I had a problem with my car and took it to this service center. They made me wait for over an hour and told me that there is an oil sump damage. I don't even know what an oil sump is. I asked them for an estimation and they gave me 20k. They made a job card and was hurrying to get my permission to start the work. Only then i asked them about who will cover this amount. Mr. Hitesh from sukrith was very cool to tell me that it is paid by the customer. When i asked for insurance, mr. Justin told me that it will take a few days and they can't repaid it immediately. Who wants to spend 20k when you already have an insurance policy with a premium of 20k+? Please be careful when you get a job card and make sure what is covered by the insurance.
After a couple of days i get an estimate for 1.5 lakh. I was totally in for a surprise! Now mr. Karthikeyan - customer care manager tells me that it is not covered by the insurance as it is a consequential damage. I asked them how it could be a consequential damage as there were no alarms of any kind to tell me something this bad was going to happen. When i asked him why the sensors did not work, he had no answer. He simply said i should ask hyundai as they are the manufacturer. People, if he as a dealer is not taking the ownership, why does he even sell hyundai cars? He should have sold sukrith cars!
Today i got another call from mr. Ramesh pandian, service manager, who repeated the same thing. I asked him, if you are aware of these damages, why did you not even show me the damage when i was in your dealership for more than 5 hours? People, you know there is something fishy here. If they know that there will be a huge damage, they should have shown me the place where the car has been damaged and given me a heads up that the estimate could be more. You can't have an estimate for 20k and within a few days over 6 times. He has no answer for this. Why did the dealer not show me the actual damage if it was external and going to cost a lot?
Now i have lost complete faith on this dealer. It could have been an issue with the engine he is trying to make me liable for. Or it could have been a minor issue (I don't even remember hitting anywhere as he claims that the oil sump is metal and doesn't damage easily) he is trying to make a huge profit out of it. He says he can send me pictures of the damage now. How can i accept this? After over a week he sends me pictures? He also mentioned that the engine is dismantled which means he could have intentionally caused some damage and put the blame on me just to make a huge bill.
My first and only question that has not been answered so far is - why did the dealership not show me the physical damage in the 5 hours that i spent in the dealership if they knew the consequences?
I have called and written to hyundai and no one from hyundai is talking to me about this problem. Only the dealer is and often he refuses to answer questions like why there was no alert of low oil, why the sensors did not work, etc stating that only hyundai should answer these questions. If the dealer is not in the capacity to answer my questions, hyundai should. But they are very silently watching. I have even made a complaint on twitter.
Now my problem is that i can no longer trust this dealership.in over a week now with my car in this dealership, i don't even know if they intentionally caused any other damages to my car. Since they are not authentic they really can't be trusted anymore. The reason that they did not show me any physical damage in the car when i left the car at the dealership itself proves that they have something to hide. Now, what if they made some defects internally that i would not be able to notice and something happened when i drove and met with an accident or something? Or if they did something that would cost be a huge price on the long run?
Hyundai please intervene and get my car replaced.
