Subject :- Regarding the salary is not given at time by the company.

Respected Sir,
I am working with the India Today Group company. I am working in this company from last one year but i never recieved my salary at given time. The salary date is month of nine but it's came too late every time. The month of march is going to be finished but still i not recieved my salary cheque of february month. I am really very upset to this thing.
Kindly take a necessary action against the company. And i want the claim for this inconvenience.

    I was booked Reebok lite sprot shoes and free gift Reebok watch from Bag ItToday ( The India Today Group) through net banking on 04/02/2010.My order was cancelled without my conserned and confirmation.After that I was called so many time regarding refund my amount but every time cutomer support give complaint number against my call. I am following continousely but nobody from there end to resolve the problem.

    As per polocy within 20 to 28 days required for refund if refund reference no generated.Already 38 days past.
    Amount not an issue, issue is that missguiding, fak commitment as well as mentaly harashment by Bag It Today.

    India Today — NON DELIVERY OF SUBSCRIPTION AND HARASHMENT FOR REFUND

    Dear Sir,

    I made a purchase of INDIA-TODAY (Bengali) for 3 years on 27 Nov'08. My order no. is

    ITB-WEB[protected]

    My credit Card was debited for Rs. 1499/- instantly. I didn't get the magazine or the gift, After waiting for more than a month, I wrote a letter to the customer care on 29 Dec'08.

    On 31 Dec'08 (after 2 days) I received a mail stating,

    QUOTE=
    This is with reference to your e-mail.
    We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused to you due to non receipt of magazine.
    We would like to inform you that the subscription offer for India Today Bengala had been cold off. We
    request you to wait for 2-3 working days so as to enable us to do needful. Hope you shall bear with us.

    = UNQUOTE

    Since then I had written many mails asking why it was not sent. NO ANSWER.

    How they are going to compensate me for blocking my money for 2 months. NO ANSWER.

    Everytime I ask the above questions, the readymade reply, is your money will be refunded within 2-3 weeks.

    My sincer request is can I get a proper reply from them explaining me why a promotional package is floted if they are not going to give the subscription.

    Why they blocked my money for 2 months, with no proper explanation.

    Looking forward for a help.

      This complaint is regarding a serious fraud that sales agent of India today are doing these days.One guy called me and told me that I have done shopping before also from their company so I am eligible for a draw in which If I buy a product I will get a miniumum guaranted prize of RS5000 and max of Rs one lac.So I bought a swatch watch .After few days a guy named Abhijeet called me again and told that I have won RS60000 which will be transfered to my account in few days or I can get a draft but if I continue to play this game and buy one more product of min rs 15000 I will be elligible for next round where only few persons has gone and it has a guaranted prize of Rs 100000 so I bought a HTC phone and he gave me a claiming ID to claim the prize.But now when I had called there customer care they told that it is not true.These guys have cheated me and maybe many other people aswell.I also want to cancel both the products and my money to be refunded.
      My membership ID is ITBC10318612.I only bought these products because they were provided by a reputed group of Times of India.

        I have booked on rebok kit from india today book club or bagittoday on 6th March 2010 and below mentioned is details is the confirmation recieved.

        Thank you for your order. We wish to inform you that your order has been put under
        process with order no BAGITTODAY/0GA[protected]. The order value is Rs. 3298 and Order Date is 10-MAR-10.
        Since last week i have been continously calling the toll free number and sendingmails to but till date i have not recieved the Ket infact i have ask to reverse amount but till date no answer from bagittoday.

        Kindly request you to look into this and help me to get my money back.

        A similar problem had occurred with my order also. After contacting bagittoday.com executives it was found that there’d been a problem with the item’s dispatch. Anyhow, the delivery orders were issued again and the problem had been amicably resolved. Well, it took some time and my patience.

          The company has come up as biggest fraud company in India.
          I had ordered 1 Sunglasses from them in oct-2009 but they have not delivered it.
          Now they say..."DO whatever you want to do"

          I request all of you to not to purchase from such fraud sites.

Payment on cradit or dabit card but how i trust on it becouse there is no any contact no or address available please fully satisfied me for that.
          Yeah dont trust on this company as they never send your product..
          Sometimes they say they have delivered and nothing is received on other end

          I had booked Sun Glasses through Bag It Today on 30.03.2011. I paid through my ING Vyasa Internet Banking. Now when i tried to reach Bag It Today for status of my order. The payment has been made and the following transactions were

          I did not receive any email having any other order details. What should i do as Bat It Today is not acknowledging the above fact.

            I did not receive the order even payment of the full amount for swatch watch,
            I get excuses like
            - address wrong
            - we've dispatch, pl wait for some time etc
            its been atleast 4 months.

              I have already given 1 complain about India today on 6th Of March'10,that I have not received my tour package which I booked on 17th Of Jan'10. They sent 1 mail on 7thof March & ask for my credit card statement scan copy which I sent on 8thMarch'10, after that I still didn't get any response from them , how can they do like this with any customer? they don't have any responsibility.

                This was an Email sent by me to their Customer Service Department and they have never responded to this. Please read through and don't trust their Telecallers. I am still awaiting my Order ID[protected]Philips Home Theatre).

                I receieved a call from one of your Telesales Executive Mr. Alok on February 12, 2010 on my Mobile No. [protected] and he offered me a Philips 26" LCD TV for Rs.7498/- (inclusive of Taxes and Delivery charges). Initially i was reluctant to purchase as i refused to believe the Offer, however when i was enquiring details about the LCD TV and the Offer he transferred my Call to the Floor Supervisor Ms. Preeti who repeatedly assured me that India Today Book Club is offering this 26" LCD TV exclusively for esteemed members.The Call was transferred back to Mr. Alok, when i believed and agreed to purchase the LCD TV. Since i was enquiring about the specifications, my call was transferred to the Technical Department and the Call was taken by Mr. Sameer and he assured me again that it is a 26" LCD TV.

                Mr. Sameer and Ms. Preeti had mentioned the Model No. PET 717. However, when i checked the Models online, i could only see a Philips Portable DVD Player and when i mentioned this to Mr. Sameer in his followup call, he mentioned confidently that this Model has been modified and we would be able to see this Model PET 717 with 26" LCD Specifications online from February 18, 2010 and as a promotional offer for members India Today Book Club is offering it at Rs.7498/-. I believed this and also purchased a Philips Home Theatre along with 26" LCD TV.

                I made Credit Card Payments for Rs.7498/- for Order ID[protected] and Rs.7598/- for Order ID[protected]. Please note that they also refused to give me the Order ID after the Payment was through and they mentioned that my Order ID and the Product specifications for Philips 26 Inches LCD TV and the Philips Home Theatre System would be sent by an Auto generated Email within 5 Minutes after i booked the Order. Initially, Mr. Alok & Mr. Sameer had promised me that the Order ID would be given to me once i finish the Credit Card Transaction and after the Transaction, they said that i would receive it in an Email. I could get my Order IDs only after calling up your Helpline No.

                I received a Philips Portable DVD Player along with a Free Reebok Watch instead of Philips 26" LCD TV through Courier and would like to return the Consignment. Please note that i have not received the Philips Home Theatre till date. I would also like to return the Home Theatre (If i receive a Home Theatre) even though it was promised to me because of the "Unethical Sales Practice". I would like to inform you, that i am from International Service Industry and i have been Involved in Sales and Service for the past 10.5 Years. I have always taken strict action on my Employees when i encounter such Unethical Practices.

                I called your Helpline No. today and one Mr. Neeraj Kashyap had suggested me to return the Products and send an Email to this Group address for prompt action. Please note that i would be sending these to your Address mentioned below as suggested by Mr. Neeraj Kashyap.

                I would like to request you to kindly revert the Money paid by me to the Credit Card Account at the earliest along with the Courier Charges borne by me to return this Philips Portable DVD Player and the Philips Home Theatre (If i receive it).

                I have got high regards for your group and appreciate your efforts and would expect your goodself to kindly look into this "Greviance" and take appropriate measures to avoid such cases in future.

                India Today Book Club — non receipt of Philips home theater purchased against offers

                i received promotional offer by ITBC thru irctc site to purchase a Phillips DVD and home theater system worth Rs7598 along with free holiday and a free Reebok wristwatch, which i availed after paying online by SBI card on 08/09/2009. i received an SMS giving the order no as[protected] and an e-mail giving the order no as M-COMMERCE / 0GA[protected]. for any queries, i was asked to contact [protected]. After somedays, i recevied another printed form to join the sweepstakes for Rs 800000 and a promotinal offer to purchase a discounted "History of the World". i sent the filled up form for the sweepstakes only. Almost a month has passed without any further communication regarding my merchandise and nobody is available to provide assistence on the given phone number. Kindly assist as this matter is causing me great mental hardship and i have vowed never to make any more online purchases.

                Indiatoday book club/Phillips DVD player with Home theater system — Non receipt of Items after making payments by card

                I have purchased Phillips DVD player with HomeTheater system for Rs: 7589.00 on promotional offers by Indiatoday book club, Delhi. Payments of above itmes has been made and confirmation of Payments received has been made . Company has provided IVR No :[protected] on 26th Jan 10. Mail for non receipt of above items has been send and reply says its under process.

                Till date no information has been provoded when the Items purchased will be delivered at my adress already given while booking the item.

                I booked one philips home theatore & dvd play er by paying Rs. 7500 from last 3 November 2009 but still waiting for the delivery of the items.
                I requested many times for the same and number of times committed by the representative that they sending this week . but already year passed

                so please don't booked any order from the INDIA TODAY BOOK CLUB.

                  I am Ajit Thanekar from Kolhapur city of Maharashtra.In the month of October I got a phone call from aTele calling service regarding Holiday Package from Living Media India Limited.The person calling kept my follow up for at least a week as I didn't have a Credit Card.Lastly he gave me an option of paying by cheque and gave me an account number.So I deposited an account payee cheque of JANATA SAHAKARI BANK LTD. PUNE, branch Kolhapur(Ch.No.307107) amounting Rs.3198/- in the local branch of Axis Bank on the account no.[protected] and bearing the name of LIVING MEDIA (I) LTD. on 24/10/2009.The same has been cleared from my account on27/10/09.When I deposited the cheque in the bank the person who was taking my follow up(as he was calling 2 to 4 times a day) gave me booking ID as[protected]. I repeatedly asked him about where to contact in case of any difficulty but he didn't tell anything in that regard, neither a phone number nor an E-mail ID & kept on telling that I'll receive communication from the company.

                  For last 6 months I had not received any kind of communication from your group. Instead I got another call for a package of 5000 odd rupees. When I received that call I asked the person about this case but he can't give me satisfactory answer. Now I am doubtful that all the calling, follow up and booking ID was a fake setup on your name and I am taking legal opinion about launching a complaint of fraud in local Police Station. But before that I thought to contact any responsible person from the company and I sent mails to all those email ids in `Contact Us' list of the official website of the group.But still there is no communication from the company.

                  i have not received any free holiday package from india today book club against my order no oga[protected]
                  you are making fool out of me but let me remind you that one day will come when your company will go to jahhanuum as a result of this type of modus operandi.
                  I am also facing same problem.The correspondence is going on with them

                  At the time of taking scheme from India today book club they promise me to give free holiday gift voucher.but till date no any gift voucher comes to me.
                  I also was debited some money for wrist watch, diamond jewelry and laptop, on[protected] through my credit card. but nothing was received till date.Is this company cheating us?
                  At that time the agent told me that i would get the product within 15 days!
                  We have purchased a Reebok kit recently (Reg. No:[protected] and as the days passed on we got a call from u people saying that that we are eligible for a lucky draw where only 5members got selected from this and we are 1 among them. It’s a compulsory free gift of amount 10, 000 Rs minimum and the 1st person elected for the draw will be awarded 12, 00, 000 Rs and 2nd person will be awarded 8, 00, 000, the 3rd person gets 4.00, 000, 4th gets 1, 00, 000 Rs and 5th gets 10, 000 Rs as a compulsory prize. They said that we need to purchase 10, 000Rs items from India today for this draw. We have ordered a Spice Mobile worth Rs 5993 (Reg. No:[protected]. Next day we got another call saying that u have been selected for a lucky draw of 25000rs and only five members have been selected for this and we need to buy 1 more item for this getting registered in this draw. So we have ordered a Microwave Woven (Reg. No:[protected] worth Rs 7093. Again we got a call saying that we have been selected for another lucky draw where 1, 00, 000 Rs is the compulsory free gift amount.
                  We had a doubt regarding this and we called to the customer care saying all the above information mentioned. They said there is no such offer from us and all the members are eligible for the lucky draw and there is no compulsory that u get the amount and the members are not restricted to five. I always used to record the calls that I receive and I did the same when u people called us. I have the entire proofs that India Today is making People a big fool for making money. I also told that I want to cancel the microwave Woven that I have ordered. They have given me a email Id and said “give the information of the order that u have purchased and registration number and specify that cancel the order “and u people receive mail from us as soon as possible regarding your cancellation for the purchase and the amount will be returned back within 21days. Till now we didn’t get any mail from you.

                  We again received a call from u people saying that there is another offer. I just said give me a written statement in the form of mail regarding your offer. Immediately the call has been disconnected.

                  I just want to know why you people are providing fraud information. If the information is correct why can’t you people send us a mail?                     Holiday Voucher No.ITBC 9446 - Memberhip No. ITBC[protected] I had to contact bigcity promotions for getting the holiday against the said holiday voucher. After bigcity confirm it, I have to send a draft for Rs.800/- for getting the holiday. However, there has been no confirmation from bigcity inspite of me sending them the prescribed for with all the details. I have been complaining since October 2009 but to no avail. I had spoken to Kunal Shah of Indiatoday and also sent the mail to him but to no avail.

                      I booked Agatha Christy DVDs along with free gifts assured of REBOCK shoes and Free HOLIDAY Voucher through order no OGA[protected]. in October 2008.
                      I recieved DVD set of same on 3.12.2008 but still didn't recieve any free gifts.
                      I also mentioned the details of free gifts.
                      I send massage to ITBC regarding non reciepent of free gifts but they asked me to book my free gifts on their website. I tried to open the site hich is not opening.
                      They send me mail but as nothing more.

The same was brought to their notice and I was advised to log in after 48 hours. Even after 48 hours despite of several attempts the result IS the same. I sent several mails to them including to their executives in this regard but I didn't hear any response from them. They are deceiving the members by prompting gifts offers.

                        I got an offer from india today book club with free air ticker and 2nights-3days stay, last year. as per the instuctions i filled the form and posted to their agency in bangalore(premier promotions). after that no reply from anybody. up to that i used to receive emails regarding shopping from india today, but after this there is no emails. and when ever i tried to mail them, it says unknown user. I think with the brand name "India Today" these people are really cheating.

The parcel (No:1/120493) found in good state of condition when I opened the parcel the free asured gift Bennetton wrist watch was not found inside the conatiner.If the parcel was in tampered or mutialated condition I might have not been recieved the parcel.I was shocked and surprised.                           India Today — delivery of 3 year gift

                          i had not received my 3 year subscription gift from past 9 months as i subscribed in september 2007, the india today customer care kept telling me all the while that the gift will be delivered when my 12 weeks are over my subscription, now there liars just sent me an email saying they have delivered my gift sometime in the past in March 2008 though when i sent an email in April 08 and then again in May 08 they told me that they will deliver the gift after 12 weeks are over, this is so frusturating, i wish i could get the email address of Scientific american american branch and let them now what a scam these people are running and
                          the quality of delivery is pathetic, every month after 8th i should remind by sending an email to send me the magazine,

                          i made a pathetic mistake by subscribing to the India today group, i wish i had know that these office still are in the 2oth century where they thought that customer service means to sleep in office for 8 hours and then go home, pathetic india today staff.

                          Scientific America India — Non Receipt of Monthly Issue of Scientific America India

                          I subscribed for a monthly magazine "Scientific America India" in Dec-2007, for three years. Since then I'm struggling with the company for non-delivery of the issues, almost every alternate month. I'm communicating with Ms Sapna, Mr Abhijit, Shrey Sharma, Senthil kumar of customer care departments and call centre.
                          Everytime I had been promissed to rectify the gap/fault in future, but none of them could do so. The annoying thing is, Abhijit is recently communicating and was asking for my contact details, even though those are submitted while opting subscription, communicated in one of the on 17-Sep-08, and recently on 12-May-09. This fellow seems have not read the mail details and replied in standard automated/stereotype/customer-care fashion.

                          Due to this nonsence created by India Today, I wish to opt out from the subscription and demand refund of my entire amount, at the earliest.

                            Following are the mails I sent to ITBC and they are not at all replying back to me. DO not believe in ITBC telesales guys and that to be if you are getting calls from[protected] because the guys who calls from this number of ITBC always tell lies and cheat.



                            This is ridiculous and pathetic customer service by ITBC. Its been 7 days i have sent mail and i have not got a single reply from any of the IDs. Is this the way you treat your consumer then why are you showing that you guys are best in consumer satisfaction. I had a very good image about ITBC which I lost now. Even though your telesales guy cheated me I thought it's not the fault of ITBC but its the fault of only sales guy now I understand that whole team of ITBC are involved in cheating the customer. I am going to post this in all the internet sites, because i need solution for this or at least a sorry from that telesales guy and now also from ITBC. I have lost hope on you guys and I think its better to knock consumer complaint cell or court for this.

They sent me the voucher after 1.5 months and from then I am trying to book the package but all in vain, as the destination I select will show as full and it also showing me that my last date for the booking is on March 12th which was surprise for me as i had received the voucher only in the month of September'09.

                            When I had got call from ITBC they had told me that package will be valid for 9 months and now it's ending within 7 months as I had got voucher only in sept'09. Also the number on the website is o[censored]K and I was not been informed earlier and also hotels are actually only studio apartments which was also not informed earlier. The website of resort-store was given to book the package is pathetic as it always shows all the destination as full even if I tried to book 1 month before.

                            2) So after frustration I left this package holiday and stopped trying to book and thought I lost Rs. 5943 by trusting ITBC

                            3) But on 12th Feb 2010 @ 1 p.m. I got a call from +[protected] from one of your executive or telesales guy stating that as I had not booked the package he will help me out in booking the package and infact he told all my details correctly. Then i told him to book @ Kodaikanal for 3 nights from 11th March 2010 to 13th March 2010 and he even confirmed me that it has been booked and I will get booked voucher in my mail ID and also within 5 days courier will reach me.

                            Then he told me that as I am already a member there is one exciting offer for me as ITBC is celebrating its 25th anniversery on that date and he gave me offer of 1) Philips 7" Portable DVD player & screen for Rs. 7498 2) Philips Home Theatre System with DVD player and watch and holiday package for Rs. 7598 3) Samsung phone for Rs. 12,000 4) Kodak Camera set for Rs. 9498. He told me that if I buy any one of these then I will get Rs. 50,000 worth jewelery voucher free and I confirmed with for more than 5 times about this and he stick to it that it is for Rs. 50,000

                            Hence I booked 1) Philips Home Theatre system set & 2) Kodak Camera and both out together i invested Rs. 17,000 from my pocket because I was told that I will getting Rs. 1,00,000 Jewelery gift voucher and I can shop it in any leading Jewelery shop. Also he gave me 4 voucher number each worth Rs. 25,000 by using which I can shop from www.bookclub.suratdiamond.com. Also he told me that as I had taken to packages i am entitled for a lucky draw in which there is assured gift of Apple Laptop/Mont Blanc pen set/Longines watch and that is when i took Kodak camera set.

                            The Jewelery Voucher numbers are
                            1) IB[protected] Rs. 25,000 - Fake number

                            3) IB[protected] Rs. 25,000
                            4) IB[protected] Rs. 25,000

                            But after booking when i checked the first two number are invalid and last two numbers are for Rs. 5000 only and not for Rs. 25,000 that means your executive has cheated me by giving those false codes and also by saying that I will be getting Rs. 1,00,000 Jewelery voucher wherein now I am entitled for only Rs. 10,000. Also after placing the order he didn't gave me the booking no or order no and told me that I will get the SMS which I never got.

                            Yesterday I got Kodak camera set but with different membership no ( ITBC[protected] and still i haven't got home theatre set and for which when i called today to your customer care center No. +[protected] he told me that Home theatre will reach in 7 to 10 days with only Rs. 5000 Jewelery gift voucher and he gave me order no as 44002313 and for this order my mebership no is same as my earlier holiday package number.
                            Also i came to know that my earlier holiday package of 7 nights/8 days for which your executive had booked me in Kodaikanal has not happened and instead he gave me Bangalore's number for the booking purpose.

                            Now kindly let me know what I have to do because

                            1) You guys didn't gave me proper details on the holiday package like how to book and all
                            2) When i had left the hope your executive cheated me by giving me false information like he had booked my holiday pacakge, that I will get Jewelery voucher worth Rs. 1,00,000, he gave me false codes, also gave false information on lucky draw of laptop.

                            I am a poor guy and my daily life depends on y small savings. I booked your package because I thought it's a good deal and now then when I had lost hope on it and thought that i lost my money again your executive called me and cheated me of my Rs. 17,000 which i took because of Rs. 1,00,000 jewelery voucher.

                            So as you can see list of your false promises, cheating and fraud cases now please kindly do me a favour. I don't want your holiday package...i dont want to book it. And I will send the Kodak Camers set back to you and also cancel my Philips Home Theater system set.

                            Out of this please PAY BACK MY MONEY for kodak camera and Philips home theater system which will come to Rs. 17,000 both put together.

                            And for sure cancel all my membership as i dont think it is worth to be a member of such a company where your executives cheat the customer.

                            I bought Samsung HTZ 425 home theatre system on the promise of Samsung that it was wireless ready and the wireless module was available. I have been following up with them at all possible levels to get the wireless module, no body in the company has any knowledge about it. I feel cheated by the company.

                            Their Salesman also promised Free Gift Coupen of Jewellery worth Rs. 25000/- with Home Theatre and Rs. 1000000/- with Samsung Mobile as we were in the final Lucky Draw where everyone of 10 contestants will be given gifts which included Cash Prize of Rs. 50, 000 to 200000, Laptop, Diamond Jewellery, etc. But the Company slept only after sending Kodak Camera and Samsung Mobile. There is no reply to Mobile No. given by the Salesman.

                            India Today Book Club — False commitments...Cheating

                            I got a call from Ms Shoma from ITBC (Phone numbers[protected] &[protected] on 25.03.10 and she informed me that my name has been selected for "Sweepstakes" and I have been nominated for Top five prizes, the result of which will be declared on 30th April, 2010. She gave me following options to buy:

                            Kodak Digital Camera (Rs. 7598/-)
                            Philips Home Theatre System (Rs 7598/-)
                            Samsung Star Superb S 5560 phone (Rs. 12498/-)
                            HTC 3G Touch Phone (Rs. 19498/-)

                            She further told me that in case I purchase one more item from ITBC, I'll be given one assured gift cheque of 10,000/- of ICICI Bank. I told her to confirm this on mail to me but she told that the scheme is going to close by 12.30 pm on that day and mail will be sent in the evening.

                            So, on basis of her verbal assurance, I made a payment of Rs 7598/- for Philips Home Theater+DVD player. Booking ID is[protected].

                            After that I got no mail from ITBC regarding the deal offered.

                            The very next day, I got call from another executive of ITBC. He offered that if I purchase Blackberry Bold Phone worth Rs 29999/- from ITBC then I'll be given Assured Gift cheque of 20,000/- Rs. I asked if he can confirm this through mail but he denied. I told him that even if I get a confirmation mail regarding the previous purchase of Philips Home Theatre and assured cheque of 10,000/- Rs., I'll buy the Blackberry phone from him. I told him to confirm regarding the previous deal offered by Ms Shoma and he confirmed that the deal was actual and there is no hidden fact. He also told me that the complete name of Ms Shoma is Ms Shoma Bose.

                            Then I called up ITBC Helpline and spoke with Ms Ramnik to check the staus as no mail was recieved by me as committed by Ms Shoma. To my utter dismay, she told me that there is no assured cheque of 10,000/-.(Complaint no.- 431549)

                            I have trusted Ms Shoma just because of the fact that name of "India Today" is there but this is cheating on part of ITBC executives. It is a very wrong practise to lure customers.

                            Also, holiday voucher was promised and was mentioned on its website that was never given.

                            I have been sending mails to them since March 2010 but now even the auto replies have stopped.

                            ITBC seems to be club of cheaters and they lure people by making false committments. PLEASE AVOID PURCHASING ANY PRODUCT FROM INDIA TODAY BOOK CLUB.

                              I am from Tamilnadu and I have ordered a camera through India today book club for Rs 5298/- on 17 nov 2009 wide order booking ID[protected] but so far i did not receive the same. I have send almost 60 mails to them and made around 25 std calls but no one from ITBC is responding properly. I have requested them to cancel my order ,but they say the order has been fully processed from their end andcamera has been dispatched through dart mail on 20 nov 09 but so far i did not receive the same. When ever i inquire through phone they say "wait for some time and we have forwarded this complaint to concerned department" and almost 90 days passed still they could not solve the problem. This company is really cheating the public, so awareness to be created in the internet and media. The response by the employees also poor. Please help/guide me to get the camera or money which i have paid to them. Approximately i have spend 2000/- rupees for STD calls.

                              I had ordered a package of Encyclopedia Britanica from Living Media India Limited (India Today) in response to the advertisement that came to my mailbox. The advertisement clearly said that I would receive a gift voucher of Rs. 5000/- from Surat Diamonds and a free Tupperware set. However on receipt of the order there is a gift voucher stating that I can claim my free air ticket and an adidas bag by logging on to http://offers.indiatodaybookclub.com/greatoffers.htm

                              I have been trying to log on to the site, there is either no such site or it does not open. I wrote a mail to the email address given on the delivery note requesting an explanation. I haven't reveived any response.

                              I would kindly request you to advise me on the further course of action that I can take.

                              I had ordered CDs under an offer scheme where free gift of Addidas Bag was promised. I paid for the order but the free gift never arrived. I sent more than 10 reminders to India Today Book Club but they are not replying. It looks very fishy - if they dont want to send the gift let them tell the customer.                               Hi, I have also earlier paid annual subscription for reader digest through credit card and not got magazines for past 2-3 months.
                              2. India Today offer came 2-3 months back I ordered & made payment throught credit card the CD/DVD with free gifit of some diamond jewllery etc but it did not reach.
                              3. again day before yesterday i got urgent envelop of sweepstake certificate with assurance of free holiday package for 27 destination, where in maximum desitnation hill palces or beach destination are not applicable. I paid through my creidt card number to deduct Rs.499 to send book of my choaice and not of theri choice just to get chance of win Sweepstake .
                              I am not aware is this India Today Book Club are genuine or bluff, since so many complaints i could read on Complanint Board about people sufering and loosing their hard earned money on it.
                              They should improve their working process and should go for ISO9000 Quality certification to reduce customer complaints and improve processes.

                              India Today Book Club — NON-RECEIPT OF ORDER BOOK

                              MY MEMB.NO.ITBCO[protected] with India Today Book Club. I had filled in the Membeship/Order Form of BooksToday for three Books and forwarded to India Today Book Club in April, 2008. There were no response for my e-mail follow-ups, but I came to know from my Bank that they have debited the amount for the books from my credit Card on 1st July, 2008. I just received a confirmation of the same, after several follow-ups with an assurance that they will intimate me the despatch status. When I checked up over phone on 5th, their rep informed me that two out of three books (as one book is out of stock) were despatched through courier from Delhi to Bombay (my address) through Blue Dart Courier on 2nd August. Normally, it should reach next day, at least on 4th Aug. The Consignment Note No. provided by them is also seemed to be wrong. There seems to be a severe lack of communication with India Today within themselves and with their customers. According to them, I have to adjust the money debited by them for the out-of-stock-book, they had already charged from me, with my future orders. I do not know how can I claim the said amount as I have no plans to continue any relation with this bookclub
                              I also had the same type of experience. If we paid early, then they will not ship the books

                              I had purchased a set of 4 CD's on Indian classical music and I was supposed to get a free gift from them thru online registration. But to my dismay the online regn is not possible as bcos the websit egiven does not exist. This is the case with so many other subscribers as can be seen when that site is looked into.
                              They have duped me. I need help.
                              I also had a similar experience after I purchased a set of 8 CDs on encyclopedia, nature, and similar other subjects from India Today Book club that offered free holiday voucher, but when i went to the relevant site and filled in the requested numbers, nothing came of it.                               I received a pack of 3 CD's without ordering it by VPP and since I was not home, my mother paid the postman and collected the same thinking I had ordered it. I had become a member of the book club around 2 years back, thinking it would a great thing as I used to buy a lot of books. I'm also a crosswords member and many other book club member, they all work extremely professionally and satisfactorily.

                              But this decision was probably one of the worst decisions, because that is how they got my address and details, and from then onwards it has been a charade of mails and BOGUS offers.

                              WHOEVER RUNS THIS COMPANY IS A CROOK AND SHOULD BE PUT BEHIND BARS. He is trying to fool the public at large by running bogus schemes which will never be rewarded. The latest they have contacted me for is a sweepstakes claim...all their offers have been bogus till now, now this one has a grand prize money of Rs. 60 laks, (yeah right), I wonder how many unsuspecting consumers have fallen for this fraudulent scheme.

                              Their free gifts have only been gifts on paper, as you can see from the other complaints on this site. So would be this lottery...!

                              India Today — Non Receipt of free gift promised during subscription

                              I had Subscribed for India Today megazine during one of their sales promotion campain in the month of March 2008. My Sub. No. ITE 1849550, Case ID 2221416
                              During the offer they had promised 3 valuable free gifts within 8-10 weeks of subcribing. I started getting the megazine, but when I did not get free gift after 8-10 weeks, I sent them mail reminder on 9.08.08. I received a reply saying that the gift was delayed due to some procedural problems & the same will be sent within 3-4 weeks. But after this period again the same story was repeated when I sent them a reminder II on 27.11.08. I was promised to receive the gift within 2-3 weeks. But I haven't received the gift till today.
                              Kindly follow up the same & also pl. advise whether I can go in consumer court & MRTP commission against malpractices being adopted by the company.

Instead the Invoice mentions that to claim the free holiday voucher gift we have to log on to www.bookstoday.in/promos.htm within 60days of the invoice date but to my surprise the said site does not exist. When the remittance was already credited to India Today Book Club, why the Holiday Voucher and watch . In this scenario, if you are not able to log on to the site, one is sure to loose the holiday voucher. There are already 638 complaints against this company. Has the company ever thought how this in turn going to affect the reputation of the company? It's one kind of cheating.

                              I have ordered 20 CD pack for Rs 2599/- on 31st January 2009 via order no 0GA[protected], The product contains 20 spritual CDs + (free one holiday package+free round tip air ticket and one free reebok shoe if paid through credit card ) I have paid the amount through my credit card via IVRS on the same day. After great struggle and severe follow up I received partial order on 18/05/09 after 03 months. But till now I have not received free reebok shoe, many times I called customer care but I am disappointed by the answers provided as they are telling some times stock is not there and some times there is no shoe with this order and some times due to technical problems it has not dispatched. I think there is no proper records to them and no interest in customer satisfaction only interested to get money. if we order on COD they are delevering prompltly and fully. If it's prepaid finished we (Customers) has to die to get the order.
                              I have purchased LCD tv from CROMA Surat. i feel there is no proper insttalation done by your technician. No. of complain given but there is no any reply given from your side. this type of service spoil your brand image in our mind.

                              India Today Book Club — Take payments but not given Classical Music CDs

                              Last year, I had sent Rs. 2000 to India Today Book Club when they evinced interrest in me with their promise of classical music CDs and gift vouchers for travel and also lucky draw in which the winnner will get huge amounts of money (the bait that I fell prey to as I am a person with family but not enough money, doing casual jobs, somehow maintaining the facade of a lower-middle class fellow but alway fear of falling into the ranks of the wretcheds) . I paid the money by cheque and my bank passbook shows that they have encahsed the cheque. BUT I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANYTHING IN RETURN. THEY DID NOT SEND ME THE CLASSICAL MUSIC CDS. THEY DID NOT SEND ME ANY VOUNCHERS. AND NOTHING WAS HEARD OF ANY LUCK DRAW HELD BY THEM.

                              I tried to contact them though telephone but it was always difficult to get through as that number alway tell you to wait for their customer-care fellow. In the process I lost a lot of call time and value of my mobile.

                              Ater they encashed my cheque, they stopped any communication with me. Before that and from the day I had ordered, thorugh web, for some educaitonal CDs whcih they did sent to me along with an airbag as a gift, they used to send me various offers through post. But now they are pestering me every day by sending text messages on my mobile to sell sundry and various products.



                              Being a book lvoer, I had though they are only interested in reaching books and CDs to the people, but these people are really Banias out to sell all stuff.

                              Received books for Rs.3198/- from India Today Book Club, Delhi around 1 and 1/2 months back. This was coupled with following offer:

                              Despite repeated reminder emails (five to be precise, over eight months) for the same and telephonic complaints,nothing has been done so far.The reply is always that there is no stock of the gift and would take 2 -3 weeks for delivery.

                              Now,even the renewed subscription is coming to a close,but there is no signs of the gift.
                              It is surprising that a prompt letter for renewal has been sent now,when the first issue itself is not solved!

                              SHAMEFUL and IRRESPONSIBLE is what I can say about your attitude.

                              I would like to reiterate that your so called "wecare" services reflect only the contrary.I hope atleast this mail would bring some sense in your marketing.

                                I have made an online purchase on 1st Sep, 2009 for an amount Rs.574/-. After repeatedly followups with the Indiatoday cusotmer care they have sent me mail stating that the delivery will be done with in a short time. Now it is 21st Feb, 2010 and when i called the people on[protected] and checked about the satus they have no answer to my question and says "We have forwarded your request to concern department and they will get back to you" .

                                When I told them that i will get this Issue printed in News paper then, the executive says "OKAY". What does this mean. We understand that these sites are not trust worthy but, some times we feel getting an offers with great discount will definetly make sense for saving money. We reqeust that any of the concern depart should take initiave and do the necessary action with immediate effect and get back our money back.

                                India Today Book Club — Product not in list sent

                                I had booked an order on India Today Book Club for the United Club of Benetton Style Kit which included UCB Watch, UCB Sunglasses, UCB Collared T-shirt (XXL in this case), UCB Cap & UCB Belt for Rs. 2, 198/- on May 6, 2009 in response to their mail sent to me. I was aksed to confirm the order via an SMS To 52424 which was duely done. They inturn confirmed the order to me and said it would take about 2-3 weeks for it to reach me. I received the packet in about 10 days time and on upon opening up the parcel to my utter surprise, instead of the T-shirt they very coolly sent me a Messenger Bag which is of no use to me.

                                I called up their call center no. (STD) and the agent tells me there's no T-shirt in the Benetton Style Kit that you have order. This goes on to show how the ITBC & UCB are fooling people by clearing of the stocks of the unwanted things they have in their inventory.

                                I warn all people not to order anything on India Today Book Club and moreso if it is the Benetton Style Kit.

                                India Today Book Club — Not received my order ,paid 2 months before

                                I ordered Reebok Tracksuit-small in a offer sent by India Today Book Club(ITBC) two months before.I paid through credit card of My friend, total of Rs848.00 including all charges as mentioned my ITBC.Payment processed, they acknowledged told me to wait for some days .My order no. was-0GA[protected].After some days, they mailed that I have returned the order, how ever they were resending this.But actually this type of incidence was not happened.This fact is around one and half months back.after that I have communicated several times with them, every time getting a nice apology letter.Please suggest me what to do?

                                ITBC — Wrong information given, and cheating

                                As is with telesales, after innumerable calls stating that by paying merely Rs 2598/-(and no additional taxes whatsoever) we opted for the books today offer of purchasing books for a free gift of holiday package and return airtickets. After confirmation, very rudely we were told that we should have known that taxes are to be paid by us. We wanted to cancel the order and sent umpteen number of mails only to find that the order was not cancelled and the package arrives at our doorstep.

                                Now we want to avail the free gifts without paying any taxes as we were told first, or else, we wamt our money back.
                                Kindly resolve this as soon.as possible since we have already paid money and spent lots on phone calls and the tension to addon .

                                We want to be compensated for the mental tension we have been through. No one from the customer care replies to our query.No senior official of the concerned department cared to answer our mails or calls.

                                India Today Book Club — Product Delivered without mentioned components

                                Dear Sir,
                                On 13th August I got a call from India Today Book Club executive regarding a KODAK C-180 Camera being sold with a discount, the offer was the camera worth around Rs. 8000 being sold at Rs. 5298 only with other gifts as Holiday voucher and air tickets for 2.
                                I recieved the product on 31st August, THe invoice no. is ORB[protected], my order no. is 0GB[protected].
                                The product has been recieved in good condition. But on the pack of the Camera (Kodak company pack) it is clearly written that this camera comes with a 2GB memory card, Battery Charger, AV vable and Camera pouch. I did not find any of these things in the pack recieved from India Today Book Club.
                                This morning, the very next day, I called up India Today Book Club help line, the executive says we are not going to provide you the above mentioned four things. When I asked him that when i have paid in advance for the totals things, why are not providing these things, the executive was not in a position to tell me the answer. He says that the company has nto given them these things, if that be so, then why it is written on the pack of the product. India Today Book Club executive's seems to be of an irritated person.

                                For last 3 months ITBC have been following the same cheating. How long a person can wait for a product?

                                Why ITBC cheating its customers. I would like to strongly recommend that services ITBC should ban by Indian Government.

On checking with customer care about the status of the order, they are saying the person who had called for collecting order has given wrong information and there is no scheme like this. They are just fooling the people to collect the order.

                                India Today group asked me to buy some products so as to avail prices. I purchased a whirlpoor RO waterpurifier and it cost me around 16000. They further asked me to purchase another product and I purchased HTC mobile costing around 16000. Having done these two purchases using credit card, they told me over mobile that I have won prized worth 2.2 lakhs. I will get a reebok watch worth 20,000 and two lakhs in gift vouchaer to be redeemed from Surat Diamon.com.

                                Till date I have not received the Whirlpool RO nor the HTC mobile nor the Reebok watch. Further, I am not able to access www.suratdiamond.comindiatodaybookclub which is the site to claim my gifts. I have spent close to 38,000 and am left with two confidential numbers.

                                indiatodaybookclub — Unwanted items

                                On 11/8/2010 a man from Indiatoday bookclub called me and informed about an offer. ie. Purchasing a Samsung handicam. He called me again on 12/8/2010morning for getting my confirmation for ordering the same. It was informed that by paying Rs. 15998/- I will get the Samsung handicam along with three free gifts of Philips home theatre, Rs. 7000/- ticket voucher and Rs. 20000/- worth gift voucher from surat diamonds. But later so many people called me for confirmation of my credit card number as well as the verification details. Once the process is complete the man initially called me and said that I have ordered three products from him. I said I have ordered only the handicam. After that I got four messages in my mobile informing the deduction of four amounts such as Rs. 17699/-(two times), Rs. 14749/- and Rs. 15998/-. This matter was informed through the customercare and they asked me to give the authorisation code of transaction made along with the statement of credit card. I managed to get the unbilled transaction of my credit card and send it to them via email. Now it is informed that since the despatch has already made it is not possible to revert the amount to by creidt card bank. I have pointed out this matter on the same day itself to the fellow who called me initially. I don't know which all products are they going to sell. Hence I understand that these types of cheating is a habit of some people and I think these things are happening with the silent approval of India Today Bookclub.
                                No answers. You accept to commit this fraud.

                                  India Today has not kept promises of "Free Holiday & Free Round Air Trip'.
                                  My India Today membership No. is ITBC09147499.
                                  I received a SMS of offer of "Free round Air Trp & Free Holiday for family" on purchase of a Kodax Camera. Terms & Conditions were not revealed. Also it was not revealed that there would be a long procedure with no. of loop holes for aquiring offered gifts.

                                  I made the payment by credit card for Camera : Order No. OGB[protected].
                                  I received the Camera without 'Pouch & 2 GB memory card', which are standard accessories for the same.vide Invoice no.ORB[protected].

                                  For claiming my free gifts, I logged in to ITBC site & found that with given code no. I was to log in on other site of "bigcity.com". This site altogether refused the code no. given for 'Free Holiday". Obviously a totally wrong & misleading code no. was given by ITBC to me. Although "air trip code was accepted, I was to fill up the form & send it by "normal Post"!, (No Courier or RPAD allowed) which is altogether dubious since they can refuse receipt of form any moment, I have filled the form & sent to "premier Sales Promotion' as directed, but not received any answer even after one & half months from them.
                                  For getting proper code no. for Free Holidays, I have contacted ITBC 3-4 times, but get a automated reply of " we have forwarded your message to concerned department & you will get reply from them."
                                  So far no reply is received form ITBC. It seems that they do not wish to look into & solve this matter by offering me promised free gifts.
                                  ITBC should keep their promises & provide me "free Holidys & Free Round Air Trip" as promised. Also they should send me 'Standard accessories" of the camera as mentioned on the box of that camera, since those accessoies themselves are worth more than Rs. 1000/-

                                    India Today Book Club , New Delhi — Denial of free gifts assured with purchases

                                    India Today Book Club use to call me at my mobile (0-[protected]) and offer products for purchase (tele shopping) wiih asured free gifts and entry to a prize draw.A unique number is provided in the invoice received with the products which has to be activated on its web site and take a print out of the gift vouchers which is used to claim gifts. The unique no provided is being rejected by the web site.I send an email regarding it. I received a reply that my no. was not activated by mistake and it is being activated and I was requested to try after 24 hours. When I tried again ; the unique no. was rejected again. I send an email again. Today (26/12/09) I received a reply that there is no free gifts.

                                      Dear Sir, on 30th Jun a female executive from bagittoday (India today group)has called me and informed me that I have won a diamond voucher for Rs. 100000/- to get the voucher I have to make a purchase for at least Rs. 17000/-. So I order a samsung LCD TV from the option she explained to me. I made the payment of Rs. 17699/- towards TV cost and Rs. 598/- towards handling charges., both the payment was made from my HDFC credit card for which I also have the authentication details. They suppose to deliver the item with in 15 days but after the transaction when ever I called the customer care number i.e[protected] they says there is no details available about my transaction. My order number was[protected] dated 30 Jul 2010. Kindly do needful to me.

                                        I got a telephone call from India today on 28.01.10 regarding their offer as follows and booked me for the both

                                        COMPALINT NO:1

                                        Philips DVD Player and home theatre forRs.7598 (they have committed me DVD player model 2200 it contains Memory card drive and pen drive option, with 5 no's of speakers) and for this they have committed to give me a diamond voucher worth Rs.15000 redeem it anywhere in India, Reebok watch and 2days three nights free stay in five star hotel anywhere in India.

                                        They have sent me a DVD Player model 3316/3146, there is no provision for memory card drive and pen drive and home theatre along with Reebok watch. And they have sent a unique number in their invoice(ORA[protected] DT: 28.01.10) to avail free offers by logging on their website for the same. After I enter their website and found there is no voucher for Diamond. And i am also noticed free stay hotel list in India that is not valid for five star rating.

                                        COMPLAINT NO:2

                                        Free Air Ticket for up and down from anywhere in India for Rs.3198 (they are offering me 9 best selling magazines, 6 cd ROMs and 2days 3 nights free stay in five star hotel anywhere in India)


                                        They have sent me a 9 books 6 cd ROMs along with book names in their invoice (ORA[protected] DT: 28.01.10), but the 2 books (No: 1. how to get from where you are to where you want to be. No: 2. Scoop) are differ from their invoice and that two books are same (Blink author Malcolm Gladwell)
                                        And they have sent a unique number in their invoice to avail free offers by logging on their website for the same. After i enter their website and found there is no voucher for Diamond. And i am also noticed free stay hotel list in India that is not valid for five star rating.

                                        India Today Book Club — ITBC cheated me

                                        I am surprised at the way a reputed publication house like the India Today group has resorted to cheating people in the name of "fabulous offers" and "free gifts".

                                        I fell into this trap myself on April 29, 2009, when I ordered two Benetton watches for Rs 998. I paid through credit card (Order number - 0GA[protected] and received a parcel 3 weeks later. To my shock and utter disbelief, the perfectly wrapped package had just one watch instead of two. I repeat, the package had not been tampered with, so the postal department can't be blamed. I immediately called up the customer helpline number and my call was answered by a Mr Lalit who assured me that there was an error on the part of the packaging and handling department and that the issue will be resolved right away and the parcel will arrive within the next 10 to 15 days. He sounded like it was a common phenomenon and there was nothing abnormal about it. He gave me a reference number - 109115 (he called it the request number to despatch order). Since then I have written to the [protected]@indiatodaybookclub.com address several times and my emails were answered by Mr Kuldeep Singh who repeated the exact same words in all the mails: "...we have forwarded your complain[t] to our concern[ed] department, they will do [the] needful (sic) for you as soon as possible." It has been a month and a half since I placed my order and almost a month since I received the incomplete parcel, I wonder how soon is "as soon as possible" for them. After reading the others complaints listed on this site, I don't think I should expect it to ever arrive.

                                        I know that duping people through the Internet is not a new phenomenon, but usually they come as obvious spam mails from unknown people. One certainly can't associate the India Today group with this kind of fraudulent activities. I noticed that there are 235 pages on this site alone that are full of similar complaints. The list of people duped by the ITBC seems endless. It's about time that they are stopped.

                                        I have bought a sun glass of reebok from India Today Book Club. At the time of purchase i was told that i will be getting the Holiday Package totally Free. But with the product I have not got any free voucher. Thereafter I have contacted the ITBC for detail. Good the information that I have to Claim from their WEB with Some number. Which was not their in my Invoice. After waiting for some time i got that no.

                                        When i went to the web page to get my gift a long procedure was written with at least 2 time post communication has to be done. But the surprisingly for the free gift they have asked to me to Pay Rs. 800 by DD as service charge. I don't know how its free when we have to pay Rs. 800

                                        Moreover it was mentioned that if after booking if canceled we have to Pay Rs. 2000 to 4000 as charges for cancel by way of debit or credit card.

                                        This means that once we pay Rs. 800 for booking they will again rob us in the name of free asking more money to be paid for some XYZ charges. This is clearly a cheating because before booking the product it was clearly mentioned by customer care person that no additional charges is required to be paid.

                                        Kindly some one please guide me how to go for consumer court against such malpractice done by one of well known business house in media

                                        INDIA TODAY BOOK CLUB — CHEATED OF SUBSCRIPTION GIFT

                                        I applied for membership Dec 08 & paid membership fess of Rs.299. My instruction was Webster Concise Edition Enclclopedia to be delivered as the subscription gift. gift. What I received on 15th Dec 08, was Collins Cobuild English Dictionary- that I had NOT asked for.

                                        I started my communication with INDIA TODAY BOOK CLUB (ITBC) since 15th Dec 08. Initially I was advised Webster Concise Edition Enclclopedia was expected in 2-3 months & would be forwarded as soon as available. Later on 3rd Jun 09, I was notified Webster Concise Edition Enclclopedia was permanently out of stock. Finally I on 16th July 09, was advised by Mr. Amit (on Ph[protected] that I must return the Collins Cobuild English Dictionary to ITBC Competent House office & my subcription of Rs. 299/- would be refunded. The Collins Cobuild English Dictionary was returned on 28th July 09. The person who recd.this back- Mr. Ravinder informed that Rs. 299/- would be refunded withiin 14 days.

                                        On 29th Jul09 I recd another phone call (Mr. Fernandez) saying refund of Rs. 299/- cannot be made.I requested him to suggest alternative books Mr.Fernandez said he would call back in two hours; when I asked for his contact no. he said that is secret and cannot be revealed. Anyway, Fernandez DID NOT call back after two hours or any time thereafter.

                                        Thereafter I made numerous calls to the ITBC Competent House office & 40502424 for resolution.

                                        Finally Mr. Ravi called on 12th Aug 09. He acknowledged the receipt of Collins Gem Cobuild English Dictionary that was returned on 28th July 09. He mentioned that the charges of Rs.299/- paid by me in Dec 08 cannot be refunded- this is contrary to whatMr. Amit & Mr. Ravinder had advised. Mr. Ravi suggested that he could offer a choice of two books (I need to select one) & he would send me a mail, with details of the books. Till now I recd. no mail from Mr. Ravi. I had called[protected], ITBC Comptent House & NOIDA) mutiple times. I am always told Mr. Ravi.is not available. There is a Mr. Rohit- who hangs up on me, I have sent mutiple e mails to which I haven't recd. a response.

                                        I have had enough of harrassment by the ITBC team & now need them to refund my Rs.299/- subcritiption paid- to close this case.

                                        last month i.e, last week of the September,suddenly i got a phone call from India today book club, was told me that i won a one lakh rupee gold in a contest conducted by them.but i thought that was a business trick so i rejected.but to grab that chance i had to purchase a product among the available 4 products.i told them them that i do not want to take any discount coupons for any gold purchase.but they confirmed me i need not pay a single paise for the one lakh gold with the coupons without a single paise from my side.
                                        but at last this became fraud from their side.the coupons were just discount vouchers for one lakh gold.when i asked they insulted me .
