I ordered for a pair of Reebok shoes on 12/02 but it did not arrive till date. Whenver I communicate and ask for the reason of delay I always get the same response that it will be delivered within next few days. I have almost fade up with their service and also lost the hope of receiving my order.

    I have paid rs 2600 with India Today Book Club and they promised me to send the 3 days package for couple with a child anywhere in india by flight up and down by paying another rs 7000 at the time of flight. I havent got the response from them afterwards, I called there customer care number no response. They told me to login to www.bookstoday.in/promos.htm, But thats a false link. I don't what I have to do next to claim my package.

    i too ordered with India Today Book Club after i received a promotion email from them. They sent me a courier after about 2 months later and it came by VPP indian post service. I paid and collected the parcel to find the book i have ordered was different. I called them many time and also sent them email regarding this. But they have not done anything about it at all. No i have no way to return this nor claim refund but to keep the books they have sent me. I would suggest none to buy from India Today Book Club as they have not refund policy in place, the customer support system is very bad, the website does'nt work and we cannot pay online...
    My order no. 0GA[protected] dated 27-01-09, I ordered a Reebok Fitness Kit. I received the kit with wrong shoe size (I order no. 9 but received no.6) hence on instructions from Customer help[protected], I return the full parcel.

    On 14-02-09 new order no. is given to me - 0GA[protected], but till date I have not received my order. Whenever I call helpline no., simple answer is given "order is fully / successfully processed and will receive the same in 1 week"

    This has been going for last 3 weeks. The customer service reps are not even transferring the call to senior personnel reason given all are busy. Today 17-03-09 am told to wait for 15 days more.

    Mr. Mayank, Ms. Shabnam Khan, Arvind, Dominic Savio, Priya, Ishleen all these employees give different reasons / excuses but not even one has helped. I feel am helpless as I am based in Mumbai and this company is in Delhi.

    ITBC is fleecing innocent buyers. WORST SERVICE PROVIDER I HAVE COME ACROSS TILL DATE.

    BEWARE INFORM ALL YOUR NEAR AND DEAR ONES FRIENDS NOT TO SHOP FROM INDIA TODAY BOOK CLUB

    I thanks you all, making me aware of the issue by ITBC.

    I was planning to buy the holiday package.. But now I am not...
    I am also getting calls saying india2day tourisam & they are offering for 5star hotel accomodation at cheapest rates for all tourist places acorss india as well as aborad...they are asking for debit card/credit card number to make a payment of Rs.7500/- for getting accomodation for 8nights & 7days at any 5star hotel. I think this is also same fraud link

      Hi This is A. Narender Reddy, i was made a payment for Reebok Kit.
      "Complete Reebok Fitness Kit worth Rs 8196 which includes Reebok Shoes worth Rs 2999,
      Reebok Tracksuit worth Rs 3999, Reebok Bag worth Rs 999 and Reebok Towel worth Rs 199
      at the price of Reebok Shoes alone. You get this complete Reebok Fitness Kit at Rs 2999
      only (Rs 200 to apply as order handling and delivery charges over and above Rs 2999)."

      I made payment for this offer of Rs.3198/- on -5-FEB-09 Credit Card Number: XXXX6015 at LIVING MEDIA. The Amount was deducted from Account and i called 4 to 5 times to the customer care Number:[protected] and they said that will get the pack last week. Now i got messege due to technical reasons your amount is not paid so need to pay the Cash again.

      ITBC -Book Club / Reebok Fitness Kit — Not received the said product

      I have booked for Reebok Fitness Kit offered by ITBS over internet which was failed on accepting the credit card.Subsequently I received a phone call from ITBC Delhi on same day that your transaction over internet has failed now you can book over telephone by confirming the amount for Rs.3, 199/- for said product which was processed and said payment made by debiting the amount from my HDFC Card for which I received the sucessful payment to ITBC from my HDFC Card Customer Care thro SMS .
      It is surprised to receive the SMSs from ITBC that my payment has failed and asked me to send SMS acceptance that the amount will be paid at the time of delivery. 27.03.09again same day &, 25.03.09.

      Now tell me where this amount of Rs.3, 199/- is credited which was debited to my card account for the said product offerede by ITBC.When I enquired my HDFC Card Officials, they told clearly that the amount got credited to ITBC only.

      Pl.look in this matter and do the needful.

        In around December 2008, I booked an order for set of 12 books for an amount of Rs. 2598 (inclusive of processing, handling, courier charges and all the other charges as applicable) through Internet in response to your mail which came on my personal email ID.

        This offer has attached to it the following gifts:

        1) Rs. 5, 000/- voucher for all expenses in a hotel
        2) Rs. 7, 000/- voucher for Airtravel
        3) A UCB watch worth Rs. 2600/-
        4) A membership of club of Rs. 300 free books.

        However, when I got the packet, the packet contains only the books and no free gifts. Even the executive from the postal department was asking for Rs. 200/- more from me as VPP charges. As I was not satisfied, I returned the packet.

        Again on 9th February, 2009, I got the call from your office regarding the offer and they asked for the clarifications why I had rejected the offer. I explained to them the above deficiencies. They promised me that it will not happen again if you take this offer. They insisted me to take the offer. On their insistence I booked the order through you by telling my credit card number and all the other details, consequent to which the same offer was reinstated and was given order number ORA[protected].

        Further, again on 11th February, 2009, I again got the call from your sales department. The lady at the other side named Ms. Shyrel told me to take another order for value of Rs. 2598/- . I told her clearly that I have already booked an order on 9th February, 2009. She told me that this is a different order and if I take this, I will be in the ist of top 10 clients and will surely get Rs. 1 lakh in draw to be held on 31st March, 2009. On her assurances, I took this order (order number OGA[protected] also but I clearly and specifically told her that I did not want the books again ad there is no point in keeping 2 sets of the same books. She told me after confirming from other person that I will get one Reebok kit comprising Reebok Track Suit, a bag, shoes and I more thing (Reebok fitness Kit) plus other things as mentioned below, all for Rs. 2598/-:

        1) Rs. 5, 000/- voucher for all expenses in a hotel
        2) Rs. 7, 000/- voucher for Airtravel
        3) A UCB watch worth Rs. 2600/-

        I told her several times that please be sure that I will get the same things and not another set of books. She confirmed me on this. Also on both the occasions, the sales executive confirmed me that I will get all these inventories in one packet only.

        Inspite of all these unequivocal assurances from your side, I got two packets and to my surprise, the packets were same. Both the packets contain similar twelve books. There was no free gift inside the packets as promised. Only1 packet contains UCB watch.

        My concerns are:

        1) Why I was given two packets containing the same stuff inspite of your assurances that I will get different inventories in both the packets.
        2) The first packet doesnot contain any free gift. The Second packet contains only the UCB watch, which is a very bad quality watch. I AM GOING TO MAKE A COMPLAINT TO UCB ALSO. They are promoting their bad quality watches through you and you are equal partner in this. This is really bad stuff from a renowned company.
        3) Your invoice says that I have to claim the free gifts within 60 days. Why I have to claim these gifts. You should have send me those gifts with these packets as promised by you.

        When I tried to contact your customer care at number[protected]as given in invoice) last Saturday, the same is busy at most of the times. I got through the number on three occasions after repeated dialing; however it is shocking that even after 20 minutes continuously waiting on all the three occasions, the phone was not connected to any of the customer care executive. Only thing I listened was a music for more than 1 hour.

        After this, I contacted your sales department for solution but the response was even more pathetic. They told me that they cannot do anything and I have to contact the customer care only for all my grievances. When I told them my problems in getting through to the customer care, they gave me another number, the response on which was also the same MUSIC ONLY.

        I again contacted the sales department and talked to senior people also but to no avail. I told them that they are in the same company and they could forward my request to customer care and gave my number to them so that they can call me. But they flatly refused to do so. They simply told me that they cannot do anything. It is really agonizing that at the time of sale, they were always eager to talk to me and close the deal as early as possible by promising false benefits and at the time of listening grievances, they just shrugged off their responsibilities. This is the sales department only who had taken my order. It is also amazing that when I called sales department, the phone was connected with in 30 seconds and everybody was available but to sell not to offer any help on the already sold product. However, the customer care department was not accessible for more than one hour. After this I messaged ITBC to 52424 also on 1.19 P.M. in afternoon for assistance, I got the message from them that:

        “Thank you for contacting us. Our team member will call you back soon to discuss your request.”

        But again nobody from your side has contacted me. What does soon mean? Can you tell me? Even after a week, nobody has called me to discuss my problems.

        The crux of the matter is that you are not interested at all to look at the problems of the customers due to the following reasons:
        1) Your customer care is not accessible.
        2) Your sales department is not listening anything. I don’t understand their concept that they cannot do anything.
        3) Nobody contacted me even I week has been passed after sending my request for assistance through SMS.

        This is nothing but a very unprofessional attitude from a renowned group INDIA TODAY.

        I AM MAKING THIS APPLICATION FOR THE EARLY REDRESSAL OF MY GRIEVANCES AND IN THE HOPE THAT U PEOPLE WILL LISTEN.

        IF NOT RESOLVED, I WILL HAVE NO OPTION BUT TO FILE A CRIMINAL COMPLAINT FOR CHEATING, FRAUD, CRIMINAL BREACH OF TRUST BESIDES OTHER REMEDIES AVAILABLE IN LAW AT YOUR RISKS AND CONSQUENCES.

        I was asked to purchase a product by India Today Book club as on 14.05.2009, Order number- OGA[protected]. it was a 12 book set worth Rs2598, in order to get a free air ticket with a free holiday package for a family and I was assured by Mr. Sandeep Sahota, Sales Manager, India today Book club that it will be totally free of cost and we will not have to pay even a single penny other than Rs 2598.

        I made the payment through a credit card as they dont have any other mode of Payment. and later on I received the 12 book set, Membership No- ITBC0927994 but no voucher, then I made a call to the customer care and they led me through the process of free holiday package. I later received, a letter from Premier sales Promotion, Bangalore, that to avail this offer, I will have to make a payment through DD of Rs7000. then how is it free of cost?
        Now when I asked them for a refund that they 've done a fraud with me, the reply I received from the Senior Supervisor, Mr. Azeem Khan is that Mam, u have to courier us the books back, My question is that when you take the payment first and then deliver the product, and misrepresent the customer then you have to refund the money to the customer, not ask the customer to make further expenses of courier, and now I do not trust you people then why would I courier the stuff back and go through the inconvenience till my money is not refunded. Mr. azeem Khan told me that I will be receiving a call from his eniors, which I have not received yet. You need to learn something from Future Bazaar and Ebay kind of sites, I thought really highly of you first but now after my experience, I know well what you are sitting there for.
        I will have to make a national level complaint and put it out in the newspapers if my problem is not resolved in a day or two.

        Going through with all the complaints against INDIA TODAY BOOK CLUB it seems that all the customers who placed the order had not took complete information about the product.Now its a humble request to all the honerable customer that before placing any order to any where kindly go through with all informations and terms & conditions.

        We have lots of customers in all over india and we are very much open for every one .So kindly be Literate before placing any order. And Intentionally its our first priority to have customer satisfaction.

        indiatodaybookclub — cheating and fraud

        I have order 2 mobile handsets of model HTC HD2 from india today book club the booking id for the same was[protected] &[protected] .But when i inquired in customer care one other model has been issued to me without my notice. i have refused to received the parcel and asked them for refund of money but till date no action has been taken by india today.

          HI,

          I have order a reebok kit and paid 3198 though credit card. I was to shift my location in 1 month, the representive assured me to deliver the package before that. I did not receive anything in that time frame. One day I have received message that I have missed my package and it is returned to book club. Without trying to contact me, I did not receive any call or message from courier company. I have contacted book club and got my addressed changed, now it is more than 15 days and I have not received and package at my new address. I am not able to call at official number of india toady[protected], nobody is picking up. I feel cheated here, surfing on net I have realized that there are many who have suffered becuase of india today book club's non ethical practices. I need my package or return of my money. My order number is 0GA[protected].

          I am sorry to point out that the watch is defective, loses over 3 hours in every 12 hours despite my having changed the cell. The belt is too small, I had requested for a large size to fit a waist of 38-40" size but you have sent me 36 size. Both these items are of no use to me and I request that these be exchanged. Alternatively, the pro-rata amount be refunded to me. I only hope it was not a mistake ordering these items in response to your advertisement.

          It's the same story from my side. I have ordered reebok kit worth 3198 using my credit card with order no:0GA[protected] one month back. When I contacted them via mail, they replied first time saying I have to wait until the dipatch vendor contacts me. After waiting for a week & got no information, I have again mailed them 2 or 3 times. This time they haven't given reply also. It seems a fraud from Living media & everyone advised not to attract these offers. I don't know how to approach consumer forum regaring this. Still I will try and get their top down.

          Please don't buy any promotional kits, these are not authentic and cheaply made products.
          The reebok classic watch supplied by them doesn't have any model number and doesn't tell anything about water resistance e.g 30 m, 50 m..In one rain only it was flooded with water and currently not working .I believe all the other things like Reebok tees and shoes / sunglasses are also not authentic.
          Items are not worth for your hardly earned money.Hnadling charges are also like INR 300 to 500 which are quite higher than other supplier sites.

          My sister is registerd with India Today Book Club and ordered a Reebok Kit. we got a kit but they gave me shoe size 10 instead of 8 which I ordered.

          we returned those 10 size shoes and it has been around three months they are not giving me the correct shoe size.

          Their customer care department is the worst one, now we are trying to talk them but they are keeping on hold for long still nobody is conected to talk to.

          I am unable to understand what can be done now.

          India Today Book Club have taken money and still not giving me the shoes I have all the documents as to payement and courier receipt of deliver of shoes

          Kindly take up this case so that no body else faces the same problem.

          but the product not recieved upto 20/02/2010 so I request for cancellation of product they cancelled on 22/02/2010 cancellation no.379194 but money not recieved yet on enquiring they only give me next date of 15 days giving some reason like closing on financial and audit etc. but they not debeted money in credit card. It is requested to kindly look into the matter and refund money at once.

For receive this voucher you should buy some product from us”. He showed urgency and told that I have to buy some product to finish the tranction, otherwise Bank will close. I asked repeatedly whether they are discount vouchers or straight away I will get Gold or Diamond products, he confirmed no more spending. I believed him. The way he was speaking there was no chance of disbelieve and it was a reputed company.
            Three products were offered. I went for minimum amount product which was Samsung Omnia LTTE (B7300) costing Rs. 14998. ( It is not a popular phone and is available in much lesser rate). My membership no. is ITBC10428865.

            Till date from last one and half months, I did not receive 2,00,000 Gold Voucher and flight ticket.
            For free gift I am suppose to log on to a site. But continuously it is coming

              Subscribe: But do not expect deliveries!
              I had subscribed for a Mail Today subscription for one year starting April 2008. The cheque was given to the news paper vendor and he promised the rest will be taken care of. However for the whole of April, no paper was delivered saying that he is waiting for the coupons. Later after delivering for a few months, he again topped from Dec 2008 onwards saying that he does not have the coupons and that I should complain to Mail today. I got no response from the number of the executive the vendor had given. So I contacted the Delhi office. I was given a different number to contact[protected] and was given a complaint number [protected] on 17 Feb 2009. I was told that all coupons were in fact given to the newspaper vendor and he should supply. The vendor says he has got none and I should pay for back papers delivered.

              There is no resolution to the complaint. No one contacted me. if I contact the number is busy or not answered. The website of mail today has no email address for subscription complaints.

              So I am just putting this message here that if you intend to go for a yearly subscription-- don't. You might be fleeced by the paper vendor and the local executive of Mail today combined. If you do subscribe insist on coupons being delivered to you against a Cheque.

                I booked product of india today group on 25th jan.2009. Company said they send consinment on 2nd feb.2009 by vpp., but after passing so many days i dont get it.Consinment no.538540.Please tell me about this.

                I had placed an order for your Reebok shoe, Track suit, bag, towel&sunglass. For which payment made by credit card .I was told your order will be delivered to you in next 15 days .When I received parcel by blue-dart courier sunglasses WAS NOT MENTONED ON THE COVER of the parcel and at the same time I tried to contact your customer care number[protected], but I was kept on hold for more than 40 minutes .at that time blue –dart delivery boy was waiting. Delivery boy told me that he will come again with same parcel, i.e.[protected].Next day I tried your customer care number and was told that your sunglass will reach you with in next 10-12 days along with other items i.e. shoe, track suit, bag and towel, but not received any thing till date[protected].

                  India today book club executive called me on 10 feb, 09 said me i am selected for 60 lac draw /scheme under 30 member, membership will remain continued if and only if i will give them order of 2598 rupees through credit, for this in return i will get following things: 1)an international watch, 2)books worth 4000, 3)one single person free air ticket to any where in india, three days and two nights stay in three star ac hotel with free air tickets for couple and child below five years of age with meal and assistance free,
                  i got delivery of books worth1999 only with a very bad quality watch of rupess costing not much more than 400 but no any tickets?,

                    I had registered for Rs.60 lacs sweepstake entry on the mail received from [protected]@irctc.co.in. Thereafter I got a mail from India Today Book Club (ITBC) for successful registration in the sweepstake entry with passcode.

                    Thereafter I got a phone call from ITBC offering 20 devotional CD's @Rs.2598. In return they have informed the following freebies worth Rs.14000/- would be provided alogwith the Book's :

                    1. Reebok Shoes (they have taken my shoe size)
                    2. Voucher worth Rs.7000 for air travel in India.
                    3. Holiday voucher for Rs.5000
                    4. 1 key chain
                    5. 1 leather purse.

                    Today I have received vide their invoice no.ORA[protected] only the Books's, key cahin and purse whereas all other things as above have not been received.

                    On speaking to them they have informed to log on their website bookstoday.in/promos.htm and claim free gifts by mentioning the unique identification number.

                    Unfortunately after trying several times it is not being logged and shows error in the identification number.

                    ITBC have failed in their commitments and have failed to deliver the freebies and now are giving excuse of logging on their sites for claiming the gifts. It is misleading and people are fooled after they have made the payment.

                    The matter is to be taken up seriously with them and ensure they fulfil their committments or pay the money back to me alonwith penalty and fine so that such things are not repeated in future.

So many 48 hours have passed away and I haven't recieved any delivery. The customer care keeps on telling that courier has been dispatched though blue dart with consignment number [protected]. I have checked with blue dart and they say that such a number doesnot exist with them.

                          This is a clear case of online fraud. Can you please take legal action against the company so that other citizens also donot suffer this. Can I get my money back.. There is no provision to cancel the order in the website.

                          I have also been cheated by India Today Book Club offers in the same way.

                          I am also in the same boat, exactly the same situation. I have not received the kit for the more than a month now. I am sure INDIA TODAY (SUPPOSEDLY A REPUTED ORGANISATION) IS TAKING EVERYONE FOR A ROYAL RIDE. The best part is that they can take your order on the phone but cannot cancel it on the phone one has to sen the cancellation order by mail. The customer care people are the worst i have dealt with in the industry. I dont now haw to solve this problem?

                          India Today Book Club — NON RECEIPT OF SPORTS KIT

                          This is one of the biggest cheating I came across on the net in India. I received a mail thru irctc.com about winning stakes and then prompted me to buy Reebok kit for Rs 3199/, which I paid on 14th Jan'09.
                          After chasing them till date (6/3/09) they are not responding on their helpline. they just simply say our system is down (rubbish..). I am planning to lodge a criminal complaint against them for cheating.

                          On 14-02-09 new order no. is given to me - 0GA[protected], but till date I have not received my order. Whenever I call helpline no., simple answer is given "order is fully / successfully processed and will receive the same in 1 week"

                          This has been going for last 3 weeks. The customer service reps are not even transferring the call to senior personnel reason given all are busy. Today 17-03-09 am told to wait for 15 days more.

                          Mr. Mayank, Ms. Shabnam Khan, Arvind, Dominic Savio, Priya, Ishleen all these employees give different reasons / excuses but not even one has helped. I feel am helpless as I am based in Mumbai and this company is in Delhi.

                          ITBC is fleecing innocent buyers. WORST SERVICE PROVIDER I HAVE COME ACROSS TILL DATE.

                          I also placed order for Reebok Kitness Fit on March 20, 2009. I received the consignment on April 19. Unfortunately, it contained size 8 instead of size 10 ordered by me and it does not fit me at all. When I complained about it, they asked me to send the shoes to their address and they promised to reimburse me the courier charges. I sent the parcel on April 22 and it reached them on April 24. But they did not accept it. The parcel was returned to me today with remarks " Lene se Inkaar". When I complained about this they are asking me to send the parcel again. I do not want to incur any more expense and I have asked them to refund me the cost of the shoes and the courier charges.

                          I wish I had seen your site earlier. I would not have placed the order. But they pestered me over the phone daily 2-3 times and finally I relented.

As a customer how it is possible to segregate which is telesales or others….. Kindly go through my conversation at the time of order placing and find the gaps. At the time of order I ordered the shoe of size no. 7/8, but I received the size no. 9, which is totally wrong and I think that you must appreciate me that this shoe is now only for show.

                          As a reputed company in India I must expect a transparent relation from your end. I am complaining about the inconvenience caused with me and the lapse between vendor customer relations.

                          I find the offer attractive but still didn’t trust it, so I called up India Today Book Club Customer Care who assured me of the offer and also suggested me to pay a part of the amount if I don’t want to pay full amount at a time. It was a too good offer to resist.

                          There was no chance of doubt as India Today Book club is a subsidiary of India Today group is a leader in Publications, Television, News, Education and a whole lot of other media.

                          I Proceeded with the offer, called up the India Today Book Club Customer care, had a tlk with them, made a payment of Rs. 500 (Mobile transaction), the executive promised me of delivery in next 13 days as per their rules and conditions mentioned on their site www.indiatodaybookclub.com. This transaction was done on 16th Feb.

                          I was very excited, but I didn’t receive it. On March 15th I called up customer care, he replied it has been dispatched & will reach u shortly. I waited for more days, again on March 30th, I again enquired up with Customer care who said, that the consignment is stuck some where & raised a complaint (Complaint Number : 8216),and convinced me of getting my package in a weeks time which never happened.

                          Now, Its too much. I wrote a strong mail to email mentioned in the site, stating the whole issue, in detail. I received a reply:

                            Subscription Number PREV1571859 ENROLLED ON 9TH SEPT, 2008.

                            YET TO RECEIVE THE SUBSCRIPTION GIFT FROM INDIA TODAY WHICH WAS SUPPOSED TO COME BY 6-8 WKS. NO REASONS STATED BY THE COMPANY. HORRIBLE SERVICES. HOME DELIVERY OF MAGAZINES COMES LATE EVERY MONTH AFTER 10TH.
                            Hhaaahhh!! Well I am not the only one. I haven't received the gift for 2 years now and believe it's still coming in 3-4 weeks. That's what I am told each time I call the dumb call centre people. Maybe it's crawling and coming to my address...Oh well!!! even if I have to crawl and go to Delhi I would have reached by this time that's a different issue :)
                            The next hideous thing prevention did was that they finally!!! sent the gift to me and the courier guy asked me to come to his office instead of delivering to my address. Alright !! agreed, I was 2 days late to go because of work and because his office was far away from my house. He actually had sent the gift back to delhi because I didn't claim it !!! I mean, give me a break...godsake!!! i asked the guy over the phone, he said I can come n collect within a week and I went after just 2-3 days and this is what that stupid did...it took 2 years for prevention sluggish people to send the gift and when they sent, this intelligent guy sent it back. I am sure I am not getting it for the next few years...probably my great grandchildren will get it and they will be wondering what this prevention is...I guess Sanghamitra is still busy to answer the customer greivances!!! I am so not happy with the india today team X-(

                              I have paid an amount of Rs 2598/- for 7 DVDs. I have recieved the cds and one free gift. But not complete set as said in phone while purchasing. Invoice number ORA09004629. In the pack it is mentioned that i have to claim for the remaining gifts, But the website http://www.bookstoday.in/promos.htm is always saying "You have made incorrect entries. Kindly check and enter once again !!!". I called customer care 5 times and every time it is said that the problem will be rectified in another one hour from yesterday. So far i dint find any progress. Request you to check once what the problem is and hhow to proceed further.

                              I had ordered a pack of 4 music CDs which was delivered in Oct. None of these CDs work. There was a letter offering free gifts for which I had to log on to a site and key in certain details mentioned on the invoice. Its been two months and endless no of calls, but there seems to be some problem and I am told repeated by the customer care center that the unique code needs to be activated and will take 48 hours.
                              After numerous 48 hours (More than 48 days!!!) I keep hearing the same story and when I ask t speak to a superisor I am told my the exec Sarabjit that the supervisors are busy as well and are not available to talk. Shouldnt the work of the supervisors be to attend to customers and not sit cozily on their chairs not taking calls from customers.
                              I have never seem such disorganization where the company cannot put their act together in 2 months nor can they attend to customers!!

                              It stupid to say, pathetic service, customer care and the Gifts were not sent along with the order, Customer care only knows to apologise and nothing else. Its really bad very bad.. Not expected from group which has big name.

                                The business of the above company by sending tempating E-Mails offering Free gifts is really a fraud.I have paid Rs.2598/- for a pack of CDs and United colours of Benetton watch worth 2600/- and free Air Ticket worth Rs7000/- and free hotel Voucher worth 5000/- offered by them.Their representative called me over telephone and when asked clarified that I need not pay anything extra for the free hotel stay and air ticket.Yesterday, I have received the parcel containing the CDs and watch.Following are my complaints-
                                1)There is no warranty card along with the watch-even model number not available.The MRP of Rs.2600/- id doubtful.
                                2)for the free holiday offer I have to send Rs800/- DD, which they have not mentioned earlier!!!
                                2)There was no flight voucher along with the parcel.for that I have to register seperately and send a form.I don't know whether they will be asking anything extra while issuing the ticket.

                                This is not over here.

                                You know I availed the same offer. There are lot more shocking things behind.

                                If you want to avail Airticket.First it should be round trip. Second they will consider maximum fare of the year.

                                Thisrd they will provide only Base fare thats exluding tax.

                                Like this ticket in spicejet and indigo available only in 1 Rs or 21 Rs these days.

                                Apart from that you cant avail holiday voucher on any holidays including saturday and sunday.

                                So we should loose our service or business those days.

                                And for me even watch works for two hours and agian stop working.

                                This is tooooooooo bad from their side.

                                We should bring them in court.

                                  This is to let India Today know that being a reputed company If you all are going to cheat your customers then surely one day you have to pay back.

                                  This is what happened to me.

                                  I got one call from one of your executive named as "Dharmraj."

                                  He offered me that if I pay 2598 Rs then I will be given set of 7Dvds and One good company watch.

                                  And apart from that one holiday Boucher worth Rs 5000 and One round trip Air Ticket worth of 7000Rs.

                                  Then I asked some questions to him..

                                  1.Can I avail this holiday Boucher any time even there should not be any restriction of applying one months before?

                                  Then he kept me on hold and then answered me that I can avail it any time even I can get the dates of holidays just after two days itself from the date when i receive it.

                                  And for Air ticket he told that I can avail the complete fair including tax amount any time with in one year.

                                  So I got convinced and gave my credit card details over the phone and order the offer.

                                  After few days I got one parcel in which 7Dvds and One watch of some Benetton company was there. First of all that watch works for two hours and then will get stopped. Then again I have to set the time.

                                  And for getting those another two free gifts like holiday Boucher and Air ticket, I had to call to customer care.

                                  They gave me some website URL, from there I got some unique code.

                                  But when I saw the conditions for availing the holiday Boucher then I was shocked.

                                  It was like I cant avail that offer on any holidays, even including Saturday and Sundays.

                                  Then I have to report at least one months before to avail on any specific dates. And that dates will also given by them if on my given dates there is no hotels free..

                                  Now tell me I should loose my three days salary to go for that offer. and even I have to pay 800 rs more to book any hotel extra.

                                  And in case of Air ticket they will decide that in which flight I can travel and only base fair will be given by them Which is now days only 1 RS and 21 Rs by airlines like indigo and spice jet.

                                  And whenever I call to customer care they listen me for one minute and cut the call.

                                  This is really ridiculous. I am very much upset and angry for all this cheating.
                                  If really India Today people are reading this then please help me.

                                  I had ordered a BATA bag along with free airtickets worth Rs.7000/-. In the terms and condition there was only the condition that of delhi-bubaneshwar rate at the peak of 2009. but after repeat mails i threatened of lodging complaint with consumer court. then i got a flight voucher, when i read the voucher i realised that i have to pay upfront Rs.7000/- towards tax to india today book club to avail the offer. after so much of effort i got vouchers, now if i pay 7000/- i am sure they will make me run for manythings here after. its clearly cheating by not disclosing the fact with offer declaration.

                                    I had placed an order for 12CDS of Encyclopedia Britannica & Discover, which promised Free Reebok Tracksuit & and a holiday voucher/coupon for 3days/2nights stay with veg meals for a couple for Rs.2499/- (incl. Rs.500/-) handling charges on Jan., 17th 2009. I have received the 12CDS and Reebok Tracksuit but not the holiday voucher as mentioned. Instead the Invoice mentions that to claim the free holiday voucher gift we have to log on to www.bookstoday.in/promos.htm within 60days of the invoice date but to my surprise the said site does not exist. When the remittance was already credited to India Today Book Club, why the Holiday Voucher was not send alongwith the CD & Tracksuit. In this scenario, if you are not able to log on to the site, one is sure to loose the holiday voucher. This simply seems to be an eyewash. There are already 637 complaints against this company. Has the company ever thought how this in turn going to affect the reputation of the company? It's one kind of cheating.

                                    You are requested to look into the matter on priority basis, otherwise the matter will be put forward to Consumer Forum, media coverage and definately it's going to affect the reputation.

                                    India Today Book Club — NON RENEWAL OF ACCOUNT

                                    1. I have been a member of ITBC vide membership No. ITBC01162144, since 2002.

                                    2. I had a credit balance with the book club of Rs 505.00 (owing to their non delivery of book), thus I had requested them to renew my membership, which expired on Aug 07, with the credit balance held with them.

                                    3. Till date I must have written to them numerous mails, and all my requests to either renew my membership or send me the book which they couldnot send, have fallen to deaf ears (deliberately obviously).

                                    4. Ofcourse I am disappointed with their response and frankly I will not recomend any of my friend to be their member because
                                    a. Frequent non availability of demanded books.
                                    b. Poor customer satisfaction standards.

                                    Apparently India Today Book Club are fraudulently tricking people to buy their products with enticements of free gift offers which are non-existent.

                                    For the jewellery offer from Surat diamonds, the invoice I received along with the item is less by Rs.3000/ than the price quoted.

                                    I booked order for 20 Saaz CDs and sent cheque nos.499312 and 499313 for Rs.600 each and balance Rs.700/ was to be paid on receipt of consignment.
                                    You have sent me books instead of CDs which I returned back vide my letter dated 15.10.2008 but I had to pay Rs.780/ to post office( Rs.699/ being cost of books and balance postage charges).
                                    I hvae not received CDs as yet. Today, I received a SMS on my mobile informing that consignment of CD has been sent vide order no.OGA[protected] and I have to pay Rs.2000/ to postal department, It is nothing but cheating that once you have received amount in full how can you sent to pay parcel.
                                    When complained today on helpline, person attending call asked me not to accept parcel when received and then you will send CD.

                                    I advise you to send me immediately fresh consignment wihtout cost without waiting for my returning the consignment, you want to save little respect you deserve from helpless customer.

                                    I had done a purchase from itbc online and I was charged twice and had shipped the item also twice. I had rejected one item and even before the item was shipped I rang them up as well as mailed about the additional order triggered. (I got two mails for order confirmation that is how I understood there were two orders generated).

                                    From then onwards I had wrote almost 32 mails in all ids they had provided. I rang them up more than 60 times. All the CSRs say issue will be resolve within a day but nothing happened nor response for the mails no contact other than the mail id and the phone they give me.

                                    This is the most pathetic online shopping and service I have expereience in my life worldwide.

                                    I really doubt whether ITBC is a fraud company or not.

                                    Today I have received vide their invoice no.ORA[protected] only the CD's, key cahin and purse whereas all other things as above have not been received.

                                    On speaking to them they have informed to log on their website bookstoday.in/promos.htm and claim free gifts by mentioning the unique identification number.

                                    Unfortunately after trying several times it is not being logged and shows error in the identification number.

                                    ITBC have failed in their commitments and have failed to deliver the freebies and now are giving excuse of logging on their sites for claiming the gifts. It is misleading and people are fooled after they have made the payment.

                                    The matter is to be taken up seriously with them and ensure they fulfil their committments or pay the money back to me alonwith penalty and fine so that such things are not repeated in future.

                                    I had placed an order for 20CDS, which promised Free Reebok shoes & and a holiday voucher/coupon for 3days/2nights stay with veg meals for a couple for Rs.5000/- (incl. Rs.500/-) handling charges on Feb 20th 2009. I have received the 20CDS only but not the holiday voucher as mentioned. Instead the Invoice mentions that to claim the free holiday voucher gift we have to log on to www.bookstoday.in/promos.htm within 60days of the invoice date but to my surprise the said site does not exist. When the remittance was already credited to India Today Book Club, why the Holiday Voucher was not send alongwith the CD . In this scenario, if you are not able to log on to the site, one is sure to loose the holiday voucher. This simply seems to be an eyewash. has the company ever thought how this in turn going to affect the reputation of the company? i thing this is one kind of cheating.

                                    This has been going for last 3 weeks. The customer service reps are not even transferring the call to senior personnel reason given all are busy. Today 17-03-09 am told to wait for 15 days more.

                                    Mr. Mayank, Ms. Shabnam Khan, Arvind, Dominic Savio, Priya, Ishleen all these employees give different reasons / excuses but not even one has helped. I feel am helpless as I am based in Mumbai and this company is in Delhi.

                                    ITBC is fleecing innocent buyers. WORST SERVICE PROVIDER I HAVE COME ACROSS TILL DATE.

                                        Hi,

                                        I have been having a tough time dealing with India Today group ! I subscribed for Mens Health in Nov 08. Initially, they did not acknowlede the receipt of my payments for a month, even though the payment for made using my credit card. Later when that issue got resolved, I was told that I will start receiving copies from Jan'09.

                                        When I did not receive my copy till jan 12th, I raised an alarm and their customer care replied that its in transit. So i wainted for a week more, but no copy was delivered. Hence I contacted them again and now they say they cannot do anything and I have to go thru www.wecare24x7.in !! I have no problems following the procedure, but the problem is that they are so lethargic in their replies that it kills ! For instance, I requested wecare24x7 to create my online account so that I can file my missing copy request, but they have not created it till now, even after 5 days !

                                        I did the biggest mistake by subscribing to them. I think it would have been much better to pick up the copies from newstand !

                                        Below are the replies I got ! I must have exchanged almost 20 emails with them, and all turned futile ! Pathetic service ! Should I do a chargeback and finish off the matter or will the senior authorities take some action ?

                                        Today is 10th feb and I am still without any information !

                                        I have no idea what I should do...they have failed to deliver january issue and they are soon going to miss the january issue too.

                                        Such a pathetic service...They are here to fool people !

                                        I truly agree with you...I have faced similar problem a year ago...my copies were not delivered for 4 months ! They have a very careless attitude.

                                        India Today — Non delivery of subscription

                                        I have paid a full subscription of ITE 3 months ago, Since January the delievries have been irrelugar. Being delivered 2 weeks late or not being delivered at all. After several mails and letters I got exactly 2 issues on time since my subscription started. I have been in correspondence with the company for the last 2 months..All to NO effect. Now sadly I have not been getting my subscriber copy at all for the last 4 weeks I have given up writing to the company becuase they are neither willing to investigate the matter nor take action against the erring delivery vendors. At the end I have been put to a loss becasue of the total lack of commitment on part of Living Media publications. On enquiy there are several others in the city who are suffering the same. It is like a racket where innocent citizens are being made to pay for subscriptions without getting any copies at all. I live in Kanpur. My subscription number is ITE14914. CASE ID 2239562.

                                        India Today Group — non delivery of health kit

                                        dear sir, I booked the rebok health kit on 30th september and paid the amount 3199/- by phone banking ,i was assured that i will get the kit with in 15 working days but till today i have not received the goods.
                                        I am also experiencing horrible with 'India Today' . I am cheated by this so called 'reputed publication' after obtaining a huge amount towards 3 years advance subscription for their English 'India Today' . They sent me one defective and useless wrist watch as 'free gift' and subsequently stopped the delivery of the publication also. It becomes necessary to send a e-mail reminder every week when they deliver one obsolete edition i.e.: almost 2 weeks after its actual availability which they were very perfect until I was subscribing on yearly basis. I have not only spent about Rs.200/- for return of the defective watch at their advise, delivery of my copy is completed stopped since last 3 weeks as I stopped reminding them. I shall certainly be initiating legal recourse for this cheating but I want to caution others not to get lured by so called girfts or reduced rate of subscription from such publications.
