Hi all,

I booked a dell studio 15 laptop a week before.
And when i was booking that particular system. They promised me that i wil be getting my laptop within a week.
And that to its cost around 48000.
And it was urgent as i confirmed them repeatedly for my delivery as i was abt to leave to my home town.
And they also promised me that i wil be getting the laptop within a week.

But now whe am checking with the status of my order online.
It showing that date of delivery is on 17th of this month. Its almost aroun 2 weeks of time which bugs me alot.
To change the delivery address again it takes a huge process.
Also these peoples are boldly doing this type of service as no one will question them.
Infact in the dell website there is no option to log a complaint also.

And now when i am trying to cal them no body picks up the phone which makes me really crazy.
A customer should not be treated like this after paying a hard earned money.

Atlast to fnish... If you are choosing dell... Then support sucks... Try to switch to hp... This is my kind advice

i want my prize money
Dell is a pathetic company..atleast DELL India...I booked a Inspiron Desktop on 28th...The sales girl told me that I will get the machine in 7 Days..when the order got confirmed..I got a mail saying delivery time 7-10 days from the date of manufacture..now I needed the Desktop for an urgent purpose...I felt guilty over the decision I made to choose DELL and called the sales person to cancel the Order..She said it will reach in 2-3 days time though they say 7-10 Days..the estimated delivery date was given as 3rd FEB 2010. On 2rd FEB 2010, I get a call and on 3rd FEB 2010 I get a mail from DELL support saying my order is stuck due to incorrect pin code (500 0075 instead of 560 075). The address was straight forward with all landmarks included in address. The address is in main part of Banglore. Despiting confirming it on 2nd FEB, the order is still on HOLD status on 3rd and nearly 4 people I had to confirm the Pin code. After that the response I get from the DELL support is that the DELIVERY will be done on 11th FEB 2010. My sole purpose of ordering a machine was the urgent work and they promise to deliver the machine after that..When I tried to cancel the order today (3-FEB-2010), the call center girl says that I have to pay a fine of Rs.1800 for a PC that has not left the factory..I have complained to multiple sources in DELL and ALL WERE RUDE to me..And later I learned that it is the was DELL works in India...Feeling Lost in a spiderweb of tricks played by DELL..When I asked why they didn't intimated of the cancellation charges at the time of booking, the person was saying that it is there somewhere in 'Terms & Conditions' section of website (not even the ordering pages) and will not be shown at the time of ordering..I feel helpless and angry over the attitude they have shown to me..This is cheating.
Though initially tough, the Dell staff managed to Deliver me the Desktop on 6th-Feb-2010. So I am not having any complaint/issue against DELL and am Highly satisfied with the Computer and service I received lateron. PLEASE IGNORE THE ABOVE COMPLAINT (COMMENT) BY ME..THIS IS NO MORE VALID.

    We have bought a Dell laptop about 2 and half months ago. After 5 days from the date of purchase the laptop was not working. We called the dell technical service assistant and submitted him the laptop as it was not repairable here. Now since then we are regularly making the call at the dell service centre but they are making false statements that the replacement laptop has been despatched it will be recd in a day or two. But the same thing is continuing for last one and half months. Now as we are facing serious problem due to non availbility of the laptop we request you to take action against this serious irresponsiblity of the company after selling the laptops under replacement warranty. Breach of warranty and false statements from dell customer care should be punished.

      Dear Sir,

      I recently purchased a dell inspiron laptop from dell bangalore from a dell sales representative called bhavya g. I referred a friend to dell (who purchased a laptop from them) and was promised verbally and through an email that i will be sent a laptop bag for the referral.

      The laptop bag never came and on enquiring i was told that they are short of bags and i will be sent one soon. However it has been more than two months and i havent received the bag. My emails concerning the bag are no longer being answered.

      I copied bhavya's manager kranthi in the mail but she too has not replied.

      I don't know if i will get this bag but i hope gullible customers are not taken for a ride by dell.

      DELL — non delivery of laptop

      i order dell laptop on 13/10/2010 and transfer money throurh electronic fund transfer on 14/10/2010 the sales representative said the delivery date on 25/10/2010 till now iam received, if i call he is not responding,not answering my call so pls suggest me in this regards

      Dell Inspiron laptop — sound system is not working properly

      recently about one month ago i have purchased dell inspiron i3 15R laptop. all is working fine.but now sound system is not working in properly there is too much disturbance in speakers.

      Dell Inspiron laptop — laptop not registered and are not considering the warranty period.

        I am a 2nd year student of IIM Lucknow. I had purchased a Dell laptop as a part of the bulk deal organized by IIM Lucknow and Dell last year. In less than an year the battery backup has dropped to less than 50 mins. And on complaining they are very rude and unprofessional. I made a complaint on their site on 22nd July. they haven't replied to me till now. I am attaching a screen shot of my battery backup. These dell people are not helping my cause at all. Can you help me?

        DELL — lack of service

        This is a copy of the mail I have written to them.

        Hi Sir/Madam,

        This is an issue with regards to quotation received regarding a 6 cell battery for Rs.4200. Now I wanted to place the order for the same and called up Dell people in 20-25 days from the date of quotation received. But the person whom I contacted told me that there has been a price increase for the part and you will be sent a mail (the same day I spoke to him) for the same after which the DD can be made. But there was no communication from anyone. Since the need was mine, I called them up regularly to get the new quotation but the person whom I had contacted told me that the mail has already been sent and it should have reached you by now. But I never received any quotation from your company. Now, in January, I get this mail telling me that the price for the same battery is Rs.5500/-. Now after exchanging mails and talking to them over the phone today (2/2/09), all I get to hear is Sorry Sir but we cannot do anything with the price changes, all we can do is charge you Rs.5000/- instead of Rs.5500.
        Now why should I pay you even Re.1 more for a fault that is not mine at all.
        I have tried talking to billing department (name written here of the person contacted), the team leader (name written here of the person contacted) but they have given me no solution.
        Please look into the matter quickly and revert.

        Looking for your cooperation.

        PS- I hope this mail is not answered by the same people who I have interacted with over phone.

        Now only God knows what will happen to this complaint of mine.

        I purchased a laptop inspiron 15 a month ago . the antivirus in it got deleted coz there was a virus , i formatted the laptop . now i dont have any antivirus . and the dealer said i will have to buy it . DELL is supposed to give a antivirus cd , but they have only given a trial version of it . please help ..

          I have been waiting for my Dell desktop for than a month and a half. First the sales executive took more than twoo weeks to realize that they need to collect the wrong configuration which has been shipped to me. Then they promise me end of July delivery which now has been extended to Mid August. They have no sense of timing and they ship thier desktops by road from Chennai. So much for a short lead time message that Dell tries to associate themselves with all the time.

          We have now been waiting over a month for my desktop computer. We keep getting emails from Dell that the order has been delayed. I think we are going to cancel it. When we called to inquire why it as delayed, the reason was that they are having trouble with getting parts? But, the first email said it was "on the way". Now it has been delayed to October 16th. That will make it 7 weeks if it arrives by then.
          I think I am spoiled by Newegg, I've ordered TV from DELL this morning and hoped to get it by the end of the week. Hell, they only processed my order 3 days after I've actually submitted it. I really HOPE my situation won't be as bad as yours. I hold my thumbs that my TV finally ships tomorrow. That means I'll receive it probably only next week. I am not buying anything from DELL again.

            We received our laptops as part of a bulk order in which the order was for 160GB hard disk, a DVD writer and bluetooth. The laptops we recieved had 120 GB hard disk with a combo drive. On complaining, all the laptops were replaced with 160 GB harddisk and a DVD writer. Now, my laptop crashed and it was not detecting the harddisk. When I ask for a replacement, I received a 120 GB harddisk. On calling Dell customer care immediately, they asked me to send back the part, which was taken by the technician. Basically, the earlier change of parts was not updated in Dell's information system. Even the customer care guy has no idea what to do now. He closed my call with no further communication. I don't know whats going on and when will the part get replaced. My system's service tag no - is DXQQ1BS

            Dell Vostro 1400 — fraud

            hello,
            i had booked a dell vostro 1400 (D75R1BS) and had ordered for a DVD RW. After 100 days of Shipping of the product, when i tried to write a DVd i realized that the drive was a DVD ROM. i complained for the same and at last after 21 days of waiting (in business next day warranty with complete cover) i again got a DVD ROM shipped at my place.
            more over when i formatted the laptop and tried to re install the softwares and operating system i also discovered that though i had ordered for windows vista business, i had been shipped the driver installation DVD's for a windows xp operating system. when i complained for the same i had been told to download the entire dvd from their site. and every single time when i want to format my computer i have to download the installation drivers again.

              It's a suggestion to all of you that don't purchase anything from DELL as they are doing fraud now a days and doing wrong commitment.

              I hope you will get a clear picture from what i have email to dell but they are not replying of any email neither they receiving the phone they got the payment and now making fool so i will go to court but i just wanted to inform all of you about this.

              As per our phone discussion you were suppose to sending me the email in next 5 minutes of your manager of parts arrival on 30th of July. I didn't get any email yet And now if i am trying to call you've not receiving my calls that's really bad. I didn't expect it from you man.

              I am realizing that you are not replying of my emails now a days so what should i understand. It's been [B]18-19 days[/B] today when i made the payment of my laptop and you committed me that laptop will deliver in coming one week or maximum 10 days. When i called you after [B]12 days[/B] then you told me that your order has been canceled, so is it right from your point of view that you will cancel the order without any prior notification. If i am asking you the solution right now then you gave me the two solutions that either you will refund my money or i have to go with 15inch laptop. And i can't go with any one because these are not solution for me this will be compromise for me and i am the one who is making the payment, the full payment you ask me to make than why would i compromise ?

              The mistake is from your side totally, you didn't inform me about my order cancellation neither you've giving me the exact date when can you send me the laptop. You and all your seniors try to make me fool or you may be trying to fraud with me. I have called you more than 20 times yet today in last 30 minutes and you've not receiving my call even. So it's very much clear that you've lying again and again and trust me my mood is getting bad very bad.I have to go to the court now with all the details.

              If you've giving me the solutions of refunding my money than i am align with that, please refund my money but remember and it should be very very clear to you that i would need my money with interest. The interest that bank gonna charge me on the EMI of the amount i paid you and the interest aprox 4000 INR.

              I agrre I too cheated.
              I fully agree with above statement.I am also suffering after buying dell`s studio 15 inch full hd laptop at a whopping cost of rs 52000/ approx. on 10.11.2009.Now it is not working and lying in my house like a dubba occupying precious space.Its warrantee was upto 1.11.2010 and it stopped working on26.11.2010. Mr Smeer of M/s DELL at bangalore on telephoned informed that MOTHER BOARD is gone and I have to get exteneded warantee at Rs 14500/- first and mother board will be replaced.I am totally perplexed what to do? To maintain a laptop I have sell out Rs 14500/- annualy which is not possible for person like me.I have nothing so far. I have lost interest also in using laptop any more.
              I am really at pain writing that an US base company IS BIG FRAUD AND CHEAT.And suggest that no body should buy any product of M/s DELL`s make.

                I have purchased Dell inspiron 1525 with pre-installed Windows Vista Home Basic, i want to install windows XP sp2 .
                I have selected CD ROM is the first boot disk but it's not booting windows XP CD but when i insert vista CD it's recognising . please kindly help me to get install Windows XP on my dell inspiron 1525.

                Here is a link to show you how to install XP, you have to change your hardrive settings in the bios.

                  Respected Sir,

                  I myself Mr Sriram Deshpande was traveling in train no. 1402 ( Nandigram Express) from ADILABAD to KALYAN, on 27th JULY 2009, my birth no. was 52 coach S2, My PNR No. was “[protected]”.

                  Train was departed from ADILABAD at 1:40 hr, till 12:00am I was awake then I slept for 3 hr at 3.45 i found that my Bag with laptop and cloths was stolen which was kept below my seat which is having my laptop.

                  For that I had complained to Kalyan railway police, complaint no. 272/09 at 4:30am after getting down at Kalyan 4.15 am.

                  I have lost my Dell laptop worth 30000 thousand, and cloths worth around 5000 also my driving license.

                  I am working as Sr Software engineer in Pune, the asset which I had made with great difficulty during my 4 yrs of professional life, hope you will understand my problem and do the needful. Thank you.
                  Hence I personally request for compancession of Rs.35000/- and oblise.

                    I purchased a Dell Inspiron 2 years back and I was happy with its performance for 1 year, because of which I ordered one more Laptop for my spouse.
                    My problems started soon after the warranty period. My system performance slowed down drastically, battery life came down to less than 10% of its earlier performance and also the Keyboard started malfunctioning.
                    Now, the motherboard of the second laptop has crashed at the end of its warranty period.
                    The company offers extended warranty for 6000Rs. This is sheer exploitation!!! Two laptops with a life of 1 year with a combined worth of 95000!!! They are also charging 18000 for replacing the motherboard.

                    Didn't expect this from a company like DELL - that too with both Purchases!!

                    dell,laptop inspiron — speaker,keypad and battery problem

                    hello sir i hav bought my lape in feb.......was working nicely...bt dere is some problem in my keypad.Some buttons r nt working properly......even battary back is not upto d mark.And speaker is not clearly working.......

                      i bought my laptop 1525 M62 on 15th nov, 2008 with the promises of the best service if any fault found in the warranty period of 1 yr.but i am very disappointed with the response when i am trying to get it done.the body paint of my laptop is damaged itself when it's not even a year and people from customer care are not responding to my request.i am going to take a legal action if my faith is broken.kindly do the needful.i would be obliged.

                          Hi,

                          I bought DELL laptop (studio 1537) on Jan 27 ‘09 form a Nehru place dealer (Computer Empire). Within a week I realized that the machine had few problems like


                          1. Speakers were of poor quality,

                          2. Its WiFi used to get turn on automatically,

                          3. Few touch buttons were not working,

                          4. Few drivers were not supported by the operating system. After rebooting they used to get uninstalled.


                          On Feb 05 ’09 I informed DELL customer care about all these problems. After wasting few hours on the phone they said they will send a technician to my place to check further. Technician came on Feb 11 ’09. Without seeing the machine he said he has to format the computer. I told him if the problem was so simple I could have done it myself. After talking to him for few minutes I realized that he doesn’t have any clue what is wrong with the machine. He left, and I was stuck again.

                          The very same day I e-mailed DELL about what happened. They replied back on Feb 13 ’09, telling that they will check the matter and will contact me on Feb 16 ’09. But they didn’t call back.

                          On Feb 17 ’09 they e-mailed saying they will send some senior engineer to re-check the laptop. But they sent some other engineer of the same rank and same knowledge. This engineer said this machine cannot be repaired it should get replaced. I got very disappointed as replacement ETA time was 1 month. I agreed, as I had no other choice.

                          On Mar 2 ’09 they started to process my complaint and for the replacement.

                          Then the DELL person with whom I was in touch, Mr. John L, suddenly disappeared. He didn’t reply to any of my emails. On Mar 17 ’09 he mailed back saying that he will call me today, but he didn’t. And again he got disappeared. I mailed Ms. Deepa Maria, another DELL employee. Maria mailed back saying she will look into the matter, but she also disappeared. On mar 26 ’09 I again sent her a reminder mail and copied it to John as well. Finally she called back and arranged for the pick-up of the machine. They picked-up the machine on Apr 06 ’09.

                          JUST TO PICK UP A FAULTY MACHNE IT TOOK DELL MORE THAN A MONTH.

                          I asked her if she could get it deliver it to my place and not to the dealer, she told me that’s not a problem and took my home address.

                          I received a mail on Apr 20 ’09 from Maria stating that the machine would be delivered to me latest by Apr 21 ’09, But I didn’t receive anything, I tried calling up Maria number of times but nobody answered, I called up customer care and they kept me on phone for hours without a remotest idea about my machine, finally I mailed back to Maria stating the inconvenience that is going and to my shock I got a reply attached along the receiving receipt from the courier company (Blue Dart) telling me that I’ve received my machine which I didn’t. the customer care even tried to suspect me as if I was lying about the delivery..

                          It took them the whole day to tell me that it was actually delivered to the dealer from whom I bought the laptop. They flatly refused to get it deliver it to my place. As this conversation was on phone they very conveniently said they haven’t made any such commitment.

                          After all this harassment I got my machine on Apr 25 ’09 collected from the dealer. The moment I opened the box I realised it was not the same model which I was having earlier. This new machine had less features as compared to the previous one.

                          On Apr 26 ’09 I mailed them asking explanation to this, but nobody replied. I forwarded that mail to all the id’s I had of DELL employee and the customer care as well. But nobody replied back. On may 05 ’09 I again sent them a reminder. Two days later Maria mailed me saying that Karthik is dealing with the issue and he will contact me back soon. But he did not mail or called me back. On may 8 ’09 Karthik mailed me saying they are checking with dealer if any old machine is available with them, they will replace this laptop with it. I could not understand what they were doing.

                          Later on, they explained that the machine they sent me is a higher version and the one I ordered was older version.


                          I had Studio 1537 and DELL gave me Studio 1555
                          It doesn't have any touch buttons (previous one had)
                          It has just 3 USB ports, where as mine was with 4 ports
                          No remote control is given with this machine
                          There is no keyboard back light
                          There is no light for Number lock or caps lock
                          No on/off button for Wifi

                          But none of the DELL employee could explain me how this new machine is a higher version.

                          THEY DIDN’T EVEN ASK ME OR INFORM ME ONCE BEFORE SENDING ME SOME OTHER MODEL.

                          As my work was suffering I had no choice I had to use the machine. I started working on it. On 6 May 09 it stopped working. It got turned off and did not reboot. I called customer care and complaint about it, after 1 n half hour conversation the executive was convinced that this problem cannot be solved on phone and he has to send a representative to my place to replace the hard disk. I LOST ALL MY DATA.

                          And still the customer care executive could not explain what the problem was, as he wasn’t sure. Next day a technician came and replaced the hard disk. As soon as he left the place the machine again stopped working. Next day I again called customer care. Once again it took almost 2 hours to convince them that this issue cannot be solved on phone and they again sent their technician next to next day. This time he replaced the hard disk and RAM as well. The machine worked for 2 days and again stopped working.

                          I again mailed back to inform all your representatives. But none of them turned up.

                          After so much mental harassment they again were not concern about the problem. Only after a long debate and coercing the dell executive now says that you will replace the system. But they would not give me the original model I had since dell had stop making that model, nevertheless they had refused me to provide me with the machine that had the features from the model that I bought and neither are they ready to compensate those feature for anything.

                          DELL has already given me two defected machines. Now, I have no trust on this brand. And have no trust on their services either.

                          I don’t think that DELL ever gave me new machine. Both the machines were some second hand laptops. I couldn’t use those laptops for more than 2 weeks,

                          I’ve also mailed them a notice that I would go legal if they do not either provide me with the same machine or refund me back my money. Even to the notice they had plainly replied that they cant help me and they cant provide me with the machine having those features.

                          its been six months that i had spended money but have not received any sorted benefit from it. Dell should either provide me with a machine that has got all the freatures for which i spent money or they should refund me back.

                          DELL STUDIO NOTEBOOK — DELAYED IN SOLVING PROBLEM

                          Dear sir,

                          well iam a dell costumer, i bought a dell studio laptop from singapore and now i am facing problem with disc dvd drive and i have called dell costumer service and told my whole problem and i gt rply to download some softwares and i had download but problem not solved, i have told that if this will not work my dvd drive will replace by technician, but after i have called about 13-14 times but nobody is repling i have to wait for about 30 minute each call and getting reply all technicians are busy.then i have registered my complaint to dell office at nehru palace, delhi, then they told me to transfer international warranty to india when i asked procedure they told me tocall costumer care again i told them that i am not getting any reply from them, i requested them to do favour and solve my problem but they didnt help.

                          that would be really annoying, and i hope that wont happen to me although i couldnt be sure of it... i just purchased the 1555 and right from the start it had its problems, it was lagging quite frequently ( as in programs werent loading properly and windows was not loging in properly and would take 5 - 10 mins to load up) and it progressively got worse over the 5 days so far i have had it... i though maybe i should just do a disk defrag... couldnt hurt right??? wrong... the harddisk found some fault and decided to crash on me ... and now i cant get past this stupid startup repair screen where it gets half way through and stops for 10 mins before telling me that i need to contact someone to find out if my harddisk is faulty... i have only had this thing for 5 days and already it is falling to bits!!! i am going to go into their store/warehouse and see if i can get a replacement harddisk *wish me luck* oh for anyone out there do you have any advice or have you seen this problem before??? please help me i NEED this laptop for tafe... i am going to be a system administrator and i need it to do my work and assessments...

                          Dell Studio 15 Model No.1555 — Replacement of Product

                          Dear Sir,
                          I purchaseed the above named product last month on i.e. 27th of July, 2009.On reaching home I noticed that the laptop was not being charged through the adopter properly.The problem was immediately brought to the notice of the company.The company sent another adopter in replacement but the problem remained the same.Again the issue was taken up with the technical support wing there at Banglore.The company sent new mother board and tried through there local engineer to eradicate the probled but all in vain.On this the attending Technical Support Manager Mr. Ankur at Bangalore with due apology asked for another try and managed to ship new i. e.third MB, Fourth Adopter and second HDD on14.08.09.The local service engineers tried their level best to solve the problem by replacing every part of the laptop but failed miserablly.As per promise Mr Ankur after long deliberation with service engineer agreed to go for replacement and told that it may take 15-20 days.Now i.e.17.08.09 somebody from Bangalore told that first they will take the laptop underquestion back and then only after one or two months the new laptop will be sent.It is height of non sense on the part of the company to ask for collection of the product without replacement which is not possible because laptop is the prerequisite for an engineering student. He cannot stay in the uniersity without laptop even for a single day as per the rules of the university.In veiw of this situation may I take liberty to request the custodian executives of the company to kindly intervene for getting my problem redresed at the earliest with in a week or so failing which I shall be left with no option except to knock the doors of Consumers' Protection Forum for getting juctice and compensation for irreparable mental injury caused by the company and the uncivilised behaviour of the attending supervisors at the Bangalore office who made me to lodge this complaint.An early response is expected and shall be highly appreciated but not later than a week.

                          Dell Studio 15 — poor service

                          I purchased dell studio 15 laptop on 14.01.2009. Since then it is often giving troubles. I lodged my 2nd complaint one month back
                          [protected] with dell customer cell but their engineers could not repair it fully and till today it cannot be used. In my these 2 complaints almost all parts had to be replaced hence I think the dell co. has given me the defective product and I protest this. I urge upon the company to replace my present laptop with totally new laptop of the same model.

                          Dell Studio 1530 laptop — Poor parts

                          I had purchased a dell studio laptop 1530 in august 2008. It had a warranty of one year. Just after one year completed,problems started. It's battery suddenly discharged and is not charging up. I am running it at power only since then. It's DVD writer stopped working. The sound system also sometimes stops working,though normally it works. It's screen is putting a lot of stress on my eyes. I am wondering how low can dell go on it's quality?

                          Dell Studio 15 — Poor product and highly poor service

                          I Have been using dell studio 1555 for a year and a half now...the experience has been highly unpleasant... I think I should my experience now..so that other buyers could learn something

                          1. Problem with sound: Motherboard replaced

                          The problem started within 10 days I bought my laptop - the first time I plugged in my earphones. The Speakers stopped working after I plugged out my ear phones. I didn't quite understand what to do...so I had contacted dell technical support...I was asked to do a few diagnostic tests using "Dell Drivers and Utilities" disc, and found that the speakers were working fine in diagnostic test, but weren't working in windows. so I was asked to format and install my windows and install the sound drivers.. I did that religiously - not once or twice but 10 times and was even asked to format my recovery partition. I was directed to a different tech support executive and was asked to do the same thing again and again..Finally it got soo frustrating that I had the technical support executive on hold till I got my system formatted and installed my OS and the sound drivers. This still didn't solve my problem. I was refused when I asked for a replacement since the speakers were working in diagnostic tests. I finally had to browse the net and understand that IDT audio has something called jack sensing and explain it to the tech support executive and fight for my replacement. This took me 15 days - the whole of my christmas and new year vacation was ruined.

                          2. System over-heating : Motherboard ad heat sink replaced

                          I was happy that my replacement was finally accepted. But, it didn't last long. The system started heating up and turned off within half an hour after the new mother board was installed. man..a new problem again.. and once again a fight with the customer care. This took me another 3 days and had to postpone a trip of mine. Finally my motherboard and heat sink was replaced.

                          3. MMC card reader stopped working:

                          Within a month after my above replacement, my MMC card reader stopped working. This time, I didn't have the patience to fight with the customer care again so never contacted them.

                          4. Battery dead at 10th month:

                          The instance which got me most irritated. I had purchased my laptop from a retail outlet and it so happened that the retailer had it in hold for 2 months. The batteries were dead on friday evening. since dell does not work on saturday and sunday, I called for a replacement on Monday for a replacement. But, I was told that the system is past an year, and they would not consider the replacement. and the 1 year warranty just got over the day before. But, the dell website says that my 1 year limited warranty was on till 2 more months. The customer care agent asked why I had not contacted on saturday or sunday and was told that dell works on saturday and sunday as well... oh my god...what a lie. What a gross response from a company like dell. This got me fired up and had to speak to higer authorities and had to fight for a new battery and MMC card reader again and finally got my replacement. I later got to know from all of friends using dell studio that they faced similar problem too - Battery dead within an year.

                          5. 3 months after the expiry of my warranty: CD drive and system sub-woofer stopped working

                          These were the issues which got me fired up to post such a big message on the community. I wouldn't hesitate to write to any of the higher officials as well. The quality of dell is highly deteriorating. As of me I have already stopped recommending dell to others. I just don't know what else can go wrong with a laptop. Adding to the frustration is the fact that Dell replaces the malfunctioning parts not with new ones, but with refurbished ones. If dell continues with such poor service, I frankly i see that these could be the end of bright days for dell.

                          Dell Studio 15 — Non Delivery of Configured Item

                          Hi,

                          I had ordered a Dell Studio 15 laptop with Backlit Keyboard configuration(which costs extra) in month of September 2010 from a "Dell Exclusive Store" located at Swastik Cross Roads, Ahmedabad. It was delivered to my house in month of Oct 2010 and was received by my family member since I was not in the city. However, I got to check the configurations when I returned to my house in month of December 2010. I checked it and found that the laptop which was delivered to me was not having backlit keyboard. I have a printout of the order which I got from the store from where I ordered the laptop, in which Backlit Keyborad is clearly mentioned. However, the invoice which they have delivered me with the laptop does not have backlit keyborad mentioned on it. I have been contacting both the store and dell customer care since Dec 2010 but both are unresponsive. Infact, the customer care people now dont respond to my call once they register my order/service/invoice no. and keep me on hold. My Service Tag No. is BWYX6BS.

                          This is frustrating. Let me know what can be done in this case.

                          i had recently got dell studio15 15" for the period of time it was got 4 an 3 months then all the problems start arising, my lappy had a DVD problem when i use to insert my disc it use to get stuck & not even get back out easily & there after my LCD light got sum problem light start flickering at d angle of 90* & i use to any able 2 see when i use to keep d angle of 120* or more & then after all battery problem arise, den wifi connectivity has sum thing else problem...[censored] dis dell..they say nothing is easy as dell... but i would say nothing is crab/worst as dell..i m still facing d problem..no5thing happen gud with customer care..
                          I purchased a Studio 15 - 1555 in the summer of 2010...it was to arrive in 5 days...2 months later i received it. It has been nothing but problems since receiving it. I am not computer savvy...I am 70 yrs old, disabled, can only be on the computer a short time...it shuts down for no reason...curser jumps all over in email and WORD when trying to correspond putting words and sentences where they don't belong...was told I needed another 'program' "System Mechanic" so they stuck me another $100+ for that...now it has even more problems...takes 5 to 10 minutes to boot when I start...giving time for me to make coffee, shower and dress, then MAYBE it works. Have spent numerous hours online with their 'support' trying to get it fixed...last time 3 hours...time before that 5 HOURS online with someone in India who I couldn't understand and they couldn't understand me. The last time I received and email, I was told to find a friend who could help fix it...well NOT...I paid for the extended warranty and they tell me to fix it...I will NEVER purchase another Dell product...this is after 1-1/2 years...my first computer...a Compaq lasted 5 years with no problems...then I upgraded to Dell with a laptop which lasted about 2 years when the light in the monitor went out...so, like a fool, I purchased the one I have now...I guess they figure if they wait long enough, with my disabilities (seizures which are affected by the computer if I spend too long on it) I'll die and they will be off the hook...I could go on and on about all of the problems, but I have to sign off now as I've spent too much time online and I'll seizure...right now the screen is flashing numerous pictures that I don't know where they are coming from or why. Adios!

                          DELL — Faulty Laptop, Poor Service

                          HI. I purchased my Dell XPS 15 laptop in Feb 2011. I'm an architecture student and therefore needed a laptop with good configuration. I upgraded from their basic configuration to suit my needs and got myself a fully loaded Dell laptop.

                          It ran perfectly for the first month. No hangs, No issues. Then, in the next couple of months, it started giving problems. It became super slow, it kept hanging during minimal usage and it crashed from time to time.

                          After a few calls and arguments, dell decided to replace my parts. They replaced the motherboard and hardisk.

                          And so it ran fine for a couple of months when again the same thing happened. This time i decided to escalate the issue. I wrote to their Bangalore head office and fought with almost everyone. Finally, they said that they would not send me a new laptop, but what they could do is test it in their Bangalore facility.
                          So it was sent to bangalore for testing for a month, without giving me a replacement for the duration.

                          A month later, it was concluded that the laptop is fine and it has no issues. They replaced parts and formatted it and gave it back.

                          And so it ran well for a month or so, when all of a sudden it crashed. I called dell and they said that the hard disk had crashed. I lost all my data and they put in a new hard disk.

                          Since then, every 1-2months, my computer crashes and they very quickly come to replace my hard disk. I got really frustarted at losing my data every now and then, specially when its work related.

                          I fought with them saying instead of giving me new hard disks every couple of months, why dont u just give a normally functioning computer. But they are adamant at replacing parts.

                          So it last crashed in DECEMBER 2011, and i was told that if this happens again, they will consider replacement. I agreed.

                          My warranty expired in JANUARY and i decided to upgrade for another year, because i knew that it will happen again.

                          Now barely 1 month later, it happened again yesterday, while just browsing the net. I called and talked to management and they said that if it happens again, they will consider replacement. All over again.

                          I said i dont want to hear all of that and just want my replacement.

                          Please help me with this. I've tried all I can but have got no result. I either want my money back or a brand new laptop that actually is worth the money i spent.

                            DELL Studio 14 — Keyboard/mouse not functioning

                            I had purchsed a Dell Studio Laptop in May, 2009. Within 2 months of its use, the keybaord is not functioning properly and the mouse is also not working.
                            I had brought the same to the notice of Dell in Augsut 2009, however only response i am getting is that it will be rectified soon.
                            I am a student and currently studying at XLRI Jamshedpur. This is hampering my studies( Laptop is used frequently). Needless to say, the laptop is under UNIT REPLACEMENT Warranty.

                              i have purchased my dell-14 on 14 june 2009.within a week its charger stopped working. i hav been trying since then o n the caustomer care number of dell but it is not responding. most of the times it is busy. i m fed up after trying it several hours thousand times. pleae do help me... i want it to be replaced as soon as possible.my work is getting badly suffered.

                              Dell Studio 14 Laptop — DELL- Pathetic customer service

                              Hello,

                              I have placed an order for Dell Studio Laptop through Kay Kay overseas corporation, Dell store in [protected]@Mulund on 18th Sept and payed in cash (IRN[protected]. I received a call informing that dell has stopped production of dell studio 14 laptops and Customer has an option to cancel the order or upgrade.

                              I tried reaching customer care more that 4 times but have no able to locate any soul who could clarify my queries or help me with how to proceed further. I wish dell could discipline those people sitting in their customer service department and teach them some etiquette's.

                              Could anybody please redirect me to a proper channel to resolve my problem?

                              i also face prob after 4-5 months buying studio. i m from india. and dell india replaced my charger.

                              Dell Studio 14 Laptop — Refusal of hardware replacement within warranty

                              I have a DELL Studio 14 laptop which I bought in January 2010 and the initial warranty holds till January 2011.

                              Recently, there was some issue in the power adapter, so they replaced it. The engineer which came to replace the adapter told me that the connector to which the adapter connects in the laptop is broken.

                              Since, my laptop warranty still holds, so I should get it replaced, since its a costly part of around 6000 Indian Rupees.

                              But, when I called DELL technical support, they say that its a usage issue hardware problem, hence they will not replace the part.

                              I have a few questions for DELL:

                              Do you guys fix hardware issues for brand new and untouched laptops?

                              Whats the use of the warranty, if you expect the laptop to not to be used you ?

                              Dell — Battery does not give power back up

                              After giving the full charge the battery, the laptop is running max. 15 min. without out power. Please replace battery asap.

                                My name is Gurpreet. I'm an ex-employee of DELL International Services, Gurgaon. I had filed for my PF back in the month of March and according to the official body handling the accounts in Dell, he had filed for the same with the PF Office, Bangalore in April itself.

                                When i dial the numbers for the PF office, they are out of service and when i write mails to "The Commisioner" for the Regional Office, i dont see any replies coming.

                                  Dear Sir/Ma'am,
                                  I recently purchased Dell Studio 14", i placed order at Dell, Croma, Hadapsar, Pune. Mr. Mohsin Salim (Rep Code: - BAZA2AAG) helped me for the same. He promised me that i will get a Bluetooth Mouse with the Laptop in offer, but when the Laptop arrived it was having simple laser mouse instead of Blue tooth mouse. Because of that offer only i booked Dell, else i would have gone for some other laptop. Before placing the order, I also got a call from Mr. Dipan V Damani, Inside Sales Account Manager – Dell India Private Limited, Banglore. He asked me to place order with him because the Dell, Croma, pune, will not be able to give Bluetooth mouse offer, only he can give. Then i confirmed with mohsin and he gave me in writing on order confirmation form that i will receive a Bluetooth mouse, along with the noise isolation ear bud. The Ear bud has arrived but the mouse is simple one, not blue tooth mouse. I have emails of Mr. Damani's offer and copy of Mr. Mohsin's Order confirmation letter. Sir please help me know why dell is not giving the promises even if it is given in writing. I mailed and compalined to local outlet and on Dell website but they are not even responding to mails. Even after spending Rs. 46, 000, i am not able to use the Laptop.

                                    Last August 8th, I purchased a refurbished Dell Inspiron following an email from Dell about great discounts on refurbished laptops. We received the laptop and were very pleased. After about 6 months, I began to notice problems with the touchpad, sometimes under responsive and sometimes over responsive.
                                    When I contacted customer service, I was told that their records on this computer indicated that it was owned by someone else and could not assist me or give me any specific information. They could only help me if I had the ownership name which I did not and they would not give me. I finally was able to find someone who first understood the problem and wanted to help enough to address the issue...or so I thought. I was later told that I could not get warranty assistance because the system was originally sold outside of the United States! A few months later when ac adapter problems started I found out that the problem had not been fixed but the woman was able to make the changes and I was able (last week) to get the ac adapter replaced which initially worked but never charged to 100%. I was also sold an upgrade on the warranty told that I could get 5 years for $256 which was just too good to pass up. Today I found out that that was a mistake and the warranty I bought not only expires in July 2013 instead of 2014, but does not start until 2011 instead of now! The want to refund my money and sell me the warranty as a much higher price.

                                    Main complaint is that Dell should wipe the ownership records off any computer before they sell them so that the ownership issue is never a problem. Second, any deals that dell customer service people give should be honored.

                                      I writing this complaint after being patient for almost six months now that I have applied for my PF claims.

                                      I applied for the PF in the month of Feb'09 and I got a notification from my previous organisation (DELL) that they had sent all the forms by April and this is now July running and still no signs of any information.

                                      It's a kind request to you to help me in getting the PF. I am running out of patience now as I dont expect any firm to take this long to process any request.

                                      My PF settlement forms 10c & 19 were submitted to PF Office at Raja Ram Mohan Roy Road, Banglore.She had resigned from Dell on Nov 2008.
                                      She had submitted all papers for the PF.Its been 8 months and she have not yet received the Provident Fund so far. Please let me know the status.
