Address: Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh

Recently I had cleared the complete outstanding amount on my HSBC credit card (Nill balance) and raised the request for closer of credit cared and they gave me the reference number[protected]. They told me call after 1 week for NOC of the CC.

When I called to HSBC call center today for NOC they are saying that the card was blocked so they can not provide the NOC to me. Another thing is I had closed add-on card to this primary card 1 and half year back.

When I called on this number[protected] today, they are saying they would not provide the NOC on credit cards.
How it is possible……? I am not any defaulter and I closed it in proper way.

Please do the needful..

Thanks

HSBC / Credit Card wing promised of no annual charges applies for my credit cards when issued. But HSBC keep charging me AED 400.00 annually on each card. When I complained of the same, they told it was a system error. I really wonder that how a system error occurs only when they imply extra charges to its customers, that too annually. Why the system is not giving errors while the interest is computed and when statements are being sent. This is cheating. Every one has to be vigilant on reading their periodical account statements- I suggest.

HSBC / Credit Card — Operational Error and No Response

I hold an HSBC credit card with a balance of 75000 Rs. I had taken a balance transfer option (to pay my other C.C.) for Rs.60,000 @ 1% which was later revised to 1.25% per month interest rate. I was suppose to make payments every month in equal installments and pay the total off in full. About a week later they offered me another balance transfer option of Rs.7500 which I had accepted and it now totaled to Rs.67,500 that I owed them, to be paid in instalments.
Since the time I took this, the statement showed that I need not pay any installment pmt as I have paid in excess already and it was being adjusted. And thus, I had not made any payments for about 6 months. One day they realise that it was their mistake and said that I owed them about Rs.80.000. I explained them that it was their error and that I owed them only Rs.67,500 to be paid in installments @ 1.25% pm that they promised and also that I maintain a good credit history with all my credit cards and I dont want this mistake of their's ruin my credit rating as I was planning for a home loan in the future.
They promised me that they would take care of the mistake personally and reinstate the card, the way it was suppose to be and also that it would not affect my credit rating/payment pattern maintained usually by CIBIL(credit bureau) and that I could start making the payments afresh. In the mean while I was getting annoying calls from the collections department and they forced me to make the min payment of around Rs.2115 and Rs.383 respectively which I paid on protest.
In spite of making constant phone calls to their customer service(recorded line), they have not done what was required till date and my used balance still shows about Rs.74,900. with a break up which is not easily understood and which is very confusing(print file attached).
Kindly help me as I dont want this mistake of their's to affect me in any way. Also guide me if there is any other place I need to log a complaint at as they donot seem to be following the Banking Codes and Standards Board of India (BCSBI) that they claim to be following.

Please allow me to introduce myself my name is Michael Mason-Mahon and I am a shareholder of HSBC Plc. I am based in London yet I am a very regular visitor to India. I have represented many Indians against HSBC Bank and WON.

This is the E-mail address where you should send your full complaint to Mr Gannesh Bharaadhwaj, he is head of personal Banking in India. [protected]@hsbc.co.in If he will not help you please contact me and I will help you.

I once again attended AGM on the 27 of May 2011 where again I raised my concern about HSBC India and its behaviour towards their customers.

You may first like to go to HSBC AGM, go to questions and answers 40:11 min's in then go to Resolutions 19:02 min's in. As you will see Mr Flint could not get his facts right or was he misleading shareholders or was this just another weakness by the Chairman. The information the Chairman gave about customers complaints in India was not totally true.

      http://www.thomson-webcast.net/uk/dispatching/?event_id=eca849a680d030eb64ea1277...

The Chairman stated that is was a invidious irritation to customers when they were registered on CIBIL.
It is not an INVIDIOUS irritation, it prevents a person from borrowing from any other lender, it has a very serious impact on that person and their lives.

So did the Chairman trivialise their complaints or was he trying to belittle the complainants in India?

Is this Chairman just ignorant to what it means when a person is registered on CIBIL or did the Chairman deliberately give false and misleading information to shareholders and the AGM. ? YOU DECIDE

I did come to India last September and had a meeting with Mr Davis the CEO of HSBC India about their behaviour towards their customers.
      Kind regards

I opened an account with HSBC NRI banking. At that time I supposed to maintain balance of Rs 25000.00. After using this account only for 2 months I received following letter from bank asking me to maintain 75000 in my account. This is much more higher. This would be difficult for me to maintain. They should have informed me when I was opening the account. Now after opening account I want to close this account but I cant do it immediately as I want to use NRE account. I really don't know how this HSBC bank works. They call themselves as worlds local bank but ultimately ask account holders to maintain thrice the amount. I don't know how they can do it legally. Given below is mail sent by HSBC bank.

I hope there would be someone reading this and do something to stop such banks doing something like this.

        Dear Customer,

We would like to inform you that the HSBC India NRI Savings / Current Account eligibility criterion is being revised with effect from 1 July 2011.
To continue availing of the privileges and services as an existing NRI Savings / Current account customer of HSBC India, an Average Monthly Balance (AMB) of 75,000 (Rupees Seventy Five Thousand only) is now required to be maintained. For more details on the revised eligibility criteria, please visit our website hsbc.co.in.
Non-maintenance of the above mentioned criterion would entail a monthly service charge of 350 + applicable taxes. Please visit our website hsbc.co.in to know more about ‘Account Rules’, ‘Features and Benefits’ and ‘Tariff Schedule’ applicable to HSBC India Savings / Current Accounts.
Please contact our NRI PhoneBanking numbers listed overleaf if you require any further clarifications.
We thank you for your continued patronage and assure you of our best services always.

I sent an email requesting to decrease the minimum balance. I called several times. They did not agree. I don't know whether this is universal to everybody. Anyhow, this is outrageous amount of money for minimum balance. I am sending my closing account papers today. I hope everybody will do the same.
I'hv had the same problem. But I'm not going to give in to the banks ill treatment. I have simply closed my account. Let them suffer a loss of a customer.

During the month of July 2008 I have applied for a credit card with HSBC due to the pressure of a marketing person. But I have not received any credit card from the Bank. But they have sent SMS to me demanding some minimum amount of Rs. 40.84 from me. Immediately on 25.10.2008 I sent a mail to [protected]@hsbc.co.in stating the entire history of the case and requested them to cancel the card , as I felt that the customer service of the Bank was very poor. Again 4.11.2008 I sent another mail and requested them to cancel the credit card as I have not received the same and informed them that I will not entertain any liability if the card was misused.

They have not taken any action, but subsequently I have not received any communication from them through mail or SMS.

But during the month of January 2011 I have received a message stating that the card (No ending 0938) is going to be renewed and will be forwarded to me around April 2011. I was surprised by this message and sent a mail on 27.01.11 informing the entire history and requested them not to send the card to my Chennai address as I have already transferred and also not interested in their card.

But again they sent one SMS on 03.06.2011 stating that the card has been despatched and I have to pay a total payment of Rs.1198.99 and a minimum due amount of Rs.140.84. This appears to be rediculous.

I have repeatedly informing them that I have not received the card and not interested in it anymore. It is very surprising that for a card not received by me and not utilised by me during the past 3 years and 6 months, they are demanding payment.

They are harassing me by making telephone calls. Every time I used to tell the same story to them. What is the technology they are using? Can't they verify, whether the card was delivered or not? Cant' they verify whether the card was utilized or not?

Is it there inefficiency or there method to increase the profit of their bank by torturing innocent people?
It shows very poorly on the performance of the so called foreign banks. It appears that they are here only to exploit the people.

I wish that by publishing this complaint, the general public can understand functioning and state of affairs of these Banks.

W already Discussed on help line no they says please you visit the near Bank branch and Discussed about this problem but bank says we already give reminder by latter we couldn’t help on this matter,

We are fooling the RBI Rules & HSBC Rules.
In the RBI rules there is no information about Reminder, I think so bank have to give reminder by phone / Mail / SMS for Documents.

These is very bad for the costumer against bank services.

While censoring you of not sending this type of letter in future, I write to inform you that the amount mentioned by you in your letter has not arisen out of my purchase and non- payment but for the debits of the annual renewal fees charged by you. Please note that at the time of offering the card your marketing team had given me to understand that the card given to me was life time free of charges. However, to my surprise I received a statement from your bank wherein you had charged annual renewal fees. As I have three other Platinum Cards from three other leading banks of the world I was not interested in continuing your card by paying annual fees. Immediately I had communicated my decision to your executives on your phone number[protected] who assured me of doing the needful. During that time I had asked him to incorporate my new address for future communication and that was done by him. Please note that my act of communicating new address proves my good intention and this was done after your charging of the annual renewal fees. Please also note that I have not used your card after this.FROM JUNE2008 I AM NOT USED YOUR CARD BUT I PAY AMOUNT THOSE HAVE PURCHASE I HAVE DETAILS FROM BEGINING SO PLEASE CLOSE ALL DUES AND CLEAR MY ACCOUNTS IF YOUR REPLY IS NOT COMING I AM CONSIDER ALL MY DUES IS CLEAR . DONT SEND ANY LETTER TO ME .

During the last eight months, in spite of my communicating to your executives about my decision of not continuing the card because of the reason mentioned above, I am continuously getting telephone calls and reminders from your office. Please note that this is disturbing and breaking my peace of mind particularly when I didn’t want to continue your card and have not sent any request to renew the same. My conversations with your executives may be available from your voice recorder. Please note because of your continuous harassment over phone and sending of insulting letters, I can take you to consumer forum and also inform RBI. About the credit history mentioned by you please note that my exceptional credit history can be established from the other three cards possessed by me for the last ten years where there is not a single day default.

Please note that if I don’t get an apology letter from your bank along with a fresh statement after reversing of your wrong charges within next 10 days, for the above action of you and your team, I will be constrained to take up the matter to consumer forum marking a copy to one of the leading news paper of our country.

                  Sincerely,
                  PAWAR VISHWAS (CELL NO:[protected]

this is a complain against one of HSBC employees .

first it was a citibank employee at gurgaon involved in cheating and fraud .

now it is hsbc . it seems foreign banks and its employees have decided to go all out in committing frauds and indulge in fraudulent activity .

the name of the h s b c employee is sudeep chatterjee .

he has been asking for bribe and money from candidates he is interviewing

he is recruiting for a senior position for the role of vice president for hsbc premier

we demand a review of all the selections he has made in the past 6 months

ask him of his selection procedure , how he rejected more deserving candidates ?

we are sure he selected the people who gave him the money which he demanded

none of the people could record the conversation during the interview when the demand for the money was made .

sudeep chatterjee repeatedly asked what would be his personal benefit if he recruited someone ?

this is the reason that good companies put up a selection panel and not one person . .

public sector undertakings ( psu ) has a recruitment board set up from people in different departments

ask mr. sudeep chatterjee to conduct all the interviews once again with other people from hsbc also being present during the interviews

it will become very clear that the selection and recommendations made by mr. chatterjee will be proved wrong

on the other hand the candidates he rejected will be found more suitable

request you to form a interview board with competent people in the team

it can be argued that even all the board members may be corrupt and may share the money .

but obviously chances are less . so setting up a selection panel is advisable

depending on early actions at your end we will decide whether to report this to police or not .

seems hsbc bank is following in the footsteps of citi bank ( citibank ) .

no doubt the employee productivity of hsbc has plummeted .

in 2009 , the profit per employee at hsbc india was 16 lakh .

                    in the year 2 0 1 0 , the profit per employee as h s b c india is 1 1 lacs .

a steep fall from 1 6 lac to 11 lakhs , when the economy has recovered .

hope you do a proper inquiry and enquire of the recent recruitment

HOPE THERE IS A PROPER ENQUIRY INTO ALL THE RECENT RECRUITMENTS AND INTERVIEW

                        My card milit is Rs.12000.

Bank levied overlimit fee of Rs.500 + service tax of Rs.51.50 statement of period 21 march 2011 to 20 april 2011 when My total outstanding was Rs.12,265/-.

I made cash payment of Rs. 1800 on due date itself. hence amount came under my credit limit that is Rs. 11454 in statement period of 21april 2011 to 20 may 2011.

As my card came under limit, then too HSBC bank levied overlimit fees of Rs.500 + service tax of Rs.51.50.

I was shocked by seeing statement , hence I request you to instruct HSBC bank to reverse overlimit fees of both the statements i,e satement period of 21 march 2011 to 20 april 2011 and statement period of 21 april 2011 to 20 may 2011.

Please refer our current bank account no.[protected] with HSBC Bank Connaught place new dellhi in the name of M/s SAVTECH SOLUTIONS.

Above current account is ZERO Balance and we got it opened with them about 2-3 years back and everything was going on well.

They did not issue any complaints against us (SAVTECH SOLUTIONS) and neither we did any complaints against their services.

We were operating our account ONLINE and communication process was communicated thru their ONLINE safe messages.

On 29th May 2011 when I was going thru with our ONLINE bank statement I noticed a message that approx. Rs. 590.00 has been deducted our current account against the ACCOUNT closure charges and immediately I visited the branch, there I was told that our account has been closed due non submission of fresh identity documents as RESERVE bank of INDIA's guidelines.

Without of any intimation our current account closed because of being a ZERO balance current account.

They (HSBC bankers) said that they informed us by letters (hard copies), but they could not e-mail , phone , or phone messages to me.

I would like to request to the relevent authorities to look in to this matter.

                              Hi,

I am holding a credit card of your bank ending with 7648. In the month of December 2010 I was supposed to make the payment of Rs 1920/- (Reference no: a[protected]
and I had made the full payment. But after going through my next statement I came to know that my payment was sort by 500/-. I made the complaint regarding the same (complaint no : [protected]). After 10-15 days your executive told me to meet Mr. Pukhraj Mathur ([protected]@hsbc.co.in). After discussion with Pukhraj Mathur, he tolds me to further make the payment of Rs 500/ and mail him the details so that he can forward the request to reverse the Late Payment Charges and Other Charges (Approx amount Rs. 536/-) against my Credit Card.

After making the payment I mailed him the details with statement for reversal. But till date I didn't received any confirmation/reply from his side and due to this my due amount got accumulated with Late Payment Charge and other charge each and every month from the month of Jan 2011.

Now the situation is that I am getting missed call and some time calls from some nos. frequently from collection department. They are saying to settle the account but I am not getting why I should settle the account when I have not made any purchase neither I have any kind of outstanding on my card. I am now tired to give answers to collection department. You can also check my past records and I have made the full payment all the time.

When I had made the full payment of Rs 1920/- how the payment was sort by Rs 500/-. Again on the words of your Bank personnel when I made the payment of Rs. 500/- why I am being charged of Late Payment and Finance Charge ???

Please look into the matter and kindly reverse all the dues on this Card.

Also I am forwarding the mail (in another mail) that I had sent to Mr. Phukraj Mathur after making the payment for reversal of Late Payment Charge and other charges.

                              Regards
                              - Manoj

I was HSBC Credit Card Holder bearing No. [protected] whose settlement I did on 14th July 2008 for Rs 10000/ in cash. I have the scanned copy of all the receipts given by the bank.
Even after the settlement, I never knew I was in for more nightmares, till date ie may 2011 I get calls from the Collection executives for the pending payment, I regularly get the statement from HSBC adding interest everytime. I DON’T UNDERSTAND WHY HSBC does not update its records and stops harassing customers. Also so many times I have faxed the settlement letter to the collection executives but no respite
Adding on to the above, HSBC has given my details to Credit Bureau of India and I who has all clear records, with all the other banks now am a defaulter and cant apply for any loan or credit card.
What can HSBC do to a customer first they don’t pick cheques from the collection centres and then they add the late fee and trouble the customers and finally do the settlement which they fail to update, who is to be blamed finally the customer?
The worst card you can have in your kitty and the most idiotic customer care

                                  Dear Sir/Mam

In year 2005 i made my first credit card transaction through HCBC credit card and as i was informed by HSBC that i have 50 days of interest free period upon which i made the respective payment on around 30-40th day. Following to which after 2 months HSBC sent me a statement reporting a late payment + finance charges of around Rs.700, following to which i inquired with HSBC and informed them about the insufficient information given to me about payment logic and instructed them to cancel my credit card and refused to make the charges.
Till date have never received any form of communication from HSBC, am surprised how Rs.700 is now become Rs.72,000.

Have already raised dispute with CIBIL (Request # 523934), am yet to get any response from CIBIL.

Could you advice me, how to resolve this particular issue.

                                  Thanks,

In 2008, I invested Rs. 10 lacs with HSBC bank (Sadar branch, Nagpur). They invested most of the amount in a Tata A.I.G. Insurance scheme.

Then HSBC forgot to pay the monthly installment of the insurance scheme.

Suddenly, one day I got a letter from HSBC stating that the invested amount was forfeited since I failed to pay the installment. Until this point I was not even aware that my money was invested in Tata A.I.G., as it was the responsibility of HSBC to manage the invested amount.

On 15th feb 2011, I filed a complaint with the reserve bank of India and they directed HSBC to look into the matter. Now I keep receiving letters from HSBC that they are processing my query, but till date I haven't received a concrete reply. In the end, my hard- earned invested amount is lost due to the carelessness of the over-fed employees of HSBC corporation.

I am really surprised that HSBC feels that it doesnt even have to listen to the
                                    Reserve Bank of India.

The complaint number given to me is:
                                    6363/02.15.02/2010-11

Sir, I request you to kindly look into this matter. I can support all my statements with documentary proof.

                                    Thanking you.

If customers UNITE in India and decide to leave HSBC India in support of their fellow Indian's, who are making complaints about HSBC India then this may make HSBC Plc take action.

The HSBC Credit cards does not despatch any statement to my address though my payment is very prompt. They give only cellphone messages so we cannot contact them anywhere in the world, that is the fate of the HSBC. My payment due for the month of April 2011 is Rs. 45028.43 and the minimum payment is Rs. 2251.42. I have paid an amount of Rs. 2500.00 on[protected] as[protected] was due date and the bank is holiday. Again cellphone message for May 2011 stated my due is 47.591.21 which is not correct. I have lodged a written complaint in the HSBC Bank, Greenlands, Somajiguda Branch, Hyderabad where I used to pay the amount every month, but till now no response. I have paid the minimum balance of Rs. 3000.00 today on[protected]. Every month the payment particulars received by the bank is messaged to my cellphone nO. [protected] very promptly. But the correction is becoming highly impossible through the net/their complaint phones from their office. Kindly do the justice. The payment of Rs. 2500/- for the month of April 2011 is not debited to my account.

                                        Address: Mumbai City, Maharashtra

I have been a Premier customer holding both NRE and NRO deposits/savings bank accounts for a very long time. For the past many years, the banks services have deteriorated and, therefore, I decided to close my accounts and move on to another bank. Although I submitted my account closing request more than 15 days back, as of today, the bank has not closed my accounts and transferred the amounts, as per my request. This bank believes in only automated messages, treating customers as mere robots, and does not bother to call the customer even once, despite several messages have been sent to it. Why this indifferent attitude when one requests for closure of accounts? Why such delays should occur to close the accounts? Everyday I am losing so much by way of interest because the bank is yet to transfer the money to the requested bank. I am a thoroughly disappointed and disgusted customer of HSBC.
