I had booked a stay at OYO 65238 Hotel Crystal Stay, Bhubaneshwar for 3 nights from 26 Feb – 2 Mar22 thru’ GoIbibo on 12/2/22 [ GoIbibo ID HTLDVAKW2H5ARDXB, PNR [protected] ], by paying full advance payment of Rs. 5693/-.
When I reported to the property on 26th FEb'22, after much searching around [ wrong Google Map location, plus local residents not aware of any such hotel] around 1300 Hrs on 26/2/22, with family and luggages in toe, the boy at Reception did acknowledge the booking but refused to let us check-in for want of a negative RTPCR Report. We agreed to show him double vaccination reports, and assured to get the RTPCR by next day after giving the sample, but the reception boy refused. Neither he agreed to provide the Owner’s contact Details, nor bothered to check up with Go Ibibo which had done the booking.
Feeling helpless, I could only contact the OYO Customer Care No. at[protected] [ which was provided on the Booking Confirmation document from GoIbibo) at about 13:06 Hrs and the lady on the other side kept the line on hold for about 10 min – ostensibly for talking with the Owner, and then declared that check-in at the same hotel was not possible. Despite my repeated requests for allowing check-in with double vaccination report with physical checks for fever & symptoms, after having reported there with my wife & daughter with several luggages [ for my daughter’s hostel admission], no solutions emerged even after speaking on OYO helpline for about 15 min. The attending lady also refused to offer any refund either, and told me to take up with GoIbibo which took the booking in first place.
Since I was getting delayed for admission reporting schedule of my daughter, I had to walk out literally with family and all luggages.
As Hotel refused to allow me check-in, despite accepting full advance payment, requested GoIbibo to refund me the full amount. As a matter of fact, refusing entry due to lack of negative RTPCR report is only a sham for cheating hapless customers who pays in advance but are not informed adequately for such tests – incidentally, neither airlines, nor reputed hotels or any public institutions are insisting presently for negative RTPCR report.
The fact that OYO Hotel Bookings do not share any Hotel Contact Details, which only gives OYO Hotels general contact no., it is extremely difficult for customers to contact the particular hotels in advance either to confirm the booking or to know the locations exactly [often wrong locations marked in Google Maps ].
Interestingly, my compaint email to [protected]@oyorooms.com [ which was on Booking Confirmation document] had also bounced subsequently - which proves the sham business that these people are into.
I therefore demand an unconditional apology from both GoIbibo & OYO for the gross harassment meted out to me & my family, and immediate issual of FULL REFUND of amount paid [ Rs. 5693] for the hotel stay.
Ibibo Group / Goibibo customer support has been notified about the posted complaint.
