Dear Sir,
I hold a HSBC Credit card (No: [protected]).

On 17-Dec-09, I lost my card and got it blocked on the same day. Also, I requested for a new card.
The payment for the month of November was due on 24-Dec-09. Hence, as advised to me by the phone banking officer, I made a cheque payment of Rs. 10,252.00 towards my old credit card ([protected]) on 18-Dec-09.

However, as the money was not debited from my savings bank account, I registered a complaint with HSBC on (apparently) 23-Dec-09. I was told that as the card no. has changed, it may take time for the money to get transferred.

On 26-Dec-09 I visited the HSBC branch at Powai, as the transfer had still not taken place. They connected me to the phone banking officer, who advised me to block the cheque payment and make a VISA Money Transfer. I did so. To confirm the same, I called up the helpline number. The phone banking officer took note of the payment and reversed the late fee charges of Rs. 441.20.
On 5-Jan-10 I received my credit card statement for the month of Dec 2009. The statement shows Finance charges of Rs. 808.61.

The loss of my card combined with a series of holidays during this period has led to the late payment. However, I wish to repeat that I had made the payment on 18-Dec-09 as against the due date of 24-Dec-09. I had no intention of delaying the payment.

I have been charged for no mistake of mine.

I hope that you will understand the genuineness of my problem and reverse the Finance Charges.

Regards,
Shailesh Mishra.

HSBC Credit Card — No statement, finance charges and late fee

in dec month i did't get neither physical statement not SMS msg. on next- day of due date a representative called me and said about the dues and said, we are sending our person to you do not deposit cheque because cheque collected in thay way take time. i gave check on 7th, but cheque was cashed on 13.

so they have charged me finance charges and late fee more then Rs-1000
i called the customer care. the person said we can only reverse the late fee not reversal.

i have to pay finance charges of about Rs 800. why should i pay. for that.

HSBC Credit Card — Levy of late payment and finance charges

I am an account holder of HSBC for the past 18 years or so. I also availed of a home loan from them which has been closed now. For the past 15 years or more I have been using HSBC credit cards very extensively. Some years back I was offered two gold cards- one master and one visa along with two additional cards on both. All four cards have been used extensively by me and full payment made on each bill within the due date with no record of default. I received the MArch bill for one of the cards which was due on 13th April., I have deposited a at par cheque for the entire amount of Rs 33, 570 on 11th April in the HSBC ATM. With several bank holidays in early April, the cheque was realised only on 15th April by HSBC. On my next bill on the same card I was levied a finance charge of Rs 750 plus service tax and two finance charges 668 and 3040 plus service tax on 21st April although full payment was received by them on 15th April.

On follow up they reversed my late fee but was adamant in reversing finance fee and happy to cancel all my four cards, though I was billing a huge amount on all the cards and making full payments every month for several years. My last bill on all cards put together was in excess of one lakh. This shows they have no customer service attitude for non defaulting customers. Now I have no option but to close my savings account as well as my investment portfolio with the bank

HSBC Credit Card — Unnecessary finance charges levied on my card

Hi,

I paid 140/- short of 28341/-. That is i paid 28200 well before due date. for that i was levied finance charge of rs1600/- which is ridiculous by HSBC Bank. Please register complaint against HSBC Credit Card.

Regards,
Sasanka

HSBC Credit Card — Finance charge levied

Hi

Extra finance charge for over Rs 1000 has been levied on my HSBC credit card even though the payment was done to on last date via check. Their argument is "check takes time to encash and it's been told to me earlier".
Firstly, It is nowhere mention that I can't pay by check on last date.
Secondly, They did the reversal in the past making a precedent against their argument.
Additionally, their net banking wasn't working earlier due to problem in their OTP device.

Even after repeatedly calling and conveying the inaffordability of their charges, they are adamant of their charges. I have 4 yrs of banking relation of them, which I would snap immediately. I am making the current payment sans the finance charges. I won't be paying them any finance charges and charges on that amount subsequently. Please interevene I am really scared of their recovery agents. Please note they are doing this to their ex employee, I am really concerned about the common people.

pf declined

Hi...i was working in hsbc for seven years. After i left my pf form was submitted from hsbc. Bt when i check the atatus af my pf it shows that it is declined.my pf account number is APHYD[protected]. Thanks Shalom

    Hello,
I used to hold 2 cards from HSBC until both of them were stolen about a year and half ago. I informed the HSBC lost cards dept as soon as I discovered the loss, however someone had made some fradulent purchases from the card in the meantime. I informed HSBC dept in writing about the same as per the instructions from their customer care dept and I assumed the matter was closed. No one contacted me for more than a year, and suddenly one fine day they call me up stating that there is due of nearly 1 lakh rupees on both my cards. I pleaded ignorance with them and informed them about how their customer care dept had closed the matter with me long ago, but to no avail. Finally they agreed to settle my amount to a certain lesser amount (Rs 24000 odd on one card and Rs 36000 odd on another) and I duly paid the same in cash. They gave me the no due letter for one of the cards however they did not give for the second card stating that there was still Rs 300 due from me for the same. The agent who came to me to collect the amount did not inform me that I have to make an additional Rs 300 payment for the full settlement. When my statements still showed dues, I tried to contact the bank but now they are not ready to settle the issue at Rs 300 which was actually due from my side. Now they are harrasing and demanding payment for more than Rs 40000 for the due of Rs 300. Upon this, the matter is affecting my other cards applications and other processes. Please assist me with this matter.

I am an employee, and have a savings account with HSBC. My confidential and private letters sent by HSBC through mails do not reach me, but my security guard. Once I found my statement lying near the lift, which was open. And also, private matters like my PIN no. for my debit card I got it from my security guard. It can and could have given access to unauthorised people. I want to file a case against them for not safeguarding my private and confidential matters.

Hi, I am depositing cheques in time in the drop box defined by HSBC. They also say drop cheque before 4 working days, how ever i am depositing cheque before 5-7 days, still cheques are shouls as late payment (may be they drop bix collection contract is not up to the mark and they need to improve on that.). I have followed woth HSBC call center agents, also writing to "[protected]@hsbc.co.in" mail ID to log my complaints. My complaint was registered with HSBC "Reference Number[protected]" and e-mail subject line was ***4924 (KMM6046279I123L0KM).

I am not getting to any resolution and they are not ready to remove financial charges applied in November month. Now they have statrted to apply financial charges every month. I have requested them to Cancel the card and stop adding financial charges, but they are saying "Financial charges would be applied every month and you as customer have to pay". Today i spoke to "JUDE" in HSBC and he says you have to pay, no other options.

I need help to resolve this matter.

Bank does not give statements as it claims I have access to e-statements (which I do not have for the 2nd card) and hence I can't get reimbursement from co. and HSBC has been harrassing me for no fault of mine. Their agents said tauntingly.. go to consumer court why are you still waiting?

          Summary:

          Sept/Oct 2006
I was sold an add-on card by an HSBC agent which I activated on losing my wallet while on business travel in the US. As the expenses were official, I intentionally did not sign up for e-statement (electronic statements) as with the first card. As I did not receive statement even after a month of my return and needed supporting to file my travel expenses, I called the bank helpline and was told that this would be sent. On repeated phone calls over 3 months, I was told that as I had signed up for e-statement, and I will not be sent a statement but had to log into the site and print one. I logged on to the site but as I had not subscribed for the service for my add-on card, I could not find any statement which I informed the call centre senior most person (a lady) and sent emails with screen shot but no one listened.

          2007, 2008
On calling weekly then monthly internals for over a year, I was being sent a summary statement that said this is the outstanding. But not the actual bill for the car with merchant charge and amount as required by the office for reimbursement even though I agreed to pay the charge. A plain paper printout was once delivered to the office which was also not acceptable to the finance dept.

During this period, the bank has been debiting my savings account and has extracted its pound of flesh of over 20,000/- for a charge of just 6,000/-

Repeated calls by collection agents and harassment.

I had written to ombudsman and other point of contacts but nothing has been done.

          2009
Somewhere in Aug/Sept of this year one of the agents called to settle this account and I with disgust agreed for a settlement of 1,000/-

Now, I am being sent bills which shows an outstanding of over Rs. 5,000/- and growing with each month.

Please help. I hope the banks do not have a revenue generation strategy of this kind. It will be sad if this is the case.

          Thank you for your assistance.

I had used HSBC gold credit card in late 2004 and early 2005 for two transactions. At the time of bill the bank had charged more interest as mentioned in the terms & conditions. So they had sent a representative to my place to sort out the conflict. I have made the payment accordingly and they had closed my card. Now in dec 2009 i have applied for a loan from sbi bank but they refused my loan because in the current cibil report my HSBC transaction's status is written off instead of cleared. Then i contacted the HSBC bank and the people there are saying that i have to pay more then 19000 to get the status cleared although i personally checked that there is zero outstanding due on my card as per their account details also. So please help me out in this because i am unable to find out that why and how the bank is charging me so huge on a small and genuine waiver.

One year ago some sales executive of HSBC card came to me and requested me to take a free credit card offered by HSBC Bank. He informed that if the card is not used for a year , the credit card will be automatically deactivated. HSBC may confirm whether to continue or discontinue this card. They promised, this card is absolutely free.

I never used the credit card given by them. Suddently today , I got a credit card statement, saying the outstanding amount is Rs. 2206.93
Out of this 2000 is the membership fees and 206.93 is service tax.

Pls suggest what can be done now.

his should be a lesson for every one who is trying to get a HSBC credit card.

I applied for a HSBC credit card in the year 2007. After few days i got a mail asking to pay
a minimum amount of 101 by the time i have not yet received the credit card.
I wrote to HSBC that i have not received the card. I also got a letter stating that the card
was not delivered an it was returned back undelivered and got destroyed by the HSBC.

But After two years i suddenly started getting a sms asking me to pay the due of 11, 000/-
There is no clue whether the card was again delivered or not or without delivering if HSBC is trying
to settle their other defaulted accounts by creating such bogus impression that the i have used
a card which i have not received in my hand and charging some amount and asking to pay a minimum
amount and some customer care person is asking me to sign a settlement letter in which it is
asking me to agree that i have used the card and i have defaulted the payment also when we
ask them to give the transaction history to know who and where they have used the card in
case if it would have been delivered the bank is refusing to give the transaction history.

In the year 2008 i have got a statement with wrong billing where i have made a purchase of 2467 rupees at Big Bazar......for which i have not made the payment because i have got the statement with annual fees... i have told the customer care executive clearly that i will not be paying the annual fees....customer care executive told me that we will wave off the annual fees and the additional charges....he told me to pay 3000 rupees in end of June-08 and told that he will be sending a person to collect the cheque...and give me the closure...but he never turned up for 4 days, every day i used to call the customer care and he used to tell me that the person has left ....then immediately i have gone to the HSBC branch Located at JMD building in Gurgaon and dropped the Cheque for Rs 3000..with a cheque No. 110361....... later again i started getting the statements saying that you need to pay the outstanding amount and i used to communicate to the customer care about the payment made and no waver has been done.... pls lookinto this... no one has responded to me clearly.... instead started telling me to pay the same or else it will increase month on month.....Now the amount has gone up to 7000 plus amount and HSBC is not taking any interest in resolving the same.....

Today some one called up from HSBC legal department and started saying that what ever you do you have to pay the outstanding reflecting in your account....or go round the courts....

                    Please do the needfull

HSBC Credit Cards — Collection calls without holding a credit card

I have been receving collection calls from HSBC bank regarding a card that was issued to me. They are providing incorrect details and wants me to confirm my details. When advised that I am not the right person and dont know how they have my phone number. The rep on the other side started abusing me and giving all kind of threats.
I think the bank needs to vrfy the details using the date of birth so that they can get to the right person.

HSBC Credit Cards — Mismanaged Services

I had a dispute with HSBC Bank Credit card for the false Cash Back Commitment, but they never entertained the same. They keep on imposing pressure on me to clear their dues, which i refused to pay until my dispute is resolved. Getting too much fed up with the things I finally decided to go for settlement.

I got a settlement letter from Bank in which settlement was going on for Rs. 6000. I did paid this amount on 11th December against the settlement.

But till now I have not received any confirmation from HSBC. I have also not received Zero Balance Statement as mentioned by Bank.

When I asked bank about this, they said they never went for the settlement kind of thing. This is really bad on bank's part. I guess i should now go to consumer court for the same.

I have a letter in my hand for settlement issued by bank, but bank is saying that they don't have any information.

HSBC Credit Card — HSBC wrong billing

                    Dear Sir,
                    Credit Card account no: [protected]

I am a very loyal customer of HSBC credit card for more than 4 years. I have been very regular in making my payments. In the month of Aug 2008, i received call from HSBC call centre requesting me to transfer the Credit card balance of any other bank to HSBC. I transferred ICICI credit card balance to HSBC for the period of 6months.
I was regularly paying my outstanding to bank till Oct 2008, but suddenly my card was deactivated and reason told to me by your customer service executive was there was error from the banking staff, and I will have to pay my remaining outstanding of INR 7020/- immediately.
Hence i requested them to reactivate my card, but till date my card is not reactivated, now I have stared getting threatening mails that I will be blacklist . Now they are also unable to tell the reason for card deactivation. My question to you is : “Why is the error of your banking staff, not been taken into account, and a loyal customer is penalized for same.”
Please look into the matter, as I again repeat that I am ready to pay the outstanding dues, but want to know why my cards was deactivated?
This is last communication with bank.
                    Regards
                    Chandrakant.

HSBC Credit Cards — Threat over phone without listening to my cause and neither sending any intimation to my Kolkata address

I am having this card for few years. Besides this we also had number of other relations with HSBC. Inthe month of April 09 I last spoke to somebody over phone from Bank may be Mr.Rajiv or so and intimated him my worst financial condition. In short since July 2007 I am facing tremendous financial crisis and along with my family of me and my wife with 2 children are in a very bad condition. I was jobless. After that I have also posted letter to HSBC via regular mail as well as through their collection represenattives and we need cooperation from the bank with regard to time for repayment. As I am trying frantically at this hour of recession and that too at this age of 40 to find a job which is very important for our survival and also slowly regain the strength to repay the dues. In the meantime I came for job searching in Bangalore last month and my wife along with my kids are still there in Kolkata, anybody can contact my residence and there is no hide and seek about it. Yesterday somebody rang me up from Kolkata threatening me that if by today afternoon I am not depositing 94000/ to the bank I will be taken into custody. Then I called him up twice and explained him my present situation and also intimated him that there is almost an arrangement at the verge of completion with reagrd to my livlihood and asked for cooperation. Even I explained him that see if I am taken to custody as I have no assets not only my family will be finished but also the chance of banks recovery would be over. But he refused to hear to me, e only said that by tomorrow if you pay 45000/ one go it will be over, I explained him rather requested him to convey it to bank my prsent incapability. Then after I arranged for some borrowed amount of Rs 5000/ for my wife so that she can deposit the same to HSBC my card account today, this I did just because I got almost an assurance of a job here in Bangalore. Then I called that number[protected], and tried to once again plead to that spokesperson to accept that payment and give me time so that again by next month I can make payment and so on settle the dues. But he refused. Instead he told me keep that money with you it will be of your help for fighting the case.
Now my question is what about humanity from the bank, what about my worst financial condition and what about my gesture of starting the repayment and also getting the chance to survive. I question the bank that if they take me into custody will the purpose of the bank be fulfilled. What the bank will get in finishing me and my family. Even I have told bank to send representative and get the clear picture from my house and even the shop which we have in Kolkata in almost dead condition and judge the seriousness of the situation. Still I am sure that Bank will realise my genuinity and help me and family to survive and thereafter get the cahnce to repay my dues. I honestly and genuinely plead before banks authority to help me out. I am confident of turning round and I commit to make payments in installments to bank from now on as I am getting a job.

HSBC Credit Cards — Account Settlement

I have a credit card with HSBC. I have been paying on time however recently I lost my job and due to recession I am unable to find another, so I am going out of the country to search for a job. I requested HSBC to close this account as I can;t pay anymore but they are continously adding interest and calling me. I cannot pay anymore. So please close this card.

HSBC Credit Cards — Balance Transfer - Hassles and harrassment

The history of my case goes like this.

I requested for a balance transfer from HSBC towards my CITIBANK credit card in the month of November-2008.

The request was raised on Nov[protected]as per the statement) for an amount of 22, 000.00 INR for six months plan.

The same amount was debited (along with the processing fee and the eligible taxes) onto my card.

The check for the mentioned amount was issued in the name of my CITI card as per HSBC updates, but the amount never got credited to my CITI account.

Still, as a faithful customer, I made 2 consecutive payments of 2K each, hoping that amount would be credited to CITI account.

As a result of my sincerity, I was being charged by both, HSBC and CITI, so I made the payment of total outstanding on CITI and I stopped making further payments on HSBC, as the amount in question was never used by me. I made several calls to HSBC reporting the situation, but all in vain. Pissed off with the situation, I stopped ma, king calls, hoping that after some 3 or 6 months, the check would automatically get cancelled, and HSBC will have their money with them. Meanwhile, I kept getting calls from their collections department who kept asking for payment towards the outstanding, on which even a fat interest had accrued. I again took time and pain in explaining the situation to them to which they assured me of appropriate response and resolution.

Now, after almost 9 months of this torture, I'm being tortured even worse by HSBC's recovery department, who (some guy named Tarun) are threatening me of legal actions, in case I fail to pay the sum.
So, in summary, I'm being traumatized to pay a hefty sum of around 17K as the settlement amount, post which, I'll be issued a settlement letter, and will be barred from any further relationship with the bank ever in future.

For me, the total comes almost close to 22K (as I've already paid 4K), which I've never used, and, I'm deemed guilty and punished 'no future relationship' (though it should be reverse instead) without even utilizing a single penny.

I would like to mention that I’m sick of the pathetic and ridiculous services of HSBC's multiple departments (customer care, collections, recovery), and I'm strongly going to publicize the bad treatment that I've been subjected to by HSBC.

I'd request all the people to think atleast a 100 times before getting lured into any of the HSBC's credit card services and products as I myself have had enough tortures and harrassments for all my life times.

HSBC Credit Card — Member ship fee and Late payment charges

I am one of the HSBC card holder and i am using this card last two to three years. I am getting this card on basis of life time free card. But in my nov month statement it contains membership fee as rs700.I called to executive and complaint regarding this now they are saying its not free card.

One more thing is last two years i am receiving the statement properly with same address.Last month (i.e nov) statement i received on 4th which is having the due date as on 03rd.I called to HSBC customer care centre and complaint about this they are saying that there is no proper address in thier records.I can not understand this.Even i can not able to hear they replies.

Currently actual my card out standing balance was around 3000 but they are demanding me to pay is rs4500.

Please help me how can i handle this.

HSBC Credit Cards — Undo Changes on the Closed Credit Cards

I had an HSBC credit card some 3 yrs back, due lack of proper services and undue late payment charges being levied on my card i stopped using the same within 5-6 months of issue.
I would never get the credit card statement in time, neither through snail mail, email or even SMS. On top of these they would charge me late payment fees. Due to all this i stopped using the card and opted for a StanC card.
I made whatever amount was due in my card and closed the account.
Now after 3 yrs I get phone calls from HSBC's recovery dept. that some Rs. 4000+ amount is due in my card and I'll have to make this payment to avoid listing as a defaulter. I have been told that it was actually the closing amount on my card which I had not paid and is now blown into this much amount.
At the time of the issue of the card I was told that this was 'free for life' card and there would be no additional fees at all whatsoever. Even the Terms and Conditions document did not mention of any Closing amount that would be charged in case of Card Closure.
Now the recovery dept. reps are asking me make the settlement with a lesser amount but I dont understand why I should pay anything at all for a service that I am not availing
This is a total RIP OFF on HSBC's part.

HSBC Credit Card — wrong billing done by hsbc.

                    Respected sir,

I was a HSBC credit card customer from last 4-5years.
Kindly refer my credit cards ending with ****8512 i was offered this card by HSBC as a life time free card now they have charged me with annual sevice charges of Rs.700/-& Rs.350/- for addon card.

The above mentioned charges i have not paid same and have informed HSBC to reverse the same. but still date they have not done the same stating that HSBC currently does not have any promotional scheme. Due to this i have cancelled the card after paying all the purchase outstanding of Rs.5760/- . Even after this they are still sending me bill by adding charges and late payment charges finance charges etc. & sevice charges etc.

Kindly refer my to my another credit cards ending with ***8516 as per my record their is no purchase outstanding left with this card. what ever outstanding HSBC is telling is the carry forward amount which you have credited in the subsequent month. In one month HSBC charges finance charge and service charge in subsequent month they reverse the same and again charge with finance charge and services charge for the same which again had mounted up in the range of 2thousand. If you go thru all the statement you can conclude. how can you charge finance charges for the principal amount which is being reversed time and again.

Also it is humble request to you kindly go through my tenure associtated with HSBC from last 6years and pls. let me know any incident of part payment made by us or late payment made by us. we use to operate 6credit card within our family. now due to your above nuissance we have to cancelled all our cc.

Also be informed i have cancelled all my credit cards associated with HSBC. You are kindly requested to take up the issue with HSBC and help me to overcome this mess.

                    regards,

HSBC Credit Cards — Illegal usage of charges and levying extra charges on the card

In may2008 , I have made the total outstanding amount of the card and dropped a letter to close the card , which didnt happen .. I left for onsite from my company and came back in May 2009 .. I received one statement from HSBC saying there is some 6000 outstanding on my account.. I immediately called up the helpdesk and asked whats this , I havent received any positive response from them and from then on they started sending monthly statements adding late payment charges and interest charges .. No that they also mentioned they cancelled my card , they still issued interest charges .. In december , I thought I cant take this much more and called them up again and asked if there is any amount which I can pay as full and final settlement . They said no , I have to pay entire amount . On december 31st , I have paid off the total outstanding amount of 8213 ( which was full of interest charges only ) and I paid 100 rs extra as they collected that as I paid in cash . And I imeediately informed the helpdesk to send me NOC and settlement letter .. Which I havent received .. And again , now I received a fresh statement with outstanding as 110 rs which they said as legal interest charges ... Now if i dont pay that amount they will again add interest and latepayment fees and in one yr it will go to some thousands .. This is not a good reply from the Bank and I never received any positive response from them .. Because of this , I am totally tensed and running short of money as one can understand paying 8000 rs only as interest is really troublesome ... Can you please help and help me get justice . Thanks in Advance .

                    Arun
                    Dear Sir/ Madam,

This is to inform you that your company HSBC cards is badly harrashing for uncredible payments. Earlier also I complained regarding this matter. Let me inform you that my actual credit amount on date january 2010 is Rs 12000 INR, and already made the payments of Rs 4000 INR and balance amount is only Rs 8000 INR. But as per your records I have to pay Rs 21000 for my card no.[protected] I dont on what basis your officals are asking me for the payments. Few months back I had a chat with your representative, and he said that I have to pay only Rs 6000 for the settlements but i dont know what happend to that promise, i never have back call on this point. Now I am getting frequent call to make the payments for Rs 21000.
On a serious note I am ending my complain that take proper action asap otherwise I will move this case to the consumer forum with the charges of false billing and mental harrashment. Dont take this matter lightly, I am really pissed off with your services, now its time for action, its better you do first otherwise i have to act.

                    Thanks,
                    Ajay Jaiswal

HSBC Credit Card — MEMBERSHIP FEE & LATE PAYMENT CHARGES

I had been a user of HSBC Credit card for two years before i sent a request for surrendering my credit card in july/august 2009(month not sure) through customer care. At the time of taking credit card the executive told me that this is free membership card and no membership fee shall be charge against it. But after one year o[censored]sage i was charged by Rs. 800/-(approx) for membership fees that i request for revert back that charges through customer care because my card was free & subsequently my charges in this regard was reverted back.

In the second year again HSBC charged Rs. 750/- (approx.)for membership fees, again i talk to the custmer care but they refused to revert back the charges by saying that this is not a free membership card & you have to pay the charged amount. I still wait for the customer freindly response from the HSBC & stop the payment of my last bill of Rs. 4100/- (approx).

After that i had a long conversation through my mail to the HSBC for near about 3-4 Months & 5-6 times. Meanwhile HSBC put late payment charges for my bill amount every month.

After so many conversation the executive adviced me to pay my actual amount of shopping. In March 2010 I paid the actual amount of my shopping bill.

Now again calls is coming from the HSBC to pay all the balanced amount i.e. membership fee & all other late payment charges & the executive visit fee for collecting the amount from me.

The executive from HSBC are using such a rough manner which is unbearable.

Kindly help me out from this issue.

HSBC Credit Cards — Harassment by the Credit Card Division of the HSBC Bank

I was given a credit card by the HSBC Bank executives while I was employed as an Engineering Manager in a Software firm in India. It was given to many employees along with me and claimed that it’s

                    a lifetime free card.

                    1. Unfortunately the Wireless division of the said firm collapsed and most of the executives of the division moved out along with me.
                    2. The Bank then started levying the yearly fees to my account. I sent them multiple requests but there was no response by the bank.
                    3. I deposited the entire outstanding amount to the bank (except the yearly fees, plus the service taxes levied on top of it), trashed/destroyed the card and sent it over registered post to the bank

along with the request to close the account citing the above reasons for closure.
                    4. There was no response from the bank. So I sent one more registered letter to the Vice President of the Bank along with all the proofs. This was almost 2 years back. It was only then the mails

                    stopped coming.
                    5. One year back again the same problems started, but when I spoke to the executives and explained them everything. Things settled down and there were no longer problems.
                    6. This year again I started getting calls and the statements. Moreover there are threatening calls being made to my wife. And I am not even staying in Delhi anymore, where my wife resides.
                    7. Now after sending them multiple mails to their Nodal Officer, there is a reply from the department along with the statements which clearly show the amount manupulation being done by the credit

card guys. But again they have written to give them my number and clear the dues which are actually not there.
                    7. The telephone numbers from which the guys call are hunting numbers and while trying to call back, it says that the number does not exist. So the problem is that we can't even lodge a formal

                    complaint against the harassment/threatening calls.

                    My questions are:

                    1. When I had paid the entire outstanding amount and requested the closure of the account after trashing the card and sending it over the registered post, why it did not happen.
                    2. If the bank checks the records, they will not find a single entry of card being swiped/used. So how are the charges being levied on me.
                    3. Why is not the account being closed till date.
                    4. Why don’t the Credit Card executives send communication over written along with the entire statements as to where the card has been used and where the purchases have been made. They

cannot do it as the card does not exist from past 3 years or so.
                    5. Why do the Credit Card executives make fake promises when the Bank does not offer the fee waivers. And why doesn’t the bank take the responsibility/ownership of the statements made by its

                    executives.
Goto Consumer court and file a case against the Bank then only they will learn a lesson.

Never opt for credit cards from International banks. Always buy from an Indian/nationalised bank.

                      Issue

Credit Card account Settled with Mutual Agreement and Payment made to Bank for the Outstanding Dues through Post dated Cheques Issued in advance, and Acknowledgment Receipts received for the same as advised the Banks Debt Mangement Executive

Violation of the Settlement agreement -

Non closure of the credit Card account ,Fraud and Harassment on Part of HSBC

                      A) Unsatisfactory Reply And No Clarification provided by HSBC on the reason as to why the Settlement was NULL and Void
B)Undaunted Harassment and threatening calls and personal Visits being made by the Bank Management Executives

With repeated calls and Emails sent to the Banks Complaints Department and the Nodal Officer of HSBC in regards with closing the credit card account and Updating the same with CIBIL.However,HSBC has had a very casual approach towards resolving the ongoing issue ,with no justified reason nor satisfactory explanation provided .

Replies received are only a series of denials and excuses on why the settlement agreement was supposedly null and void

The explanation received after almost one month of follow up emails on the Issue was :

HSBC claims that the payment received was not as per the settlement agreement date mentioned,However the the post dated cheques were issued and the equated monthly instalment of the settled dues was calculated and advised by the Banks Debt Mangement Executive, who in turn provided the acknowledgement receipts and the settlement letter which was misprinted with the actual date of the settlement cheques issued ,which clearly was a preplanned Intention and Conspiracy on part of the Bank to dishonour the Settlement agreement.

With now the latest reply received from the Bank claims that they have no record of one of the post dated cheques which has not been credited to the Credit Card account towards the settlement Dues .

Harassment and Fraud on part HSBC
Outstanding Statements and the account referred to CIBIL, even after Honoring the Settlement agreement

Harassment and Mental torture by the Banks Debt Management Officers through Numerous threatening calls and Personal visits violating guidelines prescribed by the RBI

This is with reference to calls made to me for credit card collection by HSBC Credit card recovery team.

Mr.Bikesh Singh (Delhi HSBC recovery) called me and asked me to pay Rs.7000 towards my credit card dues.

When I asked for a break-up of the amount, he refused saying he himself didn’t have the details.
He became rude to me and started shouting at me abusing me to pay the money.

This kind of rude behavior with customers is unacceptable, especially when the customer is ready to pay the amount provided he gets the details.
I seriously condemn this behavior and request you to take action against such miscreants.

It is matter of great regret that HSBC Credit Card & TATA-AIG are charging unlawfully Rs 3906.00 in place of Rs 99 only for r a cancelled policy from TATA-AIG.

                        Cancelled TATA-AIG Policy No-OOHC[protected].

Please note that I did cancel the above mentioned policy within 3 to 4 days of its inception. As per Tata-Aig, only Rs 99/- should be levied on me.

But unfortunately you have charged the total policy amount + the cancelled amount as follows:

In statement (12 Sept to 11 Oct 09)

                        1 October[protected] Rs 317.25

In statement (12 Oct to 11 Nov 09)

                        [protected]-- Rs 3489.75

                        Actual Expenses made by me:

                        17 Oct 09 Kopal Comp[protected]Rs 1000/-
                        20 Oct, Old Tata-aig policy[protected]Rs 358/-

                        2 Nov Amber[protected]----Rs 469/-

                        Total Amount------Rs 4121/-

If you will add Rs 99/- for cancellation charge of the tata-aig policy, it should come out Rs 4220/- only.

But they charged me once again extra Rs 3489.75 for the same above mentioned cancelled Tata-Aig policy.

As a result of your wrong entries, you billed me Rs 7702.79---- (Rs 4220/- (the valid Amt) + Rs 3489.75 (the wrong & unjustified amt for the cancelled tata-aig policy) - Rs 6 . 96 (excess Amt paid for Oct 09))

This is shows their lack of concern for the customer & ways of exploiting the poor customers.

Despite I called repeatedly you people & Tata-Aig no body is sorting out the problem.

                          ANNUAL FEE
                          Hallo,

I have been issued a credit card from HSBC (card no.[protected] as a free card. At the time of applying for the credit card as well as at the time of telephonic verification, I had orally confirmed that the cards were life time free cards. However, recently my card account has been debited with annual charges. When contacted, the officials in HSBC now say that HSBC cards are not life time free cards and it is subject to annual charges and that it has been mentioned in the tariff card of the credit card service guide.

It is a matter of common sense for me that when all the other banks are offering life time free cards from around five years back, why would one customer go for a paid card? The point is that at the time of issue and verification of credit card I have been cheated by telling that the cards are life time free.

It is true that when we do not have the chances of getting a free card in any other bank then we would go to a paid card. My credit rating is such that a free card issued by ICICI BANK with a limit of Rs.48000 a few years back In such a case why would I go for a paid card account after knowing that it is a card subject to annual charges!
Please advice me for further action.

It is true that when we do not have the chances of getting a free card in any other bank then we would go to a paid card. My credit rating is such that a free card issued by CITIBANK with a limit of Rs.48000 a few years back has now been increased to Rs.162000 due to my excellant repayment capacity. In such a case why would I go for a paid card account after knowing that it is a card subject to annual charges!
Please advice me for further action.

                          Thanking you,
                          K. GURURAJ.

At the time of applying for the credit card as well as at the time of telephonic verification, I had orally confirmed that the cards were life time free cards. HSBC Credit Card — Annual Charges

I am using HSBC Credit 4476-xxxx-xxxx-5564 since May 2009, while providing the Credit Card it was clearly told to me that the primary and add on card is completely free for life time and I will not have to pay any annual charges.

In Oct 2009 I made complete payment of total outstanding due with me and there onwards there is nothing due from my end and even next month I received zero balance statement from HSBC. From there onwards I haven't made any transaction using HSBC Card.

Suddenly in the first week of Jan 2010 HSBC sent me a statement with Annual Fees for primary and add-on card. I immediately informed them and asked to cancel the credit card immediately. But the bank in reply saying that the charges are mandatory and needs to be paid before cancellation of card. That means HSBC is fooling its customer this way. Please Guide..

HSBC Bank — Credit Card Annual Fee

HSBC issued a credit card to me in 2006 saying that it is life time free credit card.

Last week I got a call for outstanding of Rs.2700 towards annual fees of Credit Card. I never used / swiped the HSBC credit card for even once in my life time. As per my knowledge after 6 month if we dont use it, its get automatically blocked. But when I got a call from them, I was shocked by hearing the outstanding towards nothing purchased by me or not any transactions.

Its very rediculuous to the tone and behaviour of HSBC executive when they speak with their customer and use very slang language.

I mailed them saying that I wont be paying you a single rupee towards your annual fee because according to your executive they have issued a card to me for life time free card.

But right now they are harrashing me like anything by calling me and by sending mail to me.

I am tired of all this things now.

And want to complain against HSBC and their Management team.

                          Thanking You

HSBC Credit Card — HSBC Credit Card Membership fees

                          Hi,

I am a long time customer of HSBC credit card, the new way to fetch money from customer has been started by HSBC credit card team.

Firstly they charge Primary Membership Card fees from the member in the monthly statement. When at the time of giving the card they say it as Life time free membership card.

If its goes unnoticed the person will pay for the charges. But if the person is aware then only will the customer call back the call centre to reverse the charges or else its benefit of HSBC.

This is the new way HSBC has started, to take the money from there customer. So people please be aware to check your statement thoroughly before making the payment.

HSBC — annual fee charged against the life time free card commitment

I was offered a Gold credit card life time free in 2005 when i used to reside at Mumbai / Thane. I had used the same card for almost 3 yrs with minimum transections & making all the payments on time. Since day on day uses for the said card went down due to its very limited requisits i hardly than used to make a use of it. The credit card as u know is there to take care of our credit needs when ever being required.

In 2009 August i shifted to Gujarat and there was no usage of the said card for months to gather. In the month May-june 2010 i came to know that the said card outstanding was showing balance of Appx Rs 5000. I had contacted the customer care for the same where i confirmed with them abt my outstanding purchases which was not paid by me. Their customer care executive confirm me that there was no purchases out standing but the o/s amt was of the Annual fees levied. I had an argument with them regarding how this charges were applicable to me as for more than 4 yrs my cards statment didnt had any annyal fees as the had commited me the life time free cards. Now again in the month of Sept 2010 they had issued another statment which now showed the o/s amt of Rs 7000 for the interest cost over the previous amt on cumulative basis. I again had called up the HSBC customer care where they said that th said card is already blocked since Jan 2010 and now i need to pay the amt of outstanding to get rid off such adding of charges to my ac. I was suggested to called up the collection dept on[protected] to further seek some help from them. I had called up on the same number on 06/10/2010 and had a word with Ms. Renuka and had gone through all the story. She was like the waive off for the same was not possible andi have to pay off this amt as the same will creep up on month on month basis. But i than refused to pay off the same letting her know that there was not a single penny o/s from my end as far as the pruchases on the credit cards are concerned and the amts of annual fees were purely levied as i was not using that card.

Pls let me konw wat to do against the same as these amts are going to creep up day by day.

I need to get a help from ur side.

                          Regards,

I Questione d them that ' it is a lifetime payment offer that you have provided for me and how can you say that I need to pay now monthly minimum ammount, when it is a Lifetime benefit.

I'm not understanding the Lifetime payment here.

                            Hello,

I had been using HSBC credit card since 2006 and wasn't satisfied with it even then.
Later in August 2007, I had dropped in a cheque for Rs. 7000/- on 2nd Aug 07, Chq no:67050 - UTI (Axis) Bank as credit card payment. Few days later I got a letter saying that my cheque has been rejected and I should issue a new cheque. when i checked my bank account, i saw that on 4th August '07 the amount(Rs 7000) has been debited. I called up customer service and they asked me to wait for next month's statement. When I got my statement for August in September '07, it showed that the cheque has been rejected from HSBC and payment returned. But I haven't received this amount back in my bank account till now.

I had faxed statements and letters to their Regional Chennai office but in vain. I emailed them several times mentioning the disaster, sent them all the required proofs but they kept giving me weird reasons and kept adding interest every month. I emailed their nodal office also but the case is still pending. They had issued me a new card it seems which i never received. The old card account shows closed and so does the new one but it has an outstanding amount which they are asking me to pay. I have cleared all the other pending dues except for the disputed amount and the interest charged for it.

I have been trying to resolve this issue for the past two years but HSBC is horrible and i would never like to be associated with them again.

                              Dear Sir,
In the year 2004, HSBC officials approached me to avails their Home Loan at a very attractive rate of 7% p.a. and promised us of their full co-operation and support in keeping the future interest rates as per the RBI guide lines and in lines of leading Public sector banks. As the time passed by, due to market trends they their interest rates in an unjustified way up to 13 to 14% much higher than other banks and the most unfortunate part is that till to-day they have not reduced the rates in accordance with RBI guide lines and other PSU banks and when we approached them, they threatened to close down the account and they have advised us to continue paying whaterver their demand is and have also warned of action from their side if any complaint is registered with authorities like yourselves. Today, their interest rate is about 4 to 5% over and above some of the leading PSU banks. And nobody from their side is willing to listen to our helpness and grievances. It is a shame that in India foreign banks like HSBC is exploiting general public and helpless consumers.

                                  Dear Sir,

I would like to inform you that I am holding HSBC credit card [protected] since October, 2006 to till date. But till date they have not charged me any annual fee for the said card. Also note I have not paid any fee towards the annual fee. Now suddenly they charged me annual fee of Rs 700.00 in the forth year. Four years back when I accepted this card, executive told me that the card is life time free. Hence I accepted the card.

I already sent mail for reverse of annual fee but they are not ready to reverse. They sent me reply that card is not lifetime as per their system and hence they charge me the annual fee. They told me to pay annual fee and then they will credit 700 points in my credit card account. As per my knowledge the card is life time free. Please make a note that they have not charged me annual fee in the past . This is first time they charge me annual fee. I would like to request you that please help me in this matter.

                                  Please do the needful.

                                  Thanks & Regards

                                  Dear Sir.

I fully agree as i am also told the same thing. They have charged me inspite of me cancelling card. I think the bank should see that we customers are not troubled this way as we trust HSBC Bank and why the annual fee is charged where as the cards are issued free of cost.

I wish that the matter is taken serious so that the customers of HSBC credit card are happy using your card. I am dead sure that the bank will do the needful and restore their customers.

                                  thanking you

                                        To whom it may concern

I have taken a loan from HSBC (personal loan) in the year 2007. The EMIs were getting deducted properly until Feb 09. Suddenly, due to incorrect submission of information to my other back the EMI was not getting deducted though I have sufficient balance in my account. I have tried talking to the Customer service department but no use. Now because of their fault my CIBIL history is completely gone. I need to know how can I file a complaint and claim compensation for all the harrasment I had to go through.

                                        Please help.
