I had a go air flight g8-911 (Pnr: pbrlpn) from chennai to delhi on 21st feb’19, at 7:50 am in which boarding was supposed to be started on 6:50am. I reached to boarding gate no 11 at 6:55am but found no one at the gate and boarding gate was closed. There was no go-air personnel to ask. No security personnel to help me out whether i can board or not. Plane was still scheduled to take off after half an hour. Somehow, i got the go-air number of chennai airport from the airport front desk and called them. They simply said that you have missed your flight. I was helpless. I had a very urgent meeting on that day which cost me huge. There were few go-air service flaws as below which happened on that day.
- in web checkin (Evidence attached), boarding time was mentioned 6:50am. But boarding started at 6:20am (I got to know this lator). Received sms from go-air for early boarding at 11:30pm on 20th feb’19 and another sms at 5:30am on 21st feb’19.in my best sense, flyer will sleep early at night to get up early in the morning, who will expect that flight can plan early boarding, keeping the takeoff time unchanged. Only doing sms in last point of time will not work.
- even though, i got late message, i was issued the boarding pass from counter at 6:15am (Boarding time was even mentioned 6:50am, they wrote 6:15 boarding time by pen under it). Knowing the fact that boarding has started at 6:15am, they were issuing me the pass at the same time (6:15am). Even then, knowing the fact that there is huge crowd at security check, they could help me in getting the security check early so that i could get the flight. But they did not do anything. I cleared security check at 6:45am. Reached boarding gate at 6:55am and missed my flight.
What they could do to get me onboarded:
- they could tell me while issuing the boarding pass that boarding gates will close early.
- they could help me in getting my security check early.
- they could call me on my mobile knowing the fact that i am at airport and have been issued the boarding pass.
Normally boarding happens between 35min to 25min before departure but they started it 70min earlier and closed 45min earlier. And the only information given about this early schedule was through late night sms. However they could save my one day loss.
What they did:
- they issued me the same pnr (G8-911 (Pnr: pbrlpn) in same flight on next day 22nd feb’19 at free of cost.
- same thing happened again. I got message at 3:30am. How they can assume that someone from heaven will come and tell about early boarding when someone might be sleeping and will be in hurry in morning doing other important stuffs. But i was alert enough this time to check the message and reached at 5:00am at chennai airport.
- same thing happened again, 6:50am boarding time was printed in bold. This time they informed and i confirmed twice. But even, this time they wrote nothing by pen this time (Boarding pass snap attached). I asked whether it happens daily. They said, yes. If it happen daily, then they should get changed the printing of boarding time. It is quite obvious that people are tend to see the big printing in bold letter, instead of anything written by pen.
Anyway, i missed one day which loss is unrepairable. I do not know how go air will compensate this. They should understand that people go flight to save time/in case of emergency/in unavoidable circumstances. How they can be ignorent enough to leave the customer even after issuing the boarding pass. Being in a service industry, go air should respect peoples time and money. I demand compensation.
