Hi,

I've been a customer for Idea cellular for some time now and in the month of September; I bought a new mobile handset. In this mobile handset, by default, GPRS was enabled. For that day I was seeing regular weather updates and other things. When I went to dealer to find out how it is happening, he said, it is due to GPRS. I was surprised as I didn’t asked/choose GPRS plan. Immediately, I've disabled GPRS and called customer service center. They said once bill is generated then only they can suggest something on this.

In the month of October, I got a bill for 1211/-. When I wrote to them asking 1. Why GPRS was enabled on my mobile. 2. Credit limit for my mobile is 500. If bill is going beyond that the service should have been suspended and I should have got a notification.

In response, they said it’s a free service which is enabled at 0 Rs cost. I protested back saying I should have been informed of it then I could have controlled the usage of it. Regarding credit limit also, they could not provide a proper response.

On repeated requests (3) for update on this issue, I was told that the issue will be addressed by 4th of December 2012.

I informed that I will be vacation during that period and once I'll be back I'll take action as per their solution.

On 10th of December, when I came back from vacation, I didn’t see any email from them. I wrote them again for a response on the issue.

I was horrified to see their response as the service is permanently deactivated by 30th of November, 2012 and asked me to pay full amount.

Finally I want to close the issue from my end and wanted to pay (for no fault from my end), their website is not allowing me to pay the amount as account is permanently deactivated. I'm not sure how to consider their action (whether the amount is also voided?)

Can you please let me know is there a way I can take a legal action against the company?

I cannot attach any photos as communication happened with my company email id which also, is registered email id with the account.

        on 15.12.2012; By using online recharge link available on "idea cellular" site, I tried to recharge mobile No. [protected] for Rs.333/-. Received confirmation as successful
        Transaction ID:[protected]
        Reference :_ MSPD[protected]

        amount is deducted from bank account- recharge is not done to the mobile.
        The company is not taken interest to reverse back amount to my bank account.

        I feel that this online link is not believable.

            MY TELEPHONE CONNECTION WITH IDEA [protected] WAS DISCONNECTED BY THE SERVICE PROVIDER YESTERDAY WITHOUT PRIOR NOTIFICATION.
            THERE WAS A DISPUTE IN ONE OF THE BILL I HAD WITH THE COMPANY FOR WHICH I HAVE ISSUED STOP PAYMENT TO MY BANK.

            I HAVE MISSED NUMBER OF PHONE CALLS FROM MY CLIENTS BOTH INTERNATIONAL AND DOMESTIC , WE ARE INTO TRADE OF CASHEW KERNELS AND ALL BUSINESS ACTIVITIES ARE DISCUSSED AND DECIDED OVER THE PHONE ON THE GIVEN DAY.

            YOU MAY KINDLY CHECK THE VOLUME OF INCOMING AND OUTGOING CALLS TO THIS NUMBER ON A DAILY BASIS. I AM NOT ABLE TO ASSESS MY LOSS AT THE MOMENT AS THERE WAS A LOT OF CALLS I WOULD HAVE MISSED FROM MY CLIENTS AND ALREADY THERE IS ONE CONTRACT ON THE VERGE OF CANCELLATION AS I WAS NOT AVAILABLE OVER THE PHONE FOR FINAL DISCUSSION.
            PLEASE NOTE I AM USING A BLACKBERRY AND THIS ACTION FROM IDEA HAS INTERRUPTED MY BBM AND INTERENET SERVICE AS WELL.

            REQUEST YOU TO HELP ME OUT ON THIS. I DO NOT WISH TO CONTINUE WITH THIS SERVICE PROVIDER HERE AFTER BUT I NEED THEIR RESPONSE FOR THIS ACTION.

              i recharged my idea [protected] with rs 555 two times at 18.55 and 19.02 on 11/12/12 by my credit card from idea portal and for rs 110 two times on 12/12 at 8.10pm 8.13 pm. with net banking from just recharge it .com . four of these recharges became failure saying that the amount will be credited within 7 days to my account. why all these recharges are failures? how can i recharge online under this condition.

I have submitted the required document but till date I am not able to receive service.                     Illegal deduction from my prepaid mobile No. [protected]

                    Dear Sir,

                    I am holder of prepaid Idea mobile phone with No. [protected]. a message received from 54300 asking me to download bolly beauties video http://ideaalert.vuclip.com/isp?sn=2513&vpid=8&src=VPINMI&mdn=Ciw2RI... and immediately thereafter without my consent/permission, another message was received from IZ-ideaCMS stating that "Dear Customer, thank you for downloading VIDEOS from XINLABS. You have been charged Rs.99.&Rs.49

                    This is nothing but cheating being done by your company because neither i gave consent for the download of the aforesaid video nor without my prior permission was taken to download the same and automatically deducted Rs.99/&Rs.49- from my account.

                    I immediately contacted your customer care, where one attended me and was not at all willing to help me. Straightaway he stated that I must have downloaded the video. On my further insistence, he stated that he does not have detail in the system .

                    This attitude of yours is completely uncalled for and frustrating with sole intent to cheat and harass your customer. I for no fault of mine have been disturbed, harassed and my precious time is being killed by your illegal act apart from swindling my Rs. 99/- Rs.49


                    I call upon you to immediately credit back Rs.99/-Rs.49 to my account failing which I will be constraint to file case of cheating against you all at your cost and responsibilities.

                      I had a number that was [protected] which was changed recently on 26th Nov 2012 to [protected], I had a auto payment facility on my old number hence the amount of Rs 2848 /- was deducted on the 1st DEC 2012, as my number was changed i forgot i have a auto pay facility on my account hence i made a payment of Rs. 2748 /- through the idea cellular website..which has gone through and has updated on their system..but my first payment of Rs 2848/- is still missing.. I have also contacted my bank regarding the same... they have asked me to get in touch with idea as they have already made a payment to Idea. have called Idea several times and have logged a complaint as well,, , have sent emails but no reply..... numbers for complaint but they dint sort anything out...they keep on given reference numbers have also sent my bank statement to them but all in vain,,,,please help..

                        I am an existing IDEA customer. I had taken a new connection of idea whose no. is [protected] in the month of July 2012 and it was activated on 27/07/2012. On 18/08/2012 when I was in Uttarakhand ,I got a call from idea side and his executive told me that, your current bill is Rs 1669/- which exceed your the credit limit of Rs 1200/-,so submit your bill otherwise your outgoing will be barred. I tried to convince him that there might be some mistake from your side but he told me in a rudely manner that submit your bill otherwise outgoing will be barred. Thereafter on 19/08/2012 when I was on the highway late night my car got some mechanical fault ant it suddenly stops in mid forest road side. After that when I pick my phone and tried to make a call I heard a message that your outgoing is barred. Due to late night there is no STD booth nearby. As I am suffering from Slip Disc problem from last 07 months and while doing road side of my vehicle my back pain problem get suddenly increased and I have to go 3 K.M by foot on lonely forest road side. At that time I got mentally and physically harassed.
                        After reaching Delhi I make a call to IDEA customer care and ask the reason to barred my outgoing and he gave the same reason and told me that your current bill amount is Rs 2000/- so that’s why your outgoing is barred. He also told me to pay at least Rs 1000/- to unbarred my outgoing but I totally refuse to pay the amount until I got my detailed bill. My outgoing gets barred from 19/08/2012 to 31/08/2012.Now I received my IDEA bill of amounting Rs 245/- only and automatically my outgoing gets unbarred. On 08/09/2012 I visited idea Head Office and meet with IDEA Executive Mr. Pankaj Devshali. He was unable to provide me appropriate justification o[censored]pper said miss happening and simply he told me that he checked his logs and didn’t find any technical failure which causes my service Disrupted.
                        Therefore for complete justification of above said miss happening which unwanted created mentally and physically harassment, i communicate with them several time but wont get satisfactory response.

                        IDEA Cellular Services — DISRUPTED SERVICES

                        I have experienced a lot of problems with IDEA sim - [protected].

                        I have submitted my proof documents twice and that too directly to the idea office and taken their countersignature of receipt on the second time, but everytime i get the info that my address and id proof are not submitted and hence the services have been discontinued.

                        It is very inconvenient when you are roaming to various places. Now my sim shows inactive sim, i feel so frustated with this service, totally disgusting - Jayant

                        RECOMMEND TO OTHERS - DO NOT GET THE IDEA TO GET IDEA!!
                        It is a pre-paid SIM. So the excuse of nil balance is also not there

                          I am parmod kumar bansal from sangrur Punjab.i am using a idea cellular postpaid services having number [protected]. My last month bill was 193.88rs and due date was 30/11/2012. I paid 200rs. at idea office on date 29/11/2012.My receipt number is 2418101.But i received number of messages from last few days that the bill is not paid. I went to idea office but nobody respond me. Today i received a message that your outgoing service is barred and your outstanding bill is 334rs. As i already paid the bill please resolve the issue asap so that i can use the services. Otherwise i will take a legal action against idea.

I am not down load any video. Why Idea debited this amount in my account Rs.198.Idea told me you down load video but I am not down load any video.

                              today I got message from idea no 54300 that they have recieved my request for service pretones and it was being processed. Also amount rs. 30 was deducted from my account. Though I never requested for any such service. Please resolve issue. I recently changed my no. From docomo to idea because of same problem. Are all operators doing such unethical business practices?

                                  Suddenly a message appear to my mobile that "Your Mega Pack has be activated. Amount charged R. 15 for 1 week. Renewal charge is Rs. [protected]@1 Month as applicable. To deactivated sms UNSUB mgpkm to 54300" and Rs. 15/- has been deducted from my balance I dont know what is mega pack and I never made any request for activation of such type of services. Idea company automatically activated the services to eat the balance of customer, and when I made a call to customer care I interacted with Mr. Laxmikant and he simply told me that his system is not updated so he was unable to do any help and refund the amount.

                                  So, It is requested to kindly deactivate the service like Megapack or whatever from my number and kindly refund the amount.

                                  I have disconnected Idea post paid on Oct 31 and till now didn't use that number, Unfortunately I have paid excess of amount (3000.00 INR),till now I am getting the min bill monthly to my home, many times spoken with customer care peoples they are simply telling you will get the check within 45 day's but till now getting only the bill , and I am having transaction and complaint Id's with me , please tell me the process how to Put the case against Idea Cellular ,my mobile number is [protected]
                                  Dude u dont know the spelling of cheque u dont deserve to get it or use it..

                                  Idea — Idea activate things themself

                                  I had activated dailertone before few months.And i am getting message like you have successfully renewed dailertone.if I get monthly once then its ok.But the problem is they renew 2 or 3 times in a month.And everytime they cut 30 rs.Yesterday they activated Idea Musicstation.I dont have any idea about musicstation and never activated.They cut 30 rs for musicstation.Thanks to Idea for their extra hardworks.The result is I stopped Idea service and looking into Airtel.Many of my friends also going to ban Idea.

                                  on 11 july 2009 i sent request to activate dialer tone by sebding msg.. and my balance reduced by 45 rs. by reply msg that dialertone has been set but it has been more than 24 hours and i called several times to customer care about it but no action has taken.. they gave me complaint no. 40364939.. and advise me to wait for 2 hours.. till evening i waited.. than i again called to customer care service on 12345 but i think no responsible person were there to receive my call.. i called at dialer tone service and i dont know how suddenly they sent me again a msg that my dialertone has been changed and they charged again 45 Rs. its cheating and i am fade up with these kind o[censored]nresponsible behaviour of co.. i am plannin to change my connection.

                                  Dear Sir,

                                  Every now and then the service provider activates one or the other services on its own without informing the user and deduct the amount from the account.
                                  Whenever the customer care is contacted they never deal the call satisfactorily and dont give the suitable answer. Its only after deducting the amount that we become aware of the service activated on phone.


                                  I just want that before activating any kind of service, the service provider must ask for sending a confirmation sms for the activation like the way they do for its removal. When they ask for such a confirmation for removing the service, they should also ask it while activating it.
                                  I am very much disappointed from such acts.

                                  yesterday 10 rs was directly deducted from my balance.when i called 4 times to customor care 198 & 12345 they told me that our system is slow & we cant give you any updates. every time i called they asked me to call after 2 hours.

                                  actually i have not told to any of their marketing persons to activate SMS MASTI pack . But idea cellular has activated this facility forcefully & forcefully deducted my balance.

                                  Also customor care executives were talking very rude & carelessly.

                                  When I asked them for reason they said its your mistake. You might have pressed any button and service is started.
                                  So finally we should teach them a lesson by stopping IDEA service forever.

                                  One more add on to it. When I asked the customer care why they added the service, they said I have entered the short code for it. I have activated dnd and I do not know the short codes for the service. and the most important thing, time they told me I have entered the short code at that time my phone was switched off because of low battery

                                  I have been using the IDEA Prepaid connection for 6-7 months now. The details of the owner of the connection is as below:

                                  I am facing the following problems for 2 months now:

                                  (a) A regular deduction of Rs.5/- towards GPRS rentals.

                                  I have taken the following measures to resolve the problem:

                                  (a) I have complained on 27-Jan-2011, against the said deduction and asked the customer care executive to lodge a complaint agaist my grievance. The service request no. is 1-[protected].

                                  (b) Despite the above complaint, the deduction did not stop, hence, I called the customer care number again and asked them to lodge another complaint. The said complaint no., lodged on 5-Feb-2011 is 1-[protected].

                                  Now, even on 17-Feb-2011, the deductions have not stopped. There was a deduction of Rs.5/- from my balance today morning.

                                  I called the customer care today (17-Feb-2011) again and asked the reason. They said that, there is a 'SONG-PACK' activated against my number and that is why the deduction has taken place.

                                  But, here, I want to clarify that, I am using a basic handset by NOKIA and GPRS cannot be used from this handset of mine. Yet, they said that there was some SONG download happened.

                                  Now, I want the following steps to be taken in this regard:

                                  (a) The GPRS service, if any, to be de-activated against my number stated above. Since, I have lodged two complaints to stop the said service, it should have been stopped by now.

                                  (b) As stated above, I have lodged the first complaint on 27-Jan-2011, so the money deduted should be repaid to my account balance of my number stated above. The exact amount should be the no. of days, multiplied by Rs.5/-.

                                  I am having Corporate Connection of Reliance.

                                  It is to bring kind notice to you that I have been charged for Rs. 25 on RW Hanuman Chalisa on my number [protected] in my current bill i.e. 7/3/11 to 6/4/11. I called customer care and they told me that I have used that service and the charges are right. I told them to give me the details; they are unable to give me the details.

                                  Previously they have charged Rs 75. On RW Hanuman Chalisa on my previous bill i.e. 7/1/11 to6/2/11.

                                  Kindly go through this matter as if the company is doing this type of thing, than I am sorry to say that it is not good for goodwill and reputation of the company.

My question is that if my account is currently having no balance & if somebody pressed some button for request as I know that no service will be activated then what is the point in deducting the amount later.                                   I got a call from some idea number advertising the caller tunes. i disconnected the call without doing anything.

                                  and after few minutes an amt of 30 was deducted saying caller tune activated. i then called the customer care guys and they are charging me .50 rupees/minute.

                                  the cc guy says i activated the caller tune and when i spoke to him strongly, he put the call on hold and never responded back

                                  i called again after sometime, again the same thing, my call was put on hold and got disconnected. so in total i lost 30+10 INR today for nothing. CC guys are really rude. had the worst experience today from this crappy mobile provider
                                  Yesterday i activted the whatspp pack worth rs39 on my idea numbr [protected]. After activation my balnce from main account is deduting whenever i use the whatsapp.. kindly return the deducted amount and also deactvate the whatsapp pack and also refund the rs 39..

                                    I am a student and a customer of your idea service from past 3 years almost.I was highly satisfied by the services offered to me by Idea network but past few weeks have been very annoying.Few days back, my balance was deducted from the main balance because of messages but I already had the message pack activated .I got a new message pack activated thinking that previous might have ended ,but the message pack was recharged just 10 days back and it had 500 and something messages left. After the new recharge I had 1500 messages around and still my balance was being deducted . I called on customer care and my problem was not solved.60-70 rs is a big sum for me.I still left the issue thinking it for the first time .

                                    But today again it happened.From yesterday my balance is getting deducted .(9+19+15+5)48rs got deducted all over again inspite of the fact that I have my message and net pack activated.I called up and they say that net usage costed me loss of 48 rs (I had 480 kbs left) .


                                    Hoping for a positive response.Preferably money back as soon as possible.

                                      Sir i converted my Prepaid connection to postpaid on 28/11/12 by RaviEnterprises Rudrapur. The executive who appointed there comitted me that your prepaid connection is convert in postpaid with in 4 to 5 working days and prepaid sim will inactive when your pospaid simcard is active, on that condition i agree with them for converting the connection from pre to post but according to his comittment nothing is happen and my prepaid sim was inactive on 04/12/12 and postpaid sim is not active till now. so i m totally failed in business communication from last 4 days. i got too much loss in these days. and when i call the idea zonal office haldwani to Mr shalendra he tell me call after half hr. i call him after 1hr but he cant pick the p hone. after many calls he says i cant do any thing what you want you can do. so please help me .......................

                                        While on roaming, i recharged it online from Idea website, amount was deducted without the recharge done.

                                        Moreover,I got no proper response from the customer care team for the same.

                                        Even I am not able to charge offline with any amount (normal recharge or datapack)
