I have ordered the following items by beleving the sales person of india today book club when he called me and told that i have been selected gold gift voucher worth of 100000.00 by lesening to him i have ordered the items worth of Rs.22500.00 and paid the amount through my card.

order no[protected] sony camcard but i have received samsung camcard which is less value than the ordered one

order no[protected] rbk watch i have been told Rs.598.00 is for handling charges but i have received two rbk watches and told i won rs. 100000.00 worth of gold vouchers which will be send to my address.

order no[protected] rbk watch i have been told rs.598.00 is handling charges for philips home theater but i have received two rbk watches

order no[protected] for philips home theater i have received the same.

after receving the above i have loged acompaint through the mail and through phone to send sony camcard and send the gift vouchers.

i am geting reply wait few more day

totally i have paid Rs.22500.00
i do not know what to do now

the order taken was with reebok shoes, supplied different order.The company is league with it's tele sales executive in cheating the customers.I will never ever place a tele. order & inform others of the fraud.

I returned one of item which they aknowledge by mail. Now i requested them to refund money. They are trying to avoid by putting some other

    REEBOK FITNESS KIT — payment deducted but kit not received

    our booking id is [protected] .we recieved a Sms on 24/02/2009 that our order is processed and order no. is oga[protected] and they deducted a amount of rs 3199 from my credit card .
    now this is 17 march today but we have not received any kit.
    Mr. Mittal, looks like we are in the same boat. These ITBC are nothing but thugs. You can read my complaint also then you will know.

    India Today Book Club — Reebok Fitness Kit a Fraud Yet not Received

    I booked a Reebok fitness kit BOOKING ID[protected] in name of Varun Verma from India Today Book Club on 31st Jan'09 and paid it by credit card of Rs.3199/- but till day no kit i have received on talking to their number[protected] they keep a very long hold or always give false POD numbers of courier so that person keep on thinking that he is being cheated each day .

    SO MY REQUEST IS NONE SHOULD BUY THEIR ONLINE OR TELEPHONE BOOKING THINGS !!!
    THEY ARE CHEATERS AND BIG FRAUDS !!!

    was not successfull, after some days they apologize for wrong message, but till today

    I have booked reebock fitness kit on telphone no.[protected] of india today book club-india shop on 31/01/2009 vide Booking ID[protected] and make the full make payment by credit card Rs.3199/- and give the full particular of my son where the product deliver i.e. B-44, Arjun Nagar, Gali No.7, Near Safdarjung Enclave, New Delhi-110029and Telephone No.[protected].telephone attend by Md. Priya. She says material will reached in 2 to 3 weeks. But I confirm on 22/02/2009 she say it will reach upto 26/02/2009. But on 28/02/2009 again I contact the above telephone no. Mr. Prashant is attend the call and he say that your product is return back due to refusal, I am shocked and asked him to give me the detail of the courier but he refused, again on 01/03/2009 I contact on telephone Mr. Lalit is attend the call and I request him to give the courier name, consignment No. and contact No. first he refused I asked him to contact the call to your supvisor or senior than he give me consignment and courier name i.e. Blue Dart but not give the telephone of courier. I take a telephone of customer care from courier boy he gave me the number[protected] than I contact they say that company has given the address B-44, Arun Nagar, New Delhi. and telephone no. 40028647 instead of the above address they refuse to send the consignment. The consignment hand over to the Blue dart courier on 07/02/2009 vide consignment no.[protected] and return by courier on 19/02/2009 and co. enter in their on 26/02/2009. Till date I have not received the product I have contact on telephone supervisior Mr. Jitender Thakur, Mr. Vishal and Mr. Wazim Khan and other call centre attendant. All say the products will reached within a week. I asked Mr. Jitender Thakur please cancel my order I have booked and refund my money but he refuse. I also complanit through executive vide complaint no. 4546 dated 01/03/2009 and 31956 dated 22/03/2009 but reply received or communication. The staff is say they are customer care but where is the customer care they do. They neither inform me nor drop a letter of return the consignment by the courier.
    You are requested to look into the matter and do the needful and compensate me for delay the products and interest of my credit card.

    India Today Book Club — Non receipt of Reebok Fitness Kit

    Hi,

    I had booked 2 Reebok Fitness Kits on 5th Feb, 2009 after seeing the ad in Mail Today. When I was placing the orders I was told that I would be receiving the orders within 15 days and that if I paid by credit card I would be receiving a Reebok wallet and a Key chain free. So I paid for my orders by credit card. The order numbers are -

    After around 20 days I received a call from First Flight courier service that one of my orders has come but it was Cash on Delivery. I asked them to return it and contacted the Customer Service of Living Media. They said that both my orders have been put on Cash on Delivery and I would have to send my credit card statement by e-mail to prove that I have paid by credit card and then they will punch another order on that basis and send it to me. I called them again after a couple of days and this time some customer service agent told me that it was done by mistake he would change the status of my order to be paid by credit card. I received my 2nd order (No- [protected]) after a few days, but it did not have the free gifts I was told I would be getting. On contacting customer service, some agent told me that I would have to visit the site www.indiatodaybookclub.com and claim my free gifts. After searching the site for a couple of days and failing to find the way to claim my free gifts I contacted them again. This time I was told that I don't have to go to that site and that it would sent to me directly. the agent said that he has punched in to dispatch my free gifts to me and I would be receiving it within a few days. When I didn't receive it I contacted them again, and this time I was told that the gifts have not been dispatched to me as they are out of stock and they don't know when they will receive the stocks. So, I should keep on contacting them and when they will have the stock, they will send me the free gifts, but they don't know how much time this was going to take.

    All this while whenever I called up for my free gifts I would enquire about my first order (No- [protected]), and I was always told that it has been dispatched and I would receive it soon enough. Whenever I asked them why it was taking so long for the order to come, they asked me to contact the courier service and check with them. Upon firmly telling them that it was their job to find out why the courier service was taking so long, one agent booked my complaint and told me that someone will be reverting back to with the reason for delay within 24 hours, but that call never came. Around a week back I got a call from First Flight courier again that my Kit has come but it is Cash on Delivery. I sent it back again and contacted the customer service. I was told that indeed my order was booked for cash on delivery and I would have to send my credit card statement to them and then they will send my order. I called them 2-3 times to tell them to change it to paid by credit card, but every time i was told that even though it was their fault, they cannot do anything about it. So, finally I sent them my credit card statement yesterday to email id [protected]@indiatodaybookclub.com. I called customer service to tell them that i have sent them the statement and I was told that I would receiving a response within 48 hours, and I am still waiting for their response.

    So, now I have received one order but not the free gift that goes with it and I am still waiting for my 2nd order (it has been 48 days that i placed the orders). After I receive my 2nd order then only I can claim the free gifts for it. And today I got 4 calls from India Today Book Club and each time I was told that I have sent them some SMS (which I have not sent) and they are responding to it and each of the agents tried to sell me some or the other product of Reebok.

    I had recived the fitness kit after 45 days of placing the order. I had received wrong size of track suit. So, when I called the Customer care they told to return the whole parcel back. I did returned the parcel back and was following up. but, I dident recive back parcel back. So, I called again to customer care and told them to refund the amount. then again after 2 months I have received the parcel with the same fault. Even after requesting for refund thy have repeated the same. I have called the customer care they are again telling to send back the parcel. I have spent lot of money for phone call(STD) and courier charges.

    I had ordered for a reebok kit (Rs.2498/-) through their (ITBC) ivr line using my credit card on 26th Sep 2009. Afterwhich i would have spent at least Rs.250/- on follow up but in vain. I am yet to receive the Reebok Kit which they promised to deliver in 21 days. Its nearly 2 months now. Whenever i call the customer care, they will say that I will receive the same in next 4 working days.
    For the past one week the reason that they are giving is, their systems are down and they are unable to check the status. Please help.

    Reebok Style Kit from Indiatodaybookclub — Non Receipt of the kit

    I had placed a telephonic order for the ReebokStyle Kit on the 30 Nov2009 costing Rs.2999/-+Rs.200/- for shipping charges on the IndiatodayBookClub. The payment was made through the SBI Credit Card bearing last 4 digits as 9250. The payment was cleared on the same day and was also confirmed by the rep of the firm. The monthly card statement dated 15 Dec 2009 also shows the debit and the payment to the Living media. I tried calling the firms help line 4 times and actually sent the scanned copy of the card statement thro E-Mail on [protected]@indiatodaybookclub.in and [protected]@indiatodaybookclub.in on two defernt occassions. However I have not yet received the kit eventhough more than a month has passed.
    I am attaching the card statement for your information and verification. I requst you to instruct the concern department to act immidiately and send me the kit for which the payment has already been made.

    India Today Book Club — Fitness Kit not received even after 16 months

    I placed an order for a Reebok fitness kit comprising of 4 items (track suit, shoes, bag and a towel). The payment was made through my credit card and the money was debited from the card account. However, I am yet to receive the goods even after 16 months. I have made innumerable calls to their Delhi number and always get the same answer that they are forwarding my complaint to their despatch and I should be getting my goods soon. The same was the reply for several emails sent. I am really fed up with this company. Being a media company they should maintain some basic honesty in their deals. If they cannot deliver the goods they have no right to keep my money with them. They should atleast return it with interest from the day they received the money.

    I had booked fitness kit with India today book club and bagittoday in sept. 2009with order no OGA[protected] and i had received a sms confirmation on 30/09/2009 to this effect. on 13/10/2009 i receive a sms atating theorder has been dispatched on 9/10 by dartmail.
    The order has not reached mumbai uptill now, inspite of approximately 40 mails and communications and umpteen no of calls. Each time you get a stereotyped response to the mail but there is no decision on the problem. the call centre executives after waiting for atleast 10 minutes each time to talk just hang up in between and it is frustating to start all over again.
    All i want to know is when can itbc deliver its promise or refund my money.

    Wih reference to the above subject, it is to inform you that i, Mr Rajan Kodamana had placed an order for rebok articles which includes shoes, bag, sunglasses etc costing about rupees 3000. This order was placed through an advertisement on Times of India news paper. However the same articles are not recieved by me till today. Wherese in the montly statement of July 2010 of my sbi credit card number [protected] of Mr Rajan Kodamana charged rupees 3298/- and debited as the pending payment towards the living media india ltd delhi. Subsequently adding the late fee charges in he statement for the month of Aug, Sept, and Oct of 2010.

    As such, you are requsted to give necessary instruction to the sbi card authority to do the necessary correction and a freshup to date statement may be issued at an early date to settle for any payment.

      iii) Daman.

      d) You can see I have sent almost 57 reminder. Both India Today and Big City have entered in this scheme to get the customer in their net and then not honour their commitment...!!

      Please send Notice to the Managing Director of India Today and he may be called to the consumer court to answer this case.

      A) He should be directed to withdraw the scheme from the Market.
      B) Publically Apologies for running such fraudulent schemes
      C) Make good the mental Anguish cased to me by their employee attitude.

          India Today Book Club — Non delivery of welcome gift

          I had purchased Reebok sunglass from "www.bagittoday.com" and tried to lodge my claim for offered free gifts on their given web www.bookstoday.in/promos.htm it was not available. Afterward, I have called on[protected] and other india today phone numbers which has yielded no result.
          I can not imagine that the company from india today group can do like this.
          I had booked order India Today book club of Reebok sunglasses and my order no is 0GA[protected] which promised to give Reebok Watch as a free gift. but when i recieved the parcel from Bag it today, i have only only recieved reebok sunglasses. Instead the Invoice mentions that to claim the free gift Reebok Wrist Watch we have to log on to www.bookstoday.in/promos.htm within 60days of the invoice date but to my surprise the said site does not exist. When the remittance was already credited to India Today book club
          I bought a Mont Blanc pen for my father on his birthday from India Today Book Club. I also got a CK watch with it free. I think it was a good buy.
          I had booked order India Today book club of Whirlpool Micro oven my order no is 0GA[protected] I did recieved the parcel from you, till date. And I got a call from India Today from Mr. KUSHGRA ROY

            I bought an India Today Holiday Voucher No.003083 with Order No. ITBC 0941743 in the year 2009 since then I was trying to book accommodation however I could not book accommodation as I have got no accommodation available status all the times, I tried for different dates for different cities in different countries however all my efforts goes into vain. I would request you to look into this issue ASAP and settle my account at the earliest.

                Like the others I was convinced by a telephonic conversation on 2nd aug 2010 by one of the sales man named Mr Ravi Das that I won 55,000 rupees gifts/cash . To claim the same I will have to purchase a product from them. By the brand name INDIA TODAY I was convinced and purchase a product bed sheet of rupees 5698 with delivery charge 598 on 4th august 2010, It was promised I will get product within 7 days. After 7-9 days I got a parcel of two reebok watches but not the main product. After that I called bag it today, they replied me that the product was not available and my money will be refunded. I said ok how long it will take time to get my money back? They said within 7 days. After a few days the so called RAVI DAS again called me saying that my earlier product was kept on hold as I my reward amount has been doubled to 1,10,000.00 for which I have to purchase one more product. As per the phone call I again purchased a sony erricson c903 mobile phone using my credit card. My transaction was of 8998+598 rupees on 25th august 2010 with ID s[protected] & 11084737 . He told me that I will get confirmation email but I did not get any mail. I have received two sms s of transactions made with LIVING MEDIA INDIA LTD. Again the next day the so called representative called me again telling that I hve to pay another 2000 rupees to fulfill the requirements. I have paid 2000 rupees. But after that neither I am getting any product except two reebok watches again. When I contacted them they told me that my transactions are not matching with the number and person. I have contacted with bank they told me that the LIVING MEDIA INDIA LTD has claimed all the money on 26th and 27th august.
                Now I have the proofs of the payments in the form of credit card bill detail. And sms . I need my money back. I hope you will do a fever for me. I will publish it on all the main leading news channels and papers. INDIA TODAY IS A BIG BIG BIG BIG FRAUD. Bank is ready to help me because I have the proofs.                 India Today Book Club — not returning my money back

                I ordered for the rebok fitness kit by seeing the mail received from promotional offers from irctc through india today book club.

                I have ordered for one set of fitness kit and i paid through my credit card.The very next day i got a call from india today book club that my process in bill payment threw online has not completed and so they asked me to do the bill payment by IVR. So again i given my details in the IVR for making payment.

                That day i noticed that the amount of rupees 3198 has been detected twice from my account for one single order. I received two orders instead of one.

                After inquiry with your customer care i have sent back the extra order to India today book club, Delhi on 05/02/2009 .

                I received confirmation message to my mobile from india today book club stating my order has returned back to india today book club.

                Each and every time i call them they just manage to pass time saying they are checking that this etc...

                they are trying to cheat ...

                I am still awaiting a response from them and refund of the amount I have paid them.

                  I tried reaching India Today / Bagit Today customer care on [protected], but it was not reachable.

                  I recieved a call yesterday i.e 9th Sep 2010 and was told I won a 1 lakh rupees worth vouchers and I can purchase anything from www.suratdiamonds.com

                  The sales executive forced me to order Samsung Omni Lite phone and I received the call from +[protected] and [protected]. I purchased this mobile and the order number was[protected].

                  I was told I would recieve the phone along with 2 more gifts i.e free return air tkts worth 7000 and also History of World Book worth 3000 Rs

                  For Order :[protected] where I was supposed to recieve 1 Lakh rupees worth gift vouchers for the purchase of Samsung Omni Lite mobile for Rs 14880. I was promised by the sales executive that I would recieve 7000 Rs worth domestic air tkts and world history book cds worth 3000 Rs as well. Then another lady called up from the verficaition department today that I will not recieve the 1 lakh rupees vouchers unless I pay 299 Rupees more. With all the confusion and wrong details I have decided to cancel my order.

                  Pls do not dispatch this order (Phone+ Free gifts) and I will not accept it. I know there are many people who got cheated due to your company. Just to be safe generally I record all the calls which I recieve.

                  If you do not cancel my order and try dispatching the product, let me tell you, you will be all over the news. Also the customer care department executive(Balakrishna roa) confirmed that my order can be cancelled on Monday since the order is not punched today. So do not play gimmicks here and just cancel the order and make sure you refund to my credit card [protected].


                  Just for your info, I have attached the call voice recordings in my mail to ([protected]@indiatodaybookclub.com) and ([protected]@indiatodaybookclub.com) which has the confirmation of free gifts from your company sales executive. I think the name of India today is getting ruined by doing such wrong things. I expect you to cancel the order[protected] by 13th Sep 2010 failing which I would hand over the things (audio tapes) to newspapers and media on television. It can damage your reputation in 1 day. I had to write such a strong mail just looking at the complaints registered online on India Today and want you will take QUICK ACTION.

After 15 days, when I had not received same material from your end , than I had contact your executive on [protected], At that time , they had told me that, your area is not covered under delivery area and option is there , if you want take those product, you can collect from your office, otherwise you can get same amount refund.

                    That time , I gad clearly told them to deposit those amount & they ensured me that, you will get amount within 20 days.

                    After 20 days, I had check my account and not found any debit from your end. Today I had talk with your representative ( Mr. Vikram) for same and surprise answer was that, yesterday your product was couriered from your warehouse.

                    Now question is that, I had already cancel those product & inform to you for refund those amount, than why you dispatch same ? 2nd thing was that , nothing communication has been there from your end regarding this update.

                    Finally my sincerer request is that, I required only refund, Request to take corrective action, otherwise option is there for to reach consumer forum for get justice.

                      I had applied for the CDs and the same came to me by VPP thinking they would deliver me free gifts i.e. Reebok t shirt and adidas bag. Made several reminders to them. Now I am going to publish about India Today in Malayalam Newspapers about this.
                      I bought a set of 3cds, which included a gift of adidas bag + holiday voucher. I made d payment of rs. 574 on delivery but i got only cds. It was written on d bill that i have to go to bookstoday.com/promos.htm n fill d given number on d page to claim my gifts. Bt there s no such option on d page. I tried contacting customer helpline on [protected]. Bt dey are disconnecting d call. Plz help

                      In first week of October 2009, I received a letter from India Today Book Club that you will purchase a book and send Rs. 2199/- and you will get the following :

                      1. Book ‘Complete History of the world’ MRP 4499
                      2. Round Trip air ticket worth Rs. 7000/-
                      3. Reebok classic Watch worth Rs. 2599/-

                      COPY OF LETTER IS ATTACHED HEREWITH (as annexure A)

                      I have send a cheque of Rs. 2199/- of Corporation bank vide no. 0142543. The same was debited to my account on 23rd October 2009. (STATEMENT OF BANK ACCOUNT ATTACHED, as annexure B).

                      Till now I have not received any Letter, Book or Gift. I call to customer care more than 10 times and they always says that we don’t have any record in our system. Then I send the mail to India Today Club along with statement and letter, they did not give me any satisfactory reply. Their replies are as follows :

                      I got a call from INDIA TODAY BOOK CLUB saying that i had won lottery of Rs.3.75 lakhs. As i have done purchases from this company earlier i came into their words. So, to claim those amount they asked my to make a purchase of Rs.29000/-
                      And for that 29000/- they said that i'll be recieving watches-2 no.s, dinner set -1 no. and one diamond gift voucher. But i only got the 2 watches not any other things. When i called them back they are saying that my order was of 2 watches one diamond gift voucher and one holiday voucher. And they are not providing the address of the office to visit personally, just hanging up the call.

                      This is shameless and completely unacceptable that a book club of your repute and stature is employing qualified thieves, liars and .
                      I wish to place on record the conversation that happened with my husband Mr Sanjeev Kumar Julka on 02.03.10, the call came from the number 45188600 informing him about his being selected as one of the top 15 names who are being rewarded by the book club. Upon detailed disucssion it came to light that if the customer buys any two products he would be ASSURED OF A CHEQUE WORTH RS1 LAC from the club. To this the customer asked as to how come the company is offering such a big amount without any reason and the girl on the other side promptly and confidently replied that pls don't doubt or worry it is actually true. She also confirmed that after placing the order my husband would be receiving a confirmation mail on his mail id regarding the same which obviously did not arrive even the next day. To this my husband callend on the call c entre number PH No 40502424 and naratted the whole incident and a staff confirmed that there is no such scheme going on and this is a lie. Please note that the order nos given were[protected] amd[protected]. My husband was totally shocked and horrified that the amount had been debited from his credit card and he had been duped he immediately placed the cancellation on 03.03.10 and the nos given were 392083 and 392067. The call centre informed that the money would be returned after 21 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. It took two seconds to debit the amount and is taking 21 days for you to return a money that was taken by your fraud employee.

                      I am not writing anything else but a copy of this is being sent to the crime branch of CBI to investigate and round up the fraudster calling. I will make sure that the guilty are punished and dragged to the court of law for making a fool out of people who trust and are loyal customers. Pls do not try to send me any free gifts to close this call since this matter is going to be brought to the notice of many such authorities including the consurmer forum. I am agitated and aggrevied at this and demand immediate return of my money and the organisation must deal with such employees very stirctly and harshly.

                      i was a member of india today chor club, i kept ordering reebok kits and other small items from their website. one day i received a call from them, they telling me tht i have won 3.5 lakhs in their sweepstakes and made me transact over 80000 in 3 different ivr transactions.. then they shifted the date of sweepstakes from may to june, so i called up customer care and they told me tht no winners have been decided, whtever the sales agent are saying is wrong.. i cancelled all my porders number of times on phone as well as email, yet i had to refuse the delivery at my doorstep.. its been 4 months since i have been waiting for my refund and despite my numerous calls, i have recieved nothing.. i am making calls to numbers i am finding from internet to people like me who have been duped by living media to start an agitation on a wider scale and take them to court as well as various media channels so people can understand wht malpractices they are doing.. at the time when i am writing this article.. i have found 6 people who are willing to join hand.

                      Yes I agree Nishant...Thay are really a bunch of ras.als out there..People easily get duped by the brand name.                       After much discussions/arguments and later considering the Brand name of India Today Book Club, I decided to go for transactions as per requirements. After all the transactions he has confirmed that my profile is all complete now and he personally will process this for next actions and I should wait for the email from your team and act on the email once received, which I can expect to receive on my email address by 23rd June.

                        When this offer was first time offered to me, I was told by Ms. Kanika (calling from [protected]) that my name is chosen for this offer and that if I purchase a product worth INR 15,000/- then I will be entitled for a gift voucher amounting INR 1,00,000/- which can be redeemed to buy gold on line from Surat Diamond.
                        I requested her to call me on August 10, 2010
                        On August 7, 2010 I gave a call to your customer call centre and found out that the voucher will be of INR 5,000/- each and that I can use one voucher per purchase.
                        On August 10, 2010, I received the call from Ms. Kanika as requested. When I asked her what would be the denominations of the voucher, whether it will be one voucher of INR 1,00,000/- or smaller, she transferred the call to Mr. Vishal.
                        Mr. Vishal flatly refused the fact that I can use the only one voucher per purchase and he assured me that it will be one voucher of INR 1,00,000/- and not multiple vouchers.
                        On 11th August again I got a call from Mr. Vishal and he assured to the fact that it will be a voucher for INR 1,00,000/- and also that if I get an multiple voucher of INR 5,000/- I can use all 20 voucher (Totaling INR 1,00,000/-) for a single or multiple purchase without paying any more money (Provided the purchase is under INR 1,00,000/-). Only one this assurance did I placed the order.
                        After placing the order, I received a call from your verification department (Deepti), who informed me that first voucher 20 x INR 5,000/- will be shipped and after that the cam coder will be shipped. I was shocked with this and I asked her if 20 x INR 5,000/- can be clubbed together to make purchase, to which, her answer was negative.
                        I straight away told her to cancel the order, since I felt cheated by your executive Mr. Vishal.
                        Around 7:30 PM one Mr. Vinod (Who Claimed to be Sr. Manager) called me and told me what Mr. Vishal told me. He even spoke to my husband, who clearly asked him by giving example: if I want to buy an ornament amounting INR 98,000/- what we should do. To which, Mr. Vinod informed me that we can use 19 voucher amounting INR 5, 000/- each and pay the balance INR 3,000/- by credit card.
                        We accepted this offer and again asked him not to cancel the order
                        Within 1 hour I received a call from one Mr. Amit from verification department. When I again requested him to confirm the information given by Mr. Vinod, he declined and said what Deepti had told me, that I cannot club voucher and that I have to use one voucher per purchase.

                        when to find out what had happened about my money I called on 16th August and spoke to one supervisor called Mr. Kapil Agarwal. He told me that the order has been already despatched and if i don't want it i should reject the courier and within 10 working days after receiving back the parcel, my card will be credited with the amount.

                        After so much followup on email and on phone I received a mail on 29th stating that the complaint is forwarded to the concerned dept and we will get back to you soon. This "SOON" Has till date not occured. Today is 4th sept. But till now there is no response from Indiatoday/Baggittoday .

                        I am feeling cheated by this entire incident and my money is blocked.

                        India Today Book Club — wrong commitments

                        I was informed of a GOLD BOX Offer on the phone by one of the ITBC exec. According to the offer i was made to purchase a Samsung LCD 22'' for 17000 approximately + 1799 delivery charges against which i was supposed to receive a free sunglass + a wrist watch + 1 lac worth surat diamond vouchers.
                        I expected to be a fair offer being from India Today group but unfortunately even group like India Today seems to be least bothered and are trying to earn by cheating. We just received the LCD along with the wrist watch. When we inquired it again regarding the vouchers we were asked for our email id and were told to be sent via email. However later as in on the 23/8/2010 we received a call from some ITBC Exec - Lokender and were required to pay a certain amount to generate a dispatch id which was not communicated to us at the time of placing the order. Moreover the exec dint bother to explain the case and hung up. Do not trust this company for anything. This was my second bad experience with ITBC.
                        Gold box offer is nothing but a list of vouchers each worth 5, 000. When you try to buy anything from Surat India ( another cheat ), you will only find items ranging 10 K and above. As you can not club vouchers you end up paying the difference ..This is again a gimmick to make you pay more...So no big deal that these guys promise 5 Lakh gold voucher ...( basically if you want to realize it ..you end up spenidng 5 lakhs from your pocket ..). So you havent lost much. I hope your LCD is good !!!.
                        I m agree with mukund. gold vouchers are just meaningless. to claim the same you have to spend a minimum of 4000 rupees from ur pocket per each 5000 rupees voucher.I think this is a policy to cheat people by both India Today and surat diamond.

                          I placed an order for a cutlery set on bag it today vide registered order no.[protected] on 22nd August, 2010. The payment was made on the site through credit card. The order history confirms the payment.

                          When I contacted the bag it today on 30th August, 2010, I had been informed that the order has been sent to me address through VPP.

                          When I took up the matter of having made the payment, I am being told that when VPP comes to my address, i have to refuse the same, it will go back to bag it today, they will take it into stock and then they will only send another prepaid parcel.

                          When I am taking up the matter regarding providing me the email id / mobile no. or direct no. of the head of customer care, I am just being told that it cannot be provided. I had spoken to various people on STD calls, taken up the matter at different email ids, such as contact @bagittoday.com, [protected]@bagittoday.com, [protected]@bagittoday.com. No body has given a satisfacotory reply.

                          ALL THE SAME THE REPLY I HAD BEEN GETTING FROM ONE AND ALL IS THE SAME, PREPAID PARCEL CAN BE SENT ONLY WHEN THE RETURNED PARCEL IS TAKEN BACK INTO STOCK.

                          THIS IS THE WAY CUSTOMERS ARE HARRASSED AND PUT TO LOT OF INCNVINIENCE AT THE HANDS OF INCOMPETENT STAFF AND THE RIDICULOUS POLICIES AT THE HANDS OF BAG IT TODAY.

                          THEY ARE JUST A IRRESPONSIBLE LOT AND ONE SHOOULD NEVER DEAL WITH THEM.

                          Please stop sending the following standard response “We have gone through your complaint, we would like to inform you that as per our terms & condition product may be different from the picture on the site or on the catalog.” I understand that as per your terms & condition product may be different from the picture on the site or on the catalog. I had ordered one model but you shipped a model half its price, I am just asking you to ship the model that I had ordered of any color!!!.                           I will simply like to say that the way orders are being handled at your end and the way your executives and supervisors speak to the customers is really ridiculous and beyond tolerance.

                          Suggest you train your staff to process the orders meticulously as also train your executives and supervisors to speak to the customers in sophisticated way.
                          I really fail to understand the way you people work.

                          I was told on 7th September that my order has been processed on prepaid mode and it will be despatched soon.

                          On Saturday the 11th Septeember, I was told that the order will be despatched on Monday the 13th September, positively and I can have the courier details on Tuesday.

                          Today when I contacted I have been told that it will take another day or two for the parcel to be despatched.

                          WILL SOMEONE RESPONSIBLE AT YOUR END LOOK INTO THE MATTER AND LET ME HAAVE THE COURIER DETAILS AT THE EARLIEST WITHOUT WASTING ANY FURTHER TIME.

                          On tuesday 14th when I contacted customer care, i was told the order will positively be despatched on Wednesday and i can have the courier details on thursday.

                          On Thursday 16th September, i.e. today when i contacted, I have been told it will be despatched on Friday.

                          When I asked to transfer the call to supervisor, i was put on hold for a long time only to be told that the call cannot be transferred to supervisor as he is busy.

                          When I insisted for a call back, i was told that the supervisor will call back in 2 to three hours. This was at 10.07 am today. Till writing of these comments i.e. 14.37 hrs, 4 hrs. have passed and perhaps the supervisor is still busy but with what i fail to understand.

                          THIS IS THE WAY YOUR EXECUTIVES AND SUPERVISORS BEHAVE JUST TO GIVE THE CUSTOMER AN IDEA THAT HE IS THE MOST UNWANTED PERSON FOR THEM ON THIS EARTH.

                          I ONCE AGAIN REQUEST WILL SOMEONE REALLY SERIOUS GIVE A THOUGHT TO IT AND SEE TO IT AND GIVE ME THE DESPATCH DETAILS.

                          When contacted yesterday the customer care executive Mr. Sala Krishna Rao advised to wait for some more time may be about a fortnight. Inspite of the earlier commitments of the executives that the supervisor will call back no body botherd to call back.

                          So much so that a request no.625996 dated 17th September was created for the supervisor to call back still nobody bothered to call back till writing of these comments i.e. 18th September, 4.10pm.

                          moreover mr. sala krishna rao put me on hold thrice putting together the time on hold to something like 20 mibnutes but preferred to disconnect the call abrubptly without satisfying me on my queries and saying wish u a good day.

                          I WONDER HOW CAN IT BE A GOOD DAY AFTER FACING SO MUCH OF PROBLEM AT THE HANDS OF HIS COLLEAGUES AND THE ORGANISATION AS A WHOLE.

                          NO BODY BOTHERS TO REPLY THE EMAILS ADDRESSED TO OFFERS, ORDER OR SUPPORT OR EVEN ONLINE COMPLAINT.

                          After generating the ITBC request form no.ITBC23177, filling up the same and having sent the same to Premeier Sales Promotions Pvt. Limited, Bangalore as desired on 29th September, I am still waiting for the vr. to be received.

                          I have even contacted them on telephone no. [protected] twice, and everytime I am told, we will check up and get back to you.

                          But on the contrary no body gets back.

                          It appears that the problem is not only with Indiatodaybook club but with all their partners as well.

I got a call from india today book club on 22/07/2010 that u have selected as a lucky customer in a draw & you are eligible for the 10 lakhs golden jewellery for that u just have to make shopping of rs 64972/-. i told them i dont have that much money they asked me do u have a credit card i said yes but i refused them but they convinced me by saying that u will get 10 lakhs then u can pay from that amt to bank. but i found that there is no gold jewellery & they just sold me their &

But they are not doing anything they are not attending my calls pls pls help me to get back my money from them as soon as possible.

                            India Today Book Club — Fraudulent commitment of India Today

                            Kind Attn: Mr. Janardhan Kapardia (Sr. Board of Director) & Mr. Aditya Kumar Garodia (Sr. Manager Accts & Finance Dept) - ITBC

                            I had recieved a call from India Today Book Club on First week of April 2010. The caller told me that I have won an assured cash prize of Rs.10000 based on my previous transactions with India Today Book Club. In order to get the cheque for this Rs. 10000, I have to buy one product from them. The caller made a fantastic conversation it seemed to be genuine to me. Then I have bought a Rs.7498 Philips Portable DVD player. The Booking ID was[protected]. Immediately after one week some other guy called from ITBC telling me that my name was entered into a contest because of the purchase of DVD player and I have won a Rs. 50000 cash prize which will be sent to you as a Demand Draft. To receive this amount I have to pay the income tax in advance. Then he says when I pay the taxes in advance they will give a product also. I have bought the product- Samsung Omnia 3G phone, Price Rs. 14998. Booking ID –[protected].

                            Later on 08 May 2010, another gentleman called and excitedly congratulates me for winning a cash prize of Rs. 6.37 lac. Then he tells me that to become eligible for this assured cash prize my expense needs to meet certain criteria. To meet this criterion, he offered me three products and I need to buy one of them. In turn I asked him to give the first two assured cash prize then I will think of buying a product. He said when I was selected as the winner of Rs. 6.37 assured cash prize, the earlier two assured gifts are forfeited. If I do not buy a product now, I am only eligible to get a cash prize of Rs. 2000 and gift voucher for Rs. 5000 only. Then he lured me to buy the product and get the assured cash prize. He guaranteed to me that Senior Director Janardhan and Garodia will deliver the cheque on 28 July 2010. Further he assured me that this is the last and final purchase I need to make and he will give a closing number. I have bought a Longines watch of Rs. 21750. (Booking ID –[protected]. He gave me the closing number. (CLO_574098UIO) (All these conversations are recorded in my phone)

                            Few days later Mr. Aditya Kumar Garodia called me and introduced as Sr. Manager Accts & Finance. He is calling in behalf of Mr. Janardhan Kapardia – Sr. Board of Director. He informed me that the official declaration will be made on 15 July and the cash prize in the form of cheque will be delivered on 28 July. He gave me the IDBI Cheque No. 007594 and noted down my email id. Then he gave me a Confidential No, a Prize Blocking No. and the above mentioned Closing No. He warned me not to disclose these numbers to anyone. Further he stated that there will not be any more call on this subject and the invitation will come to you.

                            Again on 27 May 2010 Mr. Prince Srivastav called and verified the prize amount and took PAN card details like name written in PAN card, email ID, credit card used, two Nominees name and age. Then he told there will be a Seminar on 30 June for which you will be invited through email and telephone. I will have to submit copies of PAN Card, Residential proof, and a Passport size Photo with red background. If I am not able to attend the seminar, then these documents can be sent by courier. But till now I have not received a single email or telephone call to attend the seminar or asking the bank account details from ITBC. (All these conversations are recorded in my mobile phone)

                            I have waited till 16 July and made a call to the customer care on the same day. Ms. Hina picked up the call. I have explained the whole story to her. Then she said some of the sales executives are making false statement and assurances to attract customers to buy products. Then I told this is cheating and what actions your company is taking against these employees. She said she has to consult with her senior to give a reply for this and noted my complaint and gave me a complaint No. 561203. She assured that some senior person will contact me within 2 days. Nobody called me. Again on 20th I made a reminder call. The executive told me that system malfunctioning, please call tomorrow. Again on 21st when I called customer care, Ms. Hina came on line. When I enquired about my complaint she consulted with her senior and confirmed that a senior person will contact me tomorrow (i.e. 22/7/2010). No one called me on 22nd. I again made a call to the customer care on 23rd. Mr. Pawan picked up my call. He said that a feedback call from a senior person will be given within few days. No feed back call till today.

                            From March onwards my company is facing big financial crisis. I have not received my salary from May onwards. I am not able to pay back the credit card bill. The interest along with the principal amount is adding up in my credit card statement. I am waiting for the guaranteed and confirmed cash prize to be credited into my account, so that I can pay back all my dues. I made the decision to buy these products only because of the assured cash prize. Otherwise these are not at all my requirement at my present critical situation. Rs. 45000 is a big amount to me. I can keep my family without starving for three months with this amount in my present condition.

                            Please Note : I have not received the Longines watch till date.

                            I believe the board of directors and other senior people will look into this matter and settle this issue immediately.

                              I had placed an Order for Samsung Mobile with Bag It Today on 09-JUN-10 (order no TELESALES/0GA[protected]. First they give me the Aramex courier no - [protected]dt.[protected]. But the Aramex people said there is no such consignment. So I canceled the Order and the money is not yet refunded, Whenever calling there help line[protected] they said some one call me and conform the refund. But nobody does. for the past few days they said they are having some technical problems and call the next day. Advice me how to retrieve my money?.

                              By seeing the e-mail advertisement of INDIA TODAY BOOK CLUB, I have placed an order for 2 nos of REEBOK ROLLER COASTER SHOE (Size 9 and 10) on 17th Nov 2009. My order numbers (web number) are[protected] and[protected].

                              And also I have given payment through my credit card. (Rs 1398 + Rs 1398 = 2796). This amount has debited from my account also.

                              I have ordered it before about 2 - 3 months. Still I did not receive any products.
                              India Today Book Club have been cheating me for last 2 months.

                              I am putting this complaint here as warning for all customers of ITBC.
                              Me and a group of customers really found that ITBC is the most unreliable company in India. ITBC is the most prominent company, who cheating its customers always and always.

                              I have placed an order for a Reebok Shoe on 17th November 2009. And paid through my credit card.

                              Till date I did not get the product from them. Before 1 month, I have requested for refund of the money. They assured the delivery of refund cheque in 21 days.
                              Again they change the word. I did not get any cheque even a call from them.

                              ITBC is really cheating all the customers and government. I strongly recommending to the public to BAN THE ACTIVITIES OF ITBC.

                              Legal action is necessary for it.

                              As per my email earlier which you have not replied am again explaining
                              here my objections. On 4th Aug I have paid through cell pay using my

                              I have recieved two reebok watches. But till now I have not recieved
                              the Refund value 5698 rupees in my credit card account as promised by
                              your customer care representative. On the other hand another three
                              transactions I have made on 25 & 26 th aug 2010 rupees 8998+598+2000

                              which I have got two reebok watches as free gifts. But when I
                              contacted with customer care they asked my IDs and when I replied they
                              said thet my IDs are not matching.They told me to collect
                              authorisation codes from my respective bank. I did the same and
                              replied agin but they answered me negatively that they dont have the
                              record of 2000 rupees payments. I am now totally confused. I am so
                              here attched my credit card payments details. I have contacted with
                              HDFC BANK CREDIT CARD section. they are ready to help me in this
                              regard because I have the proofs of all the payments.Even your
                              representatives are telling my mobile numbers incorrectly.

Their only intention is to kill time with all types of bogus excuses. First of all they said that courier agency didn't find out the address. But I used to get courier product at that address with out any hassle.

                                  I got email and repeated phone calls regarding Gold/diamond vouchers (from Surat Diamond) worth 2 Lac which I got in a lucky draw and should buy some products for 19000 rs. I bought the items on July 23rd and got them delivered by August 1st week but the gold/diamond vouchers is not yet sent.

                                  First of all, I was disappointed with the products that were shipped. When ordering the baggittoday executives were not ready to tell which model of the camera/home theatre that was being sent.. they were in just hurry of getting the order done. Once the products reached us we found that market price of the Camera is around 4000 rs where they gave it to us for Rs. 10698 with 1 GB IPOD (may be worth Rs.2500)... which is itself very dejecting experience from someone so well known as from India Today who claim to unearth truths about cheating/corruption.

                                  On repeated phone calls to their Delhi Customer care number which is STD for me and they dont take the call for long time :-( ... every time they say it will come in next week, even email complaints did not work they responded only for the first time. Then next time onwards there is no response. I am tired and completely dejected of the cheating that reputed organization Like India Today is doing to consumers.

                                  19,000 rs is not a small amount for a normal middle class person, by giving attraction of gold coupons I spent all my savings so that I can buy some ornaments for my mother who has been yearning for since many years. If it makes any sense or moves you, please send these coupons and take action on executives misguiding and derogating .With hope to see some response from you.

                                  According to the India Today Book Club Gold Box offer, I was selected for a benefit of Rs.55000 and was called again n again, until, I placed an order.

                                  Even after 3-4 days, I haven't received that voucher. Later, I came to know that its a type of Scam and I'm a victim of it. Earlier, I was told that I would be receiving Gold Voucher of 1 single amount and I could redeem it on a specific jewelery outlet. But, now I'm told that I would only receive a package of vouchers that can only be redeemed online and not offline.

                                  I'm not interested to in that stupid Surat Diamond jewelery voucher where I have to spend minimum 8-10k rupees for redeeming a Rs.5k coupon. I've already asked you this question first on phone and now, you've cheated me. So, I want a refund against the above mentioned order/booking ids as soon as possible. Else, I'll send you a court notice within the next 30 days.

                                    My India Today - English magazine subscription for 10 years was under the “Millennium Money-Back Offer” as per the terms of which I am to receive Rs. 2500/- from India Today on completion of the subscription period. The subsciprtion got over on 28-June-2010

                                    The original “Money Back Certificate” bearing Sl. No. 1169 dated[protected] has already been submitted in person at their Kolkata Office. The receipt of the same has been confirmed by their vide email dated 16th January 2008 sent by Ms. Latika – Customer Care Executive

                                    The 10 year subscription period expired on[protected]. When I asked them for a refund of the Rs. 2500/- they want me to send the orginal certifcate to them OR execute an indemnity bond

                                    Why should i send them an indeminity when they have received the original. The last email to their Customer Care Dept was sent by me on 19th August – since then I have not received reply.

                                      In spite of my paying the money( Rs 25798/-) as advised by you vide ID[protected], I have still not got the Gold gift box and the projector with Phillips Home theatre free I have ordered. Also I would like to mention that an extra payment of Rs 5980/- vide Id[protected] was made for the Gold gift box against which I have received 20 Reebok watches.I had never ordered the watches.I had again paid an amount of Rs 2298/- vide Id ref[protected] as I was advised to pay for closing the file.I have received Reebok Shoes against this payment. As per you mail I was supposed to get my Gold gift box within 12-15 working days. It is a month that I have made the payment and the product and the Gold gift box is still awaited.

                                      I would therefore wish to get back the money paid by me. Please arrange for the refund. I get a feeling that your company is cheating the customers.I have seen so many complaints in the site of Consumercomplaints.in. Many loyal customers of India Today have been cheated.                                         I had ordered for a Reebok watch on the bagittoday.com site, the charges of Rs 299 was promptly deducted from my credit card, however i ave not recieved delivery of the product. When i contacted the customer care, they mentioned that the delivery was returned, however this cannot be the case, as i was not intimated about this- no calls to my mobile number...
                                        After repeatedly following up, they have agreed to refund the amount, however it has already been more than a month and the authorites have not refunded the money.

                                        I too had placed an order with bagittoday.com recently. I had not received my parcel though bagittoday.com representatives claimed that the delivery had been returned. On following up it was found that the delivery had mistakenly been taken to my neighbour who had then returned it. After this was found out, bagittoday.com was very cooperative and re-dispatched the item. My experience with this site has always been very good.
                                        I fully agree with the problem faced by genuine lovers of India today Book Club. This type of aatitude is tarnishing the image totally.I am facing similar issue even after making payment of RS 33000/0 approx.I was tempted that I have won a gold gift box wrth 5 lakh rupees.

                                        I think the customers should take their grievances to TV news channels. Since India Today is also a media group originally, they feel that they are invincible. All the customers with similar grievances should collectively file a complaint to consumer protection bureaus and also spread the word in TV news with specific cases and evidences.
