Dear Mr. Dasgupta,

I am writing to you as a completely harassed and disappointed customer. I have had an IFB machine for the past 20 years (first bought directly with the reference of Mr. G Dasgupta, am not sure that is you). My first machine was a wonderful experience and about 3- 4 years back, when I first had a major problem with the machine, the harassment began.
The technician was more interested in making his own money, and advised changing the drum, this being done and paid for, he said the body had to be changed. For all this of course the money was never receipted for and the person disappeared without the machine being fixed. Anyway, the end result was that after all these changes, I had a useless machine and had no option but to go in for a new one.

I bought the IFB WM Senorita DLX 5.5 kg on the 24/02/2010. The machine was sold to me as a fabulous piece with a 4 year warrantee. (Invoice copy attached). Given my experience with your after care, this warrantee was especially appealing.

Of course, the technician installing the machine was prompt and great at selling additional products worth 2240/- (copy attached).

I ran into problems with my new acquisition in Dec 2011 itself. The complaint was lodged as No 7779675 on Monday the 5/12/2011 and I had to make umpteen calls to even get a response. Finally one technician arrived and could not solve the problem and after many calls to customer care and then IFB office with numbers of junior, senior management, various technicians etc being given, the problem was finally resolved and a technician called Santosh sent.

On the 5/9/2012., I faced my second major problem, were the machine cycle stopped at a certain time in the wash cycle and the active button kept blinking in cycles of 8 times each. The complaint was registered as 10079587. It is today the 12/9/2012 and no one has bothered to attend to this matter - IFB has made a complete joke of the service and a mockery of the warrantee. I have written in your complaint cell but got absolutely no response.

Prior to all this, a technician called Raghuvendra arrived from the local franchisee (Magic Services and Marketing) after 4 calls. He was a novice, more interested that I buy their powder, and insisted that the machine was fine by turning the knob through the different cycles within a total of 2 minutes. I have had an IFB machine for 22 years now and I kept telling him that I have stood personally and tried to restart the machine, but he just would not listen. Finally I wrote a complaint on his report and hoped they would respond. But as expected no one bothered.
Again the whole cycle began. I was given technicians numbers which were switched off, owner of franchisee numbers, which never picked up, senior IFB personnel, who never bothered. Finally, the same technician of one year earlier, called Amrinder (or Santosh), arrived (seems he is the only one who knows his job). He figured a major problem with the automatic panel and with the drum, which he said was making sounds it should not be. This I was not even giving attention to. HE promised to come over by the evening and change the panel and in a few days the drum as well. This was 4 days back. The number he wrote in my IFB book was a 7 digit non existent number. I am still waiting and have meanwhile called customer care, been given some senior IFB rep numbers again, including one Geetanjali (sr manager) who was not called on the phone and one Abha, who promised action and a definite call back from Geetanjali.

I cannot believe a respected name in the Industry can have such poor and shoddy after care service. This is my 3rd such separate incident of facing really poor service.

I am writing to you directly with a hope that you would personally intervene to have this resolved and if possible change a machine which in its 2nd year is already giving so much trouble.

PS. It is now the 13/9/2012. The machine is indicating a problem in the beginning itself. Another 4 calls to your customer care has yielded a sweet voice and no technician visit. I am truly amazed.
PPS: Today is the 20/9/12 and still no visit after many more calls and complaints……

    I have been registered a complaint with IFB customer-care about malfunction of microwave oven (model 25SC3). The complaint No. is 10085150 of dated 07/09/2012. On 10/09/2012 one technician attend the problem and tell me that an unit has to be changed and made the machine completely dead (initially the convention and grill mod was working). From the next day I am calling the service center every day and every day they are telling me that "service engineer is going to visit your place today". But none has attend the complaint till date.

    I have bought the product on 25/02/2012 and it was costly in response to other band available in the market. My experience about after sell service is telling me that I have made a mistake on choosing IFB over other brand and I must take care not to repeat the mistake.

      I had purchased ifb washing machine (Senator 6 kg) through canteen stores department, bangalore on 11 dec 09. After purchasing this machine, this machine is giving problem since day one onwards. It had a problem of clothes not washing properly and timer was also defected. Complaint was made in last week of decemer, timer was changed but the washing quality could not be improved. One complaint was made on 16 jan 10. Once again complain was made on 20 feb 2010. Some item was chaged but once again wash quality could not be improved. Then complain was made om 04 apr 2010, one technician " anandan" with one more executive came to see the wash quality, they washed the clothes and they were also of the opinion that wash quality is not good. Then i contacted mr nitin (Service manager) he said i 've got the report but did not do anything after that. Then after that i contacted mr nitin no. Of times but he didn't do anything.
      Then i got posted to delhi. After coming to delhi machine was making lot of noise, complaint was made one technician "alam" changed the bearing. After some time again lot of noise is coming from the machine, complaint was made same technician "alam " came and told us that again bearing and drum will be changed. This complaint was made on 28 aug 2012, since today (14 sep 2012) no body has has even contacted. Mr anoop and depika doesn't believe in lifting telephone. Last 5 days i'm trying to contact delhi service center but no body wants to give any satisfactory answer.
      I think sir, this machine has some typical problem and also company is not interested to rectify the problem, they just want to pass time. My request is that my machine may be changed with new one

      Washing Machine — no reply from the company

      I have a 6.8 Kg semi automtic washing machine. The body got rusted. I have complained several times about the problem. Asked the compnay to advise whether they can replace the body or not. The part number has been given them to demand for it. There is not reply from them. VEry very poor service and attitude from Samsung inida. Pl help me.

      IFB — not giving services

      didnt receive any cookery book as usual i dont know how to use this product dont know the service station address im helpless

      IFB washing senator machine — No service and bad response from technicians

      we have been complaining regarding ourwasshing machine from pas one month but no body is botherd from IFB to solvethe problem.The technician namechetan [protected] is not even botherd to pick up the calls.

      we have a senator machine worth 24000 i feel i made a big mistake by taking IFB products.

      IFB — Washing not proper

      IFB — no response not giving proper service

      we had logged a complain regarding washing machine 35 days ago but servicemens come to our house and take that machine with them for repairing and ensures us that they will return it in 3 days .we are facing problems just because of that.
      we had called them many times but there was no response all ur company persons are not responding at all they are making excuses that they will return it in next 2 to 3 days .
      there is no 1 to take responsibility of that .
      so kindly respose to us immediatly or we will take legal actions against ur company

      IFB WASHING MACHINE — no response to complaints

      my machine is under amc no 200386 . it is covered till 2012. however i have called them multiple times but no one comes to repair it.
      My machine is under amc contract no. - 7340 it is covered till[protected] washing machines door and lock is damaged and though we have complained more than one and half month till now it is not done and model no. is 2400k machine serial no. - 11048. So, i would like you to attend at the earliest possible.

        I Mr. Amitkumar Bodhe the son of Mr. Prakash Bodhe continuesly following up with your customer service department since last 6 days even I registered my compliant on your customer care number...My washing machine is not working from last 5 days and my parents are ill so they faced this Inconvenience from last 5 days...Your customer care executive assure me that he IFB customer service can resolve my problem on 9th September 2012 but I never get any single call from IFB customer service department...even I continuesly following up with them then thy give me a cell No. of Ms. Archana (Cell No. [protected]) when I called this leady she given me another customer care No.([protected]) when I again call on this number I never get any clear answer about when they can exactly trying to resolve my problem.....I am having 3 IFB machines and if your customer care service is treating me like this then please suggest me the rite direction...Because now I am fed up with this and will taking some legal actions against IFB customer care department under the consumer protection act....This is my last mail to you ...I need clear answer from your side ...I hope it will get in as soon as possible...

          I have purchased IFB's Elena DX Washing machine from Ananda Jothi Electronics, Chengalpattu on 22nd september 2010.From the very next day they were corresponding to IFB service personnel regarding the activation and demonstration of the machine. The booking call no. is 5156197 & the ID is 2473964.
          Then I got some phone calls from Pondicherry, Vellore & Kanchipuram IFB service personnels. They all ignored us by saying that our area does'nt comes under their services. Mean while several times I contact the IFB's toll free no.
          ( [protected] ) & they told me that they will send the service personnel soon.Nobody has attended our complaint nor came to my house yet. The machine is still " PACKED" in my home. I am very much fed up of this situation and completely not satisfied of the service of IFB personnel.
          Now I would ask you , what should I do and what step can you take to attend my complaint or shall I give back the product to the shop itself.

          NB: Its came to know that a Scratch and win coupon is there along with the IFB product, but I did'nt get the card yet.

          I have ordered for a stand of elena dx and was promised a stand by 2.00 pm on 24th March 2012. Since then i have been calling on their numbers but to no avail. the sales personnel are not picking up their calls. this is service by one of the most known companies ie IFB in india.

              My name is "Vinod Kumar Boppanna" and i had bought IFB washing machine (6 kg).

              On 1st september i had registered a complaint about a problem in the washing machine. Then a person came and found that a card became defective (he said the card name as speed control card). He came on 2nd september 2012. From then onwards, nobody has come to replace the card.

              Everyday, i am calling some local franchise people who are handling this issue. Many times, they don't take the call and out of luck if they respond, they keep on saying that card has come and it will replaced tommorrow. I keep on hearing the same message for the past 10 days. I even called to the customer care and they say that the matter has been escalated and it will be resolved immediately. Yesterday also, i had called the local franchise owner and i was told that the card has come and it will be replaced. Yesterday no body has come..and today morning i called him again, and i was told that the card hasl come and will be replaced.

              So same message i am hearing from these guys. Now, in a metro city like mumbai, a simple card cannot be replaced even in 12 days...then i am thinking what will happen in the small towns. In addition to this, the maintenance people does not have courtesy to answer the call in a proper way and give a proper date.

              IFB has a very poor service center. I urge people to think again before going to IFB.

              To Whomsoever It May Concern:

              My name is Vikrant Agarwal, i am located in Mumbai and i had purchased an IFB Toploader Washing Machine 6501RB 6.2. After few months later from purchase the internal drainage pipe leaked. I registered the complaint and few days later the representatives appear from your service provider name "Global". These guys comes with the hands shaking as they were on holidays, they ask for screw driver from us to open the washing machine. Can you believe that.

              Now when they diagnosed the problem they did a cheap job on it... they had us buy the 5 Rs wala FeviQuick and just bonded the drainage pipe. I had asked them to replace and they started giving me absurd reasons that it was not covered in warranty which when i confronted with person incharge in the office named "Manjunath" told me that it will be replaced but it will take time. I was okay with it.

              Now since that time, In OCTOBER 2012 and this time December 2012 it has not been replaced and the pipe has already started to leak. When i log the complaint... it is marked attended and closed by the same guy Manjunath.

              This is last request and final warning. if my drainage pipe is not replaced within a weeks time i am going to formal complaint in Consumer Forum with all the above information and evidence.
              I bought an IFB washing machine 3 days back, the new washing machine had a defect, i called up the dealer he said it will be replaced the same day, but after calling 4 3 regular days the machine was sent and no service person has still come for demo and installation.

                  i have a washing machine at my home for which i have taken amc from you... i have been complaining daily for the last 20 days vide comp No. 10073229 .... they do not give me a new complaint no as the old no is still unattended...... this is not the forst time... everytime the same thing happens.... i am also your shareholder since your ipo arnd 25 years back.... if this is how u r running our company.. no wonder new entrants are fast overtaking us....

                  now when i call the direct service centre... the lady there mamta doesnt listen to me and hang up the phone saying it will be done soon.... what is the definition of SOON

                  HOW CAN YOU APPOINT SUCH USELESS PEOPLE FOR SPOILING OUR COMPANY'S NAME.. TAKE SOME ADVICE FROM SAMSUNG IF NEEDED.... THE REASON THEY ARE THE MOST PREFERRED BRAND IS BCOZ OF SERVICE

                  IFB WASHING MACHINE — UNATTENDED COMPLAINT

                  Sir,

                  Since last six months my complaint to repair Digital, IFB Washing machine remained unattended.I have called the mechanic no. of times but they have not attended the complaint.I am from Shimla .
                  My aforesaid machine is under Annual Maintenance Contract.
                  My Permanent Customer ID is 1093847.
                  On 14/10/2009 I had made a Complaint on your helpline no.[protected]. The Complaint No.3620687 was given to me by the official present, with regards to the problem in the water inlet pipe, as the proper quantity of water is not coming inside the machine. Thereafter, on 15th or 16th your some local official contacted me for redressal of my complaint and he promised me to come to my residence next day. After waiting for 10 days I again contacted your official through aforesaid helpline on 23rd or 24th of October, 2009 and explained the whole story. The lady official present there informed me that she again marked my complaint as 'Urgent'. Now again 2-3 days had passed but no one had contacted me till date for redressal of my grievance, which is very frustrating and disgusting for me. Today I feel cheated by this kind of behavior of your officials. If this kind of service I am going to have in future then I'll have to think again for having any kind of relationship with IFB.

                  Now more than 15 days have been passed but no one has contacted me till date to rectify my complaint. Please direct your official to redress my grievance and rectify the defect immediately, otherwise I have no option left but to take shelter of the competent court of law for redressal of my grievance.

                    The quality of IFB appliances has gone down considerably. They tend to get out of order very frequently. The service centre does not respond , you are in a queue perpetually for 20 minutes and then it disconnects. The Engineers if they come repair and the problem reoccurs promptly. Please IFB get up and shake . You were once the best consumer company and today the worst.

I am not sure when i will get the right part (Without rust) even after proper followup with company. I request for the senior leadership of ifb to get involved and solve the matter immediately.

                        I had logged in a complaint with your call centre on sun 02 sep 12 @ around 1600 hrs reg water seeping out from the washing machine when i had run a load on sat 01 sep nite. The problem persisted and i had to mop the water manually all thru the nite of sat and thru sun afternoon too.

                        Complaint was regd. With ms sowjaenya on sun as stated above vide complaint no[protected] customer id - 435458. My sister ms phirooza siganporia was expressly told that the complaint would be attended to mon 03 sep 12 by around 12 noon. As we are working people we had to take leave for the same. When we called neo services # 32992272 / 65182272 we were informed that someone would attend to the same by 1400 hrs. As one has normally experienced innumerable calls were made and had spoken to yogesh and were informed that santosh would be attending the same. It would be of interest to note that when i called at around 1627 hrs when there was a heavy downpour from the morn all thru the day i am being assured all the time that the said person santosh would visit soon. Am told by yogesh on the phone that he is on tardeo area. When santosh does call up it seems he is attending to a complaint in gowalia tank area.

                        Anyways he shows up all drenched without even an umbrella and says that he would visit the next day with spares at 1300 - tue 04 sep (Parts need to be changed - pump and pipe - cost breakup given as inr 2750/- pump n inr 450/- pipe change. He has been expressly told that there is a meeting scheduled with a client at 1400 hrs so work would have to be finished and he would have to be out of the house.

                        Come tue 04 sep there is no sign of him till 1325 hrs and so when i called neo services @ 1327 hours i speak to hemlata who tells me that she would be able to attend to the complaint on wed 05 sep - is one supposed to just take leave from one's work and not be informed - she says she needs to speak to her seniors and will revert - i call back at 1401 hrs and same will revert - i have made about 17 calls and becoz they have my calling no they do not even bother to pick up the phone - this just speaks volumes of your franchise's service attitude and reflects on the state of affairs - i have been given her mobile no [protected] by your call centre on sun - when i finally call on that she answers and then says she will get back and then does not answer the cell at all after that.

                        I got back on the call centre line and am told that they are located in hyd but the person ms gayatri was helpful and said that some how the complaint will be attended to by the end of today

                        I want to voice the fact the i have entered into contracts for the service of the same machine but the service time is pathetic - one has to call for over 15 days - why do we get into a contract - for you to earn interest and make fools of customers??? We are all working people and can't keep on taking leave for frivolous reasons to get complaints attended to.

                        Seems to me that people do not take the time to express their dissatisfaction on the service offered by your franchises. - don't give advt's in the papers that you are able to service when expressly the same cannot even by followed.

                        Need to know what action you are going to take against neo services for blatant violations of not attending to customers - not even answering the phones in their office

                        Whilst i am speaking to hemlata i would like to add that there is a senior person in the office as i could hear his background instructions - suggest strict action by taken against the franchise for breach in service.

                            I had purchase IFB microwave by your company in Aug-2009 after got recommanded from my friends that this is only company that values his customers but after purchase of only 1 month there was problem in my microwave and i had logged the complaint which was attended by IFB engineer and its fuse was got detached( As informed us by the engineer) but after 1 year some of the buttons of the keypad was not working for which i had again logged the compalint which was attended by IFB engineer and told us to replace it but as my financial condition was not allowed i try to manage somehow but again in aug-2012 keypad was completely damaged and that time i have no other option but to get the same replaced and again 3rd time on 18-aug-2012 i logged the complaint for that i was charged RS 735 but again after 2 days microwave stopped heating for that again 4th time i logged complaint but this time it was told to us that its heating instrument was damaged which costs us around RS 2400 which was shocking for me as my financial condition not allowed me to get the same replaced also IFB engineer told me that Heating instrument was damaged as its fuse was not working which was earlier removed by engineer in warranty period.
                            kindly help me with the solution as i feel cheated from such great and prestigious organisation

                              After my complaint about my IFB washing machine, the service men came once and said they will come again to repair it but since 4 days, despite calling them repeatedly and despite giving reassurances that they will come they have not come. They do not even respond as to why there is a delay.
                              We have purchased a IFB Senator DX on 6/6/2010 from GIRIAS Investment (P) Ltd.Time being taken for mounting the neccessary connections nearly a month . On July 2010 middle the service person came instal the machine and gave clearence to operate.On 11/8/2010 we noticed that the Drum was not functioning and we filed our complaint throuugh Call Centre . They allot a complaint number 4921933 and assured the fault will be remedy immediately .While we persue the reminder they gave various phone numbers which are either not working or not responding.
                              Even after giving many reeminders atlast on 19/8/2010 one service person came and reportd that the control system is under fault and the same would be replaced with new one by another staff.
                              But till this day (1/09/2010 ) there is no response from your service personel. The raising mentel agony has pushed us why not move the consumer forum.Eventhough we willing to spent some lesser time with hope your executive team would take immediate step to remedy the said m/c and initiate departmental action against the erring staff to avoid the future complaints such this.

                              I brought the washing machine just 1 month back. after installation ifb person offered stabilizer which i brought from him of Rs 1050/- after 1 month machine stopped working and it automaticlly switched off while running.i raised the complain. service person attended it after several calls. he told that stabilizer is not from ifb, it is purchased from other vendor and the board or pannel is lost due to power.
                              its a shame on ifb that their agents itself are making the custmer fool AND IFB SO.
                              lets see what happens after this.

                              if machines board is able to work properly for a month how can custmer rely on machine for 4 yrs. of warranty and so further loner period.

                              Machine is not working from the date of purchase. I have an old mother . It is very difficult to wash the clothes.We have complianed many times but no use.They make excuses and make false promises.It is under warrenty period.

                              IFB 6 Kg washing machine has got some minor repair in 2011. After calling to the complaint cell, the problem was resolved and as per service personal, the washing machine was put to Annual Maintenence Contract. After a year the machine again got trouble but this time its just out of AMC date. We got it repaired and again AMC was put for the machine. From then on every year the problem arises. Even now too the machine is under AMC which has failed this time. As this being a regular job, asked the service personal from franchise dealer to provide the company representative details which was refused by the person. Based on usage the machine is really a good one but after the service person repair, the performance of the machine was lost. When inquired about this to the service person, they are advising for purchase of new one that too without processor machine.
                              Now required some IFB person contact number and details (not the franchisee or dealer) with this permanent problem to be resolved.

                                  I bought front load washing machine two years ago but i did not use it for more then six months as i was mostly out of the town. From last december it is out of order i complaint about it in the month of january 2012. Their mechanic visited but he was not able to detect the problem he just changed one of the part but even then machine did not work i complained once again he did come back changed another part but machine was still out of order for the third time same thing happened. I complained for the fourth time on 11/08/2012 but their mechanic has not paid any visit. My machine is still under warrenty period my customer no. Is 2248530. I want replacement of machine.

                                    This is to express my utter frustration at the pathetic and unprofessional attitude of your service department in terms of accounting, wrong record keeping resulting

                                    in duplication of service charges. The beauty of this is no one from your service centre is willing to redress and correct this error.



                                    My friend – Mr. Nandu ([protected] ) was in contact with your Mr. Vinayak ([protected]) since the last few months. On submission of relevant documents

                                    Mr. Vinayak assured Mr.Nandu to look into this matter but for some strange reason now refuses to answer his phone calls or phone back on seeing a missed call.



                                    Attached are the files pertaining to my complains. In short



                                    There is a standard 2 to 4 years warranty on new appliances purchased. ( 4 years mentioned on your website )



                                    One set of appliances ( washer, dryer, dishwasher, microwave ) was purchased sometime in June/July 2008 for EACH of my apartments in Mumbai

                                    namely 9B Nibbana annexe and 1 A Prashant Apartments in Pali Hill, Bandra.

                                    Installation in Prashant apartments was done in August 2008.

                                    Installation in Nibbana was done in February 2009 ( As this apartment is normally not occupied )



                                    During my quarterly visits to Mumbai I request your service department for checking, maintenance and upkeep of the appliances.

                                    Different service personnel come –some from Elite services. They all claim that the service contract has expired and ask to sign a new contract.

                                    The fault is mine as I had not checked the duplication. However this does not free you, being a multinational, from your responsibility and liability.



                                    I had addressed this issue by registered letter dated 27th August 2010 to which there was no reply forthcoming. ( letter attached )



                                    In my absence in Mumbai my friend Mr. Nandu is assisting me to seek written clarification from you.



                                    I am attaching all the bills and statements. What surprises me is how can your service personnel make errors in the serial numbers of the appliances .

                                    Secondly why are different rates for service contracts being charged for the same model of appliances? These rates again differ from those posted on

                                    your website !!



                                    You are requested and reminded to please correct all these errors without any further delay and inform us the outcome in writing.

                                      I have purchased ifb top load fully automatic washing machine on[protected] and on delivery found it to be defective as the main part which is drum and made of stainless steel is rusting from bottom and stained my clothes twice , on lodging complaint to customer care of ifb one technician visited and advised me to get the machine changed as it was a defective piece but even after 15 days nothing has been done still and every day the customer division gives me a new complaint number with new customer I d and the telephone numbers of seniors are no accessible and my complaint is not getting heard.
                                      I request you to please help me in the same by getting the machine changed at the earliest and oblige.

                                      SUB: Request for replacement of defective washing machine

                                      Dear Sir,

                                      This is regarding a washing machine Digital SX-001551 on 3rd March 2010, paying Rs. 27,500.00 (Sales Invoice no. [protected], Dated 03/03/2010, Sales Order No. 2225735.

                                      I would like to bring to your immediate attention the following:-

                                      1. Within a month of installation, some of the buttons on the machine panel went inside and refused to work.

                                      2. After several calls to your customer care, nobody turned up to solve the problem. Then we had to call one Mr. Md. Salim who sent a represntative after 10 days.

                                      3.The machine has started vibrating and making huge amount of noise which spin drying. It is to the extent that one could hear it two floors above also.

                                      4. It seems that either IFB has sold alot of products that are all defective because the customer care no always keeps us on hold or it seems that they intentionally keep the customers waitng.

                                      5. However, after we finally were able to lodge a complaint ( Complaint no. 4864563) on 31st July 2010, nobody has come to look at the problem.

                                      We think that with the kind of reputation your company has, your company is taking undue advantage and are just fooling customers.

                                      Keeping the above facts in consideration, we urge you to kindly step in and relieve us of the misery caused due WORLD CLASS PRODUCT LIKE IFB WASHING MACHINE. And I would also like to get the defective piece taken out of my house ASAP and either refund or provide me with a well tested product.

                                      I understand if you do not pay attention, I have nothing in my hand to do with you but I will be left with the option of knocking at the door of consumer court. I am sure nothing such will happen as till now I have not approached the right person like you who really cares for the customers, customer’s satisfaction and reputation of the company.

                                      Hope to receive an early reply with clear directive how to get the replacement of the machine.

                                      I bought a washing machine one year ago from IFB with a warranty of four years. After an year, it has started giving problems so I called customer care for help and they sent their man to fix it, but the problem started again the next day. Again I asked for help and they sent their mechanic to fix it but the same thing happened again. This process continued repeatedly for the next four months and then the company declared that they have failed to find and recognise the problem in the washing machine. Since then, they have stopped responding to my calls and have continued ignoring me even when I have the right to claim as the warranty is still active. After giving all the time I could as well as trying my best to get help, I have lost my patience hence I humbly request the authorities to help me get justice. I shall be highly obliged for the same, kindly look into the matter, thank you.
