on 28th October 2009..one India Today Book Club representative / Agent called from Delhi (phone no starts from 0112050XXXX) and gave me offer of HTC TOUCH 2 phone featuring 512mb rom, 256mb ram
n 3.2 meega pixel camera, 16gb expandable memory and with SWATCH Watch worth Rs.7000 free and Air Ticket Voucher worth Rs.7000 valid for one year. So immediately i have checked HTC phone on
Internet and i liked the features of the same fome. So i go ahead with the offer and requested the agent to give me 16 gb ram insted of Air Ticket Voucher and he agreed. I have reconfirmed the
offer from his mouth n swapped the creadit care on IVRS. After confirming he gave me the order no (which is :[protected] and i was happy.

On 3rd Nov verification dept agent called up and i receive the Order no (0GA[protected], i was surprised that order no was differnt, so i have asked that person what was my order, he told HTC
P3470 phone, 2 mp camera and so on. This was not my order.he told this is only order. Then i told your agent agreed to give me 16gb mem insted of Air Ticket Voucher.He told this will not happen
we will not give such thing jo bhi hai offer ke sath wahi milega.Then he told that i'll forward this complain to concern department and they will call you soon. They didn't all yet and i
received the HTC3470 phone with swatch watch on 7th Nov 2009. Again i received the phone call from verification dept for order received or not , again i told her the same story and she gave me
one phone no [protected] and told me to speak/. I have tried so much time but no one is picking up the phone andf till date nor i received any phone call from India Today Book Club.
High Alert......India Today Book Club.
Please do not buy anything from India Today Book Club.......coz its not a good company and not doing the imandari (honesty) business.

One incidence happened with me.

    Sir,

    I have really made a big mistake by opting your offer. since 5 months I am struggilng for getting right products/for cancelling the order/getting back the refund.

    I was offered style kit over phone about 5 months back, I agreed and I was charged wrongly for fitness kit to my credit card (Rs 3199/-). then I received (Order no OGA[protected] a parcel on some others name i.e. Narendra Waswani ( my name is B Ranganath). As the name was wrong post office people did not give the parcel and sent back to you. when I contacted your call center about 45 days back, I was told that parcel has back and your amount (Rs 3199/-) will be credited back to your credit card account).

    So far I have not received back My amount back. Now everything is working on electronic media all above the process should complete within 15 days, but it is still pending since five months.

    I am not understanding why it is being delayed, if at all you are not going to refund please intimate me I will stop writing to you.

      With reference to the above order and online payment of Rs. 7,598/-, paid by me on 08.09.09, for "Philips DVD Player and Home Theatre System", I have not received the consignment so far. It was informed that the order will be delivered within two to three weeks.
      After various mails, and lodging of a complaint in this site, I got a response giving Docket No. 1114162& Tracking No. 69358186 of Dart Mail. I had gone to Dart Mail site and found that they have picked up the consignment on 06.10.09. Till today I have not received the consignment. When contacting India Today Book Club, they says wait for some more time. I would like to lodge a complaint in this regard, and hope to get your immeadiate intervention to either deliver my order or to get a refund of my payment.

        I have been a subscriber to India Today (English) for the last 10 years and Business Today for the last 1 1/2 years. I have not been getting the magazines in time (i.e.) atleast after 2 days it hit the news stand. What I am getting the magazines is once in a month and that too after making the complaint at their Customer Service Deptt. During the last 1 year I wd hv made atleast 20 complaints about the inordinate delay in getting the magazins but in vain. The last one being 2454452 for India Today (English) and 2454458 (Business Today). What I am getting a standard reply is " the matter is taken up with concerned department who will revert within 3 working days" After having paid the subscription in advance why should I deprived of getting these magazins in time?

This has been 3 months since i subscribed and not a single issue of magazine is received to me. My Subscription Number is BT1587090 . I have sent over 15 emails to customer care, every time they apologize for inconvenience but they have never sent the magazine to me till today.

            On 14th April 2009, I bought a product “Living Media” a Product of India Today Book Club and made the payment through Credit Card thrice from “BarclayCard Nos: [protected]” and twice from “HSBC Classic Card Nos: [protected]” as the told that they have not received the payment as transaction has been failed. But when I received the monthly statement of both the Card then it showed that the payment has been released from both of the Card as mentioned above thrice from “Barclays Card” and twice for “HSBC Card”. I have attached the Credit Card Statement for reference.

            But I have not received the product. When I had contacted “Mr. Azim Khan” and “Ravi Singh Negi” the head of the customer care department of India Today, they assured me that they will refund the money back, but till date I had not receive the refund back so when I contacted “Mr. Azim Khan” and “Ravi Singh Negi” regarding it they are not responding or resolving this matter since more than 5 to 6 month are over. Furthermore I am constantly making call to them for help but all in vain and incurring more than Rs:2500 telephone bill behind this issue.

            I am very much disappointed and no hope of justice from them so, I urge you to please take very strong action against them and please resolve the problem so that I can get my money back.

            In Jan 09 I had got the offer for Reeook Tracksuit alongwith the Reebok shoes for Rs.3198/- with the free gifts for which I made online payment. After 2-3 days their representative called and said they have not received any payment for which he made me pay on phone online. After a week or so I received my kit and to my surprise when I got my ICICI bank credit card statement they had charged me twice. On calling up India today they said they had already dispatched my second order (which I had not placed at all!). They directed me to sent it back on receipt and said theat I will be refunded the amount alongwith the courier amount. I received my second parcel (Order no.0GA[protected] on 1st Feb 09 and sent it back to them thru Blue Dart Courier (Receipt no.[protected]) which was received by Mr.Uttam on 5th Feb 09. Till date I have sent them my bank statement copies at least 8-9 times but to no avial. Around 10 days back they again asked me to sent the scanned copies of my ICICI Bank statement and the Blue Dart copy. I sent them immediately but till date I have not received any word from them except the mail stating that they have received my scanned copies and the matter of refund has been sent to the concerned dept.             I purchased an online gift from Indai today book club for philips home theatre for rs. 7600 on 30-09-09.
            after waiting for their response and calling regularly, they told me that item is out of stock an it will take 15 -20 days for refund. I also sent my statement, But even today about 60 days passed, they din't refund my money.

            They keep on saying that it is under process.

            The manager And sales person who were involved doesn't response on call.

            I had to borrow to pay my card bills.

            India Today Book Club — Not refunding amount charged on credit card

            I received a phone call saying he is calling from India Today. I have been subscribing this magazine for over 15 years. I was told that I am among few who are being offered a Holiday package etc. at a nominal charges and requested me to give my address and was then connected to another person who asked me to press my credit card no and ccv no, and told me I will receive my special gift by post. I was suspicious and called India Today Magazine Office if such offer has been made, to which they confirmed and said that the call was from there other office. Few days later I received a parcel containg many books and CDs. I told the courier that I have not ordered any books. The courier said The parcel has a letter in side also and I may check it and that I do not need to pay anything hence I should take it and call the company coming morning. I called the India today book club and told them That I have not ordered any books why I have been sent this parcel? they replied that the offer made to me of holiday is on purchase of these books! I had already purchased most of these books earlier! I informed them that I have these books and i don't need them and I am returning the parcel. They told me my credit card account will credited with the cost charged. since then there has been no reply . I am shocked by the action of this reputed company who has resorted to cheating its customers in this way. I would like to warn all not to heed to any calls /messages/letters etc sent by this company and not to be lured by their free gifts.

            I have received a call from one of your representative before 15 days back saying that I have been selected as a lucky winner and will be getting Reebok shoes with tour package. He also asked me that for this I will be charged Rs.2000/- But I need to pay it by credit card and asked me my credit card no saying that bank will give me confirmation call then only that amount will be debited from my account. That time I can subscribe or unsub the same by saying yes or no. But without receiving any call the amount has been debited from my account.
            Now they have agreed before 4 months to refund me the same. But inspite of my contineous follow up I have not received the same till date.

            ITBC — Refund not received

            I have received a call from one of ITBC representative before 1 year back saying that I have been selected as a lucky winner and will be getting Reebok shoes with tour package. He also asked me that for this I will be charged Rs.2000/- But I need to pay it by credit card and asked me my credit card no saying that bank will give me confirmation call then only that amount will be debited from my account. That time I can subscribe or unsub the same by saying yes or no. But without receiving any call the amount has been debited from my account.
            Now they have agreed before 4 months back to refund me the same. Even they have given me a cheque no and amount details on mail. But inspite of my contineous follow up I have not received the same till date.

I call[protected] on Sunday 3rd January 2010 and got in touch with your representative Mr. Mukesh. He collects my details and transfer to Payment gateway to enter the credit card details. After successful transaction I was inform that your payment to ICICI bank Credit card is successful and you will receive material within Two Weeks. Confirmation ID communicated to me[protected].



            After two hours again I got call from your end saying that I had booked the kit but due to virus or some software problem payment was not clear. Till that time I had also not received any SMS from ICICI credit card division. He again confirms my address and get all details and asked me to enter credit card details for payment.             I have ordered Raebok Sunglasses with Five days free resort visit to India today club through Internet shopping . I had received a SMS from them where they had disclosed my order number dispatched through DART courier whose LR number is , I had not received the product so I had contacted them on telephone and also write my complain through e mail but unfortunately they had not given any reply. I think this was their duty to pay attention to their customer.
            Please guide what should I do in my case ?

I cancelled my two orders for total amount of Rs. 1998 in the name of Jitendra Verma (& Yogendra Swarnkar) due to wrong committment from your representative and delay in process. But the Amount of Rs. 1998 have not returned to me despite writing many times and contacting your call center. I had already mailed my credit card statement at [protected]@indiatodaybookclub.com with transction reference No.

            The membership No. for Jitendra Verma is ITBC 0989465, order No. OGA[protected]got from your call center) and complaint No. is 210862.
            When I called again on 13.04.10, Complaint Ref. No. 449376 was provided to me and refund was promised by end of April 2010. But till date I have not received any.

            India Today Book Club — ITBC Complaints: Refund problem

            My membership ID with India Today Book Club is ITBC 09107863. The company is involved in selling products through telesales. I placed an order for Samsung Omnia Pro phone and portable DVD player on 18/02/2010 worth total amount of Rs 21496/- through telesales, Name of sales executive is Mr Ankush Garg, Phone received from the No:[protected], Along with this combo offer there were gift items also ie. Reebok track suit worth Rs 3999/- and surat diamond gift woucher worth Rs 5000/- for each product. Before placing the final order, dispatch address was checked by him and it was told that this address is in serviceable location. However I have not received any of the products till date. On calling their helpline I was told by customer care executive initially for one month that products are in dispatch mode and it will be delivered to your address within week days. This answer was repeated for almost 2 months. On 8th April 2010 customer care executive refuse to dispatch of product due to non serviceable location. On the same day I request to cancel the order the post the complaint for refund. During that time I was told that within 7 days you will get the refund reference no after approval. And within 21 working days after getting refund reference no, refund will be given to you by cheque. Continuous follow up done for getting refund reference no with ITBC customer care. (Phone NO[protected]. On 4th May’2010 I was told by customer care executive that refund request is not available and request is required to made by mail mentioning the booking Id to [protected]@indiatodaybookclub.com and [protected]@indiatodaybookclub.com. A mail was sent to above mentioned mail Ids with all details and requesting the cancellation of order and placing the request for refund. On talking to ITBC customer care on 12th May’2010 regarding the status of mail, I was told that refund reference no will be generated within 48hrs and it will be intimated to you. I wait for the same but I have not received any response from ITCB. Again talking to customer care on 15th May’2010, I was told that request is in approval status and after approval refund reference will be generated. On the 17th May’2010, I have been told to wait for 28 working days to get refund, day by day some reasons are generating by ITBC customer care, but I am not getting any positive response.

            India Today Book Club — not giving product as they said on phone

            I booked a offer of holiday package with India today book club by there telephonic call in Rs 3200. the representative told me that they will give a 2 night 3 days holiday package in any of there listed location for 2 adult and one children in 3200. With that they give a discount gift voucher of Rs 10000 to use for purchase from www.suratdiomonds.com. After that they put me on IVR and by that i paid Rs 3200 by my credit card. After 7 to 8 days i got a parcel from them. When i opened, it contains some books and cds. . I not booked for any books at all. I call on [protected] there customer care number regarding this. They said that holiday package u will get from our website by entering a promo code given in parcel. Than i log into there site www.bookstoday.in/promos.html and enter the code given by them, that site is giving message that site is down visit after 3 days. Since 10 days i am getting this message. When ever i call on there number they said u will get holiday package and jwellery voucher from website only

              The invoice tells us to visit to www.booktoday.in/promos.htm for redeeming this free gift package of hoday.But this link is a fraud as it doesnt accepts the unique promo ID and tells that the details we have entered are wrong.

              Invoice tells to contact on[protected] for any assistance, where as this number is also a fake/cheat as no one picks up call & all we hear is an IVR voice line telling us to hold the line as our call in very IMPORTANT to them (may be they should be getting some sort of money for each call we make to them).

              I was contacted by India Today Shopping club to purchase a Samsung Touch Screen Phone (from number[protected] with which they were offering me the same free gift of 3 day & 2 night holiday stay in 3 to 5 star hotel package including round air ticket for 3 adults at any location in India from a list of 60 destinations.When I asked the calling agent (naming ALI) about the location of India Today Book Club Office , he was reluctant to tell me the same & after few arguement he said that it is in Connaught Place New Delhi , where as the Invoice I received mentions the address for same as India Today Book Club , B-47 , Indira Enclave, Neb Sarai New Delhi-110068.The agent was giving me wrong informations repeatedly like he told me to go to www.bigcity.in/indiatodaybookclub/holiday to redeem my free gift instead of www.booktoday.in/promos.htm which was mentioned in my Invoice.

              When I was making the purchase on phone with the India Today book club calling agent, I was never told that I m getting this free package of holiday for purchasing the 12 book package.Instead he framed all this a if I am purchasing a 3 day & 2 night holiday stay in 3 to 5 star hotel package including round air ticket for 3 adults at any location in India from a list of 60 destinations.And when I completed the financial transaction of Rs3198 on phone he informed me that I would get a 12 book set with 4 encyclopedia CDs free with this holiday package ( which was completely wrong, false , opposite to actaul real fat that I had actaully purchased a 12 book set/pirated book set.

              Each and every link to contact India Today Book Club is fake , fraud and misleading.Even its official website www.indiatodaybookclub.com itself is misleading as it tells to enter LOGIN WEB ID : 1594803 alng with Membership No.: ITBC09124803 to get a usermane/password.Where as after entering these details all we get is a blank web page.I tried this 50 times with 4 different web browsers and I get the same blank page in response.

              In my opinion India Today Book Club is a complete fraud, fake , robbing as it shows lucrative offers to give the pirated & rotten goods/CDs for a pinch of bucks.I thinks this could be masterpeice of a terrorist mind to rob Indian money & use it for funding unlawful activities like 9/11 , parliament attack, bomb blasts and helping other Islamic terrorist organisatins.I hink some serious Police/Legal Action must be taken againt this India Today Book Club ASAP because I already read several complaints against it on various consumer complaint forums ( after being its victim ofcourse ).

              India Today Book Club — Non Reciept of books

              I had accepted an offer of India Today Book Club for which I made the requisite payments. On 12 sep 2008 they debited my credit card for 574/- (Transaction no. [protected] 3030 345) as per my request for a book set and an offer attached to it. It was suggested it might take 3-5 weeks, but I haven't heard anything from them till now. My address earlier with them was of Chennai and with this order I changed it to my latest address as also mentioned below. L.No 730, DSSC, Wellington, Coonoor, Nilgiris-643231. Surprisingly I got another VPP from them on this changed address, one which I never asked for and thus never collected. How about the order I asked for. My holiday plans were realted to the offer I have paid for. I sent them a mail on 04 Nov 2008, but they have not even bothered to answer my mail. I hope they have decency enough to reply me throug email and let me know what is happening.

              India Today Book Club — non receipt of items booked

              I have booked Reebock Summer Kit on 23 Mar 09 and the booking ID is[protected]. At the time of booking I was informed that the consignment will be delivered within 21 days. Repeated request have been made on the toll free no on which the item was booked ie [protected]. Every time I get a standard reply that the item will be delivered in next 10 days. 90 days have passed and I am yet to receive the legitamate item for which payment has been made and item not yet received. customers should not be taken for granted by these type of advertisement and company. There should be some provision to go to consumer court and claim compensation for firstly not delivering the items in time secondly wasting so much time and money calling the office of india today club. In spite of such a dismal performance the company is still sending the SMS for more offers. If the items are not delivered to me in next 10 days I shall be compelled to take legal course od action as last resort.

              India Today Bookclub Holiday Offer — Misleading by India Today Book Club

              As I was about to get married in June, I got a call from India Today Bookclub saying that they have a offer where if I pay Rs. 5943.21 to them, I will be getting a holiday offer which I can use as soon as it arrives on my doorstep as it was explained to the executive (Yuvraj was his name). Hearing that, I placed my order on May 14, 2009, thinking it would suit for my holidays after marriage. He also said it will reach within 4 working days, but I got it only on May 28 and my marriage was on June 12, 2009. But when i received the package, they mentioned that I have to fill up a form and send it to some other third party company and they will send a voucher in 10 working days to my address, then only can I use the offer. It sounded dubious and I called the customer care and told her that what that executive said and what was on offer. She gave me a complaint number also (115899 and order #OGA[protected] and she said they would refund it in 10 working days. After a couple of weeks I again called (I am in Bangalore and making an STD call to Delhi) and she said I need to send the parcel back to them, then only they will look into the matter. The thing was why was I not told before when I called the first time? Why was not I am given proper info on product?

              When I asked for refund through e-mail after couriering to them, they are saying they have not received the parcel and when I inquired with the courier company, they said they do not have any info and they said they are not able to trace where it has gone and these guys are not giving me the refund.

              I have purchase a tour package of Rs 2598, as per executive, the tour package was inclusive with for 2 adult and 1 child, both side airfare, 3 days 2 night accommodation in 3 or more star hotel. But, after sometime of booking I have received some pirated books of same prices. After registration I have get a holiday voucher. But the holiday voucher is only for 2 night & 3 days stay in AC deluxe room, Accommodation in Twin sharing basis, Welcome drink on arrival, 2 veg meals free for a couple for 2 days including breakfast & dinner, All applicable tax, Stay of 1 child below 5 year is complimentary, Free Local Assistance.
              In this voucher there is no any information available about airfare or fare.
              Now they say, In this package return air ticket not available.
              Every time they told me that they had forwarded my complaint to their concerned department.

              I had purchased 12 books set worth Rs. 2598/- on 30th July 2009 having the order no: OGA[protected] and invoice no: ORA[protected] with invoice date 31st July 2009.
              I had been told in the offer that I will get a flight ticket worth Rs 7000/- and hotel stay for three (2 adults and a child) worth Rs.5000/-. after login at
              india today site with unique no: 1481674A[protected] I downloaded two forms one for hotel and another for flight (attached) and sent it to
              Bangalore address as mentioned in the form in the month of august 2009, but there is no response from their end till date.
              I would like to know is this the marketing strategy to promote the sellimg the books or do the customer actually get the benefit.
              This episode has deterred me from making any deal with ITBC
              The flight request form no is IT16006 and Holiday request form has no: ITBC 3837 Attached). Both were send to the address in bangalore by ordinary post in the mid august 2009 but till date the booking order form has not been received by me.(it was supposed to reach within 10 working days)
              The non receipt of both the forms have made me not to purchase any further order or promotion from India today.

              I HAVE REGISTERED MYSELF WITH BIGCITY, BANGLALORE ( AS PER THEIR INSTRUCTIONS) AND SEND DEMAND DRAFT OF RS. 899/- WITH ALL OLTHER DOCUMENTS REQUIRED BY THEM WITH LIST OF 3 DATES AND DESTINATIONS NAMES AS FOR (1) 27/09/2009 - MUSSORIE (2) 05/10/2009- SHIMLA AND (3) 22/09/2009-MANALI. ALL THESE I HAVE SEND WELL IN TIME ON 06/08/2009. BUT I AM VERY SURPRISED THAT THEY ARE NOT GIVING ANY REPLY FROM THEMSELVES. I HAVE SEND ABOUT 15 TO 20 E-MAILS THEM SO FAR. BUT THEY ARE NOT CONTACTING ANYTHING BY PHONE NOR GIVING REPLY OF MY MAILS.

              The India Today Book Club sent an offer for purchase of a book " The History of the World " in October. I made the payment through credit card. They have collected money from the credit card on 14 th of October. But they have not honored their commitment of sending the book along with freebies as of date. A letter was sent to them to send the book in December. But I have not received any reply. ? A stone in the well.

              This behavior on part of India today has made me loose their image of a standard publication.
              If they value their esteem they should not let this happen to a single person however big their publication may be.

              India Today Book Club — compl reg non receipt of items booked through order

              Dear Sir,
              I have placed an order for Reebok Sun Glasses through India Today Book Club worth Rs. 1198/- and the payment was done through Credit Card. This order was placed on dated 4th march 2010 and the Billing id is[protected] and the order no.- BAGITTODAY/0GA[protected] dated 08/03/2010.
              I was promised by them that the order will get delivered within 1-2 weeks maximum. After two weeks, I started inquiring about the order and they used to keep giving excuses like- due to audit order is not placed , System is having problem, Item is not available, etc.
              I Have followed up a number of times on their Help Line Number [protected], I get the same reply courier has been sent to you but it was returned back. Even they could not provide me the tracking number. I have updated my address four times through E-mail as per their requirement but all in vain
              It has become a round robin game where no one is ready to take responsibility and give me a proper reply. I have spent more than Rs. 500/- on telephone calls and other tracking.
              Please help me how to lodge a complaint against ITBC .

                  1.With due respect I mr srikant pattnayak a subscriber of the India to-day shopping club is lodging a 4th complain to you but unfortunately I cant got any respond to you. I have received my reebok shoe but as per your assurance I cannot get any travel voucher. Whenever I m contacting to customer care than I cannot get any satisfactory answer. So I want to why my problem does not shut out. No body is gave correct answer, all are giving answer like as mobile customer care center. They are also aware for their customer but your care center like as street dog.

                  2, I was booked online for reebok shoe with track suit but when I paid cash on delivery I found a floater with single shots I paid rs 1658/- . so I want to know what is your motto.

                  3. To day I received another item by cash on delivery that was puja thali, that was never i booked that item. If 1st mistake by your organization its ok and I was also complain that 2nd time it can be excuse but your group have done 3rd time . so it is clearly discloses that your motto is to cheat people with cheating intention.
                  So according to me all of your organization who is looking this shopping item are non sense, cheater, un civilized , barbarous.

                  Why your organization is cheater and 420:- when you dispatched the item why you do not discloses what item is inner container, if some thing is mistake in inner so purchaser can replace it or another booked it.
                  Why your organization is non sense and un civilized :- when your customer care call us for conformation that time I was informed for previous complain, so that time your executes of call center misbehave me and referring to complain customer center. So my question to you that is customer care was take order to me? So why I will call customer care? I was lodged 4 time complain by e-mail but un fortunately no body is able to answer me.

                      I ordered for an Instrumental CD pack of 16 CDs, against payment of Rs. 2000/- through cheque.

                      Though i made payment through cheque, i was sent the parcel through VPP. Since i had made the payment, i dint accept the VPP parcel. The company remained silent on the matter. Then i talked to the company on phone and told them why the parcel was sent by VPP. They admitted their mistake and sent afresh parcel which was delivered to me at my residence.

                      To claim the assured gift i have been given a unique number. But when i log on the the concerned website given by the company and enter all the details i am not able to claim my gift. I have contacted the company on their phone number[protected], but everytime i am told that my unique number has not been un locked and everytime they assure me that it would be unlocked within an hour or so, but nothing happens.
                      I have requested the company to delivery assured gift at my residence, but they say it cant be and i have to claim it only on their website, but then they dont unlock the unique code.
                      I seems that the company is playing fraud with me.

The above order was duly confirmed by you through email that I have received on 25.07.2009 (Copy is enclosed for your ready reference).

                      On July 25, 2009 I have received a packet of SUR SAAZ & TAAL CD with Order No. OGA[protected] dated 24.07.2009, Invoice No. ORA[protected] dated 25th July, 2009, instead of my ordered pack of Scared Moment – 20 CD Pack. I immediately contacted your Customer Care and brought it to their notice. As per their advice I have returned this packet to India today book club with a letter dated August 7, 2009 (Copy enclosed for your ready ref.) requesting that replace this packet to my ordered packet. Packet sent thru DTDC courier AWB No. Z96156478 dated 7th August, 2009 amounting Rs. 50/- & packet received by India Today Club on August 8, 2009.


                      The same was confirmed by India Today Book Club customer care also on 23.08.2009 in my mail that packet has received by them and assured me that they will rectify this error and will be delivering the right ordered packet.

                      Since then I am repeatedly following with you but all in vain. I have neither received ordered packed nor any response from India Today. I have made series of follow up calls during all these months, to list a last few follow ups was on 03.10.2009, 29.10.2009 – Mr. Akshat customer care executive & 31.10.2009 Ms. Sushma – Customer Care Executive. Ms. Sushma gave me acomplaint No. 231063 dated 31.10.2009.

                      Receiving such an unprofessional behavior from a reputed concern like yours is truly disheartening. Harassing a customer with long span of follow ups even when the full payment has already made and serving with wrong order is unethical and immoral.

                      After this long painful process of this harassment I finally want to cancel my order. You are requested to please cancel this order and refund me the full amount of Rs. 2599/- Order Value and also Rs. 50/- for Courier Charges that was borne by me for returning the wrong packet. You are also requested to cancel my membership from India Today and further do not send any offers details on my email id.

                      On 23rd March, 2010 One Mr. Mohsin khan rang up frm landline no.[protected] on my cell no. saying that my name was figuring at sl. no. 4 in a contest being organized by India Today and that if I purchased any item worth over Rs. 5000 I would stand 99.99% chance of winning a prize of Rs 5 Lakhs and a Maruti SX4 car.He also told me that Mr. Prabhu Chawla of India Today would personally appear on Aaj Tak at 10.00 pm on 30th March, 2010 and announce the names of the winners.I was not convinced.
                      On 24th March the same Mohsin Khan again rang me and tried to convince me that he was speaking on behalf of the Company .hereupon I ordered a Philips Home theatre system and paid Rs. 7598/- through my credit card.
                      Needless to say, the story regarding Mr. Prabhu Chawla and the contest was totally false. Also the items paid for by me are yet to arrive.
                      I am cinvinced that it is purely a case of cheating and fraud .It is requested that this case may be referred to the appropriate police station for instituting a criminal case against the persons and company perpetrating such fraud.

                      i had booked mobile handset on phone, (call was from living media in) & payment of Rs14,998 was done by my SCB credit card (last four digits--0587) dated 15/05/10 (may)& was assured that i will be receiving hand set withing 7 working days.But till date i had not received the handset or not any communication from company about the delivery status.

                      I have subscribed for the 'TIME' magazine for one year during April 2011 by sending a cheque for Rs.2656/- on 28.04.2011 under the Gift Offer scheme for a 'Wheeled Carryon Set'. For 4 months there was no response and then in Septemeber 2011 the Cheque was realized and the TIME magazine started to arrive by post every week. I have so far not received the assured Gift (Wheeled Carryon Set). I have waited so far hoping that the Gift may arrive subsequent to the Magazine. Now I realize that I have been cheated by the two reputed concerns 'TIME' & ' LIVING MEDIA INDIA LIMITED'.                       made in which i have to cancel the order and i will receive full amount back within 6 days.

                      as they have cheated on me i do not believe them now fear to commit any further mistake i want my full money back at earliest.

                      hope to receive early result and don't force me to take any legal action against your company through ECONOMIC OFFENCE WING OF THE

                        I had booked two orders over phone to India Today Book Club On27.09.09 and 10.10.09 for best sellers and Kodak Camera respectively. I was told that offers were specially given to me as I was one of the elite member of INDIA TODAY BOOK CLUB. I was also told that if I don't avail this offer, I would be missing the chance of getting a "great dhamaka gift" in Diwali which is already stored for me by ITBC. The offer also included round air ticket and Holiday Vouchers and other free Gifts worth Rs.14000/ and Rs.25000/. I have received the Best Seller Books and Kodac Camera by Courier. Instruction is given to log on to www.bookstoday.in/promos.htm to avail the free gifts. Now when I am trying to log in I find that the web site dose not exist. While booking the order I was told that all the Holiday and Air ticket vouchers will be sent along with the courier. I am a member of ITBC since two years and this false commitments are being given often and this type of incident happened before also .I had lodged complains before also but no fruitful action is taken from their side. For ready reference my order nos. were 0GA[protected] dt.27.09.09 and 0GB[protected] dt.09.10.09. Requesting you to please stop this cheating and necessary action to be immediately taken

                        I am also customer of India Book today Offer, I was about to take them to Consumer Court as the site that was inofrmed i.e. www.bookstoday.in/promos.htm was not working but it was deactivated and later i had received it since its on large scale problems occurs they are late but not fraud I hope to get my round trip soon .. be cool wait and you all will get the free biees offered best of luck.

                          I am enclosing the letter written to ITBC
                          Dear Sir,
                          1. I had booked order for three sets of spiral cups and saucers vide order no M-COMMERCE/0GA[protected]. The order value was Rs. 1944.Each cup and saucer set was supposed to have four cups and saucers. I received the parcel fully intact. It had three small boxes inside. However, when I operned the box, each box contained only two cups and saucers instead of four.

                          2.I lodged the complaint with
                          Ms Sushma Pundir on 05 Jul
                          Mr Dinesh on 20 Jul
                          Mr Ashutosh on 30 Jul
                          Mr Amit on 26 Aug
                          Ms Priya on 17 Sep
                          All the above promised me immediate action and said that the remaining cups and saucers will be delievered within ten working days.
                          3. However, till now nothing has happened. I spoke again today TO Mr Amit who was surprised that my items were not delivered. However, this time I insisted on speaking to supervisor and I was connected to Mr Ravi after a hold of 22 minutes. Mr Ravi wanted to know the weight of the parcel after a gap of 5 months. He informed me that nothing was done and he would forward my complaint to his superiors if I send it by e mail.


                          4. It is quite apparent from the above that the five customer service representatives either did not know their job or tried to hoodwink me. If I was told on 05 Jul to keep the empty boxes, probably I would have kept it.

                          5. In view of the above, it is requested that the my order may be completed at the earliest. Failing which, I may not have any option other than approaching Consumer Protection Cell for not completing the order and attempt to cheat by customer service representatives of ITBC. You may also like to keep records of my conversations with your customer service representative handy for subsequent use.


                          6. Till this matter is sorted out to my satisfaction, you are also advised not to contact me on phone/SMS/ e mail with any new offer otherwise I will consider it spam and invasion of privacy.


                          7. Thanking you, I am sure ITBC will not disappoint me.

                          India Today — partial delivery of order

                          I placed an order for Rs.999/- for 7Agatha Christie DVD. The offer promised me a sunglass along with the DVDs. The said order was delivered minus the sunglass. Repeated enquiry with the customer care personnels and several emails have resulted in nothing. Thereafter i was told that I would be getting a watch instead, which is also yet to reach.

                          Promise not to avail any of your offers in future. I had suffered a lot with the yearly subscription of India Today nd now this free stuff.

                              I had placed 2 orders with ITBC.
                              1. Domestic Holiday Package including a) 12 Books, b) 3 CDs, c) Return Air Tickets with Taxes for 2 Adults and 1 child and d) Stay in any of the 5-Star Hotels in India with Breakfast and Dinner.

                              Complaint: I have received only the books and CDs. I have not received any further information about the Holiday Package which is what was marketed by the marketing people. The agent, Rajendra, had informed me that within three days of receiving the books, I will be contacted by ITBC for delivering the details of the Holiday package. But there is no such sign even after 3 weeks and he is not receiving my calls anymore.

                              2. Combo offer of SAMSUNG MOBILE PHONE + PHILIPS HOME THEATRE + FUJIFILM DIGITALCAMERA with all accessories.

                              Complaint: I have received only the phone. There is no further news about the Camera and Home Theater. I called up Dilip, the marketing agent from ITBC who had handled this order. But this person received my call only once and after coming to know the reason of my call, he simply disconnected the call. He is not taking my calls anymore.

                              I once got reply from [protected]@indiatodaybookclub.com that I have to claim my gifts from http://bookstoday.in/promos.htm. But this site shows that it is down for maintenence and that I have to login after 3 days. This condition is not changed for the past 10 days.

                              I have written several emails to all the three available IDs [protected]@indiatodaybookclub.com, [protected]@in.com and [protected]@offers.indiatodaybookclub.com. I have directly tried calling these people over phone and sent several SMSs to them to convey my concerns. But there seems to be no response of any kind from these people.

                              I need guidance as to how to proceed. There has to be some limit to the freedom with which these people have made it a habit to very conveniently cheat people and just escape.

                                I ordered for Reebik shoes + Free Beneton Watch amounting to Rs. 2,198/- but informed through First Flight Courier about the Parcel containing BENETON WATCH, SUNGLASSES, MESSANGER BAG, CAP AND BELT. I returned the same from the courier itself on 09.06.09.                                   PATHETIC Customer Care. Suggest you rename it to Customer Scare. I bought a Kodak Camera recently and was to get 1 travel voucher and 1 flight voucher along with it. I got the camera but without the free gifts. Subsequent attempts to contact customer care have all failed as I get put on hold for 30 minutes each time before I hang up. However, bulk mail peddling other probably equally phoney offers continues!

                                    Please refer subject matter in my appended mail which i have sent earlier, till date you have not given any satisfactory response. shall i consider that customer grievance has no importance for India Today Book Club, and there is no dedicated team to resolve any disputes.

                                    I regret that i dealt with India Today Book Club, and trust me this was my last order and also i would never recommend any one for placing any order through India Today Book Club, as my grievance has me establish an opinion that India Today Book Club does not have any professional approach to deal with customers, being a banker i understand the importance of customer satisfaction, the only matter that leads to customer dissatisfaction and attrition is the quality of services and ability to deal with customer complaints, there are ways and means to get my issue resolved but i don't want to waste my time for such a nominal amount, Rather i would spend my time some productive work that can benefit my organisation.

                                    Please confirm whether this dispute can be resolved or not once again to confirm you, i am not going to waste mt time despatching the packet back to you, as its a fault from your end end hence you need to take the necessary steps resolving the same.

The order i received by blue dart on 27-03-09. the order placed was for a Reebok shoe size 8 and a United Colors of Benetton wrist watch, i received a box well packed, when i opened the box i was surprised that the box contained a pair of Reebok shoe as ordered and a box of wrist watch from UCB which was empty, the watch was missing and India today book club has dispatched an empty box, is it a process of humiliating customer. i am still unable to understand how such kind of goo[censored]p happened. i am extremely dissatisfied with such happenings, India Today is one amongst the best brands as per my understanding, if i am not wrong. such kind of goo[censored]p by such a reputed brand is really not acceptable. i spoke to your executive over phone who advised me to dispatch back the courier with a complaint letter, i really don't want to get into the trouble of going to courier agent and booking the courier back to you, i am sorry i deny to do any such kind of thing, i don't have a time for such kind of job. and i really will not go for that, leaving such a nominal amount is not a big deal, i will consider the same as charity done by me on behalf of your India Today Book Club, if customer satisfaction really matters to you, i hope you will take some suggestive measures towards this complaint. being a Banker i really understand the importance of Brand Value and believe me i don't want to do any kind of bad mouthing or bad publicity against India Today Book Club, please feel free to call me or mail at earliest.

                                        I had purchased a Holiday Stay Voucher through telesales. Later while booking I found that it was a false selling and all that has been promised was not there. So I decided to get it cancelled and asked them to refund my amount. They told me to send back the consignment and they will refund my money. I did the same but courier got returned to me with a remark " Consignee has not accepeted the shipment". When I again called them, they asked me to send the same again to their Competent House Address and I did the same. It was delivered on 13th Aug vide First Flight Courier No: O02319753. (POD's are attached)

                                        Every alternate day I have been calling their customer care for refund and everytime i get the statement " your courier has not yet received and we are forwarding your complaint to concerned department. you will get the refund within 20-25 days".

                                        Will somebody please care to confirm a clear timeline when will i get the refund or should i have to go to the consumer court for such a small amount.

                                        India Today Book Club — Cancellation of Holiday Stay Voucher

                                        I had opted to avail the Holiday Stay Voucher that was offered via a telephonic conversation. I took the offer ONLY because India Today was the company offering it. Now I really regret taking this decision and want to warn everyone here that PLEASE AVOID any promotion sponsored by India Today or India Today Book Club.It is indeed shameful that such a reputed firm with such a glorious past has lowered their standard to such appalling levels that have now resorted to cheating and fraud! I am now seriously considering cancelling my India Today subscription as well as propagate this message via print and web media.

                                        The story unfolds as below:
                                        I got the invoice# ORA[protected] dated 11-June-2009, along with a request to forward the same to M/s Premier Sales Promotions Pvt. Ltd for availing the Holiday Stay Vouchers. Accordingly I had forwarded the same immediately and they promptly deducted Rs. 5943 from my card. But despite contacting them over telephone at their number[protected] and reminder dated 10-July-2009 I am yet to recieve the voucher from them.In fact despite trying several times over phone I coud not get the an opportunity to talk to anyone.In addition they have a PO Box number for correspondence which makes sending Registered A/D communication impossible. Maybe that is the idea behind this fraud!
                                        Other relevant details of the Invoice are:

                                        I contacted then via email and wanted to cancel my voucher and get refund. I got through at the landline number and in turn was directed to another forum- an email id to contact ([protected]@bigcity.in)! I was assured that they would respond immediately and refund the amount. But guess what? No response!
                                        All this running and chasing around has convinced me that it is a scam and a test of your resolve and patience and maybe many o[censored]s will get frustrates and let go and these crooks get away with it!
                                        I checked this site and found that someone at least takes the trouble to respond and say that the issue has been taken care of so am trying my luck here! :-)

                                        I purchased a holiday stay voucher from them. Thereafter, as desired filled & submitted the registration form. After a month or so i got the promotion code. But i tried booking the resort it found that the commitments / confirmations given to me at the time of selling the voucher are not met. So i called there customer care to get the same cancelled and asked them to process the refund of my money.

                                        The complaint number was : 168090 dated: 04/08/09

                                        They asked me to send all the documents back to them. I had sent them through courier on 06/08/09 and informed them the consignment number on customer care. Later on 12/08/09 i got the consignment back in the opned condition with a note from the courier company that consignee has returned it after checking.When i again called them they apologised and asked me to send the same again to their other address in C.P., They also assured me to refund the courier charges also. So i couriered all the documnets alongwith the POD receipt to this new address on 12/08/09 itself. I got the confirmation from the courier company that the consignment had been delivered on 13/08/09. But till date their customer care guys are saying that they have not received the consignment or even if received it is not updated in their records.

                                        I need my refund to be processed immediately.

                                        If i didn't get the proper response and clear timelines within a week, i am going to involve my lawer friend and take the serious actions.

                                        Dear Rahul,
                                        ITBC have cheated me in the same way. However i have not returned their consignment of books as asked by them for the refund, as i refused to beleive them after they had cheated me once.
                                        I have had about 8-10 telephonic conversations with them where they agree that they have the recording of the telesale but say that it was a 'miscommunication' and they apologize for the same.
                                        Please tell me if you have been able to get your money back and how.
