I wish to inform, I have ordered for the book called "Complete History Of The World" at a special offer price of Rs.2199.00 a month ago and the amount for the same has been debited from my Credit card on February 1st 2010.

It's been 15 days the payment made to you & I'm yet to receive the product with other assured gifts.

I hope you will look in to the matter at most priority and send me the product with other assured gifts at the earliest.

India Today Book Club/Complete History Of The World — neither product nor assured gift sent and nor payments refunded back

India today book club a subsidiary of IndiaToday Group offered me a promotional scheme including special offer price and assured gifts worth rupees 12,098.00 for purchase of the book namelyComplete History Of The World in september last being as the member of the club since a long time vide membership no.ITBC 00084407 and enjoyed its products since a long time and I paid the amount through my credit card in september last,but neither they sent the ordered product to me nor the assured gifts are received by me till date.latter on they changed their web site from indiatoday book club.com to bagittoday.com,till now I have sent a series of protected correspondece/e mails to them and they always reply in a feeded system requesting me for waiting a few days and conveying me that my grievances have been sent to the concerned department but my grievances still stands unresolved,it is astonished that how a big business house of the country is grabbing the public money in such a superious way,my refund is still waiting for disbursement........MALIK MANZOOR-UL-HAQ

    Hi,
    I had received a call from India Today Book Club for a digital camera and placed order over phone and paid money through credit card.

    The order was placed in oct 14-15th. Order number orb[protected]ts. Its been more than half an year and i have not received the product. I have been following up with India Today Book club. Finally on 21 Dec 2009 One Mr Azeem Khan said he will refund the money to my credit card itself.
    But when i called the India Today Book Club office they say he has resigned from the Job.

    I have been receiving only excuses from them since past 6 months.

    Dear Sir / Madam,

    Further to the above subject and as per the below details, I have returned the shipment to them on a same day through overnite courier under POD no.[protected]. Now it's more than a one and half month and everytime there are different people handling query. I have a writen confirmation from them saying we will pay as early as possible but no on is takeing immediate action.

    Request you to take a necessary step towards to resolve the same as inidia today book clubs are cheating people by offering duplicate product and making people fool around them.

    India Today Book Club — Money not Refunded

    This is reference to one of the order's which i have placed with India today in August for a kodak digital Camera, the camera was not in good condition when received after that i spoke with your executive and i've been told that please send back the camera to B-47, Indira Enclave, Neb sarai, New Delhi - 110068. I sent the camera back and its been delivered on the 25/09/2009 and i've been told that your money will be refunded back to you within 15 days. its December now and i am still waiting for my hard earned money to be returned back,when I place this order my credit card was charged for Rs. 5998 and every month i am paying interest on this money. on top of that whenever i call at[protected] i need to hold on for atleast 20 mins. I am in mumbai and you can very well imagine that how much it costs for makng STD calls everyday for 20 mins.

    Please understand my situation and put yourself into my shoes and think, i am paying interest for something which i dont have with me and also spending money on STD calls to get my money refunded back to me.

    Dear friend,

    For this incident you are only responsible. Already lots of rules and regulations and security terms and conditions will be there for credit card transactions to place an order. You just got a call and suddenly placed an order without checking all these criteria’s even without thinking from where you got call.
    Daily we are getting lots for mails by telling someone died in US or Africa. They nominated us for their property before dying. Around $[protected] going to transfer to us. For that we need to send 1 lack for stamp paper. After giving money to such like people just complaining.
    Whats the use????

    India Today Book Club — Not received ordered products

    I have ordered reebok watch on 2nd March 2010. Till now i have not received that order. they are telling many reasons. I have written many number of mails. in every mail they are telling that they will send soon. But till now I have not got any details regarding that one. I do not know whether I receive it or not.

    Do not beleive this club.

    Do not book any product from this site.

    Its cheating customers.

    India Today Book Club — FUNDS AND PRODUCTS ARE NOT RECEIVED

    Sir,
    As per my email earlier which you have not replied am again explaining
    here my objections. On 4th Aug I have paid through cell pay using my
    credit card. My transaction amount was 5698+598 rupees ID[protected]/98
    I have recieved two reebok watches. But till now I have not recieved
    the Refund value 5698 rupees in my credit card account as promised by
    your customer care representative. On the other hand another three
    transactions I have made on 25 & 26 th aug 2010 rupees 8998+598+2000
    and I was given two IDs against these transactions[protected]/37 aginst
    which I have got two reebok watches as free gifts. But when I
    contacted with customer care they asked my IDs and when I replied they
    said thet my IDs are not matching.They told me to collect
    authorisation codes from my respective bank. I did the same and
    replied agin but they answered me negatively that they dont have the
    record of 2000 rupees payments. I am now totally confused. I am so
    here attched my credit card payments details. I have contacted with
    HDFC BANK CREDIT CARD section. they are ready to help me in this
    regard because I have the proofs of all the payments.Even your
    representatives are telling my mobile numbers incorrectly.

      This is the worst and pathetic online shopping experience I ever had. Whenever I call at your customer care, your representative gives me some weird answer. Today they are saying I have placed the order on 21st Jan however it was placed on 5th Jan. Now they are saying that it will take another 7 working days to process.

      Prior to this I received 2 calls from your side on 21st Jan and was told that the stuff is being dispatched it will take 5 working days to receive, now even after 8 days of receiving the call I'm getting answer that it will take another 7 working days.

      The strange thing is that whenever I'm making call, I'm getting very different answers. Somebody is saying it has been dispatched, somebody is saying he will make sure that it will be delivered in 24-48hrs, somebody is saying it will take 7 working days and height of all the today your executive replied that it will take 10-15 days from today.

      Attached below is the email transcript between me and bagittoday, which will give you the fair idea as how they are treating with their customers. On top of this you can't cancel your order once placed.

      I would suggest everybody to maintain distance from bagittoday.

      BAGIT TODAY Are Big Fraudsters, They Have done all arrangements with their Logistic Partner "EXPRESS-IT" Courrier Company,
      Both say that the Consignent is Delivered but it is all Lie.

      After 100`s of Coimplains, Mail n Telephone calls and Finally Warning of Police complaint and Legal Action Moved them and i Got my Consignment.

      It took 65 Days to Deliver my Purchased item.

      They are Fraud Beware!!!

      It is clearly mentioned on your order email that delivery will be made in 2-3 weeks. I suggest you start following after the stipulated time and whenever you call the customer care please tell your order no. and rest of the details. Also, please do note the customer care representative’s name for future reference.
      i have given the courier AWB (E[protected] no by calling me on 12th June 2010. On 14th evening when i have checked the ExpressIt courier, they are saying the consignment returned saying ther is no customer in my address.I have given my hostel address of Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore and how can they say there is no Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore. ExpressIT is in cooperation with bagittoday guess..i have ordered items for Rs 3298..if you are not delivering my consignment i know what legal action to be done...

      This is totally frustrating.

      Last time (14-Jun) when I spoke to customer service representative I was told that the POD is received and will be updated in system by Friday, but when I called in today I found that POD is not yet received.

      For god sake this is sent on email and if not received the notification of the failure would have been received by me.

      It took more than a month to deliver the item that I requested on top of that it took 11 days for the delivery guy to bring that to my home.

      There were 5 pieces of the cutlery set that was missing from the package and moreover the glass of the Numero UNO watch was broken. This clearly shows that before packaging there was no checks that are done by your company.

      It's been weeks now that you have failed to confirm that you have received the Numero UNO watch that I had return. Every time I call the call center I get a different answer.

      I request you to please take some action regarding this ASAP. I'm again attaching the same POS for your reference.

      At this moment I have started feeling like cheated by India Today Book Club(sorry to say this).
      i agree, they are the best cheatrs in online shopping. they will send u any thing and ask to accept it saying it is as per their terms and condition. all go to consumer forum and buy on ur terms and condition.
      I am fully agree with all these complaints. I am also facing similar problem with these fraud people. I have sent them an e-mail but they don't have simple courtesy of acknowledging it.

      I have placed an order for Reebok material (Shoes, track suit, goggle, watch etc.) worth of Rs. 3298/- on 13-Jun-2010 as per your advertisement published in the reputed daily newspaper using my credit card. The booking ID is[protected].
      I haven't received the delivery yet. 2-3 times I have contacted your customer care but getting the same answer that they are not able to trace the order because the order is not updated / punched in their system and please wait for some time. I have also requested to connect me to their Sr. Manager but got an answer that he is busy in handling some other customer and he will call me with in 10 mins but till now I haven't received any call.
      I have also logged two complaints with your customer care center. The complaint numbers are - 542176 dated 29-Jun-10 and 723566 dated 12-Jul-10 but it seems that you don't have any system in place to handle your business and to take care of your customer so I am loosing a faith in your organisation. Please consider this as an escalation and handle it with the highest priority as I have already made a payment in advance.

      I hope you will understand the the seriousness of this message and deliver my order within this week.

As a result of this mail Ms Tannu Priya Called me form Phone No[protected] and after satisfying her She Give me the contact No [protected] of Aramex courier after regular chasing with the courier today Ms Ritika Attended and denied any instruction from the Book Club to collect Back the Product for on ward return to Bagit today

      Very much painful the number from where Tanu Priya called me is not responding then where to go, except no alternative to further request the seniors of the India Today

      Sir I am a old and retired person and need proper attention of the Orgn more over I am a regular subscriber of ITE /BT from the last more then 20 years and such type of Costumer care was never expected from a ognn like India Today ( Book Club)

      Today frauds were doing business with Advertisements everywhere. Why the Government not taking any action against these type of fellows. First the India Today Group should be banned if they were not taking any action against them. What a terms and conditions, they were saying that selling only premium brands and they were not responsible for quality of the product. It really hurts the people who purchase thro online.

      I was called on my mobile on 16/10/2010, for an offer by Multinational Company Bagittoday (Living India Today) of India Today company, about benefit of Rs 140000/ which I will get from them if I purchase samsung mobile for Rs 14999/-, I have paid it through my credit card on IVR (Thinking it is authentic) but after first payment they again asked me to pay an amount of Rs 32, 900 for LCD tv and if I fail to pay, then they will not process my first payment (ie. Of 14000) and I will not be given any benefit and I was forced to pay Second payment of Rs 32, 900 again and it didn’t stopped here they started asking for a payment of 14999/- and with same threat. I have crossed the limit of my Credit card and unable to pay their demand because it seems that their demands are unending and they are charging it again and again. So I approach to your honor for help and action against these Scammers. Please look into matter and take necessary action against this fraudulent company and also help me to sue them. Sir I am not the only one, who is the victim but you will find hundreds in the following websites links (Google search with “bagittoday fraud” search results 14000 links):

        India Today Book Club is one of the biggest cheater brand which is still running with a big brand name.
        Never ever trust this company and never lure to any of their offers. They are in to online fraud business.
        Even after 3 months I haven't received either my order or the refund.

        Following is my full mail conversation where I am receiving the same copy paste reply always.
        Apart from that I've made 5 calls to their call center avg. 20 mins each time over STD.

        I've one of my own worries, too. I've already posted one at the ccccore.co.in. When I fail to find a rescue I'll be searching new avenues. I will very much like to see ITBC pay through their nose.

        Today I had a talk with Mr. Ravi Negi (Call Center Executive) and again got the same assurance which I am getting from past three months that the matter is being looking into. But there is no action from your side.

        Now the situation has become worse that I am not even getting responses of my mail from your side.

        I am giving up with my patiente on this issue and I don't this you are taking my calls or mails seriously to resolve this issue.

        This is a BIG LIE from India Today Book Club, which was expected.
        I don't know on what basis they are claiming that my complaint is resolved on 30/04/2010 and 13/05/2010 and 21/05/2010.
        I've not received any mail or any sort of communication from them as per their claim.
        Apart from that I've not received my refund too.

        This is just for the benefit of other people that I am sharing that my issue is not resolved yet and please beware of a cheater company called India Today Book Club's (ITBC) promotional offers. Otherwise you will definitely loose your money.

          I had ordered for books sending a cheque ffor Rs 2199// which included

                Hi,

                I ordered camera online with the scheme of 2 days and 2 night trip to anywhere in India. I booked the same on 23rd Oct 2009, but I have neither received the camera nor the scheme. Moreover, I was interacting with India Today Club on mail and on phone but every time they told it will take 10-15 days to come my place. But today when I called they replied we do not have stock and will refund your money within 28 days. Shall I believe them? Will I get money in 28 days? What about interest of the amount and scheme they offered? Shall I call them cheater?

                I need your help on this regard.

                    I have placed an order worth Rs.6698 on 13/10/2009 for Art'd Inox dinner set for which my booking id is [protected]. I have not received the same till 19th January 2010. I have spent lot of money on STD calls to know the status. I have not received any information from them till today.                       I was regularly getting offer thro email from India Today for purchasing the books at discount and avail free gift that is Holiday voucher in the year 2008. Even their representative contacted me at phone also telling the benefit of the offer. Finally considering India Today as reputed & genuine company I agreed to purchase the books and get holiday voucher which was two days free stay in any one of the listed cities mentioned in the voucher. I was sent the books of Rs 999/- vide invoice no ORA[protected] and membership no ITBC07329667. I was surprised When I saw the terms and conditions of Holiday Voucher which was not informed before.
                      First it was not holiday voucher as it cannot be availed on holidays like weekends and closed holidays. In addition to that it was valid only for limited dates/period of the months of a year. To avail this holiday voucher it was also told to send a DD of Rs 800/- as registration charges to India Hotel Review .com which will arrange the accommodation. These conditions were not told before purchasing the books and I found it cheating by the company. Any way I registered with India hotel review.com by sending required documents and a DD of Rs 800/- in April 2009. India hotel review .com asked me to give them three dates and three different destinations for accommodation and availing the Voucher. I sent them three dates and three destinations for the month of Sept- Oct for booking at listed destination of Mahabaleshwar, Lonvala etc. I was assured by India hotel review .com that I would get at my first chosen destination. Believing them I booked the tickets from Dehradun (My place of stay) to Pune/Bombay but later they informed it was not possible for above destination because of heavy crowd. I again contacted them in Nov 2009 and requested to book in Haridwar for any date in Dec 2009. Haridwar being near to my place, I visited there several times but I just wanted to avail the voucher. The official of India hotel review .com told that it was not possible in Dec -2009 and I should take in the last week of Jan-2010. Accordingly after discussing with her I booked for 19-21 Jan’2010. I was assured that I would get the accommodation on requested date. To my surprise this time again I was informed few days that the accommodation is not available on the above dates. Now it is clear that they are not interested to provide me accommodation and it was only to cheat me and collected Rs 800/-. Because of this I lost on booking to and fro railway ticket to Pune and Maharastra along with Rs 800/- the registration fee charged by India hotel review .com. Now I must be compensated by the company for the expenditure I incurred for my trip to Maharastra and Rs 800/- charged by India hotel review .com for the service which they have not provided

                      India Today Books club — Fraudulent promotions

                      India Today joins ranks with many Indian A grade fradulent companies - promoting spurious schemes such as freebies with CDs or books - for which they charge exorbitantly and do not give. I ordered on COD a set of 8 CDs for 1100 rupees for which India Today was offering free gifts of a Reebok T Shirt and a bag. My order no is OGA[protected] and order date is 24th March'09. While this particular web-page, where they solicit or beg for money, seems to work oh just fine, their link meant for redemption of the free coupon code conks off when you fill in the coupon code and submit. So does their phone no:[protected]. For your fraudulent activities and petty unethical behavior, Mr Aroon Purie and Living Media Co, you are lucky you operate in a country that has soft laws. I am for sure not going to buy any of your substandard stuff anymore.

                      Hope this forum takes notice and alerts people of this.

                      I also order books by order no OGA[protected] on 17th oct 2008 and they send me the order by invoice no OHA[protected] with in few days, but my free gifts are still on the way. Whenever i call them at[protected] they assured me to deliver with in 15 days, but really they are in a country that has soft laws.

                      I had booked oneof the package from indiatoday bookclub containing 12 best book seller book pack+To and Fro air ticket anywhere in india + Hotel stay of 3days and 2 nights+Reebok shoes+Reebok bag @ Rs.2598 and i had done payment by credit card on dated 14.02.2009 , with booking id[protected]. But still i didnt received any package, after follow up to their customer care i came to know that package didnt reached on destination due to wrong postal pin code,after that i corrected my pin code and confirmed the address also,after that i got only assurance it will reach in 20 days time frame.
                      I had done lot of follow up and even sent mail too but i didnt got any proper response from pathetic service of india today.Even after that i booked another package and i got assurance i will receive both package in one delivery,i received 2nd package but still didnt recived 1st one. After continous follow up with india today customer care,their executive told us due to stock out of 1st package they will refund my money and even they took my hdfc bank account no.But still no refund credited in account ,now i am not interested in that package at all and i want my money back.
                      so kindly request to look in the matter and do the needfull for refund.

                        Again and again i m calling to there call center and sending mails to there sites but no response is there from the company side,every time a new story and now today the customer service lady told that my payment is not showing in the order,from last 35 days there are making other excuses and now this new story i dont know what to do.
                        they are playing with the online complains site as well.
                        by just send a mail that we come across your mail on the site we will try to resolve it as soon as possible.

                        My credit card was promptly debited for Rs. 3199 by India Today Book Club and inspite of repeated reminders I have not received the fitness kit.
                        The only response I get from them is that it will be delivered soon.
                        This I believe is a fraud being carried out by India Today and many consumers have been cheated by them.

                          I had placed order thru the India today book club - bag it today for a reebok watch and paid the money thru my credit card.

                          when i did not receive the shipment i sent a e mail in reply to theier confirmation of hte order.

                          i got a mail from some sami hassan saying the same has been despathecd on the 27th dec. by exp. it courier. and also giave a consignment note no.

                          till date not recd and so i call up their nos and am told that the no. given is wrong. and they cant tell me hte correct nos and worstis they are not able to locate the order. even though i hv given them the billing id no. iven by them.

                          they are not ready to talk and the call centre girls are not helpful. is htis a genuine india today group or is a fraud comapny

                            I had with me the confirmation email of 11-Nov-2009 which says

                            I registered a complaint on this website as detailed below. While a got a message from itbc asking for info which i provided, there has been no response from them subsequently or a response to the complaint i filed directly on 04/Nov/09. I have not come across a company as 'administratively IMPOTENT' as itbc !!!.

                            Non Receipt of order / refund
                            ITBC charged my credit card Rs.15,000.00 on 29/Sep/09. More than a month has passed and there is no sign of the order. I requested for a refund & was asked to send all the information including a copy of bank statement which i did on 04/Nov/2009.
                            I filed a complaint for non-receipt of order placed in Sept & asked for a refund on 4thNov, followed with reminders on 9th & 11th, plus sent several email reminders. You would expect a company to respond & sort out the problem but ITBC seem to have come from another planet where "business principles, ethics & commercial morals" do not exist. I earlier said ITBC guys are 'administratively impotent'...they are only proving my point by their silence.
                            Days pass into weeks and into months but yet no action from ITBC to resolve the issue & refund the amount. Wonder what ITBC stands for, how about...INDIA TODAY CURRENCY CHOR
                            On 4th December I was assured by ITBC that refund would be made within a maximum of 21 days. Since then all i am getting are false promises. While India Today reports on various frauds & incidents through their publication & TV channels, they are themselves cheats & frauds !!!. I am collecting all the correspondence i have had with them & will most certainly take appropriate action & ensure ITBC's fraudulent conduct is publicised so the people of India know the real fraudulent face of the group !!!.
                            YOU CHEATS ARE PUSHING ME BEYOND ALL REASONABLE LIMITS & TESTING MY PATIENCE. 3 MONTHS OF FOLLOW UP, CALLS, MAILS & YOU , YES TALK THE SAME ... 1) Please accept our sincere apologize for the inconvenience caused to you... 2) kindly provide us some more working days for the same as your refund is already in processing ... 3) We shall be happy to render any further assistance or clarification that you may require.                             on 15 may 2010 . arround 12 pm i have received a call on my mobile number [protected] from landline no.[protected] and they told me that we are offering you a domestic holiday package for r/s 3198 for 3days and 2nights holidays in 3 to 5 star hotel stay with return air tickets for 2 persons. then i ask this package is including all taxes or exclusive they confirmed me all inclusive only you have to arrange for local transporation only and this you can avail up to one year and you will get some books and cds at free of cost. also than overphone i requested for a prospects (holiday package) to mail me all details of the packages. they took my email address and promise me within 10 minutes you will get the mail but in the mean time their staff one Mr. rajveer sharma took the phone and told me that we are only having 40 packages remaining if you wait for email then we will not be in position to offer you the package and he told that one member is eligible for 2 packages only so he made me realized that if i wait for mail of package by email then i would not able to get these holiday packages. that fellow created the situation likethat i have made my mind to books 2 more holiday package. after i paid the amount for 2 packages each from my creditcards.after compelting 2 package that fellow ask me that i can offer you 2 more packages if you are booking now .i have purchased 2 more package and paid from credit cards. After completing 4 package mr. rajveer sharma transfered the telephone to the new person and that fellow told me that if you purchase futher 1 package we will give you rs150000 worth of jewellry gift coupn so i purchased futher 1 more package then that person transfered the telephone line to onther person and he told me again that if you take 1 more packag i will give r/s 30000 worth of gift. then i realised that i have been cheated by these fellows. so i asked that i donot want any futher packages you send me the email for holidaypackage details. they assured me with in one hour i will get the emails. up to 6 pm i have waited for the email but i didnt recieve any mail from them. they havent given me any conformation no. or my membership no. when i asked for details they told you will get all details in emails. . After 6 pm when i didnt recieve any mails then i called the telephone no. from which i recd the call i was totally surprised to hear that number doesn't exist. so i understand that landline no from which they are making calls only for outgoing calls only not for incoming.it is understood that their sales representives can commit any thing for making people fools after that no body can question them directly. this is company policy that any employe can make any commitments but they only need the money. when I open the site of indiatodaybookclub i was surprised to see that i am not alone person who they have cheated but millions.Upto 24 may 2010 i wonot recd. any emails. on 25 may 2010 i got 4 parcels from indiatoday bookclub which contains nothing but books and some cds ... they have made the invoice for the all the books and cds for the total amount of 3198. they are pretending to show as if i have ordered some books which i dint order (according to them we have ordered for books and entitled to get some free holiday package ) where as my actual order was a holiday package .so wat should i do now .. i got fooled by them and ordered 5 packages .its completely useless ,no one in my family read books . please take some serious actions to avoid this kind of fraud activities.i am a very average person ,my two months salary have been looted by this people . i thought of taking my family for a holiday in a low budget but all my dreams got shattered . please help me .

                            You said it right. I received a call and the same way I was harassed by these guys. I agreed to pay Rs.15900/- but these debited my account twice. They actually told me that I should be paying the amount after 45 days and also told me that I can cancel my order if I do not like the products but by deceit they have debited my card on the same day. Today I called up the India Book club and lodged a complaint for the double debit and also the debit instantly. She coolly says that the amount will be credited after 21 days. Why should we be penalised for their fault / unscrupulous ways of cheating. Who is going to pay the interest for the unwanted debit. I think someone from the book club should respond and also take responsibility. They have mail Ids in the website but no mails reach them and they bounce back. This further strengthens our conviction that they are cheaters and are out in the market to loot the peoples hard earned money. I hope this organisation will help us in taking up such issues to a logical end.

                            I have purchased Philips home theatre in Apr 2010 and received the same by last of April. I found that non working and returned back to ITBC and also I was not satisfied with the specification told while teleshopping and the product which was delivered.                             India Today — refund not processed

                            Dear Sir,

                            I have booked bag it today promotional holiday scheme. At the time of booking "bag it today" confirmed through the mail that we only have to pay one time promotion payment and that would cover all the hotel accommodation expenses with the taxes. When we visited the hotel, they charged us utility charges of Rs 2000. We have called up "bag it today" and Mr Ravi (customer service executive) from "bag it today" has confirmed that, you pay this charges and we will refund you the amount in a week after you submit the bill to us. We have submitted the bill to "bag it today" for processing the refund on May 18, 2011. It is more than a month and they have not processed our refund yet. We are continuously checking with them but they are not responding.

                            Along with teh readers digest subscription they send a unwanted gift with a VPP charge of Rs 500. My mother unknowingly received it. This was purely unsolicited and India Today should answer the cheating they are doing.

                                i ordered for swatch watch from bagittoday.com Order No.[protected]India Today Book Club) on[protected]. I paid the amount through CC. I was promised that the order will be delivered in 3-4 weeks time. Since then two months has passed but the order has not been dispatched. Whe i contacted on emails, they simply do not reply or gave vague answers like "Our system has not been updated, get back in 3-4 days". When contacted on telephone they say that there was some technical fault and promise that within 10 days the order will be delivered. Upto now nothing has happened.
                                It seems that India Today Group are now in cyber frauds and making money by fooling people around.

                                India Today Book Club — Non receipt of swatch watch ordered

                                This is dr. Rajanikanth from Bhopal, India. My membership number for india today book club is ITEC08814042. I got number of calls and sms alerts that as a member of the india today book club i can order for a swatch watch for Rs. 3199/- . I ordered for a BLACK SWATCH WATCH on 25th December, 08 and paid a sum of Rs. 3199/- for the same via my credit card (APPLE Tech). The reference number generated for the same is [protected]. However i recieved 16 pens of poor quality(might cost Rs 10/ each) on 6th January 09, instead of the watch and i appraised the customer care agent about the issue. I was asked to return the same which i did promptly the very next day by EMS speed post to the following address/;

                                this is the same address from where i recieved the wrong parcel. The web tracking of the consignment i sent shows that it was delivered on 13th January'09. you may also click on http://www.indiapost.gov.in/speednew/Track3.aspx?articlenumber=EI[protected]IN for the same. i was promised that the watch that i ordered would be sent as soon as they recieve my consignment.
                                Since then, i have been mailing them and making futile calls to the customer care centre with no proper reply. They sometimes say they didnot recieve the parcel, sometimes say they it was recieved but the system is not updated for its status. All i got is a complaint number "COMP54990". It has become a practice for the past three months to call them up every week and hear the same story. They say my issue will be resolved in a week's time and the next time i call up, it is the same story. when i asked them to return my amount all they did was to generate another complaint number(67131) and asked for a time of 25 working days.

                                i feel cheated and very much disappointed at the lousy service and attitude of the customer service cell of a reputed company like "INDIA TODAY". i have been wasting my time, money and energy trying to tell my story to a new customer care personnel every time i call up. At the end, till date i have neither recieved my watch nor my money was returned. i urge, through this channel, that proper action be undertaken and the matter resolved at the earliest.

                                India Today Book Club — NON RECEIPT OF SWATCH WATCH ORDERED IN DECEMBER 2008

                                This is Dr. Rajanikanth from Bhopal, India. I was given membership india today book club as I was registered in irctc web site. My membership number for India today book club is ITBC08814042. In the month of December 2008, I received number of calls and SMS alerts that as a member of the India Today book club I can order for a swatch watch for Rs. 3199/- . As I was not able to complete the order online, I got a phone call from the call centre representative who helped in making the payment. I ordered for a BLACK SWATCH WATCH on 25th December, 08 and paid a sum of Rs. 3199/- for the same via my credit card (APPLE Tech). The reference number generated for the same is [protected]. However, I received 16 pens of poor quality (might cost Rs 10/ each) on 6th January 09, instead of the watch. I appraised the customer care agent about the issue. I was asked to return the same which I did promptly the very next day by EMS speed post to the following address/;

                                LIVING MEDIA INDIA Ltd., B -47, INDIRA ENCLAVE, NEB SARAI, NEW DELHI.

                                This is the same address from where I received the wrong parcel. The web tracking of the consignment I sent shows that it was delivered on 13th January'09.

                                You may also click on http://www.indiapost.gov.in/speednew/Track3.aspx?articlenumber=EI[protected]IN for the same. I was promised that the watch that I ordered would be sent as soon as they receive my consignment.

                                Since then, I have been mailing and making futile calls to the customer care centre of INDIA TODAY BOOK CLUB with no proper reply. They sometimes say they didn’t receive the parcel, sometimes say they it was received but the system is not updated for its status. All I got is a complaint number "COMP54990". It has become a practice for the past three months to call up every week and tell the same story. They say my issue will be resolved in a week’s time and the next time I call up, the issue is untouched. When I asked them to return my amount all they did was to generate another complaint number (67131) and asked for a time of 7 working days for approval and additional 25 working days for the payment.

                                I feel cheated and very much disappointed at the lousy service and attitude of the customer service cell of a reputed company like "INDIA TODAY". I have been wasting my time, money and energy trying to tell my story to a new customer care personnel every time I call up. At the end, till date I have neither received my watch nor was my money returned. I urge that proper action be undertaken and the matter resolved at the earliest.
                                I also have similar issues with Bagittoday.com . I have placed an order long time back, more than a month have gone and there is no trace of my shipment

                                I have used the services of bagittoday.com quite often and have on a few occasions faced a few problems regarding delivery of parcels on time. However, after communicating with bagittoday.com personnel the issue has always been resolved and I’m thus far quite happy with the purchased items

                                Today I recieved a call from this party who informed me that I am one of the three lucky winners who has won a cash bag worth Rs.2.25 lakhs. Then I was told that to avail this cash bag, I should purchase one of the three specified products costing Rs.18, 000/-, 22, 000/- and 39, 000/- respectively. Something seems to be fishy since they were so insistant and persuasive over the phone for over 20-25 minutes. Can anyone advise me suitably in this regard?

                                This is just a fake site. They are just stealing money from us. I placed order 3 months back and I did not get my products. The support is also too bad. People please join hands with me to make this site unpopular. Let’s make people aware about the fake site and stop them from buying anything from this site.

Kindly note this is not my gift i have paid for this order Rs 6396/- i have ordered on Nov 29 till now i have not received the parcel. I have given the address again the below address is already having in your records because i have received the other products like Premium booking ID[protected] - Sigma tel mobile 2 nos and[protected] swatch watch in the same address which you have in your records. I dont know why i am not getting this parcell again.                                     India Today — One book missing

                                    I received books by VPP for which I paid Rs.634. The invoice mentions of four books, but the packet had only three books. The book on Vaastu was missing. Besides, to claim the free gifts - the site is not working with the given ID. How good is their claim of their offers?

                                    I placed an order for a book through the India Today book club. Firstly, it took over 2 months to reach me! After reading a few pages, I realised that the book had a lot of missing & blank pages.

                                    The customer service was extremely poor and took over 2.5 months to respond! They asked me to courier the book to them for replacement.

                                    After several follow ups on mails & calls, I finally received the book. This took another 2 months.However, the book again came in a very bad condition. The package was intact so the issue from the shipper itself.

                                    To add to my dismay, this book also had many blank pages !!! So after 5 months ...I was back to the same position where Istarted. I did not want to go through this painful process again. I had already couriered the book twice on my own expense. (1st time they had returned to me).

                                    Now it has been another 1 month & the India today customer service has not bothered to respond to my woes.

                                    i had not ordered it and when asked about the company sending it the guy says its confidential. i don't know weather its a fraud company using our details on the net and asking us to pay for books not ordered.
                                    they mentioned free gifts such as a reebok shoe, holiday package, valid for one year and so on.

                                      I am here again for getting the justice.
                                      It's a strange to me.

                                      More than one month is over but still you did not receive refused parcel.

                                      If you don't receive the parcel it's not my fault, as because I am not responsible of that part. That's your business with courier.

                                      Clarify the matter with the courier, one and half month is already over. I think there is some problem with the courier. It's you duty to check it, as because I have cancelled the order.

                                      I need my money back.

                                      I am absolutely surprised that I was made that transaction (forcefully done by your customer care representative) on 28th Nov'09 and logged my complain on the same day by phone and email both. After that I got in touch with you everyday by phone and email both regarding the same matter.

                                      How the order was dispatched before getting punched ??? (marked green in may mail dated 28-Nov-09).

                                      Though today your customercare representative informed me that the order is cancelled: my complain no is 243244.
                                      Order no[protected] should be cancelled and the money will be refunded to my corresponding credit card account

                                      If my order (ID:[protected] is not cancelled I will go to consumer forum, human rights and also higher authority.

                                      If so, I am very happy with your customer-care service, but still I need the confirmation through email, regarding the same matter.

                                      Dear Sir,

                                      I am Angshuman Ghosh, working as a scientist in chembiotek (TCGLS company) involved in innovative research. As we don't have enough time to go for shopping we usually do it via internet.
                                      This is the first time I faced such fraud from your company.

                                      Let me come to the details.

                                      I attempted to get reebok fitness kit from your Indiatodaybookclub on 24th Nov'09.
                                      1. At First, I tried to place my order in the following address ( My residential address):

                                      The transaction was unsuccessful and there was no debit from my CITY BANK CARD ACCOUNT.

                                      2. Then, I tried second times with my office address as mentioned below.

                                      Chembiotek research,
                                      Block BN, Sec-V, Salt lake, Kolkata-91.
                                      Mob No: [protected].

                                      The transaction was successful and there was a debit of Rs. 2298 from my same CITY BANK CARD ACCOUNT.

                                      Today (28th Nov'09) I got a phone call from your indiatoday bookclub ([protected]), A lady named Miss/ Mrs Ritu informed me that there was some problem with the internet so the amount Rs-2298/ was not debited from my credit card and I have to go through a procedure by my mobile phone so that the amount can be debited from my account and then the order will be done.

                                      I repeatedly asked that lady that my order is confirmed and I got an email from the concerned department regarding the confirmation. So I don't want to go for further any transaction from my credit card as because she might be wrong and there might be same transaction twice for the same product.
                                      But the lady confirmed me that there was no transaction for my name with indiatoday book club and she again confirmed that no order is there with my mobile no also.
                                      More over If I pay twice for the two same order that and if I make complain one order will be cancelled and the amount will be refunded to my concerned creditcard.
                                      I went through the transaction and asked her name. The lady asked her colleague that whether she will say her name or not...this make the doubt to me regarding the transaction..and the lady just said her nickname Ritu (or false !!) and the order no ID:[protected]!!!! and dropped the phone.
                                      I think its not a hard task to you to identify the lady who made the transaction.

                                      I called to citibank customer care and they confirmed me that both the transaction are valid with the same amount Rs.2298/. That means the last transaction was carried out by me, giving me a wrong information, to promote sales.

                                      Instantly I called back to Indiatoday book club at [protected] and they informed me to give the complain at another no: [protected]. I called to that no ([protected]), Mr. Indrajit Sen was there and he listened my problem, and asked to hold the phone for a moment and after that he informed me that today's order yet not punched so make a complain via mail to [protected]@indiatodaybookclub.com. Now I am doing it so.

                                      As today was holiday I was in my home and the trailing mail was in my office login so I come to office to get the details and to mail you.

                                      I would like to request you to cancel the today's order and make refund the amount to my citibank credit card.

                                      And also take necessary action so that this type of fraud again can not be done by your employees. As this type of online shopping is done based on customer caring service, such type of incident will loose your goodwill and ofcourse will loose your customers.

                                      indiatodaybookclub — Refund of payment against cancellation of order

                                      I got the call from indatoday book club on 27th April 2009. And on 29 th I have booked holiday package from my creditcard.They have have said within 10 days I get Parcel. But I got that parcel after 21 days. So I have not accept it and sent back on the same day as per their instruction on customer care no to cancel my order.

                                      Then I have sent 3 mails for Refund but till date I havent received my payment.

                                      India Today Book Club — Non-refund for the cancellation of Order

                                      Sir,

                                      I have placed an order with India Today Book Cub on 25th Feb 2009 The order number is: [protected]. Immediately a day after I made a request to cancel the order. I was told that the delivery of the product is done and I will recieve in 1 week. After number of mails and calls to customer care (which made me to wait more than 1 hour everytime I call) I was told that the order is cancelled and will get my money back in 15 days. Its been 5 months till now I could not get my money. As I have made the purchase thru a credit card I have to pay the interest un-necessarily.

                                      Please help me getting my money back with the interest I need to pay to ICICI bank.

                                      I have gone thru consumer complaints and I found more than 2 thosand complainsts against this. Please take necessary action against this Fraud company and close this company coz many people are victims for this.

                                      I have already placed a complaint, till now its not resolved

                                        Vide your invoice No. ORA[protected] & ORA[protected], I purchased two set of 12 books in Aug 2009. But despite of my requests I could not get free gift ( i.e. Free One Air ticket and Holiday stay) so far.
                                        For your ready reference i summarised as under;
                                        1. as regard Air Ticket is concern I have submitted gift form to Bigcity but so far could not receive ticket.
                                        2. further there is no response in respect of Holiday stay in Three / five star hotel as specified by you.
                                        On the basis Unique Number i have downloaded the form and submitted to you Banglore office. But could not receive Air ticket and Holiday stay.
                                        Please look in to the matter and arrange to send me Air Ticket and Holiday stay per return of post.

                                        Free gift — Non Receipt of free gift

                                        Sir,
                                        I have received the ordered Soor Saaz aur Taal pack of CD(s) under invoice No.ORA[protected] DT 24 Mar 2009, order No.0GA[protected] DT 24.03.09 but the free gift as assured is not sent which may be sent immediately. There were no such conditions but now I am told to claim the gift within 60 days ? Why this double standard and why one has to claim and wait ? This is not expected from India Today which has so much reputation. They are just ruining their image and loosing the trust . Atleast I will never respond to their offers in future.
                                        As we look back to the economic scenario of India, Sh Manmohan Singh did fit to lead the country and with the help of Mr Montek Singh, Mr P. Chidambaram etl he successfully guided the country. He had nothing to loose and the way he handled and completed his term is admirable but India needs a strong charactor like Advaniji, now. He is in such a position that now or never, so far as his age is concerned.People are calling him the iron man but I donot agree. There stands tall Sardar Patel and nobody is nearer to his status, character & courage. Let Advaniji rule this country at least for 2-3 years.
