Sir/Madam,

Since I am living outside India for the last 2 years, I had called up HSBC in August 2008 requesting them to cancel my credit card. I paid off all the outstanding amount and they told me that they have taken the request to cancel the credit can. This was done through phone banking, using the Phone PIN.

Now after 7 months my they call me up saying that I have to pay 5000 Rs, towards the outstanding amount ont he same closed credit card. When I told them that I had cancelled it, they say they do not have nay records that I have cancelled it.

What should I do in this case?

hsbc gold credit card — Too much outstanding dues on my credit card

Hi have a HSBC Gold Credit Card, and around 14 months back I did some credit purchase on my card for approx. Rs. 46,000. After that due to some financial crisis, I have been paying the minimum due on my card every month without fail, though i missed the due date some time (twice). But despite paying the monthly payments for the last 12 months, the outstanding on my card is ncreasing rapidly and now it is almost double of what I have actually spent on my card. I talked to the HSBC custome care for full and final settlement and they said that I will be blacklisted after the full and final.
Now I don't understand what to do, if I settle my dues, I will be blacklisted, and paying the whole outstanding will be like getting cheated of my hard earned money. Please advice

    Hi,
    My name is Sanith Erankandy, i am from pune. I am holding an HSBC credit card, which i have not used since May 2008. I was being charged for not using that credit card which i was not aware of. Because when i got the card i was told this is free of cost and no additional or anual charges will charged to me. Previously i had one more HSBC credit card which got expired after that they had sent me this card which i didnt even ask for, for which i am being harassed because i am not using it. Now after 10 months HSBC calls up from [protected] and says i have an outstanding amount of Rs 6000 because i wasnt using the card and they closed my account in sept 2008. I tried calling the local number that i had, to enquire and complain about the same at [protected]. After calling this number one of the representative said they dont have the details and need to contact the collection office. They then gave me the collection office number [protected], i called up at the collection office number and the representative said that she cant help and i need to call the billing person named PRAMOD and gave his number [protected]. I tried a lot but nobody responded. I want to get rid of this card, please advice how we can complain about this situation and get it resolved.

      Hope you are doing good.

      I am a credit holder of HSBC Bank. I had a good credit card history

      Unfortunately my card got lost/stolen.When I realised it I immediately blocked the Card. Now when I logged in online, I could view there was some transaction over it, at once I called up them and asked them to raise a dispute over it. But due to their ambiguous and incordial handling of this issue, I was finally able to raise a dispute within 20 days of the transaction and I have the confirmation of it by mail.

      They told me it takes 30-45 days for its process. Now after 30 days, on constant asking for the status I was told that they cant chargeback the member bank and they are considering it as MBB(Misuse before blockage) instead of dispute

      Now they are saying that I have to pay the amount.
      But I havent authorized the transaction . I should not be liable . Again inspite of dispute process being on they have charged interests over it.

      Contacting them has been a harassment for me. Can you please help me with your expert advice. What is the RBI guideline of the above issue? You can mail me for any clarification.

        HSBC Credit Card No [protected] was cleared of all outstandings and cancelled in Oct' 08, on receipt of a statement of accounts in Feb' 09, which was only charging for the renewal fees, HSBC call center was contacted on 22/2/09, the person manning the call center once again confirmed the cancellation and asked me to ignore the statement of account.

        Inspite of this I continue to get monthly bills and for the last months I have also recieved letters asking me to pay the outstanding or else serious action would be taken .

        I am unable to understand what does HSBC require.

        I'm getting credit card bills even though after cancelling my credit card with no dues.

        HSBC - VISA CREDIT CARD — AFTER FINAL PAYMENT AND CANCELLATION OF CREDIT CONTINUE CHARGING

        VISA CARD NO.[protected]. HSBC HYDERABAD, SOMAJI GUDA BRANCH, AFTER FINAL SETTLEMENT WAS COMPLETED ON JAN 12-2009. DESPITE OF THIS IT IS CHARGING AND MULTIPLYING EVERY MONTH.( THEIR SYSTEMS MISTAKE). WITHOUT SENDING ANY STATEMENT OR TELEPHONE CALL. AND AFTER 21 MONTHS ON PHONE THEY STARTED THREATING TO CARD HOLDERS FAMILY MEMBERS (WHILE CARD HOLDER IS STAYING ABROAD AND NOT INDIA FROM LONG TIME ) TO PAY THE CHARGES CALCULATED BY SYSTEM ( WHILE ALL PURCHASES PAYMENT WAS SETTLED). THIS IS ONLY THEIR SYSTEM MISTAKE AND IT IS MULTIPLYING. EVRY MONTH AND THEY ARE NOT READY TO LISTEN ANY THING.
        KINDLY REQUESTED TO REMOVE ALL THIS NON PAYMENT CHARGES CALUCALTED BY THE SYSTEM.

          REMINDER 1

          Dear Sir/Mam,

          My self Sanjay Kr Dhyani has used the credit card no [protected] for approx 2 years, I had settel the a/c on said amt by call center and after few months i got a call from the colection department and they collected another approx Rs 300/- from my Delhi place around a year back and got the recipt for the same and also i have submitted my 4 peice broken card at drop box of Jaipur branch.

          After settelment i have paid that amt because as per them the settlement letter will be issue after depositing the Rs 300/- and as a year pass on i havent got the settlement letter and this is not enough instead of that i m getting the statement on monthly basis and as on date the balance amt Rs 9900/- approx which was increasing month by month propotionally.

          I had recived the several call from the call center people and every time i have to repeat the same thing to each call but of no use.

          Today i have visited the HSBC Jaipur office and met with Mr Chandan Singh and as per him he dont have any record of mine as it was not is in his location.

          I request and hope to get the complete a/c statement from the day one the card used (princeple amt) to till date along with the payment paid to bank and if there is any priceple amt dues of mine i m ready to pay for that

          As i m Jaipur based now so its not possible for me to go to Delhi and get the case resloved so i also request to transfer the case to jaipur OR contact with my brother detail are follows:

            Dear Sir,

            I wish to inform you three years back I was using HSBC credit card and when I applied for this card I was told this card is free of cost and there is no annual charges. But after completion of one year when I got statement there was annual fee charges in the statement. I called up HSBC and asked about the charges then they said this card was free only for first year, now you have to pay annual charges, then I said if you will charge annual fee I don’t need this card you may cancel this card.

            On dated 02/08/2008 I got a letter from HSBC regarding some dues pending on me of Rs. 3, 318.24, there were some telephone number given for assistance, I called up on those number but they were not having any proper information about this letter or about any such dues from my side. They suggested me to call HSBC customer care number and get details. I called up HSBC customer care number but they told me as my card has been canceled so they can’t provide me any details. Again I called up on the number which was given in the letter and explained the issue, then they given me Noida telephone number to talk, I called up there and explained them about this issue, they took my details and told they will contact me after getting all the details related to this card number.

            After that I never received any update on this but all of sudden now from last month they have started sending statement and its showing outstanding of Rs. 7025.63

            I request to you kindly help me to come out of this, I assure you, I never used card after completion of first year and I was thinking my card would be canceled and charges would be reverted. But I think they canceled the card without reverted the charges.

            Pls suggest me what I should do in this regard.

            HI,
            i am HSBC customer from past so many years, and my recent card, i was using my Cerdit card feb 2008, while i got my card it was promised to me that it was a life time free card and no annual fees are any charges will be applicable, but recently i received my statement in which a service charge of 700 and some other charges where put on me.
            i did not make the payment in the month of April, (only the extra charges other then that i paid every thing)and in may a late payment fee was charged then the total amount come up to 1400 INR, i called customore care, they adviced me to make the full payment, and close the account and my extra amount will be refund to me, but now the customer services are deny, and they told will not pay my money back and put me on hold for more then 1/2 hrs and more, and final the answer we can not help you and go do what ever you want

              HSBC Credit Card — credit card charges on unused card

              Respected Sir,
              I have never used a credit card as of now. An HSBC executive( Indu) had approached me saying she had a petro card( i although later understood it to be a crdit card).She gave me all the details also ensured no charges ll be charged i[censored]nused..
              Since i wanted to confirm i never removed the card from the leaflet.But the same expeceted thing happened i received a bill of Rs 300plus. I immediately called upon the personnels tto cancel my card.Since it was a betrayal by the company.
              Later on they have added know what..and my outstanding bill today is 5000/..(Although the card remains cancelled)

              The recovery persons call every day.Pl help.how d i go about it.

                It is very regretful to mention that inspite of repeated reminders and personal visit to your Ahmededabad office, I am unable to get a service from your end.

                Few years back say in year 2002 I had settled my credit card outstanding laon and till date i have not been issued a clearance certificate, due to which I am facing lot of problems in my present financial dealings. in this connection I have represented in person to your Ahmedabad office and I was told that my account is settled and shows zero by your customer care department. The customer care has told me that the clearance certificate will be issued shortly and the same will be forwarded to your residence address and to my suprise that this is all happening since last November 2008.In this connection I have tried a lot of times to meet the collection Incharge of your Ahmedabad office but he is not interested to meet me nor ready to help me in this connection.


                May I request you to look into the matter and arrange to issue me a CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE against the settlement of the aforesaid credit card account at the earliest. I have undergone a lot of mental stress in this matter and lot of my financial dealings and financial queries are pending due to the certificate I look forward to have the clearnace certificate within next 7 working days or I will be compled to take the matter with consumer forum and other legal departments at your cost.

                Dear Sir,

                HSBC Credit Card sales executes... forcefully convince us that the card is a free life time card, as the company i am working for has an Corporate tie up...
                So land up taking a Credit Card in MAY-08.
                I suddenly receive a Stetment from HSBC requesting me to pay a amount. Till then I have never used the card for any transaction. I called the customer service to enquire about the matter. The Customer service representative replied back that it was a charge for Insurence Policy but i have never apply for insurence and not get me.
                All of a sudden after 10 Month i recieved a statment which states that i have an outstanding amount of Rs 8, 288.26,
                Above that the Call Center executives and Bank People are not helping me to find out the complete break up of the the outstanding amount...
                This is a big Pain...

                May I request you to look into the matter and arrange to issue me a CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE
                I have undergone a lot of mental stress in this matter.

                  Hi Team,

                  I am the customer of the HSBC bank and I have PowerVantage Account which I have created in promotional offer for life time 0 balances validate. Offer for our company employee only. Our company name is xxxxx ltd located at Gandhinager xxxx. This office came before 4 year. When see the my bank mini statement for the HSBC ATM that time I shocked so see the charged 842.70 in 29oct2009 and 842.70 in 28Jan2009 for per quarter for non maintenance of AQB .Total 842.70+842.70=1684 Rs deducted from my account


                  One more problem I have with my debit card I lost and I block that card and still you charges for two cards
                  168.45 RS Fee/Chares 29 Nov2008 and again 168.45 RS Fee/Chares 29 Nov2008 second lost cards

                  Iwas opened an account 2005 that time there is no minimum balance. Now that bank debit 842.70 INR per quarter in my account.

                    I had taken a loan from HSBC in 2006 and subsequently I was offered a top up loan provided I agree to reschedule the current loan to the original tenor. On agreement I was given the new loan but the old EMI was not charged to the proper account due to a mix up by the bank itself. Though I kept them informed and was following up with the bank it put my name into CIBIL and now they say that I must pay them the complete amount. Since it is the mistake of the bank I want my name removed from CIBIL so that my credit rating is not damaged due to the mistake of a representative of the bank. I would like to know how to go about this since I find that this is unethical on the part of the bank.

                      I have a HSBC credit card no [protected]
                      I dropped HDFC cheque 798463 on 5th march. But on 12 march I received a call from ur executive that HSBC haven't get my cheque. He requested me that my excecutive will come on 13th March and will collect cheque but when on 13th March that means today when I called ur executive again he told me ...sorry today our executive is unavailabe so tomorrow he will come and collect cheque.
                      So pls make sure ur excecutive will collect cheque tommorow and pls don't make late charges on my next statement. because i am paying my bill on right time.
                      This is ur fault that cheque have missed from ur side.

                      I am geting a statement from last 1 12 year for credit card which was issue of my name and after issue that was closed . Hsbc costmer care says ignour that but in civil this is reflecting , so I want to finish that pls help me.

The settlement amt is 2 times ie., 4,500 and 9,000. The cheque of 4,500/-is passed from my Bank. The balance amt is deposited in my back Feb 5th date. After some months back ur representive call me and I give him Rs.3,000 ,the receipt is in my hand.He says he will settle the problem after some time. After he dont call him again. There fore the balance amt of 6,000 only .I have settled only this amt. Please contact me .

                      Credit Card — Payment Issue

                      I have swiped from HDFC credit card no. [protected] for RS. 25000 and i was paying my dues on time but for last one year i m cheated by HDFC collection Dept. before 8 months one of your executive (Jayesh)called me for due and he was taking minimum amount from me every month and i was asking him for statement but he was neglecting i have called customer care for this but no response i was asking jayesh that take that amount which will get deducted from my outstanding but he was taking only interest i think so, i have all Receipt, once he sent me a Statment that too Xeroz of same copy which was nothing in that after that i called him but he used abusive langauge to me and my mother when i was not at home and one of his executive named Mhatre he gave me Bad words and after that he stop calling me i than for 1 or 2 month not paid my dues because no call from HDFC executive or no statment.
                      After wards from Chandivli Branch Mumbai Mr. Sanjay called me and i did my settlement for Rs.20800 for six months per month 3800 but i was unable to pay whole amount of 3800 because my mother is very serious so i told SANJAY that i will half the amount n at last month i will clear my settlement amount so every month from October 2009 Sanjay was sending his executive for collection i was paying 1500 ot 1750 every month. March was my last month for settlement.
                      On march 28th 2010 i called SANJAY for paymnet he told me to pay 1500 this month and all remaining amont of settlement next that is on May 2010. He told me after paying 1500 i will extend your settlement period for next 1 or 2 month and your salary will not go on hold i told him i will clear my remaining next that is on May 2010
                      I have a salaried account of HDFC my paymnet was debited on 31st march and i have withdraw some amount but on 5th April 2010 my salaried was on HOLD without any noticed i was calling SANJAY but he was not picking up my phone everyday i tried 100 times then i visted VASHI branch on 7th April 2010 then i called from there to Credit card Dept they requested my complaint n told that after 2 days you will get a call from executive than you can solve your queries, i got a call from HDFC DEBT Dept from MR Sachin and i ask him why my salary was on hold, than he told me that because your settlement is ended on March 2010 your settlement letter is voided (cancelled) but i told SACHIN that SANJAY told me that he extended my Settlement period for next that is MAY 2010 and SACHIN is now saying my outstanding is of RS.29000 i was shocked to hear that i called SANJAY from different that is from my cousin brother mobile no. than he picked up my phone i told SANJAY that my salary is on hold and now HDFC Bank is saying my outstanding is RS. 29000, but SANJAY told me that no you pay just RS.5000 this month till 30th April your settlement is Finished, i told SANJAY 10 times after calling again to HDFC Debt DEPT that they are saying your settlement has been cancelled but SANJAY is still saying yesterday i called him that pay remaining settlement amount i.e. Rs. 5000/- I told SANJAY you have promised me that your settlement is extended than why my salary is gone on HOLD but wht he replied that i don't know it is from Chennai branch how can he say that he don't know it was his duty to say after MARCH 2010 your Settlement is cancelled as i was not paying whole amount of RS. 3800 but he said that pay Rs. 1500 this month and rest on April 30th 2010.
                      That means he has cheated me Till now i have paid Rs. 10100 + my salary whis is on hold of RS. 6300 that means total i have paid Rs. 16400 remaining amount of settlement is RS. 4400 I have a receipt of RS 10100 that too 4 of them from different stamp on it and rest is from different financial services but collection is done from one Agency that SANJAY was calling from, sometimes SANJAy was sending his executive to my resident address for collection and at home only my Old Mother and Father is there i was calling home and was saying HDFC executive is coming give so much amount, I was trusting SANJAY and he has cheated me.
                      For last 1 Year i am so fustrated mentally by HDFC executive collection that i am unable to have FOOD, Sleep i am very much tense as my Mother is not feeling well and now my Salary is on Hold i have no money to take Medicine to my Mother She is Suffering from BP, Heart problem.
                      You think from my side that how much i have been tortured by HDFC executive.
                      Please look into this matter very URGENT i am not going to pay RS.29000 as i am paying every month. I will pay only remaining amount that is RS. 5000 or some RS. 4400.
                      And Please don't put my Salary on HOLD in future i am ready to pay remaing settlement amount.

                      Yesterday i called SANJAY and told i will pay RS. 5000 or RS. 4400 in cash but i want Last letter that you have cleared all your outstanding and SANJAY told that i will give you letter.

                      Please look into this matter very URGENT other wise i am going to CONSUMER Court as i have all Receipt and how much torturteness face from HDFC Collection DEPT.

                        I was working in Quinnox Consultancy Services, Pune. HSBC Software Development Pvt. Ltd. outsources its Testing job to Quinnox. Since, HSBC is Quinox's client, we were offered a Credit card from HSBC with NO CHARGES whatsoever due to "special tie up" between Quinnox and HSBC Bank, India. I had taken a Credit card for self, also, an add on card was provided "free of charge". I was told that after one year you will receive calls regarding satisfaction of the product.

                        I opted for the card as it was free and carried no liability. The subject of membership fees was mentioned in the documents along with the card, but the agent who provided me the cards told us that these fees are applicable to normal customers not to "special customers".

                        No calls came to me from HSBC and no SMS.As I do not use credit card, the card remained unused.

                        Since, I don't use the card, i never bothered to look into the e-statements that came to my email address.

                        Suddenly in January 2009, 16 months after the card was issued, I get a SMS that i am liable to pay around 2000 Rs. When i ring up the call center they say the charges are Membership charges along with the late fees for both cards.

                        The agent advised me to call the collection center. When called the collection center, they told me to call back the Call center. I repeated the whole story again to the agent, I was put on hold for 15 minutes with no response. They threw their hands in air and said they cant do anything.

                        The company never bothered me to inform that I was being charged. Also, what happened to the special tie up and special customer thing. The SMS are coming every month, but no calls are coming.

                        It is a complete mental trauma to me as I have lost my job and over this new liabilities are added.

                          Hi,

                          My card was used by some unknown person, this information has brought to my notice by HSBC bank itself by phone call. I asked them to block the card and trace the person. They confirmed me that I will not be charged and they do the enquiry. I have provided the full information for enquiry. I had so many fights with the HSBC team. Now i am getting bill with late payment and interest every month. I am not getting any concerned person.

                            KIND ATTN : Manager, Credit card Services

                            On 8th March 2009 I purchased merchandise for Rs.6460 in Comfy, an Addidas Exclusive show room at T.T.K.Road, Chennai-18. I gave my HSBC Platinum card No. [protected] to the store Manager for payment. He returned back the card to me stating that the card is blocked, much to my embaresment.

                            I absolutly have No dues as per my statement dt.25.02.2009. When I called up HSBC Customer care this morning ( 09.03.2009 ) Mr.Govinda Rao tried to hush up the whole thing, by giving some vague reasons. He has promised to reverse the penalty, when none existed in the first place. He asked me to call again on 11th March to confirm the same.

                            Since I dont have the time to call up again, please do the needfulo immediatly and confirm the same by email, if you want me continue using the HSBC card.

                              Unauthorised transactions made using debit card for the HSBC account for INR 49167.50. I was a victim of incident of theft while travelling in train from Delhi to Pune by Goa Express (2780). Two unkown co poisoned me and took away all my valuables including the HSBC NRI Debit Card at 9pm 23rd Sept 07 near Agra Station. I was unconcious for about 20 hours and I lodged the F.I.R for the theft on 24.09.07. I informed HSBC about the stolen card on 25.09.07 as I was unconscious for 20 hours. After 7 days, I saw unauthorised transactions for INR 49, 167.50 dated 28.09.07. I wrote 2 letters to HSBC 20th Nov 07 and 10th Dec 07 and 12.02.08. HSBC refunded Rs 1742.50 Only. I refused to accept this offer By writing on 12.03.2008. 25.09.07 to inform the theft of debit card, the advisor confirmed the last transaction 26, 486.00 for HDFC bank and assured me that the card has been blocked and no further transaction will be authorised. •The transactions appearing on my account on 28.09.07 actually happened on the 24.09.07 somewhere in indore (As informed by HSBC personnel) – these were clearly fraudulent as I was with Bhusawal Police all day on 24.09.07. – A Copy of the FIR was supplied to HSBC on 08.10.07. •I informed HSBC on 25.09.07 with the date and time of theft and also pleaded that transaction made since 23.09.07 should not be authorised. Still HSBC authorised the transactions on 28.09.07. •I opted for the HSBC debit card as a secure mode of transaction that cant be used without the PIN. HSBC never highlighted this fact at the time of issuing the card and the card was misused.The culprits who used my card are arrested by Delhi Police Crime branch.                               Crime Branch Delhi. I requested the transaction slips by HSBC and gave a letter in writing to the NOIDA branch where I hold my account. I did not receive any response from HSBC in1.5 yrs.

                                I have been getting HSBC credit card company's letter to pay Rs.100, which I have not used. In December, I believe this was sorted out through email with their company representative. I have a copy of these emails. Now since the 20 days I have 2 physical letter asking me to pay due. I have not used their card for more than 2 months now. Please let me know the next process.

                                Similar experience from number of HSBC card holders. In my case, I was not served with any monthly notice for payment and when asked for it, the same was sent to me by speed post. Now, the company is asking for the interest, even though I have paid the amount immediatly on receipt of the notice by speed post. In principle I am of the opinion that no such delayed payment charges are to be paid when the company is at fault. Let us see the response of the company.

                                been cancelled and i need not pay any money. Now again after
                                some time their collection agents are calling me and asking
                                me now to pay towards the same policy as interest
                                charges, Where in i have never
                                approached TATA AIG to buy any policy nor i ever swiped my
                                credit card. The policy was purchased by bank with out
                                taking my signatures. Presently I have received a mail from
                                hsbc which mention a fake signature of myself I have very
                                feared for this type of cheating they have misused my credit
                                card number and personal details to raise a false policy in
                                my name and want to extract money.
                                I have just a single request. Please waive of these

                                  This is regarding the problem which occurred recently in my credit card account ************5299. The problem is as follows.
                                  1. I applied for a loan on phone (emi conversion) for a transaction of Rs.95000/- thru internet banking on HSBC website.
                                  2. I called phone banking to confirm the same and during the same course of time I was told that I had to make a payment of Rs.22192 towards advance interest for 24 months to get the LOP processed. I didnt do it as I wasnt interested so I called to cancel my request as I did not want to make the adv payment but to my surprise the request got processed without my consent, and an amount of Rs.22192 has been added to my existing outstanding. I have the print out of the entire terms and conditions with me and its not mentioned anywhere that I had to make any advance payment towards the interest charges. So I was told that the LOP taken can be preclosed but preclosure charges would be applied for which I had agreed as I didn have any choice as I was crossing my credit limit and I will have to bear another charge called overlimit charges. Now the LOP has been preclosed and charges of 2850 plus service tax have been levied In addition to this I had also been charged 2 % processing charges 1900 plus service tax. Effectively I had to pay an amount of abt Rs.6000 without taking any services as this(Rs.95000/-) transaction fall in the latest months statement to be generated on 7th march and to be paid on 29th March.
                                  This is pure cheating by HSBC as they are taking me for a ride and I had to pay Rs.6000/- just like that.

                                    I am holding HSBC credit card from last 2 years, now it has expired on February 2009. From last 4 months I have been trying to contact bank to settle my account balance. But whenever I tried to contact the bank I got the reply that you need to speak to customer care. From the customer care I got several telephone numbers of debt settlement department, one of them is[protected] where nobody replies. Now since my card has expired, bank has charged between that period more than Rs. 3000 interest charges and late payment fees. I want the bank to reverse the charges levied and settle my account without any further legal implications.

                                    I am holding HSBC credit card from last 8 years, I would like to bring to your attention that, Iam recieving a call from HSBC for past one year, stating that i have a balance amount to be paid, the amount was detected for TATA AIG policy, i have not purchased any TATA aig policy, However, the bank officials are not understanding about the issue. I neither have a TATA AIG policy nor have apprached for one. This issue is happening for over a year now. If at all the payment on my card is for a insurance policy, then there should be an applicable transaction number or policy number in my name in your creditable database. I am repeatedly getting calls from your bank to settle the dues for which I am not accountable.

                                      After inquiry bank staff said statements are directed through courier service, The courier service has not

                                        Reasons why you should avoid opening account with HSBC NRI services:

                                        1) The sales agent who would pursue you to open premier account with 10 lakhs Rupess, this is absolutely wrong fact given by the sales agents appointed by HSBC NRI services. You will realise the actual amount is 25 lakhs for premier account . So don;t ever get in trap of sales agents who are there to somehow get business by manipulation. They would lie to you all the time just to make you sign application. ( I was trapped by their sales person who promised and got me signed for 10 lakhs to go with premier account and came back to my work country. Later I couldn;t locate him on phone and HSBC Andheri intimated me that it is 25 lakhs which are required for premier account else I will be penalised.

                                        Second phase of trouble starts once you have opened account:

                                        2) There is no one to answer your querry, all that you would talk to is telephone banking agents, who would just note down the message but no coordination with their operations.                                         4) You cannot transfer your money among your joint account, there is restriction, which is unwarranted or unexplained.

                                        5) There are unknown and arbitrary FCY charges which are never explained.

                                        6) If you are back to your work country outside India, you cannot use your account by any means, unless you leave your checks with your friends or relatives in India.

                                        7) There are high conversion charges when you use debit card overseas. You loose lot of money.

                                        8) The statement will come to you 2 months after it being printed. It is delayed by so many days or week when it actually hits the post office for further delivery to your address.

                                        9) HSBC NRI services will paste less amount of postal stamp so either your delivery will be delayed or you will never get the post from them. IN my case actual stamp required was 25 Rs but the stamp pasted was only Rs 20. Moreover letter hit franking machine ( with insufficient amount of stamp) after 1 month of its issue date.

                                        10) My account became dormant though necessary transactions were taken place. However it was only 1 or 2 transactions which I could make in year. But as per official records dormant status is posted only if there are no transactions for 2 years. I made transaction in Oct 2008 but the dormant status was showing till December 2008. The account can only be lablelled inactive if it has not done any transaction for one year. The information of account being so called "dormant" was received by me after two months. Total confusion and distortion of real facts. There is no one to hear you.

                                        But most HSBC NODAL OFFICE, vice president Nri services are unaware of diffrentiation between "dormant" and "inactive" words.

                                        The only good thing about HSBC is they have internet banking ( which is unusable for any transaction) except for paying bills, coupled with tall claims like " you will be treated in priority" for premier accounts.

                                        11) Be ready to face their staff or tele banking agents who are just high school or university dropouts.

                                        12) If you happen to visit their branch in Andheri or any other place be prepared to answer irrelevant questions by novice who are working with little knowledge about banking.

                                        13) Be prepared to receive canned and automated messages which will not help you, but will keep you in indifinate trap. You cannot get any intelligent human factor to help you . So there is no point writing or emailing to them sitting 10000 kms away from home branch.

                                        Only good thing about HSBC bank is neatly dressed staff with ties, with the word " Sorry" & " I apologise" while being ignorant of anything across the table or phone. Their training is all about ranting the words Sorry and I apologise.

                                        I have forwarded my complaint to President Hsbc and Nodal officer so many times, but there is no proper response.

                                        So if you want to loose your time and money please use HSBC NRI SERVICES, or just be on your own once you deposit or transfer your money. You can withdraw your money with great hardship only when you visit India.

                                        Your money is struck and there is no one to answer you. So just be careful before considering to open account with HSBC NRI SERVICES.

                                        AVOID THEM, OR LOOSE YOUR TIME AND ENERGY. YOU CAN'T BE DOING JUSTICE WITH YOUR MONEY IF YOU DEAL WITH THEM.                                         HSBC Banking — Banking Fraud by HSBC Bank

                                        I am a HSBC savings account with number[protected] customer for the past years. It was opened as a Salaried Account and till 2006, salary used to get credited to this account and I did not need to maintain any balance but after that, I had to go for higher education and I was without pay for next 2 years. About 1.5 years back, I enquired at local HSBC branch in Chandigarh that my salry wont be credited henceforth, so I would close my bank account if I needed to maintain any minimum balance. I was assured that Savings Account is still a Savings Account and I should not worry.

                                        Now, suddenly, charges have been levied for the last quarter for not maintaining the minimum balance WITHOUT ANY COMMUNICATION.

                                        FAULT lies at HSBC end, I want to lodge a legal complaint:

                                        1) For not working ethically and for not maintaing any proper records.
                                        2) For not communicating anything to the Banking Customers.
                                        3) For case of fraud.

                                        I have been communicating to HSBC about their faults but they have been denying it vehementky and playing with Customer`s money. Their Argument is that we have been doint it to( OR duping) all the customers like this, so you should also pay us the money. I request on behalf of all the poor customers who have suffered from the frauds of a Foreign bank. They are playing with people` ignorance and their hard earned money is going in a foreigner`s hand.

                                        This in regard to ICICI branch at Kalina Santacruz west. This branch has been giving headaches to the customers in regard with the token that is provided to the customers. I had entered the bank at 10.10am for enquiry of forieghn currency n was waiting for the past 45 min n still my token was not flashed on the token machine, when i inquire i ve been told that this branch does not have this forieghn facility. Before me other customers too were waiting to deposit thier cash n they too had to wait for thr past 30 to 45mins. After enquiring they r told deposit the amount in n quick cash envolope.I mean !! is this customer service?after waiting for so long ur told that they dont ve this service of NRI or deposite the cash after waiting for 30 forty mins in envolope??? If they dont have the service atleast dont waist our time waiting n then going empty handed..Horible service ICICI has...N the Staff specialy, r not even ready to accept their fault...I ve seen in this particular branch I.E kalina ICICI branch the staffs r just seating n are not bothered to check on their customers to see whether their systems r proper if theres any difficulty with anyone?? nothing!! they r not borthred at all..
                                        I mean its better to ve an account in some local bank where theres atleast 1stcome 1st service!!! rather waiting for 30 to 45 min n then knowing that ur going to return empty handed..
                                        Instead of giving fake promises i feel the bank should check theri exixting situation n then promise or provide the rest, , , Remember if 1 customer goes back there are ten customers that go back too...
                                        NRI's DON"T TAKE LOAN FROM HDFC BANK TO BUY PROPERTY IN INDIA .

                                        MY REPEATED MAILS TO THEM HAS GONE UNANSWERED . I REPENT NOW FOR TAKING 40LAKHS LONE .

                                        I AM NOW PLANNING TO SEND THIS MAIL TO ALL NRI FORUMS/GROUPS, SO THAT ALL OF THEM SHOULD THINK TWICE BEFORE APPLYING FOR LOAN WITH HDFC.

                                        HSBC NRI SERVICES - REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD AVOID USING IT — HSBC MANIPULATION, WRONG SELLING PRACTICES, FRAUD

                                        Reasons why you should avoid opening account with HSBC NRI services:

                                        1) The sales agent who would pursue you to open premier account with 10 lakhs Rupess, this is absolutely wrong fact given by the sales agents appointed by HSBC NRI services. You will realise the actual amount is 25 lakhs for premier account . So don;t ever get in trap of sales agents who are there to somehow get business by manipulation. They would lie to you all the time just to make you sign application. ( I was trapped by their sales person who promised and got me signed for 10 lakhs to go with premier account and came back to my work country. Later I couldn;t locate him on phone and HSBC Andheri intimated me that it is 25 lakhs which are required for premier account else I will be penalised.

                                        Second phase of trouble starts once you have opened account:

                                        2) There is no one to answer your querry, all that you would talk to is telephone banking agents, who would just note down the message but no coordination with their operations.                                         I was Holding two credit card o[censored]r bank but ur company gave me call to transfer my whole amount to one card but only credit limit was transfered but not the debit outstanding of my one card as a result one statement showed me Rs.28000 debit and other showed Rs.26000 Cr i gave call a lot of time but was kept on hold for 15-20 mins for 10 times but was of no avail.
                                        Now what had haapen is that i had received new statment from ur Account in which 26000 Cr closing balance has turned to 30000 Dr opening balance leading to Difeerence of Rs.56000 in closing balance and opening balance for this difference also i gave a lot of calls and also gave written letter but of na avail .i even meat ur Assitance manager of credit card for the same but noting is done by you.

                                        I request you to kindly look in aforesaid matter or i would be forced to go legally against you.
                                        Any ways as per text of letter submitted to you i have stop payment of aforesaid card

                                        My experience of HSBC NRI services is wonderful. They are efficient, courteous and provide great customer service.

                                        HSBC — Poor Service

                                        I had submitted a letter of conversion, to the HSBC MG road Branch, Bangalore in the last week of March 2009. The letter was to convert my existing HSBC a/c into a zero balance salary a/c. The bank converted the a/c and in the middle of April closed the a/c without any notice. I visited the branch and asked for a reason for the closure, but no one knew why. This is unacceptable from one of the biggest banks in the wolrd.
                                        I also opened NRI account in SBI (Six months before), I ever and never seen the proceesing delay as well as document delivery which includes check and pass book ...and also no response from the concerned baranch, woorst service for NRI'S...
                                        Only solution is to KICK OFF HSBC
                                        One shocking news is that one employee of NRI services, who is employed at croydon branch of HSBC, London, is checking the bank accounts of her relatives and creating troubles between the family members.She is acting as if she is the sole authority of HSBC Bank.Her name;?
                                        They did the same for my Dormant account thing. Their money transfer rates are too bad. They start gift intiative but provide bad quality stuff. Overall its best not to work with HSBC NRI account.

                                        Credit card # [protected].....HSBC sucks....and recent experience with bank forced me to cancel my card and also planning to close my banking account as well......They have one of the worst customer service i have experienced and recent experience with Ravi and Dinesh left me fuming with anger.....and frustration.

                                        I have requested for cancellation and they issued me replacement
                                        I wanted to speak with supervisor but even for this, they want us to first do a verfication....unfriendly protocols
                                        I wanted no due letter and that is too big a deal for them.....
                                        I wanted call back, they refused and asked me to call back after 30 minutes......

                                        The customer phone service is very poor , no one can really fix the problem. I tried many times but still they could not find the solution. Any lady on phone told me to call back again and we will fix the problem and when i phoned back someone else answered the phone and i had to tell the entire story again and still no solution and the most important the Post from HSBC India take ages to come or probably you not will receive or loose them.
                                        recently they have increased minimum balance required to maintain. now it is 75000. I opened up account with them recently at that time it was 25000 and only after using there services for 2 months I came to know that I have to maintain 75000. They did not made me aware about it.

                                        I complained to RBI ombudsman but nothing happened. Bank replied saying they can change rules whenever they want to change.

                                        I am holding an NRE account with HSBC in India for last 22 years, suddenly they changed the minimum balance requirement (10 time higher) and without informing me of this change merrily started deducting quarterly fees from my account.

                                        Discovered it after 6 months, better stay away from this bank, who are ready to loot you no matter how old a customer you are. Their primary aim is how to get hold of your money in their pocket.
