I just want to share my BAD experience with HDFC Bank regarding a new car loan. I booked a Tata manza car on 4th Jan 2010 from fortune motors navi mumbai for the deliveey on 24th Jan 2010. Next day, I went to CBD belapur branch and met Mr. Kaushik Das for car loan. He gave me all calculations of EMI, margin money, etc asked me for documents. I gave him all the required copy of documents and signed the application form. He told me in 2 days you loan will be approve as you are a existing corporate clients with HDFC and also using other HDFC product (FD, savings account and credit card). Next day i received text message from executive that my loan is approved and I have to sign agreement copy. I came at branch and Mr Kaushik introduced me to a office boy named Vijay (who I think is trained by executive for loans), Vijay took my sign on the agreement and also I also gave him copy of advance booking receipt which he said is required for disbursement form the bank to the dealer. Mr. Kaushik told me now the disbursement will be made within 2 days or most likely by Monday (11th Jan).
On 11th Jan, Vijay called me and asid there is problem with the dealer and sked me to change the dealer. I refused and said I have paid my booking amount and I will not change the dealer as it close to my home. I think bank executives have some commissionwith certain dealers so they push for them only.
I contacted Kaushik and he again assured that they will solve the issue and disbursment will be made by friday (15th Jan) and dealer will receive the money on Monday. Kaushik sent me a text message on Friday that cheques has been issued and dealer will receive it on Monday.
When I called Kaushik on Monday, Mr Kaushik didn't took my calls and replied with text message to contact colleague of him at different office.
I called this new guy and asked him about the disbursement, he said that he is still waiting for loan disbursement approval. I WAS SHOCKED that how Kaushik lied to me that cheque has been issued. This new guys (Santosh) asked me for one more day and next day he told me that loan can't be disbursed as Fortune motors has been blacklisted by the bank. I was totally frustrated by the time and decided to move to another bank because delivey of my car was on 3-4 days away.
Today 21st Jan, i applied for loan with another bank. Today HDFC called me and told me that disbursement approval has been made.
I still dont believe them till the dealer gets his cheque.
My Question to bank are:
1. If they were aware that Fortune motor was blacklist then why they accepted my application. I could have applied with other bank and saved 2 week.
2. Who is responsible for the harrasment i have gone through in these days bank or dealer. I think its bank!!
3. Why should not bank take strict actions againg Mr. Kaushik who made wrong committments and assurance to me.
4. Why HDFC bankk is doing promtionall event with Fortune cars on 23 and 24 th Jan, if bank is saying that dealer is black listed.
Guys please beware of the HDFC bank and specailly of the extra smart sales people who are over promising but under delivering.
OVERALL A HORRBLE AND FRUSTRATED EXPERIENCE!!!!

HDFC Credit Card — Not able to repay the money
Dear SirHdfc had given me a creditcard in last year and i had used the card and was repaying it every month but from past 4months iam not able to pay because i lost my job and iam not able to pay them back so they are coming to my house and started blasting my family and me and they have started going to my landlords house and asking them to tell me to pay the money or else they will come inside my house and take my house stuffs pls i request you to suggest me what to do .
