Doctors seem lost. They don't seem like they care about the patients or know about anything that is happening with them.
Security guards need to learn manner and tone in which they talk (They seem to be hired from rowdy villages)
Management staff cant resolve any issue - all they do is contact this person, contact that person. Just give a runaround to the patient's attendants.
The bathrooms are in pathetic state. Dirty, smelly, and no toilet roll or tissue paper. (For a hospital that is disgusting)
Everyone i have come across seems to avoid the problem and they either argue or give a runaround.
Max hospital is far superior that fortis in vasant kunj.
I will never recommend fortis to anyone even this is the last hospital left!

    Dear Sir,

Apologies for the inconvenience caused. Please share your contact details, so as to look into this matter.

    Thanks
I visit Fortis Hospital Mohali on 2nd sept 2017. Being a patient i am misguided and misbehaved by one of your security guard of MSOT whose name is Charan Singh. I request you to take strict action on time. He even doesn't has any sense to talk with patients and rebukes badly.

Hi before 2 days my father was admitted in fortis in ward no. 1 and the staff was working there is not knowledegeable and uneducated and non cooperative. For every task we have to asked nurse again and again but they always said we don't know and we have to talked doctor. But when we ask them again than their is same revert we will talked doctor.

And we have processes our claim through tpa but again they theft our money from tpa. It's a criminal activity which hospital doing with his patients. On discharge tpa processed our final amount but in billing they consider it less (5k).

In totality doctor's are very good but staff is very poor and hospital is charging very high rates and theft our tpa insurance money.

This is my feedback for the services and care that was received by my parents and me at fortis, mulund when they were hospitalized.

Patient id no.513142-jacob george hospitalized from 20 july 2017
Patient id no.266641-kunjamma george hospitalized from 18 july 2017

Both were admitted to the isolation ward on account of h1n1 infection.
Both are senior citizens living on their pensions and have no medical insurance. So their entire treatment is paid for by cash.
All these details were provided at the time of admission itself hence i expected a little empathy and discretion towards them at your hospital.

My mother was first hospitalized under the care of dr. Pradeep shah. She has been his patient since 4 years (And has previously been hospitalized thrice at fortis). At first she was kept in a semi private room costing approx rs. 3800/- per day. Dr. Shah's visiting charges at that room was rs.1000/- within a day of being there, as per hospital protocol (So i was told) she was tested for swine flu. Even before the test results came through she was shifted to the isolation ward on 5th floor. Room charges - rs.5500/- per day. Dr. Shah's charges here are rs. 1200/-. Why does the room category decide the doctor's consultation charges?

My father is an alzheimer patient, which was mentioned to your doctors as well as nursing staff. He gets more difficult to manage when my mother takes ill. So here is a scenario, where i, as a single person had to run between the house, managing my father and my hospitalized mother. Since it is an isolation ward, it would be insane to drag relatives and friends to assist me. I had to request doctors, residents, and nurses to provide me with the prevention medication to be able to sit in this ward without catching the illness myself. Even that prescription was obtained after running between the emergency room and chasing after the residents, nurses and doctors on 5th floor. Doesn't the hospital have a protocol to provide this medication to the patient's relative (S) who is attending to the patient themselves? Why are there so many precautionary notes put all over 5th floor if there is no such requirement against this contracting this illness? Why does the patient's caretaker have to run around for a vaccine or preventive medicine? If it is hospital policy to necessarily have a family member even in an isolation ward, doesn't the hospital require a proper system of providing prevention medication to the caretaker? Who owns the responsibility if there is a slip up and the caretaker gets infected?

I know this isn't your concern but the reason i am raising this point is to highlight the importance of having some sort of support staff (Yes even for contagious diseases) provided by the hospital (Surely at a cost, because i know nothing is free at fortis) to assist such families. I had to request nurses and ward boys to keep an eye on my mother for 10 minutes so that i could get a cup of water or tea from the canteen.

Two days later even my father had to be hospitalized for the same illness and add to it his alzheimer's situation which was clearly mentioned to your staff when he was admitted at fortis on the night of 18th july. He is under dr. Benny's treatment since 2014.
This was the nightmare that i was dealing at your hospital. All your staff were sensitized about my father's condition but unfortunately, none could empathise with the situation. No, i am not saying that your staff didn't do their job. But i would like to state that they did just their job. More so because they were short staffed and had to fend for themselves within their working hours their services were more mechanical.

Let me elaborate on this, 5-6 nurses cannot handle a floor with 10-15 odd rooms. 1 ward boy and 1 ward girl are insufficient to cater to the needs of all patients admitted to that particular floor. So there was a situation where my mother (Admitted) in room 519 was helping herself out of the bed to go to the washroom, to find the spittoon, to stay awake till the drip/saline attached to her hand was removed, lest the nurses forget to check on time, because i can safely say that it would take anything between 10-15 minutes after the bell was pressed, for anybody to even check the patient. Since my father could not be left alone even for a minute, my hospitalized 74 year old mother was fending for her own self in your big fancy hospital facility. They were paying for their ailment through their teeth from their hard-earned pension but yet could not get adequate care and attention. Can you see the irony of what i am stating to you ms. Lal? I sincerely hope you do!!

Now at my father's room (520, thankfully, got the adjacent room) getting a ward boy for his washroom requirements was always a struggle. As a result of which most of the times (Especially on the first two days of him being hospitalized) my father wet himself on the bed itself. Thereafter, the nurse provided a rubber sheet kind of thing to avoid soiling the bed cover. But the waiting time between pressing the call button and getting the ward boy was always a minimum 10 -15 minute wait. The only saving grace in this whole messed up scenario was a ward boy by the name of ashok (God bless him). He understood my predicament and tried to rush as soon as possible to my father's side. And the best part of his service was he did his job with a lot of patience and a smile, a genuine and concerned smile!! Can you comprehend how heartening it is to see such service at a hospital?

In the midst of all this, i was called atleast thrice or four times by your billing desk to make part payment, to get the bill estimate etc. Inspite of mentioning to all your office and nursing staff about my predicament (Not being able to leave my father alone) i was expected to visit your billing and payment section within their stipulated timings. How can a person do that in this scenario? Even meeting the treating doctor (Since they have no fixed time) was next to impossible. I met my mother's treating doctor on the third day of her hospitalization. That too after rushing to the hospital and tracking him to the icu floor. It becomes humanly impossible for a relative to handle all these issues faced at your hospital whilst caring for the sick person. I hope you are able to understand the depth of my helplessness and frustration.

On the day of my mother's discharge (She had met her doctor alone and her discharge papers was signed without me being able to meet him before discharge. This, inspite of me being in the adjacent room when he arrived for his rounds and the nurses being informed about my availability in my father's room) anyways, i get that at fortis the doctors and nurses and every person are extremely pressed for time and their time is o[censored]tmost importance. Its just the patient who has to accept the step motherly treatment and pay money for it.

Anyways, the bill handed over to me had a number of illogical costs, n95 masks (30 nos) where as my reliever and me would have used maximum 4 during our entire stay at fortis. My mother was given a rubber sheet only on day 1 but we were charged for 4 f them. The doctor had not visited on the discharge day yet i was billed for the same. When i highlighted all these discrepancies to the nurse in charge, the records were cross-checked and rectifications were made. It made me wonder about what if i had not checked the bill? Though the nurse mentioned that it is the patient who pays for the masks used by anyone who enters the patient's room (Including helper staff and food delivery personnel) i found it extremely strange that a private hospital would charge a patient for the masks, gloves and even the daily consumables (Ie, phenoyl, dettol handwash, food containers etc., i am assuming) used to clean the patient's room daily. It is next to impossible to check on the medication and other medical items use during the course of treatment, but i fear how much of truth is there in that billing too. Its not a wonder that the medical profession in our country are losing their respect and credibility.

The same discrepancies were found in my father's settlement bill.in addition to all that there was a sum of rs.200/- for storing my parents medical records, another rs.100/-billed towards fortis charity fund. who decides if they a patient wants to give charity? Why does the patient have to pay for storing his records with the hospital? Are you expecting senior citizens paying cash (Out of their pension) to fund your charity without even asking them? How many innocent unaware people are robbed in this manner by your management? how can a lay person feel safe and assured at your facility when this is like daylight robbery? Imagine the repercussions if such patient experiences get published on social networking sites. I

I am extremely disgruntled by our experience at fortis, mulund. Maybe i expected better and higher medical ethics in such a highly acclaimed medical facility. Hope this email is received in the right manner and suitable corrective actions are initiated.

Look forward to hearing favourably from you at the earliest.

On 4th june 2017 at midnight 2.00 a. M, my grandmother got unconscious and we took her to fortis hospital, rajaji nagar, bangalore. The first word by the receptionist was "you have capacity to pay". If a patient is dying, then the doctor & hospital have any ethics, humanity or not. Then they should not take any "hypocrite oath".

And when we entered fortis hospital at 2.30 a. M, she got a brain stroke, and the hospital staff informed doctor mr. Girish immediately, but he came at 12.00 p. M only. By the time it was too delay for a stroke for any remedy.

And moreover any hospitals, those who are having icu should have standards or not? In fortis hospital, they watch cricket matches in icu, having non - veg food in icu, speaking over phones, etc., there is so much of chaos and noise, that patient cannot even take rest.

My grandmother's lower body is not moving due to impact of stroke and fortis hospital is responsible for this, so we kindly request you to take action against fortis hospital and compensate us for the sufferings of grandmother.

Worst hospital and doctors, if any one wants to visit please go to Fortis Hospitals. The patient will die but they will not treat. Because they are only for money.

I think so, the doctors who are working there must have taken duplicate degrees, they are not genuine.

                Hi,
I admitted my mother 2 days back, initially a hospital copy was provided stating 10, 000-12, 000/- would be the rough bill amount. The moment they got to know i have an insurance, they started doing unnecessary tests. Few doctors simply came in name of consultations (Around 8 doctors visited).in total they charged us 23, 000/- for a day and half. I had insurance approval of only 17, 000 rs and had to bare the remaining 6, 000 from my pocket.
They are cheating innocent people many had same concerns in counters, but most of them literally scolded and cursed them pay the amount and go away. This guys are shameless in collecting the money. It is really horrible, please be careful while admitting to this hospital (Fortis nagarbhavi, bangalore)

                  Hello,

My father was admitted for Angiography followed by Plasty. Fortis before discharging him took Rs 10000 from us as deposit incase insurance company delays payment. After the amount was settled by insurance these guys did not refund the complete amount and have not attended to my complaint in person (twice) nor emails (almost over 5) nor phone calls (almost over 10). Their Head of billing is continuously giving false promises on getting back which they havent done for over 15 days since amount is settled by Insurance.

Moreover the insurance company in its letter clearly mentioned they hospital should be charging only 1616 to the patient and the rest 9269 is the hospital discount. These guys have taken over 10885 over and above the deposit and mentioned that insurance company is not aware and we will discuss with them.

They have till date not written or communicated anything with us nor with insurance company though i have asked them to give this to me in writting.

STRICT action needs to be taken against such Hospitals who ONLY know how to LOOT people. As per their policies if you dont pay on time they donot discharge your patient but what is the penalty for such misbehaviour or harrasment of patients and their family members??

Government relaxing such fraudsters boosts their morale to treat patients and their families as per their will. I will shortly write this also to the PM office.

I am farida alimova from tashkent, uzbekistan. I've gone to the hospital for surgery in early november 2016 to dr. Randeer wadhawan, because of my extended colon. But in the hospital, he rejected to do surgery, although in my appointment to this doctor in tashkent he promised to do surgery. When i've been in hospital he changed his mind, and start to lie me that my colon is not extended i think because he is not qualified enough to make complicated surgery. Moreover, they didn't give me my laparoscopy film, because i didn't have a flash drive to make me a copy of it. After my numerous demands and complaints, they send me cd disk in 3 months after my discharge, but it wasn't readable. They also charged me for translator service, although i did not need any an interpreter because my english is good and i communicated with doctors and nurses in the hospital by myself.
Recently, i've filed a complaint to that hospital website and asked my laparoscopy film again, but they don't want to send me that report and deceive me, that they've given me all my reports with ctscan images and laparoscopy film, in the hospital when they discharged me and they claim allegedly that they also sent all these reports to my email. But there is not any prove. This is all an impudent lie because when i've asked to forward me again all that reports if it has been sent to my email, i didn't get any respond.
But i can prove with attaching my colon x-ray and sms correspondence (In the russian language) with a representative of this hospital in tashkent.

Filed complaint in their portal and requested for call back. . nothing. What kind of customer service is this. You do jot start treatment untill person deposit the asked amount and now when it's the time to return, you are behaving like deaf.

My father mr. Jitendra nath... Another victim of medical negligence at fortis hospital, noida!!
We don't want others to suffer the same fate as did my father & eventually my family.
My father had a medical history of bp, diabetes & had undergone a bypass surgery some 6 years back but was hale & hearty at the age of 72. He went to fortis hospital for gall bladder removal and was operated by dr. Kapil kochar on 12th of april and got discharged on the 14th of april 2017 without any specific medical advice.
After 2 days, he again developed severe pain in his abdomen and had high fever. We took him to see dr. Kochar again on 17th of april 2017. Dr. Kochar got him examined through a junior doctor who advised him to take crocin saying that it was just a viral fever. However, the fever continued & his condition deteriorated even further.
We again took him to see dr. Kochar on the 21st of april 2017. This time dr. Kochar admitted him immediately & sounded an alarm bell and told us my father will have to undergo a major abdominal surgery for some infection. He was again operated on the 23rd of april 2017 and some 290 gm. Pus was drained out. We were very shocked by this and asked the doctor as to why pus was formed in his body. But they brushed aside the queries made by us. Sensing that something must have gone wrong in the previous operation for removal of the gall bladder, we asked dr. Kochar to provide us with the treatment papers, video recordings and operation notes of both operations but he refused to give us any document.
My father's condition further worsened as the infection had spread throughout his body. We repeatedly asked dr. Kochar and the management of the hospital as to reason for the infection but they did not explain us anything. They used to ignore our queries in a very unprofessional manner & would always ask us to refer the other department for clarity.
Ultimately my father breathed his last on the 03rd of may 2017 in fortis hospital. His untimely death was only because of the negligence shown in performing the operation by dr. Kochar and no cooperation shown by the management of fortis hospital.
Please beware of this doctor & the hospital who couldn't even handle a minor gall bladder surgery!!

Re.: Sarthak Madan File No 305074

                            Dear Simrat,

We would seek your response to following:
Sarthak madan was brought to Fortis Mohali emergency on 22/05/17 at 7: 00 PM for treatment of dislocation of shoulder under huge pain.
We were made to wait for 2 hrs in emergency under the pretext “doctor is coming in 20-30 min.” How such delay in emergency is justified.
After waiting for 2 hrs patient was given pain killer.
Dr Kapila visited at around 9: 00 PM and reduced shoulder to normal position in 2 min.
We were charged Rs 9032 and out of this Rs 5000 was charged for this process.
Why we were never told before procedure about such abnormal charges and allowing us the choice for opt out.
Why neither prior information nor any Justification for these unreasonable charges was given.
Pl do note the present condition of patient was due to lack of proper treatment on 28th May 2011 by your resident doctor, when Sarthak madan was brought to your hospital after accident. As per learned opinion of doctors it Was must to put shoulder immobilizer at that stage for proper recovery as standard procedure followed in such cases to avoid present condition of patient.
This has caused agony, pain and financial losses to us..
You are liable to an explanation and reply to this.

The hospital is very disorganised. People working there are clueless about where will they get the reports. We had our mothers EEG done on 12 may & still we have not got the reports. Each time we call the staff they keep on transferring the phone calls saying this is not our department. Even after 12 days i have still not got my report after spending 4000rs for EEG. Pathetic service as well as cold response from the staff

                                  Dear sir,
I am writing to let you know the pathetic customer service i received at your "world class" hospital. I was admitted to fortis hospital shalimar bagh on 3/5/17 for a back surgery. I applied for a claim (Claim no.[protected] through the tpa office against the bill (No. 1003/17/i/cr/0000884) raised by your hospital. Following are the horrific counts of harassment i faced while being admitted at your hospital:

                                  1. The claim amount which was passed was nowhere near the amount which was promised by the counsellor while making an estimate prior to patient admission. The counsellor advised us that the total bill would be around 51, 000inr of which the policy would pay about 40, 000inr, while, we would have to bear around 10, 000-11, 000inr. This was agreeable to us. However, the actual billed amount was 55, 794/- out of which the insurance company only passed a claim of 21, 885/-!! I asked repeatedly for the bifurcation of the passed amount, but no one, neither from the hospital, nor from the insurance company were able or willing to provide it. On what basis do you give the false and misleading counselling to the patient?? Why even indulge in estimation if you can not estimate any amount correctly??

                                  2. Out of the 21, 885/- which was passed, the hospital charged me an excess of 5, 187/- for no reason and forced me to pay up that amount. When asked about the details of these excess amount for, i was told that this is the amount which the insurance company would give to the hospital. They call it mou discount and i came to know that this is an agreement between fortis hospitals and e-meditek.
How is that my problem?? My insurance company passed a claim of 21, 885/- and writes in black and white that the complete amount (21, 885/-) is to be set-off against settling the bill. After arguing for more than 3 hours with your tpa head dr. Raza haider, and urging him repeatedly to do what is right and legally binding, i felt a total sense of helplessness over the complete lack of empathy on hospital's part. Even though the matter of your hospital's deal with e-meditek does not concern me, i was forced to pay up the amount for obtaining discharge permission.

                                  3. I tried reaching out to the so called "patient welfare" only to find all relevant persons on leave and the two so-called "welfare executives" just sitting there passing their time on the pc and totally unable to help a harassed patient. They tried to avoid the situation by hiding behind their powerlessness instead of helping in any sort. Moreover, they did not share any contact details to me for talking to any senior management. I was shocked by this lack of transparency, which in today's time, is not even present in govt. Hospitals, let alone a brand like fortis!!
Noting the numbers from the cash counter, i tried calling everyone from the duty manager to the medical director. No one picked up their phone inspite of me calling their mobiles at least 15 times!!! I wonder if the hospital just puts out dummy numbers.

This is an absolute rubbish of a customer service with zero regards to patient welfare. This is also a pure case of extortion and patient harassment and i would be happy to take up the issue legally.

                                  Warmest regards,
                                  Sunil kumar goel

Inhumanly Shameless Doctors who are a disgrace to mankind as a whole.

Money is all that they care for and they care a damn about the human life's or emotional trauma that they cause to the parents or the children who visit this hospital.

Spineless doctors at Fortis Noida and their administrative staff are trained to create a situation of emergency and havoc to the extent that they can emotionally blackmail attendants and demand admittance to hospital with the sole objective to make money and it has nothing to do with their Oaths which they took while becoming doctors.

My son of 10 was only supposed to get a CT Scan done as per his paediatrician who isn't even on panel at Fortis Noida because of no other reason than it being close to out residence and the doctors there in the hospital especially a couple of Paediatricians on duty at Fortis Noida left no stone unturned to traumatise my son and myself for this worst experience ever out my life.

The Paediatrician ( even after complaining to the Medical Director Mr Bedi at Fortis Noida the entire hospital staff was unwilling to give me the names of those 2 paediatricians ), in there spree to achieve their sales targets both the paediatricians ensured every little bit to emotionally blackmail me and also traumatised my 10 year old son to get him admitted into the hospital for no justifiable reason. Most surprisingly even the medical emergency staff who attended to my son said that they don't have names of both the paediatricians even though I was made to pay a fee for their visit to emergency.

Dr Bedi the so called medical director of this hospital seems to be a heartless and spineless creature who is running this institution not to cure patients and to save life's but only to make money. When I raised questions and my doubts they simply vanished from the place of incidence without even giving me any reasonable answer or even the names of the Doctors who attended to my son. How and why on earth would a Medical Director of a hospital want to hide the names of the doctors even though I was made to pay a fee for them. After listening to my complaint this Dr Bedi went to investigate the situation at the emergency ward and the first words he told me after coming back was that the action would be taken against the erring doctors and as soon as I asked him about the names he simply denied to give me the names and changed his stand saying he will investigate the matter and cannot tell me the names under any circumstances.

Beware people this isn't a hospital, it's a highway to hell being run by vampires.

Even after paying them for CT Scan and that was the only requirement as per the paediatrician whom we were consulting the doctors at the hospital kept insisting for an emergency admission of my son and additional tests and also MRI without any legitimate and logical reasoning post which the situation so arised that I didn't even after making them a hefty payment of more than 7000 in total I didn't even get the CT scan done at this so called hospital where doctors aren't really doctors but can easily pass off for butchers.

While going to the Mind Cafe restaurant (from Lower ground floor to first floor)via the passenger lift, this security guard named Nilanjana yelled at me very rudely in such an unacceptable mannerless way and asked me for the card when I told her that I'm going to the restaurant only, she said that I'm not allowed to pass from here instead she told me to go all the way to upper ground floor through escalaters and then use other lift. The way this security guard person was really pathetic and unacceptable, we are paying lacs of rupees not to get such treatment from security guards. This is so shameful and not at all acceptable, I need some action against her to be taken else I'll record any future communication or any other misbehaving security person and raise a legal complaint against. I've also attached the copy of restaurant bill for reference.

I hope the best suited person would address the issue asap.

                                      Thanks
