I was issued a credit card by HSBC in 2006 and I was told that it was free for lifetime card. I had not used this card even once this card expired in Feb 2008 and I was sent a new card in Jan 2008 without being informed that I will be getting a new card. I started getting sms on my mobile stating that I have to pya Rs1410/- in April 2008. Inspite of calling up HSBC centre I have not recieved any credit card statemtns, neither has anyone told me what the charges are for.
They gave me a number to call on and inspite of repeated attempts I was not able to contact anyone on this number. After this I kept getting sms to pay the amount and finally now in September it has gone up to Rs.9108.97 and phone calls from recovery agent who are very rude and do not have basic training and knowledge of how to talk to people.

HSBC has still not cleared this up. Can you please suggest how do I get this resolved.

Thansk & regards,
Renita
Dear Sir/Madam,

I had recieved HSBC credit card in 2006 and I ws told this card was free for lifetime.I had not used this credit card and I had not recieved any statements as well. this card expired in 2008 I was issued anew card by HSBC. I had not recived any call from HSBC prior to issuing this new card. I hve not used this new card till date, suddenly I got sms fronm HSNC stating that I have to pay Rs.1410/- I called up HSBC call centre they were not able to explian what the charges are for I was told they would call back but hey never bothered to call back . I called up again and this time was given another number to call on, which I kept tyring but was unable to reach anyone. I kept getting sms and call form recovery and each time I just pleaded to tell me why they are charging me this amount, but still no one bothered to tell me.

I have not recieeved a single statement to date as to why I have been charge this amount.

I recieved sms in September stating that I have to pay Rs9108.97/- the recovery agent was very rude, they dont even have the basic courtesy of speaking to the customers.

I do not want to pay any charges as I had not asked for this new card.

Kindly let me know how thsi can be dealt with.

Thanks & Regards,
Renita
Renita,

The same problem I'm facing. Even i paid some amount to the recovery agent. They gave me receipt and told they will send settlement letter. No letter they sent. I'm again asked to pay for the same.

Somebody
Dear Sir,
I was issued a credit card by HSBC in the year 2006. The HSBC executive was not confirmed me about the actual interest rate. I was not received the statement regularly. Even I have paid the amount regularly (as the statement received). But I found that the payable amount was increasing every month while I was not purchasing anything. One serious problem is that the opening balance in the statement was very much higher than the previous month's closing balance. How is it possible? When I call to customer care they behaved very badly. They register my problem six times But I was not received any solution from their side. Nobody is taking the responsibility for the fake statement. They are mentally torturing me very much. Now I want to close my account with full and final payment than I called to customer care. They said, my case is transferred to the recovery department. They provide me some contact numbers of recovery department in Noida. When I am trying to contact them nobody is picking up the phone.
I am requesting to Honorable Resreve Bank Of India to take any hard action against such type of Fraud Banks which are harassing the people of India.
I am havin HSBC Credit card from 2008. At the time of taking the card, their representative told me that it is a lifetime free card and there is no annual fees. But one of my friend recently tole me to confirm about my card and for that I have contacted with the Customercare. The have replied me and told me that there is a annual charge. My question is that how to take a legal action against this cheating of hsbc? I want to cancel my card immidiately. Please help.

      Dear sir,

I am credit card holder of your esteem bank A/c [protected] .
I have always paid my credit card dues on time, however due to some medical problem in the month of August I was hospitalised . Due to this I could not make the payment as I was in chennai and not in my hometown Kolkata.
Your bank sent a collection agent to my house for the collection of the due payment in my absence, he misbehaved with my wife and other familymembers. They threatened and used abusive languages. However I was helpless and could do nothing so I complained to the concerned department about the incident and the behaviour of the agents. My request fell on deaf ears .
I made it a point untill unless those responsible are not sacked I would not pay any amount.
On 19th sep 2008 your bank agent Mr. Rohit (mobile numb--[protected] and his manager phone number[protected] called me abused me threaten me to cough up the due amount within two hours or face their wrath, I told them about the RBI rules they told me [censored] the rules . I told them I would go to the police they told me the HSBC Bank Dalhouise branch kolkata is with them and no cops can do anything to them.
I called up your phone banking people to complain about them they simply put me on hold for 10 min whenever I called up.
I request you to kindly take some serious action against such people in your company who are spoiling one of the largest bank in the world . Why would such a big bank brand name suffer for some un cultured and uncivilised goons hired by the HSBC bank to claim dues.
Looking forward for your helping hand .

Letter on behalf of my son Mr. Hitarth Desai, A/C NO.[protected]
        Dear Sirs,
        Atten: - Chief executive officer.
I have deposited following two salary cheques (local),
        1. Cheque no -.442367 drawn on Standard Charter bank dated 4/09/08 for Rs. 9000/-
        2. Cheque no -.477233 drawn on Standard Charter bank dated 11/09/08 for Rs. 9000/-
When I checked balance I observed Rs. 9000/- pertaining srl. No. 1 above is not deposited.
Subsequently, I enquired and also made a complaint, no.[protected] on 11/09/2008. Further I enquired with senior executive Miss. Kavita, Chennai on11/09/2008
Further I met Branch Manager Mrs. Mausami Bishwash and the matter is not yet resolved and I felt this is being handled very causally and to my surprise, I received very rude replies to the extent of “What I can do?” If matter is not resolved. I informed her that I will close this account and in future I will never come to your bank. The behavior of your employee is definitely not customer friendly and very much annoying.
Till date the issue is not resolved.
Please arrange to do the needful URGENTLY and send me feedback.

This is really shocking... HSBC has a good reputation in the market... it is these types (some of the employees) of employees who bring bad name to the org. I think HSBC should be more careful in recruiting these type of employees... in the long run HSBC will be a looser...
By the way I am interested to know.. Did you get the deposited cheque and credited to your account.. or not yet... I am an NRI and was thinking to open a new account with HSBC...in Mumbai...
Pl. reply ... I will think twice otherwise before opening and crediting any amount to HSBC Bank..

I am having a serious concern regarding the money transfer from my a/c to FD a/c.
I am holding a Salary A/c in your HSBC Bank, Thane Branch.

Yesterday i.e. on 11th May 2008, i have checked my balance at Thane ATM (A762 - at Ram Maruti Road) at 20.59 and it was Rs.84, 418.68/- I am having customer advice also for checked the balance. Immediately i have taken my card out without doing any other transaction.

Today i.e on 12 th May 2008, i have received SMS from bank stating that my A/c has been Debited with INR 50, 000/- on 12th May 08 as Debit from HSBC (14.55 12/5/08)

I have immediately called up customer care, and they replied that Bank has got request from ATM (S724) on 11/5/08 at 14.52. I was at home that time and my card was also with me. Send me Transaction Advice for this on mail immediately.

HOW COULD YOUR BANK DEBIT MY A/C WITHOUT ATM CARD OR ANY TELEPHONIC REQUEST.

I have already requested to investigate this case on a priority basis. I want reply within 24 hrs. as well as send me scanned copy of my FD on mail immediately.

            Sir,

I was holding a HSBC credit card [protected], taken in 2007. Same was held till 2012 and all dues were paid in time. There was a renewal card which was issued in 2012 and never received by me. To my surprise i find there is Written Off status shown reflected in my cibil report. This is reflecting as negative remark on my credit history while there is no payment due from my end.

I have sent a mail with the details to [protected]@hsbc.co.in, but they wanted me to raise that from my registered email and i have reverted to them that same cannot be done as the service provider has shut service. And there was no further response on the same.

              Hi Girish,

This is in response to repeted threat i am receving from your collection agency.

My parents have been receving calls from a lady called Neha contact number[protected].

I have asked for my loan statement, to understand what i have made payment till date and what i need to pay, till date i have not received any details.

If this attitude continues i am logging a complaint against HSBC in Pune, Kirkee with the Indian police to avoid constant harrasment.

I am time and again telling you that my situation is very bad in terms of finance and i need some time to come out of the financial crises.

My parents are helping out, but the collection agency of yours are doing lot of harrasment and under the law protection act these agency can be black listed on my complaint.

Please take corrective action or face the brunt.

              Regards,
              Arup.

              Hi Girish,

This is in response to the harrasement that one of your executive is presently doing with my parents.

Today he has given a call to my parents and has give bad words to my mother, father and wife as well.

Let me brief you of the contents of his conversation.

I have made payments for the month of May somewhere around 29th of May 2008. for the current month.

He has not checked my account and is not aware that i made the payment and would make the payment hence forth.

The guy named Santosh calls and tells my parent that have give birth to a and if your son is incompetent tell him to send across his wife as he would like to sleep with her.

I warning you that if this kind of behaviour keeps on continuing i will stop any kind of payment and i would like to settle stuff in the court and would file a case of moral harrasement.

Please look into the matter as we are planning to take a serious complain with the nearest police station.

I am keeping the document version and would be submitting this to all the leading newspaper and will higlight the issues to collection agency to all the leading newspaper.

Please take some corrective action against the collection agency who are coming to my house for collection and spoiling HSBC name.

Or else you face some action as i am sending your information to the police and the press.

              Please keep me informed.

              Hi Girish,

Yes i do understand, however i have to repay other accounts as well which are at critical stage.

Please try to co-operate at this point of time, i would clear all the outstanding dues once i am in a good position.

One sincere request please stop sending people to my house to collect the due amount.

This is causing more harm as it is spoiling my relation with my parents who are the ones actually helping me out in this difficult situation.

HSBC — Harassment by Collection Agent

I had an HSBC Credit card that was last used in 2006. I did not receive any bill or any phone calls regarding bills for 4 years till one day in 2009 someone called me. However since i was busy i could not attend any calls that day. what happened next was unbelievable. They got hold of my mobile bill and started calling people who i had last made calls to and in particular misbehaved after calling my sister.

What i want to know is is this legal that you can call anyone and misbehave? Are these the values HSBC follows that you ileegally obtain numbers and start harassing family and friends. I also want to know what my options are to make sure it does not happen again/
Please allow me to introduce myself my name is Michael Mason-Mahon and I am a shareholder of HSBC Plc. I am based in London yet I am a very regular visitor to India.

At HSBC Annual General Meeting of Shareholders 2010 I did address my concerns with the Board of Directors concerning what HSBC has been doing and is doing in India to our customers.

Pease contact me urgently, I will be able to help you.

              Kind regards

They (HSBC) pass themselves off as Attorneys (which they are NOT, that is illegal by the way), threaten to have your driver's license suspended (which they can NOT do), they will NOT send you any information regarding the account (even when you request it), they promise info once you sign a contract that states you Owe the money and will RePay - then it is to late and they threaten to sue you in court and have you arrested for non payment or not showing up for court (even when they have no address to have you served - that tells me that they will falsify court documents).

They will not give any info: creditor's name, what tpye of account, etc. When you bring up the subject of possible Identity Thief, you are told very quickly that they have all the information that they need to prove it is Your Account. it has been at least a month since I spoke to them and still have not received the information that I requested.

I have NEVER has an account with HSBC. I don't respond well to being Threatened. I do NOT like being lied to. And I DO NOT MAKE PAYMENTS TO PEOPLE THAT I DO NOT OWE. I do, however, know how to hire an Attorney for Harassment and Fraud

                Dear Madam / Sir,

I am holding a Credit Card with No. [protected] since July 2006.

I have availed a balance transfer for an amount of INR 8000/- vide Cheque No. 258550 dated 28th November 2006 for my ICICI card No. [protected].

However, the same was never credited to my ICICI account. On enquiry, As per ICICI the cheque was bounced because of the “Insufficient Fund”. I am still not able to understand how the same can happen.

I have called up myself & informed the same to your phone banking but without trying to understand my problem they have been asking me to pay the amount. When I suggested checking at your end to confirm whether the instrument has been cleared or not, they are not wiling to listen to my case & adamant that I need to pay the amount.

Now, your recovery department is calling me up & threatening me to, immediately or face the consequences, which I believe is against RBI guidelines.

I have attached a copy of my complaint to ICICI Bank in this regard. I sure you will agree that I am suffering all these for none of my fault.

You are requested to check at your end whether the instrument has been cleared or not. In case ICICI Bank’s claim is true, you are urged to clear my card account from all the dues & activate the same again.

In case the instrument is cleared, please let me know with documentary evidence, so that I ccan take the case up with ICICI bank & I will be glad to pay all the dues.

You are urged to look into the matter & do the needful.

                Best regards,

Note that, I have not heard from you since then in this regard.

However as advised buy ICICI (recipient) Bank I asked for encashment certificate for the DD at the telebanking. I am told that there is no provision to issue such a document & I need to get an NOC from ICICI Bank.

                Dear Sir/Madam,

I am using hsbc credit card since last 18 months. My credit card number is: [protected]. I have received the overlimit fee Rs. 500 + Serive Tax Rs. 51.50 on my last credit card statement without any proper reason. I have sent several mails to the hsbc customer service executives through my internet banking to reverse the overlimt charge. But I am not getting the proper response from hsbc customer service executives.Everyone sending different replies about my account transactions. For example, one of the hsbc executive replied me that "your statement dated 21 March 2009 reflects a total outstanding on your card as INR 42336 and further purchases of INR 1413. The outstanding balance on the card was above your assigned credit limit INR.45000, this lead to over limit fee of INR 500 being charged to your card account". As per his reply mail, my credit card balance was within the limit only(INR 43749). So I kindly request you to go through my transactions and reverse the overlimt fee as soon as possible.

A prompt action will be highly appreciated

                  Dear Sir,

Please be informed that once again HSBC cannot follow simple directions.
At previously stated I closed all accounts including my HSBC VISA credit card in March.
In May of this year I paid off all remaining balance in the VISA, with an accompanying letter to confirm closure of the VISA account.
I have now received a letter from HSBC collection center stating my VISA account has an outstanding balance of over 14, 000 Rs.
I have made no purchases on this VISA account, I have requested closure of this account and yet HSBC continues to accept charges to this account.
Since you were instructed to close this account I will not accept liability for these charges.
I have attempted numerous times to contact someone over the phone about this issue and I have been referred to 5 different phone numbers, the final number has not answered a call in over 2 days.
HSBC does not support its customers.
Please resolve this Issue as soon as possible.

                  Regards,

                  Dear Swathi,

Please be informed that this account was closed in March, this year, by myself while I was in Mumbai at the M.G. Road, main branch.
I do not know who assisted me but please close this account as previously stated I'm no longer an Indian resident as of March of this year and it is illegal for me to hold an Indian bank account.
I have destroyed the credit card and check book since they were of no further use.
Please send me an application to again close the account and I will sign scan and send on to you.
Presently I'm employed offshore in Saudi Arabia and mail service is very questionable.
Hopefully this will finally put closure to this account.

                  Regards,

                  Dear Kirubahar,

Sorry but your records are incorrect, I indeed closed all India accounts, since I'm no longer an Indian resident, as of March this year, I cannot legally hold an Indian back account.
This is the reason I closed all my accounts.
Following that I destroyed my credit card and check book as I had no further need.
As previously stated I personally appeared at the main branch in Mumbai, M.G road and closed all accounts.
Please be informed that I will not be liable for any service charges on any HSBC Indian accounts as of March 2007.
I would suggest that you keep better records next time.

                  To Whom It May Concern:

HSBC is spending billions of dollars on a charm offensive to convince you to bank with it. At airport terminals around the world and in slick magazines, HSBC says they care about what we value and they are "the world's local bank."

HSBC Offshore (Jersey) wants you to believe that your personal data is safe and your banking details are confidential with them. . HSBC is selling its customers out. This blog blows the whistle.

The truth is that HSBC spreads misinformation about customer credit risk and then refuses to discuss its allegations by hiding behind HSBC Terms and Conditions. It cuts its customers off without explanation.

HSBC is so big now that they can afford to abuse and lose any single customer for no reason or any reason.

If you are a past or present employee or client of HSBC Jersey please step forward and share what you know.

                      Dear All,

I have been a customer of HSBC Credit card which was issued to me a year back. Since then there is no correspondence from them. Since then I have also opted not to use it as it seemed to be some fault on the company's side.

It was two days back when all of a sudden there was call from Mr. Dipak More, Executive HSBC, Baroda that I need to pay a minimum amount of Rs. 500/- to keep my account active. I promptly paid it within couple of hours. I also requested him to update my correspondence address and contact number and e-mail so that I could be in touch with the bank via email.

Also to add that I just inquired about my any pending amount due to the bank ( which I thought would not be any !!!) But to my surprise the total outstanding amount to paid by me was soaring Rs.15000/- I was taken aback to hear this from Mr. More and I again requested him to Mail me the detailed statement of my "SAID" expenditure through this credit card. But till date there is no response from the bank.

I hope somebody would please guide me as I donot want to continue banking with this bank.

                      Regards//

                      Dear Shridhar,

I completely agree with you regarding this HSBC malfunctioning. I too have had a similar experience. I have never used the credit card of HSBC but once I got the call from some Mr.Viki Khakhar stating that I owe Rs.12000 to the bank!!!

On asking for details and billing Mr.Viki Khakhar started abusing and threatning me. I mean he claimed to be a manager of the bank and the kind of language he used was unparliamentary. I plan to sue him for such verbal misconduct.

ALL PLEASE BE AWARE OF HSBC BANK AND MORE SO OF THEIR EMPLOYEES LIKE MR.VIKI KHAKHAR AND MR.MORE WHO DO NOT KNOW HOW TO TALK WITH THEIR CLIENTS.

                      Regards
                      Mr.Anurag

I was having a credit card for last two years of HSBC bank. Now it has expired(infact I have never used that)and now I don't want any credit card or I don't want a renewed card. But still HSBC Bank is sending me SMS and telebanking service has called me for personal loan against my expired HSBC credit card. Please look into the matter.

Infact this month I came to know in my office that some courier boy has bought a renewed credit card in my name but I was not there in the office and he has taken it back as undelivered.

The fact is that I have never applied or requested for a new or renewed credit card from HSBC

let me make it clear I have no outstanding left on my old credit card(infact I have never used that) and now I do not want any Credit card/renewed credit card.

Kindly make note of this and acknowledge my complaint at earliest.

                              HSBC — HSBC Cheaters

I am holding HSBC card and have been a very good payor. I lsot my job 10 months back but still paying my dues. I called to inform them that I might be late in paying for my June dues because Im getting short of cash. They blocked my card even after I paid the 2 motnhs due. I asked for unblocking but they refused because they said i lost my job. My husband gave me 7, 000 to settle half of the outstanding but I am not going to pay it because these stupid people blocked my card and will not unblock it. Their faces are so thick as to offer me to get a savings account with them once I found a new job. Never. And as for the card, I will never pay it. Let's see who will call first to negotiate for the fees.

I asked them once to restructure the debt so I can pay them in installments, they ask me to miss one payment first so collections dep't wuill call me. These stupid people were bluffing because they just charged me for another 450 for lstes fees and all. They are even charges overlimit fees every week! I wish they will be bankrupt.
Hi, I have taken Credit Card from HSBC as i had been told that its a life time free card while taking the card. I rarely used the card as I had other cards too. To my surprise they started levying annul fee of Rs 700 every year .Each time i approached customer support, they had waived off the annual fee. But this year while the exp date of the card was approaching ( june 2009 ), i called up support & enquired, if there would be any annul fee levied to my a/c if i renew my card. They replied it would be waived of[censored]pon renewal of the card & if in anycase charges levied also it would be waived off once i approach customer support. To my surprise i could see annual fee Rs 700 being debited to my a/c.Though i approached support staff & told them about my previous history they could do nothing & had told me that there was no history of my call & discussion with their support staff reg the annual fee waiver which is not true. It clearly proves cheating. My 12-06-09 to 12.07.09 statement shows net outstanding balance of Rs 373.15 Cr whereas my 13.07.09 - 11.08.09 statement shows that i need to pay 1874 though i have used only Rs 1102.50 ( Rs 907.50 & Rs 195.00) only, adding Rs 700+72.10 ( tax) as annual fee which is not fair at all, though it had been waived off by them after my request in the earlier months before exp date of the card . This is the worst support i had ever experienced.

I am Rajeev Kumar using hsbc credit card since last 6-8 months. I used the card and cleared all the debts last month. I have prrof of the same as I have done it online. The main problem is that even after using the card properly and paying all the debts on time my card has been cancelled by the bank. And to my ashtonishment customer care has no clue why has it been done and also collection department says that they also dont know anything so talk to customer care. When I went to a merchandise to use the card the machine said that it is a pick up card. It ruined my reputation in front of the shop owner who blankly looked at me like I am a thief.

I just seek help from you in solving this because every time they say contact CC and CC says to contact collection department. What should I do in this case? Should I also sue them for my problems and my loss of rapo infront of the shopkeeper?

please help me I am available on mails and phone any time.
Default credit Payments showing after making Payments within 3-4 months

I am Nirmal kumar credit card holder of HSBC bank, i have a credit card limit of Rs. 20, 000/- and i have paid the bank
Rs. 29, 800/- with some 3-4 months gap. As the representative of HSBC told in september last that you have to deposit only the minimum interest of Rs. 600/- so i deposited Rs. 700/- and though i went to deposit Rs. 20, 000/- but want to confirm exta charges of late fine, overlimit charges and others.

So, i want to know that after having making the payments bank should understand the intention of cardholder how they has put in credit default list although i have made the interest and their outstanding.
