I booked a double door godrej storewell, model-2r ivr spring blue from girnar franchisee (Franchisee code, wfx[protected] biren roy road, behala chowrasta (West), kolkata-700008, west bengal, on 30.10.2017.. I paid the price rs21, 413/- (Reupees twenty thousand four hundred thirteen only) in full in cash. I was explained by the sales person mr. Rishav kedia that i needed to to pay the full amount while booking and that i will have to wait till 05.11.2017 after which they will deliver the material to my residence. I inquired whether i will have a choice of a delivery date, since i needed to be present in my house as there is no one to receive it on my behalf. To this mr. Kedia said that the delivery department will deliver the material only after they receive assurance from me that i will be present to receive the material, on 10.11.2017 i received a call from the delivery department who asked med whether i will be at home, i requested them to postpone the delivery by one day that since i will not be at home on that day. The delivery department assured me that the material will be delivered on 11.11.2017. On 11.11.2017, i received a call from the franchisee informing me that the material cannot be delivered on that date and that i will have to wait. They also informed me that if i received the delivery after 18.11.2017 i will be getting a discount due to reduction in gst rate. To to this i agreed.
On 17.11.017, i revived a call from the franchisee that they are processing the delivery and i will be getting the material by 20.11.2017. I assured them that i will be at home to receive my much awaited godrej storewell. On 18.11.2017 i was told by the franchisee that i will be getting the material on 19.11.2017. On the morning of 18th november i received a call from the delivery department inquiring about the exact location of my residence. By afternoon when there was no sign of delivery i called up the franchisee who informed me that since it was a sunday deliveries don't take place, so i will have to wait for another day. So the delivery will take place on 20.11.2017. I preferred to skip office and stay back to receive the almirah.
On 20.11.2017 morning i again received a call from the delivery department inuring about the exact location of my residence, which i explained to them, again. They categorically said that the delivery will take place after 12 noon. After waiting for the whole day and finding no signs of delivery i again called up the delivery department. This time they said that since the printer is not working the delivery challan could not be prepared and that i should have been informed of it by the franchisee.
I called up mr rishav kedia, the sales person who attended me at the showroom. He put the blame squarely on me saying that since i was the one who postponed the delivery at the first place. I said that i have merely exercised an option which they placed before me. Exasperated, i asked him to cancel the order. He curtly refused and said that cannot be done. Dejected i said i don't need a refund, but please cancel my order. To this he said fine, ok that will be done. By now i was frustrated and said that is this the way you guys conduct busidess. Mr. Rishav kedia hollered to me and said 'jo chahe kar lijiey'.
I at last received the material on the 22.11.2017, evening. I am supposed to be delighted, but this experience has compelled me to think again before going for your products which you sell through these arrogant franchisee.
Yes, i could have resorted to 'jo chahey kar lijiey' as suggested by mr. Kedia, but i cannot stoop so low as him like a street lumpen. I urge you to take notice of the fact that at the end of the day godrej interio is loosing its goodwill (Which is not that easy i believe), because:
1) i will never use the services of girnar franchisee
2) i will dissuade and discourage my acquaintances to buy from the above mentioned franchisee, which will result a dip in the sales of your product (No matter how microscopic it may sound) in an area covering a radius of about 30 kms
3) such kind of arrogance will automatically discourage people of this area from going through a complicated paraphernalia of booking and delivery and opt for locally produced almirahs.
I know that this letter might just be treated either as just another 'negative' feedback or even as a junk mail. However, i have no complain against your product. I paid in full at the time of booking only to be a proud owner of a godrej interio product. I shared my experience just to make you aware of the ground reality. Hope you will take up this issue with the said franchisee and urge them to train mr. Kedia in customer service.
