This complain pertains to our account no. :- 8.10224364 with IDEA CELLULAR LTD. We have booked the complaints with docket number[protected] & docket number[protected] with their nodal officers and appellate also but there is no reply with logical reasoning

We are following up the matter of illogical and gullible tariff rates slapped on the customers of 3G Data Card. But there is no clear response for the local authority at nodal and appellate level so we have bring it to your notice this issue.

Brief History :-

We have bought 3G Data Card from Mr. Arpit Mehta ( an employee from Idea ) along with other local franchisee in Rajkot.

We selected the plan of Rs.750 per month with 2GB usage. When that plan was explained to us we raised a question that tariff for extra usage was exorbitant but the executives explained to us that there is mistake in the plan catalogue and you will charged a maximum of Rs.512 for extra GB o[censored]sage. We made a question mark on the tariff offered and then signed the document.

But when we received the bill we found that we have been charged Rs.3663 for just 0.75GB usage. So for 1 GB of extra usage the company is charging around Rs.5,243/-. Whereas from the plan selected 2GB is offered for just Rs.750 so for 1GB its just Rs.375/-.

So the companies are charging (looting) 13 times the regular price on extra usage. This charge is totally illogical and its like you are penalizing the loyal customer for using extra.

1) For the period upto 13 May the charge per KB is around 0.000368 and thereafter the charge per KB is 0.004763. This is 1294% HIGHER which is absurd and cannot be possible. It is like selecting a plan with 400min free plan at 50 paise per minute and every minute AFTER 400 MIN. you use you pay Rs.6.5 for every minute o[censored]se. Upto 13 may usage is 1291056 KB and charge is Rs.475/-. After that usage is 768997KB which LESS and still the charge is whooping Rs.3663/-.

2) This situation is like levying a penalty on consumer for using more than prescribed limit so it is confusing that shall we use their services more or we should their services less. So you have to inform us what should we do.

3) Suppose a customer selects a PREPAID plan with 2GB usage. When he exceeds his limit his usage is stopped. Now if he again gets a fresh recharge the prepaid customer gets a another 2GB at Rs.750/- and consumes it in a month then his spending is Rs.1500/- for 4 GB. And a post paid customer would end up paying Rs.11,236/- for 4GB o[censored]sage. Usage is same but there is astronomical difference in charges the customer pays.

We want get some explanation from you that why there is difference of heaven and earth on the charges levied on prepaid users and postpaid users by these companies.

Take for example :-

You go to a Hotel and find the hotel is offering a room for Rs.10,000 for 2 night stay and if you stay beyond that you will charged Rs.45 for every minute. You sign the check in form and made a stay there. And unfortunately you make a stay of one more day then can you imagine what you will have to pay. You will be just charged Rs.65,000/- for that extra day which you will remember and repent for whole life. Then you will argue that you should have told that before then I would have booked the room for one more day to save Rs.60,000/-. Then you would be told that no sir you have signed the form you have shell out that amount whether it is logical or not.

These companies are cheating the customers by publishing such tariffs with double rates using different units of measurement. At one place you write GB and other place your write KB there is a difference of 1024 X 1024 = 1,48,576 times in measurement so customer is bound to confused in selecting the plans and calculating his spending. The tariffs offered by them appear to be transparent but they are not, they are like walking in snare with open eye. Normal people do not understand the difference of KB and GB. If the companies offering this service publish a plan 2 GB for Rs.750/- and extra usage of 1 GB you have to pay Rs.5243/-. Then I am sure no one would buy their plans. The plan reads 2GB for Rs.750/- customer understands that he is offered 1 GB for Rs.375/-, he doesnot have to make a calculation what he will be paying for the extra usage he has in mind that if he uses 3GB for month then he may end up paying Rs.1125/-. But as per the plan published the customer ends up paying Rs.5993/-. Another interesting thing to note is that this company is offering another plan where 3GB is available for Rs.850/-. Which means the customer who has selected Rs.750/- plan his spending is Rs.5993 for 3GB usage in month and the customer who has selected a plan of Rs.850/- his spending is just Rs.850/- for 3GB o[censored]sage. Just for a difference of Rs.100 in selecting a plan the customer has to pay so much which is injustice to customer.

We would like to suggest to you that they should have the adopted following tariff structure to give justice to customers :-

PLAN MRP FREE USAGE EXCESS USAGE AFTER FREE USAGE
500 1GB Rs.50.00/0.1GB
750 2GB Rs.37.50/0.1GB
850 3GB Rs.28.30/0.1GB
1250 5GB Rs.25.00/0.1GB

The service providers are using GB and RS. At one place and KB and paise at other place. This is deceiving the customers. If they write GB at both place then the tariff plan would look like this.

I doubt anybody in India would buy their plan if they publish it as above.

We have complained about this issue to them nodal and appellate level they say that they are correct and they are charging as per the tariff card. And since you have agreed you have no option but to pay.
the tariff of 3g are like buying a 2 litres of milk at Rs.60/- and after that you buy you will be charged 0.39 Rs. for every ML ( not litre ) and by mistake you buy 1 litre extra can you imagine what you have to pay... Rs.450/- for 3 litre of milk so instead of Rs.30/- per litre you will end up paying Rs.150/- per litre. Do you think there is rationality in such a tarriff structure... So consumers beware to buy 3G services unless you are ready for such back stabbing of Cellular companies...

    i have recently bought idea netsetter for 1600 bucks for USB and 195 for first recharge..the concerned IDEA castomer care centre mentioned a speed of 236kbps...but technically it is only 3kbps.....PLEASE DONT GET IDEA NETSETTER...ant that too i get a download speed of tremendous 1kbps...this is the worst idea never seen before.these people dont know the value for money...simply giving ads like GET IDEA ..they are useless for no one...SIMPLY IDEA IS THE WORST SERVICE PROVIDER.If you want to waste a total of 2000 bucks JUST GO TO IDEA.Hope these will improve here after reading this comment

    Idea Net Setter — this is too worst in the speed

    1-11 kbps maximum 25 kbps still getting full range
    i got a idea deta card. my deta card no is [protected]. Deta card speed is too slow. whn i reporetd about this matter to idea customar care, thier customar care executive misbehave with me. and they disconnected the phone line. idea net setter service are very pooer and they are just making fool to customer.
    Hiiiiiiiiiii im the customer if IDEA Netsetter its not working Properly, Ts takes An Hour Just to connect, and the service is very much poor

      Dear Sir,

      I am 67 years old - a handicapped person.

      I am using Idea Mobile No.[protected] - Prepaid. I am getting unwanted promotional calls, sms and also calls for girl friends, ........etc. (being an elderly person I do not want to narrate). I get calls at any odd hours - and sleep/resting in the after noon and night is disturbed. Whenever I get calls immediately I am replying my SMS (as if I try their mobile nos. I am no getting them on line) tellig them DND annd also give details of my age, disability, etc. But still I am disturbed. Just at12,38 pm today I received a call from [protected]. I also get calls from [protected],[protected], [protected] and many more.

      I shall be grateful if you can stop these unwanted calls. I am 67 years old handicapped person and my wife 62 years - a sick lady. Only we two persons are at our home. It becomes difficult for us to get up and answer the calls.

        This is request to forward my complaint to IDEA about IDEA Netsetter.Its speed is very very slow.It is not only non useful but also against the committment done by IDEA. .
        I purchaged it just a day before by paying Rs 3250/- . I need its replacement.

        Idea Netsetter — low speed

        im using idea net setter from two months the speed of net is very slow
        they told that the speed will be 240kbps it is not coming even 10 kbpsplease rectify my problem
        Idea Net Setter, the so called" high speed internet" actually is giving speed of just 10 kbps. Moreover half of the time its remote computer is down so there is this Error 619 flashing up.
        No customer care is responding. Even Appellate doesn't respond.!!

        I have several times contacted idea customer care center and technical branch([protected]) for net setter. i tried to lodge my complaint, I am getting error 619 and the speed is also very slow. the error usually comes at night after 12. they listen to my complaint once then keep me on hold and after sometime disconnect the call.somebody please help me as i am frustrated.my idea net setter no is [protected].

        Unlock ANY Huawei USB Modem

        Now you can use any sim card in your huawei usb modem (for eg. Idea net setter EG162G) etc, yes thats 100% true.
        By unlocking your modem you can connect to internet using other operator also which suits you as per your pocket and wish.
        To unlock your modem you need 8 digit unlock code.
        When you insert another sim other than default operator... you have been asked to enter 8 digit unlock code.
        After entering it your modem gets unlocked for lifetime for any sim card around the world.

        To get your unlock code you have to spend just Rs.200 only... and for kinda of your info their is no other free solution for this all over internet... you can google it.

        idea netsetter is really a bad gadget.there customer care executive told, it will get the speed of 60-70KBPS.but am not getting atleast 10KBPS.sometimes it wont connect.really money wasting one.and there customer care executives were not able to solve the problem.they said that slowness is because of low network range but am getting full range but still not getting a minimum speed.hoping for a solution

            This is to inform you, kindly take his license back or remove from IDEA DEALERSHIP of GS MANAGEMENT who is your dealer in Bangalore for giving wrong information and faking customers..

            On 30th May2011 a lady called from GS MANAGEMENT from and told me as you are existing customer we are giving you good offer without rental i.e.. Idea to Idea - 20ps and Idea to other network - 30ps and Local landline and STD will be 50ps.

            After i got my sim activated i got a sms on 2nd saying that Idea to Idea - 30ps and Idea to other network - 50ps and Local landline and STD will be 50ps.

            Hence this is my 2nd very bad experience with IDEA POSTPAID department, i had saved that lady name and mobile no also.. and i had asked her to send me a mail mentioning the plan... i still have the mail in my inbox but then too she had given me wrong plan

            The next second itself i had called that lady (Christy) and asked she told it will get activated by next monday i.e., 6th June 2011.. but when i called on 7thJune to her... no one was responding to my call and i had sent her a mail saying that i will give a complaint on her as well as company but then too no reply...

            As she had done a mistake she dont have that mind to ask sorry also...i dont mind to convert it to prepaid again but then too y the hell people want to make such type of money & faking customers?????

            I just want to know... Y IDEA is giving such a dealership or a license to such a organisation to make money

            Hence idea has a good brand name all over INDIA..IDEA can make a separate postpaid department and start marketing

                  My Idea Cellular operated no.[protected] has stopped working all of sudden since last 31.05.11's evening or so, without any prior notice. I had tried my level best to contact all the concerned in this regard since than including local representative/call centre of Idea Cellular but with no help. A balance of Rs. 318 is still showing in my above said number, dully confirmed by Idea Cellular's representative Mr. Rajan at Patna ([protected])over phone on 03.06.11. Last call made by me from the aforesaid number i.e.[protected] was on 30.05.11 at around 7.43 PM, there is a miss call also on 31.05.11 at around 12.07 PM but since late evening of 31.05.11 I am just unable to make/receive any call as well as just unable to send any SMS too. Last RECHARGE details are: Rs. 111.00 on 16.05.11 at around 8.50 PM, Rs. 333.00 on 25.05.11 at around 1.18 PM. All these details can be recheck at Idea Cellular's end.

                  On 03.06.11's morning I had a telecon with some Mr. Tapas[protected] of Idea's Dhanbad (Jharkhand) region and I had briefed all of the above details with a request to resume my service, he also confirmed me that he will revert back shortly after going through the reason/s of so called "churning" of my above said number but he didn't. I had tried to call him my level best (and still trying) but my calls are not being responded which is very frustrating & disappointing as well as not expected from a reputed Company like Idea. I had contacted Mr. Rajan of Idea's Patna centre but he had shown his inability in resuming the service after 30-35 minutes of talk/hold as well as he was not able to guide me as to whom I should contact even. I had tried to call Mr. Manish Kumar Verma (Nodal officer - Bihar & Jharkhand, I guess) at [protected] but calls were not responded as usual.

                  Any way, I got mail IDs of Idea Cellular's "Grievance Bihar & Jharkhand" from net and writtem them along with all the above details with a positive hope that they will help me in this regard and service will resume but in response I got just "auto generated" mail from them on same day that they will revert back by "next 24 working hours" but they didn't. I had written the reminder to them once again today few minutes back and got same auto generated reply in return. It is frustrating that I am unable to make a call to their Customer Care even, although there is a balance of Rs. 318.00 or so still left with them in my aforesaid number.

                  Salt to the wound is that till yesterday, whenever some one has called on my aforesaid number, it has responded that this number is not in service or something like that and today its showing the same number[protected] as "Invalid" which is very surprising & disappointing at all.

                  Looking forward for your HELP please as this number has been given to most of my Business Associates, Relatives, Friends etc. and due to sudden disconnect of this number without any prior information/notice, I am loosing heavily either its Money and/or Respect.

                    everyday balance is reducing by 2 rs and saying that your fashion mms subscription is auto renewed by reducing your balance by 2 rs.

                    i made many calls to customer care but still no action is being taken.
                    they say your balnce will not be reduced hence forth

                    I wanted to deactivate this value added service i did not wanted at all.

                    When i called the customer care representative of idea cellular,he disconnected the call without intimation and has not listen to the problem.They have wrongly activated a service and on complaining,they are not ready to listen to the problem.

                    I called him up at 2:49 on 20th april' 2010.
                    Please do the need ful for refund of my deducted charge.

                    sir,
                    i was using internet on mobile-[protected] with mnthly plan of 99/-I submitted the request for deactivation of the service on 30 sep10 at 0545 hrs through sms services and got air time msg that ur service will be deactivated after two hrs.for further confermation of the said subject i contact the customer care and his representative (Mr. Harpreet Singh) told me that he was registering for deactivation now through communication ID[protected].that time my balace was 146/-he confirmed that the said balance will not be deducted for the next upcoming month oct10.u can keep the balance above 99/-.i asked him repeatedlyregarding deduction and he ensured me.besides that, they deducted the charges 99/- for the whole month. that i dont want.After confirming from their seniors, i told that ur charge will be credited if fault should be from company's side,but, they are giving unwanted services with out my concurrence.it's not the matter of money,it's the matter of appropriate services according to customer's desire and not to provide false information.

                      here i am asking that network is "without taking my permission 20 rupees money has deducted from

                      i can install idea tv one month plan 150 rupees but idea services not dissconect my idea tv connection they get every month reniew my connection and deduuction amount on my mobile it is wrong many times i contact idea gprs section gprs section is very buisy sir on date 16.12.09 luckily my contact idea gprs seaction i can say my problem they give mee a compliant sr no[protected] and say after 11hrs the connection is automatically disconected but sir they get cheating to mee and againd deduction amount on my mobile account so i can very much harrasment this idea tv section sir please return my amount to this company

                      Yesterday a ph.call came to my prepaid no.[protected] from idea that missed call alert service can be activated free of cost for 1 yr.if i wanted.And i asked them twice about money & they said that no money will be charged for 1 yr.And after a day rs 60/- was deducted from my account with a thankyou sms that for the so called services this much amount has been debited.But this is not fair how can they cheat like this.
                      I had rs 16 in my account balance. but it was deducted yesterday ( 26/06/2013) at 4.30 pm around .

                      And i got frustrated calling customer care from yesterday evening.

                      They respond me
                      System is not updated call after 2 hrs.
                      Now it is 24 hrs but 2hrs didnt came.

                      They didnt tell where the money deducted.
                      No any thing is activated on my no.

                        In airtell network my cell number is off on 26th may, 2011. But my in IDEA network my cell number is not active upto 10 days.. My cell number is not active since 10 days.

                        I have a complaints in our IDEA celluler office of Gandhidham where i met Dinesh bhai. he daily says me there is some technical problem so your number is not active..i go every day in IDEA cellular office but they don't give me a positive response..And i submitted two times my id document in Idea office as Dinesh bhai says. Still my number is dead.

                        So kindly say something in Idea cellular office in gandhidham (370205) to solve my problem.. And active my cellular number.

                          I am writing this mail with respect to a malpractice / harressment observed by an associate company of Idea Cellular which sells new connections to the consumer on behalf of the company. One such company is A2Z MARKETING SOLUTIONS, 1/27, Ist FLOOR, NEAR TILAK NAGR METRO STATION, TILAK NAGAR, NEW DELHI-18, PH[protected], [protected]

                          It was 10 March 2011 when I was approached by a phone call from Idea Cellular for any requirement of new connection. Since I was looking for a new number hence I asked them about the tariffs and plans. The lady named "Shweta" briefed about the available plans and tarriff along with the option to have any desired number. I asked them for a number which was similar to my existing one. She committed that the said number is available. The next day one of their rep - Vipin Kr Pandey visited our premises and took the desired documents. He then handed over us a IDEA SIM Card along with a receipt with the mentioned of the desired number on it. He confirmed that upon verification the connection shall start in about 24-48 hrs. The same evening, verification call came and all requried information was confirmed.

                          Now begins the malfunction part. 3-4 days got over and the connection was not started. I tried to check with the Idea customer care but could not reach them as nobody picked the phone. I tried many times but could not reach them. Then I tried A2Z MARKETING SOLUTIONS. The same lady Shweta confirmed that the desired number is not available and hence cannnot be given. Instead I will have to take any other number. I simply rejected the offer and asked for the refund fo Rs 200.00 whcih I had paid.


                          Since then I have been trying with Idea but nothing happended. I wrote several mails to Idea but nothing happened. later i came to know from others that these third party marketing companies are regularly in such practice of giving false information & committment to the consumers just to have larger order bookings. And service companies like Idea are a part of such trade.;

                          For an organization like IDEA which is trying to promote their product & services by AD campaign its really a disgrace to have dealers employing staff indulging in such malpractice. Some body should do the checks and balances where ever required so that the customer is not duped.

                              I have activated the Caller Tune on this number [protected]. But it was not playing the caller tune
                              who ever calls me just basic tune is playing but my caller tune was not playing. This issue i faced before also i complied many times then they activated after one week. After a Long time i activated the caller tune again but now also facing the same issue. they are saying that u ported from another network that why it was happing. My balance also deducted 45/- rupees. My caller tune code is 1256847.

                              Please help me about this issue.

                                I would like to highlight the problems which i am facing with so called good network which is asking other customers to Get IDEA but have no IDEA how to resolve customer Complaint.

                                My Blackberry services are not working from 26th May 13.30 Hours till date.
                                I made up teem calls and visit to you stores to get this resolved but no resolution as come by.
                                I have been given 2 service request and both of them (1400005 and 1404164) as resulted into zero resolution.
                                As always i will have to bear the full payment without any fault of mine.
                                My outgoing and incoming service were barred for the whole day without any reason ( All my bills are clear and I have positive balance in my account)
                                Customer service has no clue in providing support.
                                In March I was charged twice for blackberry services. Refund for the same is still awaited.
                                I had made a complaint to JP nagar store for refund of my amount for days i had not received services in Jan and Feb and the same has still not been resolved.
                                This is not the 1st time i am facing such problem and my experience with IDEA has been horrible.

                                  I am the subscriber of idea company. On 07th May, 2011 at 2:35 pm I dialed number *886*1# to check my discounted minutes. But at that time company added Rs. 30 with tax in my bill & started safar sangeet facility on my mobile. I filed complaint regarding this & I got request number[protected]. But no waiver was given to me. Because this service activated by your side & there is no my default coz I checked my discounted minutes. Again I filed complaint & this time I got request no. is[protected]. But again no waiver was given to me. Again I approached the customer care, & get the nodal officer & appellate no. I dialed today i.e[protected] more than 20 times to nodal officer & appellate no. i. e. [protected] & [protected] but they did not receive my phone. Bell was running but phone was not received by both of them. I really fed up. Why the company has given these numbers if they have not to attend them. Again I approached customer care , Now senior officer Ms. Rinky did not behave me like a gentleman. Her attitude was rude & she disconnected my call without hearing my issue. Its really very astonishing. Now I can say that IDEA CAN CHANGE LIFE.
                                  Now I request to you please look in to this matter seriously. Please take strict action against Nodal as well as appellate authority as they did not attend me. Also give me waiver with tax coz its not my fault. Its totally fault at your side. Coz, I dialed number to check my discounted summary. Even then I have not enjoyed safar sangeet facilty. You can check so. I hope I will receive favorable response soon.

                                    i use idea celluar prepaid sim card seen last 5 year. today i click on idea power and lost 12 Rs/- from my balance without any alert message. i lost 12 Rs/- i dont get any ringtone, wallpapaer or any other profite so i dont understand why they cut 12 Rs/- from my balance. only i click on idea power & they cut 12 /-Rs. this is not fair. i call tow time in idea chargeble customer care but dont get proper reason for cut my balance. they say "i[censored] click on idea power then idea cut your balance." what is this? this is not a valid reason of cut balance. idea have to give me answer why thay cut 12 Rs/- when we click on idea power. this is cheeting. i think there are many customer lost there balance by this cheeting. atleast company should one be one option for customer like "active idea power" or "inactive idea power". because most of customer dont know about idea power clickble charge. i deside to stop more recharge with idea sim card if they dont give me proper answer for this.

The executive came to my office and tell me thet the card will be activeted in8 hours after 2 days when i call beacuse card is not activeted then they use abuse ward to our director. i think is idea cellular is a bedest company in india .this company have no ability provide 3g service . all executives in idea are also like company.look at vodaphone.. just learn somthing from them

                                        Following are the conversation I had with Idea people please refer to them and help me in getting my money back.
                                        I have recharged one of my Idea number( [protected] ) with Rs. 101through freecharge.in using my credit card on 24.05.2011.

                                        This number has not been recharged so I called up customer care and spoke to executive named Deepak and then Sanjeev they said it takes 7 days to recharge. I again made a recharge on my second number ( [protected] ) with Rs. 109 and that was updated immediately.

                                        I started calling up customer care on 30th May 2011. First with Kalpana then with Bhanu and few more I dont remember all names. I have asked to transfered the call to supervisor or TL on which my call was been disconnected. Yes, Ill say disconnected as it happened multiple times. Then I had a word with Sr. Executives one of them was Ms. Pooja who said my money can not be refunded and I can not take benefit as it is a first time recharge, i said i have been using it for last many years. On this she made it clear that I have to be sure in future before recharging.

                                        Finally I had a word with Mr. Vishal, he said he is a TL but i dont think so that he is a TL and if he is a TL Idea needs to think again before putting such people on high ranks.

                                        Mr. Vishal was same as like any other CCA who was more eager to win over the customer. But he said he will arrange a call back and some senior person will call within next 24hrs. but still Ive not received any call and it is more than 60hrs.

                                        Please let me know how would one know about it? If you are giving permission to any website for recharge services it is your duty to put an alert on it for such critical recharge options.

                                        I don't know how do you feel it but as a old customer of Idea it feels like I have trusted a brand which has no feeling for customer. It is not about just money it is about if you understand and feel the same like customer.

                                        I don't understand when you say no benefits can be provided and money is with you for no reason. Surely I'll break my relations with Idea, I have 2-3 numbers of idea which I will discontinue and will make sure that I talk to every individual about it so that they do not get duped by Idea and it's inhuman policies.

                                        I'll take further necessary actions against it. For you guys Customer is 'kasht se mar' and nothing else.
