HSBC Credit Card — non receipt of my cheque

Dear Sir,
Ref: HSBC credit card No.[protected].

I am your customer who maintains a good payment track. This time even though I had made the payment in time, your office had reminded me of a default payment. I had given details of the cheque no. etc. and they could not locate the same.perhaps this might be a lapse from the collection dept. i would request you to check the same and also ensure that I am not penalised .

Regards
Charly

      Hi,

I am having some trouble with the HSBC Credit Card recovery deptt (Infovision). I got a call asking for payment of an amount due for Rs. 10, 000 on my HSBC Credit Card. When i asked for the details of my account as to what has been levied upon me for which i need to pay back, there is no information on it. They just say that i need to pay an amount of Rs. 10, 000 to the HSBC bank.

Initially, on Feb'09, they called me, and asked to settle an amount of Rs. 10, 000 on my Credit Card, and after quite a bit of talk they settled it for Rs. 4, 400. I paid this amount, and after a month (Mar'09), i again get a call saying that there is still a debt of Rs. 10, 000 pending on the same card. When i explain to him that i have already settled it at an amount of Rs. 4, 400 as suggessted by their Customer Care (HSBC - Infovision), they are not ready to accept it. On asking for the details of the credit card purchases, they just put a big 'NO' on it. When giving them the receipt number of the payment done, they say that i need to pay an amount of Rs. 7, 000 now (It sounded strange, as they were not having the details of my account and the amount i paid until i informed them).

Moreover, this card was with me around one and a half year back (Oct'07), and before closing it, i had paid the amount and asked for closing. HSBC did not close it, and i never received any communication on it (through e-mails or phone or letters) and now suddenly after one and half year they come back on it. I am confused what to do, as settling with the rest amount (i.e. Rs 7, 000) is not making much sense until i know what was it that was left and why i was not communicated before through mails on this and when they have already asked me to settle it before for Rs. 4, 400, then why they are coming back on it after a month. If this is the case, then i'll keep continuing to pay them without any details of what i am paying for.

Please help me regarding this as to what action should i take up on this.

I am also facing the similar problem. Istarted using the card in Jun 2006 and stopped using it in April 2007 because i was not getting any statements and it was very difficult to track the purchses without the statements. TO my knowledge I had paid all the dues but after Sep 2007, they have started sending me the statements and told me to pay 3270 Rs. Since I wa not sure what these charges are for, i did not pay for it. Now they have addded my name in the defaulters list and are asking for Rs11400. Please help what I need to do

        Resolved

I, Pooja Kharbanda having credit card number [protected] has applied for the cancellation of card on 31st Dec 2007 and called up around 10-20 times at cancellation department for cancellation of card but the status was not updated by them and card was not cancelled.

HSBC have charged annual fees of around Rs. 2000 on this card which was not told by us at the time of issuing the card and no bank is charging annual fees then how come HSBC charging annual fees and moreover the service is also worst.

I have already called up at customer service/ agency 10-20 times to cancel the card and reverse the amount but they have not taken any action, I am really pissed up with all these stuff, getting calls daily to pay this much amount.

I have not used this card even and the amount has been clubbed to around 6000+ after charging late fees on this annual fees payment. I called up many times to collection department to waive off the charges and clear my account but that is of no use and they talk very rudely and using abusive language.

I have forward this case to nodal officer also but not yet got any satisfactory response.

I am getting calls from collection department to pay this bill but I am not going to pay even a single penny as this is not genuine amount to be paid because I have not made any transactions from this card after I applied for cancellation of card.

HSBC is losing this to there competitors who at-least understand there customers and try there level best to solve there grievance and make them loyal and a part to there big family.

Now at present I am getting numerous HARASSMENTS and THREATENING CALLS from HSBC on the dues of my account. I am holding the amount asking them to release the itemized statement to check transaction of my card but they are not providing any details but I know it is the annual fees they have charged of Rs 2000 inspite of cancellation request given to customer services many times.

Even, they called at my landline no. and use very abusive language with my family members which is not acceptable on behalf of HSBC staff, they don't have courtesy to talk to the customers.

Keeping the above facts in view your goodself is requested to help me out of this problem as I am mentally very disturbed with this.

I request you to do the needful and clear my account by reversing the whole amount otherwise I will have to esclate this issue Banking Ombudsman for mental harassment.

This letter should not fall to deft ears. This is a plea from a bleeding customer.

        HSBC — Mental Harassment

        Please treat this urgent.

I received a call from [protected], [protected], at 5 10 pm on 12/12/08. The lady officer who spoke to me did not introduce herself and asked me if I had paid my Minimum Due for this month. I told her my due date was 2nd Dec and I had dropped a cheque on the 1st of Dec. She immediately told me if you had dropped the cheque why didnt we receive it? Only 2 days it takes to clear and she started to ask the most irrelevant questions in a very harsh tone. I too told her that I am not interested to check with my bank if it had been debited? for which she started saying it will just take 2 mins to check why cant u do it etc. all these unhealthy ways.
Is this CUSTOMER ORIENTED / BASED INDUSTRY OR bank harrasment Industry???????????????????????
Suddenly there was another person on the phone by name Balaji/ Mr. claiming himself to be Asst. Manager but again failed to introduce himsel[censored]nless asked, he was defending his colleague and was also screaming on the other end.

        My Questions to the bank:
Why do you have such offuicers who lose their cool??
Is it not their duty to ask the customer, if it Is The Right Time To speak? Introduce themselves and also speak politely?
Where has all the requesting gone? when their sales man is here to write an application they do all the begging. Why is collections harrasing they use suvch threatening words. Need A solution Please take to an Investigation.

        Re : Credit Card No.[protected]

I am employed with Everest Industries Limited having office at Mumbai. In or about Feb 2006, your marketing representative visited my Thane office and gave demo for the usage features of your card. While I was inquiring about the features of your card, your marketing representative obtained my signatures on some forms and obtained some documents from me for purpose of noting my name as “interested member” for filling inquiry form. Subsequently your Bank Credit Card bearing No[protected] was posted to me at my office address.

I say that without my using your card, your Bank sent me statement for Rs.210/-.approximately. I say that I immediately called your customer care number putting forth my grievance and called upon them to cancel my card and terminate services with immediate effect. I also called upon them to sent me letter for “No claim”, to which they showed their inability and stated that same is granted only in case where there is any dispute above Rs.1000/-, however they assured me that card is cancelled and services are terminated. I say that subsequent thereof, I have not received any statement from your bank till date.

I say that from last about 15 days, I am receiving sms from your bank for payment of Rs.4570/- towards aforesaid credit card pending bills. I had never imagine of such conduct from Big Banking Corporation like yours. I say that without usage of your services, how can I be made and forced to pay charges levied by you. I put forth my grievances with your customer care at Ram Maruti Rd branch, Thane who showed their inability to locate my bills and pending dues. They were also unable to provide me any Bank statement though I was ready and willing to bear the cost for same. I say that I also spoke to Mr.66667070 of your Bank collection centre at Mumbai,[protected] who responded to me rudely as if I am bring defaulter / criminal. I say that thereafter I spoke to your Delhi Recovery Cell at Telephone No[protected]/45023968 with Mr.Basant, who was also not able to resolve to my problem or provide me statisfactory reply.

The said act of your to grab heavy & exorbitant amount from me for no fault of mine speaks of your volumes and attitudes to procure money by adhering to illegal means & making trap for the innocent customers like me.

I am therefore now constrained to put forth my grievance in writing for necessary action and resolution of my grievance. Request you please look into this matter and advise what should be my next step.
        Yours truly,

              Dear Sir,

              Ref. Card No. : [protected]
SUB: - HSBC Credit Card & your department of phishing system.
              - Close this credit card account with immediate affect and clear your all unwanted charges.
              - I never used your card and it’s not printed with correct name.
              - You never change this name and allowed me to use this card.

Your bank is making fool o[censored]s and by force giving a credit card, later you don’t keep any promises as you did while phoning to force a credit card.
And if we try to contact you for some way then a phone call person will tell you to go to any branch and branch will tell you to call the phone line.
Finally without making any effort of giving any service, you just want to settle the account which has been created on paper for not giving any service.

It’s all started from Oct to Dec 2006, when I was getting a regular unwanted call for HSBC card for life time free. You keep forcing and disturbing me and I keep avoiding it.
Finally I agree for life time free card with add on card, credit limit up to 1.5Lac, with life insurance and medical insurance for 5 Lac and so on.
Your staff asked only copy of Rashan card & any credit card statement, later they wanted my running credit card photo copy in front & back, so I refused and asked them to cancel my application, since it was not possible for me to give such information and you can’t make my card without this.
But later you made it without any other proof.
And I got this credit card in August 2007.
This card was printed with wrong surname. HANDA and not my real surname HADA.
The limit was also very low (only Rs. 33000).
So I try to made call for this, but even after waiting for over 15 minute to 30 minute on customer care number, we can’t get any one online, but we are only listening your advertisements and mind that this is a paid line.
And when I got some one than they say that I should contact and nearest branch, and when we contact the branch, they said that I should contact the customer care number or contact online.
Finally I send a mail to online about the credit limit and the wrong surname printed on card.
This was on Aug 2007, and I got reply for the cash limit that you can’t help it, but no reply on wrong surname.
Later I send a mail to cancel the card since it is not up to my requirement, but no reply for that.
Month of Sept 2007, I traveled out of India for business. Later I was called by my wife to tell me that the HSBC has sent a statement for payment.
              This was included
              - Credit Shield Proc Fee, (every month)
              - Repayment protection fee (every month)
              - Service tax (every month)
              - Late payment for above of every month
              - Yearly payment for the card

I asked my wife to call them and tell them regarding the above all, and where it’s come from.
They were asking her to tell me to call and make request personally to wave it. It was not possible for me. (from international call to hold for over 30 minute)
She also told them that I have already requested this card to cancel, so how come suddenly this statement comes after few months?
They send again one more statement with waving all the charges.
Later we did not received any statements until Sept 2008 with opening balance of Rs. 1812.59, now this has started till date (Feb 2009).
All these while HSBC bank keep calling for so many kind of loan, and call can be 3 to 5 times a day.
Mind that my phone line was registered with DND, yet I get call from HSBC bank.

Please tell me why should I pay anything for :
              - Not using this card for any reason
              - Not buying anything from them as a loan.
              - It was forcefully given to me
              - It is a false surname printed on card
              - After giving a life time free card, they are charging yearly fee and around Rs. 33.00 per month, just because you need a customer and need to make money out o[censored]s?

This march 2009, you have multiply the statement to Rs. 5, 507.65

Please stop all this, and cancel this account as I never used you card and this account.
Please don’t tell me to pay anything for such phishing business.

Hope to get some positive reply soon.

              Best regards

HSBC Credit Card — Credit Limit

I am holding a credit card since last one year and few days ago I received call from HSBC regarding some mediclaim insurance for which the premium was supposed to be deducted from the card for which I refused and found that the HSBC has reduced by credit limit by Rs 26,000/- . Now this is very cheap and doesn't suit the bank. Why these people combine the marketing offers with the card.
The Barclays is also doing the same. ICICI is selling its products forcefully.
I agree with you as these things are happening now with most of the banks.

HSBC Credit Card — Wrong HSBC Credit card statement received every month from 2007

This is to bring in your kind attention that I am getting every month card statement that I have not used ur HSBC credit card :” [protected]”. I am requesting you please don’t send me the statement. Many time I have contact with bank and they said me you card has been closed. Now I have contact to collection department and explain them whole history about this card. When I was having HSBC credit card in 2005 that is absolutely free no annual charges is there.
But 2007 in March I have closed my card and also confirm them I don’t want again any statement in future.
HSBC has taken same information and without my permission they issue me New credit card that is i have not received. But from 2 years I have getting a statement that is charged annual fees and I have talked with collection department and they told me you must be pay this amount.
I am requesting you please reverse whole amount and stop sending a statement to me.

I am your credit card holder from aug 2007. I feel sufocated with HSBC bank and have following complaint.

                1) I am not getting statements whenever I use credit card, so that you can charge penalty.

                2) Last 3 months and this months also I did not receive any statement(neither postal nor electronic media)
even giving complaint four times to 4 different HSBC caller's. They asks bill amount without statements.
Last time I dropped a cheque of 13000/- without bill and wrote a letter along with cheque. Checque has been
withdrawen but no reply for statement.

                3) Your phone caller are aurogant people.

                4) I will get a bill statement when there is no amount outstanding.

                5) Even there is no grievences redressal email id on the statement. Most of the credit card bank like Standard
chattered are having. To find this address I had to login to your webside.

                6) In view of above I do feel of getting cheated and would like to discontinue your credit card services.
I do not want to pay any amount because you would have charged lot of penalties and interests by your mistakes,
but as a gentleman I will not do that.

                7) I am breking your credit card into pices and sending to you with hard copy of this mail. You pl.send bill
                statement via any media.

                regards

                Sir/madam

Your reply is not satisfactory due to following reasons:

                1) You have not mentioned minimum ammount due and telling me to do something else to achieve that.

                2) You smart enough to regret the delay in not receiving the statements (Actually it is sending and not receiving).
The term "DELAY" ensures delevery of statements late (how many days?), but I am confirming I did not receive from
last three months (delay cannot justified for 3 months). Whenever amount was to be paid 0.00 RS, I was receiving the
same . Can you give me audited documentary prove and explain me why? Your executives were also regreting the same way
during telephonic talk but because of your fault I had to pay the penalties. Now also I have to pay the penalty till I
receive the statement. earlier Iwas putting the cheque at least eight days before 12th of the month, but you were showing
in the next statement one day late with penalties for late charges. This is accumulative unhappiness I am expressing.
Small mistakes can be forgiven. I am also holding a responsible post in big organisation having M. Tech qualification.
I know very well what is buisiness, but you are doing it in dirty manner.

3)You are sending duplicate copy of the statements (again chargeable) of which I did not receive original one.

                4) Everybody will not have sufficient time all the time to follow other alternatives of which you are taking due advantage.

                5) Please take this mail as to do whatever neccessary to discontinue the card services. I do not want to renew it again
for which date is august 2009. Please do not send a card again to me, otherwise I will have to take this matter to higher
                up including TV show "Paheredaar".

All the best for your business.

                An unhappy customer

                Sir/Madam

                No reply yet?

After so much follow up I received long pending 3 months bill statement that too zerox copy.

Followings are the comments on the bill.

                A) bill dated 19nov08 to 18dec08

                1) I have not received the bill statement at proper time because you have not sent it.

                2) I paid 13000.00 check blindly but bill was 13484.53. I could have paid entire ammount if I would have received
the bill as 13484 and 13000 no much different and avoided penalty and interest.

                B) bill dated 19dec08 to 18jan08

                1) I have also not received this bill statement at proper time because you have not sent it.

                2) I was not awaire of old dues and thought I would have paid entire ammount because of non availabilty of old bill statement.

                3) So whatever penalty and interest is not valid

                4) 17 JAN finance and service taxes are duplicated, so your bill statements are biased and not errorfree.

                C) bill dated 19jan08 to 18feb08

                1) I have also not received this bill statement at proper time because you have not sent it.

                2) I was not aware of old dues because of non availabilty of old bill statements.

                3) So whatever penalty and interest is not valid

                4) 12 feb and 18feb service taxes are duplicated, so your bill statements are biased and not errorfree.

In view of the above discrepancies and intentional neglegence from your end, I am not going to pay the
penalties and interest that you have charged in all three bills. I can pay only the amount I have used for buying.

Therefore you are requested to prepare and send me the original new bill for the amount I have used for
buying purpose reverting back all the penalties and interests.

                regards

                Prafulla D Mahulikar

                Dear Mr. Mahulikar,

                Reference Number[protected]

We refer to your email message dated 21 March 2009 regarding your HSBC
                credit card.

As per statement dated 18 February 2009, your outstanding was INR
17531.05 and due date for the same was 12 March 2009.

Your account has been levied with a late payment fee due to delay in
receipt of this payment. This has been illustrated in the Credit Card
Services Guide shared with you at the time of card issuance.

?With effect from 05 March 2009, the Late Payment Fees will be revised
to 50% of Minimum Amount Due( subject to a minimum of Rs. 400 & a
maximum of Rs. 750 per month?.

As a service gesture, we have reversed the late payment fee of INR
800.00 along with the service tax levied and the credit will reflect in
                your ensuing statement.

We are sorry that we cannot reverse the finance charge levied towards
your card account, Interest - free credit is available if the entire
billed amount is settled by the payment due date. If part payment/no
payment is received by the due date, the outstanding amount from the
date of the statement attracts finance charges at the rate of 3.1% per
month for Gold credit card and 3.2 % per month for Classic credit card
                respectively.

Additionally, all new transactions also attract a finance charge from
the date of posting into the account once the account uses the extended
credit facility. The finance charge is debited on the last day of the
billing cycle and is applied using the "average of daily balance"
                method.

Your Credit Card statement is generated on 18 of every month. While
generation and mailing of the statements are controlled at our end,
there may be instances when you receive a statement late to your mailing
address due to unforeseen postal delays. If you do not receive your
statement within 12 days from your billing date, please contact our
Phone Banking Service on the telephone number on the reverse of your
                Credit Card.

                HSBC also offers e-Statement facility for credit card customers;
statements will be available on your secured Internet Banking id for
your view anytime. You can view your statement without any delay on the
                day it is generated.

Please feel free to write to us if you require further clarification.

                Yours sincerely,

                Dear Mr. Mahulikar,

                Reference Number:[protected]

                1) We refer to your email message dated 28 March 2009 regarding payments
and fee that are incurred on your HSBC Credit Card.

We take this opportunity to inform that late payment fee is levied due
to delay in receipt of payment. This has been illustrated in the Credit
Card Services Guide shared with you at the time of card issuance.

?With effect from 05 November 2007, the minimum Late Payment Fee on HSBC
Credit Cards is INR 400 or 30% of minimum amount due (the higher of,
subject to a maximum of INR 600)?.

Further, the minimum payment due each month is 5% of the closing balance
                indicated on your statement.

Finance charges will apply when there is part payment / non receipt of
payment against the outstanding balance and this charge is calculated on
the total value of the outstanding balance from the date of the
transaction at the prevailing rate of interest as decided by the bank
from time to time and these charges are debited to the account on the
last date of the billing cycle using the ?Average of daily balance
                method?.

All new transactions will also attract a finance charge from the date of
transaction once the ?extended credit facility? has been availed.

As a one time service gesture, we have reversed the late payment fee of
INR 400.00 levied and the credit will reflect in your ensuing statement.

We regret our inability to reverse any further charges levied as the
same is due and payable. Please make complete payment towards your card
outstanding on or before the payment due date to avoid levy of finance
                charges and late payment fee.

                2) We would like to reiterate that non-receipt of statement would not
affect cardholder?s obligations and liabilities as mentioned in the
cardholder agreement. Hence the incremental charges on your account are
                valid.

                3) Please note that whenever the Bank offers credit facility to its
customers, we offer a Card Service Guide detailing the repayment
process, tenure and periodicity of repayment. However, if you do not
adhere to repayment schedule, a defined process in accordance with the
laws of the land will be followed for recovery of dues. The process will
involve reminding you by sending you notice or by making personal visits
/ phone calls and / or repossession of security, if any.

Our collection policy is built on courtesy, fair treatment and
persuasion. We believe in fostering customer confidence and long-term
                relationship.

In order to avoid the collection calls, as an effort of the bank in
recovery of dues, we request you to please effect a minimum payment
towards your credit card outstanding balance regularly.

The total outstanding in your card account is INR 17, 863.50 as on date.

Please feel free to write to us for further clarification.

HSBC Credit Card — Rate of Interest above 5% per month

I think RBI needs to take some action on HSBC credit cards in India.

I hold a HSBC credit card and made a purchase of Rs. 76,375.
I made a minimum payment of Rs 4,000 as per the statement and surprisingly my outstanding balance increased to Rs 77,799.
                Which is disgusting.

Why did my outstanding balance go up inspite of paying minimum payment?

                Here is the explanation...

                Outstanding balance Rs. 76,375.32

Interest on which is Rs Rs. 2326.90 ( @ 3.3 % permonth) This is only for finance charges for last month statement's. (Plus Service tax Rs 239.67)

                I made a payment of Rs. 4000(Credited).

Once again Interest on the current months statement Rs. 2590.81(Plus Service Tax Rs 266.85)

The total of this comes to Rs 77,799.55.

                76,975.32 + 2326.90 + 239.67 + 2590.81 + 266.85 - 4000 = Rs 77,799.55

Isn't this making too much money for Foreign Banks in India.
I'm not sure how many people in India are using this banks services in India.

I'm attaching pic of the statement sent by HSBC recently.

They charge you twice every month that too 3.3% every month.

                Regards,

I have made all the payments of my HSBC Credit Card (Visa) but the Bank keeps on sending me reminder month after month with escalating interest. The last payment made was in Oct. 2007 for Rs. 20, 300/- against my all dues for my credit card. On calling their Phone banking no.[protected]/ 67115687/ 67115639/ 67116251 no satisfactory answer has been given to me. Every contact person has been redirecting me to some other no. including[protected]/ 67116115/ 67115682/ 67115650. Finally I was given the no. of some Gaurav Mehra and his cell no. [protected]. Hello All,
My name is Meera Adolf Timmins, I have a personal loan with HSBC loan #[protected]. I closed my salaried account with HSBC in January '09 and hence requested HSBC to draft the EMI from my HDFC account.
The date for the ECS is 5th of every month, however due to the change HSBC decided to take out the money from my HDFC bank on the 1st causing my other cheques to bounce and this is happening every month due to which I am incurring charges month on month.
When asked HSBC Bank why has the ECS date changed, they informed me that since the bank from which the EMI is withdrawn is no longer HSBC the date has changed to the 1st of every month and this was all done without prior intimation.
I then requested for a copy of the original contract for my reference and sent several emails to the HSBC customer service department and also to the nodal officer; however everyone in HSBC Bank has failed to resolve the issue.
I request for your assistance in resolving this issue with HSBC Bank and getting a reimbursement for the charges that I have to incur due to the negligence and incompetence of HSBC Bank.

I also would want HSBC Bank to remove any negative reporting done to the credit bureau with reference to this loan as I am in no violation of the agreement and to cease and desist from contacting me until the above issue is resolved.

After series of plea to the HSBC Customer care team and the HSBC dispute department to sort out a credit card dispute is in vain. The HSBC credit card that I was holding is since 07/2004 having Card number: 4384 XXXX XXXX XXXX. (Expired on 07/2006 )

                      1) Jun 2005 - I moved to USA and used to access my HSBC credit card account thorough online banking. However after some days HSBC made compulsory use of secure digital device for login into online banking. When I requested HSBC Customer care team to send me the device at my USA address, I was said this can not be delivered to USA address. So I was not able to login to online banking for my credit card. Hence I requested customer care to cancel my card as I was not able to see the transactions in my account. I also ensured that there is no outstanding with my credit card account and was confirmed the same from customer care. Also I was confirmed the request has been taken care and the card will be cancelled.

                      2) Jun 2007 - When I came back from USA, I called up bank to issue me a credit card and to my surprise there was an outstanding of amt Rs. 112944.00 and following this I received a letter from HSBC to pay the dues. After my discussion with customer care team, I was advised to send a written letter to bank mentioning my concerns.

                      3) 07 Aug 2007 - I submitted a written application to bank mentioning my concerns.

                      4) 31 Aug 2007 - I got a response from Bank which was not true for my account and was advised to contact Mr Himanshu Bhattacharjee on[protected] towards settlement of outstanding dues. I called up Mr Himanshu and after waiting for 3 months and calling many times, I was said, this is very old a/c and it is closed and will receive a call back from HSBC. But no one from HSBC called me.

                      4) Finally I registered a complaint with Banking Ombudsman regarding this issue but did not receive any satisfactory response as they wanted an written evidence to prove my request for cancellation of my card. (P.S - I have cancelled 3 credit cards so far but do not have any written evidence. I used to call customer care and the request has been taken care of.)

                      5) 04 Feb 2008- Received a letter from HSBC saying the renewal card was delivered to my mother (She has never been to Thane, Mumbai in her life) which is not true and 3 transactions were mentioned in the letter and those transaction dates are in month of Aug 2006 which is after expiry of my credit card which I was holding.

                      Here is my concern-
 I requested customer support team to cancel my credit card after I reached abroad and I was confirmed that the card has been cancelled.
 If the card was cancelled, then why the renewal card was sent to my address?
 None of my family members was staying at my address during my absence in the above mentioned periods (Jun 2005- Jun 2007), so the question is how it was delivered to my mother at my mailing address though she was not available here.
 Also When I received my HSBC card for the first time, I was asked for Photo ID card by the courier person. Then why the renewal card was delivered without seeing my photo id?
 Also I updated the bank my USA address along with telephone number before canceling the card. But the bank never contacted me at my USA address or called me. Only when I came back to India and called up bank, I came to know there is an issue.

                      6) 25 Feb 2008 - Banking Ombudsman advised to approach some other forum for this issue.

                      7) Sept 2008 - I moved to USA and came back in March 2009,

                      8) March 2009 - I received another letter from HSBC for an outstanding amount of Rs. 229, 209.77 from the bank.

To put a note to this I just wanted to inform that I do not have any outstanding dues from any bank so far.

 I had 2 Personal loans from Citibank and Standard charted and Loan accounts closed successfully after the payment.
 I had Credit card with ICICI, Citibank and Barclay. However now I have cancelled these credit cards after this issue with HSBC and there is no outstanding. Also I do not want to go through the mental harassment like this by using these credit cards.
 I have a home loan with ICICI bank and installments are being paid without a delay.
 Also in USA I have a very good credit score (780)

I would appreciate if you could look into this matter and advise what should be my next step.

HSBC Credit Cards — Credit card not received

After having filled in the Credit card form in the 1st week of March, 2008, I underwent several rounds of verification, including one from Chenai. I did not however, receive my credit card, nor was I intimidated regarding the same, through any means whatsoever.

HSBC Credict Card — Renewal card issue!

                      Hi,

My card had expired on Sept 30th 2008. From that time I have been calling the customer care complaining that I wanted my renewed card. They said it is being couriered to my office address. But usually any corporate office they wont receive any personal credit card delivery of an employee.

I had called and informed them to send it to my residence. They asked me to raise a request for it and call them after 24hrs to make a request to send the card to my residence.

I had called again and did the same as what was told. I had a good reputaiton in paying the credit card payments on time till october. But i had informed them that I want my card till then I wont pay the balance.

But they kept adding late payment and interest on it. So I called and blasted at them that I wanted my card and they reversed my late payment etc.

But till today I have not received my card. So what I did is that I settled the full balance in the card and told them to close my account with HSBC forever.

I have not seen such a pathetic service ever. Whey they have to provide such bad customer service and survive in the market.

Please people dont ever go for this HSBC Credit card.

HSBC — Credit Card Never received

                      Hi,

Recently I had tried to apply for personal loan, but it got rejected due to my name reflecting in CIBIL, I asked for a CIBIL report and came know that I have an outstanding amount of 26000 towards HSBC credit card, which I never recieved.
I have my own experience. Though the cheque was dropped much in advance and the cheque is payable at the same centre, the cheque was not presented to the Branch even after 6 days. When I sent somebody from my banker, surprisingly the cheque was traced. However, late payment fee was charged in the statement, which is not justifiable. I therefore request you to reverse the amount. I try to complain over telephone to the numbers given. I failed miserably despite giving my card number as asked for and the response was that your card number is not correct. I would like to know as to how to contact the concerned for putting up my grievance. I also received a sms that a fresh card has been posted to my address which has not reached me. I donot know how to report this. Can you please suggest to me the course of action. I am giving my mail id for correspondence. [protected]@yahoo.co.in
Please allow me to introduce myself my name is Michael Mason-Mahon and I am a shareholder of HSBC Plc. I am based in London yet I am a very regular visitor to India.

I may be able to help you. I can assure you that I will do all that I can to help you. I have been very successful in the people that I have taken up their cases with HSBC.

So if you would like to contact me and, also if you e-mail me your full complaint.

                      Kind regards
                      Michael

My name is Pranab Ranjan Das Gupta and I had a credit card of HSBC bank (card no: [protected]). Due to some personal reason I cancelled the card on 22/07/2008 and I have the proof and I never bought anything by the card and i payed rupees 279 for cancelling the card as the bank personal demanded . But till now HSBC bank is sending me huge bills .Last bill is of rupees 8525.25 on 15th March and previous bill is of Rs. 7385.13 of 15th January. I contact with your local branch several times they told that my account is closed so don’t worry & to ignore the bills. But the billing amount is increasing day by day so I again contact to HSBS B.B.D Bagh branch and meet Mr.Arnab Chowdhuri; he said the same thing .
I mailed them several times, called their helpline nos. but nothing happens, from customer care several phone nos. are given but any of them did not worked, any bank personal did not helped me and constantly harras me.
Sir I am mailing you from my son’s mail id (my confirmation details are: billing address: 44, park street, kolkata 16.phone no. of my home is[protected], and my d-o-b is 05/12/1949)

I had a credit card & have made the full & final payments in the month of November. Due to Diwali the bank had not collected the cheque from the drop box & due to holidays the cheque was not cleared by the bank. I had informed the bank & told them I am closing the card as I have paid all the outstandings barring the late payments charges & the bank charges. The bank told that they are not willing to close the card & offered us that if we intend to continue the card they will waive off the bank charges to half & we denied as we had flatly denied to continue with card. We have made subsequent complaints to the call center & the banking greviance officer but they are not giving us a proper reply.
                            KInldy sort the matter out.

                              Dear Mr. Makhija,

The amount outstanding against my credit card as quoted by Ms. Debika Mukherjee of your office is INR. 1555.18/-.

Prior to this, I was informed in January by your customer care executives on the phone that purchases made by me were INR 1506/- which was duly cleared by me in January itself via cheque.

Since then, I have neither made any purchases nor used the Credit Card. Now as per your u/m mail, you have reversed late payment fees and finance charges amounting to a total of INR. 941.34/- while the total late payment and finance charges levied on my card were INR 1555.18/- as per Ms. Debika Mukherjee's mail.

Thus, there is still a discrepancy of INR. 613.84/- which needs to be sorted out. I would once again request you to clear the discrepancy at the earliest as I do not wish to see any debit against my name when I have actually not incurred a single penny of expenditure on my card.

I have been very careful in paying all my dues as per the payment schedule and all the confusion and inconvenience has been caused due to non- delivery of the expenditure statement to me in time.

Since that time, I have been following- up with your Customer Care executives regularly but the issue has not been resolved. The immediate fallout of non- resolution of such complaints in a speedy time bound manner means that the customer is harrassed whereas HSBC keeps on levying various types of Late- Payment and Finance charges.

Now, may I therefore request you to kindly reconcile the account at your end so that the discrepancy (INR. 613.84/-) is sorted out at the earliest and there is no debit amount against my name. Also, I would request you to ensure that no further charges are levied against my name on 03 Apr '09 on account of non- payment of these charges.

                              Please acknowledge.

                                Dear,

I am getting continuesly missed calls from HSBC Credit Card Division for last 2 days. The numbers are as [protected], [protected], [protected], [protected], [protected], etc. I don't understand what to do? Everytime I am feeling mental harassment. How to recover from this trauma. I had not imagined before that I will come across with this kind of indecent practise from the bank. We had taken the card & they are regularly charging back on us for late payment & other service charges but that does not mean that they will interfare in our personal life.

I strongly urge for a seveare action to be taken against these practices as we are loosing our identity in front of stangers.

                                Thanks & regards,

                                Nrusingh Prasad Mishra

every one is in trouble.. by banks.
I have also receiving so many missed calls from HSBC collection departments from the Numbers [protected], [protected], [protected], [protected], [protected] and [protected].
they are harassing like anything by just giving missed calls in regular intervals until they receive the payments.

Also they are charging interests, Late payment fees and service charges for all the above payments.
This is not the best practice treating customers and someone should take severe action on this.

I am not sure how other Credit card service providers are treating customers in case of irregular payments.

I strongly urge the people who do not have HSBC credit cards that dont take Cc if you have already plz close it asap and shop through your debit cards.

Please allow me to introduce myself my name is Michael Mason-Mahon and I am a shareholder of HSBC Plc. I am based in London.
I was in Mumbai in September 2010 where I had a meeting with the CEO of HSBC to raise my concerns about the way HSBC was treating its customers.
I am going to ask the RBI TO DO A FULL INVESTIGATION into HSBC India.
For me to do this I need people that are willing to send their complaints to me and to allow me to forward their complaints, not only to the Board of Directors of HSBC Holdings Plc also to the Governor, Dr. D Subbarao and Shriv.K.Sharma, Executive Director of the Reserve Bank of India to investigate HSBC India as evidence to support the way that (and this is my personal belief) the Bank has breached the Code of Banks Commitment to Customers.

Please help me to help you, if we join together we will be able to make a change in their behaviour (I do hope so).
I have also sent a letter to all Board Directors of HSBC Holdings Plc.
                                Reference HSBC India
I refer to the concerns that I raised at the AGM in May concerning the behaviour of HSBC in India. Following my representation of complainants against HSBC India I have found the behaviour by the Bank to be totally unacceptable. This is my personal belief.
                                (This is my personal belief.)
I have found that the Bank has failed to comply with the RBI and the Banking Ombudsman Rules and Regulation in the handling of complaints. Also in all the complaints that I have personally handled there was no evidence that the Bank had informed the complainants of their right to take their complaint to the Banking Ombudsman which the Bank was obliged to do under the RBI rules and regulations.

So if you would like to contact me, please send me your complaint in full.

                                Kind regards
                                Michael

                                    Dear Sir/Madam,

I am Sujay Sarkar credit card holder of your HSBC Bank & my card no. is [protected].

I want to settle my account, I received a call from Mr. Avnit (Delhi[protected] he told me that you have to pay Rs. 5000/- to settle your account on that I asked him to collect the amount from Indore on that he said that it is not possible to collect it from Indore, either I can receive the letter from Mumbai, Delhi or Ahemdabad. Then I told him that he can collect the amount from my brother who is in Ahemdabad and hand over the letter to him. After that an executive gone there to collect the letter but without any letter, on that I asked Mr. Avnit why the letter was not handed over then he told that it would take 1 day to reach the letter in Ahemdabad, & he said that you pay Rs. 3000/- now & pay remaining Rs. 2000/- after receiving the letter, on his commitment I asked my brother to pay Rs. 3000/- to the executive from Info vision having receipt no. 0566352 on 28/01/2009. But after that several days gone I didn’t receive any call or letter from Mr. Avnit.

On 21/03/09 again I received a call from Mr. Avnit[protected] he told me that I can collect my letter from Indore Branch from Mr. Devesh Mehta. When I reach there and gave Mr. Mehta the remaining amount of Rs. 2000/- he refused to take it & told me that I have to pay full amount Rs. 5000/- on that I explain him that I had already paid Rs. 3000/- & remaining amount of Rs. 2000/- to be paid on that he said that I should talk to Mr. Avnit.

22/03/09 Mr. Avnit called me and said that I have to pay full amount of Rs. 5000/- because my letter got expired on that I asked him why I will pay full amount when I had already paid Rs. 3000/- & if my letter got expired why he didn’t let me know & why he made me false commitment on that he started shouting on me and starts misbehaving which I never expects from HSBC Bank executive, he also threatened me that they will file a case against me under section 138 & said that if you will not pay this amount then you should be going to pay 10000/- to 15000/-.

On 28/03/09 again I received a call from Mr. Avnit and again he started shouting on me & said that why you will not pay the full amount on that I said Mr. Avnit if this incident happens with you what you would do on that he transferred the line to Mr. Jatin, he told me that you will pay Rs. 2000/- but you will get your letter after 4 days, which I refused to do.

Now Mr. Avnit from Delhi is harassing me every day from[protected] to 8 times daily). I never expect such an incident happens with a bank of high reputation. Now I am helpless, kindly suggest me what should I do.

                                    Thanks & Regards

Same here... i have not heard anything about PF . Its been a year now and no one seems to have any record of where the form is. As I am currently in UK, I cannot even do the frequent rounds which is otherwise expected from one i[censored] r in India. Doesnt matter if you have a job or jobless.

I see you post was on the 27th March 2009. Have you heard anything from them? Is it of any use lodging a complaint ?
