Recently, i had a train journey in second ac (2-tier) i. E. I didn't book a ticket, rather i took a general super fast train ticket and boarded the train as i didn't get time to get into a general compartment.
However, i met the ttr (Ticket collection officer on board) and paid the challan/fee for the charges as i took different coach for the ticket i purchased, the ttr up on verification of my identity allotted a seat/berth to me.
The problem/flaw is here:
The ttr however allotted a seat/berth to me, but he didn't update it any where, in the sense the same/berth is still available on irctc website under current booking, the same has happened and a guy has booked the same seat/berth under current booking and boarded the train in the next station.
He approached near my seat/berth and said that he booked the seat/berth under current booking.
I was unaware of the situation and met the ttr (Here, the ttr has got exchanged and i met the new on boarded ttr), he took some time to cross verify and allotted a seat/berth to me. But, by the time he gave me a seat/berth, the time was late night.
Request the irctc team to provide an app/link to the ttr's, so that they can update when they provide a challan against a seat/berth, and the irctc website will be in sync, so that this kind of incidents don't arise in future.
I think this is a technical lag between irctc and the ttr's on train.
Please provide a solution to this, as irctc is not giving the seat's/beth's for free of cost and they are taking some good amount of money apart from gst and surcharges.
For your information, i took circar express from ndd and by the time, i reached bza, the above incident happened, and i have the challan which i paid, but that wont work in any sense here.
Its a lag between irctc and ttr's. Here ttr's only get the paper printout of the irctc website status.
Request to take some action and make train journey a happy journey.
Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation [IRCTC] customer support has been notified about the posted complaint.
I tried to book tickets b4 days back but have ended up in 3 failed transaction, resulting in deduction of 744.66 thrice on 2nd of Nov 2019.
I have been noted of refund by IRCTC by email but recieved it only once and the transaction history shows that the amount of an the 3 haw been refunded.
