Somehow a freecharge account has been created and associated with an old email address of mine ([protected]@shawbiz. Ca). I never created that account, and never clicked anything to verify such an account. I just noticed now that such spam was coming in. After searching for information on freecharge, it appears that some kind of fraud involving accounts that are use to recharge the minutes on mobile phones is being perpetuated with through them, possibly with someone on the inside of the company being complicit. I will try to perform a password reset on their site to block the scammer's access to the account.

Complaint marked as Resolved They say they've removed my email from there system. I suggested they incorporate some kind of email verification to there system before associating an address with an account, but there has been no response regarding that. Hopefully the hole will be closed that allowed this scam in the first place.
Freecharge Payment Technologies / FreeCharge.in customer support has been notified about the posted complaint.
Yesterday I sent electric bill to WBSEB through your application Freecharges INR 4580.98.
But it has not reach to wb electric office but from my hdfc a/c it already deducted.
So please return my money to my HDFC BANK immeditely.
I will wait one day then I will bring the case to Police Station.
Please return my money & do the needful
