This is the first time i placed the order with grofers. I placed the order on september 1st, 2017 at 4.37 p. M. The order id was gr[protected]. The order was scheduled to be delivered on september 2nd, 2017 between 11 a. M. To 1 p. M. On september 2nd, around 11 a. M. I called the delivery man, srikant, mobile number [protected] and checked the time of his arrival. He said he is coming and checked the delivery address, which i told. Later around 12 p. M. Someone else with mobile number [protected] called, checked the direction of address, came to our home and threw two bags at the doorstep and was ready to leave. We immediately asked him to check the items with the bill and he said he was in hurry, you check the items yourself and if anything is missing, call us, we will bring those items again. As the bags were looking smaller and a 10 kg lalitha brand hmt rice should include in that, we asked the delivery man where is the rice bag to which he said every thing is there in the two bags. By saying this, he immediately left the place without taking the customer’s signature.
We checked all the items with the bill and two items, origami toilet roll and lalitha hmt rice, were missing. At the same time we, a person saying srikant called me and told that you got extra items in your delivery bag and you need to return. I raised a question what about the missing items. He said he did not have any knowledge about the missing items. I asked him why he did not check the items with the bill. He said though he is the delivery person, but he sent some one else to deliver the goods and the person who delivered does not know the process. He said he is going to come right then and asked me to return his three 2kg ariel packs immediately. Then, i asked him about my missing items to which he said you will get refund in 24 hours to which i said he can take his three 2 kg ariel packs only after my cashback or delivering my items. He pleaded that it is very urgent that he has to delivery the three 2 kg ariel bags immediately to another customer, which i declined saying he can take them only after delivering my items or cashback.
Later i got several calls from the same person with number [protected] and one time some area manager and another time operations manager talked to me asking me to return their ariel packs and my refund will be done in 24 hours. There was a lot of argument, at first why the delivery person threw the bags and left without checking the items with the bill. No one gave a proper answer. No manager has good knowledge of english. I declined to receive refund in wallet but wanted in my bank account as i do not want to make any further transactions with grofers. The operations manager who was till then saying i will get refund then said it is difficult to get refund to bank and said he will send my items. After doing so much drama all through the day, at 5 p. M., srikant came to my home and delivered my missing items and took his three 2 kg ariel bags and took the signature and left.
Points to be noted:
1. Delivery person named srikant with mobile number [protected] did not deliver but sent some other person with mobile number [protected] who was very rude at behavior and threw the items and left without taking the signature.
2. Lot of calls were made to me through the day by srikant with number [protected] asking me to talk to area manager and operations manager, uday, all asking me to refund their three 2 kg ariel bags. So much of inconvinience caused to my old parents and me all through the day with phone calls and their arguments. All were asking their three 2 kg ariel bags and saying delivery of the missing items not possible but you will get your refund. At last, i asked them to refund my money into bank account not to my wallet to which the operations manager suddenly said, ok, you will get your items and sent the items at 5. P. M.
I am a customer of bigbasket since the past four years and this time i tried grofers for the first time and had a very bitter experence, which caused a hell of inconvenience to my parents and me.
I strongly feel something fishy with the local delivery persons and area as well as operations managers.
I request to take an immediate and powerful action against all of the above mentioned persons without any delay so that no other grofer’s customer feel pain in future.
