I had applied for an HDFC account on May 2024. Apparently, my account has been frozen because my welcome kit was not delivered or something.
I live in Noida, where I work, however had chosen Barrackpore as my branch, because it's close to where I reside.
Our apartment is being renovated, so we are currently living at a rented property. So, I genuinely shared my current rented apartment's address as my communication address - here's the thing, I am back at Noida and my mother's usually out for her office work. The verification guy apparently came to visit our address and didn't find anybody there and just casually decided to freeze my account without my concern? My mother lives at the address I had provided, so there should not be any issue with my verification. It's not possible for a person to be available at their residence 24*7 and we are new to the location as well - why not just ping the account owner in advance before the fabled visit?
If the address is that much of an issue, why not just hit me up and inform me that my address needs to be my workplace's address or whatever, instead of literally blocking my account!
I would LOVE my account to be unfrozen, because there's funds in it. When I was creating the account I was not informed about the arbitrary shenanigans of address verification or whatnot.
HDFC Bank customer support has been notified about the posted complaint.
