2009, which had a hardware problem. On contacting DELL for rectification of the problem, it has suggested software solutions (3/4 times) followed by hardware replacements (3 times). None of them worked and this has consumed 2 months. After a lot of follow ups, DELL has agreed to replace the system and assured that new system would be delivered in 10-12 days’ time but after picking the old system first (which is also conveyed as company policy). This has created a lot of inconvenience to me as I am not able to use computer.
                    My system was picked up on 26th July 2009 and I haven’t received the replacements yet even after more than a month. I have sent them many reminders in this regard but DELL is not responding and I am without computer since more than a month and facing loss of work.
                    DELL has defaulted on every occasion right after placing the order which include delay in delivery after placing the purchase order by 2 weeks (though the delivery time was one week), delivery of sub-standard product, incompetent advices and repair to remove the fault, delayed/improper responses every time, and now the long delay in replacement.

                    I agree. I have been very irritated with Dell India's customer service. It has been more than 3 weeks since I placed my order for a Inspiron Desktop and even now Dell can't even give me a date by when the shipment will be delivered. So pathetic is their customer service that I regret having even considered a Dell product.

                    Please say NO to Dell.
                    I have purchase Dell dekstop last year, from Vighna har computer Panvel, Navimumbai. this dealer has got very poor and very irregular response kind of service, that i can not recommed dell pc to other my freinds, this dealer demands to much followup for our complaint for which it takes three to four days, and above all u have to followup ur own, he does not think himself responsible for the complaint. his approach towards complaint is very casual.or very rude. i hear by request u to look the matter very sereously as above all it will down ur good will.
                    I strongly agree.Me too had a problem regarding my Laptop.Dell replaced almost each and every component the also it was not working properly.Finally they agree to provide me new lapto.As per their instruction is submited my laptop to the dealer.Now almost 45 days had been crossed but nobody had came to pichup the faulty laptop.I had call almost 10 to 12 time and i got the same answer that within one week your laptop will be picked up and within 15 working days new will be provided.

                      This is to bring to your notice that I had purchased Dell Laptop 1310 on 28th Oct'08 (Deepawali) without Installatin from COMPUCITI.The representative of the outlet gave me the Driver and asked to install the same.But I was unableto install,once I reach home.While purchasing he told any problem related to Software can be tackle by us and for hardware,we can take the help of Dell Customer care. I called the reprsentative of the shop and explain about the Problem. but he couldn't able to do solve. Once I reach to his shop today for Installation, he told you woud be charge Rs.750+VAT., which is not at all acceptable. And moreover, Laptop is under Warranty.


                      I would request you to take some action as soon as possible.

                        the company's customer care is the extremely rude and pathetic. The spokepersons who hung up the call on me on inquiring for laptop purchase includes the names of
                        1. Mr. Rajesh
                        2.Mr. Kumar
                        3. John Rakesh
                        there were not one not two but three customer care executives who hung up on me even when you call up for purchase details. If this is the sorry state of the company's customer care before purchase then I cannot just imagine what will they resort to after purchase.
                        I absolutely agree with this.

                        The CC reps are very rude, and in most cases they just hang up the phone.

                        Few names to specify are Pankaj, Vinod Nayar.

                        Even writing mails to their managers is of now use.
                        Dell are scum in India. I am an Indian myself. On asking for a small discount as I had purchased machine earlier from them with discounts the customer services guy got agitated and had a full scale rant at me. When I requested I be transferred to his manager he shouted more. I will be contacting Michael Dell about one Mr Raj Kumar ( lied to me about his name ) but I have his details.

                          my dell laptop has been stopped working from few days .i dont know what the problem is in the laptop.
                          the laptop is under warranty period and there is as such no service centre for getting it repaired.
                          so i want a quick response in getting my laptop repaired as soon as possible as i have to face many problems.so i would be glad i[censored] look into the mater and send your service man as soon as possible or else provide us with the tollfree no. for the service on the id as provided above
                          I own a dell vostro 1510 laptop, i bought it 6 months before. now i have a problem with the battery... the battery is fully exhaused within one hour... previously the battery stand for 2.45 hours... i dont know what is the problem and im asking for the solution.
                          Can ya please tell me wot problem you were facing..?

                              dell inspiron — change quotation at the time of delivery

                              quotation was changed at the time of shipping of laptop. earliar carry case was included in the quotation but at the time of delievery it was changed and the order no did not changed . when , I contact the concerned sale person rohit rawat (vipul tech square , gurgoan) he made false commitment that i m sending new quotation for carry case but it did not happen . and further his contact number is also not AVAILABLE

                              Im Ramesh from Hyd, purchased Dell Studio 1558 in 2009 by my friend in US. After 2-1/2 years, it got repaired and lost my Operating System. When I called customer care, they have forwarded my call to Dell Billing Team. After giving all the details of service tag and other info, they have agreed to send me Operating System CD with the shipping cost of Rs.300. I have made the payment through netbanking and sent the screenshot of bank transaction as requested by the Customer Care Executive. It is very clear to them that my Operating System is Windows 7 Home Premium when purchased, but through courier they sent me Windows 7 Home Basic, which really made me mad. After repeated mails about this issue to the customer care executive, there is no response from that lady. I got the CD from Delhi company called VIDUR & CO PVT. LTD.

                              Now, I expect from a big MNC company DELL to provide me Windows 7 Home Premium version as soon possible. How could it be possible when you search the product with service tag and its configuration I do not understand.

                              THESE ARE SOME OF THE MAILS THAT I HAVE SENT:

                              I got the CD, but you have sent me Windows 7 Home Basic, wherein my DELL LAPTOP's version is Home Premium, please check with my service TAG and let me know immediately. Please understand the situation and send me the original Windows 7 Home Premium ASAP.

                                Actually I am giving up all my hope with dell services here..

                                I purchased a dell inspiron 1545 on 20th of this month from a retailer..

                                On the next day itself I got two red spots on my screen..from that day I have been contacting the dell technicalsupport team to get this rectified..

                                At the first call, a lady named lopamudra answered my call and she said that as this is an issue occured with in this short period of time, they will either change the display, or change the laptop. I made it clear that even if it is not possible to replace it, please solve the issue by servicing the laptop..and i got a surety from the othr side..unfortunately the next day she called me back and i was not able to pick up the phone.

                                I called them back and never got this person back on line..and the most surprisingly..i was told about some company policy and was said that i will not get my issue solved..they told me clearly that they give no value for the money that i have spend for this..

                                They started passing my call to different people..one guy said that he will transfer my call to the authorized person and he transfered my call to the call management department...How will you feel like when this happens..they will offer you heaven before purchasing and just after you give the money..you are in the dustbin..

                                I even didnt wanted the laptop replaced..I just asked tosend a technician to service the laptop display..

                                You know it is very heart breaking that you have spend 38000RS inorder to purchase a laptopwith two bright red spots on the screen..

                                I am now thinking tht what will be the status of my services after one year if this is happening to me just after a day..

                                I am reallllyyy reallyyyy embarassed and disappointed that I opted for dell..

                                I am sure that this posting will not help me in anyway..but for the sake of it..

                                My thousands are gone in wain for this $h...t..

                                i hav given complain against my laptop(inspiron1545) to load vista but they told that xp is best & then i agree to that.But after few days when i asked them to load vista they didn't show ny response.plz kindly look into this matter.

                                  I have purchased my DELL studio laptop (service tag: 8TP****) on 30-08-08. After purchase of my system, I have faced weird problem with my DVD-ROM. It’s got replaced three times, which I think is a manufacturing defect from DELL. Because all two DVD-ROMs can`t be faulty.

                                  I have contacted customer care several times for same problem but I didn`t got any satisfactory answer, why my DVD-ROM is replaced for so many times. What is the real problem? Every time
                                  They say that some serious decisions are going on regarding this problem. Our technicians are working to resolve this issue.

                                  I have sent around 3 emails to DELL on [protected]@dell.com on same issue, and one on
                                  [protected]@tns-global.com and one in section o[censored]nresolved issues(case no. [protected]). IS there any method left to say “ HELLO, I AM IN BIG
                                  PROBLEM, HELP ME”.


                                  Now, there is only one thing left for me, and that is “CONSUMER FORUM”

                                  Dell Studio — hard flap of lap top

                                  when i open my flap of my lap top, it's seems to be very hard.if proper attention is not given there are the chances of breakeage in the flap kindly take some action soon.
                                  The service providers I spoke with were all very nice and the on-site technician was very nice and helpful. My only frustration, was the second time I called to get help (because the problem with my computer was not resolved after the first time a phone service provider worked with me), I got transferred incorrectly 5 times. Each person was extremely nice and then said they would transfer to the correct number (all saying the same department) but after being transferred I was still not connected to the correct place. In speaking with other Dell users, I have found that this occurence seems to be relatively common. Other than that my experience with the Dell service team was great.
                                  My wife bought a Dell while I was at Iraq and when I got back the first day I plugged it in it would not type a letter. I called the tech support they couldn't help me get it going. Later I called the warranty people and just wanted to simply get the address to send it back . For a hour being connected back and forth from one customer service person to the tech then back to a customer service person I could not get the person to tell me the address to send my computer back to get it fixed or replaced and then when I asked for the supervisor after 15 min waiting I couldn't get him so I had to hang up. I would not even tell my worst or best friend to buy a Dell. I have a compact for a year in the desert and it was a used one and I have not had a single problem with it.

                                  Dell Studio 1555 — Manufacturing Defect

                                  I bought Dell Studio in April,2010. From the day 1, it is hard to close or open my laptop. Later i started getting some creeking noise when i open/close my laptop.I called today to the Dell Customer care to inform this.... but the response is poor.
                                  I was offered with a laptop replacement due to display problem {service tag 7Y5****}.A logistics person came to collect the defective one.But no is giving any information when i will get the new one .
                                  You just need to establish an efficient communication with their warrant agents.

                                  By my experience with dell bland, its just but perfect. I've dealt with their warrant services and they are leading among other manufacturers. They have a dell pro-support services portfolio which has worked so well for our company.

                                  I purchased dell laptop(DELL 1525 NB Fully Loded[protected] from the office works. On that day i think i have purchased laptop of very Good Company but today i think i was wrong.
                                  In the month of july i visited the office works for the repair of my laptop as its battery and the one of the key was not working. i was being informed by one of the dell employee that i have to pay 110 dollars for the ac adapter and the in the day or two the technical person will come to your home and will replace the key pad and the same was done. i recieved the ac adapter from your company vide invoice dated[protected].

                                  Again i approached the dell on[protected] regarding the problem of my dell laptop, i was told by the dell employee that all the necessary repairs will be done within two days free of cost. Accordingly somebody contacted me and told that the some person will visit my home between 9-1pm on[protected] and the person named Prabu reached my house at 1.45pm despite of repeated request on his phone to come before 1 pm .
                                  Mr Prabu replaced MB, Battery and AC Adapter free of cost .

                                  The matter did not finish here i asked Mr prabu to rectify the problem of screw which were poped up from the laptop but he refused that the same is not covered under warranty and also refused for the same.

                                  Mr Prabu brought Lcd Screen and other Parts with him but refused to repair.

                                  I want to know :-
                                  1. Why I was charged 110 dollars in the month of july 2009 when on[protected] the same was replaced free of cost.
                                  2. Why my Laptop was not fully repaired despite of assurance given by the company that the same will be fixed free of cost.
                                  3. Two parts of the laptop are missing after repair on[protected]
                                  I would appreciate if you will look into the matter immediately failing which i have no other option to throw the laptop because it is very difficult for me to run laptop.

                                  i had a studio 1558 and its resolution is on which is preferred as a defaullt but when im playing the vidieo or other few things are not very sharply displayed on vidies it has pixel spreads like patches i dono the resason i had tried all ways options i had in the laptop any one can help me can you kindly please mail me on this id [protected]@gmail.com rest of the things regarding the performance is beautiful exept the pixel patches
                                  Your consumer survey is slanted toward Dell. You need open ended polls to learn what the problems are with your technicians.

                                  The last technician I dealt with was a woman and did a great job of fixing my computer. The technician before her was a male and talked a good game but fixed nothing on my computer.

                                  The prices you charge for technical service is outrageous especiallly when you get a blowhard egomaniacal tech like I got with no results.

                                  If you had the same experience, you would be upset too!!

                                  Dell Studio — Service issue

                                  I have taken a laptop with 3yrs full warranty from Dell and now I got a problem.

                                  This laptop has been gifted by one of my friends.My friend has taken this laptop from a known person but I dont know on whose name its been registered.

                                  Now when I call them they are asking the name where laptop has been taken. Even though I have all the info related to laptop other than the name it is taken on Dell service team is not going to accept it.

                                  Can you please help me in resolving this issue.

                                  Now a days i got the problem related to battery backup. I have a Dell Vostro laptop purchased in august 2013 with 1 year warrenty service.

                                    Hi All,
                                    I have been using DELL XPS 15inch laptop for over a period of 15months. I had a complain about heating up my laptop and DELL replaced the Motherboard, Heat sink in warranty period.
                                    And exactly after 93rd days of the replacement my motherboard died again.
                                    I contacted DELL, they are saying any replacement part has a warranty period of 90 days.And saying it is very unfortunate of me to having a fault detected after 93rd day.
                                    Now I have to pay Rs.14000/- to have another motherboard.

                                    I would like to know if I could have DELL pay some attention to my problem.

                                        I had booked a laptop with dell on the 10th of July 2009. (Order No[protected]

                                        I was told that the same would be delivered to me within 10 days time.

                                        On checking with them later, i was told it would take some more time... this kept on happening and last time i checked, their website showed that my laptop would be delivered on 24th of August!!!.

                                        I had mailed them twice for the status, but the only reply i got was that the spare parts are not available!! and when i call their customer service they disconnect my calls.

                                        After getting fed up, i cancelled my order, and am awaiting my refund cheque.

                                        But i still need a reply from them as to why there was such a long delay & also why wasnt the customer kept informed..
