Undated cheques as security

HDFC Bank has taken an undated cheque for the sanctioned loan amout though I have availed only a part of it. I was asked to this just before the time of registration of the property and they have not issued a receipt yet.

Is it legally correct for HDFC to take undated cheques ? If legally correct, why is it that they are reluctant to provide a receipt?.

If legally incorrect, is there a tribunal where I can challenge...

Mentally Harassment from HDFC
