I had booked a ticket via irctc website for pnr [protected] and filed for its cancellation, about 7 hours before time of departure. I tried filing the cancellation via irctc website, but it was failing. I mailed the screenshot to customer care. Next, i called customer care and they advised to send mail to [protected]@irctc.co.in.
I sent mail for cancellation to [protected]@irctc.co.in 7 hours prior to time of departure for the ticket.
Next, i logged back into irctc but the ticket was not showing in cancellation section. Hence, it was picked up by the irctc team. But i received no confirmatory email. I called up customer care and they assured it would be processed properly.
On calling subsequent days to irctc, they said the ticket was processed as a tdr and not cancellation.
Why do i as a passenger has to take financial hit when the fault was on the end of irctc team.
