Dear sir, I regret to inform you that the advertisement in Hitvada on Dated 23/10/09 for reebok kit advertised by the India today group, I received a consignment covered under booking order . no. 0GA[protected]. the parcal missing two item as reebok shoe and reebok towel Only i have received reebok bag , reebok classic watch, reebok track suit, the product they have send would be original I dont belive because the classic watch have fail to work.

So I would like to request to you to take a necessary action against India today book cluc and give me proper judge.

    I ordered for 3 items, 2 books [Creative Loving; Sex Games To Improve Your Married Life] and 1 CD [Best Of Rajan & Sajan Mishra (The) - A03077] price being 355/-, 895/- and 265/- respectively. I paid the postman Rs. 1066/- by yesterday on receipt of the VPP.

    Unfortunately on opening the untampered packet, I found the CD is missing. I have received only the 2 books.

    Please arrange to send me my CD urgently for which I have already paid. Please don't charge me additional postage for that.

    I hope you shall look into the matter with immediate effect. I couldn't reach you on your phone numbers after repeated efforts.

    i had placed order for three books in dec 07 and had paid through credit card. i am yet to receive the books. i was instead saddled with a vpp for 525 rs that i paid for mistaking it for the books. it contained three cds that were not intended to be bought inthefirst place.
    i sent three email and one letter by speed post. there has been no response till today. even today, only one aspect of the compalint has been addressed. the lady who took my call was incoherent and very rude.
    i hope i will be able to lay my hands on the books

    India Today Book Club — Non Delivery of product ordered

    I had placed an order online vide my order No TVTN-WEB-1128 dated 29 Dec 2007. The sales executives - Ms Pooja, Mr Gopal and Mr Animesh- have repeatedly assured me on telephone that the ordered item will be delivered within 14 working days. But the item has not been even shipped till date. Thus I am being denied of a product for which I have already paid and the company is wrongfully earning interest on my money for last one month without any indications of fulfilling their commitment of delivering the product. Kindly advise the course of action so that other customers are not fooled by such unethical practices.

    I suffer from the same episode. I paid on 7th December and have been sending repeated reminders to [protected]@indiatodaybookclub.com and many calls.

    No replies for the mails. Though it is reputed company, it has a pathetic service. How can they just ignore emails and phone calls.
    False assurances are given on calls. The persons taking the calls will not let you speak to a senior member of the organisation, saying that they do not have authority to do so or even divulge their phone/ mobile number, so you end up talking only to a bunch of people who are probably as ignorant about the status of order as I am as a customer.

    How can this happen in a reputed company that a customer cannot approach a decision maker regarding his complaint!

    India Today Book Club — Unfair Marketing and cheating

    Once I clicked on the spam mail from India today book club. I got interested in their offer of membership and free goodies. So I registered my self as a member of India Today Book club. Later Spam mails came repeatedly, but I never ordered any book from that club. One day a VPP parcel of Rs.550/- came to my home. I was not at home and my mother took the parcel by paying the amount.
    Later when I came I found three pirated English books which can easily found on the road side around Rs 35/. In the invoice my membership no. was ITBC07329336 and my invoice no. OR[protected], order no- OGO8123095 and it was invoice was dated 25-mar-2008.

    I am simply very annoyed by this behavior of flashy book club like this. I want my money back and want this club to stop cheating others like this.

    Here Post office staff have told me to give correct

    It is most unfortunate that despite repeated communications through e mails as well as by post the deep slumber of concerned personnel did not have any awakening. It has been observed that by putting Ad's of special attractive offers by way of baits they get the money and orders and then forget their responsibility towards customers. On e mail no proper reply is given but irresponsible and inadequate mentions are made every now and then. Kindly intervene in the matter and extend help by knocking at their end.

    India Today Book Club — Charged Twice for The SAME BOOKS SET, that too SENT WITHOUT ORDERING

    India Today Book Club - sent books by VPP (even though they were not ordered) and sent a mail saying if i dont want I can return the VPP Post, but my folks paid for it, since i m an NRI thinking that i have ordered them. After a month they sent the same booksbuddy packet with the same books by VPP and too money from my folks.

    I remember requesting for select books and CDs that I never received. Thinking that these were the books I ordered, I accepted the parcel that came in weeks lateron payment of Rs 550.

    Instead I received books that I never asked for. And none of the CDs that I had ordered! Did not expect this of a company like Living Media. Disappointing.

    I don't understand why India Today Book club sells ther books by sending these to people without their orders. First they did not send me books which I ordered for 5-6 weeks. Then they sent me 3 copies each of two books instead of 6 books that I ordered. Since then every 3-4 months they are sending me books worth Rs. 500-1000/- without my request or order for the same. Mostly, my office assistant pays to the postman and receives the parcel on my behalf. But now I have told her to send back the postman carrying parcel from India Today Book Club. But why do they have to sell books this way...??
    i too booked on 11.05.08. i only received three cds on 18.06.08. The adidas bag was not sent to me. Also, the membership no & web login number given for availing the holiday offer are not working. It is unecessary for us to go into all the details to ascertain whether it is cheating or not. As many have been cheated, it is better to lodge a complaint in the consumer court and leave the matter to the law to decide.

    I, a registered member of that club received a CD full of scratches(may be an used one) from them on an order which is not reading and not usable. I complained to them on-line with my membership no. and web-ID but no response received. It seems from the other complainants that the company is making people fool ! my CD was 'Nature' from Encyclopaedia Britannica. similar attractive offers are still received by from them through e-mail. it is unthinkable that a reputed publisher like 'India today' can do such mischiefs !

    i need an immediate step to be taken by you.

    I ordered some books online on 24/05/08 .payment was made through credit card.

    Firstly, books were delivered after 21 days after my 3-4 follow ups and mails at their response and [protected]@intoday id

    Secondly, no response to my mails from their side

    Thirdly, the two books I ordered are received damaged, one book starts from page no 13 and the other is torn .

    I would like to know that does giving a discount means damaged books.

    I feel very sorry to say that this is not expected fro INDIA today group at all.

    This was the first order I placed and the impression is so bad.

    This mail was written to india today group to prabhu chawla's and mr bagga's e mail id as well but no response from their side as well. i have tried their all land lines no but all in vain.
    i hopethrough consumer forum i will get justice and my books will be replaced asap, already all this process has killed good amount of time.

    India Today Book Club — damaged CD and non disclosure of charges

    i had ordered for 3 CD's online in response to a mailer received from india today book club. The 3 Encyclopedia CD's were for Rs. 499/- and along with it i was suposed to get an Adidas bag and a free holiday gift voucher from indian hotel review.com

    Firstly the CD's that i received were in a damaged condition and despite writing 5-6 emails there was no response from india today. this is the state of the so called reputed publishing house.

    Then while claiming the holiday voucher i am being told that in order to claim it i need to make a payment of rs. 800/- to india hotel review.com which was not at all toldd to me. This is complete harrasment to the consumer since i was not told about any of these charges.

    I wishthe others do not fall in the trap of such gimmicks from the company.

    You are not the only one suffering from this company. My free gift never arrived. more than 10 reminders but they are not replying. It is shocking from India Today sister concern.

    2. i have had enough of ITBC, and of the firm opinion that the service rendered by this organisation to a customer who pays, is a blot on the fair name of India Today.all that one needs to do to see the extent of inefficiency that is propogated in the name of India Today is to just google for 'INDIA TODAY BOOK CLUB COMPLAINTS', and the facts are there for anyone to see. even the names that i have mentioned below are reflected in the many complaints that are available for anyone in this organisation to see, should anyone be bothered about it.

    3. i refer to my innumerable conversations with people in this front office (pooja, yogita, rahul and finally your manager in the front office, animesh shukla, dominic savio).

    4. i do not wish for any thing else from ITBC. i only want my money refunded as per the details given below

Inthis officer, India Today Book Club provide "Free Diamond Jewellery Voucher worth Rs.5000/- plus Free Tupperware box worth Rs.330/- plus on purchase of Encylopedia Britenica Jumbo-pack (3 Multemedia CD), for Rs.499 + Delivery charges Rs.75/- and Order Total: Rs.574/-. Instead of this, postman take Rs.593/- yesterday from us. so, they have taken Rs.19/- more.
    Please arrange to remit me Rs.19/- by DD.
    I have also not received Voucher for Free Diamond Jewellary Voucher worth Rs.5000/- and Free tupperware box worth Rs.330/-. Pl arrange to send the voucher & tupperware box at the earliest.

    his is the last reminder I am putting to you as I am quite fedup ringing your call centre every 10 days.
    After more than a year of payment Istill am awaiting the delivery of books. a very sad state of affairs for a company of your repute.

    This is in reference to your free gift scheme which you people fail to fulfill. The staff receiving the phone calls is so irresponsible and fail to satisfy the customer.     Hi,

    This is regarding offer Extended by India Today Book Club that OrderBest Seller Pack worth of Rs 1180 at a special price of Rs 499
    and get FREE HOLIDAY worth Rs 5000 + ADIDAS SIPPER worth Rs 399 + Books Buddy membership worth Rs 300.

    I had placed the order. Payment mode was credit card.
    What I got is only books... and other things like "FREE HOLIDAY worth Rs 5000 + ADIDAS SIPPER worth Rs 399 + Books Buddy membership worth Rs 300" that were promised were not given.

    Since all items were suppsed to be delivered in a packet. After paying for packet to courier service. We found only books and not the other things that were promised in the order form.

    Please explain the reason why I didn't receive those three things along with that packet of books. And Please make arrangements to deliver other 3 things at the earliest.

    I have purchased the following title in one of my orders:

I complained to them on-line with my membership no. and web-ID but no response received. It seems from the other complainants that the company is making people fool ! my CD was 'Nature' from Encyclopaedia Britannica. similar attractive offers are still received by from them through e-mail. it is unthinkable that a reputed publisher like 'India today' can do such mischiefs !

Sales person told that amount will deducted in 3 EMI, when I confirm my order they has deducted full amount instead of EMI from my account. I has cancel order due to this fraud. Then after bookclub give me complaint number for refund of my payment that is RE08000485 on 6th of October and commit me that I will get refund within 45 days. when I called after 45 days, on 15th November, I got new commitment that it will take 60 days means till 6th of December I got my payment. When I called again on 28th November that is there my refund cheque ready to dispatch, they give me new commitment that refund process take 60 days more. Means I can get my refund now till February, 2009. That means this company give commitment n commitment. What should to be do, please anyone suggest me. I also have all recorded communications.

          Till 10th of March 2009 there was no conformation call from your company, just out of my curiosity when I persuaded about my product the fact came to my knowledge that the booking ID 8800558 given to me at the time of the booking was fake and there was no booking made in my name and there was no transaction of money against my booking.
          I called up to your offer department and talked to Ms shivani she told me it was customer care problem, then I called up your customer care service and talked to Mr. Mohsin and Mr. Praveen they gave me a complaint no. 400797 and 401008 respectively which again on pursuance proved to be fake as I didn’t have a valid booking Id so complaint no. was irrevelant. Regarding my problem I sent a mail on 11th March to [protected]@indiatodaybookclub.com to which I haven’t received a reply till date.
          Now after over a months time I received a call from your office regarding conformation of my order. Caller verified my mailing address and gave me my product booking ID[protected] when I asked him about the reason for a months delay and fake ID’s given to me previously the person hung up the phone without listening and replying to me. Again when I tried to check new booking ID given to me it also turned out to be fake.

            I placed an order on 3rd of July for Subscribing to this magazine Cosmopolitan my subscription number was this COS-WEB[protected] . The reason i subscribed was not that i get any discount or something but because my birthday falls on 12th of August and being a fashion follower I wanted to match the bag which comes as a free gist with the magazine. My birthday went and i bought something locally however even after following on mails and phonecalls all i get as a reply is we will get back to you in 5 days, 2 days your gift will be mailed to you in a week and its now close to a year...also i have not been getting my magazines on time.they have haphazard services and given me a lot of mental trauma....My customer ID is ID: 91618642 and now my subsciption is about to close.I am a subscriber of magazines like business world, time and others but the problem that i faced with cosmo i never faced anywhere...i wish something can be done now.

              India Today Book Club — I have been denied services against the money paid

              India Today Book Club had launched a scheme in terms of which one could stay for seven nights in good category hotels at a price of close to Rs 6,000. I have paid the entire amount approx 3 to 4 months back. Initially, I was not provided the relevant vouhcer code for long time, for which I had to follow-up several number of times. I was informed on various occasions that the Code would be sent by courier. However, finally the code was sent on an email (which is a very unsecure means of communication). Further, there were no details regarding date of issue / date of expiry / period of validity. No guidance was also available in the said communication regarding the instructions for using the code.

              Now, whenever I access the relevant website to check availability for hotels (since last 2-3 months), there is a unique message as follows:

              "Sorry we have been unable to match your request due to high demand. Please amend your search and widen the search criteria."

              Further, even if the period of June 2010 is put to check availability still it gives the same message. If the hotels are not to be made available during any part of the year, then why are the vouchers being sold out. Nobody from India Today Book Club and their counterpart BigCity is responding on my complaints and apparently it seems that I have lost my money.

              India Today Book Club — Refund still not Received

              Dear Sir,

              This payment of Rs.5498 was made on[protected] having Order No. BAGITTODAY/0GA[protected] for Nokia 3500 Classic Phone & Other Free Gift Vouchers and things. The same was cancelled voluntarily by their department without my concent or information for which I was informed on[protected], since then I have sent numerous e-mail for refund, which is still pending, even after 2 months of payment and more than 1 month after the cancellation.

              This kind of perthetic, unethical, un-professional and down the grade service was not at all expected from a company who is a part of a reputed news group i.e. INDIA TODAY GROUP.
              After 7 days of posting this online complaint ITBC has NOT refunded the money till date. It shows that either they have no time to solve their customer's problems or they are not interested in refunding the money. They have cheated so many people like me!
              Below is the email I got from ITBC days ago saying that my parcel was lost in transit in June'09 and they have forwarded my complaints to concerned department to do the needful.

              I ordered 2 philips ultre dvd with usb with 10 spea, 2 woofer, 2 watches, 2 jewelry voucher, 2 holiday packages, these items and they charged INR 15196 on 30th Nov 2009. after a month i got a message from BLUEDART couriers that your courier had been misplaced. From they on they keep on saying that they are sending a new asignment and it will reach in 15 days, but it has been along period i havn't got a thing.

              One the tele call from India today book club as per the scheme i booked an order for Rs 13998.00 on a commitment of cash prize of Rs 25000/- which I had won as they claimed and the money was credited by way of credit card. On reconfirming on 4/3/10 they denied any cash prize money to be paid and then i understood this was a fraud and i immediately complained to them regarding the telecallers misguidance. The complaint was lodged on 4/3/10 and the complaint no. was 394978. Subsequently they agreed on the refund of the amount on 17/3/10 and a refund process no. RE10001116 was provided to me and was assured that the refund will be made within 1 month. It is almost 5 months now but i have still not recieved the refund not they are answering my mails. Pl help me.

                I bought a track suit from India Today Book Club (online) and there was a scheme where they were giving"Holiday Voucher" alongwith the order.

                firstly, there were lot of issue in claiming the gift online due to technical fault of 'India Today" and even after 2 months and several mails there is no solution to this. I have been writing mails and calling them on[protected] time and again but no solution till date. I have written many mails mentioning that the voucher no mentioned to claim the gift is wrong but surprising there is no response. A company like India Today has such a worse service, never expected.                     I have received a holiday voucher from India Today Book Club.
                    However, when I try to activate the voucher number by registering it on www.bigcity.in/indiatoday/holiday; the number of characters in the voucher numbers is more than the length of the field in which I am required to enter the same (i.e the last two digits of the voucher number cannot be entered into the field in your site); because of which the activation fails. I am not sure such a stupid error can happen out of oversight or due to the so called “technical snag”

                    I have tried to call on your number #[protected]; wherein my call was put on hold for close to half an hour!!!!

                    Are guys are deliberately trying to put-off the customer’s by putting in so many obstacles in the way so that they simply get fed up & give up trying to claim their gift? Or are you trying to recover the cost of free gifts through incoming STD calls by deliberately holding the callers for long hours? Either way, this seems to be a fraudulent racket that you guys are running by promising the customers free gifts that never arrive in order to entice them to buy overpriced & sub-standard products that are not being sold otherwise.

                    I have written around 6 mails to [protected]@indiatodaybookclub.com; and the only response that I get is to wait for some more time. On calling at the customer helpdesk, the executive there had no clue about what the problem was and when it shall be corrected.

                    When I insisted to speak to the team leader / senior; I was told that he is busy and does not have time to speak to me over such a small matter and my call was put on hold for 30 minutes

                    Please do not give wrong and misleading statements that my complain has been resolved. You have only provided me a new voucher number. That is not the same thing as what you promised to deliver i.e a free holiday package.

                    With the complete lack of character that ITBC has shown so far, I am very much sure that there will continue to be obstacles in each & every step in actually redeeming the voucher.

                    I am certain that this is very much planned & organized racket. Only those customers who go all the way to filing a consumer complaint at each step will get the free gift. That will be, maybe one in a thousand customer and all the other 999 customers will just get fed-up and give up. That is what your business plan seems to be.

                    Well, ITBC...you are in for a surprise. I fully intend to go all the way till I actually receive the free gift. I will not withdraw my complain and will continue to file complain with consumer forum at each step till I finally get my right.

                      India Today Book Club — Order not received after payment made

                      I have ordered and paid a sum of Rs.2150/- paid through my ICICI credit card number on 21st Feb 2009. I was told that the said product (id : [protected] ) will arrive within the next 5 working days. Till now i am yet to receive the said parcel.
                      I tried the contact number given to me i.e.[protected] a number of times, but couldn't never get through the line and nobody ever pick it up other than the tune being played.

                      I am yet to receive any response from the said leading publisher of India, a really sad thing.

                      India Today Book Club — Not dispatched my order in spite of full payment

                      I placed an order on 25 march for Reebok kit and order ID is MITBC-WEB[protected]. And made a credit card payment for an amount of Rs 3198. I was told that it will take 3-4
                      weeks for processing of an order. The order was dispatched on 16 march. But when I received parcel it was totally in a damage condition, so i was told not to take delivery but to return it back so we can send another parcel.
                      I am very sorry to say that I have not received any parcel yet. After every 10 days I am being told that you will receive the same this week.

                      Its more than two months when I placed an order. Now they are not sending my order and also not returning my money back. I am being told that the parcel is yet to receive by them.

                      India Today Book Club — Payment made two months back but Order not received

                      I have given an order to ITBC on 16th March 2009, order ID-MITBC-WEB[protected] order num- Internet/OGA[protected] for which i have got a confirmation also from ITBC on 18th March and i was asked to wait for 3-4 weeks, then i called them on 19th April-09 and was asked to wait for a week, then called on 23 Apr, 29 Apr, 13 May, 15 May, 18 May, 22May and 24th May.Every time i called i was asked to wait for 2-3 days or week but till date i havnt recieved my order, i have also spoken to two superwisers there Mr Azim & Mr Jitendra and they have promised to call on my cell to give despatch details but unfortunately they couldn't.
                      What is more surprising is that now i have been issued another order num-MITBC-WEB[protected] under the same order id, giving reason that previous order was misplaced by Blue Dart Courier Co.and when i asked them to provide shipment/Docket num of parcel misplaced they said they are unable to give it

                      Now apart from getting my order i have two other complaints regarding them
                      1-Inspite of so many complaints what action senoirs have taken in my matter and

                      India Today Book Club & Blue Dart — Payment Made, shipment not received

                      I have made a payment of Rs. 5748 towards India Today Book Club for Kodak Camera on 28th September, 2009. The order number is 0GB90001713. This is dispatched to Hyderabad on 9th Oct 2009 through BD-P-NOIDA/[protected]. However, Blue Dart people did not deliver the order to me. They have not contacted me at all and sent the shipment back to Noida (India Today).

                      I have contacted India Today Book Club complaining about the non-delivery of the order. The reference number given for the call is 224217. The person mentioned that I would be receiving the order in 10 business days. Till now, there is no information on the shipment information.

                      I am very much fed up with this as they are making the customer wait for more than a month to receive the order.

                      When I try to contact the customer care number at[protected] no one lifts the telephone and the customers are kept waiting for long time. To wait for more than 15 minutes on a national call is too much and yes, I am unhappy to say that India Today Book Club does not care about their customers and their problems.

                      Request anyone here to please help me out.

                      India Today Book Club — Order Not Delivered for the Payment Taken

                      Eighteen months back I had given an order for 16 CD SAZZ Series Pack from India Today Book Club and paid the amount of Rs.2000.00 through my SBI Credit Card. I have send numerous request letters, phone calls and emails to India Today Book Club office, still I haven't recieved the product which they promised to delivery within next 7days everytime i contact them.

                      Also my order for Philips Home Theater System and a Sony Digital Camera for which a total of 21214.00 Rs was taken from my SBI Credit Card. I Only got half the delivery costing an amount of 7598.31 Rs. That too after numerous requests.

                      In this website now I have seen hundreds for complaints against India Today Book Club company. Is there no case or legal action being taken against such fradulent practices made by this company? The customer service is very poor and their website never even work.

                      I really thought India Today was a geniune company until now. Somebody please let me know how to get my money back or atleast the complete goods/products I ordered from them? Please

                        This is with reference to call received from India Today Book Club on 29th March, 2010, I wish to inform you that during call, It was informed me that I have won the Lucky draw, in which I will get Rs. 40,000/- Cash Prize. But for cash prize I need to purchase any one product from your company, which will enable on activation of My order ID and After activation, I will get DD of Rs. 40,000/- within 10 to 12 days.
                        So I decided to purchase Aptek Cam Corder from company, for which I made Credit Card Payment of Rs. 7498/- through IVR. On Receipt of Consignment when I called customer care no[protected] at 3.10 PM on 05th April, 2010, "Mr. Pavan Kumar", told me that It was a mis-commitment (Customer Care person knows that it was committed). So I asked "Mr. Pavan Kumar" to hand over phone to senior person, He rudely gave the answer that "They (Seniors) gone for lunch and call after 2 Hours".
                        Earlier I also received another call from another person, he was introducing himself as "Mr. Bright Selvyn, Senior HOD, Selection Committee" on 30th March, 2010 at around 10.55 am, asking me give one more order, since I have won prize of Cash Rs. 500,000/-. But Thank God I had not gave him order, saved around Rs. 35000/-.
                        Kindly help me in knocking down this scam being played by India Today Book Club.
                        Phone number through which I got call was[protected] and[protected], which is I guess a Delhi numbers. Whenever I try calling back this number it says- “number not in use” for[protected] and nobody picking up call from[protected].

                        India Today Book Club — Fraudulent service

                        I had purchased Reebok fitness kit worth Rs 2999, plus an additional transaction charge of Rs 200, which was made using my HDFC credit card.



                        The transaction ID for this was [protected]



                        I was told that i would get the package on the 21st day starting then. Despite this assurance i was checking regularly on the status of my order, and I was completely misinformed all throughout that my package was on the way and would be delivered soon.



                        On the 22nd day i called up and spoke to Mr Dipendra only to find out that my order was cancelled by someone, BUT THE PAYMENT WAS MADE CORRECTLY. At this point may i ask a question- How is it possible that a package despatched already gets cancelled midway?? I simply fail to understand how it is possible for someone to cancel my order without any intimitation let alone permission from me!



                        Mr. Dipendra told me that had punched me a new order and that this was an unusually rare mistake and that he would make sure that the package would be delivered with 7 days.



                        I called up today again just to make sure that everything was fine and was informed by Ms. Sushma that it stands cancelled still, and i still have not got any refund. I expect that every organization at least takes the matter of REFUND of payment seriously even if the promised services are never met. This is by far, the worst example o[censored]tter disregard towards customer committment.



                        I am completely disappointed becuase i was under the impression that India Today is a credible organization.

                        India Today Book Club — Not received the things

                        I had paid Rs.5000 as part of one offer with 7 DVDs of Agatha Christie in nov 2008. I havent received any intimation on this till date except the Booking ID over phone. When I checked with the customer care, this was delivered to an address in Mumbai.

                        Suggestions on how to sue or get money back from these daylight big robbers.

                        I am Vikash Agarwal and have made an order on the 17th of march, and the amount had been deducted from my account then and there. But, the next day i received a call and was told that the amount would not be transferred due to some technical error and was made to enter the credit card details via a telephonic transfer gateway.
                        Now, this company has charged me twice and the customer care services are misbehaving and becoming aggressive. They do not respond to the mails and calls.
                        It is an absolut case of online fraud and it makes me beleive that this is how the company makes money. They fool the innocent customers. Something must be done to bring down this practice as it is not expected from a comapny with such a high repute. The consumer court seems the only option leftout. Lets unite and work against this practices. Please feel free to contact me.

                        India Today Book Club — not getting offer

                        i have buy 4 book set of books for rs1000. i was told that i will get 2 days and 1 night holiday tour package free. but i didnt get it yet and they are not providing me the necessary information.if they realy dont want to cheat people they do repli this complaint.
                        I (membership no. ITBC097558) had ordered for a set of four books, which I received through Invoice no. ORA[protected], Order No. OGA[protected], dated 31st July 2009. However, I did not receive the free Reebok Watch, which was promised in emails and SMS. I complained about it through email. Initially they said that I have to enter the unique code and email id at another site. But that unique code never existed in the bill that I received. Despite sending 4-5 emails they did not send me the unique code. After replying a couple of times, they did not have even courtesy to reply and apprise me the latest developments. Yesterday I talked to them over phone got the unique code. But that site was not working yesterday. After I called them about this, they asked me to redo this after few hours. But still it does not work. I have spent more than Rs. 200 over phone for talking to them and sent about 8-10 emails. But I cannot imagine why a company like India Today can fall to such a level to cheat the people. I shall advise all the people to refrain from such buying for free gifts. Probably by cheating certain percent of people they are making up for such free gifts.

                        I got a mail from india today book club regarding the offer (on Kodak 10.3 MP Digital Camera @ Rs 4999 ) on June 23rd and I am replying to the same mail . I tried to purchase this product online but I didnt purchased it as I will be shifting to hyderabad with in few days from bangalore.But some guy named Srikanth from Indiatoday called me on the same day told me that I can purchase this and I can recieve this product before July 5th in bangalore as I am shifting to Hyderabad on July 5th evening.

                        I purchased the camera on June 23rd using my ICICI credit card through phone banking from india today.

                        But I didnt recieved this product by July 5th and I moved to Hyderabad.on July 10th when I called indiatoday people from indiatoday told me that the product went to bangalore address and they will redispatch it once they get back.But when I called on July 18th people told me that India today recieved that on Jul17th nd they will dispatch it and I can recive it by July 26th.

                        I called so many times (which cost me 220 rupees) to india today after that and everytime I am recieving the same kind of respinse like due to technical error it was not updated in the system and I will surely recieve it with in 10n days.And now today it is August 26th and I still didnt recieved that and some guy from indiatoday is saying that my product was not at all there in the stock as india today sent it to some one else.

                        Now This is totally fraud.I made the payment on June 23rd using my credit card and I started paying EMI also (which costs me some 600 rupees additionally) but still I didnt recieved the product.I have so many complaints regarding this and so many high level managers confirmed that I can recieve it by August 15ht at last .But still I didnt recieve.

                        I bought a pair of flotter and Reebok shoes from them for Rs 2599 the strap of flotter broke within 15 days i returned it to them but till date got no response from them.

                        I bought an holiday offer of Rs 5943 with a free stay of 1 week in resorts of RCI (resort-store.com) when i made online booking the RCI charged me Rs 16898.00 so the pacakage costs me about Rs 23000 if this is the way company deals i am sorry to say it is 100 percent fraud.
                        My advice to all consumers is plz do not fall prey to offers of ITBC else it will cost you too much.

                        After waiting for a month, i called up india today customer care and found out that the ordered product was out of stock and they suggested to write a mail for refund. i wrote a mail to [protected]@indiatodaybookclub.com and [protected]@indiatodaybookclub.com for my money refund.

                        I never thought that online shopping will consist so much of fraud, i have atleast made a 200 calls to indiatoday customer care and the response is always same that i will get the refund with in 20 days. two months back i spoke to some one by name Ravi and he assured that he will look into the matter and i received a mail with new reference no: RE09001658. But the same old responses "you will get it in 20 days".

                        Kindly help me in this regard...
                        I have very less or no hopes of getting back my money but still i thought its my duty to bring the awarness to other people.

                        My sincere appeal to government and public is not to entertain such companies who loot people like this in open market.

                        I have even seen FULL PAGE advertisements in news papers selling this fitness kit.

                        India Today Book Club — Not received the promised product

                        Hello Sir, this is a complaint against the organization 'India Today Book Club'. This company lures the customers by promising free gifts but in reality they never send any gift.

                        I ordered a CD pack that had a free reebok bag associated with it. I ordered this in Nov 09 and received the CD in Dec 09. But I did not received any bag. I called customer care[protected] in Dec, Jan, Feb and March but they would always tell me that the bag was out of stock and that i will have to wait 15-21days before they dispatch it. Its been 4 months and they are still saying the same thing.

                        I believe this is absolute fraud and want you to take action against this company. Please register my complaint.

                        India Today Book Club — Fraudulent Offer by India Today

                        I had shopped once through India Today Book Club for a set of Reebok Sun Glasses which my family liked a lot and it was a satisfactory service also.
                        I received a phone call on evening of 30th March at around 7:30pm announcing a deal for a blackberry Bold 9000 along with Apple Mac book Pro (Laptop)+ Holiday voucher and a Reebok Sunglass for a total price Rs 29,999. The offer seemed attractive to me and I accepted. The person then asked me to use my credit card for making transaction on phone using software interface. Transaction got successful and my account got debited Rs 29,999. He also knew my previous order details placed with India Today which added to my trust on them but there was no confirmation from him like email; phone etc. He gave me a Booking ID- 4400692. He promised me to deliver the order within 4-5 days but did not give any confirmation of order in writing.
                        Meanwhile, I have blocked my credit card as a precautionary step. The amount had got debited from the Credit card against name which India Today keeps- “Living Media India Ltd”.
                        When I called up the India Today Book Club customer care, they told me that the Booking ID number given to me on phone was not valid and there is no such offer on any product. He called me today on 01.04.10 again at 12:04 in noon offering me another product with more attractive schemes. I told him that I will discuss with my wife and let him know. He gave me an alternative number of some Mr. Alex George- [protected]. He is trying to convince me again and again to buy another product of similar cost from him. He called me in the evening again for 3 times between 6:35 pm and 7:30pm but I did not pick up the phone this time.
                        Today 07.04.10, it’s the 8th day and I have still not received any gift till now.
                        I was going through consumer complaints on the internet and found that it is a big fraud which India Today is running. The mobile number given to me is not a valid number and I found several different names on the consumer complaints bearing same mobile number. Like- Mr Vinod, Mr Vimal Kumar, Mr Ravi Kant etc. Similarly, to me he gave the number of Mr Alex George. There are around 100 complaints against India Today Book Club for same kinds of frauds.
                        Kindly help me in knocking down this scam being played by India Today Book Club.
                        Phone number through which I got call was- [protected] which is I guess a Noida number (Reliance). Whenever I try calling back this number it says- “number not in use”.

                        This is with reference to call received from India Today Book Club on 29th March, 2010, I wish to inform you that during call, It was informed me that I have won the Lucky draw, in which I will get Rs. 40,000/- Cash Prize. But for cash prize I need to purchase any one product from your company, which will enable on activation of My order ID and After activation, I will get DD of Rs. 40,000/- within 10 to 12 days.
                        So I decided to purchase Aptek Cam Corder from company, for which I made Credit Card Payment of Rs. 7498/- through IVR. On Receipt of Consignment when I called customer care no [protected] at 3.10 PM on 05th April, 2010, "Mr. Pavan Kumar", told me that It was a mis-commitment (Customer Care person knows that it was committed). So I asked "Mr. Pavan Kumar" to hand over phone to senior person, He rudely gave the answer that "They (Seniors) gone for lunch and call after 2 Hours".
                        Earlier I also received another call from another person, he was introducing himself as "Mr. Bright Selvyn, Senior HOD, Selection Committee" on 30th March, 2010 at around 10.55 am, asking me give one more order, since I have won prize of Cash Rs. 500,000/-. But Thank God I had not gave him order, saved around Rs. 35000/-.
                        Kindly help me in knocking down this scam being played by India Today Book Club.

                        I agree with the above complaint. I have purchased 2 products from this organisation and I was promised a holiday worth Rs.5000/- with each of the product. The invoice gives teh code for calimimng the offer but even 4 months after purchase of produsts, yet the codes have not been activated.                         On 9th nov-09 I have got a call from India Today book club...by no.[protected]...
                        for a holydays package...& they are offering one dvd player at cost of this offer free...total cost of package was-3498/-rs
                        after some formilities...i was ready to purchage this offer...& they booked this offer by my credit card.
                        order no.-0GA[protected]
                        after bokking of this offer they was forget me...daily i was spend more than 160/-rs on phone calls...

                        i was received dvd player(defected)...on dec month...

                        after struggling...i was received

                        My membership no. ITBC16968. & (holyday company name & address-big citi promotion)...
                        they sent me a form/boucher...
                        after filling this form/boucher...they demand me...899/-rs more for tax...

                        I had sent my all doc(along with big citi boucher, 899/-rs(DD NO. 287893-sbi-new delhi) dimand draft, pan card photo copy, bill photo copy & 1 photo graph)through ordinary post on dated 4 Mar. 2010 but it was return back.



                        After getting my doc I had called to your customer care[protected]with Ms. Sapna, Monica & Nalni, he had told me that you can sent it through courier.



                        After confirming from their end I had sent this doc through overnite express courier (consignment no. is[protected]on dated 18th Mar 2010 & it was received by their security gaurd Mr. Narenda Babu (mob no. [protected]) on dated 19th Mar 2010.


                        Daily I am calling/trying their no. but still I am not getting any responce from their end.

                        I have been spent more than 84000/- Rs on phone calls, bad material/courier/mail/net etc.

                        India Today Book Club — Refund Committed not Recd

                        I have ordered Philips DVD Player with screen, agaisnt order Number[protected] Dated 7th April, After long followup of 2-3 Months Ordered Item not received. then they told me that they will refund the amount in my Crdit Card account, Long follows up goes, After the long followup the order was cancelled on 6th Sept & commited that refund will be processed in 15 Wdays, But Now Today is 5th Oct, Still Credit Not Recived, I Need the the Ordered Amount 7498 + 5% Monthky Charged by Credit Card Company on the same amount 450/- Per Month = . Total 6 Months amount is 2700/- + (amount GiveN)7498 + Plus Harresment Charges
                        Nothing will happen... I made complaint two years ago, but nothing happend yet...

                          I had ordered a Reebok Track Suit(Large) through a promotional offer from BAGITTODAY.While ordering I was promised 3 free gifts which are 1.Reebok Watch.2.Holiday Coupon.3.Diamond Gift Voucher.I have got the delivery of the track suite but of the free gifts except for the diamond gift voucher there seems to be no news of the other 2 gifts.I have been trying to get an update from their call centre to get vairied responses.1st response was I will get the gift.2nd says since it is my 2nd purchase iam not entitled for a watch which itself is totally wrong.This is my 1st purchase only.Latest response says I need to key in the unique promotion number printed on the invoice.Well there was nothing like that which made me to call them again.They gave me a unique promotion number and a site www.bookstoday.in/promos.htm and asked me to key in this number in the site given.This too wouldnt work as the error would be incorrect entry.Upon calling them I now get a response that the unique promotion number is not activated and that it will be done in 24-48 hrs.

                          After so much of followup I had decided to appeal to consumer forum.My question is when they cant be fair in their dealings why do they promote such offers.

                          If I have duly paid for the purchase isnt it their responsibility to ensure the free gifts promised are also delivered.

                          Request concerned authorities to take necessary action and see that I get the proper justice.I have attached their order confirmation mail and also the details of free gifts promised pre order

                          I have been using the services of bagittoday.com for some time and although I have had some problems with a few deliveries, I’ve found that these mistakes do get corrected eventually. You can take number o[censored]nique promotions and talk to them directly.Afterall they are giving the services.

                            in response to a promotional scheme offered by india today book club vide my membership no. ITBC00084407 to me for the book complete history of the world alongwith free air ticket and other gifts i responded as usual and paid through my credit card rupees 2100.00 approximately in last september,besides this they owe me a balance amount of rupees 200.00 approx. from the pending book namely bathrooms.
                            neither they send my the ordered products till date nor they are refunding back my amount despite a series of protected correspondence from me and a series of assurances from them has taken place till date.
                            even they changed their web site from indiatodaybookclub.com to bagittoday.com
                            it is astonished that how a big publication group like indiatoday group is now cheating just like in the manner of the naubharat times group of bhopal has done previously in teakuity style.
                            i request the top executives of the indiatoday group to please look into the matter and redress my grievances at earliest as i am the reader of the esteemed magazine indiatoday english right from launching of its publication,thanks

                              I received a call from your telesales department on 8th or 9th of February 2010 with the following particulars -
                              1) Offer to be a part of a lucky draw worth Rs. 8 Lakhs
                              2) To buy one of 4 products (each communicated to be around Rs. 30,000 and available to me at a price range of 7,000 to 9,000
                              3) Reebok watch as gift along with the order
                              4) Gift vouchers to purchase jewellery worth Rs. 25,000 from www.bookclub.suratdiamond.com.

                              I purchased a Phillips Home Theater System worth Rs. 7,598. I was told that it would be shipped to me within 5 working days. I was also given two gift voucher codes - IB[protected], IB[protected]
                              On trying to purchase jewellery through the website, the discount offered on a single gift voucher was only Rs. 5000! Which means that two gift vouchers add up to only Rs. 10,000 and not Rs. 25,000 as was promised.
                              Contacting the customer care, I was told that there are no gift vouchers of Rs. 10,000 or Rs. 15,000. There was gross misleading if this is true.
                              Secondly, I was told that the shipment would take at least 14 working days. This is another mis-statement as I was told the shipment takes 5 days.
                              Can someone please intervene to
                              (a) Get me the gift vouchers with the correct amount as promised?
                              (b) Ensure that wrong commitments are not given by your telesales personnel.
                              (c) I was also told that a holday voucher which was not honoured earlier would be re-activated. Can I get a confirmation on this?

                              Dear Sir,
                              On[protected] I got a call from India Today Book Club, the caller name is Mr Sarat. He told me that I got selected for Rs1 lakh diamond Diwali Bonanza Offer. In this offer I can purchase up to 1 lakh of Diamond jewellery from Surat Diamond. I will get 20 number vouchers of Rs5000 each. For that i have to pay Rs 14996 and Rs299 handling charges and they will give me a 22 items (Swatch Watch-2 Nos, MTV Roadies Sunglasses- 2 Nos, Reebok wallet+key chain - 2 Nos, Books of three title – 2 nos each, MTV T-Shirt- 2 Nos, Reebook Track Suit- 2 Nos, Reebok Shorts- 2 Nos, Reebok LITE Speed Shoes - 2 Nos, Reebok VB Thong Slipper- 2 Nos), two holiday voucher free. I have made the payment after a through inquiry to their correspondence. Their correspondence Mr Sarat and his senior clearly told me that I can club those 20 vouchers and can made a single purchased o[censored]pto 1 lakh from Surat Diamond. They also told me that i am among those few lucky persons in India who get the offer of clubbing the vouchers and if i am still not satisfy then i can return my gift and they will return my money. After much hesitation I make the payment seeing justthe name of India Today. The persons Mr sarat also give me a security code which will enable me to clubbed he voucher. I am very confused now
                              I have received the material, though some material are not of my size given to them, Now when the time of vouchers is came they are now telling me that I cannot clubbed the vouchers. I had still to get the voucher. As i enquiry about it they are telling i can not get it clubbed and the person make me another offer of giving me physical diamond for that i have to again pay Rs15000 or so. I think it is a clear case of cheating and misleading the public.
                              I had great respect in ur group and i am a regular reader o[censored]r so many books. i am also a subscriber of reader digest. If this will happen with me then i will lost completer faith in ur group.

                              Earlier when i conatcted their customer care and told them that i am being cheated by them twice they gave me a sucking reply that why u r got cheated second time. This means they r there to cheat the public

                              What i concern is how many people like me has been cheated by your tele seller personal. A most reputed group like India today cheating people , its sound very sad. I am a regular reader o[censored]r magazine and books specially reader digest, but now i feel cheated and feel very low.

                              I thnk it is now high time and this group's this frud and cheating to general public shoul be highlighted in media.

                                Philips DVD Player — Not Delivered

                                I am working in CTS, Coimbatore. I redemed a Philips DVD player using my Wah points in CTS. after 5 days(MAR 31 2010) I got a call from my office security. He informed that one DVD player courier came for your name with the address of our (CTS) office another location. I asked him to get that DVD player and i will come and collect. But as per our company policy DVD players are not allowed to bring inside of the campus.

                                Then i asked the security to collect the courior boy cell no or my parcel rference number. But the courier boy didn't give any details after asking the details )I am in the phone call with the security) and went. I did try to get the customer care number and office number in Coimbatore. I got 2 numbers as office number and customer care number[protected] and[protected] I made call to these numbers.
                                One number is switch off and another one was rang up for a long time. I did try more no of times. They picked up the calls but suddenly cut the calls. Still (07 April 2010) I didn't get my DVD Player. I am planned to go my native with this DVD Player. But I dont have any contact numbers to reach them in Coimbatore. :(

                                this cannot be termed as a complaint in the first place...though it was query i had which had to resolved..the star cj no.[protected] was not able to help me out....actually it was regarding an ad which i havev viewed more than couple of times... the philips 5.1 home theatre with dvd player connected usb was available earlier with you guys...but now cannot view the dvd player in that ad and evn ur helpline guys said there was no offer alongwith a dvd player...which is quite astonishing.....could anyone from star cj explain what's the matter.....
                                by the way earlier brought product from you guys...service was good. .tatz why called up again when planned to purchase it...but the answer was quite unsatisfactory.............regards.....

                                  They are running more that Rs.10Lacs Contest and for the same they and their sales persons call you and tell you that you are guaranteed winner of Rs.10,000 or Rs.30,000 or Rs.2Lac + price! And to confirm and get your price you required to purchase a product from them.

                                  They call you many time + after purchase the next day other person from their sales team again call you and give you more (higher) amount of winning confirmation and again tell you to purchase new product!

                                  They tell that you get your winning price on 31st Mar.2010 by Check OR DD.

                                  I also received this type of phone call. First their sales team member Mr.Asim tell me that I am in Top 10 Winner List and I guaranteed get Rs.10,000 Price if I place order. After 2-3 times his confirmation I place a Order for Samsung Omni Pro B730 Mobile. He confirm me that I get winning price confirmation within 15-20min of my purchase payment. I paid using ICICI Bank Credit Card.

                                  But I not get any winning price confirmation on same day!

                                  Again their sales team member Miss.Lila call me on next day and tell me that I am now selected for Rs.30,000 guaranteed price! And now I am Top 5 list. She also confirm me that I get this change because One day back I placed a order for mobile. I tell her that I required winning confirmation details and she give me assurance that I defiantly get winning details within 20min of my new order payment. So, again I place a new order for Philips Home Theatre system.

                                  But I not get any email in 12-24hrs! And again on next day their team member call me that I am now winner of Rs.2Lac+ price!!! So, first I tell him to confirm my Rs.30,000 price by email. But he said that they have no user rights to send email!                                   I get reply after 2 days from Sonia that "We apologize for the inconvenience caused to you. With reference to your mail, we would like to inform you that we are not providing any cash prize along with the order." !!!

                                  So, I send email and tell them that I also recorded all this three phone calls and I have recording of this all 3 phone calls. If I not get confirmation within next 48hrs than I am going to file a consumar case against their company.

                                  After this step they start calling me on my cell and tell me that its not possible to confirm winning amount by email! But I get Rs.10,000 guaranteed price! So, I tell them that I req. Rs.30,000 and also required price confirmation by email.

                                  After thsi their team head call me and tell me that they are sorry for all this and they are going to take step against their sales team member. But this is not true that I get price! Its a competition and I just get entry by placing order!

                                  Means this all is a BIG cheating!

                                  So, I tell them that I am not at-all interested in product. And I want refund.

                                  Still they send me a Phillips home theater ! But I not accepted it and return it.

                                  They still not refunded my amount to credit card. But my credit card provider "ICICI Bank" team confirm me that if I not get refund that they process my charge back.

                                  It's my luck that I paid using Credit Card PLUS I recorded their phone call! Otherwise nothing !

                                  It's better to purchase from local shop instead of this types of cheating sites. They are running BagItToday site with same types of offers. But if you search google you get many scam case against them!

                                  This both site are from IndiaToday Group of people but both are BIG Fraud site. I don't understand why this type of Big Group done this Fraud with Indian People!

                                  Their sales team members are very smart. On selling time they offer you many offers or contest winning or prices with your purchase. But after purchase NO ONE ans you! Even their support team reply and tell you that their own sales team member given you wrong details! This is only if you send them many emails OR call them many times. Otherwise nothing!

                                  You loose your money + valuable time + Did not get product or get wrong product + Not get gift or price as per their offer!

                                  So, be careful and DO NOT PLACE any order...

                                    I have purchased a samsung star mobile phone set vide their Invoice No.ORA[protected] dt.17.3.10 for Rs.12498 (Rs.twelve thousand four hundred ninety eight only. Being a member of the club having my membership No.ITBC09112312 I was offered a promositional scheme vide which India Today Club representative Mr.Hamit Kumar and their Sr.Manager RN Singh informed that I will get samsung mobile phone set and for purchasing this et I will get a vourcher of jewellery worth Rs.10000/- He also informed me that I will be given extra jewellery voucher worth Rs.7000/- in lieu of holiday package which I refused to get as I have shown my inability to avail the same. Now I am being informed that only jewellery voucher of Rs.5000/- is only given by the club and not Rs.10000/- as offered y their rep.Mr.Hamit Singh. Their rep.has made a wrong promise and have committed a fraud of 420 with me. A conversation was recorded of all the conversation that took place between me and the rep.of Indiatoday Club, from which it cna be clearly established the promise made by their rep. Now I am not feeing given cooperation in claiming the free jewellery voucher of Rs.5000/- Kindly me to get justice from the company, so that they are stopped from doing such frauds in future.

                                    India Today Book Club — FRAUD COMPANY FALSE COMMITTMENTS

                                    I received on message from india today book club that i[censored] make a purchase of Rs.2589/- for a set of books you receive free gifts Rs. 5000/- value holiday voucher and Rs. 7000/- value AIR TICKET ROUND TRIP VOUCHER.In the terms and conditions there was no where mentioned it will be return air ticket now they have included.At that time when i had called this people they said its to and fro because round trip air ticket means to and fro now they have cheated me and i want all of you who gets this message please dont trust the name, they are frauds.
                                    its a completely fraud company we have to sue them in court

                                    India Today Book Club — Refuse to accept the courier and replacement

                                    I have received a free gift offer from India Today book club. As per the offer I placed the order (order no M-COMMERCE/0GA[protected] Order Date is 14-NOV-09) and paid Rs. 629 against handling charges. I placed the order for Benetton Sunglass. However, the company has sent a watch on 4/12/2009.

                                    I immediately sent a mail to the company in this regard. They asked me to send the parcel back for replacement. After their confirmation, I have sent the parcel back by courier To PAY basis. Courier delivery was attempted on 19/12/2009. The company refused to accept the courier and denied replacement.

                                    First thing is, the company has sent wrong item. Second is after written (Mail) they refused to accept the parcel and hence denied item replacement. I already lost Rs. 629 and the courier charges. Either they should provide replacement and courier refund or entire money ( Rs. 629 + courier charges) + Rs 5000 as compensation for humiliation and wrong commitments.

                                    dear sir/madam this company has been doing fruad openly...i was called by india today book club,the person calling was ashwani yadav and alex gorge as they told their name...they regularly calling me from 10 days to buy their product.. the product was sumsung 12.megapixcel camera..and free gifts were Rs 20000 voucher of surat daimonds and holiday pack and round air trip and reebak watch.istly i refuse them becuase of their claim process for holiday pack and round air trip...they told me to adjust my old pack of holiday and air trip in it..they commit me to give the couple round air ticket and booking of holiday pack with delievery of camera..because i refuse to claim process...on their hard commitment i place order of samsung camera cost Rs.7598...after that they give me the booking id[protected]...which was wrong when i later confirm through id..the code of surat daimond given me was IB[protected]..which was also invalid...today i called custmer care...they told me new booking id[protected]..which was rejected by tollfree nember....i am not understanding what to do...india today book club is now looted and doing froud with peoples openly...plz help to sort out sir

                                    India Today Book Club, New Delhi — Defective shirts sent by courier and refusal to replace/refund of money

                                    I am a member of India Today Book Club (ITBC), which I assume is a marketing organisation promoted by India Today group to sell consumer items to consumers termed as members.
                                    ITBC send you sms messages day in and day out offerring a range of consumer articles: shoes, sun-glasses, shrits, books, CDs etc. etc.
                                    I responded to one of their sms some time in January 2010 and placed an order for a white shirt which was delivered to me some time in February. On opening the parcel I realised that the shirt was on a thin fabrik and not fit for wearing in winters. I decided to wear it in April 1st weak. As the shirt was a bit soiled/ dirty due to pinned packaging, I gave it a light wash and ironed it. to my surprise, it showed a number of air-bubbles on the collar. The fusing or pasting of the collar with the inner lining was extremely poor and the bubbles were so prominantly visible that one could not wear the shirt.
                                    I wrote to ITBC on 9th of April and got the reply that since I had worn the shirt, it can not be replaced. I wrote back how did they assume I wore it, it was lying absolutely unused. To this they replied that it has become an old matter and they can not do any thing. The help line numbers politely refuse to address the main concern: replacing the poor quality shirt or refunding the money. Though the shirt can easily be returned to their vendor for the obvious manufacturing defects, ITBC is shrking responsibility and I have been taken for a ride. I am stuck with the defective shirt. Can I go to consumer forum???

                                      Inspite of attaching a file consisting of credit card statement with details of payments for all the orders that I have palced, the company sends me mail which reads like this;
                                      "With reference to your mail we would like to inform you that we have not receive your payment against this order and this order is on “cash on delivery” mode so if you have paid then kindly provide us your postal receipt."
                                      When there is a clear mention of the payment made in the cc statement, how can the company deny that they have not received the payment. Probably the concerned people were careless and filed to read the contents of the attachment.
                                      I am becoming extremely impatient because already four months have passed from the day of placing the order. I have now concluded that the company is not trustworthy and even if some of the products they sell are good, consumers should be careful before doing business with the company. Similar complaints have also been posted in this same forum.

                                      India Today Book Club — Non-Reversal of Order amount

                                      This is in reference to India Today book club reference ITBC 09902342. I had placed an order for a pair of shoes and a watch in feb,2009.I got the delivery in mid April 2009 that is after 1.5 months.
                                      Even worse that the shoe size ordered was 10 whereas the one sent was of size 8. The order had correctly captured the shoe size and it was a mistake while processing the order.

                                      I called up and cancelled the the order. Since then I have made almost 20 calls (each of minimum duration 10 mins) and still my money hasnt been refunded. I spoke to Jeetendar Kumar Thakur, who promised that the money would be refunded ASAP. Even emailed all the details to him the same day.

                                      When I called yesterday again, I was told that they havent received the package back. I called up BLUE DART (Unique Reference for the consignment is [protected] on April 21, 2009)and they tell me that the package was delivered to ANJU, India today Book Club on 22 April, 2009 at 2:40 PM. They cant provide POD for consignments older than 3 months.

                                      Kindly refund my amount ASAP. I had attached the return courier bill with the package for a refund as it cost me another 350 RS.

                                      Kindly look into this ASAP!!!

                                      Received a call on 31st Oct. for confirmation and payment. - Payment made by citiban card for Rs. 3199/- and booking/ payment ID given as 220068.

                                      Today have received the SMS tha kit will be delivered against order no. ORA[protected]PA for shipment throgh Bluedart and asked to keep payment of Rs. 3199/- ready in cash.

                                      India today book club - Reebok fitness kits — Delay in reversal of payment

                                      I had ordered 6 Reebok packs through 4 different orders for which the payment was made through credit card (SBI). Later on, 2 orders for 4 Reebok fitness pack were cancelled and reversal of payment was sought. A call was made to the helpline number[protected] on the 15th of January to know the status (Orders were placed on 12th December 2009 and the cancellation was also made on the same day). Strangely, I was told that it was not yet cancelled. Then I was told that the order for reversal of payment was generated on 22nd of January 2010 and that I would get the refund within 22 days. After not getting the refund even after 22 days, I called the helpline number and was told that It woould take 15 days more for refund. Again it was strange that order for reversal of payment was generated for only one order (of 3 packs) eventhough instruction was given for reversal of payment for both the orders that I had placed. Phone calls to the helpline number have not solved the problem. Even emails to [protected]@indiatodaybookclub.com have not solved it. Actually, very rarely I get a response through mail eventhough India Today Book Club claims that it would promptly reply within 48 days.

                                      Inspite of several calls to the helpline number[protected], reversal of payment has not been made yet. Cancellation of the order was done on 12th Dec 2009 itself. There was no response from the company also. Only after posting the complaint in this forum on 27th February 2010, a mail was received by me on the same day informing me that the reversal of payment would be processed in a short period. Strangely, on 24th of March 2010, i got a call from the company regatding the same orders. It is asking me whether I have received the Reebok fitness kits which I had cancelled. Now they say that they were made as cash on delivery. The amounts for all the orders have been debited from my credit card account. A copy of the cc statement was also sent to the company long back. But the company is still dilly dallying. I was also told by the company man yesterday (24th March) over phone that I would get a mail regarding this the same day. I have not received the same even today. I also don't know about the two comlaints I had lodged with the company (complaint numbers; 384390 and 384401). Anyone who wants to transact any business with the ITBC, beware !!!

                                      India Today Book Club — Delay in Payment reversal

                                      I have made 2 purchases from India Today Book Club on May 25th. Membership number - ITBC10322138.

                                      Details follows.
                                      Order value- 7,498.00 * 2

                                      This was based on a statement from the executive, Mr. Suraj Srivastava on 21st April that I have won cash prize of Rs. 4,50,000.
                                      Then realizing that I was cheated, I tried to cancel the order. When I caled the call center, the response was that the product is already delivered and I need to reject the courier.
                                      The courier reached here by 5th of June and I rejected those. s


                                      Then I called call center several times and the answer was the payment will be reverted in 20 days. Even the mails were not responded.

                                      Now the calls are dropped by the executives, when I call from known numbers.
                                      I have spent mearly Rs. 1000 calling these people.
                                      This indicates that India Today are professional frauds and beggars. Hope they will make their name internationally soon.

                                      I have made a purchase on 22nd April ( HTC Phone )

                                      This was based on a statement from the executive on 21st April that I have won cash prize of Rs. 1, 00, 000.
                                      I have not received the product yet.

                                      Again I got a call on 25th of May by 11:15 from Mr. Suraj Srivastava.
                                      I made 2 purchases of value Rs. 7, 498.00. One philips photophrams and a portable DVD player.
                                      The booking Id given are as follows[protected],[protected].

                                      After the purchase I got a call from Suraj again and informed the following
                                      1. I have won Rs. 4, 50, 000. He gave me cheque details, clearing number and locking number.
                                      2. If somebody calls for purchase, telling you have won prize, you need not do it, and tell them that you got the locking Id.
                                      3. A confirmation mail will be sent to me in short time.

                                      I have not received the mail yet.

                                      I called the customer care[protected], yesterday ( 28th May ) to get the details of the orders.

                                      But those booking Ids are not in my name.


                                      Please cancel all these orders and give me the refund at the earliest.

                                      From this date nothing have been done by India Today to solve this problem.
                                      On calling the customer care they told me to reject the courier to cancel the orders. As I was ready to take the phone, I accepted that courier and rejected the rest two. Rest is told already.


                                      Today ( 26th august ) I called customer care[protected] the executive connected to some senior person and he made me hold the call for 12 minutes and told that they will call back in 24 -48 hours. Yesterday, when I told then regarding the money spend by me for calling them, the answer was, "You are calling from your office, no. So why are you bothering about money". Is this the way to talk to a customer. As I told them I called from my home they stopped that. Again these people are trying to cover up their guiltiness by telling something. I have never face such humiliation from any sort of service providers who gave service to me.

                                      Please take necessary action on this

                                      The company is not providing payment for a period of 3months.no assured response from the part of tycoons.the told they are changing the business plan focused on ooty project .but sill no idea about our money.the told they will repay it soon.

                                        i received the product( Reebok Classic watch ) that i ordered on 13th of march but its absolutely frustrating that its not in working condition.... after receiving the product i found that the watch is stopped(don't know why). so pls tell me what to do next (my number - [protected] ). any how i want my watch in working condition otherwise the results won't be good!!!! i will really go to consumer court and take strong action.....

                                        I too had ordered a watch from bagittoday.com recently. There was a bit of a problem with its functioning but the issue was soon resolved. Bagittoday.com representatives were able to put me through to the correct person and I’m sure your problem will get rectified too.
